Funko Pop! Vinyl thread anyone? Last one got archived.
Discuss your recent acquisitions or which series you'd like to see get made into Pop! Vinyl Figurine.
Myself, I recently picked up the Ygritte figurine from Game of Thrones for $12 AUD which was good considering I can't really find it anywhere else. I'd like to get the Vincent and Jules figures from the Pulp Fiction collection and I'd also like to see some Fight Club, Indiana Jones, Mad Max or Die Hard figurines get made. Stannis from Game of Thrones is one I'd like as well. I need to find more space though.
Apparently, the Roddy Piper POP! might be a Target exclusive, like the Ric Flair figure.
New Pirates Of The Caribbean POP!s announced:
>dat Davy Jones
About a week ago I posted that the super saiyan God Goku went up on funimation's website, well the proof arrived today.
I'm just not into the red DD POP!. I love the yellow one, but can't find it anywhere and you can't get them on Target's website. At least I got a Morbius finally.
>pardon the dust
Buddy got me Ant-Man and Antony for Zombie Jesus Day. One of the handlebars snapped off almost immediately, but super glue worked fine. Overall it's pretty cool, aside from the flimsy handlebars.
>he didn't get chrome phasma when he had the chance
I was in the middle of a long-distance move and didn't want it to arrive after I'd already left. Same reason I missed out on Morbius, but I luckily got him for $15 on eBay.
According to Brian we're getting..
Golden Girls Pop & Reaction
Cheech and Chong Pop
Serenity from Firefly Dorbz Ridez!
New TV Pops too... like Blacklist and Mr Robot!
Of course also more Walking Dead Pop
Game of Thrones too- also new Mystery Minis and 3 3/4" action figs that ARE NOT ReAction... including the Wall playset!
Power Rangers Pop returning too!
Also... 90s Nickelodeon shows!
If anyone has an FYE near them, they have a ton of POPs now, lots of ones that are uncommon, too and also some random exclusives like the PX preview unmasked Deadpool and Entertainment Earth GITD Cthulhu.
>Not going to Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, Gamestop or even Barnes and Nobles
It's not often I see a Funko Pop where the dead, soulless black eyes are actually fitting and go naturally with the design. They sure lucked out here.
>just finished Horror Series 2 MM
>now anxiously waiting for potential Series 3
Start getting those horror move licenses Funko. Make McFarlane and NECA proud.
TFA wave 2 figures. FOr anyone thats seen the movie, is Varmik the one that was with Sidon? I dont really remember and i just saw it last night lol
Really I don't care for the planet of the apes ones... But I stole them so wasn't a big deal
I have a few questions (noob here)
Can someone link me to a full list of all the pops?
also should i leave them in their box? Does it make them worth more?
Totally worth the $17.98 I made them change it to. Jabba's fantastic, Salacious is cute, and Leia can't stay upright for shit. I love that they had the foresight to include a throne, even if it is cardboard. Better than Hasbro even bothered to do.
They made a Tall Man with a midget minion figure from the Cult Classics line. No Re-Animator merch that I know of unfortunately. There was a figure of Herbert West that was planned, but got canceled.
I'd love a MM Horror Classics Series 3 with:
>shark from Jaws
I can go on and on. I love the Mystery Minis.
Hot damn, anon. Are you me? I'd buy that set and be pleased no matter what I got (though the latest horror MM series is the same situation).
I'd love for them to include some newer horror characters as well, like Leslie Vernon from Behind The Mask. It'd be cool to have some They Live merch too, maybe in the next Sci-Fi series, especially since Piper's wife seems to be in full support of Funko using Roddy's likeness.
If most of these were made as pops I'd expand my horror collection past the Universal Monsters and Count Orlock. Especially Maniac Cop and Herbert West.
Gigantor's pretty good looking if the paint job is clean. It all shows on the blue plastic. Still worth getting if you find it. Shit even I got one.
They Live anything would probably get my money.
>They Live anything would probably get my money.
Same here. Piper's wife posted the glam shot for his POP! and said she's seen some really awesome Nada customs, but would love for Funko to do an official They Live line. I'm down.
Rancor three pack is up for pre-order on Midtown Comics' website
wtf is this and since when are the Daredevil pops out?
Fuck, I knew they would get me eventually.
Im actually in the local group where this was found first. The exact place was Hayward, Califronia.
First time I had seen that punisher, and first place ive seen the netflix daredevil . They also had the target exclusive deadpool and some other ones from that series
Here's the first look at some of the Funko FNAF stuff
They've got to. I know this sounds like a slight but considering that most of the FNAF fans are young kids, there are going to be a lot of angry parents if these things break as easily as most of there other releases.
well at least its better than this abomination
Where is that pic from? I forgot that Titan was doing uncharted and last of us figures. I'm interested in the last of us clickers
Also here are some new lines that got announced today. Hype as fuck for mega man and resident evil.
>Mega Man POP!s
And just in time for the Mega Man kick I've been on for the past couple of months! If they do a series, I hope they do a Cutman. He was always my favorite of the Robot Masters.
I posted in the last thread or the one before about wanting Resident Evil Pops, I guess someone at Funko saw it.
Also, got a source on that?
>Dark Souls Pop
I'll believe it when I see it.
It's Disney today... Pretty disappointing but whatever.
if there's a Walgreens near you, try finding based Riot Control trooper
and you can used this to help find him, though it doesn't guarantee it since its the entire assortment
Are these in stores yet? Last I checked, they were due in Dec, but I havent seen them in any stores.
there's a few more he doesnt have i think, like new wave dave and mad mike
how well did these things sell, anyway? i kindof want to see a weird wendy figure but the GPK arent exactly the hottest brand...
Don't leave them in the box, the whole point of buying them is so that you can take them out and look at them. Unless you want to stack them, there's no point keeping them in the box. What I do though is I keep the boxes in my shed so that if I want to sell them for whatever reason, I can just stick them back in the box and sell to make them a bit more marketable for resale. But these things are hardly gonna be worth millions in 5 years time so take them out and enjoy them anon.
This is my whole collection so far lol.
I just picked up Olaf today at Walgreens
Gamestop exclusive Pilot Nien Nunb
I found out they have a Travis Bickle/Taxi Driver figure, and I fucking need it.
I also want to get Raven, Cyclops (X-men), Marceline, and the Frank Miller costume Daredevil figure. Maybe the red costume Daredevil too.
I'm really trying to restrain myself. I want the whole Avengers line and X-Men line, pretty much (Except for Deadpool)
I came across a couple of the Walgreens-exclusive Star Wars POP!s last night. The Snowtrooper was kind of tempting, but I decided to hold off for now. They also had two of the Imperial guards.
I ordered an amethyst (steven univetse) off this site and they said they're shipping soon but I checked cartoon network's site and it says amethyst comes out in 2 months. Was there a comic con amethyst I'm not aware of?
For the second Doctor, I like to imagine they'd have him holding his recorder, prepared to play, for the normal figure and maybe his ridiculously bulky winter coat for a variant.
Got the Belcher clan for my family for Christmas.
I myself have a love / hate relationship with the POPs in general.
one hand, theyre the only ones with certain characters,(Bit more excited for Star Vs than I should be) and their non standard human ones look great,
On the other, their normal humans... eh
Anyone know how to fix the spring inside the bobbleheads? During the Christmas celebrations it appears someone had pulled a little bit on my Kylo Ren Pop and now his head hangs up a lil too high
Just picked up the Jabba the Hutt, Salacious Crumb, and Slave Outfit Leia pack. It was either that or a black series shock trooper but I didn't think it had enough articulation so I'd rather just save up and get one of the Figuarts sometime soon.
I think I figured out why so many keep the boxes. I don't own any myself, but I've seen so many collections and reviews on them I think I get it. There are probably a lot that do it for the 'collector' value, but:
>look kind of nice, and are consistent in style among all Pops
>easy to put a figure in and out of
>take up nearly the same volume as the figure would
People just keep the boxes to store them easier. The heads take up so much volume, even though the bodies themselves only require the space of like 2 or 3 Lego minifigures.
Higher rez with physical pops here. DESU I can only get so erect, but they're trying to push me over all preconceived boundaries. I'm loving these.
Also, who the fuck is Varmik? Nothing on Wookieepedia yet for him.
>Pic unrelated, except for the obv Wookiee tie-in
I went back to mine a few days and now they only have the Imperial guards, not even the Snowtrooper I passed up. They've never had the TFA figures in stock to my knowledge.
I did get a couple of the WWE Mystery Minis though. I got Andre the Giant and George "The Animal" Steele, both of which are favorites of mine, so it turned out okay. I think the only figures in the set that I'd legitimately be disappointed in getting would be the Bella twins.
I just mean that we got, what, four Goku variants (regular, Super Saiyan, GITD Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God) in the first set? Maybe the new one will be kid Goku with the Nimbus at least.
Well there were 3 vegetas too. Regular, metalic and the outrageously expensive Arlia vegeta.
They're just easier to make variants of.... Though I'm surprised there wasn't a turbanless piccolo or blue cell jr
Posting for curiosity
I see these things all over the place now. I'm a wargamer so get the obsessive collecting of things, but what do you guys see in these weird disproportionate bobbleheads?
They have released so many lines now it must be impossible to collect every single one, doesn't that annoy you as collectors?
And they come and store in cube boxes, doesn't that take up a hell of a lot of space by the Tim you have 50/100+. They're not even interactive like Lego, or an action figure, they just sit there in the box.
I have a NEET fb friend who spends his welfare cheques religiously on these figures then complains about not being able to afford food etc. it's obsessive
Help me understand /toy/. Why?
Sometimes a shitty line of toys is the only source of any type of figure a certain license will get
That is why I bought a Pop
I think they are retarded and I think I am retarded for giving money in exchange for one
But I also really like a certain license
It's a shitty balancing act that you learn to accept as you grow older in this world
Never grow up.
You said you are a wargamer. Then you already know the answer to your question.
I understand this for I too came from the same place you did. Get the fuck out of this thread. Now. While you can. Even if you do, someone might give you a Lilo or Stich or something and then you're in.
We both know you have $3000 worth of unpainted plastic already, at least Pops are displayable and do they really take up more room than miniatures? (no)
The Nendos are still fairly on-model though. It's more like Nintendo doesn't want a Mario with a square head and big black eyes.
>Probably Fat Buu
fucking hell, just give me a Cell Games Gohan, Super Saiyan Future Trunks, and a Super Vegeta and I'm good.
If its a kid gohan and a chibi trunks im gonna be bummed.
Thinking of starting up a subscription box, mostly for pops. Which would you guys recommend for pops? It's a toss up right now between Lootcrate, Marvel Collector Corp, Smuggler's Bounty, and Pop in a Box.
If you are into Marvel or Star Wars I would get Collector Corps or Smuggler's Bounty. Lootcrate is ok, but doesn't always have a pop in it, so I would just subscribe to their newsletter or whatever so you know when to order the boxes that has a pop in them. Pop is a box is a cool idea idea and its cheaper than the others and you don't get any of the other crap, but its just pops you can buy in the store, not exclusives. So I guess it just it just boils down what stuff you are interested in the most.
Will there ever be Metal Gear Pops?
I just want an MGS figurine that I can afford.
>tfw just pulled the trigger on Marvel Collector Corp
I know I know. I just want to get her soon so it doesn't turn into the situation where I kept putting off getting the Amidala Pop, now she's going for $60-80 secondhand and it's not worth spending that much.
I'll pop in tomorrow and check. Don't recall seeing any Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill stuff at mine when I was there earlier this week but things could change. There's another that's slightly out of the way I could check too.
I've got some Hot Cash to use for $15 off a $30 purchase or something. Might have to grab Ithano and a couple of others to use it. The missus' birthday is this month so maybe I'll grab a Natsu to go with the Happy she got for Christmas.
Score at HT today
Of the new pops they only got in 3 Han Solos and 3 Batmans and they sold out right away. They had one Batman left but he was being held for someone
Oh, man. Aquonan's getting a POP!?
So where do you guys find your exclusive variants and chases? I know there are wwalgreens, target, etc. exclusives. But where do you shop?
I live in a town with a target, walgreens, hot topic, vintage stock and a couple local comic shops, but I can't really find any rare variants anywhere and I want to find them in stores instead of ordering them online if ever possible.
I'm also moving to a small town with only one comic shop and shitty retailer selection, so I may be fucked, but I'll be an hour outside a major city tons of stores, I just need store selection.
I've not been able to expand my collection for a few months simply because I ran out of shelf space and couldn't rationalize buying more... But then I got like 7 for Christmas... And we got a bookshelf... So now the collection is on again I guess.
at pretty much all those stores you listed, it just varies from store to store. Lucky for me I live near an outlet mall that has a Hot Topic and they get a lot more inventory than other stores.
I think it was meant to be out at the end of January/early February. I'm wanting to grab a Sidon myself. I finally picked up my first TFA POP! today with helmet-less Poe today.
I stopped shopping in physical hot topic stores. All of the employees are complete assholes and people who buy in bulk to flip are on a automatic pull list. So stuff is gone as it comes in.
The only chase figure I have ever found in a store was a batman in Kohls. And that was only because they stocked them 2 christmases ago, kind of a one off thing.
I also like to shop at antique stores. One by me has a small vendor that maybe has like 10 pops at any given time. They are all 5 dollars each. Havent seen any super rare ones though. There used to be a gollum, but i think the owner pulled it the day the price spiked
Hot Topic shipping is so damn slow. Like, you would have to go out of your way to find a shipping route this slow. My Star wars wave 2 stuff wont get here till the 14th, and it shipped a couple days ago. Its going from Georgia to california
It's completely random I swear. I've gotten stuff from there within like 4 days of it shipping, and then back in October I got like free 2 day shipping and it took over 2 weeks to get here. really shitty shipping imo
My last figure came in the mail today. Ah, feels good to have them all.
I'm ready for Series 3 now! Hoping it's announced in February.
People were bitching so much about this when Wave 2 was posted on Facebook.
>PRINCESS Leia!? Um, excuse me? She's a GENERAL and doesn't need to be wearing a girly dress. Why would you do this, Funko?
Anyone know if Goofy is still out there? I don't collect many of these but they're pretty cool. My dad is a big Goofy fan and I've been searching in some stores and nada. I went to a convention a couple years back and some stands had literal walls of these things, and no Goofy.
I heard that they confirmed waves of Sailor Moon and One Piece characters.
>Sailor Moon w/Luna
>Sailor Venus w/Artemis
holy shit, fucking CRINGE
Just went to a few walgreens trying to find the new exclusives...Taskmaster, green goblin, etc... I walked to the toys, didnt see any, then started to walk out. I got stopped by the manager and she asked if I was looking for anything specific. I showed her a picture, because they never know wtf im talking about.
This caused her to go overboard and call around to every store within 50 miles for me, painfully trying to explain to other managers what they were. She kept calling them star wars toys on accident. Good on her for trying to help me, but it was a bit overboard. People were walking by laughing and saying stuff like "jesus christ..." while she loudly says "YEAH, THE GREEN GOBLIN STAR WARS TOY". Fucking embarrassing for me even. Ended up not finding any
>This caused her to go overboard and call around to every store within 50 miles for me, painfully trying to explain to other managers what they were.
you could've walked out at any goddamned time. Now everyone in town thinks you're a sexless virgin nerd.
she seemed really nice and was trying to help me, just other shitty customers making comments and stuff made it all really embarrassing. Ive never had an employee care anywhere near that much from any store, so it all seemed like a bit much
Needs more Sogeking, but I'm sure the missus would love a Chopper and she'll be psyched for more Sailor Moon stuff.
It is weird that they do that, but they're fan favorites, I guess. I'd much rather see the crew collected in a couple of waves with the odd supporting character littered in.
Definitely picking up Black Panther. Giant Man is pretty awesome, but I'd rather just pick up the current Ant Man. They should have Ant-arrow Hawkeye.
GIANTMAN TRIPLE CONFIRMED
and what the fuck is so secretive about Spidey? is his costume like incredibly retarded looking, and thats the joke?
Well that's bullshit. If it's worse than the wrestling costume from the first Spider-Man movie, I'm gonna be pissed that they didn't just make the Amazing Spider-Man films canon to MCU and keep Andrew Garfield in since that could've worked.
I signed up for the Resistance box earlier today as my first and wasn't given the option. It just refreshed the page after checkout to say that my cart was empty. Too bad, chrome Phasma and that First Order TIE pilot look pretty awesome (I'm a sucker for the pilot uniforms in Star Wars).
That's quite the line up. I see Amazon didn't want the unmasked Tony this time. Ha ha
The Autism lords taught them quite a lesson about exclusive stickers and they wound up refunding @ 80% of the run.
>The Autism lords taught them quite a lesson about exclusive stickers and they wound up refunding @ 80% of the run.
this is so retarded. Same shit happened with Songbird and gamestop, just go look at the reviews for it on their site. THey are all complaining about not having a sticker and giving it 1 star...when in the real world, i think it is one of the best designed 6 inc h pops there is.
Nathan Drake got an updated picture, and is now available to preorder on entertainment earth
Speaking of sticker lunacy, the day I bought my helmet-less Poe, the family and I were at Target earlier in the day so I decided to look for the Roddy Piper POP! that's supposed to have begun stocking lately. They didn't have Piper, but they did have two poorly painted helmet-less Poes that someone had bought, peeled the "Wal-Mart Exclusive" stickers off both, and then returned them to TARGET. What the hell was going on there?
I could care less about the sticker thing, but I'm glad I didn't pick up either of them. When we stopped by Wal-Mart later, I found one that is perfectly painted and a dollar cheaper than Target's.
im not sure thats the case. Sometimes Target gets Walmart stock, idk why it happens. One time I saw piles of the racing stripe toothless pop from how to train your dragon, which was a walmart exclusive in Targets display....walmart stickers and all
>Didn't they also confirm that he'd have multiple costumes throughout, including one from Stark?
Haven't heard anything about that but I wouldn't be surprised since in the Civil War comics Tony gave him the Iron Spider suit as a gift if i'm remembering right.
Most exclusives come with a sticker saying "[insert store] Exclusive". Apparently some people feel that it's somehow a severe detriment to collectibility if exclusives don't have stickers and will raise all manner of hell about it in the most psychotically obsessed manner, even if said exclusive wasn't released with a sticker in the first place.
There was an Amazon exclusive unmasked Iron Man for AOU. When it shipped there was no sticker saying exclusive on the front. Some autists and crybaby manchildren raised holy hell on boards and cried to Amazon. Not ready for the backlash, they refunded the price of it plus you got to keep it. Then it got posted about what they did and even openers call Amazon to get refunds. Eventually they stopped it but someone who demanded a refund & keeping it threatened legal action because of all the posts of people who kept it. Amazon said they had an almost 80% refund rate on it and declared people were fray ding them after a while.
Needled to say, Amazon got a lesson in how scummy collectors are these days. Hell rip off Mattel just sent out sticker sheets for people to put on themselves after they had an incident where a He-Man Classic figure that was missing their sticker and the basement dwelling cry babbies bitched a fit.
I'm honestly surprised that they've not made more prequel characters, like Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Count Dooku. I think the only ones they've made are Darth Maul, Queen Amidala, Jar Jar, Jango Fett, and the various Clone Trooper repaints.
