She got dressed and left before he awoke. We'll see what happens next. We secured aid in our mission to kill a god. He's an aspect of a broken god. We killed one of them, and these 2 were buddies, with our current target, Surya, piggybacking on the stronger of the 2, Hijod. He's sealed for now, and a third aspect, The Watcher, is coming to attempt to devour Surya for more power. If any of them gain enough power to manifest, we're screwed.

Here's hoping we can take out Surya, awaken our protagonist powers, kill Kab, the god causing a plague, and finally bag The Watcher. It'll be a long haul.

There are lots of difficulties because heights can vary so much in the galaxy. Humans have it among the roughest, since they're one of a few small races in the galaxy, standing the equivalent of 6 inches to the 'average' Alien.

Do spellbooks have a page limit? Two players in a game I'm in were arguing about this earlier. One claimed that a spellbook can have no more than 100 pages (so, spells), while the other insisted there is no such rule.

Default spellbooks, as detailed in the equipment lists, have 100 pages. You can pay for a bigger spellbook, but it's going to be heavier. I'd suggest just buying a new spellbook whenever you need one.

And also paying for a small spellbook of about 20-50 pages that you can hide in the lining of your clothes.

It's a permanant brain chemistry issue, similar but not nearly as severe as bipolar disorders. Too much seratonin in the brain. I usually end up doing that regardless. I kinda tear into my characters when I start to go dark. 1 killed people that he regrets, and carries that weight with him. 1 lost her only boyfriend to betrayal. 1 was abused as a child, and was unhealthily dependent on another person. 1 was a biological weapon, and wanted to know what it truly meant to be human. Another had to abandon everything, and drinks to forget. All of them were damaged.

I really like the masked grappler vigilante and I've been searching for a way to do a real luchador in this game for a while, but if i'm reading this right it doesn't look like they actually get any bonuses to grappling.

I ran the first half of We Be Goblins! with a party of one veteran, one rusty veteran, one person who's played three games before, and two people for whom it was their first game. Started by rolling characters (nobody wanted to use the pregens), which took about half the time we had. I'm pretty sure everyone had fun, so I can't be the worst GM.
I want to take them through Carrion Crown sooner or later, but we have a sixth player rotating out of the air force and one of the other guys is moving back from California this week so I'm doing smaller modules until everyone is available.
Not everyone can make it back this Sunday, so instead of finishing WBG! I wanted to do a small horror/investigation thing (Murder's Mark seems good?) where I give them a small group of characters I'm putting together over the week. So far I think it's a party of four, so I'm building a pool of eight characters so everyone has fairly diverse choice. I don't want a heavily combat focused group, since I and they need practice with investigation and role play. What would you suggest for character options? General tips? Is that module a good choice? Is carrion crown manageable with such a large party? I've noted that trust points are broken without adding the murmuring fountain or tweaking the system, so I grabbed the third party extension.

Inquisitor would probably be Infiltrator archetype, with Torture, Illumination, or Heresy inquisition.
Rogue would be Investigator or Spy.

I cannot be the only one who thinks that combat maneuvers going against KAC + 8 (or effectively KAC + 4 with a feat) is unreasonable, can I be?

How are combat maneuvers in Starfinder ever supposed to be appealing with such a heavy buy-in cost to them? Even with an improved combat maneuver feat, KAC + 4 still makes it more ideal to perform a regular attack for direct damage.

It does not help that tripping people is less powerful in Starfinder, since standing from prone does not provoke an attack of opportunity, and since ranged weapons are more accessible.

The lowbie area is a weird term though. Yes, the guards were all level 1 and 2, while the party is level 7, but that's the whole point. They were no threat. The actual threat is the CR 9 witch fire below the ruins. The fact that the guards were so weak was one of the myriads of ways I thought of to make it possible to not kill all the enchanted peasants.

I can answer that.
Before this quest started, I had a conversation about the players on how to handle descriptions of what they see. We agreed on a 3 level system.
1. level: What you see, without context. No questions needed.
2. level: What you see, with context. Needs to be a question.
3. level: Knowledge or other skill checks

Let's talk about the 2. level: This would be something like "Since we're looking for a dude in a yellow raincoat, does anyone on this street wear or carry one?". Now why does that need to be a question? Because not every yellow raincoat dude in a rainy city is the evil murderer. If I tell them "you see a street with people AND ONE WEARS A YELLOW RAINCOAT" they have every right to be annoyed when that is not the murderer. Makes sense?

They didn't ask, if they could be peasants, though I even told them before they could be. They didn't ask how well armed they were. I told them what weapons and armor they have, but not how high quality or magic the gear looks.

They also used Sense Motive, but the highest roll was 14.

I'm confused about the feat Performing Combatant.

Outside of actual performance combat for crowds and such, do you receive any mechanical benefits for having points in Perform (act/comedy/dance) when making the appropriate checks?

I've always been favorable to the "justice is hard and ultimately my job is to keep myself alive. If I can give out mercy I will (eg I am aware that I completely outclass my opponents) but if I can't, I will ask you to surrender, if you don't I will kill you".

A sort of Rooster Cogburn paladin. The reason I'm asking is because both of the Cavalier orders Cockatrice and Claymore get Performance added as a class skill and more or less features that interact with Intimidate, which would suggest that the creators are pointing out Performing Combatant as a potential path to take for the character.

Furthermore, in a comment to a specific Cockatrice-ability, a handbook I read mentioned that "All this wonderfulness at level 2 plus counting perform as a class skill opens the doors wide open for a potential performance combat build that’s worth considering." But it seems to me that Perform isn't actually relevant if you're not frequently moonlighting as a gladiator, although I guess that wouldn't be OOC for a Cockatrice/Claymore cavalier.

So just spitballing an idea here; have the player temporarily lose access to their class features I know paladins falling sucks hardcore, but they really did this to themself, have their artifact sword refuse to even be held by them anymore. They can have it on their person, but they cannot use it as a weapon (it burns their hands or otherwise isn't pleasant to them - like say becoming maximum encumbrance). Have it spell out in some manner, that it demands an atonement... and the means of getting it is going to see some powerful LG outsider creature.

If you're using mythic paths, going to meet the outsider and accepting an atonement in exchange for the geas could spark the first mythic rank.

See, these ideas are great. Besides the fact that we're not going to go mythic, I still have problems that you couldn't know about. See, this Paladin rite of passage that he wanted was already his last straw in some ways. Over the course of this adventure, his sole strategy of problem solving was "if it moves I hit it with my epic sword while laughing slowly". Seriously, he thinks about what to do when it's his turn for a good minute and then always decides to hit it with his sword. He makes a big deal out of rolling damage dice with a stupit dice cup then reads the damage and laughs slowly, pleased with himself for doing a lot of damage.

He already killed unarmed asylum wardens before, because they tried to run past him and he used his AoO.

He never tried taking prisoners and making enemies surrender even once. Granted, most of the adventure path was against cultists, goblins and ghuls so far, but still.

At one point he encouraged torturing a prisoner in the towns prison for information. He also got blind drunk in a tavern and out of character wanted the other players to "undress and fondle him".

This was supposed to be him finally becoming a Paladin. His last chance. I told him to reread the core rule book paladin page and the iomedae wiki and linked both.

I might just be done with it. He can buy and craft his gear like anyone else. "Chosen one" artifact priviledges have run out as far as I am concerned.

It has been pointed out to me that the Priest theme in Starfinder has a 6th-level feature that makes "typical lay followers of your religion have a starting attitude of helpful toward you" and has them "often provide you with simple assistance on request due to some combination of adoration, respect, or fear (depending on your religion), and even other clergy must give your opinions due consideration in matters of disagreement." It even grants +2 Diplomacy and Intimidate against such people.

Now, as per page 473, "AbadarCorp is hands down the largest, wealthiest, and most influential corporation in the Pact Worlds—in no small part because it's also the church of Abadar."

With this in mind, would it not be massively beneficial to be a priest of Abadar by 6th-level, so that you can automatically set most AbadarCorp members helpful towards you?

In thoughts, I was wondering, my DnD/PF chat network has this GM who would frequently ask about what is wrong with his GMing and games(he's actually a bad GM and has really bad ideas when it comes to GMing an adventure) and when people tell him, he would only sheepishly either deny it or admit defeat but do nothing with it. When I tell him honestly, he would snap angrily at me(which honestly makes me angry but I also stopped caring by now)

There is zero point to dealing with such a GM who refuses to change nor listen, is there?

Stjarnagardr GM here.

We actually managed to play a session, thankfully. Three out of four players managed to show up (one had work) so we did an RP session in the city.

Our Cartomancer Witch managed to find someone with another card from the Deck of Many Things, and once the group comes back from some bandit-killing, he plans to purchase the card from her.

Our Skald did some flirting with a fat-bottomed, red-haired bar-wench and will likely go to bed with her at night.

Our Ratfolk UC!Monk did some minor chatting with the NPC Hobgoblin Orc-Bloodline Sorcerer, but mostly kinda stayed quiet and let the others have their RP moments.

In any case, I'm looking forward to next session, so that the group can actually get moving and track down those bandits that have been attacking people on the roads.
