Which one should i PO? Rey or Rey with BB8? It seems utterly stupid that i'm paying an extra 80 bucks for a peripheral standard BB8.
Sideshow/Hot Toys general
I'm buying the set. I like Rey, and my sibling wants the BB8 so it all works out in the end.
Also since SS/HT general, I'm excited for Ultron's release this year.
That's just the Photoshop lighting. The actual figure looks great in person.
If the BB Demon Batman & Scarecrow pack is anything to go by, maybe something like this (can't say for certain though).
my gf bought me Hot Toys Winter Soldier for Christmas and im losing my shit. it'll be my first hot toys fig and ive wanted one since i worked at a toy company that would
recast hot toys parts occasionally
So I've been seeing whats seems to be older star wars sideshow figures for cheaper than the average 1/6 figure. Do they have problems or something?
The older Sideshow figures have spotty quality and paint. They look more like dolls and less like high-end collectibles.
Leia/Boussh is an older but relatively decent figure. The others are new. Look at the paint on the faces.
I have Vader coming in next week and Batman soon after.
Plus the announcement of AoU New Wanda made me so happy.
Totally worth it though. Really tall and the cape is really nice
Her tits look alot bigger than they did in the film.
Also "totally worth it" in the sense that Elite Grievous is a complete piece of garbage, so you might as well put those dollars toward saving for the Sideshow (or upcoming SHF). Or just get the Lego one, which is obscenely great.
Hot Toys didn't meticulously sculpt accurate tits based on a mold of Ridley's bust. It's a standard body under there.
I just think it would be too obvious. I'm kinda hoping she's either a Kenobi descendent or just a random girl. But I know they wanted the entirety of the films focused around Skywalkers, so she probably is one.
Sideshow are kind of shit. They keep upping their prices, but the figures have horrible bodies prone to breakage, questionable tailoring and really badly-painted faces compared to Hot Toys, Dam, VTS, Art Figures, Blitzway, Enterbay, etc. They've also gotten into the awful habit of casting the heads hollow and inserting glassy plastic separate eyes instead of painting them in like HT, so the otherwise great Trevor Grove sculpts, already ruined by their shitty paint apps, get warped out of shape in the process. You also absolutely cannot trust their promotional pictures either.
Fucking awful company who need to up their game or get out of 1/6.
did anyone buy pic related? seems too basic for $350
They're different companies.
Hot Toys is strictly a manufacturer.
Sideshow is both a manufacturer and a retailer (of Hot Toys and other companies).
Besides 1/6th scale figures, Sideshow also makes statueshit.
also, sheev/emperor for hot toys when?
Boba Fett for example is getting a superior Hot Toys release, so people are trying to get something for him while they can.
Also the early Sideshow figures were much cheaper than the current stuff.
>hot toys Luke
>hot toys rey
Eh, if there ends up being a huge difference in size I can just throw them on different shelves, no biggie.
Yeah, but unless the tan cape and green jetpack really matter to you, its only $35 more to get the Hot Toys, which is a lot better looking in every way.
and post pictures somewhere for me
when it comes out may-july keep your eye open on /gif/ or I might post it here and just get banned.
