Any european legofans here? How much is the shipping usually if you only buy 1-20 figures on bricklink? How much is the shipping costs from USA to europe for 1-20 figures?

The reason im asking is so i dont get scammed, like they sell the figure super cheap and then ship the guy for 100 dollars...
>>
>>6205612
Oh man my english is just terrible, I'm basicly asking for the average shipping price from Europe respectivly the U.S. cost as a european buyer for 1-20 figures.

It can vary depending on the seller and chosen method of shipping

Probably never since LEGO has a severe condition of not caring about the wishes of specific demographics, hence why many themes do not get direct reboots or remakes

Heck, even with a system like CUUSOO or IDEAS (which is a system where they know for a FACT that there is high demand for a suggested product), they barely give a shit

Well, it greatly depends on the country. If you're only buying small things, sellers from Netherlands have generally cheap-ish shipping.

And for example, just today I shipped a single-fig polybag to UK for 1.30€.

Extreme fag here. I decided to take a picture of my villains faction that I'm building. And yeah I know Ogel's armor can't really mix well with Vladek's helmet visor, but I kinda like it anyway since I can always pretend it's some sort of Dark Helmet type of gag where he can't see shit when it's down.

As soon as I get the chance, I'm going to bricklink a bunch of parts to make Blacktron robot soldiers for these losers to sic on that meddling Extreme Team.

I think (and a couple of my educator friends think) that these damned sets "for girls" are horribly regressive and actually more limiting for imaginative play. - And pretty much agree with you.
>>
>>6205860
>I think (and a couple of my educator friends think) that these damned sets "for girls" are horribly regressive and actually more limiting for imaginative play.

That's nice.

Do your marketing friends think that minidolls are more profitable than other attempts to market Lego sets to girls? Because that's really the only thing that matters.
>>
>>6205860
Yes, i also thought that but i could not express how i feel about them, i think they dumb girl down and honestly lego could do the same theme but they never tried making sets for girls with traditional figs, always some shit which i think little girls don't even like, like belville, this is same shit with specialized parts, it is maybe good for kids around age of 5 but i think this figs are too dumb for older children and figs look horrible and have lame articulation, also if you have sets from other themes you have mismash of figs which don't go together
>>
hijabi minidoll when?
>>
>>6205868
I've seen friends sets go on 80% discount while no other theme got discounted so hard, so that doesn't mean anything? Right?
>>
>>6205860
Sometimes I wonder if the kind of people who make these complaints have seen the sets they used to make for girls.
I haven't bought any friends sets, but from the looks of things, they look about as complex as the average set (sometimes they seem more complex than the average city set in all honesty).
I don't really see what's limiting when you're still just getting bricks at the end of the day.
>>
>>6205877
The figs are fucking dumb, but nobody complained about the sets, they are ok...
I don't see the reason why lego made special figures for girlsy they don't even look like lego. And also lego failed with marketing last 25+ years because they didn't make girl oriented sets, they made lego more boy toy. In my opinion the theme would be much better if it had normal figs like paradisa for example, this is the girls theme but not only girls enjoyed it, i think they should go for that style, but farms, hospitals, caffes are all cool but those figs are horrible and out of proportion
>>
>>6205887
>The figs are fucking dumb, but nobody complained about the sets, they are ok...
The sets are the main thing, so I hardly see how the fluff (the figures) are horribly regressive.
The fact is, these figures appeal to girls more than regular figures. That's why they chose them. Lego is business, so it's interested in making money.
I imagine the girls who prefer minidolls think that normal lego figures would be restrictive compared to the minidolls.

Yet i would rather spend my money on sets i like more than friends, because less flaws the set has the better

For example i am not target audience for lego city but i still buy those sets because they are better in general
I wonder how long will those minidolls sets last, but sincerely don't see much difference from this and belville, just my 2 cents
>>
>>6205921
Belville was much, much more simplistic.
I'm actually flicking through the sets on brickset right now, and not only are the sets themselves really different, but the dolls stand out way, way more compared to the minidolls. The minidolls fit in reasonably well with lego.

>>
>>6205876
>I've seen friends sets go on 80% discount while no other theme got discounted so hard, so that doesn't mean anything? Right?

It means you don't have an actual argument and you're irate over a profound number of social and relationship issues. I understand your frustration over your current life situation, but directing your ire at strangers on an anonymous Canadian fur-trapping mailing list isn't very constructive.

The minidoll line is incredibly profitable for TLG. If you have actual (not anecdotal) evidence to the contrary, please post it, as it would be surprising to everyone in this thread.
>>
>>6205887
>I don't see the reason why lego made special figures for girls

Lego spent a billion dollars on research, and do you know what their research found out? Girls preferred minidolls over minifigs.

It's weird, but they didn't bother asking any adult males what they thought. Almost like they're more concerned with making money than pleasing a demographic that's literally inconsequential.
>>
>>6205931
Im not mad or anything, i dont think i made that impression but nevermind. I am not frustrated about these sets but it is dumb that lego separates genders etc... i don't want to sound like some sjw but it is my opinion

Also more money doesnt equal quality
Sorry i couldn't post image of said discount, because i saw it in a store 2 weeks ago, it is up to you if you believe me or not
I guess there will be people who will defend whatever lego puts out, but that is ok, don't want to argue with such fanboys anymore since discussion always ends with the same outcome
>>
>>6205932
I don't think it is nearly close to billion dollars, even million seems farfetched, but ok, i don't have anything against friends but i wish we would see those sets but in city remake... veterinarian doesn't only have to be a girl thing, or a horse farm
>>
>>6205947
Also, even if they are really profitable, lego arent perfect marketing gods like some of you percieve them, they had fair share of failed themes in not so distant past, like chima, which wasn't bad but some sets were pretty dumbed down and so was their show, and bionicle g2 failed miserably, unfortunately, it is sad because those themes could be awsome, just shows that lego can make mistakes too

>>
I don't remotely think people who dislike the mini-doll have nothing to be disappointed about. However, I also don't think that justifies the kind of outright hate or disgust that sometimes springs up. There are ways to express dislike or disappointment without tearing down things other people enjoy or adopting an "us vs. them" mentality.

And believe me, I get just as irritated about this kind of "us vs. them" mentality when it's held by people who SHARE my enjoyment of certain themes. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Bionicle fans or Ninjago fans viciously attack other themes that they see as inferior or as a threat to the themes they enjoy.

Star Wars and other licensed themes tend to get a lot of heat from fans of non-licensed themes who see them as unimaginative monoliths that stifle the growth and development of original themes. I'm entirely with them when it comes to preferring original themes to licensed ones, and yet at the same time, I can't pretend that licensed themes are without their merits, or that other people's enjoyment of licensed themes is any less legitimate than my enjoyment of original ones.

I know "why can't we all just get along?" is a tremendous cliche, and that disagreements are inevitable. But I don't think anything productive comes from making hateful, abrasive posts about LEGO products we dislike when there are usually ways to express one's dislike that are more respectful of those who might genuinely enjoy those products.

Highly doubt that Lego will release a potential Big-Fig kind of animal piece as a polybag.
It never happened before and will never happen.
Bigfig animals are for big expensive sets.

Its like if they could release a Polybag with JW-raptor. Or an Agents polybag with Sharkinator.

Polybags are for cheap peices or printed minifig that easy to produce. Not for unique parts that very exclusive.
(if we actually getting a Zombie shark, then i doubt that a shark body with ribs/holes will fit to any other lego theme...so...it will probably never happen again)

>all this minidolls discussion

My 2 cents about minidols is that they aren't really needed. Bought my very first friend set today (built something special for you, /lg/) and got Andrea. she's... actually cute. and as soon as I'll have the right shirt I'll use her hair to make a Weird Al. So way more useful than I thought it would have been.
The set also was really nice, and a lot of the bigger, city like sets from friends look really cool. Same for Elves' dragons too.

So, i think minidolls aren't really fitting in the general LEGO universe and a girl-centric lego theme with normal figs like Paradisa would be mor eappreciated (by me) but the sets are actually pretty good. probably I'll buy more someday.

Its fake, when you see the lot there are two images of it. One is the ghost shark, the other is the mechanical shark.

They put up two images so when you buy it and they give you the other, you can't do anything about it.

>They put up two images so when you buy it and they give you the other, you can't do anything about it.

Other anons explained it like this:

1) right now there is NO way to create lot for Zombieshark because this lot/piece dont even oficially exist so you cant create it on Bricklink
2) so they used Sharkinator lot to put Zombieshark on it

3) it tells 2 things - First "basic description of Sharknator" and then at the end "Zombieshark"

im really fucking curious.

Some would say its the hardest part
This is just my anecdotal evidence, but some common problems were, bad/misaligned printing, colors are off (like skin tones between parts), and loose arms/legs (some to the point where moving them would pop them off)
Again, quality can vary widely between companies and if you really want it, I'd just go for it. I usually find a use for the "bad" minifig parts anyway so I don't mind

I'm a bit on the fence about it. I fondled a the baggies to get all the ones i wanted but left her behind in the end. But my mother commented she thought she looked cool afterwards and it reminded me i still have the cmf bunnyman suit to go with it.
But I don't use fleshies so i'll only use the bunnyears, legs and maybe the hands. Legs i can use and are cool, but i don't know of a torso and/leg combo to make a full suit to go with the hood.

I also feel like an idiot, and rightly so, because a few days ago I realized that I had only put the armless version of this piece on my want list, which is why only three listings were showing up, one each from three different sellers. I wanted four, but figured that was never going to happen.

The only sellers (for either with arms or without) are overseas, so I ended ordering an armless torso before I realized the issue. Now I've got another three on order (also from Germany) but tl;dr I could have saved myself seven bucks in shipping by not being dumb.

Anyway, heresy worked out pretty well, and I managed to conceal the scratch a little bit by using a green Sharpie marker. Gonna be a lot of heresy tonight.

Haven't touched lego in a long time; just bought a small set today and built pic related. I found a lot of new/unfamiliar bricks (eg. the see-saw pivot in pic related).

What should I aim to buy for maximum bang for my bucks? Usually, I build according the instructions at least once, but ultimately I want to play/build freely. I have been browsing the lego site for the past 2 hours.

I wouldn't mind reviews regarding

The creative brick boxes are good basic sets, and you should probably get at least one. However, you'll find that the meat of modern Lego building is more in the flat studded plates and the usage of sideways building rather than the classic bricks.

You'll find that any Creator set is a good way to go. And we do mean any -- there are just as many ways to build with a 5$ Creator set as there are the bigger ones.

Serious Play is not a theme for collectors and those who want to play with their bricks in their own time. If you're the boss of an office and want a fun way to brings employees together while fostering creativity, then be my guest. Otherwise, forget it.

Does "creative brick boxes" refer to all sets in the Creative series or only those with the exact words "brick boxes" in their name?

>>
>>6207348
pretty much what >>6207370 said
You could buy creative buckets, but for today's standards they're restricting. Just buy any creator set you like (doesn't hurt to buy two of one set when starting out so you have parts with fitting colors to improve on the set LEGO made. You then also have even numbers of each piece, which makes building symmetrical stuff easier)

As for Architect: They are beautiful display pieces but have a really bad value if you want to build your own stuff. City is a bit better, but the best value is creator

>Does "creative brick boxes" refer to all sets in the Creative series or only those with the exact words "brick boxes" in their name?
I was referring to the sets in the LEGO Classic range, most of which are called Creative Brick Boxes or Creative Building Sets. Packed with basic necessities, it should give you enough to work with. The thing is that a lot of your builds will probably be very basic as well.

The ones I really advocate are the ones under the "Creator" banner. Each box is centered around a theme, and they come with instructions to build three distinct models out of the included pieces.

21050 Architecture Studio can be fun to experiment with if you're purely interested in the form of your creations. It comes with the basics, mixes in some potential for advanced builds, and it even has a neat sorting tray. The thing with this one though is that it's all white, and unless you're only interested in making studies on architectural forms, I would advise against buying it.

They have already decided on a design for small legs, and they're committed to it. Just like how they're never gonna make minifig legs with knee joints, they're never gonna make jointed short legs.
>>
>>6207595
That is correct, the design of the skeleton's pelvic region is in no way similar to the standard minifig leg design, or even these posable knockoff legs seen >>6207583
>>
>>6207607
No, what I was trying to say is that the swivel arm joints of the skeletons are made from plastic basically nanometers thick, even a newborn baby could break them by accident. LEGO Group has been using this design for about 22 years now

The "durability standards" argument is not always true to minifigure related parts

I hope it will appear in ninjago, or that we will get him in a set which ideally isn't too expensive, but the style isn't ninjago like but at the same time we have seen garmadon has got shark mech and sea themed minions

>>6207591
That can't be right. I've got several pairs of the short ones, they're as durable as normal legs.

Another version is that the zombie shark doesn't even appear in the potc movie expect from trailer so lego decided to sack it... it is a shame because the mold is glorious

Oh yes. This.
may be they will summon a shark to help them.

However the zombie shark is SO PotC that fits to their ghost pirates theme.
This why its interests me so much,

I found one website selling First Order TIE for 55€ plus shipping. Is it worth that? I mean, it's still like 80€ everywhere else that still happens to have it in stock so in that regard it's a great deal.

I have a small-ish collection of TIE fighters (2001 original, Bomber, Adv. Prototype and Vader's one from last year) going, and my only normal one is the one from 2001, and they've improved a lot since then. I also think that blue and red would have a neat contrast with each other.

looks great, what are you using as the plunger? is it the minifig one?
only change I'd suggest would be the ray gun,
and mounting it on the same type fitment as the plunger arm (or a maxifg 'hand' in place of the wrench ) but that might be a tiny bit oversize
maybe some 2x1 cheese wedges up the length of the the front plate edges with an extra 1x4 in the centre to shape the front a bit more ( then the 1x2 roof tile on the base to gv it a pointed look)
>>

Because that would require the overpaid engineers at LEGO to like get off their chair and actually design separate parts, maybe even pressure and heat test them individually, possibly run them through some computer software

People are more self conscious about what they buy than the people who don't care, (usually people who have worked retail.)

I used to work in a store that sold porn, the only regular I remember is the guy who made a big deal about wrapping and double-bagging his shit because of nosey neighbors.

The ones who didn't say anything don't register. But when you're buying something "weird", you feel self conscious and feel the need to explain yourself.

Yeah, I know! I found a few torsos of some of the other minifigs from the series too, had a look for the heads but had no luck.

It's strange to see people's personalites come together if you are here for enough threads

Hey, ive never hidden who I am because as I said, I dont care what other people think, I do me, they can do them. Im also sticking my neck on the line here trying to kill the other thread for you guys, noticing that for as much bitching as there is usually, no one ELSE is doing it.

Also consider the site that you are on. All sorts post here, im sure there are probably serial killers who browse these very threads, who knows.

And for the record, I would NEVER wear a fedora, EVER.

A nice Bowler hat, thats a different story.

I never hid the fact I'm buying LEGO for myself but that was really from left field.

Since i was the only one in lne I just told him I was going to build pic related with it.

I'm a grown man playing with legos. I don't give a fuck about what I buy. However.

I've never seen a naked woman in person, and doubt very much they'd be willing to do anything for minutes, let alone hours. All my first dates end with them leaving after dinner, and my age-appropriate friends tell me missionary sex with the lights on is the ultimate fantasy.

That is weird.

The people at my LEGO Store already know me. They sometimes even help me fondle Cmfs and on Force Friday the Store Manager said she was actually waiting for me...

In other stores I simply get ignored.

Oh, believe me, they are. The bricks are stellar quality, all connections solid as fuck. Would just need to do head swaps for any of the figs that come with them (they suffer from down syndrome starkitis face), ALSO, they have come WAY the fuck down in price. You can get most of the hulkbusters for like $15 a set! Even the new Iron Patriot version that just came out is under $20 in most ali stores.

>Got any recommendations for a store that doesn't wait half a year to ship?
I must have had great luck with my Ali order, because only took a week to arrive.
>>
>>6208308
Pretty much just have to look at their shipping time, and also if you get the chance to pay a little extra for DHL shipping, do it. I have had modulars from ali come in less than 4 days buying them from DHL shipping stores. And thats china to michigan. three-four days.

This. I regularly have a shopping cart that includes one Lego set and a pair of size 9 thing panties.

If you can buy slutty panties and still greet the cashier with a smile and a wave, you have graduated.

Graduated to what, I'm not sure.

I also like exclusively minifig scaled or minifig appropriate sets, like car doesnt have to be in perfect scale to figure, but it can sit a minifig, if you know what i mean but i dont know how it is called

Only exception is bionicle but i dont view them as a normal lego

The guy from here that stuck the most with me was this one that pretended to be european because he was afraid of being bullied for being Rusian.

I mean, I live in an european country and i don't support what Russia is doing, but It's sad to think how much the relationships with other countries has gone to shit considering its people is afraid of telling where they're from.

By the way russian guy I'm glad you told us. let's be unite at least in the passion for our hobby.

nope, I decided to actually follow through with the idea, pèopped some threads ago, that the minifigs in costume are actually a band of criminals with a theme.
And what better equipment or a gang than a dog-themed, armored van?

Oh, for myself of course. I find them to be terribly comfortable.

I'd never buy something just to fuck with a cashier. It's true what people in this thread say: cashiers just don't give a shit.

If I were going to try to fuck with someone, the order would have to tell a very specific story, like one carrot, one zuchini, one eggplant, three tubes of personal lubricant and a digital camcorder.

>>6206242
