I admit even this is wishful thinking.

In Australia, they were seizing mp-05, and we all know he was packed in robot mode, "apparently" customs officers were trained to identify him on sight, and one of the admins on the transformers australia forums octa reported they just xray'd the package, meaning the box was never opened nor did they look at the box (which, has images of the gun mode but the focus was on his robot mode).

Anyone trying to bring him in in a mass-shipment is fucked, as for me I have 4 options.

I got lucky with mp-05 but that's because the hype died down, people here reported the 3p's arriving safely, truthfully I want to get him the proper way, problem is I need a reference.

Who's gonna agree to say I'm a reasonable enough person to own a replica walter p38, I don't even have a regular doctor to vouch for me.

I actually really dig the proportions on this guy. I don't have an MP10 but I just might have to get him and Megs here...

Despotron looks more like a generations figure, he's stylized, he looks great as a bot, but like all 3p megatrons they don't capture a walter p38 corectly, and while despotron's bot mode is great if stylized his gun mode is weak due to the slide hinge on the barrel.

I got a feeling that, while he looks explosive from all the panels, he will be simplified in transformation

Fuck you, I had been trying to avoid it for half a decade now, I hate the scaled down size and the arm proportions on that cunt.

Worst part is, my only reason to get an MP10 would be to display it in vehicle mode with the robot mode of MP04, but if Megatron is almost half the size then there's no way that would work. Unless if I also buy the older MP Megatron to display him behind the newer one and sort of have the older Masterpiece generations behind the new ones. Which would be fucking insane, but perhaps necessary to solve my scale OCD.

I really don't know what to think about this. Some steps forward, some steps back next to the third party stuff. He's the closest to the animation's super diaper and wonky model sheet proportions but it looks scrawny. The gun mode actually a proper size and a great shape, but the paneling breaks it up way too much.

Hell I'm not sure he meshes well with MP10 going by the detailing.

For display, it depends on how you want it to look. You can have Starscream in jet mode divebombing some robot mode Autobots, or have Bulkhead running over poor Vehicons in truck mode. If you have combiners, it's almost always better to display them combined.

If it's for storage, vehicle mode is usually your best bet for keeping your figures compact. Fiddle around to see if it's possible to compact them further from that point.

It's more of a design issue so it's very likely you'll either get a piece with a wobblehead or have yours loosen over time into one. Either way it's not a terribly big issue.

Sirtoys just sells stuff he finds locally, I think. Plus, he takes them OUT OF THE PACKAGES. I don't want that. I want to sell brand new stuff and hopefully get it for some kind of discount. I already found a few on Aliexpress but even their "wholesale" prices are more expensive than eBay china sellers of some things. There are a few sellers on Aliexpress who have cases of just Takara Armada Starscreams but I'm not sure anyone wants those enough to buy a ton at $40 just to break even. You should go to TFcon Chicago or contact Artfire2000 since I believe he still has that Diaclone version in stock if you don't mind the box being the Spanish one. I think he has the regular Japanese box one as well for slightly more expensive price. Ebay is shit when it comes to vintage stuff because people tend to overprice it just because it's old. Look for actually direct sellers with websites or people that do business straight from Japan that actually toy hunts. I was like you when I got back into Transformers a few years ago. I scoff at the though of G1 bricks because they are bricks and thus no modern articulation and thus was shit in my eyes. That all changed after I bought my first G1 item in a long time. Now I try to buy G1 stuff more than the modern toys when possible. There is just something that feels right when you handle G1 stuff that the more modern articulated figures doesn't really have. Mind you I buy MPs and modern stuff a lot but there is just this itch that G1 toys scratch that I can't even tell where but it feels good.

Like the guy I just quoted said, wanting a Diaclone (or any other vintage Transformer from G1 to G2, for the matter) is not as much about wanting a figure that's technically competent for modern standards as much as it is for the charm and historical value of it. On one hand, there's something inherently pleasing about their simplicity that wasn't matched by any other toys that were around at the time: while they are very much Japanese-ish in terms of design and concept there's also something tastefully American and European about the fact that they turn into these neat and even still somewhat surprisingly good-looking die cast vehicles, especially back at a time when most manufacturers were instead going full plastic. In a way, they feel like a perfect crossing between sophisticated robots and vintage toys, which is a match made in heaven for someone that likes classic memorabilia. Plus, on the other hand, they sort of are the backbone for the modern figures, and as a Transformers fan, knowing that my adolescence hobby stands on the peers of those modest bricks means a lot to me. You cannot solely judge them on proportions or poseability, that's entirely missing the historical context - instead, try to look at them from the perspective of being great vintage collectibles built upon the limitations of the mid 80s. In the end, they're also not the primary focus of my collection, but still, I never miss out on a good deal for one on Ebay or flea markets.

Was able to fix my Hardhead that way and it gave him a bit of downwards articulation too. Skullcruncher however has a gap inside the port where the cardboard could fall into so it requires a different fix for him.

Nah. The individual guys are too big, Predaking is too big and too beefy for me. Warlord has issues, but the limbs are neat little Deluxes the fit right in with the other CW guys.

It's from the PE gun set. The set comes with two guns which are meant to replace the back cannons, but it left him gunless. I wasn't going to leave him with those toy's regular dinky guns, so I ordered another set to give him one to hold, and I gave the spare gun to my friend, who also got the set of two guns as well.
