Post here to discuss all non-LEGO building block systems, bootleg or otherwise. Mega Bloks/Construx talk, while not discouraged, should go in its own dedicated thread here: >>6171270
Talk about what you're waiting for from China to clear customs, shit you've seen in discount stores, and how dead Kre-O is given that Hasbro showed nil at NYTF even with a practically guaranteed Transformers movie tie-in this summer.
>>6202720
>how dead Kre-O is given that Hasbro showed nil at NYTF even with a practically guaranteed Transformers movie tie-in this summer.
I gave Kreo a chance, I really did, but all their stuff was so...bad. Just low quality with poor builds. Except /maybe/ the combiners, but even then fans have done worlds better. I know it's Hasbro, but I wish they would strike a deal for Transformers brick licensing with either Lego or Mega (preferably Mega). GI Joe, too. It'll never happen, obviously, but a boy can dream.
Who else really enjoys the way COD and destiny parts flow together sometimes?
>>6202762
Kre-O is good at the discount prices you can get it for now. Movie Prime is actually a very nice set too and the large Bumblebee set isn't bad either. Megatron has a nice truck but the robot needs work. I liked Devastator a lot even if the small robot modes are poor.
The big flaw with the robots were those odd off-center limbs in the first sets. The later sets had proper limbs.
GI Joe was okay. Battleship is good for parts.
Kreons are better than minifigs ON PAPER but in practice Hasbro was too cheap to use a decent grade of plastic. They were too easily damaged at even the factory level during assembly.
>>6203032
thats fuckign comfy
Call me crazy, but lately I've been thinking that someone should give the Built To Rule concept another look. Not the Transformers garbage - I'm talking about the idea of 1:18 scale brick-built vehicles and playsets. It doesn't sound bad when you hear it; it's just that Hasbro bungled the execution. Look at Mega Construx and what they're doing with CoD. I would kill for that level of detail in a set scaled to 3 3/4" action figures. Maybe it's not a realistic to expect that without resorting to a load of specialized parts, but I would like to see somebody other than Hasbro give it a try.
Well, the kre o Trolls sets that came out this year are pretty good quallity.
>>6203050
Kre-O wasn't Hasbro, it was Oxford.
>>6203762
Mm, partly correct. The brick elements were sourced from Oxford. The sets and Kreons were all designed by Hasbro, though.
Have any of you guys bought anything from Mech Frame 5?
I want to check them out but hesitant since the price is kinda high for a small build
>>6205335
>Mech Frame 5
The main value these have is the unique parts that make up the frame. Looks like you're expected to supplement these with lego, specifically their mixel joint system.
The designers of the MF5 system did makesome weird choices that really reduce modularity. Their male / female piece (2nd from left) uses a female mixel + a clip, instead of a male/female mixel, so you can't chain together long arms. Instead they used double clip piece for elbows (rightmost part). Really reduces the possibilities.
What do you think the chances are of getting something like this in blok form?
>>6208472
Probably zero, due to the licensing snarl that would result.
Legofag here, never bought mega blocks before but the price was right
Hey I was wondering but can anyone identify this helicopter set? I have no idea who makes it and there are no markings on it. The minifigure almost looks like an old Mega Blocks guy but no helicopter set like this is listed on any sites. I'm guessing that this may have been made around late 1980's to mid 1990's since this was in with a bunch of other Legos from around that time period. The helicopter lights up and makes sounds.

>>6211054
oh wow, those are pretty good
Finally snagged 2 of these guys
>>6209552
What store?
>>6203032
>Who else really enjoys the way COD and destiny parts flow together sometimes?
I feel like the Destiny line was another clear "upping the ante" point for Mega. The Destiny stuff looks fantastic, and feels like a clear meshing of the best aspects of the CoD and updated Halo lines, with even more attention to detail.
There's not a ton I like mixing between them, but I do love their sidearms actually being able to be holstered.
John Matrix without the facepaint?
Anybody build anything lately? Just put this togethet while helping to watch my sister's kids the other night.
Does anybody have an opinion on the Macfarlane build sets?
I am super excited for pic related but I don't know anything about the line.
>>6209552
Lucky bastard.
I love the MH megablox but everything is still full price around where I live.
>>6214136
Ick. So that's why Lego didn't have the license.
So the question is: Can Banbao stop sucking long enough to make these?
>>6214194
>>6214145
I don't think lego could make such angular characters work.
A minifig Pearl would likely be a fucking nightmare.
Other than the sloppy paint the Macfarlane minifigs look pretty alright to me so far.
>>6214201
>A minifig Pearl would likely be a fucking nightmare.
In what way? You don't even need a molded head to get a good Pearl. I've got a couple Pearls in my nook that prove that.
>>6214208
I feel like it just wouldn't look right witout a raised gem and a nose.
A printed nose would probably look pretty bad.
Also Lego is pretty bad with different heights.
Garnet would be the same size as everyone else or just have some studs on her feet.
>>6214231
Like Lego Friends?
That would actually work pretty well.
I forgot about that line honesty
>>6214241
Yeah, Minidoll for Porl. Hulk or Axl for Jasper. Blue flame wings for Lapis. Short figure for Steven, Amethyst, and Peridot. Garnet might need her own thing. Or just a huge fro piece and big gloves on a normal minifig.
>>6211639
confirmed for perfect figure
>>6214272
fucking australians
>>6214241
The chest is actually a clever build, I'm gonna steal that
>>6202720
>Hulk or Axl for Jasper.
That sounds amazing.
She would be a smidge out of scale but Jasper changed heights a lot anyway.
A slightly modded Hulk would also make a great Bismuth.
Fuck.
Now I am sad that this isn't happening.
>>6214194
>>6214200
You know, for a second, I thought these were bootlegs. I can't believe a company that Lego successfully sued in court for copyright infringement now has the Peanuts license. What retailers are going to want to carry these sets?
>>6215545
Uh, that's not Lite Brix. It's Banbao. Different company.
>>6215559
Oh, doy. But I bet a bunch of folks will carry them.
I wouldn't mind getting the Snoopy doghouse and typewriter, but compatibility issues between Banbao elements and other brands really kill my interest in getting anything else.
I'm a little shocked they didn't try to make this a set.
Anybody have experience with Brictek blocks? I was out shopping tonight and found two parts kits at 50% off clearance - wheels and tires, and pic related. Even at 50% off, it seemed way too expensive for off-brand: $9.99! Just looking for opinions.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv6964BYjBw
>>6218458
at that point just buy a 10-15 dollar actual lego set
>>6221639
I guess the attraction was maybe getting a box of window and door parts - things that I don't have many in my collection. They don't show up too often on my Lego store's PAB wall, either. Lego doesn't sell anything similar, do they?
>>6221810
>Lego doesn't sell anything similar, do they?
They use to, but I don't know anymore...
>>6221810
those are cheap parts to bricklink
>>6218458
If there's any relation to Block Tech, then it is pure shit. Basically just a small step above Best Lock.
You guys are smart, anyone know how to get these type of minifigs in bulk on Aliexpress?
>>6216115
>>6223997
Search for "Woma" under the Blocks section.
Mind you, Woma/Jubilux is a bootleg of a bootleg of a bootleg.
>>6224169
Interesting that those figs have elbow joints instead of wrist joints.
I looked up some more info on Creative Kids; couldn't find anyone selling them on Ali, though.
Had a laugh when I saw this.

>twelve bucks for $1.50 worth of product AND free shipping!
I guess if you don't live near a Dollar General and really want to pay Lego prices for garbage sets this is a good deal.
>>6202720
Came back here from a long absence because I wanted to know if Mega Bloks Ass Creed is still dead.
Can't believe they actually killed the line before making Altair.
>>6223024
You know, I thought that Block Tech and Brictek were distinctly different entities, but I'm beginning to suspect that they share a common ancestor. There's definitely a connection between My Blox and Brictek.
>>6223997
Not bulk, but you can get three without the blocks:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JXM0812/
>>6224237
They were going to! They were one release away from an Altair + Templars set. And i curse them everyday for not making it a reality.
>>6225852
>nine bucks for three figs
Ehhhhh... thanks for the link, though!
So if I'm seeing all this correctly:
My Blox is a knockoff of Brictek, which is a knockoff of WOMA, which is a knockoff of ??????
Is there some visual guide for all the different Chinese clone brands? The closest I've seen is that Robot Chicken skit.
>>6226072
Well, it's more like My Blox and Brictek probably source their elements from Woma the same way Hasbro sourced their elements from Oxford for Kre-O.
There's a .pdf called "Communist LEGO" that's floating around the web that purports to be an analytic survey of Chinese clone brands. It's not terribly well-written, there's no objective criteria for evaluation, there's a sickening bias for Lego, and worst of all, the author tries too hard to be funny. On the other hand, the document does have some information about from where some foreign brands originate. In that respect, it isn't completely worthless.
>>6226166
>Well, it's more like My Blox and Brictek probably source their elements from Woma the same way Hasbro sourced their elements from Oxford for Kre-O.
I see. Pretty new to clone brands in general besides some stuff I got from Ali last summer for pic related. The reason I asked is because the Woma arms are not the same; everything else looks to be pretty much identical, but I can't tell whether the Woma stuff just has better lighting and photography, or if it's actually a better mold.
>There's a .pdf called "Communist LEGO" that's floating around the web
Definitely going to look this up, thanks!
The new X-Agents stuff is killer I think I'm going to get this base.
Any other cool non-lego bases out there? Like military or otherwise?
>>6225865
The amount of times Mega Bloks has cucked us is too far....my entire life I ahve been waiting for a Templar Minifigure from them, but....
Did people not like or buy enough Ass Creed sets? Why do you think it was cancelled?
>>6227691
Enlighten's most recent themes have featured a few base-type sets.
>>6227691
I love that these are literally just unlicensed Tron sets. Like no joke, that's awesome
>>6228667
Speaking of enlighten, these look really good.
First time here. Looking to order a knock-off Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure from aliexpress.
What should I expect in terms of quality? I've ordered KO Lego Minifigs before and they were acceptable. I dunno what to expect from more complex builds.
>>6228833
They are good anon
>>6228027
I've never heard confirmation, but I would bet it's because of the movie. Probably resulted in a reshuffling of the licenses, and future Assbloks were cancelled. It looks like they were just at the CGI prototype stage, anyway.
>>6228027
>Did people not like or buy enough Ass Creed sets? Why do you think it was cancelled?
I know I saw a few sets hit the clearance aisle, but I wouldn't say it was a lot.
>>6228907
Yeah, my only real complaint is that the printing on the armour piece of my Teutonic Knight was offcenter and that's just luck of the draw with this sorta stuff
>>6228916
I googled a Mega Bloks Ass Creed, and got into a page for one of their products. When I clicked "Assassin's Creed" the page was blank.
I think it is over
>>6202720
OP, here. Look what came in the mail the other day~! I just put a few together to see how well they go together, and there's some good and bad.
>>6229751
The lightcycle has an undocumented hoverbike mode. Note that the Lego Dimensions stand is not included.
>>6229753
This one was a minor disappointment. This four-wheeler came with the wrong number of parts. It should have come with three 1x2 plates with handle, but it came with three 1x2 plates with clips instead. It still looks okay, but the stud-shooters are just loosely stuck in the chassis as a consequent.
>>6229760
It's worth mentioning that there are no stickers used in any of these sets. Any piece with a design on it is printed. Also, clutch power is almost too tight. It takes a little more "oomph" than usual to get some elements to go together.
>>6229762
Looking at the minifigure. there's some good and bad here as well. The blue hairpiece is made of soft, rubbery plastic like a Lego minidoll hairpiece. There's also a hole in the top that will accept minidoll and minifigure hair accessories. The back of the torso is printed as well.
Kazi, for some reason, decided to go proprietary with their lower torsos. Instead of using two pegs, the waist sort of clips into the upper torso. You may have also noticed that some minifigures aren't properly seated in their vehicles, and that's not by accident. These minifigures will not sit on studs. Either the spacing is off on the back of the legs, or the holes are not uniformly sized. As much as I tried, I could not get them to sit.
If you've got other questions about these sets, feel free to ask them.
>>6229753
>>6229778
Hair looks like it might just be a bootleg of this Friends hair piece.

>IS-2M
I lost one issue of BoB magazine and can't build it.
>>6234926
The BoB magazines each contain parts for a certain build, yes?
Ordered an IS-3 yesterday, pretty hype for it.
>>6234996
Yes. IS-2M was with 6 last issues and I'm missing the second to last one.
I remember I bought it but somehow I couldn't find it after I bought the last one.
Also I saw tan and green Hanomag in the store today. The build looks the same as grey one but it has an anti-tank canon mounted instead of machine gun.
>>6235007
I really wish they'd release a Grant/Lee, Churchill and T-70.
The only time i've ever seen these in person on sale was at the Tank Museum down south. I've ordered everything else online.
>>6235053
They will probably make those someday but at least you can have Stuart and Patton.
I'm waiting for Elephant (although 400 pieces seems a little too low).

I kind of want that one too. I want those more than any current Lego sets.

>>6246126
I should have been more clear:. Can anyone point me to an AliExpress seller who currently has all the X-Agents stuff in stock?
Got these Dargo bots a while back. BB-8 came with an Imperial Astromech droid, but it's not friends with the others.
The one on the right is C3-P0. You may not recognize him with the red arm.
These bootlego figures seem pretty good quality. I especially like the printing on 3-P0's body. Unfortunately the good is offset by the bad aim on his eye paint apps.
>>6248235
Dargo's pretty hit or miss, I've had worse though. In pic the only non-Dargo are Thor and Iron Man (Elephant) and Mandarin (Sheng Yuan). Dargo had a weird obsession with translucent figs in some of the sets I found, Wolverine has the wrong hair and claws and Deadpool's legs are really loose but they were cheap and amusing.
>>6248880
PVC is cheaper than ABS plastic
speaking of translucent minifigs the Chinese just bootlegged these
>Anatomini and Short Circuit from minifigures.com
>Sugar skull and zombie torso from Citizen Brick
>female anatomical Jason Freeny
>>6248880
I got this Wolverine from Dargo just a few days ago. I am fairly disappoint. His claws are wrong, and the hair may be correct, I just don't like it.
Hey, look! Today I got a Star Wars... trooper of some kind, I imagine. Came with extra pieces to make him a rack for his extra equipment, and also a spare right arm.
Not bad to use as a grunt or a crowd filler, but even a cursory glance shows the leg printing is pretty far off center, and the printing of the goggles on the helmet looks like it went on too high.
Don't know what company it's from.
>>6249493
That guy is hilarious, wouldn't mind a squad of them for reasons.
Here's a few various Star Wars guys, from left to right we have Imperial Pilot (CB Toys), Imperial Officer (LELE), Clone Pilot (Sheng Yuan), Clone Trooper (LELE), another Clone Trooper (CB Toys), another Imperial Officer (CB Toys), Neimoidian Honor Guard (Sheng Yuan), Battle Droid (Sheng Yuan) and Astromech Droid (Sheng Yuan). Of the three companies Sheng Yuan is clearly the best, with LELE the worst and CB Toys somewhere in the middle. I've also found some by BELA and they're just about on par with Sheng Yuan. CB Toys seems to be a strong believer in small arms as every fig has come with at least two, amusingly they like to issue lightsabers to almost everyone (Han Solo included).

I found a vending machine locally with just Brick Ops in it. So far i have 1 vehicle, 1 set of guns, 1 set of accessories, and 5 figures. All made of good, solid, plastic but the figures suck because they have 3 pts of articulation. Bah! I'm still totally willing to feed that machine $.75 a time for more accessories, guns, and the other 2 vehicles, though.
>>6245642
Well, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered this. I guess I'll just wait and see if the others become available.
>>6202720

Nice tank.
Would hit with the Panzerfaust.
What are some clone brand minifigs that are indistinguishable from genuine Lego? I mean indistinguishable, as in, "this company doesn't give a fuck about trademark violations". Basically I'm wondering which clone brand(s) could be used to pad out a minifig collection and not have any problems with gaps, etc.
I know the Communist Lego pdf mentioned at least one company that seemed to be producing genuine bootleg Legos with a design so similar that the author couldn't see any differences.
>bootleg Legos
Bootlegos
>>6250743
It seems like it would be hard to shop by brand. When I look for knockoff Star Wars minifigs, I just go by the photos of the individual pieces, not by their brands. I only know which ones are Dargo because their figs come with big base plates with their name on them.
There seem to be one or two companies who do knockoff CMFs. I've never been that interested in them yet, although I did buy a Hotdog Man who turned out to be not so hot

KAZI vs LEGO:
- KAZI hairpiece has a shiny glossy finish
- they're interchangeable, you can use the KAZI hairpiece on a LEGO minifigure and viceversa
- KAZI has more noticeable seams while LEGO are more subtle
- both have the pin hole but different injection point

That set was already tempting now, now I'll probably get it for sure. I just wish I could find a review of somewhere; I'm curious as to whether it opens up at all.
Hey, look! It's Dargo Superman!
With traditional bright colors and hair that flops over one eye and a sneering face and a hand gun, for some reason.
Dargo seems to think everyone should have an accessory, so even guys like the Hulk and Superman have guns.
Not a bad fig, for .60 USD.
>>6259480
>a hand gun
It's a blaster.
>>6259483
>blaster
My mistake. Superman needs a blaster.
>>6259559
Damn right he does.
How else is he gonna shot somebody with a laser?
>>6259567
I know you're joking, but I know there's been a lot of stories where Superman loses his powers, how does he continue to fight crime?
>>6259227
That set was never $32. The price was inflated just before the sale so it would look to the buyer like they were getting a hot deal. In actuality, the sale price is discounted maybe 10% or 20%.
Don't trust the Chinaman.
>>6259242
From what I can remember reading, the top is removeable, but there's very little space below deck.
Enlighten's official website has updated with a look at their new "Cherry" theme (basically their Friends theme). To be honest, there's nothing about these new sets that grabs me. Still, it could be of interest to those who collect minidoll-scale sets.
>>6259718
If he's on a world whose sun is a different colour he needs to defend himself.
I found an old Flak 36/37 in Carrfour. It was hidden behind a wall of newer Flaks, Long Toms and ZIS-3s.
Price was less than 4 euro so I bought it even though I already have newer one.
Although I would prefer to find an old one on wheels.
I also managed to finally build Puma and new Hanomag which has slightly different build (especially the back) than my BoB Hanomag.
Unfortunately I don't have the first one to compare it to.
>>6259880
It's funny how these box art shots are probably made using LDD. I suppose a CG render is a lot more appealing than an actual photo of the bricks.
LEPIN HAVE YOU NO SHAME

>>6262268
I'd buy a few just to get the plain blue suit with tie.
>>6262313
Just like the real thing
>>6262268
Not nearly orange enough.
>>6262592
YAAAS
>>6262268
I wish I could trust this render but the actual pieces are probably garbage quality.
>>6262592
The tie isn't long enough either. They need to print the tip over part of the legs to be truly authentic length.
>>6254541
First time I've seen these, I remember seeing 1 other Legend of Warcraft one and it wasn't this.
>>6254541
Where can I buy these? I'm in Australia and can only find stores in Chinese writing
Battleship sets were good for parts after they went on big time clearange after the movie tanked so hard. Things like the minigun barrels, those segmented tentacles the alien ships had, and those small launchers were all really nice.
>>6263761
That one army-builder set with three soldiers and a flying alien with a couple gun turrets hit Dollaramas here at $3 Cdn apiece, at the time amazon.ca listings were around $20 minimum. For a couple bucks less I ended up with six of them, a buddy later sent me a seventh and the attack helicopter.
Is there a bricklink type site for mega bloks?
>>6265455
Aside from eBay, no.

Anyone have any experience with these not-quite-zoids by Ausini? They looks pretty cool.
>>6265455
No, unfortunately

Ausini as a brand sukks munkey dik.
Can anyone here comment on Wange quality?
these wing pieces are tempting me.
Got that pack of bootlego Nexo Knight + little robot pairs.
Opened this one today. The guy on the right was not included.
Pretty decent knockoff. My only complaint is that the big guy's helmet face doesn't grip the helmet very tightly, so it comes off easily. Also, the belt print is a little off center.
I like the little chef-bot, though!
>>6266824
what is the guy on the right
where did you get it
>>6266835
He's one of a set of Ultraman minifigs I ran across when I first discovered bootlegos on AliExpress. I'm on my phone so I can't look them up for you. Their mobile site's search function is broken. Always brings up the same list of unrelated stuff no matter what you search for.
I'll get on my compy a little later and try and find it for you.

>>6266657
I had a Wange house. Bricks were ok and the figs were horrible.
I don't really like those plane sets as they look like they are made of entirely of specialist parts.
Anyone ever get a set from Sluban? Just ordered pic related for 7 bucks.
>>6267558
Sluban is the worst. Hope you enjoy it.
Their brick separators are totally adorable, though.
>>6267572
I'd never heard of them. I was just looking for robot sets and found it cheap. Do the pieces at least stay together?
>>6267575
Nnnnope. That's why they're the worst.
>>6267579
And I was thinking of getting pic related just for the bike and army green bits.
thanks for the warning anon
>>6267589
Get the Enlighten version. I have it and it's awesome.
>>6267579
Shiiiiiiiiiiit
>>6267572
See, this was what I had heard, too. Then I received one of their sets, and it was actually pretty good...? It was one of their newer sets, though. Maybe that accounys for the vast discrepancy in our experiences.
>>6267628
Perhaps. I got the blue jet liner and school bus sets and they both suuuuuuuuck.
Even the Vespa I picked up at tfny is falling apart all the time.
Either way, they're no Enlighten.
>>6267596
already got one on the way. Or I will when the seller ships it..
and I thought waiting for bricklink orders was bad.
>>6266824
Opened these little guys today. The face of the helmet clicks on more securely. The printing is a tiny bit off center but not outside Lego's tolerance. The print on the shield piece is really washed out, though. White on veeery light blue.
>>6267558
I have a hard time believing that sword arm won't just fall off under it's own weight.
>>6267575
>>6267558
Got this set. Falling apart is one of the last things you have to worry about. However the other extreme is true. It's sometimes too tight for children to take apart and rebuild. You better have strong and steady hands.
Colors don't match the standard Lego palette. In particular the yellow on the box art is some color of egg yolk orange on the pieces themselves.
>>6267628
If the box had this logo then it's a newer set.
The one notable change they made is the minifigure with ball-joint neck and wrist, and swivel hips. Old sets reissued with this logo come with the newer minifigures.
Do y'all fine negroes just mix all the different brands together or keep them separated?
>>6269343
>Mixing the brands.
I mean, if I can create an interesting MoC, but otherwise I store them apart.
>>6269343
I mix them all together. Too much hassle to keep them all separated but when building stuff i try to find a Lego piece first.
>>6269343
As much as I consider myself a brick agnostic, I do keep brands separated for the most part. For one, clutch can be different from brand to brand despite the claims of compatibility with "all major brands." Second, element colors can vary from brand to brand and sometimes from set to set in the same brand. I will mix unusual parts from different brands if whatever I'm building calls for it, though.
I do mix the cheap stuff together for casual garbage builds. Block Tech, My Blox, other no-name crap that I find at discount chains - all in the same bin.
>>6269343
I keep mine all in one box, sorted by colour in zip lock bags. Maybe 1/3 is lego, the rest is made up from all kinds of chinese brands I've seen in shops from time to time.
>>6269882
>Sorting by color.
Sort by shape, bruh.
>>6270130
Sort by part number, bray.

>>6271431

actually.. is there some way of getting rid of mold injection marks like those in front of the turret? Sometimes they bug me.
>>6271527
other than gluing the bricks together, I don't know.
>>6271527
Probably either sandpaper to get rid of the nubs, or paint.
So do y'all order your bricks from Aliexpress, and if so, how is the experience?
>>6251300
Thats surprisingly not terribly animated
Anybody gotten this set?
>>6271572
>So do y'all order your bricks from Aliexpress, and if so, how is the experience?
wee bit on the slow side so far, but these are my first two Aliexpress orders
>>6235007
They sell bob issues individually online
>>6271803
I know but I just need to find the one I got.
Also I bought
>Sd.Kfz. 222
>3.7cm PAK 36
>2 cm FLAK 38
recently. This means my grey convoy is half completed.
>>6271300
I believe Sembo and Sheng Yuan are brands from the same manufacturer, so the quality should be decent.
>>6271572
>So do y'all order your bricks from Aliexpress, and if so, how is the experience?
Just won my first order dispute! Ordered back in February (after New Year). Two months later, the delivery window closed: no order. The seller had given me a bogus tracking number. Checking recent feedback, it turns out other buyers were reporting the same thing. The seller had pulled all their listings or they got suspended. Bad vibes.
So I filed a dispute asking for a refund. The seller sends a counter offer: "The goods are on their way. Wait an additional fifteen days! Please be patient!" I think two months is patient enough, so I reject the counter offer. AliExpress steps in to mediate five days later. Aliexpress finds in my favor, of course. However, they inform me that it may take up to 21 days to refund my card...!
I should reiterate that this is my first negative experience with a seller on Aliexpress. All of the other sellers that I've dealt with have delivered the goods on time, every time. Feedback score and years in business are not accurate indicators of service. Look at the most recent feedback.
OH SNAP
>>6272178
>>6272116
I'm in the middle of working through a minor bug with my third AliExpress order ever. It came surprisingly fast (8 days after placing the order, I've had stuff take longer just to cross the province here) and everything was good except they mistakenly sent me two of the same Captain Hydra when I'd ordered one each of the two available types, one with red white and black shield, the other red and black shield. I'm waiting to hear back and see what they'll do about it.
The fast shipping is quite the contrast to my two previous orders, I'd made the mistake of ordering right around Chinese New Year last year and they took over a month to arrive but other than that there were no problems.
>>6262268
Wrong skin color, though I do appreciate the hint of inverted raccoon around the eyes. The tie is entirely too small.
Otherwise spot on.
>>6245603 Woohoo! Finally found a working listing for this set! Just ordered this from UMELIE block company. I've wanted this thing for weeks.

>CobiLoot 002.jpg
>>6274187
How do I order these? I can't find any Cobi products on Aliexpress
>>6274195
Amazon, ebay or Cobi site I think.
They're in stores in my country so I don't need to order them online.
It's been 'awaiting shipment' for over a week now. Is that common?
>>6274751
What, on Ali? That's uncommon. I've ordered from there over a dozen times and the sellers always ship within a couple days. I've only had one individual minifig actually take the 20-39 days to get to me, and that was very abnormal.
>>6261807
How well does this work? Per ebays policy they don't tolerate any type of counterfeit product so it seems like an easy con.
>>6274758
thanks anon. I'm new to Ali so have no clue what to expect.
It shipped this morning, at least. Now to wait and hope it's not one of those cases where the tracking number never works and seller says it's okay just wait a little bit longer, like until the dispute period expires
>>6275814
For what it's worth, I've never had this happen.
What happens much more with me is that I forget to confirm that the order was received, so I keep getting pestered to confirm goods received.
But that's just my own inattentiveness.
>>6271300

I've been eyeing this set for a while. Should I do it?

I knew I had seen this somewhere before. Good catch. It wouldn't be the first time a Chinese brand has lifted designs from Oxford. I'm pretty sure Sluban has been boosting from Oxford for years.
Which leads us to an interesting question: How likely is it that a brand like Lepin will ever create anything original? We've seen Enlighten branching out to make its own themes now that they've had some success. Will it entirely be dependent on Lego's lawsuit against Lepin?

Today I got a bootlego Imperial Guard. It's a good enough fig, with slightly loose hips clutch, but the friction in the hip and arm joints is fine.
I really don't understand why the dark red arms and hands, though. Otherwise, it's a perfect stand-in for the real thing.
Yes, the weapon is upside down. I like it better as a staff (which guards have) than a... Whatever it's supposed to be when they hold the black part. A heavy-handled truncheon or something, I don't know.
Anyway, there's my mini review.
CustomIze Minifigures Intelligence Facebook page has photos from Enlighten's showcase at a Chinese toy fair. Two fantasy themes! First one is a Warcraft-inspired theme.

Doing well. For about ten minutes.
Okay, there aren't THAT many pieces here, but I can't find these two flat-topped 1x3 plates.
ragequit.whebbem
So yeah, I'm coming out of a dark age and I'm kind-of a pussy still, but goddamn, it shouldn't be this hard to find these pieces. Is it possible that the set really did come without all these different parts?
Captcha: fucking "calle" again.
