Who designs this shit in the Lego city? They should be fired.

Also, isn't there supposed to be an apartment block as one of the 2017 Creator 3 in 1s?

It's technically an 8-wide because of the flaring but since the 2x2 cylinders are half-inside, I can't make it fit two figs next to each other. I should say I can fit two figs in, but it looks funny when a minifig is sitting in it that way since it's so high up to get above the cylinders. A little longer than the taxi as you can see.

Thanks! My original idea was "pink hoverCadillac" but aside from a couple of 1x1 bricks with studs on side I really didn't have any pink pieces besides tiles and regular bricks, so it had to be a two-tone. At first the colors were really splotchy but then I got it to look a little more uniform.

My favorite part is the minifig leg braces in front of the windshield. I had two of them in pink from a Disney Princess set that I knew I wanted to use somewhere.

Man, what a city. You got volcanoes, space ports, large scale diving, swamps and forests, arctic areas and a wide variety of vehicles all while being a police state. No actual buildings in a city though. I guess the demolition crew just smashes them down whenever they pop up or something.

Besides, I was fairly certain there would be a coast guard wave. Have something changed in regards to that? A jungle theme could at least have some potential in having some nice animals, as I have enough ocean creatures for now.

Are you sure about that? Lego bricks aren't that dense, so you must be talking about an immense volume of bricks.

Mao Zin Dong Zhu pls go, we're not falling for your schemes.

>>6076790
They redesigned a couple parts too and sometimes the new parts actually break easier.

Bricks in general now have thin walls with tiny supports on the inside to grip pegs instead of the old, thick walls. To save the miniscule amount of plastic on each brick.

the quality of bricks as mentioned before can somtimes be lower as mentioned before. The blindbag minifigures for example are made all in chinese factories iirc.
There have been a lot of great sets, themes and a lot of very usefull new pieces.
And a lot of crazy licenses 80s fags have dreamed of for years. (back to the future, a-team, E.T., Doc Who, Beatles, Ghostbusters, Gremlins)
I don't even care about the Batmans, but the sets for the upcoming Lego Batman Movie look really fun.

yes and no.
Some specialized parts are used more or less one of for licensed things mostly. Lego has been reusing a lot of rather specialized pieces lately, sometimes in very creative ways.
Paintrollers for castiron lamps, the lotr spookyghostcrown for decorative lamps, lego has really stepped up their lamp game i guess.

Depends which Technic parts. Most parts released these days will get you 95% towards buiding anything that happened in the last decade (judicial BL scouring will sort the rest), so it's possible to have a lean collection if you value building more than displaying everything at once. Rebrickable can help bigtime.

That's how I justify a Technic collection anyway.

>>6077101
They'd probably do the house/diner.
I'd be cool with any lego architecture set of that style. I don't do fleshies, so i at most would use hair torso leg pieces of minis if they don't show flesh skin or have specialised simpsons style headmoulds.
My main gripe would be the colours. I hardly ever use yellow, lime and bright green, especially for more basic architecture stuff.

When i saw promotions for the show i thought it would be absolute fucking garbage and it looked like shit. After i watched it it still kinda looked like shit but i was pleasantly surprised. Bob the autist shorthaired daughter and most of the other townspeople had great va, proper funny timing and execution without just being wild and zany 100% of the time like bunny and fatso.

Oh and more fastfood lego pieces are great too. I missed out on those sweet scooby snack buns.

>>6077109
I give 0 fucks about the batmans, but the new pieces and handy or rare colours are nice. I'll get atleast a few sets for that sweet purplenurple.

>>6077131
it was very small cam footage so i can't be sure, but since the plastic of two connected trans pieces creates too much friction i doubt it.

Wonderwoman always had her trademark invisible jet and shit in the comics or in toys.

Really, really happy with how well this idea worked out. I don't know if I've just been getting lucky with stronger surface sealant, but I haven't had any printing peel off when I remove the tape. really dislike how outdated some of the lego inventory sites are.You cant mix loose parts with sets cause they work on two different levels, I think stuff should be collected with parts, not sets. I want to strip sets of their parts and then add it to my huge collection of loose parts then find sets or mocs that I can make using this big list. but it seems it's either official sets or nothing, even bricksets doesn't allow you to import loose parts.

>it was unbelievably retarded

It was if you think about the number of different LEGO pieces out there. If you only take the basic blocks, like the project you linked to, it's easy and has been done before. But the anon who asked the question specifically stated that he didn't want something that only took blocks into account.

As >>6078505 pointed out there are too many parts and especially part combinations for such an algorithm to function. Thus the question was ridiculous.

I don't use LDD or anything like that, I just start playing around with an idea and see how well I can replicate it outside of my imagination. The cars are mostly just SNOT pieces for the bodies and Mixel joints for the rockets. Like this pink car, that 2x4 gray brick in the back is one of these

http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6061

with the 2x2 cylinder stacks mounted sideways using these

inside the hood.jpg
218KB, 800x1200px
The hoods are just a mess of SNOT connections. Like this pink car, the studs on the air scoop are pointed down, the studs on the grille are pointed forward, and the studs on the hood itself are pointed up. If you put the connections together in an efficient way, they can brace each other and keep everything firmly in place even if they can't connect. I've got a lot of pieces that are stacked sideways that hold up pieces that just rest on top of them.

Well, it's all about the print, really. The singlet could be either classic leopard print (new cavemen bodies) or some kind of spandex with dual-printed legs (superhero uses). Or they could end up making the print too specific to use elsewhere.

Plus, the mustache could be the accessory part in a new colour.
>>
>>6079873
They'll give us one of the "under the neck" mustaches to cover the printed mustache. They could include different sized weights printed on a few different parts. If we are lucky we might get a mixel joint-bar-mixel joint for a smaller weight.

Now.

What are you gonna be connecting to the clip joint that requires that much anchorage anyway? Nothing. That's what. Because clip joints hold shit-all weight and there's nothing it could hold that couldn't be satisfied with a single block connection. Additionally, it makes a potentially godlike piece for small-scale builds worthless because it's needlessly large.

Why is nobody talking about HOW FUCKING OVERPRICED LEGO IS GETTING? Battle on takodana for example is a 400 piece set and 60 dollars in the US and 75 dollars in Canada where I live. $10 USD sets are tiny and theyre parts are barely a handful. The new SW a-wing has less pieces than last years eclipse fighter and iwhile not confirmed will likely be 50 USD (65 cad)when the eclipse was 30 (40cad). I mention star wars because its the second thing im interested in behind bionicle but even ninjago and nexo knights are very similarily priced to the average liscened set.

LEGO IS LITERALLY THE APPLE OF TOYS

Sure, its a good product, but fuck is it pricey. It especially annoys me because I want to get some non bionicle sets but I cant justify spending it unless its 20% off or more.

Also, bionicle was canned because it was cutting into SW constraction sales. Sure they could have cut Sw instead of bionicle but daddy disney wouldnt let that fly

>HOW FUCKING OVERPRICED LEGO IS GETTING

Jokes on you, faggot, adjusted for inflation, lego today is significantly cheaper than it was 25 years ago. Lego has always been expensive (not that you'd know, you're probably 12 judging by the way you type), because you're paying for the best god damn toy in the world. And shit, compared other hobbies like model train building and W40K, Lego is dirt cheap. So shut up and buy your bricks.

The real problem is lack of cheap small sets. Usually there's only one set that's under $20 in a given theme. According to price per piece though, it is cheaper than it used to be. You just have mostly bigger sets, so you have to shell out more money at a time.

Pic related is like half the Ice Planet theme and these were all under $10. Nexo Knights has about two of the sets with the generic soldiers and everything is $20 and up after that.
>>
>>6080714
10 cents a piece doesnt seem that cheap to me, a 1x1 stud probably is a fraction of a penny to make in china
>>
Fuck, I've just watched the last of Jang's City set reviews. Now I'm going to have to move on to some lesser theme, like Nexo Knights, or God forbid Star Wars.

Average price-per-gram has gotten cheaper, you're just on average getting more parts-per-set(and per gram) than you were 30 years ago.

>Prices

I am willing to back this anon up.

Me and my dad were huge whales when it came to Games Workshop and warhammer. so big in fact that three "games days: chicago" in a row we were known by first name basis at the forge world booth. Wed drop an average of around 5k+ at that damned booth buying up tanks, titans, squads and SQUADS of figures. They were even willing to open up sealed sets to make up for miscast parts/missing parts from sets we had bought during the year from FW.

Had to get out of it because shit got WAY too fucking expensive. My dad to this day has a twenty five strong eldar hover tank company that he hasnt finished building, let alone painting, sadly, and the way things are looking he may never finish it.

Health shits a bitch.

I myself have an eight strong baneblade company as well as a reaver titan plus two strong warhound titan squad sitting in storage in their original boxes. At least I got one of the original baneblades, all resin, built and painted good enough for my tastes.

Needless to say, sure, lego is expensive, but get into one of the deeper wallet sink hobbies and come back to me about it.

Trainfags im sure suffer quite a bit where the wallet is concerned.

It's not a universal rule, it's just an average. Price depends on the weight of the part (amount of plastic needed), the costs of creating new molds, license tax, and a bunch of other factors. It's not like a set of nothing but 1x1 rounds would cost 10 cents per piece.

Finished building tfa millennium falcon.
It was a really unpleasant build, not fun at all.
It looks great finished though.

I'm an adult so I don't really give a shit but I don't think it works as a toy. It's too big and not sturdy at all. Also, it has 4 "legs" that make it stand and they don't go in, they're just there.

Am I weird in that I always engineer my MOCs to be as sturdy as possible? I still just leave them on my desk so playability isn't a huge concern, but I don't like having to re-pose hinged elements or re-assemble things.

If you have to ask, then it is probably yes, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Some people want to make stuff look really cool. Some people want stuff to never break. Nobody is more right. Danish 3D puzzles are about fun.

>>6081387
not really

I try to make mine as sturdy as possible but also as lightweight as possible so that I can shoot them airborne with hidden supports. Preference is given to being lightweight, but only if it doesn't require constant adjustment to keep it together.
