FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YVt-4sibEMFOU8H484MpB-K6rNla5SIYdHZG8lyCHLQ/edit?usp=sharing

Monthly Building Challenges:
>Summer's almost over - make a scene with your sigfig enjoying the last days of the season!
>Bonkle is dead. Build something that uses parts specifically meant for Bionicle.
>Make a police MOC. Be sure to include some ineffectual chasing with handcuffs.
>Brickheadz are stupid. Let's revive Cubedudes! Build a Cubedude to show their superiority over Brickheadz!
>The 2016 Paralympics are on in Rio. Create a MOC or scene showing that minifigs that are broken, damaged or missing parts can still be the best!
>Create a new tribe of mixels.

What the fuck is next years Modular going to be?
Better not be a post office or last years Rumoured Arcade (I just modded my new emporium into one)
I think a train station would be pretty possible if it was Town hall price point and had a train or such?

Ill be doing a modular conversion on next years Pizza place so im eager to see what that looks like!

It's finished.

I wish I had some figs for scale, this thing is absolutely enormous. The arm is two and a half feet long, the superstructure is a foot and a half tall, the base is eleven inches square and the whole thing weighs at least eight pounds. Total build time was sixteen hours.
It also has the second most complicated gearbox I've ever seen on a technic set.
>>
>>5925133
But senpai, technic is only good for the mechanisms inside real lego sets.

While Mega Bloks has kinda been slacking with the Nick Series proper, they've done a DAMN fine job representing TMNT as a whole.

Nintendo on the other hand is rotting with K'nex, it's one of their major themes but you don't even SEE K'nex anymore!

I used to have the TFA Millennium Falcon.
Then it fell on the floor and some pieces got literally broken, some went missing, lost to time. It's basically irrecoverable at this point. Thankfully the minifigs survived.
Which version of the Millennium Falcon should I buy to replace it?
>>
>>5925404

>>
>>5925404

>>5925409
Yes, I know, I bought the TFA version when it was brand-new in stores last year, it fell during Christmas and since then I've managed to lose a lot of the pieces.
>>5925415
How to put it? I have more money than patience to catalogue every little bit that was lost? I was just wondering if the TFA version was substantially better than the latest Original trilogy version, or if one of the even earlier versions was a hidden gift from the gods.

The waist-swivel is unusual, that was one of Kre-o's traits. For a buck that's pretty good for the weapons alone, getting the official versions of the ones in the pic would be about $3 total. Do they have a brand name at all or is it unnamed generic? Dollarama has had these guys for a while and there's no brand anywhere on the box or instructions.

PSA: Storks has a pretty good Ninjago short before the movie itself. It's pseudo-stop motion like The Lego Movie, not like the show's bland CGI.

Minor bookshop update. Didn't have a ton of time to work on it today.
Mostly just figured out how to make the book cases double sided, while still only two studs thick.
The books'll stick out a hair on one side, but I figure that's an acceptable compromise.
Also realizing I should probably bump the width of the store one stud wider, so the alley way arches are on the very edge of the baseplate.
As always, any thoughts or ideas are super duper welcome.
>>
>>5927000

>>

The package said Brix Buildz Minifigs, and the legal text on the back read like these were exclusive to Five Below.

This is pretty much what you're getting figure-wise.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brix-Buildz-Min-figs-set-MP-2-8-figures-/291861993407?hash=item43f45497bf:g:PnsAAOSwDuJW1y3q

It's the smallest AT_TE yet and its the most expensive for its time. Unless you really like it or you get if for 30% of the retail price (don't think this is common outside my country though). If u like it because of the minifigs, just buy them on bricklink.
>>
>>5927093
Local stores do 30% off sets all the time here, unfortunately the AT-TE isn't old enough.
I just really want to build something over the weekend, so I wanna buy it from a local store, not online, which means either the Resistance X-Wing (which I don't really care for, since I have the original Series X-wing already), Clone Turbo Tank (And I have the Clone Wars version already), Rex's AT-TE or Millennium Falcon (whose minifigures I already have).
Besides I live in Finland, so there is no such thing as a good deal on Legos here.
>>
>>5927096
Maybe you can pick the pieces appart from an old set and see if there are any alternative builds with instructions online? Or just rebuild an older set? I mean, if you just wait for it to go on sale you can buy another set with that 30% worth of money and still get the turbo tank.
>>
>>5927096
Go buy a Creator set and MOC something out of it. Build something from your parts bin.

After realizing that i had acquired enough balljoints and related parts to whirl the wheel at a larger humanoid figure i decided to put together my first serious attempt at a waifubot.

Putting together the hips/upper legs, pelvis area and inner structure for the head/hair turned out to be the hardest.
While for the face i got helped out a bit by Lingonkarts excellent guides, making the hair without small gaps was tricky. But even trickier was having to deal with me being super anal about structural integrity in rather small spaces with the parts i happened to have at hand. The pelvis burned me out so much after a week of fiddling that i had to tell myself to stop for a while.

>using different shaped clips for the eyes
>mixing grey and bley for the pieces in her head

My autism can't handle that nonsense.

Anyway, you've done a good job. Assuming you're looking for feedback/input I'll happily give you some suggestions.

Re-build hands so that they've got a separate joint for the wrist. Having the fingertips to the elbow being all one assembly will seriously limit articulation and ability to achieve some of those really interesting poses.

Additionally, smaller fingers would certainly make her appear more feminine. Larger hands/fingers usually associated as a masculine trait. But this one can be written of as a character trait so it's not as big of a deal.

As >>5928364 pointed out, the eyes are a tad too low on the face, looks like one of those old timey villain mustaches. Perhaps consider looking into different kinds of eye types if you cant get Lingonkarts type to work.

I'd say re-do the whole pelvis section if possible. It could be way thinner, curvier and a lot less blocky. Specifically more towards the upper section of the hip.

I'd say the upper arms are a bit bare right now, maybe see about trying to add detail or even try using something the ccbs bone.

A little bit of color would go a long way seeing as how she's in greyscale at the moment.

Though despite all my criticisms, like I said before, you've done a great job, especially for your first attempt. I personally really like the heels and hair. Keep up the good work, anon. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

She's pretty impressive. I really like what you've done for her hair, it works out well. More color would really make her look good, but as is she's pretty nice.

I second >>5928392 on a lot of what he's said, especially on the hands and torso. For the eyes I'd suggest reversing the order of the clip plates so that they're on the outside of the head facing in instead of the other way around. Reworking the hair to cover more of the side of the head could also be something to think about.

If you changed the bonkle arms for brick-based ones you could potentially work more details in, but what you have now works out well too.

I really wanted the hands and fingers to actually be able to hold and wrap around stuff so i kept them a bit large. I agree the lack of an actual wrist kinda sucks, I now just have a radius/ulna type twist with a second balljoint. But if you use that as a defacto wrist it looks very odd.

As for the eyes, moving them up just a stud will give her the appearance of having a collossal chin. I'm also not too fond of the vertical stripe style eyes as they look so flat.

>I'd say re-do the whole pelvis section if possible.
Haha fuck, that kinda made me feel bad for spending so much time on it. It took forever to make a structure that could have studs facing up, forward, backward and down whilst still being stable.

Honestly playmobil is pretty uncreative too. This series, top agents, was released one or two years after lego's agents. It featured agents (whose colour scheme consisted of white, orange and black), who had their hightech base in a mountain, fighting of cyborg villains (colour scheme: dark blue and lime green), who were lead by an evil doctor...
Still years later i'm amazed at how were so unshameful

You would've needed to turn the horns inwards and move the bar clip plates further out. Think like angry or squinty eyes.

4 ain't kawaii until you add the eye shine. Otherwise it's rather ordinarily cartoonish.

13 and 11 really work out IMO.

Yes, that line was awful. As is their arctic line with normal arctic scientist explorers that have to fight against Arctic Pirates (???) which alls is like an americanized version of Legos arctic expedition sets but at least Playmobil has some Eskimos as well.

Their city line is pretty great with the Zoo, 10€ for a bag with a little family of animals. Everything is modular, much more so than Lego. You can buy extra-stories and rooms for dollhouses, policestation and prison while Lego seems to not want you to buy anything from Bricks&Pieces and barely any sets outside the Modular line even come with windows and normal house parts.

>You would've needed to turn the horns inwards and move the bar clip plates further out.

I tried that, that required to put the bar clip plates on the outer edges of face. That part is normally occupied by a 2x2 plate that attaches to studs from the inside of the skull to keep both sides from the front faceplate together. If you use the clip plates there the face falls apart too easily as it would then only be attached by one stud on each side. The left eye clip also then collides with the bangs. Moving the bangs up a bit would in turn mess up the internal structure for the hair snottage.

>>5929148

I like how they inwerted the last 2motorcycles + car set. The starter set also looks like a rehash of the old one with ATM and dog.

Another elsa palace, now much more expensive!

The last one was not worth the price, but I like how Marshmallow is there, even if its too small

posting them one at a time makes no difference. It's not like more photos on the same page, with the same user are going to somehow attract more attention.

The same people are viewing them either way.

Personal insight
2 looks better than the original, if you choose to stick with the clips and claws, I think 2 is best
4-6 all look kawaii, but cartooney as well, the less cartooney would be 7, which is plain white and has a more robo feel than those above
8 reminds me of Iron giant
13 is dope
my veredict would be 2 or 7

this page http://www.collectibleminifigs.com/series.asp?s=16 has pictures of every series with nice defiinition, you can identify most stuff from there, I did so with a couple of S14, and actually got bot right, all you need to know is what you're looking for before molesting the bags

They really don't, they're just really stupid. They have two Power Girls, Catwoman, two Wonder Girls, Black Canary, Huntress, Big Barda, Vixen and half the members of the Titans off the top of my head, I don't know why they decided that they needed Poison ivy and Harley Quinn to round out the roster, but HQ has recently played the hero/anti-hero card more often than not iirc.

Then again, I've never watched this show and I don't even know what channel it airs on.

thanks for the suggestions, i ended up printing a picture of the checklist itself since i couldnt find a disassembled list. it worked pretty good, i mostly just needed what they look like, since knowing whats in each bag (and being able to compare across their full pictures) is alot easier for me, than an actual feel guide

like "well, i found a overhead wear, this already limits it to penguin, rogue, or arctic explorer" since the stores never have the actual endcap box itself, i wouldnt be able to see what arctic explorers hat looked like in that case, since shes not on the bags

all and all it worked out though, i got what i wanted, and no mistakes this series
>>
>>5930402
OK, im guessing the bike is attached to the little post inside a 1x2, annnnnnnd of course piece of shit LDD only has bikes with blocked studs in it.

Why the fuck hasnt anyone taken LDD and added at least SOME of the missing pieces? Like a plugin for it or something. Same with the color issues in it.
