you should already know that the more posable a figure is, the more broken and fragmented will be. the reason most schoolgirls look ok is because they don't have that much: the hips thends to be the only movable part of the torso, and with some luck the part below the chest, which only happens if she's not on a schoolgirl attire, maybe on armor or a bikini. because of that they look appealing.

Kamui hasn't been full unveiled after all. Heck, until a few days ago most thought Mumei was only coming with her dual guns and some expressions.

Turns out she's coming with the option to not have her headband (whether it's an alternate hairpiece or tied to one expression I don't know), the rifle most others use and her cloak. But that isn't even an official reveal and if the website you used was that on-the-ball with things they'd have updated Mumei's entry by now, right? I see no sign of that using their figma tag, nor an update to the existing Mumei article.

So I'd say wait it out and spare yourself a variety of emotion until she is fully unveiled (putting aside features of figma that often go unspoken)

Season 2 was a mistake. He WAS beefier in S1 but he's pretty fucking thin in S2.

The sculpt is fine, but the colour is off. Granted it was off in the promo shots, so I expected it.

This does not bode well. It really is starting to look like GSC is intentionally gimping normal retail releases to make them undesirable. That sword wasn't super important in Fire Emblem but it's the default in Smash and I think GSC knows this. They also know there is probably more interest in her for Smash displays because her character was shit-tier in the game she originates from. Problem is without three faces or dragon parts or something else the price at the web shop isn't justifiable. There is nothing here worth 8,800 yen and even if you buy three you can only get the price down to 7,500 yen each, if the exchange rate takes a dive you are then on the hook for a $220+ purchase instead of a $190 purchase.

Since GSC doesn't charge in advance I can't take that chance. If they let me pay in full now I would consider it but would still be pissed.

In the event that it IS a bootleg you can try and contact Mandarake, but seeing as they're quite thorough in their process of accepting figures, they might not believe you if it genuinely is a bootleg. Do your research on the bootleg. Make sure the box has the holographic sticker on it (though I've heard that bootleggers have gotten good at faking these, too) but yeah, just do some research before making a move.

The face looks a tad bit off compared to my standard Madoka but it it's about the same skin tone as both of my Sayakas and Homuras. The joints are definitely the right color, especially compared to >>6090925. The only joint that's not quite sitting right is the left elbow, and even then that's by a tiny wobbly margin.

So looks like the only proof of bootleggery that we have so far is the neck not plugging in all the way and the red line on the right side of the shirt being a bit sloppy.

It's 6:00 am and I haven't slept, so I may be confusing Toei animation stickers on Figuarts with stuff figma has. Though, if the box doesn't have the MF/GSC logo on them that's a dead give away. Also be aware of where it says it was produced, look for typography issues on the boxes.

Easiest way, type the figma you're looking to authenticate vs bootleg, and you'll find reviews. Not hard, though people haven't reviewed all the bootlegs because there are so fucking many.

Well, I tried the hairdryer on the port and it actually worked. It seems like that was the issue rather than the peg, since her head plugged into other figures fine.

In any case that solves the most major problem regarding this figure. I still hope I didn't spend my money on a bootleg though.

If the problem was just the neck and everything is fine (no major paint issues, joints aren't floppy messes or coming apart at basic movements, sculpt is on point with what the real one looks on MFC shots) then you have the real one. I heard of a few rare cases of bootlegs on Mandy but from my figma history with them, all are legitimate.

The only other issue is that the red lining on one side of her shirt is just slightly too thick and a bit sloppy, but from all my other Madoka Magica school uniform figmas it seems like those specific lines being slightly off is a common issue (Sayaka's is too thin).

Don't listen to the guys saying it's a bootleg, even originals sometimes have issues, and a stiff joint/peg is not unusual.

I got my first bootleg last week, got it on amazon.jp and returned it right away (SAO Sinon).

You can tell it's a bootleg even if you don't open the box. The print on the box itself was poor quality, the clear plastic in the box didn't stick properly to the paper part. Looking at the back of the box the writings on the bottom were weird (for example, the website would be www,figma,jp with commas).
I opened it just to be safe, and the quality was awful. Mold, colors, details, everything.

With all that being said, aside the inner part of the hair piece in your pic, everything else looks good. A bootleg wouldn't look that good.
It may still be a very good looking bootleg, could you post a picture of the whole figure?

I too waited for Terraformar to shelve-warm so i can army build them. But i guessed wrong and they all sold out on the first week.

Guess Max Factory didn't expect the level of demand for Johj and did not manufacture enough.

I'm liking her quite a bit. Not feeling the alternate hair AT ALL, would have preferred a third faceplate. The hole in the back is an awful decision, even if 99% of figmas include it. I'm tempted to try to stuff it and paint it carefully, I'd use an SHF base anyway. My one gripe with the mold is that in some poses/perspective she may look like she has a double butt, though considering how much GSC has been fucking up figmas, I can't say I'm unhappy with her.

Female Camui on the other hand looks much better than Lucina IMO, though 2 faceplates is a dick move.

He is a pretty nice looking figure but I'm curious if you guys are having any trouble with the leg revol joints that go into the body. They seem to go in at a bit of an angle and makes it hard to turn them compared to most other revoltech figures I own. Any thoughts?

The staining can occur with dyed plastics as well. There are figma that used dyed plastics instead of paint and it still stained the skin parts when it came in contact over long periods of time. Those stains are much much harder to remove. Paint transfer is generally a bit easier to lift up IMO but if they put a fucking coat over the paint like they should have there would be no paint transfer happening.

This is just another example of Max Factory failing to keep up QC at their shitty factory. They've done this in the past many times and it can easily be avoided with proper application of clear coats or using the proper materials. The fact figma are still having these issues 300+ releases in is mind boggling.

I stupidly bought all 6, but they were all on discount/sale price. I personally like them and each one has their own charm. Just blows a fat one they decided to go for the suits and not the casual hoodies.
