And no, the head is not "slightly" too big. Slightly too big would like 10-15% bigger. That head is twice as big as it should be. And thus, it's awful. The oversized, 2x size head is awful, it's a shit idea and even if the head was scaled down correctly, it's not even a good looking Galvatron head. It's probably the second worse looking modern Galvatron head, not counting the movie one because that's another discussion.

I wouldn't do it. Protip on most paints: They're not made to withstand handling. The stuff they use in factories is usually very different from consumer paints, thats why it can usually stand up to some play. And transformers, well, paint doesn't mesh well with the idea of moving parts that frequently have to scrape against one another.

You'll also need to learn how to completely dissemble figures to paint them properly, without potentially getting paint in the wrong places, or making tabs and shit too thick.

And to paint properly, you need a decent layer of base coat, and then multiple very thin layers of actual paint, followed by some kind of topcoat.

Hasbro used to use paint that is nearly indestructible on their star wars figure.
You literally cant scrap the paint off short of using a razor or sandpaper to blast through the paint and came tothe base plastic.

I am pretty sure the industrial paints are not paint at all but some kind of colored rubber plastic.

Not really. The dragon heads are pretty limited, flipping them like that would only leave bumps at the top, and they don't really sit well on the back.

For Fangry to work, they'd have to retool the shoulders to plug in different in beast mode so the hands would end up at the back, the head would just need to be similar to Mindwipe's beast head, but with enough clearance so the hands can go through a gab below the head.
