the bigger ccbs/bionicle ones you can find by just searching for balljoint and looking at a page for the precise name and information.
The smaller joints that often come in mixels are simply called "tow-ball" something something.

Interface might take getting used to, but you can search for a lot of different variables and ctrl f tactically to find pretty much everything. I like how i can immediately put parts in a wanted list. Never really used brickset though, so can't comment if it is better.

I make $10 an hour, so its not terrible. And I've saved up about $5000 since May in order to go on a 2 week trip to Iceland and Norway this winter.

The only thing is hours aren't very good (in my case anyways) and I don't know anyone other than Supervisors/Managers who can afford to live alone with JUST their brick specialist job. A lot of us have other jobs in other places, and keep the LEGO job for fun/discount.

TRU is doing 20% sales for super duper hero sets in Canada apparently, or at least in my city.

With that, the Ghost Rider set is around $20 before tax. Is there literally any downside to this set? What else mmight be worth grabbing similar to that price point?

Same here, I've picked up a few of the more interesting City sets (read: not fucking police or fire fighters) and various things I've found on clearance/rollback, but most of it is Creator. I can't believe how far Lego has come since the last time I saw it.

The tendency to make stuff out of actual detail bricks instead of FUCKING STICKERS is nice, too. Fuck City and its bullshit sticker fetish.

They've led to some great pieces (fucking lightsaber blades and hilts obviously) but everything else is just, eh. I don't really want to spend money on three hundred varying grey plates or a stickered truck with some minifigs.

It really depends on your taste and interests. SW gets the ship fans, while Superheroes gets the cape fans (with the occasional bridge or building appeasing the cityscape builders).

Here's the whole copy for the Story Pack:

I agree, though as you said yourself, I'll reserve the final judgment for when I see the official pics and finished model. Maybe it's because I liked the Corner Deli a lot. My guess is that it will still be a good addition to a city environment in any case. Much better than what the City line produces (in the building department, that is).

I'm also awaiting the classic sets for next year. The prelim pic of the blue set looked promising, and if they don't fuck up the part selection (like too much bright colors), I'll probably buy a fair share. Nothing really wrong with bright colors, but if I wanted large amounts of those I'd just buy another standard Classic set.

THE TALE OF LU BAN'S PUPPET

Word spread throughout the land of Lu Ban's return, and he was soon met on the road by Guan Wei, the master swordsman, and Pu Pu, the greatest martial arts master in the kingdom.

"Why have you come back, Lu Ban?" asked Guan Wei. "You know the penalty for your return is death!"

"Fool!" cried Lu Ban. "The penalty for my return is death, but it will not be my death! My puppet is invincible, and with it I will see this kingdom ruined, as it has tried to ruin me!"

"Your puppet will soon find its strings are no mach for my sword," Guan Wei said, and drew his sword, but Pu Pu placed a hand on Guan Wei's shoulder.

"Wait, Guan Wei," Pu Pu said. "Let me break the exile's toy."

I bought two TIE STRIKERS for the wings and cockpit. Cockpit is based off my own design, a moc TIE Fighter.

The engine bits on the side were a bit tricky, but I put it together relatively fast. It only two a weekend.

In western media, women, racial minority, and sexual minority characters have historically been fewer than male characters, particularly in action/adventure stories. Those that did appear were often badly stereotyped by their writers, who were not of that group. Go back a mere one lifetime in America and none of these three groups even had a full set of human rights, let alone decent representation in media.

Representation has only improved somewhat since then. Consider Marvel's recent slew of films, since Thor was mentioned. From Iron Man to Doctor Strange, how many were led by a female, minority, or non-straight character? This is frustrating for actors who feel their identity means they will never get more than a bit role. In live-action works, recasting roles for women and minorities is a matter of relative quantity. Taking, say, one out of ten roles and opening it for a group that had only had one strings less than taking away that group's only role and giving it to those who already had the other nine.

In non-live-action media, where there are no actors, cape comics is an odd exception where a character can still be "recast". It's also odd because its primary industry revolves around a static roster of core characters who act as its face. Again, representation is important, even without real actors, and especially in an industry with a history of mistakes on that front, like Egg Fu and Mother of Champions.

Having said all this, I'm not very fond of Marvel's recasting strategy either. It's ham-handed and feels like another extension of the industry's cycle of fakeout changes. Fitting for the thread we're in, it's the Lego Batman movie's no-fanfare recasting approach that seems best to me.

Sorry for the ramble.

No, because no one gives a shit about Nexo Kniggs.
>>
>>6009135

Most of us on /co/ complain when it's a main universe character being changed. In this case, it's just another non-main universe with different stuff, as one should expect.

Kre-O probably ranks second or third or from the bottom of the list of the worst clone brands (depending whether or not we exclude the Chinese clone brands), but it is a truth universally acknowledged that Best-Lock is the absolute worst.

Preaching to the choir man. I still say, my dream is to make an indie movie adaption of the MLK story, but cast a white guy as him, and play the entire thing straight. Maybe at the very end, or even post credits, have the guy walk on screen and give some monologue about how it doesnt matter what color you are, its your character/morals that matter (as MLK himself had said.)

The asshurt alone would fuel a few suns for a couple centuries.

Also, it HAS or is GOING to happen with Michael Jackson. They cast a white guy to play him in a short TV series about when him, Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor took a road trip.
