What do /lg/ think of Ultra Agents?
It came out during my dark age, but I recently found some at my local store, and it looks quite interesting.
What set would you rather recommend:
70163 Toxikita toxic meltdown for ~ 35$ or
70164 Hurricane heist for ~ 50$ ?
Are these sets even worth the price?
>>
>>6143560
>70163 Toxikita toxic meltdown for ~ 35$

nice minifigs and parts, even if the helicopter looks like a piece of crap; I'd buy it for 35.
>>
>>6143560

I'd say no. Most of those Nexo-knights or Ninjago themes are really only wanted for parts on the 2nds market. Ultra Agents lacks aesthetics that Ninjago sets have.

If you want MOC parts then it's best to buy them used, of which there will be a few because parents buy crap like that for muh kids and then sell it when muh kids go to college.

Things like this usually get discounted pretty heavily.

Someday i will have my lucky day when a parent of such kid will just give me ALL OF LEGO FOR FREE.
Man how i want that.

You dont even know how many parents simply throw Lego away into garbage "because its just a bunch of toys".
At least parents of my age because our parents were kind of...not very smart about Lego value.
(im 30lvl and back in early-mid 00s many parents of our generation simply threw those Space/Knights kingdom lego away or gave it all for free).
PS:
I saw a guy who got picrelated set for free "because our kid is too old for this already".

>contains rare licensed minifigures
>contains rare minifigures

guaranteed rise x2 in price after retirement
>SW
>modulars
>ideas and exclusives
>licensed from big licenses
>uncommon minifigure scale "city" themes (winter village, scuba, arctic)

perpetually popular
>city sets that perform rare functions (mail, food carts, buses)
>anything with an abundance of rare parts or minifigure accessories
>aesthetic buildings in sets from any theme

>Theres like three of that mammoth at my local TRU. They have been sitting there for at LEAST two years now that I know of.
Im from Europe. From a small town. I saw it in Cologne back in 2015 and then only in online stores.
>What are they worth to you?
Mammoths? I like mechanical animals.
Other sets?
Well...it was the start of lego interest to me.

To be honest i thinkthe rest of 3 are not actually "grails" - the real Grail is that "Knights Castle".
I had a major jaw-drop as a kid when i saw that in our store.
Also we had tons of ads about this giant castle on the TV.
But i knew for sure that i cant even think about getting it back then - it was way too big and expensive.

It's had some harder sci fi stuff like all the treaded-and-tracked stuff from the Volcano series last year, but that's actually a good point, yeah- that type of thing is usually its own separate theme with City being your standard Police/Firefighter fare.

Neither, that helmet is white.

The grey/bley split refers to the color of the pieces themselves, not the color of the printing.

There's also one shade in between dark and light that you see somewhat rarely, and sometimes one shade of super light grey that's lighter than light grey or light bley but not quite white. Lego is weird.

Neptune Discovery Lab, Deep Freeze Defender, and Medieval Market Village. The latest brick Bounty with the updated Redbeard might qualify too since I always wanted a ship.

I had the chance to choose between the Neptune Discovery lab and Exploriens Spaceship for my birthday, but chose the latter. I totally agree with this guy >>6144210

That's cool.. I should try something like that. I also have all the pieces for Witch's Magic Manor, which was a shitty set. Maybe I can make something cool out of that, too. And the pieces for a few of the bigger wild west sets. I sadly had a house fire during my summer between 8th and 9th grade, so I lost all of my original Crusaders/Black Knights/Black Falcons/Dragon Masters/Pirates (including Imperial Trading Post)/M-Tron/Space Police/Blactron/Ice Planet stuff. It sucks because it happened like 4 days after I bought a giant collection from a friend who "outgrew" his.

Then I started over with Exploriens, Dark Forest, Fright Knights, etc. A lot of that stuff is still at my mom's house but I want to grab the bricks and do something with them. Already brought all the minifigs home with me several years ago.

Also, Deep Freeze Defender is GOAT. I miss that one, Wolfpack Tower, and King's Mountain Fortress most of all.

>Hey, to the Anon that made this and other billboards, what's your process?
Well, my pictures are normally 800x600 with a resolution of 180 pixels/inch. The billboards are 400x600, which translates to almost exactly 14 studs wide and about 7 studs high. I use a slide cutter to make sure the edges are straight, but even then you sort of have to eyeball it and trim to fit, so you might want to print a few copies in case you mess up cutting it out.

If you build a billboard like mine, the top and bottom pieces are 17 plates apart. They're listed as "plate, modified with door rail" on Bricklink:

http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4510
http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32028

I just used these types because it was what I had on hand, but I'm sure somebody can come up with a better build.

>How do I swap the arms of minifigs and/or remove the legs from the pelvises without damaging them
Just pop them off quickly. Don't hesitate, you'll stress the plastic!

For arms, take the head and legs off the torso first, then turn the arm so it's at about a 45 degree angle relative to the neck. Hold the torso with your dominant hand, and pinch the arm with your other thumb and forefinger as close to the armpit as you can and snap the two pieces apart like you're breaking a wishbone. Don't go slowly!

For legs, just hold them tightly by the waist and pull straight out away from the hip.

And with this, I've got a full set of the Lapzerz Tribe for last thread's Mixel challenge!

From left: Payseez, Fanzeez, and Chexeez

They all share the same color palette - the only reason I picked these colors is because I only had the dome piece used as Payseez's helmet in yellow and dark green, but I had a 2x3 slope with the racing number in yellow, so that's their scheme. Yellow, green, red, black, white, light bley, dark bley, silver.

Chexeez's trophy doesn't match, but since I gave Fanzeez a hot dog bun I figured that meant it was OK to use tan axle-pins in his wheels.

Chexeez originally had yellow flowers, but then I realized that red was an option.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge, so thanks to whoever suggested it in the first place

What's the best way to sort a large (3-4 20G tub) collection?

Also best way to dust your display?
>>
>>6144776
Start by sorting them into broad groups (bricks, plates, misc.) and then resort into a more elaborate system later. It's a long process to get through, but you'll be a lot happier once you get it all sorted because it's a LOT faster to build things, and you can actually achieve the things you're thinking about before resentment over not being able to find a certain piece sets in or you find another piece that gives you an idea for another moc that you'll never make.

So what do you print them on? I assume some sort of decent paper?
At home? Kinkos? Etc?
I also realize the space I've left for my screen is about 12 studs, so I'll have to make some alterations to the size on some things(Since I don't have the space for a larger screen), but I think it'll all work out.
Thank you so much!

Making a Sky Pirates crew - they will be living/riding that Misfortune Keep i ordered on discount in previous thread.
So cant wait to get it. I honestly can't remember when i was excited about getting Lego in 10-15 years.
1) Captain with cyborg-leg
2) Ship Doctor (he's from germany)
3) Mechanic
4) Gunner Lady (she will be firing and operating all cannons on that giant ship)
5) Runaway Kid that does random jobs but mostly does messages and navigation + he has a Seagull Pet

+ other pirates from standart Ninjago sets except that weird tall orange dude with 4 arms and "ghost legs" - ill put him away.

Ughhhhh the waiting is killing me. Set should be arriving here during 30 January.
I also need some to order "pilot torso" and hats i think to enlarge the crew and make some bad guys.
However bad guys will be probably some sort of Sky Police.

that would be that seagull - she will be stealing food/guns/accidentally dropping dynamite somewhere where it should not be fallen

Wolf is too easy, too on the nose. You should do something a little more unexpected, like a bear.

These are my pirates. From left to right:
Nigel is the lookout. He's the only one small and light enough to fit comfortably in the crow's nest, and has eyes like a falcon.
Gordon is the cook. He can make nutritious meals even when there is nothing from which food can be made, but don't ask how he does it.
Charles is the first mate. He has a photographic memory and knows hundreds of maps to the finest detail.
Brickbeard is the captain. He has seen some shit over the years, and always knows what to do.
Sarah is the spy. She is a master of disguise, speaks many languages fluently and can convincingly pretend to be a local in any port.
Edward is the cannoneer. He is strong enough to lift a thousand pounds from the ground, and may or may not be the strongest man in the world.
Michael is the musketeer. He's a fantastic marksman, and can fire his musket as accurately as one would a modern rifle.
Together, they sail the seven seas and take whatever treasure they can find.

London Toy Fair was Today:
New themes are Cars 3 (nine sets),Sports(12 sets) Pirates of the Carribean(only one set),Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi sets(we signed a contract, that means we can not tell what we have seen, but I can say that we get 8 sets).
Sports:The line consists around some gimmick, the sets aren't licensed, only soccer sets are licensed but they have yellow face.
Cars 3:Some cool sets here, they have a lot of functions, there are three small sets, one car and launcher.
Pirates of the Carribean:Only one big set with ship,it has a ghost shark,6 ghost pirates,captain salazar,jack sparrow,will turner,his son,other pirates that I don't know.
City has coast guard sets and Jungle.
The Jungle line consists around collecting gold, there are ancient ruins, the biggest is an ancient temple with an panther,in other sets are also tigers, the starter set includesa small ruin with gold mould, three explorers and one tribe warrior that attacks them! It has also snakes, spiders and a parrot. The smallest set is a buggy, one explorer, chimpanzee, small build with gold and table with something writen on.There is a cargo plane, another ruin with gold, tiger and explorers. There is a mobile laboratory,it looks like the one from volcano wave but in yellow,it has a gorilla!,explorers, ruin, bananas, gold! The rescue set includes two tribal warriors, explorers, one tiger, yellow hellicopter, ruin and gold.

If they simply made fangs that fit like a beard round the neck, they could be MOCed into a self made walrus tribe with the elephant faces from the ice/fire theme. If they actually did how ultron's head was two parts, a neck piece and helmet to make a complete head, it could have opened much more part swapping options

Oh...so you will never be able to use some minifig-parts that you would put on minifig-neck like those "captain-shoulders/armor" or..

Because with that beard-piece it will make it look so weird

Crows and vultures work. The beak is fine printed, it doesn't need to be cartoonishly massive like with the helmet piece.

Crocs and wolves you got a point though.

It was temporary marker, easily washable

Check it heres my idea. Instead of the easier one cast, mot too many pieces to loose method lego went for, I made some shoops and high lighted some areas showing what could have been. The yellow area high lighted on the right would be all that shows from the minifig face, with the red lines separating the helmet into two pieces. Now imaging if they did do this, the croc helmet could have been recycled for other themes in other various colors ala black for a motorcycle gang, or brownsih red for a juggernaut style helmet/boxing. Just my two cents

This. If you want a rare minifig but don't want to pay full cracklink price, just slowly order it in pieces. It's almost always cheaper than paying for the convenience of getting all the pieces together at once.

So its okay for Cityfags to complain about other sets and blame other people tastes for being "not too serious/realistic/too childish unlike mine kewl modulars with normal looking humans"
BUT
Its not okay for other themes-builders to complain about City-Fags complaining about their tastes?

Basically a:

i have asked employees before at the store close to me about that, and the pick a fig, and the answer is basically "when we get them/start to run out of the old pieces"
the release date for pick a model, isnt a hard set one, they want to start to get rid of previous stuff first obviously.

they dont need to get rid of everything, since theres like 4 "zones" on each wall though, and parts from old models can be shoved in a different zone

i would honestly just say call and ask though. most lego store dudes are nice, and they'll tell you if they have an idea of when anyway
