This CYOA is a bit of an experiment for me, so for the first time I'm posting a WIP.

This is the first time I've done a multi-pager, the first time I've tried to put actual graphic design into it and the first time the emphasis is almost entirely on lore and world-building. Based loosely on some hallucinations I used to suffer from.

Here's page 1 as of right now, a slow start meant to set a tone but it gets far more mechanics-heavy as it goes on.

If it's not coming across clearly, the theme I'm going for is sort of a shamanistic fantasy with tribal mythology influences.

Right now I'm debating whether to incorporate a simple stat and rolling system for dealing with a series of encounters, and wondering how I would go about making the encounters dynamic enough to justify it.

The goal here is immersion and personal involvement, I want players to visualize as much as they can and do a little creative work for themselves.

Funny, it was only two threads ago that I was wondering when Beri would be back, and if he was okay.

Anyways, Optimistic, Myself, Save Her (easiest choice in the entire cyoa, honestly), and Revi/Record. Record will be useful for researching the problem, and maybe I've misunderstood what she's capable of, but she could touch Revi's crystal and help advance our understanding of Revi's powers, right? I mean, Revi's clearly only scratched the surface of her true potential. What if, with proper training and understanding of her power, she could make her reversals permanent? What if she could flip someone from sinner to saint, wicked to just? What if, instead of destroying the evil magic tainting Teresa's soul, we just...reversed it? Permanently? Sister would be happy, healthy, and whole again, and also stupidly overpowered with all that divine magic she'd be imbued with.
I mean, it's a bit of a long shot, and all it takes is Revi not being as strong as I thought to completely destroy my entire plan and make a grand fool out of me for putting all my eggs in one really stupid basket, but I've got to do something. She's my sister, I owe her everything. We'll find out if this lost cause is as lost as they say soon enough.

Oh, and I guess I'm going to try to convince the others to let me rule. I was originally going to go with what plenty of other anons have picked and choose Teresa, but I wasn't sure Eclan would be comfortable with an all-powerful God Empress, which is basically what I envision Teresa would become if Operation Lightswitch goes according to plan. That kind of power's better off defending the nation than ruling it, honestly.

It sucks looking for art of races. They're either too attractive and basically humans with colored eyes or longer ears, or they're monstrous and disgusting.

Then I'll tell you the three ways I found that will work

Soul+Revi- Stab big sis Teresa in the heart causing both souls to be expelled and then capture both and use revi to crazy diamond your sis's body and re implant her soul and destroy the evil spirit whatshisface. And if Revi repair the damage done to big sis swap Revi with Crea to make sis a new body

Use law to command that spirit that took over sis not try to take over anyone else and command him to leave

And the last one is a sure fire way to save sis and stop demon man for good. Have Revi and soul ready and then you mortally wound yourself and afterwards you stab big sis and force him out of the body and into yours and then have the soul witches kill you both which should be easier since you would be already weakened and as you drag him into the void.

That's three ways I've given you anon so save her, so at least try

Hmm... I don't think I've seen anyone really look into souls that much before. It would be much easier as a Reaper Witch yourself, but it's perfectly understandable that the required change would be more than you're willing to put up with. Having Suice is the next best thing. Getting a politically-involved sect of Reaper Witches is no easy task. They make a point of being independent, save for accepting a retainer position. It's not impossible, but it won't be easy. Using the Sealing Spear on Teresa is a really good idea. She won't become totally harmless, but she won't be much of a threat to any well-trained soldier at all. Also, you don't have to steal the research on crystal conduits. The head of that research is one of your sisters.

Not going to be complicated. Its like playing with miniatures on a drawn map and skill cards.

You choose a node to move to, use a gadget if applicable, like stealth to not initiate combat and see the enemies that the node has.

Then you choose gadgets, if you want to use them, like Boarding to disable an enemy weapon, or Short range dodge that will negate damage for a turn, choose weapons you want to attack and apply damage. Then use enemy reactive gadgets, their weapons in order from top to bottom and apply damage to your team.

Classes are 'take damage before others', 'negate a few heaviest attacks against itself', 'lots of guns', 'use two gadgets every turn, instead of one per turn.'

I'm trying to be discrete, so that no one can glean my true plans of replicating the abilities of Reaper Witches, using Crystals to harmonize with souls, and altering the fundamental aspect of souls. Since Record's ability is so amazingly powerful it means that simply stealing the research instead of leaving a potential 'paper trail' is a better plan.

As for the Reaper Witches, I'm hoping a combination of Suice, my intense interest/knowledge and theology, my combat ability, and my manipulation would be enough to get a 'foot in the door' type of deal, which I can slowly expand into my dedicated reaper witch squad. It's not like there isn't historical precedence for apolitical groups having sects of themselves somewhat splinter and go political. It would certainly be easier to do it from the inside, but I'm attached to my little man and the idea of managing to become part of their politics as a man is interesting.

I'm not really sure what my end game is in this situation, but research for its own sake is worth it. Maybe I can find a way to use souls as fuel for stronger enchantments. Or maybe I can replicate the Reaper Witch abilities and improve on them, use Chronicle to enhance people's souls, or just improve our research into conduits.

Soooo... Yeah.
I guess I'll be working to bridge the gap between worlds.
If we can set up mostly stable gates between Eclan and Earth's moon. I intend the space to be a political buffer between Earth's governments and ours while we teleport down to them, as well as an incentive for space travel funding once we establish trade. Once those lazy bastards get off the ground, we'll be the only trade route between these planets.
The new silk road, or even just the promise of one, would be a great bargaining chip to leverage enough political power to stop this war.
Also, general forbidden degeneracy. Nothing too bad, so the useful and eccentric non firstborn could get away with it.
They could also cut me some slack do to the whole, "got ganked hard enough to reincarnate in another world and time, yanked back, and now has to deal with two lifetime's worth of memories," thing.

Anyhoo, I plan on setting up Eclan Royal R&D with Elizabeth's help. It will take a while to contact Earth, and I do have to help out in the mean time.
Together with my trusty crew, I plan on pushing the boundaries of technomagical understanding, and advancing Eclan's interests and prosperity on multiple fronts. Who knows? Their may be even more parallel worlds out to explore.
I'll see if I can't get in Pouf's pants while I'm at it. She seems nice.

Or at least that was the plan.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sad. The king was more than just my sort of dad. The man was like a father to me.
But having worked with Eclan R&D, I know that we now have a chance to end an evil that has plagued our world for too long.
Or maybe just started plaguing it recently, I don't know where this thing came from. Yet. Anyways, the point is that it's a plague, and I think we can cure it.
The king gave his life to help Teresa, and I won't let that death be in vain.

I'll admit that I'm somewhat biased here, but I think that she would be the best decision maker for Eclan. Publicity can be spun, and politics danced around with diplomats, but our country needs to grow far stronger, and Elizabeth is someone who can make that happen.
That, and unlike me, she at least doesn't stutter and mumble during public speeches.

Remember that their scythes function as Soul Boxes. This definitely wouldn't work if you needed to end up destroying the soul, but just for defeating Teresa, it could work.

If there isn't an obvious best choice, I usually try to look for things that the utility stack with each other. Multiple bedrooms and Whimsy was one.
For Katelyn, I don't dislike her... I just don't like her. I considered eventually try to murder her to make me free to another political marriage (especially with one of the Enela sisters or Vivian Paladia, both because I find them more attractive and because it could help avoid one or two future wars >>55034597 ), but I didn't decided this for now because I took pity on Katelyn. I hope she could be happy, I just don't think she would make me happy (and I don't know if I would be able to make her happy, especially with our past as war enemies and that the army of my family murdered her family.)

Step one; Know thy enemy, know thy self, and you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles. Record is an absolutely amazing force multiplier. We need to know what Revi can do, and how far she can push things. She seems pretty conceptual, so this will take both research and experimentation.
In addition, Record will help me trace this affliction back to where it came from. I want to know everything about it. Who, what, where, when, why, and how. All of the how. When I get a good grasp on what makes this thing tick, I will ask Revi to "Flip" little parts of it. I doubt I can start by switching, "Is currently possessing Teresa," to, "Is not currently possessing Teresa."
No I'll probably need to take it apart more slowly. If I have to get Revi to switch it apart, bit by bit, until it's a pathetic, weak willed, corporeal mass of fear and self loathing to get it out of Teresa, I will. Hell, maybe it will turn out that the best solution is to use concept switching to physically enter Teresa's soul and punch a ghost.
I don't know enough about this thing to come up with a rock solid plan yet, but I have the means to learn, and the leverage to turn that knowledge into action.

Gelbooru, Pixiv, and Danbooru is what I use.

(World Building Purposes) Unless you are making something inspired from something else. Throw out the basic ideas of the world you want to make for a CYOA and take the things you liked and the things you don't like and toss them out.

Then base the basic world ideas you have around characters and their actions that effected the world and their personality. (I usually do this after finding an image for important figures in the cyoa lore.) Then make your factions and what not from that.

(Mechanic Wise) Finally base all the choices for powers, items, and events around what is possible lore wise and what the reader should be able to do to give them advantage.

This is all I got and why I love companions who do something, even the little things in cyoas. Though I'm going to cut back on making cyoas with large amount of companions for awhile in my future CYOA (I.E: Nothing over 100 unless its waifu cyoa.)
