Monthly Building Challenges:
>Summer's almost over - make a scene with your sigfig enjoying the last days of the season!
>Bonkle is dead. Build something that uses parts specifically meant for Bionicle.
>Make a police MOC. Be sure to include some ineffectual chasing with handcuffs.
>Brickheadz are stupid. Let's revive Cubedudes! Build a Cubedude to show their superiority over Brickheadz!
>The 2016 Paralympics are on in Rio. Create a MOC or scene showing that minifigs that are broken, damaged or missing parts can still be the best!
>Create a new tribe of mixels.

Does anyone out there collect figures from certain themes? I fell into collecting super hero figures in 2012 and figured I might as well stick with it since I already have all the oldest figures. Brick link says that there are around 300 super hero figures. I don't have any comic con figures and I am missing the UCS tumbler batman and the clark kent movie promo plus I don't have the new spiderman bridge set yet. Sometimes bricklink counts tiny differences like printed and non printed legs as separate figures so my collection is probably around 275 figures. It's surprising since it doesn't look like there is that many at a glance.
The picture is some undead figures I made.
>>5907457
Nice use of polybag Hulk as an orc.
Can you share pics of your Superheroes collection? For me it doesn't really matter whether I get all the variants as long as I have at least one version of each character.
don't know why this doesn't have a differential, took the differential off my non-lego technic car and it fit perfectly

I bet that'd look better, but I'd prolly just fuck it up.
Got any pics?
>>5907343
Ninjago's a guilty pleasure of mine so I'm excited.
>>5908016
Gonna need better angles and right side up to get a good idea of what's going on there.
>>5907662
The thing only travels in a straight line. In this situation, a differential is useless.

I really hope it's not true because seeing how Magazine with figure + accesories costs here 10 zł it's imposible for 1 fig to cost 16zł.
>>5908366
They'll just give you parts. Not only would thast keep the cost down, but you'd have to buy the next few mags to complete the minifig.
>>5907351
Their battlepack was from 2015, so you should be able to find some
>>5908053
I probably would if accurate bootlegs didn't exist. On the other hand, I want to get Captain Boomerang from this, but I don't think they have the boomerangs as accessories in the bootleg set :| The set itself isn't worth it. There's nothing to this build.
>>5908382
Man wish I was into posting overseas. This fig costs 19,99 in the local shop because noone knows what this character is.
>>5907457
I collect them too, but I'm falling behind as I still don't have all from 2015 and several from 2016.
The successful themes grow larger each year, it will be hard to keep it complete. I may have to gut DC and keep buying Marvel sets.

And NEXO KNIGHTS:
There is so much azure, dark purple, grey and black.
Jestro is back as the villain, only this time he's been corrupted even more. He's blue and his outfit is purple and flamish-yellow. He is accompanied by an evil lightning cloud.
The monsters are rock monsters, but they're sooo awesome. They have purple helmets and weapons.
The Knights all get makeovers, with new armor, trans visors, and new prints.
There's a new piece that's like the lightning bolt piece but cut in half and with a bar on the end
New piece that looks like a small, flat blade.
The theme this time around is 'COMBINE YOUR POWER!'
70347 - Similar to the Knighton Battle Blaster but the wheels are smooth and it's a stud shooter in front. Soldier and a rock villain (purple gargoyle-like headpiece) with a scythe
70348 - A small wheeled vehicle with two lances in front. I think it's called the Dual Jouster? The villain has an awesome, new swirly leg piece similar to the ghost legs. Lancebot and Lance included.
70349 - This looks like a weird chariot. The front is meant to look like a beast with claws. The back is a cage with someone inside, with an upside-down corrupted shield above. Ruina has light blue Bellatrix hair (!) and a scythe. Aaron is included.
70350 - Rolling vehicle with a castle turret railing as a mouth, which looks pretty cool. New big wheels that are rocky, similar to the Power Miners wheels. Small catapult on back. The two bad guys are one that looks like Tremor from UA and a smaller guy with a purple helmet and a ball-and-chain. Another corrupted shield and Axl

>>5909361
I like the colors just fine for a faction primarily concerned with exploration/locating valuable resources and specializing in Hoth-like conditions, all I'd change are the bits of medium blue but I ran out of orange pieces. There's a large hatch over the cockpit area with a smaller one closer to mid-ship and large double doors at the rear. The trailer has to be disassembled and attached beneath the ship but otherwise it all fits pretty well.

Yeah, but the onlyblack wheel arches I have are on my F-150 and my '69 Camaro, two of the three cars from Speed Champions I'm not willing to gut. I was thinking of getting one f each Audi. Then I'd have enough white wheel arches for Power Rage or Bassline and enough black ones for RD-09.

Glad you guys like them so much. I'm going to build more, believe me, just not yet. My birthday is soon, so I'll be ordering myself some more Speed Champions parts for their tiles, windshields, wheels, tires, and wheel arches, but I'm not gonna open them until my birthday.
What do you guys want to see first?
Options:
Jack Hammer, Pork Chop's first car
RD-09, Gelorum's car
or
AcceleRacers skin Sling Shot, Kurt's first car
Things to consider:
Jack Hammer will be an 8-wide, and have Pork Chop's anchor, bigger rear wheels, and side-by-side seating
RD-09 will be just 6-wide, and feature the fold-in rear fins from The Ultimate Race, as well as bigger rear wheels.
I'll try to make Sling Shot's entire cockpit open forward like the actual car, that may take a while. Rear won't have wheel arches, it'll just be the fins of the cockpit like the actual car.

Was lurking Eurbricks and quickly was reminded of why I left.
Anyone else here stopped using Eurobricks cause of these power tripping mods?? Between this cunt and Peppermintwhateverthehell the forums have become complete shit.
There's absolutely no room for natural free flowing discussion, else the fun gestapo will intervene. The fact they take their job as a mod on a site dedicated to children's toys is ridiculous. Doesn't help 80% of the members kiss ass and anyone who speaks against(even in a respectful tone) is promptly banned.
I wasn't too impressed by the images of Mysto. After building him, I really like a lot more. The tipsy hat and the crazy huge mouth are ultra cute. Plus, bullhorns for facial hair!

The building technique is pretty rudimentary (i.e. no smoothing on the underbelly etc.) but I also love the chunky look the simplicity gives it. Very clever use of a Duplo piece for the front curve.
I feel like it needs work here and there, like making it bigger (I don't think it'll fit many troops) but it's a very good first draft. It definitely looks like a war machine.

Kinda. October first is what I'm told, but yes. I did find them.
>>5910999
no because the only place that has them is toys r us and they limit it to 2 per plerson per visit
>>5911013
Dude, my toys r us has easily 10 boxes worth of 16 and anotehr 6 boxes of disney. Walked out with 10 packs yesterday. Tempted to do it again and finally get stitch and ice queen
>>5911013
>and they limit it to 2 per plerson per visit
What? That's bullshit. I got several bags buying from two german stores and they still have a lot of them.
>>5910999
Finished getting what I wanted for the personal collection weeks ago, but several places in the area have stocked or restocked the wave, and I'm fighting the urge to get more.
What official Lego sets are there that give me feelings of 80's retro nostalgia with pastel and cyberpunk tron vaporfunk? Pretty much like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDBbaGCCIhk
>>5910999
Got them all in July.
>>5910999
Still need the Cyborg, Spy and Teen Mom
The only one I didn't want was the Ice Queen, got one of those predictably.
>>5911054
>80's retro nostalgia with pastel and cyberpunk tron vaporfunk
i fuckin' love synthwave dude but holy shit stop
>>5910813
I actually use it as Mr. Freezes car/tank.

Being a mod is some pretty serious business anon. It's not just a title, it's a way of life..
>>5911054
is this an official Lego set? cuz this looks dope.
>>5911133
Should have posted this instead.
>>5911054
Paradisa.
>>5911317
I didn't have that in my collection but I'm sure fuckin' glad I do now.
>>Paradisa
Nailed the mid-'80s pastel aesthetic, even if it was released nearly a decade later.
>>5911324
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=lego%20quest
It's from CRIME TIME.
>>5911346
Holy shit. I must have been absent for this episode because I could not have forgotten something so fucking perfect.
Why is 75150 so goddamn expensive? It's 100 euro, neither of these are worth 50 euro each and only 4 minifigures.
Seriously, the AT-AT was only 10 euro more than this, and then you got this huge walker. These are just two pretty small ships.
>>5909993
Look at the license place in the last shot, it looks like the entire plate is BLO, not a sticker.
Fuck, it's yellow.
>>5911381
The 10 year anniversary Vader Tie had one minifigure, was admittedly less complex in build, but only cost 35 euro. The most recent A wing, which had less specialized pieces, a different color, and two minifigures, cost 30 euro. Considering this, I'd say the value of 75150 should be around 75 euro. Then again, it is part of a currently running series, which does add to the price. Still, I agree in that the set is disproportionately expensive.
>got 2 forestmen, secret agent guy, cyborg, and scimitar guy
Not a bad haul but someone must be going ahead of me and picking up the special food suit guys, I never did find a Hot Dog and Bananaman as of yet is nowhere to be found.
>>5911133
Well, I had to mention as many terms as possible to get enough results.

Man, I always wanted some of these.
>>5911381
The Sabine minifig is worth at least 40€!
Not really, but she's pretty nice IMO. Really unfortunate about the price. That A-Wing really looks worth a buy.
Have there been more leaks? Descriptions? Pics?
>>5910575
doesn't help that some of them were 2-4 dollars each but it could be worse
>>5911461
I still have two banana men from my box. If you're in the USA, I'll sell you them for $4 plus shipping. I have several other still if you (or anyone else would) want something else.
>>5911566
We found out what is replacing the Ultimate Nexo Knights (mini mech suits) and we're getting blind bag Nexo power shields. Sketch pic above of one of the new Ninjago sets, and just2good has a video up talking about next year's Rogue One sets.

How much warning does Lego normally give before they retire a set?
Particularly in their online store?
Do they whack a "Retiring Soon" or something on it a month before? Or do they give a couple of months notice? Or are they dicks and only tell you a week out from retirement?
>>5910999
I bought my first CMFs today when I found a banana guy, mariachi guy, explorer guy and cyborg girl after five minutes of feeling bags, the former three for my dad who thought they looked cool and wanted to stick the explorer on his dashboard when he saw the ad for them and the last one for me.
Not many stores around here even carry the fuckers, TRU doesn't even have any that I found.
>>5912463
Keep adding to it and see what happens.
>>5912634
I need to beef up his "core" I think to really do it.....but its a challenge im willing to take!

New Elves sets sounds great - we are getting not a Bowie!
>>5912538
How about telling you AFTER retirement, and after stock is sold out?
At least thats how it seemed with the last death star set, it was there on their store page, then after it sold out the last time it was posted as retired. Checked that day on the black market and people were already marking them up to $600+....
>>5912653
>Labyrinth style Bowie minidoll
PICS, NOW.

Shit thing is, you JUST KNOW, SOMEONE out there, will buy them. So you can say "enjoy losing money" as much as you want, in the end the scalpers will more than likely still come out on top. Its shit, but its the way of the world.
"Fools and their money", and all that....
Is it normal for these fuckers arm connectors to break off/become loose after a few years?

The normal series just started being worth 2,99€ with series 16 and they immediately raise the price again, fucking niggers.
>>5909999
It was a combination of no free discussion and the people there being complete idiots. It's impossible to just quickly look up news in the threads about new sets because people are posting constantly about absolutely nothing or wishlists.
I feel like there are way too many moderators.
>>5909999
>licenced themes forum
There's ya problem
>>5912905
Did they? Recommended price has been 2.90€ here since S12 or S13.
Couple of stores still sell them for 2.50€, though.
>>5912951
I meant that the yellow figures just became worth the price of 2,99€. 2,99€ for Disney and Simpsons CMF I can understand, so many boots, t-shirts + one use head moulds. But series 13 and 14 were overpriced, nearly no t-shirts and boots. Now series 16 has a bunch of them and they rack up the price for 17. I wonder when the price jumps to 4,99$ or €, should come with a build or 10 accessoires at that point.
>>5912975

Looks cool, but what does it look like IRL
>>5912984

>>5912975
I really like the chain sword. Make some bolters and maybe some wh40k inspired armor pieces and I would buy a batch.
>>5912988
Okay cool. I'll look into that.
>>5912993
You know you won't actually make money from this, anon?
Also, beware of GW lawyers, having 'warhammer 40k', 'space marine' or other copyrighted term in description is like painting a huge bullseye on your ass.
>>5912997
oh shit okay thanks
>>5912657
The last Death Star was on the market for like, 8 years. If you missed it, its your fault, honestly.
>>5913001
Just dont use said terms. Call it "space warrior armor" and dont use any of the actual chapter symbols/markings and you should be good. Also, to be extra safe, just sell privately. Make a few batches and sell them at places like here.
>>5913006
Well if shit does get bad the worst they'd do is send a cease and desist, right? If it's at the point where i'm making any considerable amount i'll just lawyer up at that point.
>>5913009
yeah, I think they'll start with C&D.
>>5913012
but i am going to change product names
>>5913009
Where do you live? If its anywhere in asia or the eastern blocks, you can laugh in their faces. If its anywhere "first world", might be an issue, but yeah, they would just C&D you first. More than likely, unless you were making big BANK off the pieces, they wont even know you were doing it.
I mean, look how much copyrighted shit is on shapeways as it is. Nintendo properties, anime shit, even full knockoffs of full on lego pieces. Fuck em.
Also, GW is hurting as it is, they keep raising their prices and lowering their bit counts, I wouldnt be surprised if they fold in less than five years anyway. Especially if 3D printing keeps getting cheaper and better.
Its a shame really. Me and my dad have dropped tens of thousands of dollars to that company, but the way they run things now.....let them crumble and learn the hard way. Lego will learn the same lesson sooner or later too.
well I installed the turntable upside down
>>5913016
Yeah I live in the US. As for Lego, their prices are so high but everyone keeps buying them, they got their customers by the balls.
>>5913009
Ask /tg/ what happened to Chapter Master.
>>5913052
And then ask what happened to all of the chinese and russian knockoff masters who sell their shit as "official" on ebay and private sites. Even when I was still buying GW and FW shit, I had to stop getting it off ebay due to the number of fakes of absolute SHIT quality that were being sold.
>>5913055
>Chinese
>Russian
Not really relevant since anon said he lives in the US. Do you know what happened to the creator of Chapter Master?
>>5913049
Come to Europe, we'll show you what expensive Lego looks like.
Straya works too
>>5913077
Yes, I do, and his big mistake was advertising as much as he did. I have bought from plenty of US based knockoff sellers who sold their shit through private forums and did it for YEARS. They even made moulds of official shit, 1:1 replicas for pennies on the dollar.
Its all about who knows and who doesnt. Also helps if you spread yourself thin and change "company" names every so often. Also dont attach it to your real identity.
Cant really sue Mr. John Doe of 123 Faker street.
>>5912765
Yeah, I have some from 1999 that were assembled and never moved and they're brittle and somewhat loose. Good thing they're cheap. I remember in mid 2000s, before the battle packs, they were going for like $8 a piece on ebay.

>>5913400
I got the spider bridge for $20 cheaper than the TRU tax (TRU sells it for $100) plus 10% off like three days after it came out because I bought it at Target. Fuck TRU and their markup.

Hey now, don't lump the Lego Company in with Games Workshop...
Lego's price per part adjusted for inflation has actually gone DOWN, and Lego's expense is due to a commitment to quality that requires MICRON tolerances.

I love 80's and in lesser amount 90's futuristic (cyber)punk aesthetics, but a lot of the "neo 80's nostalgia" or whatever movement seems like a poor stereotype of the actual 80's shit most of the time.
Official themes you might include the aformentioned Paradisa sets and maybe space-police III. I don't understand what the hell cyberpunk tron vaporfunk is supposed to mean, but if you like the more recent Tron movie with its black/cyan colourschemes you might wanna check out the Ultra Agents sets as well.
>>5911889

Out of the couple grand worth of chinese lego ive bought, ive had two minifigs and one set of transparent minifig blanks that were bad quality. Goku there is one of them, and really its only his face thats bad, the rest of it is fine.
And besides, the CMF figures and several of the polybag figures are made in the same damned factories that these bootlegs are made in. I can tell because of the feel of the plastic.
>>5914097
If they're made in the same factories, why don't the bootlegs say LEGO on the studs
>>5914107
Some of them do.
Also, in the world of chinese sweatshops, theres a thing called "day crew, night crew". Night crew comes in and uses the same parts to make the knockoffs, im guessing with lego they have a set of molds that either doesnt have the branding on it, or has the alternate "companies" name on it (like the company LELE, for instance).
Really, the world of chinese bootlegging of various products is really neat to research. I talked to a lot of factory workers and even owners on sites like deal extreme in the past. Nice guys, actually.
>>5914117
I'm familiar with the day-crew-night-crew switch, but switching molds seems like it would take a lot of time and raise a lot of red flags.
The Apple bootlegs have the Apple logo on them. Can you post pics of some of your bootlegs with the Lego logo?

>>5910989
Is this ninjashit or nexoshit? I can't even tell anymore
>>5914133
Afraid I cant. The one for sure is a BB-8 knock off, and its in his head stud, white on white. I dont have a camera good enough to do it, ive tried (and got chewed out and shit talked to hell and back on here).
And what red flags? Everyone over there knows whats going on. The guys I would talk to about it on deal extreme even said that a lot of these companies know whats going on. Its the trade off for the cheap labour. Apple for sure knows as do most of the major cell phone manufacturers.
One big telling thing is when the chinese release entire new lines of lego that havent even officially been released yet (IE: the ninjago sky pirates theme was released through bootlegs like a MONTH before the official ones were released, and they were 1:1.)
>>5914144
it's nexo because snakes
>>5908756
I saw it as a neat bit of foreshadowing- all those lines were either small, obscure, or they didn't have many large builds, meaning the Man Upstairs wouldn't have areas for them.

Anyways, I just got the spidey set today that comes with the Rhino suit. I like it, but its pretty barebones (didnt even have proper hands, so I built him some. Another mech flipping the bird to add to the family!).
I was wondering if anyone here has it and has modded it at all? Like extended the legs/arms, added weaponry to it, etc etc etc. Would love to see pics for inspiration!
Also, can anyone think of a better face for the minifigure? I want mine to be based off Paul Giamatti from TASM 2 (the ONLY good thing to come from that piece of shit reboot attempt. Criminally underused....) and I am not a fan of the generic clone face he comes with.
Any help is appreciated!

Forget that I can get you a better rhino altogether
>>5914882
The giermkobot looks cheap as fuck though.
>>5914926
That one looks pretty sweet, but how sturdy is she? Ive noticed a lot of those nice, intricate mechs that use tiny pieces to build up a detailed bot are usually only stable enough to be shelf queens. Not talking shit, just speaking from experience. Even the quintessential official lego mech, Exo Suit 21109, can only be posed so much...beautiful build though, especially with a little tweaking.

It is but it has 2 light grey hollow studs!
exo force reboot when
>>5914952
Not me design but if you search legohaulic rhino you will see a physical version of it and it looks sturdy and super moveable.

The mold, and setting it up is where all the expertise and expense goes. You don't change molds just to make some bootlegs on the sly.
Also, almost every bootleg I've tried uses slightly different plastic. It's either, softer, harder or the colors are slightly different.
The only evidence I've ever seen supporting your theory is overlap in sets between different chinese brands, where one company expands its range by sourcing sets from another and just changing the label on the box (and I've only seen that once)
pic vaguely related. It's an Enlighten car made with one of Lego's top secret 5 wide car baseplates at 3am.. in China.

Lego Pneumatics have been a thing for a long time.
They work.
Those LED ice cubes are good for giving a cyberpunk vibe

honestly I don't think TLG would like it. No recognizable property, no possibilities for creative customization, and won't even look like LEGO when placed on the coffee table.
With chess sets you could at least swap minifigs to your own, also their LEGOness was apparent.
>>5915089
this is excellent, where did you get the cubes?
>>5915120
got it off someone who just got back from a work party, I just washed em up
irrc they're from windy city novelties and are like 8 bucks for 4
>>5915120
probably a cheaper way to do this tho
(you can't replace the batteries either)
>>5915105
nope
>>5915089
I wonder how long the batteries on these things last
>>5915014
I like the windows on the roof
>>5913829
>>5913882
Where can you find pictures of the other sets?
>>5913192
Very Ninjago. Looks good though. What enemies are we getting this wave? I thought they were doing the swamp or ocean villains.
>>5915089
>>5915127

Very A E S T H E T I C
I want more.
>>5915164
I'll do more tomorrow
I'm gonna be sad when the batteries run out
>>5915164
Swamp/ ocean villains were rumored for nexo knights. But they are getting rockmonsters now, while ninjago are getting (probably) samurai style villains
>>5915105
"pokemon go"

THAT MONKEY FACE
Holy shit that's chima prototype mold! From the time Chima figs were minifigs with animal armors!
Also it seems Ninjago goes back to the preliminary ideas too!
Which one is better, Ninjago Tumbler or Rock Roader? One store here is having 30% off from Ninjago
>>5915164
They're all on Aliexpress.
>>5915227
Rock Roader.
>>5915227
Both are good and very solid sets. Rock roader has better pieces and characters though.
I just bought a second Lavaria and a ugly Star Wars microfighter just for the Hera minifig. Bought two CMF and ended up with my third Spooky Boy and fifth Kickboxer. Gave spooky hair to Lavaria.
I think I need help. What should I do? Buy more Lego?
>>5915121
Just looked them up. $5 per 4 pack, one of each color. $25 for a 24 pack, one color.
Make a new general
>>5915226
I always post this, these were apparently designs for Chima that never got made
I really wish they were, I'd kill for one of these
>>5915393
>I always post this, these were apparently designs for Chima that never got made
Well we got Spiders and Scorpions...
>>5915397
I mean yeah, but those are different and not as interesting, those old designs probably needed lots of new pieces but really would've been worth it
The ones we got are just kinda lame and too simple
the other bugs are also interesting and I really want the mantis' blades
>>5915388
is anyone on it or should I do it?
>>5915393
Those were awesome, as were the properly zombified Ice tribesmen.
>>5915409
I sure as heck ain't gonna do it. I did it once two years ago and fucked it up and everyone got mad
>>5915465
And we did not forget, Zack.
>>5915409
Just force someone else to do it.
>>5915505
>>5915505
that's some disturbing-ass shit
that's like the human faces superimposed onto monkeys in the Where's Your Head At video
that's like that horrific Face Raiders app on the 3DS
Make it FUCKING STOP

Didn't they sue him, it went to court, he got done for making shoulder pads because the courts agreed that great big, huge fucking shoulder pads were a 40k style, but about 70 other infringement issues GW had were thrown out.
But Chapter House are idiots who straight up advertised their shit as 40k comparable and mention their stuff as being specifically for 40k, instead of going "wink, wink, nudge, nudge, dark future super soldier armour, lol" like other places do.
I mean for fuck sake their website lists the following product categories
>Chaos Space Marine Compatible Bits
>Eldar Compatible Bits
>Guard Bits that are Compatible with Games Workshop Models
>Lizard Man Fantasy Figures
>Necron Compatible Kits and Terrain
>Space Marine Compatible Bits
>Alien Bits and Kits Compatible with Games Workshop Models
>Tau Compatible Bits
They're basically asking to get sued.
And also, didn't the bitch that worked for GW as their copyright attack dog, the one who was responsible for sending the cease and desist to that kids ebook author, quite/get fired/leave?
