Some of these models they show on brothers brick and on flickr are beyond crazy. is there really any tips or tricks when building something? You can literally go non stop and try all parts till it looks right, but the design in general, how is it done, where do you start? I know they sometimes take months to design, but I really want to build the Cain robot from Robocop2 and apparently the model itself was made to defeat counterfeiters, it looks very complex. I'm thinking about building the arm and hand first, just for practice.

I left the Lego Store a year ago today. I miss my employee discount.

>tfw the Batman Movie sets are bleeding me dry
>>
>>6102847
if a lego store opens up in my city im applying there day 1
>>
>>6102792
I have never bought a batman set in my life, only ogled the arkham set for the building and got the antman set for those wingpieces.

But quite a few of the legobatmanmovie sets are very appealing to me for the new bricks, rare colours, minifigure parts.
Some of the builds are definately interesting and do something new and wacky in rather specific and different style (even if that style prevents it to blend it with my own stuff, mostly due to scale)
I'll probably get atleast one bigger set and a selection of the cmfs. I'll have to see if it is cheaper to just bricklink specific parts of some other bigger sets or to buy them new and sell off the figures or things that i don't care about.
>>
>>6102833
I know. I'm already kind of sick of the movie and it's not even out.
>>
So I got a $100 lego gift card from my in-laws.

I want to try and gst at least 2 sets if possible with it. I don't mind spending a little extra out of poket if need be.

I was looking at the new AT-ST, but I'm torn on what else to get. I kinda dig thr stunt plane set for City with the truck that tows it. I was also eyeing the big space shuttle, but the general consensus on that seems to be that $120 for less than 600 pieces is a pretty big ripoff.

Any suggestions?
>>
>>6102833
It's marketing, they want to cash in on the hype regardless if the consumer can see the movie or not, even if a movie doesn't do that good they can still rake in the merch money to make up for it.

I put a sock over the vacuum nozzle and run it over all my stuff that's sitting out once a week. Or at least I try to. It's usually about once a month.

Never said it does, but it does for most people, and that's what the company cares about, those people that are hyped and blindly buy as much merch as possible.

good luck hunting! maybe you can call stores and have the staff hold you one or something?
>>
>>6102909
Went to target today looking for those polybags and turned up with nothing, all they had was mini kylo ren shuttles and small nexo knight baddie polybags. Also the LEGO aisle was horrible, just random sets strewn about the nearly empty shelves, save for some lego batman movie sets freshly put on the sets.

Manwhile, when i was at TRU the other day, they had 3 full boxes of lego batman movie CMF boxes put out.

I do like this, especially with the interesting shaping of the front fender. That said, I don't know how much more fruit this style of car will bear, and it might be fun to branch out to other cars. I'm a huge fan of 6 wide cars though, so maybe consider other six wide builds.

Also, do you have an album of all of them?

I use rubbing alcohol to clean stuff a lot. Can I use it on Legos? Or will it fuck with the plastic?
>>
>>6103095
Ethyl alcohol can eat into plastic, while isopropyl alcohol tends to be pretty easy on plastic. Rubbing alcohol means different things to different companies AFAIK, so read the the label and see which alcohols are in it.

Also, you can just be a scientist about it and try it out on some pieces you don't really care about, or just use a really dilute solution of dishwashing liquid and warm water to clean up your Lego.
>>
>>6103100
Well I don't want to use it if it messes with the plastic. Is there a better cleaner to use on Legos?
>>
>>6103103
I just use warm water and dish soap, which works for me, but that might harm stickers (I rarely apply stickers so I wouldn't know). If you don't want to disassemble your creations, maybe just dunk them or soak them in warm water with dilute dish soap, and then take a toothbrush to em to scrub them before rinsing.
>>
>>6103108
Okay that's not too difficult. Thanks, anon.

Those new arm pieces are insane. I wonder if you can swap the hands on the top-left one or if it's all one piece. If they're separate pieces, it's going to be a bold new era of weird bar-to-minifig hand connections.

This is a bliss to build so far.
There are already clever techniques all over it, like that upside down dome thingy, it has four golden stamps pieces and the upper end fits into some hollow studs.
I know I'm going to enjoy the fuck out of this set already and I'm not even halfway through it. A third to be precise.
Absolutely terrible pic related.

I recently got the Ghostbusters Firehouse and I am thinking about ways to bring pic related more in line with that set and with Assembly Square, but I don't want to use too many (if any) pieces from outside of the set.

I think that I might be able to turn it into a little (haunted) cottage.

Any ideas? Will also accept ideas for sets that come with helpful pieces in similar colours to flesh it out a bit.

An anon asked last thread about the dinosaur. Honestly, the dragon they released last year is a thousand times better than this dinosaur.

The legs are crappie. The feet are cool, but make it look more like a raptor rather than a T-rex.

The body is honestly too small for the size of the head. As a matter of fact, the head is so heavy that posing the damn thing can be a pain because it's so heavy toward the front and the tail doesn't weigh shit.

It looks okay enough to have in my batcave, but the set itself is definitely a step down from the dragon.

Yes, it's modular. The little house on the right and the left/back part are attached to the central tower via technic pins. The top part of the tower (rooftop, clock, and revolving thingy) can be detached from the bottom floor like the sections of modular sets. The back wall and back part of the roof of the little house can be removed and it still has the kitchen and attic inside.

Hey /lg/,

I'm trying to create a Bricklink list from an .lxf file. I've actually managed to do it but I think some parts are missing. I think LDDManager can't recognize some parts such as the "mixel joint" pieces (It's a mech model, so these are pretty crucial).

I'm not very experienced with LEGO but I've read the FAQ and the LDDManager docs, and I'm pretty sure I have the most recent version of LDDManager. Also nothing else I've found supports LDD 4.3.

the manga is better than the anime
read the manga
it's referenced in almost every piece of japanese media, it's hugely influential
the writer not only has his own fashion line, he was voted most fashionable man in japan, and has his work displayed at the louvre
the manga is really fucking good

I guess I can suggest a couple:

>Make your sig-fig a nice race car!
>Build something JoJo-related.
>Create a new creature that could be found in the Book of Monsters!
>Make a model for a theme out of a set from a completely different one (ex. a Star Wars build from a Ninjago set).
>Try to make 2017 better than 2016, at least.

It's emulating the artstyle of the manga's latter parts, when Araki's artstyle started to change. The nose is passable but it looks weird because there's no shading on the bottom.

Normal anime noses would look ok but that's because they have a distinct contour that shows the point of the nose, that doesn't.

Probably the same reason Minecraft sets are so expensive. More small parts used to create fine detail, at the expense the model's overall size, along with heavily printed figures. I'm sure licensing has something to do with it too.

even with my complaints, it was worth it. its a nice car, and if you're even considering it, you either like batman as a whole, or one of the characters in the set
of the three characters, its the best rendition of all three of them this wave (they're all better than the cmf counterparts)

it looks great as a whole, it just wasnt that fun, or impressive. honestly the shocks on a car that small and non technic were the most impressive part, and even then its not amazing

like i said, its good, but i definitely had complaints
freeing up space for harleys skates isnt too bad (either move the speakers back like the anon did, or leave an empty space under the windshield by replacing a 2x1 with a 1x1 should work

i get my lego around 15% off, so it ended up around $44, and that wasnt a bad price in my opinion
but if other anons are right, where canada and the uk are paying out the ass, absolutely fuck getting it.
the complaints were storage, and while harley's portion is fixable, and you can theoretically shove the jokers gun behind their seats (making it look like a gun rack) there is little to no way to make the trunk (aka the play feature with its bullets) any bigger.
the literal best you can get it without a complete overhaul is 6x3, and at that point, you're pegging whatever you shove in there into the floor and roof. with no changes at all, its currently two 3x2 spaces 2 plates tall

that being said, once again though, it is the best version of all the figs (both harley and joker have MUCH MUCH better faces than their cmf versions
im also nearly positive the suspension thing could be fixed with the literal addition of one more rubber band. its clearly a weight problem, as there is no sticking when the car is upside down or lifted, and honestly, the car LOOKS better in the lower position, so i removed them all for display anyway

that being said, fuck it in britbong dollars. maybe even fuck it full price

I'm just a huge sucker for purple and older cars. My only gripe with it is that it doesn't have openable doors, i really could've used those. I'll heavily modify the thing anyway so a lot of the smaller weird design choices don't bother me.

Its called growing a thicker skin and not letting fucking words have any power.

Think about it, we all lovingly or otherwise call each other (insert term)FAGS constantly.

Just think about it like most smart people nowadays do, with words like "racist", "sexist" or whatever kind of ist/ism/etc, get called it enough, or hear it enough, and it becomes meaningless.

Fag used to mean a bundle of wood. Queer used to just mean strange. Gay used to mean happy. Cunt used to be a medical term (and still is in a lot of asian countries).

Word meanings change once most people stop giving a fuck.

Now, the phrase "I hope you step on a lego" is still a nuclear assault, banned by the UN and the Geneva convention, so tread carefully! ;)

Apparently I got a bunch of Duplo from my relatives a few years later for Christmas and gave them the dirtiest fucking look ever.

It's fairly simple to build a working hatch, I saw a fix on Eurobricks. You may need some more parts though.

If you want to drop 80 bucks I think the U Wing is a lovely ship, and it's nice to get Cassian and Jyn (who has a nice exclusive hat/hair mold). Also some weird alien dude.
>>
>>6103663
River Expedition. Rudo Villano is still one of my favorite minifigures after all these years
>>
>>6106045
I agree, got the U wing for Christmas, a lot of people have complained about the design and color scheme but I found it a fun build with a satisfying final product plus I plan on combining it with the battle of Scarif set and some army builders for a good battle scene

I haven't honestly found one but I don't plan on having them in there anyways, if I have any complains about the set it would be that the troop area could be one brick taller but it would probably ruin the aesthetic

-Mystery machine (that i immediately after was gonna try and compress to a 6-wide scale, but i don't have a windscreen for yet)

>type it up

fuck it
trunk, unfixable for storage. removing structural integrity AND leaving a hole, still doesnt fit both harleys skates AND jokers gun, without dismantling the gun. changing nothing, the trunk cant even hold a fucking 2x1

harley cant sit in her seat with skates on, without leaving a large hole to the frame of the car. it would need 1 2/3 bricks tall clearance on her right foot to let her reliably connect to her seat.
left foot is already fine, since it doesnt peg in)

reviewer seems to think down is the natural position of the car, and that it should be poseable, thus stick in every direction (the pictures show up being the resting position, but whatever)
was able to get it to stick in every direction, by removing a band, and making another diagonal. to fix it so up is the idle position, and the shocks are just for play, it would indeed need a 5th band

i still like the set, but fuck me its not $50 worth of like, let alone whatever bongs end up paying
figs are still cute as fuck tho

Pneumatic tubing. It's the same diameter as a lightsaber bar so if you get eight long pieces you can make a ring with them and some camera SNOT pieces.
