Dorf anon here with a dilemma, really debating what mystical item would work better since the one or the other is situational in games, either the ancestral pick or the grudge rune. I've used the ancestral pick in 2 games which lets me take a character and unit within 3" and appear 9" away from enemies with ironbreakers and iron Drakes and I can safely say that that move has won me both games. I've looked at the grudge rune which lets you pick a unit on the board and all is it's in your army (including non disposessed) gets rerolls to hit and wound on that unit until it is slain which seems amazing. It's hard to pick between the two considering the grudgebound warthrong formation to get both is very difficult to achive with flexibility... thoughts on which item to go for?
>>
>>55267492
Personally, I'd say Grudge Rune is the better pick since it will increase the damage output against what you think is the going to give you the most trouble in the opponent's army. Of course there is the problem that you could pick the wrong unit to prioritize but let's face it, you run that same issue with the Ancestral Pick, just that you can potentially position yourself wrong trying to fall back or lay a trap.

Ultimately it falls on which one fits your playstyle better. Run a game or two with the Rune. If you feel the Pick did you better afterwards, there you go my dude
>>
>>55267492
Grudge rune only works for the hero that has it mate. It doesn't affect the whole army.

Dawi question.

Planning 3x Irondrakes running with 2xLongbeards,1xHammerers.
+20 Ironbreakers. I could run the Ironbreakers as longbeards or hammerers too, would that be better? Great weapons or shields on longbeards?

Other units available are 1-2 Wardenkings, 1-2 Runelords, up to 2 cannons/organ guns, 1 Cogsmith, 1 gyrocopter, 1 unbuilt copter/bomber.
>>
>>55268121
Why would you ever proxy Ironbreakers as anything else? They are the tits!
Greataxes *and* shields on Longbeards, the warscroll explicitly allows that.

Hello fellow dorf anon!
I recommend to take hammerers in a block of at least 20 they are dick kickers in combat when buffed with runelords extra rend, longbeards rerolls of 1 to wound, grudge and the warden King grudge.
Also take just 20 drakes, they are quite exe and you need to take more other units... that's all you need especially if you take the ancestral pick.
Take an extra runelord and give him the pick with whichever unit you want to tunnel because that extra rend is deadly with an alpha strike of iron Drakes, or the 6+ ward with a screen of 20-30 ironbreakers to sit on objectives
I've had succes with even taking an extra king so I can pop the ancestral grudge command ability twice with the longbeards ability which is quite nice, you can even try using him with the pick of you really wanted to...
With allies I would recommend a big monster to mix it up and as a distraction, like a magmadroth with a runesmiter to tunnel him in or my choice is a steam tank which I customised with dwarf bling, even a gunhauler with an escort of 2 copters or bombers sounds like fun as well...
Hope this advice helps in any way!

Heya all hotelier anon here to pester all again.

Looking at kharadron as i love the aesthetic.

Wrote myself a 2k list which includes most of the range (apart from the gunhaulers...) However is there any point in ever taking sky warders over endrinriggers? Looking at their rules the skypikes extra attack are not worth losing the +1 to hit, to wound and to rend.

I have 200 points and don't know what to drop in my army to get 6 endrinriggers. Another option i have though is taking a unit of irondrakes for 200 points. It means i would have no melee whatsoever but my shooting power would be hella strong.

List is

Admiral
Endrinmaster
khemist
navigator

3x10 company
1x10 thunderers
1 frigate
1 ironclad

The plan is to have 1 company and navigator in my side of the board to cap objectives where the navigator would be in sight of both my ships. frigate with khemist and gunhauler in frigate for hit and runs. The ironclad with the 2 other company, admiral and endrinmaster for swashbuckling fun.

i could cut a character off so i have 6 riggers attached to the ironclad and be guaranteed the triumph. Or i could get a unit of irondrake to provide covering fire when enemies deep strike on my side of the board.

The aim of the list is to look fluffy but also be somewhat playable and fun to paint.

I have a rules question, yesterday i had a skirmish game where my opponent killed one of my blood warriors and then before removing my warrior i used his no respite ability. My opponent then tried to activate another one of his models to attack after i resolved the attack saying that it was his turn to attack again.

My question is: isnt the no respite ability suppossed let me attack immediately before i remove the model from play thus circumventing the order of activation? i believe it was my turn to activate another one of my units elegible for combat.

What do you guys think???
>>
>>55270153

>implying GW is some how legally bound to commit to what they write in their fiction

They're not. They'll bring back TK in a big official way ONLY if it makes good financial sense, not because of something one of their fluff writers wrote. Sadly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7RNAPdJTAs

Somewhere in there (towards the end) he mentions how TK were never brought up by a single question or by any GW staff. Not a good sign imo.
>>
>>55270178
blood warriors attacking after theyre dead, but before theyre removed from combat, doesn't count as one of your unit activations for the purposes of resolving the combat phase.
>>
>>55270178
It says nothing about order of activation, you pile in and attack before you remove it. You dont activate it again. Itll be your turn to activate after he has killed your dudes and theyve attacked.
>>
>>55270178

It doesn't affect the turn order at all. It says the dead model can attack and that's it.

So it means:

Player A attacks Player B's bloodwarriors
Bloodwarrior dies and ability activates so it gets to attack.
Player B chooses next unit to attack.

Interestingly, there is push in head office to rerelease a lot of the newer skeleton plastics as part of a bigger death release. Things like the necrosphynx and tomb guard and anything that was part of the last major TK release. Thered be no new models, and no new rules, but some of the compendium stuff would be folded into deathrattle. The pushback is that these models have been gone so long theres no reason to, and even the higher ups know that most of the people who want them are salty grognards (Actual quote) who wont buy them even when they do come back.

Hmm, at first I was inclined to say you measure when you roll your attacks (after pile in) but now idk.
It just says "in the combat phase", which could mean "all models within 3" at any point during the combat phase". However, running that interpretation opens new questions. If a model in a multi unit combat was in range of the ability at the start of the phase, but the wrathmongers are all slain, does it still get the extra attacks because it received the buff at the start of the phase? That doesn't seem correct.
RAI is probably to check for the ability after pile in, since that's the simplest option. Honestly, the "in the combat phase" statement could be dropped from the warscroll and it would remove confusion.

Short answer: no, there is no aligence traits that help your shitty list, and replacing with 40 clanrats wont help
Long answer: read what the other anons have said if you dont want to cripple yourself because "muh list is already maed"
>>
>>55271310
Yeah, im inclined to think check it just before attacking and as you say its the simplest but still, raw seems to be to vague. Still dont know why people doesnt seem to bother about this rule description as it has been imposible for me to find a clear answer. Thx for the input.
>>
>>55271390
I always assumed it was right before you allocated attacks, so if you piled out of the bubble range you lost it
>>
>>55271312
Yeah, I see this now. Welp, so it's about time to drop the skaven for good. I picked them because they were cheap as fuck and fun to play thanks to the units variety. Now they are not cheap or fun anymore - I see no point in running 1000pts army with 600pts of battleline. I have a pretty nice aos budget right now and the birthday next month so I would rather spend two times more money on a new real army than $150 on stormfiends and friends: the sitcom
>>
>>55271322
Im sure theres loads of stuff, but nothing relevent off the top of my head. I dont usually hear too much about upcoming releases, but I hear bits and pieces, most of what we hear is 3 months in advance, about when white dwarf is written. All I know is 40k stuff atm, all the codecies that are upcoming before the end of the year are whatt people are talking about. I actually heard about the 4 new AoS heroes next year from a rumor site before I heard it in person.
>>
>>55269861
It's vague right now. They might flesh it out later.

We didn't learn the origins of the old races or the old world until they were deep into the narrative, give it some time to develop

Huh.
>>
>>55270598
Since it doesn't specify a time of activation then it is a continuous ability.

When a model attacks check if a wrathmonger is within 3". If so, you can add 1 attack to each of its melee weapons.

One unit of stormfiends. Combine the acolytes. Drop the teams and a cannon. Give your general verminous valour and put him near the acolytes. Or, drop both cannons for doomwheels, and play vial of the fulminator and deranged inventor. The problem isn't skryre, its your list. You posted your list like 5 times, and got nothing. Maybe don't act like a cunt when people try to help.

Update from BCR painting anon.

My first try at skin. It's Rakarth Flesh base, then Kislev Flesh in four thin layers. Then two reikland flesshade for dark cracks. From there a bunch of layers of super watered down kislev flesh getting a little smaller and adding some white each time.

I really like how it looks at arms length, but up close it looks like a retard with crayons couldn't stay in the lines. Is there a wash I can put over it to help blend, or on the next guy will I just need to do double the transitional layers?

As I said, I'm not gonna buy anything so why are you wasting your time? I just asked if there is any useful skryre ability for my list - that's all. If there is none, why do you even bother?
>Maybe don't act like a cunt when people try to help.
Again, it's not help when I'm asking about apples and you are replying to my posts and write about oranges. At this point you are the same kind of poster as this Anon replying to every post with "drop your army and buy SCE". I want to use my SoD units or don't play skaven at all and I pointed it out few times at least - I see no help in "drop all your shit and buy doomwheels, stormfiends etc".
>>
>>55272787
just use something like Lhamean medium mixed with reikland fleshshade. In something like 1 Reikland to three Medium
and wash the model. It should even out some of the rougher transitions.
>>
>>55271508
Wow, an anon with the opposite tastes as me. Stormfiends are just about the only interesting Skaven at all, and certainly the best non-hero sculpt. The rest look like shitty melted snot with cloaks, and way too numerous and samey.
I'd be absolutely thrilled if my battleline was as cool as stormfiends.

Long time WHFB/40k player, looking to get started with Aos. Thinking of going Sylvaneth, what are some viable builds for them? Is getting 2 SC boxes so I have 2 treelord/ancient/durthu and a core of 30 dryads then building from there a good idea?
>>
>>55273255
That's a fine starting point.

I don't have too much experience with Sylvanneth except that they're interesting and tactical on the table (with wildwood summoning and forest step teleports), great models, and strong but not top tier.

Your heroes and artefacts are hugely powerful, from a seed that lets you reincarnate to the thicc god queen on her attack beetle or drycha or durthu.

Here's a thread about them:

I've been having trouble with skin myself, because too much contrast looks terrible on skin.

I use Bugmans Glow as a base, then completely cover it in Cadian Fleshtone. Then I go over the whole model with Fleshshade+Medium, clean up the Cadian, and do very very slight highlights with Kislev.

It looks bretty gud

someone was asking about warplock jezzail conversions last thread.
Ive been scouring ebay for cheap IoB warlocks and converting them into jezzails with a clan rat meatshield in front.
The left rat is using a Transuranic Arquebus. the arms from the sprue needed a little green stuff to fit right, but results were good.
The other two guns are kroot rifles with the stock cut off so they can easliy be glued onto the exisiting stock of the model.
As a bonus the kroot rifles can connect up to the exisitng cables
Also would recommend changing out heads.
I used a leftover WLC head and stormvermin.

Well according to that video posted last thread, one of the reasons they're having problems with the older armies, is how are they going to look and fit together as a whole when updated. The example were Free People, the ones from Azyr are what we have now, but what about Ghur, or Chamon, and how would those keep a unique look yet fit together cohesively with those old empire models?

So, yeah there's a possibility but it's probably not going to be any time soon.

>>55276579
I'm asking because there's very few sources for lists post gh2017 that are competitive and wanted to put my finger on the pulse of the AoS hardcores before I buy a bunch of models that potentially may not be viable. Example, never used Enlightened don't know if people will be using these competitively or just spamming Skyfires (which are harder to jam in 1000 puts [two units]). Also, everyone and their kid at my legs are fielding 400+ pt monsters even at 1000 points - is LoC obligatory and if so fielding him and a shammy is difficult to squeeze but I feel the shammy is also necessary for the incredible bonus it gives to Skyfires - things like this are driving me bonkers and I can't seem to find tested advice anywhere.

While I'm on the subject of reasons why I asked about my particular list, do you think I have enough "core" to be able withstand heavy melee units? ie can I do enough damage with the chaf I have to protect me to shoot up the enemy before their able to wipe me out/control objectives.

Okay. Check this shit out.
You take the Moonclan Grot Warboss as your General.
Give it Big and Brutish
Give it Battle Brew
Take Prodder and Squig
Your boss now has three different 4+ 3+ -1 attacks: One that is D6 shots at 14" and does 1 wound
One that is 4 attacks with one wound each
One that is 4 attacks that deal d3 damage each

So say you want a thing dead. You have your boss take two swigs of the battle brew. You now have +2 to hit and wound with all weapons. You have him drop his ability, I'm Da Boss Now Stab Em Good, on himself. Now when you roll six or higher to wound you do double damage. This means if you roll 4 5 or 6 you deal two wounds with your ranged weapon and the basic prodder melee weapon. With your squig you're now doing d3 x2 right?
WRONG NIGGA
Down in one makes it that if you roll six or higher to wound with your squig you do d6 damage instead. This means if you roll a 4 5 or 6 with your squig to wound, you do d6 x2 damage. You have 4 of these attacks. You have the potential to deal 12 wounds with a single one of these attacks and you have four of them PLUS what you did in shooting and what you did with your prodder.
So to recap
You turn a 14" d6 4+ 3+ -1 1 turned into 14" d6 2+ 2+ -1 1 that doubles damage on wound rolls of 4 5 or 6
You turn a 2" 4 4+ 3+ -1 1 into a 2" 4 2+ 2+ -1 1 that doubles damage on wound rolls of 4 5 or 6
You turn a 1" 4 4+ 3+ -1 d3 into a 1" 4 2+ 2+ -1 d3 that becomes a d6 x2 damage on 4 5 or 6

Sure you now take d6 mortal wounds, but hey, Big and Brutish were taken so that way you now have to roll 5 or 6 to instantly vanish

Fimir WILL be a new thing when forge world gets off their collective asses. They've spoiled 3 new, as of yet unfinished models, have room for two upgrade kits or three more additional models, had a points value for one of the spoiled but unreleased models on FW, and have their own section on forge world's site, despite literally only consisting of a single unit at the current time

Hi guys.
I've decided to get into AoS, but I've never really been into miniature models up until now. Could anybody point me in a good direction for how to get started with model prepping and painting? I see all this stuff about mold lines, cork, sticky tack, brushes, painting styles, etc. but I don't know where to begin.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
>>
>>55284117

Which minis do you like the most?
Find an army you like, then get the minis, their Paint Bundle + Primer Spray (usually Chaos Black) + Brush essentials + Plastic Glue. And at any hardware store get a Hobby Knife. Then google how to make a wet palette.

There, you're good to go
>>
>>55284174
Also model clippers.

And think about bases. Finished bases add a lot to models. Usually a sand + some static grass is enough. Or cork. Google "cork bases" and just look at pictures, it's really easy.
>>
>>55284174
Thank you thank you friend. You've made this chaos aspirant a happy camper.
>>
Is the Hammerstrike Force worth it to deliver your Paladins or are Dracoth riders better?
A unit of 2 puts out nearly the same damage as a unit of 5 respective Paladins (Retributors to Concussors and Protectors to Fulminators) and they're roughly the same in terms of resilience.
For slightly less in damage and resilience you get guys that are faster and you don't to pay the 420 point tax to deliver them.
>>
>>55282651
>but I'm not sure what would go nicely with that grey / white
That's a neutral colour if you didn't work it more warm or cold.
The gold is the colour you need to work with, and the colour that goes more nicely is purple.

If you have plans for a base, you need to take those colours into account too.
>>

Might be interesting for Verminus players, in the Spear of Shadows a new kind of uber skaven is introduced called; Death Vermin.

They're described as Big Ogre-sided (armored) Skaven with hooked weapons. Might be a hint of things to come...

If they introduce monstrous infantry and some sort of Totem unit that would be really swell.

>Moulder/Verminus Death Vermin
I would buy it
>>
>>55285047
>>55285047
Would be pretty cool. If they make it into a kit a la Kurnoth Hunters + a totem unit in the style of a bloodsecrator + a special character with a battletome it would be a solid release.

Not quite sure what Verminus' unique style would be to differentiate it from other 'soldier' armies.

>>55285022
In Spear of Shadows it's shown that while most faiths co-exist in the cities they don't necessarily like each other. You have Tyrion/Light worshippers who wear blindfolds, Nagash Death cultists, a cult that worships Sigmar like a Worm-Emperor, etc.

Don't bother Anon, you should learn how to use bases and shades firstly. Pic related is my first model ever - as you can see, you are not the worst painter here so don't worry and have fun with trying new tecniques and colours
>>
>>55277326
You say that but TK never sold, I mean really never sold. Afaik a couple of their molds never made their money back. Thats why they never updated the skeleton models to be in line with the VC plastics. Then when they decided they wanted to axe the old skeletons they just decided to axe the facttion rather than update it.

>>55277435
Putting a mold into production isnt a simple process, even if the mold already exists. Also packaging is a major expense. Most of the time when something is out of stock its because theyve run out of the standard packaging. Putting the boxes into production far in advance is dirt cheap but if you have to rush them the price jumps substantially. Itts more than just "dusting off the old molds". Hell Im not even sure what state the molds are in. Those things are mind bogglingly expensive and still wear down over time. Theyre also prone to damage if theyve been in storage for a long time.

>>
>>55285354

>>55285429
Fleshshade with Silver highlights is the tits. That Anon will probably suggest a brown shade which will only make the gold look dull. Silver highlights look great but need to be applied with care or it risks looking 'fake'
>>
>>55285605
Why do you people always assume when we tell you things we have detailed ledgers full of sales information that we can also magically share with the public and still keep our jobs afterwards?

Its office talk. Things I hear or we talk about I can share. And we do talk about these things a lot. Technically as long as I don't reveal any confidential information I can say whatever I want. Most people wont say this stuff even if you ask because they think its more proffessional to keep inner workings secret when they really dont have to. I dont care about that. You guys should know why something is taken out of production, it stops idiots whining about it when you know theres a good reason. Also stops morons demanding sometthing comes back when its not really possible.
>>
>>55285379
Why do you say that? It looks pretty good imo
>>
>>55285664
I feel bad marketing and rules was also a factor in TK not selling. You need to remember that was Kirby era and that guy fucked things up so bad it's amazing that GW survived
>>
>>55285197
I think what you need is a midtone to ease the highlight's transition.

Like do a 50/50 mix of gold and silver and put that where you put the silver now. And then use the silver for the finest edges, that'd make it look better.

But I must say this is looking great for a first mini!
>>
>>55285792

Tomorrow I'll try painting another liberator and create a transition highlight color then!
What do you guys think about the shield / cloth color? I'm not too satisfied, but I guess it's too late to change it now
>>
>>55285820
What colours do you have? I'd follow one anon's recommendation of doing purple at least for the cloth.

for the white, i'd recommend shading it with either beige or blue, like drakenhof nightshde in the recesses, to make it have some depth.
>>
>>55285664
I believe you anon. Do you know if Death will get anything new at least?
>>
>>55285789
Im sure theres a lot of factors that influenced it, but the common consensus among the front end is that rules don't actually influence sales as much as you think. If people like a model they tend to buy it regardless of how good it is. Those are the people that make up the bulk of the sales, people who are focussed on rules are a significant portion of the sales base, but they are not the majority.

Honestly I was never really sure why they didnt just wait a little longer to see how theyd sell in AoS, we saw a BIG jump in the sales of oldhammer models when AoS came out, contrary to what some people would have you believe.

Kirby was a cunt, but he only dictated policy, he wasnt actually involved in the decisions as far as actually what to cut from ranges. If he said one of the ranges had to be downsized then naturally someone else has to decide TK werent selling and that they should stop production. He was responsible for you nearly getting humped by GW staff when you walked into a store, front end sales targets were pushed to rediculous levels. There was so much staff turnover both due to people failing to meet quotas during probation and people disgusted at the way they had to deal with customers. I cant be sure about this but Im pretty sure kirby never actually said the "half as many models for twice the cost" rules, but it was someone pressured really hard to come up with a way of increasing profits. Dont know for certain though. His influence pushed people into some really tough spots.

Kev is a really cool guy, he actually likes the games. Good attitude, realises that the company has a community around it, rather than a customer base. Thats kind of his key characteristic. There is some rumblings about the discounts hes doing being almost too good, and theres a lot of missed profits in some places, so you might see some leaner deals in the future, but idk its just rumor. I always feel some of the higher ups dont cop that its okay to sell stuff at bargain basement prices if theyre old shit models nobody will buy anyway, like the seraphon SC box, one recent nice model and 20 shit ones nobody wants to pay for, but its a great deal so people buy it. People love deals, even if theyre buying stuff they dont want as long as its cheaper.

>>55286001
I don't know anything about how FW does things, Im not sure theres going to be any FW battletomes. Also dont underestimate GW or FW knowing what you guys want, theyre gamers too and probably want to do all the stuff you want them to do. Usually theres no funds or something already in the pipeline or no room in the production schedule for it. Remember the lead in time for an armybook is HUGE. So much art, so much writing, and people underestimate how long the actual design and formatting takes, then theres localisation, which takes about 3 months (about how long it takes for WD anyway).
>>
>>55285976

>>
>>55285976

What have you heard about 40k?
>>
>>55286240
It is. Fantasy was only taking in 5% of the income of GW. Less than the paints and glues. AoS when last reported was 35%.
>>
>>55286240
It is, but not as well as 40k. AoS did better than 8th ed pre-GHB, but thats not much of a suprise, 8th ed did fucking shit. Post-GHB it got another boost. Its doing pretty well but what theyre really happy with is the community engagement with it. People are way more involved in AoS than they were in WHFB.

>>55286337
Sorry bru, Im just sick of the whole "Show us exact sale numbers and exact sources or gtfo" bullshit, as if any rumormonger can be considered as a source. Thing is yeh most of this stuff is pretty logical happenings within a company, some people dont get that and think GW is some evil corp out to steal their children and boil their bones to make scenery.

>>55286356
Same things you have at this stage. Upcoming GK, Admech etc. I dont actually see the book in production, best we get is a look a couple weeks before release. If I hear about something upcoming model wise I really am not suppoosed to say, I could lose my job for breaching confidentiality. Most of what I hear is from office talk, Im not actually in the studio or have insights into design. Thats why I only comment on the business side of things.

I would take the healspell over the reaping, although it absolutely males sense on Drycha. In my experience sylvaneth are a synergistic defensive army. Plus keeping durthu alive will ruin your opponents day (he draws A LOT of firepower)

Treesong moves the woods right? Completely fucking worthless if that's the spell.im thinking of. If it's the summon woods spell then it is good

5+ and if you fail it's gone forever would be sweet but as it stands (especially with my dice rolling) I'd get it.once every 100 games
>>
>>55288402
Realmwalker adds 2 to the generals navigate realmroots, making it a 4+ to get a free move after teleporting to a wildwood, and moonstone is a one timw use get the fuck outta dodge teleport to anywhere on the battlefield more than 4" away from enemies.
Treesong is the one that moves the wopds, and i think if i went with a kurnoth with scythes it would be a decent shunt for them, since they move with it and it says nothing about not being able to charge afterwords. If it really is bad though, id switch that with regrowth for keeping duurthu healthy

I get you, I never subscribed to the evil corp thing. Some moves were dickish or misguided but the whole malicious conspiracy was always bullshit.

I don't have issues with rumormongers, but anything a reliable rumormonger says will be abused as gospel truth by people. And on on not anon forums it will turn into a cult of personality around the monger in question.
>>
>>55288606
Thats why I post here. I hate circlejerking on forums. Here you can tell someone theyre wrong and a fucking moron.

99% of rumors you see on forums are educated guesses. There are people here I know leak info to their friends, so likely rumormongers are all FLGS owners or are hearing their rumors second or third hand.
>>
>>55288513
Something that I completely glossed over with Treesong is that it automatically activates Roused by Magic on the Wyldwood.
Moving the trees is secondary to getting another slightly harder to cast Awakening the Woods. That spell can completely wreck armies if your Wyldwood placement is on point.

Is there some kind of faux pas I'm not aware of with "netlisting" - this hobby is expensive as fuck the last thing I need is to buy and paint a 2k list and find put its garbo.
>>
>>55289313
Yes. Unless you know your local group is extra-competitve bunch of cunts bringing a WAAC netlist to table is considered rude.
>>
>>55289280
But I mean greenskinz as a faction with a greenskinz keyword mate. See? They are so irrelevant you don't even remember they are a separate faction
>>
>>55288838
It was like with the Kharadron Overlords. Everyone went Steampunk Dwarfs are 100% confirmed. Yet the release turned out completely different than the 100% confirmed rumours (no golems, nothing was based on steam, etc)

Same with the Sea-Aelves (which might still be in the pipeline for all I know) that some people were already listing on a release schedule even though it turned out we had no source at all for the rumours.
>>
>>55289386
What kind of aesthetic would you say the KO have? I refuse to believe that these guys have the most advanced tech when it's just kinda the same tech level as Dwarfs only more flying ships
>>
>>55289386
The nautilus that led credence to Sea-Aelves rumors turned out to be Nurgle. So there is to support Sea-Aelves is a rumor-engine pic that looks like it could be a mast, and a tiny dragon on an arm, unless I'm forgetting anything.
>>
>>55267363
Thanks for adding to the pastebin anon!
>>
>>55289298
Nobodies complaining, thats not what I said. Its their job to investigate where income can be increased. Like their fulltime job. We're talking about 20% discounts being brought down to 15% and the like.
>>
>>55289437
They could well be coming, but we have no 'confirmation' only educated guesses. My point was however that educated guesses kinda get passed around like facts here.
>>55289435
The name for their aesthetic might turn into a semantics discussion. You could it Aetherpunk for all I care.
My point was however, that when we heard about 'steampunk dwarfs' I don't think anyone expected Age of Sail flying pirate/privateers dwarfs who use the power of Sky Gold.
>>
>>55289566
I agree with you for the rumor/educated guess part.
People say things here, other people mention those ideas elsewhere, and the misinformation spreads through a game of telephone as if it were fact, getting anons' hopes up only to crush them later.

>t. Waiting for Sea-Aelves w/ bated breath
>>
What fluff do you like about Age of Sigmar?

I like the deathrattle fluff, that wight kings are more then just automatons, with a will of their own.
>>
>>55289618
FEC fluff is so good. Probably my favorite.

Seraphon fluff is the lowpoint. I loved what they were. Seraphon are my jam, I just ignore the fuck out of the new fluff.
>>
>>55289597
My hope is an extended Privateers Faction with all kind of crazy sea gribblies. A fleet master riding a giant sea monster, Elves on aquatic monstrous infantry, etc...

About rumours, I remember when the first rumours for AoS started coming out that Warseer was already calling it Bubblrhammer since their rumours said that only pockets of the old world would survive that would clash as like small microcosms. While 'close' to what AoS turned out to be, they still missed the mark by about 100 miles. Didnt stop them from christening the rumour as fact though...

FEC lore of course. Also ironjawz painting their armours yellow because of SCE and Slann's home for imaginary friends are neat

I seriously think they can be pretty fucking competitive.
>>
>>55289658
That's exactly what I want, since I love Black Ark Corsairs and the Karybdis(sic) model, there's just not enough in the line right now for me to run them as a full army imo, w/o having to buy many of the same models.
>>
>>55288384
Look up forest goblins. There used to be units like you just described in the older warhammer. Always were my favourite, too.

Nah.

Though there was that one bit, about the whole Horde, and the Alliance, and the Prime Evils.
>>
>>55289691
Spider riders are still around. There hasn't been forest goblins on foot models in forever either. It's been a conversion army since as far back as I can remember.
>>
>>55289618

got a couple of things.

1) ironjawz and stomrcasts join forces and the stormcast become part of a waaaagh. Also in the book there are lots of funny interections between leaders of both sides.

2) ironjawz wearing khorne armor which tries to eat them just because it makes em look tougher

3) tree dwarves mentioned in latest book.

I think Dark Elves would be better off outside of the Order Grand Alliance.

With their re-invention into Shadowkin they could be remolded into any form.

I think their best place would be in either the Destruction Grand Alliance, or Death Grand Alliance.

For Destruction, they could be reinvented into sort of Avatars of pure hatred, envy, vengeance and scorn. Maybe "remembered into existence" like the Seraphon (but better not). they would be a nice balance to the rest of the slow, lumbering horde of retards like Orruks and Ogors. Malerion would be the astute, swift kind of destruction, striking like lightning. His hordes monstrous but graceful, unnaturally slender, fast, where the rest of Destruction is unnaturally large and violent.
They would be more "animal" and instinctive, with Malerion almost being a legendary beast, or feral being, perhaps the Orks have their Gorkamorka, and the Shadowkin have their huge black dragon Malerion, all bent on bringing as much ruin to the land. One for fun, one for hatred.

For Death they again could be the vengeful "Shadows" of the Dark Elves of the old world (again "remembered into existence"? It's shit but it fits the setting so well).
Neither dead or alive, Malerion struck some kind of deal with Nagash to have them walk the Realms again.
They wouldn't be floaty ghosts, nor vampires, nor zombies with exposed bones, but simply weird hybrids of shadow that barely have a soul. There could also be interesting dynamics, love-hate relationships with Vampires and Nagash. Maybe they despise the Undead because they have no emotion, while the Shadowkin keep their eternal indignation. Maybe they have to keep up the fight/the hate to remain at Malerion's service, and as soon as they fall asleep, let their guard down, Nagash claims them and they turn to dust.

Why all this? What would it achieve?
It would preserve better what Dark Elves felt like, than being with Sigmar.
They get to fight and hate High Elves, to be evil.
>>
>>55290460
I like the various Dark Elf factions as the 'Edgy' order factions. Now, I'd also like the other grand alliances to get stuff that break the mold a bit from their respective themes
>>
>>55290697
I honestly think Dark Elves are gonna shift to Chaos since that Fourth Chaos icon looks like Malekith
>>
>>55290734

Ehh you mean Malekith was also too weak to withstand the flames. There wouldn't have been a civil war if he had gotten Asuryen's blessing.
