Nostalgia Thread

I'm so happy that between the 90's nostalgia boom here and in Japan, us 90z kidz finally have a bunch of awesome toys of the stuff we loved as kids, or a second chance at them in some cases.

My main childhood love was Beast Wars, second being Power Rangers and Pokemon. And a bunch of Toonami aired anime and cartoons,TMNT, BTAS, and Throwbots. I do wish we got more than just 4 or 5 Beast Wars figures every few years, I'm not much of a fan of vehicle Transformers.

Stuff I'd like to see get a new line: Street Sharks and, especially, Extreme Dinosaurs. I'd put up with Matty Collector's bullshit for somewhat articulated versions of all those guys.

Also, how's the quality of Jazware's Space ghost? That feels like a stupid question, but I really loved C2C and cartoon Planet growing up, and love a proper figure of Tad.

I had theses old Gundam toys from when I was a kid, and everytime I see one, I pop 10-20$ a piece on each figure. Not models, but they are pretty cool. I think they're called MSIA.

I love MSIA Gundams. Honestly I'm not even a fan of the Gundam series, but I love the designs and idea of Gundam. I used to find lose figures on ebay for super fucking cheap too once they stopped being sold in stores.

I couldn't get behind the prices of the Legacy Megazords despite desperately wanting them as a child(the only MMPR zord I ever had was the Ninja Falcon Megazord). I skipped the Figuarts too since at the time I was between Sailor Moon and Power Rangers and was only going to pick up one of them. Went with Sailor Moon since Crystal was coming out this year. I'm hoping they do some sort of boxset of the whole MMPR team at a future Comic Con like they did for Samurai. I'd drop $200-250 on that no problem. Especially since chances are the Sailor Moon line will be done by then.

nostalgia is a really shit way to waste your money.
did you like it? yes. but would you still like it just the same? would it be just as cool? would it make you feel the same feeling?
I loved transformers, spiderman, tmnt and so on as a kid. but don't like them as much now. I basicly lost interest in them. there are a few figures I'd buy but they're either not worth the rape price, or the toys are just shit. thanks hasbro, I get to keep my money.

The knees on the Tyrannozord are such a boner killler for me. Those stupid pegs. Could've gone to the trouble of engineering a way to fold them into the legs of the zord to hide them or something.

Toys so rare that I began to think that I must have dreamt them up and never actually had them growing up. When I FINALLY found them again, I had to have them, no matter the cost! (two of them I actually paid a service to purchase them from a store in the UK and ship them to me).

They're not great, but I don't see how they would've done it differently in a way that doesn't look equally as awkward. And they clearly took priority on the Megazord design vs the individual Zords.

And with those universal connection pegs they use with the current stuff, you can make some asinine combinations. And some fans will get that janky Zord they always wanted.

I bought the Megazord and was tempted to get the Dragonzord, but after realizing they were going to release Titanus and the Tigerzord I just gave up and saved my money for something else. The Megazord is all I need anyway.

Try watching Zyuranger. It's pretty goofy in places, but it's actually a watchable show with a pretty good story arc.

Are there any places that are still selling the Legacy Megazord for not a scalper price? I saw Legacy Dragonzord in person earlier and I'm tempted to cave and get it if I can get Megazord to go with it.

Altogether (as some were sold in sets) that's just under $500.

Generally you won't find them less than $100 a set--the warehouse alone can be cheaper but like I said, these are CRAZY rare.

I don't believe so. I found one for $120 and figured that was the best I was ever gonna get and went for it.

Although the cheapo dinozord can support the weight somewhat okay. I don't know how it is now, price-wise, but it doesn't look too awful. All things considered, they're exactly the same minus die-cast in the arms, t-rex legs, ptero head and tricera/sabre tails.

The last time I saw them at an okay price was BBTS at $135, but they sold out almost immediately. And I can only find the plastic Dinozord on Amazon for more than the legacy Zord.

If you're just going for displays, you could always go with the chogokin Megazord for around $60, but then there's no inter-play with the Dragonzord.

Here's a tip, click the foot 1 phase back then you can lock the black panel and to have the "Z" logo flushed forward click the thighs 1 phase forward. Locks the black panel as well and makes everything properly locked.

No, they're not. I was just showing that the Megazord can(just barely) manage to hold the Dragonzord up. The legacy one has enough weight to support itself, but the plastic on tends to lean a little bit.

I think that's intentional, because otherwise there's absolutely no purpose in the ankle tilt. And the feet weight like at least a pound each, there's no way to prevent them from flopping down without it.

Regardless, not a mode I would keep on display for very long. If he were plastic, maybe, but the die-cast makes me a little nervous.

The only vintage sets I regret missing out on are Takanuva to go with Makuta, and Exo-Toa.

I only wish I was skilled enough in bionicle to make a badass Onua MOC. I have the gold mask and plenty of gold bits, but I suck at technic.

I'm pretty sure nobody wants a hot pink chest on their giant robot. Most pink Zord parts in general are more or less a black or white with pink accents if they're part of an intricate combination, only being pure pink if they're a singular limb on an already candy-colored robot.

Pink isn't a good color to throw around. And Sentai is targetted at children, and pink doesn't scream "powerful robot."
