Because it was the late 90's/early 2000s and recent vehicle-formers where few and far between. This is why we got things like Spider Arcee. They'd find a mold that had vague similarities to a character, and use it. The Beast Machines Snarl mold had a bearded look, so they could make it Alpha Trion. When we did get vehicles, we got things like Jetstorm as Cyclonous because their jet modes look kinda similar, or RiD Prowl as G1 Sideswipe/Sunstreaker. Its not like today where there's well over a decade of new vehicleformers in a G1 style.

There is a broadside retool coming, if we're lucky they'll skip straight to that saving trion's head for another ehobby exclusive like with sentinel prime.

Or even vector prime, they just need to flip over the ship mode and retool him a little there, lio convoy is still a stretch though I wouldn't discount them from going OC on us, frankly a big convoy retool would be nice, swap the lion head for a mammoth, retool and body a little, it could work, least it can maintain the beast head shoulders and be consistent along with the spring up antlers which would work better for a big convoy toy.

late to the party but I finally got Fort Max and I love his size and sfx stuff but I'm really bummed his base mode was so underwhelming.
For this size you think his hands could go into the wrist/forearm and that his lower legs would go into his thighs to make the base mode look better then robot lying down.

Perhaps there was plastic integrity issues, I would say hands that fold into the wrist would be great, but they kept the opening section metroplex had just without the gun.

I feel as though mixmaster really overshadows how many issues hook has.

He has those needlessly strong pegs that are borderline prone to breakage that hold his midsection together in Robot mode, his front section in vehicle mode barely holds together tightly unless you shave plastic off his crotch, and that same front section basically refuses to stay snapped in place in combiner mode because a single, not very tight slot&groove have to hold almost the entire weight of Scavenger on it.

Mismaster may be shit but at least he's engineered well.

I never really had any issue with Metroplex' base modes but something about Fort Max just makes all his base mode configurations scream "humanoid robot sitting down" or "humanoid robot laying down" or "humanoid robot doing yoga"

Maybe the color scheme has something to do with it. Metroplex is all white and kind of blends together but you can kind of see where Fort Max's red legs are no matter what you do

Found these at Family Dollar tonight. $15 for all 3. They're a bit bigger than a deluxe and the plastic is really fucking good. Like I'm shocked. There's very few loose joints. Cricket (orange) and Big Drill (blue and red) have little gears in their chest for flip out action. BD has machine gun boobs. Individually they're great. Together...

Alpha Trion's headmaster was recently revealed to be GW Blackrock and Sentinel's a headmaster.

Also Horri-Bull is dead in the comic and Nightbeat and Siren are currently at odds (Siren sided with Getaway in the coup, along with Blaster but it's possible Siren and Blaster were mindwiped/mindraped into betraying Rodimus and company) and far away from Cybertron/Earth.

All though,with Nightbeat, they have implied in the most recent arc that Nightbeat MAY be a headmaster (in the group video will, Nightbeat explicitly requests his head destroyed if anyone finds his dead body). Similarly, Astrotrain had his body destroyed and Galvatron was decapitated.

Most likely only a couple of characters will be Titan Masters, especially since it directly contradicts what IDW previously established with the role Titan Masters have, with Windblade and the "city speaker" gimmick.

At most, Galvatron and Astrotrain might come back as Titan Masters and Nightbeat/Getaway turning out to be a secret Headmaster. Siren and Blaster MIGHT be forcibly turned into mini-bots that turn into heads, depending on how the mutiny storyline goes as far as the two being punished and turned into such.

Honestly, it looks like Hasbro intentionally skimped on Blur/Scourge to put budget towards other stuff. They didn't even need paint, they just needed plastic molded in different colors. Most of Blur and Scourge could've easily been done just by molding them in the correct colors with minimal paint apps added after.

It's an old clothes dresser. It's not very stable though. Shakes easily. Like, 120lb person walking past it easily shakes the whole thing, despite it being full of clothes. One of the feet on the bottom must be the wrong size or it's constructed off center or something.

I just toss 'bots/keys/wallet/whatever atop it since it's not a very good platform for display.

Yep, Scourge already had his bits separated to most of the correct areas would end up white. You'd still need to paint the arms, nails, center of the chest, and pecs.

With Blurr, I thnk I would have been fine had they used a similar shade of blue from the Generations Blurr, some paint in a few areas (like the face, shield, arm covers, and the legs).

Well at least I got the set since it was on my list. Like I said before, I found a Slamdance but it was missing all of its 5 guns and the guy wanted $40 for it just the cassettes.

Oh and I found the only LG Blurr on sale in the whole show since only like 5 people actually had LG stuff for sale and it was mostly Hardhead, Skullcruncher, and Scourge. Another guy had that MIB MachTackle and I just had to get it since my Mach in my Landcross was broken and it had the two guns I was missing which was incidentally also from the MachTackle set to form the complete big gun.

If they ever re-do omega supreme I hope they do a proper base tank and shuttle alt mode, I don't care how much partsforming it takes.

Energon/WFC and every 3P I see all try to make it one solid figure and I'd rather just have a good true to the original transformation just because as I concept I think it's really neat.

Not all of them,Titans, Leaders, Voyagers, Legends, Blurr, and Scourge lack them (Blurr, and Scourge are 700 yen cheaper than the other Headmaster deluxes to make up for it).

The included vehicles look way better with the extra paint.

Hell, the main reason I'm getting Chromedome is the included vehicle, the different face is a nice bonus.

Yeah that's why they're tagged for $30 bucks on retail for the most part since you also get the vehicles that came with the titan masters. By the way the tank in the comics is a sentient fembot named Tankette.

Good G1 Devastator toy when? CW/UW makes for good statueshit, but he's much to big and cumbersome to play with, not to mention his thin tabs and hollow pegs can become stressed easily with multiple conversions.

What I want is that version (possibly with a new Mixmaster, but I can live with the forward drum) in a smaller size with stronger plastic.
