So which G1 year is the best?

Me I like 1986 the most.

Mostly cause I like the movie cast.

>>5969511
I like the movie cast. I just fucking hate the season 3 animation and the writers emasculating Hot Rod to give him character development.

>I just emailed pictures from my phone 3 seconds ago
>and it's a fucking saturday

This is becoming a problem.

But yeah okay whatever, I need guidance tfg. I got all my hasbro Defensor guys yesterday, and while overall he's solid and nice, Defensor's right thigh refuses to stay tabbed together and comes apart at the slightest nudge.

The blue part of Hotspot's legs are meant to squeeze onto the black tabs on his thighs, but on the right side (as defensor), the blue portion is "bent" outwards somewhat and the tab just doesn't fit in tightly and all the way, so it's loose.

What would be the best way to bend the two sides of the blue plastic inwards slightly? Wrap a rubber band around it and soak it in hot water for a bit or something?

This isn't the end of the world but I'd like some more solidness on that leg.
>>
>>5969511

'86 movie was the best part of G1 pretty much. Still the only good movie in the entire franchise's history too.

>>5969530

It's probably the molding issue he has. Try taking the leg apart and sanding the plastic stalks the screws go into just a very tiny bit.

>Taking apart the legs assembly, removing material from the mating faces.

It was an issue with vanilla Defensor and Bruticus, their same right thigh is loose.

Vicky and G2 Bruticus has this issue fixed but one of the links in their knee assembly was reversed. That one anon will come argue that this is the "correct" assembly

That's the masterpiece coming out this month, you can change the face with faceplates for both gorilla and robot modes.

Takara makes mp's first, sometimes hasbro brings them over...sometimes.

Anything else?
>>
>>5969560
>Also, are there any good, recently made beast wars convoy or the t-rex predacon, or any from the transmetal line?

Most recent would be the masterpiece, the most recent AND decent toys are legends/generations waspinator, rattrap and rhinox, and next year's masterpiece cheetor.

Basically nothing you want...YET, if beastwars masterpiece's get enough love we might get more, I'm holding out for beast wars megatron but I highly doubt we'll get transmetal stuff

I actually just popped it back together to test after sanding down the topmost screw peg.

That slot and peg section I snapped seems pretty redundant, it holds together fine without it and now the left thigh stays together just as securely as the right. There's a an extremely slight wiggle but I can live with that.

I think I'll just leave well enough alone for now.

...So this issue affects onslaught as well does it?
Is it only the CW version or does the UW suffer as well? I was thinking about trying to find a UW Bruticus next after this.
>>
>>5969608
>...So this issue affects onslaught as well does it?

It shouldn't. CW Onslaught fixed the Hotspot problems, more or less. UW Onslaught, no idea. But given people have said QC on the UW set is pretty spotty, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.
>>
>>5969608
Supposedly CW onslaught is fine, the UW defensor no one talks about (scared aware by the cartoon blandness), but UW bruticus apparently has a few qc issues, I only remember blastoff's head popping off being one

The colors alone make him worth it, and from the looks of it, none of the red parts from the wasit up are painted (one of my biggest issues with the Hasbro version).
>>
>>5969614
>>5969615
Most of the QC issue with UW Bruticus, from what I've heard, seems to be centralized entirely around Blastoff. And from the sound of things he had a lot of the same problems that I had with the UW Strafe mold (which he's a remold of), which I didn't find as big an issue.

I suppose if CW is fixed then UW would be as well.

>UW defensor no one talks about (scared aware by the cartoon blandness)
Yeah. I'm somewhat of a takaracuck and even I can't deal with that. I do like the blue-er chest on UW Defensor and the whites on UW Blades, but not as much as I dislike the rest of it.
>>

The worst part is, the only wave 2 tr stuff they have stocked there are the single headmasters.

Also, whoever thought sentinel prime was going to horribly shelfwarm, I'm sorry to say that every Walmart I've been to in the past week has had rows of galvatron from front to back.

And the still insist on selling him for full retail price (29.99)

Too a picture of the 86' crew, well most of them. My Arcee is still MISB in her box so I didn't want to open her up and MP Grimlock fits so well there because he is the best leader size we got. The MP part was just a ruse to get people buying him.

It's not show accurate but the colors look a lot nicer.
>>
>>5970203
Nope, people were asking stupid amounts for the Hasbro and I personally didn't like the black paint on her. I liked the really softer pinks of the LG.
>>
>>5970129
>>5970083
You guys are lucky. I checked Target and Walmart today for stuff and all I found that was past TR Wave 1 was Ravage, Laserbeak, and some of the RID warriors like Windblade, Scorponok, Thunderhoof.

I ended up shelling out 20 a piece for some of the wave 2 deluxes at my local Walgreens tho, cuz it's within walking distance of my house and I really like the original Headmaster characters.

Still need Highbrow, the wave 2 titan masters, legends, and voyagers, and the leaders from both waves.

I hope I can get all the stuff I'm looking for at some point. The whole thing about both waves selling out directly from Hasbro sorta worries me.
>>
>>5970213
We don't even have Target in Canada senpai. So we only have TRU, Walmart and the local toyshows to go to for toys.
>>
>>5970126
>still insist on selling him for full retail price
When exactly do stores decide it's time to put figures on sale? We just got Wave 7 of RID but still got figures from friggin Wave 1 on the same pegs.
>>
>>5970207

You can still probably get the Arcee+Chromia 2 pack on BBTS for $30. aka: $15 per figure, which was MSRP.
>>
>>5970223
I was just about to post that.

It's a pretty decent deal but I guess if you don't like the hasbro colors than that's day

Chromia is a pretty great toy though.

>>
>>5970123

Didnt they do a movie for BW Neo or BW 2nd?
>>
>>5970259
Toronto. Their usual shipping is like $20 to where I am and that's not even registered. I can get EMS for the same price if I pre-order on the Japanese sites oh yeah and I also work for a toy dealer at toyshows so I can always ask him to get me stuff and I would save shipping because of him.
>>
>>5970198
BBTS has Chromia and Arcee together for I think $30 which is a VERY good price this late in the game for them if you want to open one...
>>
>>5970186

Ditch Classics Optimus and add Sandstorm

Im guessing this is just a S3 Autobot picture from the lack of Season 3 Decepticons
>>
>>5970223

>>
>>5970278
That's actually a Henkei Optimus. I could get my Sandstorm in my storage and yes I'm not a big Decepticon collector so I usually just get Autobots.

>>5970276

I will always love Classics Optimus. He's a fun, playable figure even if he goes against the desire for fiction accuracy that drives things these days. I even like his arm kibble shields. When I was younger I'd pretend they where shields and pose him deflecting blasts with them. He's one of those figures that will always be fun to me, like BW Ultra Optimus Primal.

Speaking of which, it feels like those kibbly bits have mostly gone away in modern figures, and I kinda miss it. It reminds me of seeing Japanese art that's super faithful to the toys, where you'd see all the kibble and screwholes and the like being drawn on.
>>

>>
>>5970379
But surprisingly MP Grimlock works. I wonder why.
>>
>>5970140
Has any LG Weirdwolf had problems with the broken hinge? I know they're made in the same factories and all, but they could be using a different shade of yellow plastic and that makes the difference.
>>
>>5970373
For kibbles CW Optimus was an improvement but was a step back in proportions.

>>5970384
My LG Weirdwolf has 2 right arms but everything else is solid. I kept checking his hinges for any cracks or stress marks but I don't see any and mine opens smoothly. My suggestion is just to be careful when opening the hinges no matter what version you get.
>>
>>5969976
With any Alternators you gotta keep in mind they have rubber wheels. But on the other hand, they scale relatively well with Titanmasters so there's some playvalue here.

The propellers on his arms get in the fucking way all the time, but if you are aware of it when playing with him it's fine. You also need to put a small thin piece of cereal box cardboard or similar material in the back of the Titan Master port because his port is a tad too big causing a wobble.

Honestly if it wasn't for those 2 issues he would be my favorite. His headsculpt and paint on the face are incredible, and he feels really smooth to transform.

He does have 3 problems. The first is lack of ankle articulation (which he needs due to his awkward feet, he has a bit due to sharing bits with Scourge, but it only helps him stand since they didn't go all the way). Another issue are the rotors not capable of folding into themselves (which, looking at them, may have been intended but fell through for some reason). Finally, and most people wont care about this, the shins are painted and will start losing paint if you tab them into the arms when transforming him.

>>5970639
>le stutter maymay
The redditor, in an unnatural and new environment, tries his hand at using memes. Little does he know, they're stale and he's terrible at them.
>>
>>5970638
>Getting myself blown the fuck out is funny to me!
There we go, another spot on the card checked off.
>>
>>5970638
Classics Bumblebee isn't the same size as normal Transformers, so your argument is non existent.
>>
>>5970643
That delusion tho

Typical redditor.
>>
>>5970648
He's deluxe sized, aka the same size as normal transformers.

Did your parents accidentally pass you an extra chromosome? Seems like you have 1 too many.
>>
>>5970649
And there is that repetition I called. Any other classic shitposter steps you want to fill out for us all.
>>
>>5970651
Lockdown is Deluxe size and he's not the same size as other Transformers. Are you retarded?
>>
>>5970652
Why aren't you on reddit? Why did you decide to poorly bait 4chan today? Did you get sick of playing COD and LOL?
>>
>>5970654
>using a clear example of telescopic legs as an argument
>what are exceptions to a rule

99% of deluxes are meant to represent normal sized transformers. The rest are mistakes that shouldn't exist.
>>
>>5970655
I'm actually becoming curious if you are being this blatant on purpose.
Because the 'yur a cod scrub' is actually another one.
>>
>>5970660
Oh reddit, your naivety is truly a sight to behold.

Maybe one day you'll understand what subjectivity is.
>>
>>5970651
He's a small deluxe, compared to the other classics figures, and especially compared to the monster deluxes we could get in the UT lines. The whole jetski accessory exists just to waste plastic so he isn't too big. Proportionally he's about relative to the other classics carbots as the MP versions are to each other.
>>
>>5970664
He's a deluxe that should be legends sized, and as such ends up having the height to width ratio of an American.
>>
>>5970663
Suddenly acting intellectually superior. Another one down.
Really, all you got left is to insinuate you are going to bang one of my relatives at this point.
>>
>>5970657
Classics Bumblebee still isn't normal sized. He's several heads shorter than most Deluxes. But please, continue being wrong.

Legends are way too small for Minibots. Legends is the scale for actual small characters like Wheelie and cassettebots.
>>
>>5970604
>To add on: basically anything from Classics really. That line was really bad.

Universe 2 aged much, much worse. Everything about that line was muddied with weird doublethink and decisions based on the movie's popularity. "We must do realistic alt-modes, because the movie focusses on realistic alt-modes(just ignore Megatron and the Fallen and later Shockwave)". Overly complex transformations that weren't really complicated, but just served to make designs more fragmented. The aesthetic was overgreebled and odd. At the end of the day, if we never got a new G1 style Optimus, Mirage, Bumblebee, or Jetfire outside of MPs, I'd be ok with their classics version. Megatron, starscream, Astrotrain, and Grimlock less so, but they where still pretty good. Hot rod is the only one that was a total wash as far as I'm concerned.

There are very few Universe toys I can say that for. The Deluxe line-up was almost universally mediocre. I can appreciate the effort put into certain figures(Dinobot is an engineering nightmare and al), but they still are pretty bad. Hound and cyclonous are the only real winners, and even then I dislike Hound's stubby proportions.

At the larger scales, Inferno was the one original voyager, and he was pretty cool. Ultras had two pretty bad autobots that ended up helping to kill the sizeclass entirely, something we're still suffering as there's no in-between Voyager and Leader scale anymore.

The 'Slaught, though, will forever be in my heart.
>>
>>5970672
He's just a hair taller than a cybertron scout; scouts being what Legends would be if they where real, legitimate Transformers.
>>
>>5969932
That scratch on Cosmos' torso, on his right side, was that there from the factory? I noticed it on mine but couldn't recall how long it was there for. Considered buffing it out with some toothpaste.

Hello Toronto friends, is there any hope to find Good Things downtown, or am I fucked
>>
>>5970689
>Universe 2 aged much, much worse.

I disagree.
There was really only one out and out BAD figure in Universe 2.0 that I can recall, and that was Cheetor. Everything else was either mediocre or pretty damned amazing.

I remember Powerglide and Galvatron being divisive, but I liked them. Especially the Walmart exclusive all-red Powerglide.
>>

>>
>>5970699
I just don't see how Mirage or Bumblebee are worse than shit like the PRowl/Datsun mold, or tankor. But considering you like Galvatron, it just might be your taste being too different.
>>
>>5970702
It kind of sucks that his only new generations figure is the CW that doesn't look resemble him well, and there's no Ratchet to got with that unless you buy Lynx Master, or get one of those custom Botcon figures.
>>
>>5970697
It's usually less stressful to just order from online stores. But if you really want to try and find tf at retail stores, you'll really need to look hard and strike fast.

the only places that I know of so far That currently stock tr wave 2 are walmart supercenters and silver snail at younge/dundas square.
But the thing about silver snail is that while they have most of wave 2, they charge an average $10-20 extra on most items for whatever fucking reason. And their current return policy is quite shit.

Also the only Walmart supercenters are quite far out of downtown and have reportedly been running out of wave 2 quite fast. ( excluding titanmasters, which they seem to have an abundance of.
>>
>>5970697
>>5970730
Also, avoid toystoystoys in the eaton center.

That place is run by literal jews
>>
>>5970709
Just left empty handed. Disappointing as fuck desu.

It's honestly got a really limited selection and the prices just aren't worth it. I wanted to get some Evangelion stuff too but there was little to none and whatever I saw was rebuildshit.

Would not recommend/10.
>>
>>5970720
Oh, sorry, I'm not that guy, and didn't mean to insinuate that I was.

Prowl mold was meh. Mirage and Bumblebee are two of the best of Classics 1.0
>>
>>5970730
Shipping though. What online stores would you recommend?

>But the thing about silver snail is that while they have most of wave 2, they charge an average $10-20 extra on most items
How much are titan masters..?

>>5970733
I still found TR Shockwave and Viper for like $8-$10 each

>>
>>5970736
Yeah aside from the standard stuff you find elsewhere, CSC is pretty random. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. I once left with a loose-complete YOTS Omega Supreme for 80 sgd.
>>
>>5970175
If you get the Warrior class in the back, you'll need to do the elbow fix.
>>
>>5970771
The most interesting thing I saw there was a fucking Omnigomix Spinout, mainly because I'm amazed that anyone actually thought buying that piece of shit to sell was a good idea.

There were also an awful lot of UW Computicons and LG shit but it's stuff I've seen elsewhere too.

Anywhere else I should go? Or have I exhausted all the good toy stores in Singapore?
>>
>>5970422
Tempted to army build the titanmaster vehicles. Especially the t-rex and pterodactyl molds as some sort of dinorider army for Trypticon.
>>
>>5970789
Not a bad idea. Kind of sucks that the one that might work the best for him is the dino that comes with LG Mindwipe.

Maybe you can work with TM Overkill coming out in wave 3?

I actually really like the really sleek lines of the movie cast's alt modes. Their some of the few futuristic/cybertronian alt-modes I like. Its not like the bay movie or WfC altmodes where most of them are just shapes.

They already proved Blurr can work with some liberties, so can Arcee if you have most of her kibble fold into itself, and Kup's not that difficult to make either.

The only real issues lie with Sccourge, since his need many liberties in some parts for it to work.

I wish there was a physical store here that stocked Japanese imports and 3ps regularly.
>>
>>5970832
The jap imports are for pretty boring shit that I can get for cheaper in Taiwan. UW Computicon is something I really want and he's selling for $200 SGD in Singapore. But I can get him for $150 SGD in Taiwan. The 3P shit was also mad overpriced, eg Anarchus was $140.

It's really not impressive at all unless you're a rich deprived westener.

None, weakest part are the windshields and i haven't had any issues with them, have SStreaker, Sides, Alert, TTracks and Punch and the only real issue is that some of the armpit joints can get loose.

Skirt armor was the one thing that mold needed, I also like the narrower, more angled horns much more that the bunny ears of the original.

I could be in the minority here, but I really wish some of the Rescue Bots alt-modes would make it into lines for older demographics.
