1. Take your non-baseformer tf
2. Make a basemode
3. Post pics

Hardmode: bayformers
Harder mode: legends class
Hardest mode: one-step changers
>>
>>5883753
Implying anyone with more than one brain cell would own a one-step tf
>>
>>5883758
Well people own RID figs, and that's basically the same.
>>
>>5883760
RiD fans are the absolute worst
>>
>>5883758
Which is why it's hardest mode.
You have to go out and buy one against your will.
>>

Chibiplex heeds the call of the last prime.

I buy the RiD Legions because I collect Legends/Legions, but I'm not a fan of RiD and don't buy anything else from the line.

Sorry, I just think beast bots are more intriguing than, say, the Titans return Autobots. The RID Autobots are pretty bland and terrible too, thought

They're fun little toys that have plenty of cross compatible features with the deluxes and voyagers. It'd be very hard to screw them up and thankfully Hasbro didn't

But then again maybe I'm just sour over not finding Apeface. Only found some Sirens for $8 and that was it.
>>
>>5883799
My guess is that (since he singled those out), he thinks they're bad since they're just heads without their bodies.

I can't say I don't completely disagree. I've wanted a new Goshooter, Minerva, Terri-Bull, HM Nightbeat, and Squeezeplay.

It's kind of a letdown.
>>
>>5883805
>nightbeat's face
Which is made up for by his head's robot mode and his vehicle.
>dinobots just titan masters
Those aren't the Dinobots. Those are homages to the Dinobots.

>retail availability
I can't help it if you live in a shitty place. I have all 4 and the shelves here have plenty more for sale.

The first few waves were kinda weak and diluted with gimmick toys so they were selling slowly but it seems to be picking up with the introduction of the Decepticons and Weaponizers, and the cartoon being aired on local cable channels.

I didn't see much RID15 at the Hasbro Singapore warehouse sales event held over last weekend, only a few stray legion toys and that giant-hollow Bumblebee.
>>
>>5883913
The weaponizers are still pretty weak desu. The only ones I find passable are the wreckingball-claw-gauntlet, the dragon gun, and the shark fork that came in Strongarm 2-pack.

Though I suppose the kids who are the actual target audience might find them to be quite neat.

I think the non-retools (Lancelon, Bashbreaker, Windstrike, Sawtooth) are the better weaponizers. Most of the retooled weaponizers have their handles in awkward positions. Like Lord Doomitron here, it's hard to pull off a decent pose without a TF with a wrist-swivel...something that's been lacking in recent transformers.

I did say you should of used the Takara one, would of worked with your blurb, but oh well, I do like yours.

I deliberately tried to make mine as gay as possible, so mockery is encouraged (and yes, I own takara blurr)

>>
>>5884298
The process wouldn't be too hard, but to avoid >>5884245 I'd recommend the following.

>disassemble entire toy or least balljointed sections
>mask sections that can't be removed
>use spray can in burst
>only hand paint if you've had sufficient experience or in small areas ie a single panel
>otherwise consider NOT showing everyone your skills and alone appreciate your abomination

>>
>>5884280
Yeah, I didn't even know who the fuck Rampage was because I avoided transmetals because I thought they all looked kinda terrible.

But I got mine for like 10 bucks so I'm not complaining. I just don't get why he's considered one of the best of BW. I think it probably has to do with the actual show character or something.
>>
>>5884299
Well it is good for comparison's sake, I just thought with the current shit posters bitching about both deco's I thought it'd work, you did well anon, I bet someone out there might be using the generations one as a third just to scream about china's manufacturing or some shit

>>5884305
Well yeah, like I said I tried to make it as gay as possible, thus the multicolored text, didn't you notice how anon's was left in its original size resolution while the takara one was fucked over?

I'm basically showing it like how some people outside japan see anime, in standard definition on a shitty internet connection.

I also wanted to give more respect to america by using a googled flag than MS paint, even though I'm neither race, originally that japanese flag was just gonna be a hand drawn dot rather than a filled in circle.

Couldn't fully avoid the white text on white background issue (which the whole colored text thing was to help) since I'm using paint, if I could give the words a border of black like a proper meme image I would.

But thank you for noticing, perhaps one day I'll get around to some expensive image program and make the takara one look like a peacock by the time I'm done with it with some TF girls bordering it
>>
>>5884237
Top notch tactical analysis. You would make a great battlefield commander.
>>
>>5884309
Amazing paint app details that we're unlikely to ever see again on a retail release. Beast mode where every little bit is articulated; a rarity in a lot of figures. Tank mode is cuddly, but impressive if you get everything lined up right. There's a lot of playability with the massive claws. Robot mode is less than spectacular, but has a cool sculpt.
>>
>>5884336
Yeah, the claws are cool. I like crabs a lot.

The chrome and treads are surprisingly intact on mine, too. Still need some parts, though. I'm missing a few of the legs and the missiles. I got the gun and a few leg parts for like a dollar at my local comic shop though.
>>
>>5884336

>>

Who are your favorite characters?
>>
>>5884390
Waspinator
>>
>>5884390
I really any of the classic characters, I particularly love Jazz, Hot Rod and Bombshell though
>>
>>5884373
New stuff?
Astrotrain/Sentinel Prime is a good mold
Hardhead is the best in the line.
The others would very on your attachment to said character
>>
>>5884399
Well they made a 30th anniversary figure of him
If you are in the states he's cheap to get
https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Generations-Deluxe-Waspinator-Figure/dp/B00CX5XEX0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1472572267&sr=8-2&keywords=waspinator
>>
>>5884402
Would you say the quality is good across the entire line then?
>>
>>5884400
If you look around some stores might have the Combiner Wars Legends figures. There was a $10 Rodimus AND a $10 Bombshell released in that line
>>
>>5884400
>Hot Rod
>Bombshell
You're in luck anon; a new ~17USD Hot Rod figure is coming early next year, and an updated 10USD Bombshell was recently released in the "Combiner Wars" toyline.

The last Jazz figure of note was released back in 2010 and was a very good toy, so prices on that would be rather high.
>>
>>5884404
Anon, why would anyones favorite character be Waspinator?
>>
>>5884405
Some QC issues like loose joints on Skullsmasher (though mine is personally fine) and an iffy head port on Scourge.

must-haves for Titans Return are generally as follows: Hardhead, Skullsmasher, Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain, Blaster/Soundwave, any/all of the Titan Masters
>>
>>5884405
Design quality is top notch, but plastic quality isn't consistent in Wave One. Avoid Skullsmasher until reports come in about revised shipments.
>>
>>5884400
Alright, well unfortunately you can only get like one or two figures with your current budget.

Jazz has a great modern toy from the Reveal the Shield line you can get for around 20ish. Hot Rod has a Classics toy but it has shit articulation- but he's getting a toy in the new line Titans Return that looks pretty good so far. There is also a small scale Hot Rod that you can get for under 10 bucks that's pretty good (look up combiner wars legends rodimus).

As for Bombshell, he recently got a figure around the same size as that Hot Rod I just mentioned for around the same price.

As this anon said you might still be able to find Legends Class Rodimus and Bombshell:
>>5884406

>>5884405
Quality is a little weird here and there, but I've found it tolerable enough. Loose joints here and there, but nothing acrylic clear future/pledge floor polish can't fix.
>>
>>5884412
I totally recommend the single packed Titan Masters too. They're around like 5 bucks most places and it consists of a tiny robot (like an inch tall) with a small vehicle that it can ride or combine with.

I only own wave 1 but my favorite is Crashbash (aka G1 Headmaster Squeezeplay). He also got repainted into Grimlock.
>>
>>5884405
Very hit and miss in my opinion
Alpha Trion and Galvatron have a lot of visual issues and half bank third alt modes
Skullcruncher is great but QC is an issue
Scourge and Blurr are middle of the road, not great and not bad.

Power Master Prime is a mess and the Sound wave/Blaster mold is split on being good or bad. Personally I think it's way to blocky sand the Helmet Gimmick on Blaster looks awful with most TR including the one he comes with.
>>
>>5884093
Hes showing them off to Sakamotos fans in Japan who like prepubescent boys.

>>5884096

>>5884098

>>
I've been absent lately. Has anyone discussed the rumors that we're getting legends class Seaspray, finally, and apparently another go at Cosmos, too?
>>
>>5884405
>>5884400
>>5884373
By the way, anon, if you're curious, these were the recent transformers lines:
>Titans Return
Current one, everybody has a headmaster gimmick, which is these tiny robots that fold up and form the head of a larger robot. The larger robot's body still turns into a vehicle mode, and the headmaster ("titan master" as they're called now) can ride in a cockpit in the vehicle mode. Most of the vehicles have these tiny pegs on them that you can plug in titan masters since their feet have pegholes.

>combiner wars
this is the line that happened right before this. All of the deluxes and voyagers are able to combine. voyagers form a combiner head/torso/waist and four other deluxes can form the limbs. All of the limb/torso bots are interchangeable between combiners, and all of the well known g1 vehicle based combiners have been remade for this line.

A lot of the rumors have been on point. A new Cosmos so soon, and after such a good Cosmos, would be a little weird, but then again, having a fat lil' spaceship to abduct TM's would be cool.

And I always liked Seaspray as a kid, since he was blue, and blues my favorite.

Oh, and just a note: Some of the new TR stuff is pretty glossy looking. Did they use gloss injected plastic for some of it? Chromedome's head is pretty shiny, so is Weirdwolf's wolf head.

And I just noticed my Chromedome has some dings in his chest's red paint at the corners of the square. Shit. Thats gonna bug me as much as my MP Hotrod's dinged up chest.
>>
>>5884509
Cool. Didn't know if it had even been brought up, I knew some anons were dying for a Seaspray.

I'm not too bothered about Cosmos, since we already have a stellar rendition of him, but I'm just hoping that the inevitable Titan Master cockpit doesn't compromise Seaspray as a stand-alone toy.

If anything, Warpath should get a second go, since he got so shafted with his forced Megatron repaint. Having a little red tank that a Titan Master could pilot would be swag.
>>
>>5884512

Yeah, that would be cool if it happens. I hope they don't make Seaspray a TR vehicle though. Cosmos and Bumblebee and Wheelie are good for it, they're all kinda squat, fat guys in their old toys, but Seaspray was pretty thin.

If he is a TR vehicle though, it won't really bug me though.

I imagine they might base him on his established IDW design right now, which would be cool. I mean, seeing as how we got a near-perfect little flying saucer version of him barely 3 years ago, they really have plenty of reason to get creative.
>>
>>5884524
His IDW design already looks kinda like the recent legends desu
>>
>>5884524

Actually, the more recent one thats thin reminds me more of an IDW variation. They might go full G1 with this one and make him a fat little bastard, since he'll probably have to house a TR inside of him.

>>5884523

That could work. Can they do translucent white plastic though?

In that all Transformers generally look like themselves, yeah. He's a green spaceship with tall shoulders and a red helmet. Tons of actual differences in proportion and detail, though, and his alt. mode is much less of a saucer.

>>5884528
Don't encourage them. I like Wheelie, but he's too flawed to deserve being revisited in any capacity.

>>
>>5884537
I had to do some tab shaving/tweaking to get him to peg together at all in alt mode. His articulation is weirdly limited in some areas. They were very ambitious in having his passenger cab formed in the transformation, instead of being a solid block (as it seems to be on the upcoming Bee and Kickback), but I just think that overall, the toy suffered for it. Feels a bit flimsy.

>>5884548
A lot of robots share a similar transformation scheme. Doesn't mean they should all just be the same toy. By your logic, Wheelie should also be retooled into Bumblebee, Wheeljack and Sunstreaker.

>>
>>5884579
>I have no tabbing issues on mine
I've heard people say it varies. The issue is that the tab is shaped slightly like a dovetail, so that it won't pop out easily, but the gap that it's supposed to slide into is not always properly molded, and instead of locking it in better, it actually forces it out.
>given how fucked QC was on the first wave of TR
Given all the stories I've heard, it seems more that Hasbro's retail QC is just plain shit, all around. I've forgotten what it feels like to buy a toy that doesn't need tweaking/tightening/modifying right out of the package. Sadly, this includes MPs and Takara as well.
>>

>>
>>5884651
Is the fix for this not simply to turn the Titan Master's head the opposite way that the instructions show? Hardhead is the only one I own, and his head was loose as fuck, but I tried sticking him in with both his face and the Titan Master's face in the same direction. Not only was it a more solid connection, it also seems to put less stress on everything when connecting and disconnecting.
>>
>>5884662
That has worked on every TR deluxe I own except for Scourge. His connector point is exceptionally loose no matter which way the Titan Master's head is pointed.
>>
>>5884662
Turning Scourges head around would only make it looser. It's kind of fucked.
>>
>>5884662
Scourge's problem is that his titanmaster socket isn't recessed, so the throat area has nothing to keep the titanmaster's head steady, On some versions it helps a bit, but the problem is mostly just inherent to the mold's design.
>>
>>5884662
I think Scourge's headmaster wont even click in if you try attaching it that way. It's the shape of the headmaster's head.
>>
>>5884676
I don't know. All the TMs are loose in there. I think it's because it doesn't have anything to stop the head from going forward or back so it's just wiggles around.
>>
>>5884677 (me)
Oh nevermind maybe. Terribull was pretty loose, but Nightbeat is mostly fine. Maybe it's a combination of factors.
>>
>>5884662

This >>5884671 is the actual issue. It's not the head of the TM, it's that the others sockets are recessed into the body, so theres something to block the TM's back/forward motion.

Highbrow has the exact same problem as he's an extensive retool of Scourge.

Also if someone could do a "What is love" SNL skit headbob edit of Scourge and Highbrow I would love you forever.

It still triggers me that the only toy that actually matches what we saw in the cartoon is the one from 1985, and it's the wrong color unless you're willing to mortgage your house. Even in the third party offerings FCT Transportation Captain is the only one who really fits the G1 animation models.

I've never had a problem with them. Orders usually ship out a day or so after being made, despite never buying from them unless I qualify for free shipping.

I have heard horror stories that made me stop ordering from them. Higher end items, specifically masterpieces, usually get the short end of the stick. Pic related is how some Ramjets were sent out to people (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/1083353-here-what-takara-fixed-mp-ramjet-looks-like-tfsource.html) plus they also painted Masterpiece Exhausts to get past the Marlboro issues.

Could just be a few outliers, but I haven't heard as much about any other online store.

Why is it so hard for people to just like... be good at figure painting?

It's not hard, if you have even the basic semblance of knowing what you're doing it's basically just 3D paint by number. I'm not saying everyone should start a master at a craft but it should only take like one or maybe two practice projects before you start churning out decent stuff.

I mean for a good long while we thought highbrow was a new mold.

That's the point I'm making
we've gotten used to calling anything that had a few parts remolded as a remold, but these are full body remolds, like PMOP.
Or maybe we should just call them clones? Like Chromedome isn't exactly a remold but it's definitely a reuse of a lot of stuff.
>>
>>5885094
I'm not seeing ANYTHING from Alpha Trion on Broadside.
>>
>>5885098

PMOP looks like shit though. Both versions. He's a bad remold.

Highbrow looks pretty good. He's a good remold.

Both are remolds, but the quality of the remold varies significantly.

So I got these... I believe they are knock-off PE combiner sets? They turned out to be pretty nice considering 2 sets + shipping cost me less than a single PE set.

https://world.taobao.com/item/534062582242.htm?fromSite=main&_u=v2o7o7jl8f0e

I never actually owned the actual PE stuff so I can't say how their qualities compare. The black set is perfect but the silver set has stress marks around the foot peg ball joints. I imagine the other colors vary in plastic quality too.

Also, ALL the 5mm pegs had to be shaved down. They also seemed to shave really easily as I almost went too far on one of the hand pegs.

But all in all, I'm pretty happy.
>>
>>5885098
Don't be stupid, PMOP is clearly a now standard heavy remold, the odd one out is Chromedome and only him.
>>
>>5885084
that's what I was talking about, yes.
I mean the wings are obvious, but it's a little hard to tell how his legs/thrusters are working there, but it seems they're sitting up like the blurr in

hence why I said we should give things like CD a new term
and I feel like Highbrow, Triggerhappy, and Broadside could fall under that moreso than "heavy remold"
>>
>>5885113

>>
>>5885102
It's a pretty goddamn extensive remold, but the feet still illustrate that it's a remold. Either that or they have REALLY good mold designers who are putting the surface-level stuff on mostly separate sprues from the "stuff you may not pay attention to" things like the crotch, thighs and upper arms.
>>
>>5885114
Like I said, heavy remolds. For Chromedome I'd say it's parts reusage is more apt.
>>
>>5885123
>exo-squad transformers crossover

>>
>>5885118
>>5885120
That's it? That's just partial similar design, not even wholly similar design like Smokescreen/Starscream or Dead End/Chromedome. There's still the entire upper half that's different. This doesn't count.
>>
>>5885126
I know right?
It's basically impossible to tell Highbrow and Scourge are remolds of eachother until you get them in hand.
They turned the vehicle mode around, reshelled pretty much all of it, and slightly ADDED to the parts count to get it to work.
Then you get into Blurr and Chromedome, who share a couple parts but are basically just completely unique toys from one another aside from that.

During the era when he came out, the Generations figures used almost ko quality plastic because Hasbro assumed people bought Generations figures for display, eliminating the need for them to stand up to repeated play.
