But seriously, what the hell is all this in TR Blaster's back for?

peg on the shoulder and butt are for shared-mold soundwave to mount his gun, peghole on the lower right is to store the rifle, the four offset tabs on the butt are for ramp connections with other base modes.
>>

They're obviously for the ramps. Are Hasbrocucks this stupid?

For the ramps, the guns (including Soundwaves), USB ports.

Do it. work hard through the years and advance your way up from a lowly gofer to a TF design team member, then go from doing one-steps and titan heroes to doing RiD and Movie deluxes, and finally onto the Generations team. Painstakingly work on updating your childhood favorite, through strict budget constraints and manufacturing ordeals. All those years finally cumulating in a passion project. Then watch as someone on /toy/ says they're just going to wait for the superior Takara version, and a 3P releases an MP style update a year later, while your dream project Hasbro release gets discounted to $5 on HTS..

>>
>>6135874
He has not been out for years tho.
>>
>>6135874
Only speculation based on some info posted in a Funpub. The info stated that in the comics fiction, Computron upgrade wasn't originally including Afterburner as a limb, Afterburner would use a smaller body (Legends Groove). A new member (using the Rook mold with a new head, which may possibly be the alternate head the mold never used) would form the arm, then Afterburner would connect to it using the peg, the peg hole would be used to plug in the new members weapon (the one Rook uses). The story then goes on to say this was eventually scrapped, with Afterburner still being a limb, the new guy not being used, and Scrounge being added to the team to fufill that weird combo, but with Strafe.

diecast retired out of most kid marketed toys because it was bad. It's a mix metal that isn't all that strong, also like any metal once it starts to wear you can't fix it or tighten it. And then their is what happens when the paint chips.

I found wave 3 deluxes on the second most popular TRU, which blew me away since I rarely go there. I expected the one close to my house to get more stock (they're right next to the biggest mall in the area, and it's always full, yet they're always behind on transformers stock).

It was nice that it happened to be when they had a buy one, get one 40% special.

Huh. I just tried that back cannon config with Mindwipe and Apeface and it works pretty great. You can lock the wings on Apeface's arms under the "thumbs" of Mindwipe's back wings and it's actually really secure.

I really with that Bat Convoy set had been worth it to me money-wise, and if I didn't buy so many TFs it probably would have been. It looks great.

As for other titanmasters, they're all kind of worth it. For the price they're pretty worth while. Animal-wise, definitely Fangry, I know it's the same mold but Apeface is great, Shuffler looks amazing, all the "animals" are good.

Topspin has them, so I'm excited about that. Also Weirdwolf does.

What I don't understand is why when they don't have a flap to cover it, they insist on them folding out sidewise. Folding forward and having the hole on the back of the forearm is way better. It hide the hole more and up/down wrist tilt is actually useful for guns and swords.

The quality control on him is seriously abysmal. Paint chips, sprue marks, covered in nicks and scratches fresh out of the box, It's like they're used figures that belonged to an 8 year old being sold as new.

Sorry if this was brought up already recently, but I have a major question I've been wondering about.

Why is it so hard for Hasbro to match the paint colors to the plastic colors? Do they actually mass produce without testing it out a few times or something? It's usually the clear plastic parts that have paint colors that are obviously off.

Just curious why this is a common issue. Lack of caring? communication? No time to tryout a bunch of paints first?
>>
>>6137058
They know that kids don't care and the fans will just buy it anyway.
>>
>>6137058
Paint<>Plastic matching is quite time consuming. So yes, it's partly because they don't care much for the cheaper toys.
>>
>>6137058
It's also particularly hard to match lighter colors like yellow because they are translucent to some extent. In the case of bumblebee you can see the black plastic color bleeding through the yellow paint.
>>
>>6137068
This.

They probably Pantone match paint colours and plastic colours, but then the physical properties of the plastics in the toy mess things up.
>>
>>6137060
>>6137064
Ok, thanks. I thought it's a bit strange considering how much effort they put into designing these toys they just say fuck it at the end.

Impossible Toys 3P version, it's like $10 on BBTS now. Basically the G1 toy with better articulation, and it was one of the few good toys IT actually made(was too little too late to save the company though). Failing that, Classics isn't bad, and you can get the KO MP for around $30 if you don't mind the pointless arm kibble.

It happens to the expensive toys too.

MP Bee has like four incredibly distinct shades of yellow because he's all yellow paint on yellow plastic, black plastic, clear blue plastic and clear white plastic.

I guess yellow is just a color that looks terrible.
>>
>>6137224
It is. It's hard to fully cover plastic with the color yellow. The plastic tends to show through a little
>>
>>6137227
It's funny, they gob the yellow paint on the clear plastic parts so thickly that they end up having a richer yellow color than the actual yellow plastic.

MP Bee is really an unusual toy in many ways.

You can do it, but I dunno if a factory could, because I don't know a thing about factory stuff.

But I do have model painting experience. Basically, to do the color yellow over any kind of plastic (or metal), you generally need a white base coat fo primer followed by several thin coats of yellow, slowly building up until it reaches full opacity. Which takes a while, because you need to wait for a coat to fully dry before applying the next.

tl;dr Yellow is a shitty paint to work with.

Last week, we informed you that Simba Smoby will showcase their latest licensed Transformers die-cast vehicles at this year’s London Toy Fair. The toys include both Transformers: The Last Knight and Transformers: Robots In Disguise lines. Today, thanks to a small press material promoting the aforementioned Toy Fair, we have our first look at one of the products listed on our previous news post.

The company will manufacture a line of Transformers: Robots In Disguise 2-Packs for the year 2017; where a Die-Cast vehicle will come with an articulated figure of the character. The scanned pics we have are a bit small but official images may turn up pretty soon.

You can check out the images of Drift 2-Pack and Strongarm 2-Pack, after the jump. Other characters are not listed, but we believe Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and Sideswipe may receive the 2-pack treatment.

Guess what? Once you've unscrewed that, it is humanly impossible to put them back properly.

>>6136868
It's a really fucking good mold. Articulation is great, alt mode is neat, transformation is fun and interesting, and bot mode is everything you'd want from a Cybertronian pre-Prime Optimus. Plus, if you have Classics Prime, you can take Pax's axe and give it to Prime instead. That's what I did with mine because I felt the axe just didn't fit Pax (don't recall him ever even using it in the comics prior to becoming Prime anyway). Sadly, you can't do the same with the gun because it just doesn't fit in Prime's hands so he's stuck with the mediocre smokestack or windvane guns.

Although red is my preferred color for Frenzy.

He customizes most of them, either to remove the Headmaster feature, or turn it into another character. Many of them were those he didn't need for anything, and since selling them alone is a hassle, I get most of them for nothing.

Yeah, kinda. The details around the mouthplate are slightly above 7 mm apart from each other; using the neck as a reference then the head is too big to make the proportions work or to even fit inside when in vehicle mode.
I could go crazy and hunt down a T30 Brainstorm to put the face as the headmaster's backpack and take advantage of the Alternity gimmick, but I don't even like the look of T30 Arcana and it's designed differently anyways.

Cool, another RI person. I've been doing the same, but I'm a college student.

Get your foot in the door. The literal best thing you could do is attend the annual shareholder's meeting. That's what I've been doing for a few years, and it's landed me some interviews in the past by being able to talk with certain high-up individuals.

Also, heads up: If you ever are around on Thursday before 1 PM, walk in and ask about visiting hours for their personal toy shop. I've gotten in before, and it's small, but you can get some currently released figures for half price. Last time I was there I got deluxe Groove for 7 bucks. If you're ever around, check it out!
