My SHF Rogue One Stormie and Hover Tank Commander's still waiting to ship. Hope they live up to expectations.

I got two Rogue One troopers.

They have the Mafex beat overall but they're still not perfect. I would've liked them to be a bit taller, and the elbow bend is rather disappointing.

Reviews are in. Mafex has destroyed Figuarts once again.

How can they recover?

I was bummed about the elbows too, but they have zero problems shouldering their guns so I don't really mind it. I'm pretty happy overall, the only thing I think they really NEEDED was more head range. Their previous troopers have all had great articulation there but noticeably long necks, so that's probably why they changed it.

Just picked up a black series K-2SO, and a figuarts shoretrooper and battle droid showed up from amiami today as well.

I was at walmart and bought a black series captain phasma, but she's in a scarif stormtrooper squad leader box for some reason. Is that a common thing for toys to end up in the wrong packaging?

Got Black Series Chirrut and Baze in last week. They're pretty fantastic! Their outfits and accessories look great, Chirrut's soft goods are well executed (kinda wish Baze's mini-cape were soft goods too), and the poseability is fair.

Though the face sculpts are a bit soft (Baze's in particular), the likenesses are quite good, leagues better than Cassian or Jyn's. Paint apps are great too, even their eyes are straight, wow!

Stiff enough that it doesn't flop around on it's own (haha...), but pliable enough to easily stay plugged in without getting pulled out by the pressure of having to bend around to plug into the backpack/gun.

Left is RotJ, right is Rogue 1. Two different helmet designs. They fixed all the asymmetry for the R1 Stormtrooper design and it looks kind of off as a result.

In fact the entire suit does - torso is off, belt is wrong, etc. Glad Figuarts mostly stuck to the classic design for the figure.

Probably shouldn't have even attempted this. With Jabba you've gotta break up the sculpt for articulation that doesn't do enough to justify it. The Black Series was overpriced as hell, but it was definitely the better choice after going on clearance for fifteen bucks.

They have been up to now. Their only good releases to date are Darth Vader, First Order Stormtrooper, Boba Fett and the C3PO/BB8 two-pack.

Their R2D2 is also excellent but the earlier C3PO release it comes with is widely regarded as one of the worst import figures ever released.

Just finished the K-2SO model and added it to the shelf. I don't normally collect non OT figures but I liked the design and it's technically OT era plus it was fun to build.

Got Mafex kylo.

He's pretty good. Best face I've seen on a mafex so far.

Bigger than the SHF, which is great, cloth hood is great, kinda puzzled why only the front flaps of his robes are wired, and even then only on one side.

Also got Mafex Kylo in the mail today. The left shoulder joint snapped the first time I tried to move it.

I really loved that take on old man Fett realizing how pointless going after Han is. Especially after EP7 revealed that Han is still in fact a loser forever.

I didn't really know where else to ask this other than a Star Wars General thread, I guess, but-

I'm looking for the best Bounty Hunter figures, around the same size. I want the six ones from Empire, so, Boba Fett, IG-88, Dengar, Bossk, Zuckuss and 4-LOM.
There's plenty of figures of all of them, but there's no toy lines that has all of them. At least, as far as I'm aware. And that's kind of a big bummer, since I want them all around the same size.

Got a couple of Medicom RAH's this week.

Can't say I recommend them. The stormtrooper is literally falling apart and the articulation sucks. Can't get either of them to bend their elbows into a good shooting pose and I'm too scared of breaking/tearing anything so they're staying as they are for the foreseeable future.

The figuarts is obviously gonna blow the black series out when it comes to articulation. The double elbows and universal wrists alone let him do far more stormtrooper-y stuff, like actually posing with his gun. The only areas where the black series has it beat are the knees and ankles in particular, which are very limited on the shf. That, combined with his tiny feet makes him a little frustrating to stand, honestly.

And yeah, the variants are basically the same mold with different accessories. I see the riot troopers and heavy gunners floating around mandarake for about 5-6k pretty frequently, if I didn't already have enough I'd bite on those in a minute.

The elbows and neck are lame, the extra weapons are great, and everything else is on par with their other troopers. The hips are weird as fuck, but they do the job. Overall I love it, and I'm gonna try to toss a couple more to pad out an order if they ever show up on mandarake again.

Update: I took the armor off so I could unzip the undersuit on the stormtrooper. Like I feared, the left shoulder joint was crumbling apart, multiple cracks and missing pieces, looks like it had already been "fixed" before.

I had to break the damn thing off so I could free up the articulation, the joint is mounted on the screw but there's nothing there to hold it any more, thankfully the undersuit does a decent enough job of keeping it secured. Ironically he now poses better than ever, and can actually hold his gun properly.

Marmit Fett is actually great especially considering it's a 15-year-old toy, more accurate than even the Hot Toys in places. The only major mod it requires is heating up and flaring out the base of the helmet.

Their troopers are out-of-this-world accurate, however. Apparently they're the only toy company to date that have been allowed to actually borrow real costumes and props for reference, and it shows.
