I printed them at about an inch scale and just use pieces of a kneaded eraser to stick it to his face.

I was so disgusted with the Red Pyro that I refused to buy any more, even though TF2 used to be my favorite game and I love the characters.

I don't know why your surprised, every single one of these I've seen at my local Toys R Us have been covered in flash around the joints and major paint issues seemingly at random somewhere on all of them. They have shelf warmed severely here, Heavy, Demo, and Pyro were all over half off last time I was there a month or so ago. And they had several racks of them. I was tempted to pick some up not compared to their offerings based on other licenses on the same shelf they looked abysmal.

I don't play TF2. I don't have any of the figures. I don't even care about the game or anything.

But realistically, it is kind of embarrassing what they managed to do with this property. It is usually really, really clear which figures/lines that NECA cares about and which ones they don't.

It is pretty shitty that this is what they put out for fans of the game. When NECA cares about a property, they're generally pretty good figures, but when they don't care, the figures are just sloppy all around. This is why I tend to stay away from anything that isn't Predator/Alien/PacRim related.

I think the most likely scenario is that NECA took a look at the current state of TF2 and after seeing the cash-shop concluded that its player are very easily parted with their money.

I've been spoiled by japanese figures, but for the price it's pretty good, except for the fucking painted joints. That's a disgrace, it takes 5 minutes to get all the joints operational and you get paint chips all over the desk.

I wish he had changeable expressions and hands, but I'm probably asking toomuch for a 20$ figure.

And (of course) right after I get mine in the mail I see a bunch at TRU. Amazingly, of the 7 or 8 Engineers they had, two of them had their heads detached in the package. And the Spies I looked at had the same fucked up eyes/stubble that others have been posting. Glad I didn't want him.

The PR figures are kind of case-by-case.

Cherno and Crimson are some of the best figures NECA has put out as far as articulation, sculpt, and detail. On the other hand, Gypsy, Coyote, and Striker are almost statues. They're making a Gypsy 2.0 which comes out in a couple months, which looks to be on-par with Cherno and Crimson, so we'll see. They all look cool, at least. Though, the original wave 1 Gypsy has shitty looking paint. It is probably the figure to avoid most, since we're getting the 2.0 soon.

The Kaiju all look pretty sweet, and are just beefy and huge looking. Knifehead, Trespasser, and Scunner all use the same body, just with different heads, hands, and the pod on the back, IIRC. They're fantastic figures sculpt-wise, and have pretty decent articulation except their elbows which barely move. I don't have Leatherback, but from what I understand he really only looks convincing in a crouching/hunched pose. He can't really stand up too well due to articulation.

General consensus is that they all range from "Really good" to "passable."

I dunno about Striker (since Gypsy and Crimson were the wave 1 Jaegers) but that is supposedly true about Wave one Gypsy and Wave 1 Knifehead. That's why both figures are smaller, and have minimal articulation. Wave 1 Knifehead is about, 3/4 the size of Gypsy, while the updated Knifehead is probably a full head or more taller than Gypsy.

Basically, by wave 2 they were putting stuff back into the figures that they had to take out (more articulation, better paint, making the Kaiju bigger and more detailed) and now they're doing the better, more detailed, more articulate figures they wanted to do from the beginning.

The TF2 line is mediocre at best and the Left 4 Dead line flopped because NECA didn't bother putting in proper research and went with the least popular special infected.

Different skus make an item completely different from one another. That's why they can be different prices each wave, or per figure if done as solid cases. They don't affect the sales readout of other skus...if you buy one and not another, the computer only reads what you bought.

If something pegwarms...that doesn't affect the line because that sku is discontinued anyway before the new figures show up with their new numbers.

It prevents clogging because the computers order new skus regardless of a name. So Team Fortress 2 as a name means absolutely nothing.

Depends on how a company does their assortments. That's why Star Wars got fucked over, it's because Hasbro keeps the same SKU for most lines for years on end. So when stores get flooded with figures, and you get 2 or 3 pegwarmers, or more, then shit REALLY backs up because noone's going to order more of that SKU.

But because NECA uses different SKUs for each wave, you don't have that problem. If a figure pegwarms, then THAT SKU pegwarms...it doesn't harm anything near it. It doesn't harm the namesake, it's just that SKU, and eventually it gets clearanced out...but its' always discontinued.

All the Predator waves have different SKU numbers, it may be different now, but when I was still at TRU, you could do a search for "predator" on the computers and see every Predator related SKU since wave 1 (the "Predators" figures), you could see how TRU was raising the prices every other wave (watching the prices bounce from $14.99 to $18.99, to $19.99 per wave and back down again) and so on and so forth.

NECA, with the TF2 line, has done it a couple different ways. The first series was a case split between Pyro and Demo, then the blu versions were singles in their own cases (so that's two separate skus), then Heavy and Soldier were in a split case again, and then they split the blus up again.

So Wave 1 red is one sku, each blue character 2 more skus, wave 2 red another sku, two more blue skus, etc, etc. All in all it means the store will keep ordering them, regardless of if someone thinks the pegwarmers are "hurting the name" or whatever. It also means you can track which figure is selling better or more of, etc.

It's a trick that Hasbro is TRYING to do now with Marvel Universe (killed the old pegwarming SKU to force stores to buy a new SKU...which nobody can find and stores aren't ordering ironically).
