How about they're whatever people think they are and we don't get into stupid arguments because this is a Single Player Game.

Sometimes the shitposter makes the thread, ironically, and he always puts in a subject meant to start fights.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
But they totally are tho'!!!!
>>
>>55405349
Creation is made from the souls of some of the Primordials. Specifically, Cytherea and Gaia. It's not connected to them like their own personal world-bodies are, but they used themselves as the raw material.

That said, Exalted doesn't actually have any ki/magic distinction. It's all just Essence, no matter how you use it. Charms are explicitly referred to as magic, even the Martial Arts charms that are more like ki techniques. Not everything has to fit into your categories, man, Exalted can do its own thing with its own mystical energies.
>>
So minor spoiler for Death of the Outsider: The Outsider's Mark is actually his name, spelled out in the symbol-language of the civilization that created him.

Makes me wonder how that would interact with the Jumper's Mark that you can get for not spending any runes in the Dishonored 1 jump. I guess it would say your name, then?

They are magic. That's not at all debatable. What they're not necessarily is spells, depending on your interpretation.
>>
>>55405349
>Also if they're ki, that's stupid because implies the entire world is made of ki and ki is something that comes from the soul.
No it doesn't. Ki is everywhere, and in all things. It's the life-breath of reality, flowing throughout the cosmos. It's not something distinct from magic, either, that's only in modern stories to distinguish Asian mysticism from Western magic, the classic stories have people doing magic fueled by ki all the time.

Reposting the question I messed up on posting at the end of thread.

What "ki" is and where it comes from is extremely variable depending on the setting.

>implies the entire world is made of ki
So? Seems pretty silly to say metaphysics don't work the way they do just because you think it's "stupid". Especially when discussing a setting where everything is made up of tiny spirits and the laws of nature only exist because some junkies wanted a place to hide from some chaos rain.

Actual things:
It says by purchasing a digivice you get a Partner Digimon under both digivices. Should I be assuming that's one digimon per any amount of digivice unless you take the Twin Digimon perk or did I fuck up?

Since we get custom crests, and the crests and digimentals sync up for the most part, why not a matching digimental option?

If we buy both digivices can we have one transform into the other like what happened with TK's, Kari's, and Ken's?
>>
>>55405652
For the last one I mean, can it happen around the same time and not at the start of the jump?

Charms differ from the spells invoked through various practices of magic (sorcery, necromancy, or mortal thaumaturgy) in that spells are more exacting and are focused through sheer will alone, whereas Charms are an extension of the character's own inherent traits. Additionally, each type of Exalt or spirit can only learn Charms from the pool of Charms available to their own type (Solars, Lunars, etc), whereas access to sorcery or necromancy spells is only limited by the individual character's access to that circle of spells. Thus, a Solar cannot normally learn Lunar Charms (or vice versa), but all characters who have access to First Circle Sorcery can theoretically learn from the same pool of sorcery spells.

So there is a distinct difference in the two sets of abilities.

So do we have any items/perks that merge items and/or weapons perfectly? By that I mean something that gives all the powers and does not merge the forms together, for example say if you have a sword and a staff it wouldn't merge them into a halberd or spear.

>>
>>55405680
In setting there are three types of what we could call 'magic' : Sorcery, charms and thaumaturgy. Each are different, but we can readily classify them all as 'magic'.
As such any perks which effect 'magic' should potentially affect all three.

I believe you meant 'risque'.
Anyway, Tamaraneans can instantly learn the languages of people they kiss, and I'm pretty sure Heroes has some sort of Omnilingual perk, which sort of bypasses the need to learn languages in the first place.
I've never heard of a perk that let's you jump from intermediate, passable knowledge of a language to full-blown native speaker language professor.
There's plenty of intelligence and language learning perks in a bunch of jumps, so you could probably learn languages pretty fast without that perk.
>>55405512
Don't have any. What I do have is brief dalliances throughout my travels, perfect memory, and technopathy perks to offload my experiences into an easily transferable digital format.

About the closest thing my current Jumper has to a waifu at the moment is pic related, but that's still a work in progress. Mikotsu has made a lot of progress, dealing with many of the problems that weighed her down and hurt her. She even made peace with her sister. But even now, she's still dealing with a lifetime of neglect plus being imprisoned for so long as an undead in a hellish prison. Hell, she only recently regained her original, pure form while saving Jumper from the Light of Destruction! It will happen eventually, but not until she's ready. Besides, Jumper's own mind got fucked with by the Light of Destruction before she saved him, so he's not exactly in a good spot either.
>>
>>55405742
Actually all three of those things are various levels of Reality Warping friendo, everything in Creation is just experssing itself through Reality Warping within 'Rules' set by the Shinma. Just because White Wolf is full of hacks doesn't mean we have to be hacks too.
>>
>>55405512
Does Homura Akemi count as underaged?
>>
>>55405742
Doesn't matter what you classify it as. What a setting classifies something as counts, otherwise you could go "magic is a systematized tool people use to affect the world around them, therefore it's technology and technology-enhancing perks should apply". However, you are right, though for the wrong reason. Charms are referred to as magic by Exalted. Magic-boosting perks should apply to them. Spell-boosting perks shouldn't, but those are rarer than general all-magic perks, so it's not much of an issue. The only one I can think of off the top of my head that's specifically spells is Infinity from Seven Deadly Sins, and Val herself has said that she's fine with people applying that to charms.
>>
>>55405811
Yes. She's clearly not emotionally matured at all no matter how much subjective time she's spent looping, and is therefore a child both in body and in mind.

Who has not written a single White Wolf (In General)/Exalted (In particular) Jump and shouldn't have a horse in this conversation. That's kind of a presumtion when all the people who HAVE written them have fairly agreed that it's Life-Force/Ki/Reality Warping outright in some cases.

Despite having all female Companions, none of them really fall into that category. Katia and I are really more of old adventuring buddies at this point. Poppy is really a rival in the heroism, except we get along really well so I'm not quite sure what to call that. And Tristiana is more of a tag along. She's always hunting for the next big battle or grand adventure. I'm mainly a means to that end.

Val's the thread authority. Those shittier jumpmakers don't have half the authority they think they do to rule otherwise. if Infinity works on Charms, then Charms are magic and are affected by magic-boosters and similar perks.

End of discussion.

>>
>>55405925
Easy solution. Get telepathy and retrain yourself to judge a person's maturity based not on arbitrary assumptions about age and supposed life experience, but instead through seeing how developed their minds are, effectively seeing how mature they are but /seeing/ how mature they are rather than using the intermediatries we have to in RL due to a lack of alternative!

FTFY
And yes she is. If she says a feature of her jump works a certain way or combos a certain way, then it does. Anyone who doesn't like it is free to houserule differently just keep it to yourself if you do, plz.
The only time Val overstepped the mark is when she declared after making the Street Fighter jump that a part of the Asura's Wrath jump which she didn't make was no longer valid (the whole staying in the setting between the end of Asura's Wrath and the start of Street Fighter where you'd jump it as normal). Considering how much she does for this thread, I think we can forgive one tiny misstep, can't we?

Wukong has no right to make sweeping rulings regarding a setting that he did not write. His opinion on whether or not Charms or magic does not supersede Word of God on the matter. Meanwhile, Val just ruled that Charms and things like them qualify for Infinity.

>>
>>55406234
>The only rulings they should be able to make are on perks/items/etc. that they are wholly responsible for.
Exactly. So Val can say what she wants about her jumps, Wukong can say what he wants about his jumps and so on. So, where's the argument?

>No, they should not enforce their headcanon upon settings they did not create.
I hope you mean 'create' as in the jump and not the property otherwise this would be incredibly stupid.

>>
>>55406209
>You’ll live the rest of your life on Gaea, which depending on your perks can be a very long time. If you endure the following eons, you might yet witness the rise and fall of martial arts magic. If a Street Fighter Jump is created, you may spend ten years in that updated reality before jumping to another ‘verse. Changes you make in this jump apply to that one.
>>
>>55406220
Do you really not see the difference between the rulings "no, this aspect of the setting that I had no part in producing works the way I say it does" and "yes, things A, B, and C that are related to a perk I wrote are covered under its effect"? They're not the same thing at all, anon.
>>
This is his standard procedure to try and chase off a jumpmaker, just obsession all day in either direction. If someone dropped thirty jumps tomorrow he'd forget about her completely and target that one instead, because that person would then be one of the primary people keeping this thread alive, which he hates despite fucking making this thread.
>>
>>55406255

>>55406270
The AW jump allows you to stay in the setting for the millions of years it take to catch up with Street Fighter. The AW jump stipulates this, Val decided to say after making SF that you couldn't, despite it being about someone else's jump.
Although I can't remember her giving any justification for it beyond her not liking it. If someone remembers a better reason given please share it with me.
>>
>>55406280
Oh, well then that makes complete sense why Val would turn that down. Muyo doesn't really have any influence over the Street Fighter Jump since he didn't make it.

But that doesn't make sense, Asura's Wrath is the one with an option to affect a different Jump, not the other way around. Muyo had nothing to do with Street Fighter, why would the option in his Jump that allows you to change the setting using Asura's Wrath stuff be allowed to take president?

No. Read the jump not just the shitposts and you'll see it doesn't. All it influences is the time inbetween, it doesn't touch the Street Fighter jump.

>>55406265
You're a fucking idiot. Val never ruled on Exalted, she ruled on Infinity to encompass "learnable magical techniques". She's not ruling on other jumps, she's ruling on what counts for /her/ perk in a way that applies fairly to all systems without arbitrarily letting the specific mechanics of Exalted take precedence over everything else.

No, I don't. Jumpmakers can't rule how a setting that they're merely representing works. Clover should not be ruling that Aura comes from a metaphysical organ that isn't the soul, unless there is explicit evidence for it. Valeria should not be ruling that ki from Street Fighter isn't "life-force" when she had no involvement in creating the setting. They should not be forcing their headcanon onto other peoples' IPs.

Anon, your argument is "A Jumpmaker shouldn't be allowed to interfere with a Jump they had no involvement in without permission from the Jumpmaker who made it." Muyo has nothing to do with Street Fighter, Val is enforcing your argument by denying another Jumpmaker's interference with her Jump.

According to the excerpt an anon posted that I double checked and is in the Jump it does.

>You’ll live the rest of your life on Gaea, which depending on your perks can be a very long time. If you endure the following eons, you might yet witness the rise and fall of martial arts magic If a Street Fighter Jump is created, you may spend ten years in that updated reality before jumping to another ‘verse. Changes you make in this jump apply to that one.

It says plain and clear that any changes you make in the first Jump can apply to the second. That the changes you make in the prehistory of Street Fighter, Asura's Wrath in this case, carry over. If you make any significant changes in the former Jump like managing to preserve mantra that completely overwrites the latter Jump's plot and setting.

Then went with other races every jump, until hitting AF and picking Saiyan again. Would've been much more fun to go demon or something there, but I needed a fleet of Saiyans.

It's a more flexible version of the Big Gette Star, in that you can fuse with metal and make it your body, with no upper size limit. That means you can integrate any amount of technology with yourself.
>>
>>55407056
Wait what?
>>
>>55406924
Well, since it's described as being able to give pause to Fallen Empires... I would guess it's got the top-of-the-tech-tree levels of advanced tech?

Which means a Tachyon Lance for the main gun, similarly advanced smaller guns, Dragonscale Armor, Enigmatic Deflectors, Jump Drives, and so on with all the good stuff.

It's Tachyon Lance should basically one-shot every other ship you encounter, two-shot if it's got /really/ good armor. That's the biggest particle beam weapon the game field, short of Titan lasers.
>A more powerful version of the particle lance, this weapon fires a tachyon beam of immense power. Like its predecessor, its use is limited to large turrets.

Dragonscale Armor's pretty damn sturdy and self-repairing, the upgrade above neutronium materials armor.
>The Ether Drake's scales are made up of multiple layers of unique mineral nanostructures. Unorthodox manufacturing techniques allow us to closely emulate these self-repairing structures.

Enigmatic Deflectors are pretty ridiculous in terms of shields.
>These deflectors operate in ways that seem to defy the laws of nature. Somehow they can manage to muster a protective field many times greater than what could seem possible.

And jump drives are the fastest FTL you can get in Stellaris. Huge range, instant once activate
>A groundbreaking technological marvel, the Jump Drive shreds the local space-time continuum and rearranges it on the quantum level to be identical to that of the target destination - and thus the ship appears to near-instantly "jump" from system to system.

Also, depending on what scale you think makes sense for Stellaris, it's anywhere from Super Star Destroyer size to "that's no moon" size.
>>
>>55407066
It's revealed at the end of the series. The MC has been subject to various mind controls, resets, and magical castration throughout the series so as to prevent him from anything romantic or sexual with the girls.
>>
>>55407056
The MC has his sex drive suppressed by heaven until he gets married to his love interest, basically forced abstinence.

>>
>>55406924
>>55407069
Jump Drives are pretty decent FTL, by the way. As in, it takes you maybe two or three jumps to cross a galaxy. Only issue comes in at larger scales, where we know that intergalactic travel is possible, but that the game never gives you the tech to do. Only an enemy faction gets it.

What do you guys companion for?

In other words, what is it that compels you to drag other people into the worlds you visit, in place of just handling everything with your own power/abilities? Let's be real here, even a Jumper that goes all out on companions would have a much simpler time surviving most jumps without the dead weight.

Is it for emotional support? To justify pulling people out of their rightful homes? The lewdosity? Or do you just like having the personal cheer squad?

Waifus and laziness, waifus are fun and I just don't want to do everything myself.

Also there are numerous ways to use companions to vastly increase personal power. Such as using power sharing perks like those from Generic Isekai or SMT to get all their purchases for yourself.

That or companion focused builds that can let you massively buff all your companions to a retarded extent. Using Science! or Magic! to make all your companions just as powerful as you save for perks which end up being a trivial portion of your power thanks to all your gains form Science! and Magic!
>>
>>55407166

Omnilingualism (100 CP)(Free Drop In): You gain the ability to be able to decipher any form of communication be it written, spoken, or even hand signs. Thanks guys, being able to figure out the entire language from some gestures will be helpful when I get to the eragon jump.

Overlord NPC as the main companion because I need someone close to being my equal.

3 OCs from Generic Isekai, one male two female. They were free, really no other reason to taking them.

Nakiri Erina because I wanted a personal chef.

Shirayuki Mizore because she's got it a bit tough and I feel like helping her, not to mention it makes the harem in that series a little less difficult for the MC.

And I am currently searching for male companions, as it is obviously lopsided toward females.

Plus you know how some games become stupidly easy if you specialize as a summoner or just acquire a bunch of followers/minions? Jumpchain is kinda like that, having a group of loyal companions who're even just a fraction as strong as you is extremely useful.

It's also really easy to abuse companion imports in certain jumps to get more stuff than you'd normally be able to.

... I mean, we've got like five DB jumps now, so I think if you're interested in collecting altforms at all you'd have to be trying NOT to pick it up.
Which doesn't mean you can't, especially since it costs a buttload of points in some of them, but. I feel like, at this point, "I'm not going to be a Saiyan" is more of a conscious decision than not.

Anyway, I went Saiyan in the very first Dragon Ball jump, and then in DBZ I just imported into it for the sake of continuity. I mainly just picked it for the sake of being able to say I was basically meant to be Goku's Nappa -- and then I got distracted by hotdogs and ramen and called the whole planetary conquering thing off.
This is legit my story. Goku got brain damage, and I got distracted by food, and that's how the Earth was saved.

In AF I was a Freeza Demon, or whatever the fuck they're called, and I walked around Earth buying cute clothes and hanging out in coffee shops.
In GT I picked Android for the sake of discounts and very slightly altering the backstory, then immediately altform'd back to Saiyan, where I was somewhat comparable to Pan in terms of story relevance.

>>55407166
Cuz I think they're neat, and entertaining, and fun, and that's basically it.
>>
>>55407360
Nope, hp magic is basically command based low scale reality warping, now before someone reeees at me I want to say I dont care about magic vs reality warping, the kids and people say a thing and flick a stick and thing happens.

One thing that will always remain the same, outside of me and my possessions. Someone who will always be there. They can go if they want, but for a time I want someone who I can always trust. Who will stick by me. Who I can talk to and they can understand.

Also I really like certain characters and I want to bask in their coolness, I want them to be my friend. Lewd aspects are fine, but in the end sex isn't a huge priority on my mind as it is emotional stability and friendship and cuddles.

You'd be able to sense magic in things like wands, time turners, etc, and magical creatures. You'd also be able to sense spells going off. And you could probably get a rough idea of the intent behind the spells, since HP magic is so intent-based.

You'd also probably have better control over your own magic, so you likely wouldn't need to worry about accidental magic.

Also, wards and curses would be way easier to understand, probably.

I mean, to be fair, the sura's had spent the last thousand years in a war with the humans and all but the four primordial gods (Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva, and for some reason, Kali), and he /also/ banished all the gods to the divine realm, so it's not like he wasn't equal-handed about it. And some the Sura do like the place.

>The sura realm is a desolate and poisonous place. It is described as a huge, barren environment with a red and black sky and foul air capable of dissolving flesh. The gravity is so strong that ordinary people could have their bones broken. Despite the size, the landscape is monotonous, so it is easy to get lost. Because Vishnu's protection does not apply in the sura realm, suras who like to fight actually prefer their realm to the human realm. Superior suras have no need to suppress their powers, since this realm is much more stable and can withstand attacks that would otherwise cause massive destruction. In the sura realm, attacks that destroy several stars in the human realm only change the terrain slightly. Makara demonstrated this by shattering a mountain and explaining that the same attack would have destroyed a planet in the human realm.

That being said, yeah, he's an asshole who needs a firm shanking.

That kind of misses the point. You shouldn't get a ton of free CP just for going to a setting without "protection" for deities that aren't even that likely to do much.

Hell, there's settings like Chick Tracts, where there's an essentially insane omnipotent ready to smite you if it cares enough. And that doesn't have any special protection, and most certainly not extra points for not taking that protection.

Because both of them should be good hosts!
>>
>>55407946
You gain a flat amount of skill points every level (say, 100 of them) but the cost of skills changes based on how suitable you are for them. For example, if you're a snake, buying Swordsmanship will be more expensive than if you were a human. But generally speaking a skill won't get cheaper than 50 points, assuming you get 100 on level up.

Stats are probably fine linearly? I guess? I'm not a game designer, so I can't really give you a good answer there.

>>55407956
Basically if exponential scaling is "cost increases by 2^x (where x is the number of levels" then cubic scaling is x^3. So the slope is more gentle because the exponent is a constant instead of a variable.

There's, like, a crap-ton of people named Kubera. It's actually a plot point, so spoilers for anyone reading.

A mage named Asha is going around murdering them in order to do a ritual which will let him increase his Divine Affinity. The Suras, on the other hand, want to murder them all because... reasons. Something about the god Kubera having sacrificed his name in order to murder the Nastika, Ananta, (the due who's so big that he dwarfs multiple galaxies) and now wants to get it back, and Ananta's clan is helping him, because in return he'll help them find + resurrect Ananta or something? I'm not actually clear on the details behind this.
>>
>>55408058
Them being good hosts doesn't seem very important compared to this stuff about demons. It feels like you're confirming that you just wanted an excuse to get 1500 at the start now. Please handle it in the way other people have handled similar setting problems.

Which doesn't need to give points. It can be given up for free, like in any other jump like Worm that does similar things. You don't need to give half again the starting points for this when there are other, easily handled ways that still keep the interesting bits you want.

>>55408117
But why didn't you mention any of this actually important stuff about demons and fortune to explain it? You just said if you had that much fortune, the Gods wouldn't be able to do anything, so telling them to be good hosts doesn't matter for the problem here.
>>
>>55407987
I would clasify NPs as skills (in the isekai game system sense) rather than items. The comparison isn't perfect, but that's why I'd say you couldn't roll them in gacha. Although, would Servants count as monsters? Hmm.

>>55408046
Lord, no. This is all JRPG/MMO ripoff shit. You can generally advance pretty quickly if you're good at grinding, and defeating stuff strong enough to threaten you will usually guarantee at least one full level up. If you're anything like the typical LN protag, you can expect to luck into an easy kill of some high-level threat at some point early in your adventure, too.
>>
>>55407833
Being able to disregard the inherent danger of the omnipotents is a nice touch but is giving up that protection really worth 500 CP? Maybe include a drawback that forfeits that protection while also drawing their ire?

>Though if you want to go into the world where two high end reality warpers have full control over you and everything around you without my personal protection.... That sounds like a lot of FUN too! Should you chose this route you may find yourself under review from the Reality Warping system for the massive amounts of Fortune you have from being my Jumper, but I know some of my Jumpers are Hardcore like that you don't need to take it, though all the nifty stuff I may have given you over the years doesn't even exist in their silly little computer game so they can't just turn off your powers or anything like that, but they can sense your fortune and thus create great misfortune on an equal scale to however fortunate you've been on the Chain.

How does that look?

>>
>>55408402
I think both of those are factors, but the primary concern would be how far you are from learning it "naturally." So something that could eventually give huge biggatons, like Dragonball ki or cultivation, would be way easier to learn than a True Magic, which requires that you pull off some crazy absurd bullshit to discover, and marginally less absurd bullshit to inherit.

1. Would Ouroboros learn only their shadow powers or could they learn any unpurchased Primordial colors to copy other powers at a higher encroachment cost over time? If so can they learn new Primordial colors?

2. Can they learn the Eternal Evolution and Rulers Crown abilities?

3. I'm having trouble understanding Ruler's Crown. Does it essentially let you eventually develop all of the 100 and 200s for any Syndrome you have a Primordial power picked from, in addition to boosting the Primordial power?

There isn't any NTR? The heroine is pure the entire time and the protagonist marries her. The complaints are from the brainwashing, not NTR.
>>
>>55408434
Kinda of rambly? You've got an extremely long sentence there.

In any case, as far as I can see you only made their ability to somehow peer into other jumps explicit, without making it any less nonsensical.

Why give them the additional capacity to sense Fortune from other jumps in the first? This sounds more like a drawback idea than a choice made at the start of the document.

Also, you'd have had misfortune on your chain anyway, so unless they selectively ignore that it makes no sense to only be able to create misfortune.

...Though now I'm imagining the Unlucky Jumper ending up here, and somehow causing world peace and harmony on Earth just from his own karma through millenia of horrible luck.

>I'm not a game designer, so I can't really give you a good answer there.

I guess if I wanted to be hated for all of forever and eternity I could induce a Fallout-like reduction in power that makes you part of the Romantic Comedy level [Jumper: Class One, Limited] for the most part but where your powers scale up to foes as they get more and more serious? Eh, just a bad idea.

>>55408513

Yeah, now that you actually point it out, it's much more normal for stats to scale nonlinearly, isn't it? Numbers getting bigger over time is a core premise of RPGs.

>>55408524
I assume you mean in one shot, since you'd be spending MP on Upgrade, which would then recover. But yeah, with Empty Frame-sized mana pools, the first 10-20 levels of a skill should be pretty easy to buy via upgrade.

>>55408561
No. If you don't like it, don't pick that origin. Or shapeshift. Or accelerate your aging. I literally read a WN last night that featured a baby-reincarnate who had aged himself up to early childhood before his first birthday. It's not hard.

>>
>>55408617
>I assume you mean in one shot, since you'd be spending MP on Upgrade, which would then recover.
Well, I assumed that you can only upgrade in one shot, and not just do it piece by piece. Was I wrong on that? Or did you mean it more like upgrading something, waiting for mana, and upgrading it again until your whole mana pool isn't large enough to afford a single upgrade?

The big threat of UnHoly Son is that you're going to be under attack by a large, systemic organization that is very hard to neutralize completely. So you can't just have one big boss/rival battle and settle the drawback. That said, it's not too bad, because in both light and dark cases you can take "breaks" by distancing yourself from society, via questing or exploration. It will be way harder for them to attack you when you're miles deep in the wilderness, and you'll be getting stronger while you're there, too.

Both Summoned and Gamer have inherent advantages being Summoned or having played the game would give you but Reborn get a problem that limits what they can do right off the bat, you can either spend the jump as a baby/child or you can artificially age yourself up and just remove the origin as a factor for anything other than what perks you get discounted.

Not fluff, but only applies in-jump. It's a unique property/side effect of the way the world deals with souls.

>What's the level of durability A Hero's Title offers? Could you take an arrow to the chest with only a scratch, or is it more like "get punched in the face without going down"?
I'm guessing you meant Vigor? The important thing to remember is that the whole world has game system shit going on to at least some degree, so arrows and punches can break steel if the user is strong enough. But Vigor will allow you to shrug off regular attacks from people your own level, and noticeably reduce damage from everything else. An arrow that would normally pierce through your whole body might just fracture a rib instead, for example.

I'm partial to small, fluffy anthropomorphic things. Like the Moon People from Dark Cloud, or Mimigas, or Temmies. Because they're cute and small.

However, those don't really fit into most settings, so I'm usually just human. Or, failing that, I might be a kitsune, because it's mostly human except for the tails, and my tails are prehensile, so they're very handy.

Hello there friends, I'm a new person who's interested in starting one of these adventures, it sounds like a lot of fun. Please forgive my ignorance and autism, but I read through the rules (on the drive and also some stuff on the wiki), and I had a question:

Is taking someone's identity (ie, doing anything other than a drop-in) immoral? I might be misreading or misinterpreting something, but it sounds like you essentially take over someone who already existed and kind of steal his/her life for 10 years. When you leave, is that person then just left without your consciousness, and left to deal with whatever you did in those 10 years themselves (once time unstops after your jump ends, that is, assuming you fail or decide to stay in a different world). Because I'm not ok with doing that if I"m fucking someone over. I don't care if it's fiction, I'm doing a moralfag run and my specific goals for the chain kind of stem from that.

If I am misinterpreting something, I'd appreciate some clarification as to how it really works when you take an identity. Because I don't necessarily want to feel like I'm forced to laways have to drop in (since connections form the identity thing would be useful), but if rather than forging an identity and people thinking you've been there, you're essentially stealing 10 years from another character's life, I want no part of that man.

I don't think we've seen any Gods going huge? Mostly they hang around human size from what I recall, but I might be misremembering. Their shtick is "weaker but resurrect infinitely" rather than the Nastika "Strong, but live only once."

Fanwank terroritory. For leaving, I assume that you physically leave with your body, letting the world carry on without your presence. (Although time stops in worlds you leave behind, so no actually carrying on occurs.) For arriving in a pre-made identity, that's less easily solved. I just assume that each identity is effectively an alternate version of myself that I incorporate into my consciousness upon arrival.
>>
>>55409192
Re: The people you become via origin - This is actually pure fanwank territory. My personal take is that those lives are yours, and you've lived through them. You just didn't have awareness of your previous life/lives until the point the Jump starts. When you leave, that person leaves as well - They're you, you didn't take them over.

Again, it's an area of pure fanwank to begin with.
>>
>>55409192
No, you're bodysnatching anyone. Your background identity is /you/, inserted into the world with proper memories and such.

Barring a handful of very specific jumps where you do become a specific person (Devil Survivor 2 comes to mind with Alcor), but I'd call that more of a merger, since you become both everything they were and everything you were.
>>

>Jumper: Third Class, Limited Provisional (Free)
>This is your license Jumper. This world uses a sort of classification system that is somewhat like a parody of the Japanese engine licensing system. Gods usually introduce themselves with their name, class, category, and whether they're limited/unlimited. For you this is a method to get across just who/what you are to other very quickly as well as an additional layer of legal professionalism to other beings on the level of Gods and Demons from this world.
>In addition, this License can be used to limit your power to about one-third its maximum controlled output, so you don't blow a tree to smithereens if you happen to get a little steamed about something. This feature provisional, meaning you can switch it on or off at will.

How does this look? Just a fun thing I'm thinking about putting into Ah My Goddess.

The only two I can think of with notably high starting power and growth potential are from mob psycho and OPM It's not worth the cp cost in my opinion. Past that, telekenesis tends to have pretty massive growth potential, especially with certain perks from Psychonauts, but you'll have to dump an absurd amount of time into training it regardless. Very few TK perks in jumpchain have very good starting power.

The way I see it, when I build an origin, that origin is 'me' in that setting before we're linked together. I'm not taking over someone else's life, I'm linking together different pieces of one person.

But how (if?) those origins are created, when and why, can be a good question to explore in your journey and link together with the nature of your Benefactor, if you're into that.

It's up to personal interpretation. Maybe you're jacking someone's body. Maybe you reincarnated and lived a life as that person until the jump "starts" and you're just remembering your origins. Maybe the person never existed at all, and your insertion is just planting false evidence and memories of your existence. Maybe it's like Hilbert's "infinity hotel" hypothesis, where you take someone's place, but they get shuffled off into another universe that's identical save for your entrance, and the version of them that existed in that universe gets shuffled off into another, and so on, with no one actually noticing. There are lots of options available for this. Don't worry about taking non Drop-In origins, you're allowed to choose any interpretation you want that fits your morals.

Thank you for the clarification! I agree with >>55409290, the sheer amount of gaps is a little frustrating, I'll be honest in that I'm not very creative and tend to prefer stuff that's more structured and linear rather than purely open, but I suppose that just means doing this is sort of a challenge in terms of creative thinking, among other things.

I like the idea of the created identity essentially still being "you". Either that universe's version of you, who grows up to the point you collide (in which case jumping feels like you're essentially travelling the multiverse and fusing every universe's version of you together into some kind of Ultimate You - which in itself is kind of cool and could be kind of goal).

That, or I might just have it be essentially coming in and it's pretty much like a universe-wide mind trick to make everyone think you've always been there.

In any case, I'm excited to give this thing a go. Still trying to get the hang of the actual etiquette here regarding how best to post/talk about one's jumps. Do I just write big posts of my own experiences after I take each jump?

In any case, I"m going in already with sort of an idea of what I want to do, but I suppose that might change depending on how the first jump goes. I'll give the Pokemon jump a try and see how things go from there. Thanks again for all your help, firends!
>>
>>55409459
>>55409414
Exactly. You could probably pick up First Magic level 1 for something like 50-60 levels, and yeah, no CP backing or anything like that. You'd basically be inheriting the canon version via loophole.
>>
>>55409464
The class number reflects exactly how much power you have access to.

At first it was thought to be how much power you innately have at any given point, but recently through Urd's First Class Examination it was revealed that with a specific license, a goddess is actually restricted by their class once their power exceeds the class's limit.

So, while Skuld has little to no power to begin with, she's a second class goddess and has room to grow in once the FUTURE IS NOW. However, Urd, who's also second class, has tremendous powers inside of her (probably due to age and experience), but she is limited by a limiter, which can be removed by another first class goddess. First class is the highest attainable class, as far as we know. The lowest class currently known is third class.

Restrictions seem only to matter in the mortal/human world and yeah they have these things in place so they don't blow everything up.
>>
>>55409442
It's not the essence of dead gods, it's the essence of fallen stars. It's just a star falls every time a god dies. There are other ways to get starmetal, killing gods is just the cheapest and most reliable way. So he'd probably still like knowing that someone out there is killing gods to get the material for awesome swords, but not as much as if they were made from dead gods. He'd also probably throw a tantrum over you having a sword that he can't pretend was originally his before someone else copied it, so that would ruin the fun for him, too.

>>
>>55409192
>Is taking someone's identity (ie, doing anything other than a drop-in) immoral?

There's a lot of room for personal interpretation in how Jumpchain works.

My personal take is that jumpchain takes place in an infinite number of multiverses, which each contain an infinite number of universes. Within this infinity of infinities, there exist worlds in which the "me" of that world matches exactly with the purchases I have made, and I merge with each of these alternate selves along the way.

So, when I jump Sailor Moon and decide that by taking the right combination of backgrounds and drawbacks, that I take Mamoru's place, I'm not actually TAKING his place, I'm jumping to an existence where I already WAS him. and now, I'm me. A little bit more me, than I was previously.

Warehouse things I dunno, you'd have a bit of trouble moving it inside without some good shrinking. Maybe teleporting it in would work? Stuff like Motherbase from Metal Gear Solid or the SCP-2400 would have more than enough room.

Anyway, the new Dragon Ball GT planets are probably the easiest, just park them in orbit and they'll be alright coming along.

If it can enter an atmosphere, there's various large properties you can also use to tether it to. I'm partial to Motherbase for that, since it can be both a property and warehouse attachment, but there's stuff like the islands and such that follow you too.

And if you already have a large ship for some reason, you could simply dock it inside. Might be a bit of a tall order for the Eclipse though.

From the same author, Celestial Matters. A space adventure story set in a world where ancient Greek models of the universe are correct. Which again, means I have no idea how things from it should interact with out of jump abilities or items. It's just too different, even basic laws of motion are changed. Nah, not all jumpers. Some jumpers are insane and try to hold on to some strange ephemeral thing they call humanity. I've no idea why.

It's, uhm, rather garish with the colors and backgrounds?

Page 8 and onwards with the red text is especially hard to read on top of that.

>>55410061
Given the population around here, I would suspect that there are an absurd number of little girl dragon shoggoths among the jumper population.

>>55410087
Because I like being able to relate to the characters in a setting and view them as, if not equals, then at least as people worthy of consideration in terms of viewpoints/opinions/etc.

Achron. It's an rts with time travel, and you play as an achronal being, someone that is outside of time. This let's you send a command or two to people in the past and change what they're doing in the present. Add in sending units through time and a simple strategy is to attack an enemy base before it is finished being built, more complex strategies involve having units fight alongside themselves, attacks that never happen to scout things out, or avoiding the time waves to stay around even when the grandfather paradox says you should be dead, meaning units can exist when the thing that made them was never even built.

>>
>>55410138
Yes, I will acknowledge a slight bias towards humans in reference to people being people. They are simply the most common type of people, and the type I started out as.

If I'd been an elf to begin with, I'd be talking about retaining my elf-ness for some but not all of the same reasons.

The important thing is to make sure that the little people, of all types, always stay important to me in some way, even if it's a paternalistic sort of admiration. To make sure that I always see them as people to interact with instead of toys to play with.
>>
>>55410122
>But why be human.
I didn't say I was. In fact, I called humanity a snack. >>55410102

>>55410134

>>
>>55410179
Your arrogance will be your undoing, you know. It will leave you bitter and alone.
>>
>>55410170
and that's a good reason to fake being a human. It's like being a wolf in sheeps clothing. The lambchops practically deliver themselves.
>>
>>55410122
Well, I mean, if you look at from a psychological sense, "humanity" really just refers to the ability to feel the emotions and emotional intensity shared between most of the human race. With the many inhuman biologies inherent to these "inhuman" types of forms, it's very unlikely that the same emotional sensations would be preserved. When you get down to it, emotions are the only motivating factor in anything that humans or most other species on Earth do, in other words, without emotions, absolutely nothing has meaning, and the only difference between life in death would be that one requires the absorption of resources. The Ultimate lifeform is an especially bad case of this, as the ability to control one's emotions manually completely negates any reason for agency, as all pleasure can be artificially induced, regardless of the situation.

In short: for the pussy.
>>
>>55409941
Right. It will take sime grinding, but sure. The main 'limit' is that the more skilled you get, the harder it is to find a worthwhile way to train. Diminishing returns, but no hard wall. It's basically just fluff to justify the boosted mana pool.

>>
>>55410218

>>
>>55410240

>>
>>55410170
That's why I said it in response to a question about settings that wouldn't really work as a jump.
>>
>>55410247
I probably should have been more clear about my main point.

I admit that my argument only applies to beings that either feel no emotion, or those that have enough control over their biology to ruin any value in having them.

What I'm saying is that by maintaining humanity (as I define it) is the only way to actually enjoy such pleasures. Otherwise your just ab big naked blob pressing down the orgasm button in the equivalent of your brain until either you die or the universe/multiverse containing you does.

Dude with Hellsing, Boktai, Rosario+Vampire, and Skyrim / TES forms of Vampirism

vs

All three Pillar-Men + Dio pre-Za Warudo + Dio post-Za Warudo
>>
>>55410293
You need another form of vampirism.

>>
>>55410293
Are we talking Ultimate Lifeform Kars, or Regular Kars.
>>
>>55409762
Promethean: The Created.

The main premise is being less than human in a lot of ways, and I don't think many jumpers could handle that.
>>
>>55410293
It all depends on how much time they've had these powers for.

The bottom group have the advantage in sheer destructive power and versatility. I'd go as far as saying that they can kill anything that has any form of vitals.

In contrast, where Hellsing's vamperism shines is in it's growth potential, ranging from a high-end superhuman with impressive regen, to a nigh-conceptual mass of evil whose entire biology might as well be redundant.
>>
>>55410240
Would the A Hero's Light perk make you better at light magics such as healing magic?
>>
>>55410134

>>
>>55410293
Boktai vampires shine mainly in that they're unkillable and have weird darkness and soul powers, but in the chain that first thing isn't even applicable.

Ultimate Lifeform Kars is both A) being saved for a different challenge, and B) I'm desensitized and sick of the notion because of Jorge Joestar. Fuck it.

>>55410365

>>
Speaking of vampirism, where does it originate from in Hellsing? Is it demonic or what?
>>
>>55410415
>500-ish years

Hm... if you/they (not sure if this was just hypothetical or not) can win at all, it would be just barely. That's a little bit less than how long Alucard had it, and even then, you're just his fledgling, and even for a jumper, it's unlikely that you've absorbed as many people as Vlad the fucking impailer. If you win, it would only be because of a good deal of luck, and possibly a bit of prep time before the actual fight.

Beyond that, I don't know enough about Rosario + Vampire to talk about that, but I think that Hellsing vamperism will be pulling most if not all of the weight in the fight. And even then, I'm at a loss as to how you would even hurt these fuckers once you got that far, but that doesn't mean it's totally impossible.
>>
>>55410512
It originated with Alucard after he got buttraped so bad his anger turned into a curse on himself. It's unclear whether other vampires all came from him, though it's possible because he was indiscriminate as shit in his early days.
>>
>>55410523
>It originated with Alucard after he got buttraped so bad his anger turned into a curse on himself.
wot
>>
>>55410512
From my understanding, it came to Alucard straight from Satan, because he was just that pissed that he was about to be executed. Which makes you wonder where the fuck all the other vampires that Hellsing have been fighting for decades even came from.
>>
>>55410565
We know a sizable number are the result of Millennium / Nazi experiments.
>>
>>55410565
Well, it's not like only Alucard was offered vampirism in that way. We know the Major could have gotten it too.
>>
>>55410489
And that's why you get a horcrux, to get around that whole pesky need to stay alive so you don't lose just because you happen to be temporarily dead.
>>
>>55410448
They are an ever-changing mass of centipedes, hellhounds, human souls and a slush of tangible fear, not to mention the whole drinking blood thing and eating souls. And considering that the powers did actually come from the devil, I think this is one of the few instances where a race can be considered intrinsically evil.

>>55410616
Look, I'm not a fan of throwing around the terms good and evil too literally, but Satin is the being that defines what is evil, and in that sense, anything he does or creates is evil by nature of him being the one to do it. As such, a race/species created exclusively by the devil is by definition, incapable of not being evil.
>>
>>55410597
They still have free will though and can choose paths that aren't evil. Or are less evil. Like Seras, she kills trashpires and the only soul we see her take is willing.

I probably should have opened by saying that my argument only applies on a semantic level. And even then, only in cases where christian doctrine is the absolute truth, as it would be here, as we know that the biblical God and Satan not satin have very real power in this setting.

>>
>>55410720

>>
>>55410765
Not necessarily. Just because it uses the concepts of stuff like God and the Devil doesn't mean it has to absolutely follow what the bible says. There are many, many, many, many examples of things that have heavy biblical themes or outright biblical setting and characters that don't follow what christian doctrine (Which is more than a little variable itself) says.

Just having God and Satan have power here doesn't mean anything other than that they have power here.

Despite my desperate attempts to backtrack, I don't feel particularly strongly one way or the other.

Heya, the newbie who was asking about the morality of identities again. So I'm looking through the Pokemon one and I'm liking it. It's gonna be hard to come up with a full map of the 10 years, but that's why I like this, it's a good creative writing challenge.

Still need to determine skills and gear and whatnot, but I do think I'm going to be psychic and stuff. Kind of hard to work into my goals with this first jump, so I might either leave that into the next jump and enjoy the adventure here, or figure something out.

(My overall goal for this chain is to be an ultimate Servant of the Law - specifically, I want to be a kind of combination of ultra-detective and lawyer, going through the worlds to gain a greater understanding of legal systems and government, what works and doesn't work, and ultimately with the goal to try to make each world I visit a more Just place).

I'm pretty sure because of this I"m going to jump straight to Ace Attorney as the 2nd one to get some good lawskills right in there early. But I don't want to entirely stick to low-power worlds since I do want to gain power as well to make the job more easier. The hardest part of this whole thing is definitely going to be choosing the jumps - I was thinking just having it be random, but I'm afraid that would be too dangerous early on/risk getting me killed.

Is there like a tier list of something for jumps in terms of skill level/number of previous jumps recommended and whatnot? Again, sorry for the autistic rambling, I'm excited about this and might be overthinking.
>>
Okay, I think I finally found a decent compromise between the backgrounds and the texts for my jump. Though maybe it's just me, but some of the PDF pages just won't load on the Google Doc for some reason.

>>55410899
Eh, my current chain started with Civ. I spent more than 10k years there, which made my mindset well outside of human normal. The jump I took after that was a frantic scramble because I suddenly had no time (only ten years?!)

At this point my Jumper is "beyond human" in far more ways than just that, but not so alien that I can't understand people in general. It actually takes something significant to even get me to pay attention to individuals, whether for good or ill.

That said, I prefer to stay below the radar of the locals, rather than being a big dick about things. Subtlety has become something of my trademark.
>>
>>55410986
There is no such list, but you can generally ask thread's opinion on certain settings you're interested in but don't know much about.
>>
>>55410920
Admittedly, but we have little to no indication that either God or Satan in that setting give half a shit about what humans define as being good or evil, just look at Helena's nail.

Under that premise, the human concept of evil would naturally be defined by humans themselves. Naturally, if God just showed up off-screen and laid out specific guidelines for what is and isn't good, than my argument is incorrect due to a false premise.

Like >>55410804 said, just knowing that the two parties exist isn't infallible proof that everything in the Bible is true. But if it was indicated elsewhere in the show that the bible is totally accurate, than once again, my premise, and therefore my argument is false.

I hate the Primaris Marines not because of how they look, but because of what they do to the lore. We basically get to see the old Space Marines be marginalized and eventually destroyed like the Thunder Warriors. And unlike the Thunder Warriors, since GW wants to market the Primaris Marines as the big new heroes, the old Space Marines are going to lie down and take that shit without a peep.

It would have been far better for them to just make the Primaris design the new Space Marine design, no new sub-group in the lore.

Many jumps can actually be handled just fine without needing anything from the chain beyond the current jump. As such, I actually take a random approach to the chain: Every jump I take is selected at random from those jumps that I know enough about to write something for. This can lead to some interesting situations (taking the Fate jumps as an example, I ended up going through the Fifth grail war before I hit Prisma Illya and then going to the Fourth war. All of which were separated from each other by several other jumps.)

Pretty much the cheer squad thing (albeit it's a cheer squad of one) and having someone around who actually understands the things I'm referring to.

And she's really not a dead weight, a lot of drawbacks are a hell of a lot easier to deal with if you have at least one companion (amnesia ones for instance or ones where the local population hate you) and there are perks that make you more efficient when with a companion as well, the whole Watson tree in Sherlock Holmes comes to mind. Crazy CP efficient as well.

Plus there's just some situations where there's little to do and nobody of interest to talk to or jobs that I have no interest in doing but are reasonably important.

Note that those who hold onto their humanity also espouse the western expressions of Truth Justice and Liberty as the highest values. It's not that hard to see, especially given the proclivities of our neighbors.

It's the ultimate form of tribalism.

> It's gonna be hard to come up with a full map of the 10 years, but that's why I like this, it's a good creative writing challenge.

How the fuck are you so precious.

Advice from someone who overthinks his chains long before filling out the relevant jumps.

I'd recommend grabbing a memory perk as soon as possible. It takes a sec to realize, but before you know it, an absurd amount of time will pass, even by the 10th or so jump, and there are hundreds of these things.

On the note of filling out the 10 years, most people document their adventures in terms of major events rather than the span of time in each jump. As a result, don't feel to discouraged if two jumps that supposedly take the same span of time end up as drastically different lengths.

I don't see why they couldn't make Primaris Marines just an upgrade. Like tanks getting a new engine and larger cannon. They didn't replace the tank, just upgraded it. Old Marines should be able to go and get the new organs and the only reason they haven't all gotten them is because of logistics.
But no (at least as far as I can tell), to be a Primaris you have to have been built by Papa Smurf and his senile toaster lover.
>>
>>55411004
Don't think of them as hard-coded into the rules. It's just a result of things getting harder to train the more you've already trained them. As long as you can keep finding ways to challenge yourself and improve, you don't really need to worry about diminishing returns really hurting you.

First strike is way too good. That's absolutely insanely good for a 100cp. I'd go so far as to say it far and away beats even your capstones with how few limits it has.

Sturdy Scales is poorly written. The first part implies everything but your head is invincible but the second says that strong enough attacks can get through even with the upgraded version. The perk as is is at least 400 worthy and you need to clarify how it works and how strong something is to get through.

>Big Bad Boss
What special abilities and attacks are mentioned here?

>Thick Blubber
Unless this also has a limit on how strong the physical attacks it can bounce off are, this is also a much higher priced perk. 600 easy if there are no damage limits and I don't think the upgrade should be done at all.

>Fish Weaponist
Seriously. This is the 400cp perk in the same line as that one above. How are you so poor at balancing perks?

>Capsule Machine
Why am I paying 400 for tiny collectibles I still need to pay money for? The Arcade Gallery is the same. The Hammer is better than all the other items in this particular line by far.

There's actually quite a lot of item imbalance like this but there's so much that I can't be arsed with it. You NEED to get better at this Cataquack. You have utterly bonkers balance with genuinely powerful and useful things being super cheap often while stuff that's mostly flavour or fluff with little effect other than fun is the capstone or high priced thing.

contd maybe

Shut up Marche, you universe destroying little fuck. Literally everyone was better off in that world and you dragged them all kicking and screaming back into the crappy other one because YOU thought it was wrong.
>>
>>55410999
>K nowing your grammar
That's not worth CP. Not even 50CP.

>Endjump scenario
No. While I don't have an issue with an endjump being here, you having it be an even 'stronger' spark is just poor form. Do not have it be that you can just keep grinding up your post spark benefits from the spark like this.

Anyway, couldn't find anything else so I'll leave it there.
>>
>>55411336
>Literally everyone else

>>55411300

I think what I meant for Sturdy Scales was that you attacks won't damage you unless they're strong enough to overcome your natural resistance; if they get past that limit, though, they'll definitely give you a walloping! Should I get rid of the whole "invincible except head" part?

I guess I thought that First Strike wasn't the strongest since it never did K. Rool much good in the end; I based it on how he managed to make stunning raids at the start of each game, but he always ended up beat in the end.

What order do you think would work best for the Kremling perks, out of curiosity?

Well, for Thick Blubber I said "most" physical attacks; maybe I should be clearer that stronger attacks have less likelihood of being stopped by the perk.

I'm a little confused about what you're saying about Fish Weaponist. Are you saying that it should be lower or higher in price?

That's a good point about the Capsule Machine. What order do you think the Drop-In items should be in?

And I'm really sorry about all the imbalances; I try, but I just seem to have trouble figuring out which ones are better than the others before someone gives me a piece of their mind.

For K. Knowing Your Grammar, I just wanted to have some fun with that given the running gag in the series; could it be a freebie?

As for the Lost World Endjump scenario, I'm fine capping it at the average Spark level of end jumps. The main reason why I made things variable was because I was worried that people would use this as a way to get a Spark too soon, so I wanted to stretch things out without putting in too many specific restrictions.
>>
>>55411418
They got turned into zombies and instantly started attacking other people? After being utter shits in the real world? Sounds like the fantasy world gave people what they deserved. But you deserve kudos for providing the citation.

Ignoring that being turned into mindless undead for being a dick in, what, elementary/middle school is way disproportionate of a punishment- what about all the other people who might've been turned into monsters? It's shown in the opening that people were being turned into the different races to populate the world, and if the bullies were turned into monsters who's to say that all the other monsters weren't people before as well?
>>
>>55411103
It's not, because Primaris isn't an upgrade to previous existing Space Marines, it's a new Space Marine process. Old Space Marines are still around.
>>
>>55411468
Monsters are sentient in that world, at least that's the impression I get from the monsters in the captured monsters area in the game.
>>
>>55411404
If you're not actually invincible, yes, it would be good to remove that part.

Well unfortunately, you haven't included a bit in the perk that makes you always get beaten in the end.

Before I can even say what order, I'd need to make significant changes to them. The First Strike and Sturdy Scales perks both need big changes and Back for More needs more clarity on what it actually does. Is it giving you more toughness or endurance or does it only speciifcally work against knock outs?

Clarity would help as would examples of what counts as stronger attacks that can break through this.

Fish Weaponist? I was pointing out how awful it seemed in comparison to Thick Blubber, even if Blubber was nerfed FW does so little in comparison. It definitely should be lower in price.

Hammer as the 600, Arcade as the 400 and Capsule as the 200.

It just seems to be a constant issue every time and one of the causes that seems to be very common is you get lost in the series and forget that these perks aren't being taken by the characters or limited by the themes of the show. You seem to price something higher if it's more important to the show, regardless of whether that importance actually translates to power/versatility/utility and price something lower if it's poorly used by a character in show, even if the ability is extremely powerful/broad/useful. If I could give you advice, it would be to step back and try and look at your perks and items separate from your favourite shows so you think how useful they would be to someone without thinking of the ways they're useful to the characters.
>>
>>55411455
I don't see an issue with that.

As above, it's fine if it's capped to be just a normal Spark. That said it still has the issue of sparking too early. People can still take a weak spark and get all their post spark bonuses. Your fix hasn't solved that issue.
>>
>>55411468
Jokes aside, A) They're fine in the epilogue, so no harm's done anyways, and B) Isn't the mission they're in non-canon post-endgame?
>>
>>55411300
Oh, and for Big Bad Boss, I wasn't quite sure. It's sort of variable between boss. Sometimes it's an extension of your physical form like shooting multiple stingers simultanteously if you're a wasp, or spitting out bouncy venom balls. Sometimes it's something new like spitting out large coconuts as projectiles or launching fireballs. I was sort of imagining it as being somewhat variable depending on the creature you pick.
>>
>>55411465
>>55411490
You can't bring undead to the bank, so that's up in the air. Some of the undead talked, some just groaned or stayed silent. I think they were the later.

>>55411514
I think they're in one mission before then. Post-Game they get upgraded to vampires, which is also the mission where you recruit Ritz IIRC.
>>
>>55411517
You may want to give those examples then, since there's nothing to go on in the perk.
>>
>>55411556
I actually just assumed they died and came back as zombies instead of the game turning them into zombies.
>>
>>55411493
Maybe for Sturdy Scales I could say that it just ever-so-slightly increases the level of force it takes for an attack to hurt you. Like if a strong gorilla used to be enough to hurt you, now it will take a barrel of explosives, and so on. Or if a sword could pierce you before, now it would have to be something like a flaming sword.

Back for More was based on how K. Rool got himself back up after being defeated, so I was focusing more on the surviving knock-outs and critical attacks. Should I add in extra endurance or leave that out?

And what do you think I should do for First Strike? You pointed out that it doesn't fit well as the freebie, but I'm not sure what you want me to do with it.

Okay, I'll move Fish Weaponist down the line.

Thanks for the advice on the order of the Drop-In items.

And yeah, the jumps I work on tend to be ones where I get caught up in the themes. I'm a little sentimental. Sorry if it makes it tough to work with me on these things. When I get other opinions, I try to work to make things better.

>>
>>55411556
For Symbiotic Armor from EMH, do you still wear it, or is it inside you?
>>
>>55411504
That is an issue. But I like the set-up of each jump giving you a new level in the Lost World so you can slowly reach your final destination. My vision of it was it being set up to fit with the narrative of the jumpchain, with the way finally opening up when it's the right time in the context of the jumpchain's story. But I don't know how to set up reasonable restrictions within the jump document so people don't jump the gun. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas, please?
>>
>>55411090
Thank you for the advice! Maybe I will go random then - though I still don't know if I'll go "pure" random (ie, can randomly go to literallly any jump, even if it's an IP I don't know), or just random from the ones I know, or select a pool, or what. Since the first is already set as Pokemon, I still don't feel too bad by sticking firm on Ace Attorney being the 2nd since it aligns as a good jumping off point for my main chain goals. After that I can wander and do mostly random. It's probably good to have a variety of experiences between worlds I'm familiar with and ones I'm not. And hell, maybe I'll get interested in some series by exploring and doing research on a jump I'm not originally familiar with.

>>55411143
Thank you! I'll be on the look out for memory stuff. Yeah, I imagine normally the time thing would eventually drag on a mind. I'm sure by the 10th - 20th jump or so each decade will seem to whiz by, since the jumper is now essentially over a hundred years old. I read somewhere earlier in this thread there's a Civilization jump which spans centuries? That sounds more like a late-game one.

Speaking of, I know there weren't tier-lists, but what are the big ones that I should definitely stay away from/save for late. Like, the definite "end-game" jumps? Just from reading it seems like DBZ and Warhammer are among them, and I think I read Homestuck/Sburb is one too. I'm guessing Civ might be one as well?
>>
>>55411608
You still wear it, but it becomes more of an exoskeleton than armor because it's part of your body.
>>
>>55411637
At what level is it merged? I take it you can't remove it at that point? Does it become an alt-form? Does it retain the properties of inorganic materials it was made from?
>>
>>55411651
Check the notes; you can still remove it. It does not become an alt-form, and it does retain the properties of the inorganic materials it was made from.
>>
>>55411619
Civ you can do whenever you want and SBURB gives you more than enough to survive even at Jump one unless you go single player mode. The latter is going to be a huge chunk of power all at once though. Stay away from SMT and most of the wars in Fate would be nearly suicidal at Jump one unless you built for it. Exalted is another biggie franchise to save for later.
>>
>>55411664
Ah, okay. Didn't see that, sorry. If someone else removes it against my will, will that damage me? If it had something like an effect that made it impervious to death magic, rather than imparting immunity, would it no longer work because it doesn't actually prevent it from reaching your body?
>>
>>55411701
It depends on how they did it; if they just ripped it off it'd hurt, yeah. I'd say it still worked.
>>
>>55411619
>"end-game" jumps

DBZ and warhammer (Freelancer) are the only dedicated end jumps to my knowledge, and the former already has a non-endjump alternative out. Most jumps that can be endjumps can also be jumped normally, without getting the endjump rewards, of course.

As far as jumps that can potentially be endjumps, off the top of my head there's:
.Generic Sburb (Homestuck)
.Gurren Lagann
.Devil Survivor 2
.Angel Notes (nigh impossible, but has the best endjump reward)
.Asura's Wrath (There's a bit of controversy whether this counts, but the danger is on par with most endjumps.)
.Darksiders
.Kamen rider Decade (Gauntlet)
.Tenchi Muyo

Even so, there are plenty of examples of settings of notably danger that don't count as endjumps, so these are only a few notable examples
>>
>>55411722
Aight. Thanks for the answers, mate.
>>
>>55411596
Well, going from gorilla to barrel of explosives is a huge leap but the sword example seemsa lot more fitting for a 200.

Extra endurance would help it as a 600.

For First Strike, I'd suggest a severe nerf to it so that it just greatly heightens your chance of obtaining things and then moving it up to 200 or even 300. I don't think it could really work as is even for 600 but if you wanted it to stay, that's about where I think you'd have to go with it.

>>55411618
The most I could see, beyond the inherent issues, is setting a minimum number of levels that must be completed before you can reach the volcano, so people are prevented from getting there early. You could also say that low powered levels progress you much less than high powered ones, so if someone goes just for easy jumps than they'll take a long time more than someone who went to the requisite strong jumps.
>>
>>55411766
No problem.
>>
>>55411759
Most of those make sense, but the only one that has me scratching my head is Tenchi Muyo. I remember watching that years ago but I just remember it as just like, the introduction to Harem animes and stuff. What, is it the endgame for Harem/Slice of Life chains or something?
