How does this sound as a fluff for a snowflake OC chapter sound; just kicking around an idea really.

You know how the Minotaurs have their close asssociation with the High Lords, and there are other nominally independent Chapters that have ties to groups like the Ad Mech, Ecclesiarchy or Inquisition? I was thinking of a Chapter that has a working relationship with the Officio Assassinorum. Nothing as formal or overt as the Chapters mentioned above, but periodically the Chapter Master gets coded requests to perform military actions in certain sectors against certain targets; these actions happen to make it easier for an assassin to reach their target (by diverting defenses, causing distractions, drawing commanders into the open etc). In return, periodically the Chapter finds itself with "unrequested" auxiliary sniper assistance, or that the enemy backline has been torn to pieces by unknown assailants.

Basically I like Marines and Assassins, and while I know I don't NEED a reason to field them together, the concept appealed to me.

One of the biker squads, the two blastmasters will honestly do more for their points than 3 bikers. Any points left over should be able to afford an extra Noise Marine with a sonic blaster, after that if you have any left over points you can always sprinkle some heavy weapons into your cultists.

Well, "Critical" means "On", so that wouldn't be the most impressive job. Also, there's about seventy layers of safety cutoffs you'd have to circumvent before you could force a meltdown or Prompt Critical, so it may not be that simple.

"Blow it up with a bomb" does tend to turn it off, though. Can't imagine you'd need to do anything more than that.

If you breach the reactor chamber while its running with a bomb, at the very least you're going to irradiate the entire ship irreparably.

My point is that it's a lot of effort to keep the reactor from accidentally killing everyone, setting a bunch of superhumans against it with that goal should do the trick. Especially when the 40k reactor is the size of the Empire State Building and can rip holes in dimensions.

Just bought 2 of these, have some pretty awesome conversion ideas for my genestealer cult.

Was going to use them as Tauros Venators but now I realize theyre too big and well armored. They're also more narrow than goliaths/taurox (fitting 10 guys in either of them is bad enough, don't want to use something smaller even if only slightly).

So what do I use them as? Has to be IG or genestealer, has to be fast-ish, nothing super tough or with a transport capacity higher than 5 or so.

It's 1:48, but venator is tiny in every size comparison I can find. I might be surprised when I get the model, but I think it might be bigger and bulkier enough that it just won't look right. Although I'll probably remove the turret from at least one of them which might help (thinking cult armored ambulances or something)

Here is a good example of how a paint job can affect a model.

There's no question that the skill with which the painter on the left is far behind that of the eavy metal painter, but the eavy metal painter had tried to cram so much shit on Guilliman's face, it genuinely looks cartoonish and odd. Guilliman's face looks old, yet also young: he has dark crows feet and nasolabial creases, but his lips are painted with a glossy effect. It's fucking retarded to look at. The painter on the left does away with that shit and paints softer shades on the face, making it look much more natural.

Morty's model will look fine when a competent artist with true understanding of colour theory (instead of just googling "completementary colours for green; oh look purples and pinks! i'll go with those! this was easy.") and an "eye" gets a hold of it.
