Children of the Horned Rat says that Skaven settlements have around twice the population of a human equivalent but what about Dwarf, Elf, Orc and Goblin settlements? I'm asking in terms of how their are modifiers for settlement population in WHFRP 2nd Edition that affect how easy it is to find equipment for purchase. It wouldn't make sense for Elves and Dwarfs to have less availability towards rare equipment than humans and Skaven so presumably, the double thing is also used with that chart so that the populations start at 200 and multiply by 10 for each level that equipment becomes more common in Skaven settlement unlike with humans where it starts at 100.

One thing has always bothered me about Fantasy in general.

The humble sling should be a fairly common weapon, for militia purposes or otherwise. Despite this, Skaven are the only army that uses them in the game proper from 7th onward, and the only other option in 6th were Gnoblar Flingers, from a White Dwarf army.

What gives? You think Bretonnia or the Empire would find use for slingers or sling-staves, or that the Lizardmen would have Skinks with Atlatls...

Also, how come foot Marauders don't get access to throwing axes, or any other cavalry get options for javelins?
>>
>>54804029
>The humble sling should be a fairly common weapon
But.. it is. In WFRP.
>You think Bretonnia or the Empire would find use for slingers or sling-staves
Not really? You didn't find sling units in 13th century English/French armies or 17th century German armies.
>>
>>54804029
The Church of Sigmar banned slings in the Empire after getting BTFO by Sisters in Mordheim.
>>
>>54804029
I think Ungor Raiders could also replace their Short Bows with Slings. However, Slings would be out of place in Bretonnian or Empire armies. The only exception to this would be if Bretonnian ever gets Peasant mobs as a unit.
>>
>>54804141
If Empire got more Halfling back in THEN that's the only circumstances they would have slingers, the Halfling Fieldwardens are known for their talent with the sling and using it to pick off undead abominations cross the border into the Moot from vampire central.

>>
>>54804077
Pic related is from the 5th Crusade; the chronicler for this passed in 1259. To a lesser degree, the staff sling could be used for launching alternative munitions which admittedly might make it better as an Arabyan Weapon. Staff Slingers could take on a "Sternguard" role, launching naft pots, scorpions, or stones. Or holy water flasks, flash powder, etc.

Any ideas on how to turn the raggedy glade guard into slaves?
They're small and thin enough to not look too out place with the historicals that are the bulk of the army and they are gonna need their heads as well since they're humans, but the fixed arms are a problem.
Drilling a hole in their hands and attaching pikes sound good or should I try and have them be more like free company militia?

Inspired by last thread's Araby discussion?

One option could be to take several strips of sprue, and "carve down" the hands/arms for them. That said, I have this kit, and it's about half and half fixed-arm torsos, and "mix and match" torsos anyway, right? I think you have some leeway to convert them, or use greenstuff to cover up where their capes should be.

Quick rundown on the chaos dwarfs

>High Elves Bow to Chaos Dwarfs
>In contact with Old Ones
>Rumored to possess warp like abilities
>Control the dark lands with an iron fist
>Own ziggurats and dark factories all over the world
>Direct descendants of the ancient Hashut bloodline
>Will bankroll the first cities on Morrslieb (Hashutdangrad will be the first city)
>In the process of terraforming Mannslieb as their personal moon city
>Own basically every Orc DNA editing research facility in the Old World
>First designer babies will be Bull-Centaur babies
>Every dwarf is said to have 400+ IQ
>Ancient Nehekarhan scriptures tell of a race of demi-gods who will descend upon the Old World and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them
>These are the Chaos Dwarfs
>They have Zharrbot R&D labs around the world
>You likely have Zharrbots inside you right now
>Every child has the mark of Hashut implanted in them at birth
>The Chaos Dwarfs are in regular communication with the Chaos god Hashut, forwarding the word of the Bull god to the Zharr-Naggrund temples
>Discovered the Sword of Khaine
>They learned fluent Brettonian in under a week
>Caledor Dragontamer allows them full access to Ulthuan
>Dwarf clans entrust their Gromril reserves with the Chaos Dwarfs. There is no gromril in Karak-a-Karak, only Zharr-Naggrund
>The race is 67000 years old, from the space time reference point of the base elf
>In reality, they are timeless beings existing at all points of time, from the arrival of the old ones to the end times
>They have been able to access the chaos record since birth, and have spoken about what they saw while they were newborns
>The chaos dwarfs will guide the old world into a new age of chaos, technology and Hobgoblins

Or maybe she'd be willing to let you pose as Frederic Desfleuve for a year, while she acted as your wife. If she got pregnant, it'd be impossible to hide it after a few months, let alone fight, so it wouldn't be feasible to be a knight during that time. She has a baby, and if it's a girl (unless she wants to go through the whole problem for another generation) you two can try again. If it's a boy, she praises the Lady, gives you a kiss, and probably sets off on a Grail Quest while naming you steward of her son and her lands. And then you dump it on another steward because you don't let shit tie you down, you were in it for the nightly knightly pussy.

but vis >>54808100, RAW, you only need the career's equipment to ENTER the career. Still, many DMs are equipment-flexible, or contrive to arrange that some impractically expensive items become available. Others prefer to avoid this and take the 'let fate decide' approach, which tends to get you much odder PC career paths and more ruthless PCs who may be willing to do things like rob the dead or murder travelers on the road, depending on the player.
>>
>>54807765
Yes but it's damn hard. The thing about beastmen is that serving Chaos is as fundamental as breathing for them. They don't need any divine gifts as incentive, they'll serve anyway. Therefore to stand out amongst beastmen & get branded & shit you need some extreme devotion. To be a Doombull is hard enough, to reach Daemonhood? Damn.
>>
>>54808204
So is it possible to accidentally enter a career, or to backslide from a professional soldier to a coal burner?
>>

>>
>>54808304

>>
>>54808304
The only listed career that you can accidentally enter is Slave. Anything else is GM discretion.
>>
>>54808304
Slave is the only career, RAW, you can be forced to enter. You can always enter any previous career's exits, and can 'laterally' enter a basic career at any time by paying 200 XP to exit from your current one (finished or not). So yes, RAW, it's possible. Though most DMs will expect some sort of justification in roleplay for career changes.
>>
>>54808290
Some of the RPG fluff suggests otherwise, at least for the ones that look mostly human and have no horns.
After being driven out of their villages for such obvious mutations they turn to beastmen (who are seemingly always nearby), who don't exactly accept them as equals but at least don't try to kill them on sight.
After that it's an easy jump to make; you spend you life getting rejected and then one group at least halfway accepts you AND gives you the opportunity to deal some payback to everyone who rejected you? That's a situation that people who AREN'T half goat-person do in real life.

The Gors who are born in beastmen tribes are likely Chaos worshippers from the time they're old enough to worship though simply because they know no other life to lead and because the potency of the Ruinous Powers is extremely obvious to them.

I wonder why some areas have such concentrations - especially in the lower part of the Southlands - and why some areas have little to no Beastmen activity at all, like in Lustria. I get it's a death jungle, but you'd think they could spread there, and GW seems to enjoy allowing other factions the chance to face lizzards.
>>
>>54808728
The Southlands is lawless while Lustria is not only a death jungle it has the temple cities that need guarding. The Slann won't suffer Chaos in their lands. They only allow humans to live on the coast if they don't mess with their shit. It's the same with Ulthuan, they won't give an inch of forest for the Beastmen to multiply.

So the Norsca DLC added alot of new lore, i'll guess i'll sum up what i've found so far.

>Frost Wyrms: So apparently the Frost Wyrms are NOT regular Chaos Dragons. Their commonly thought to be, by scholars, the mutated remnant of a long dead entirely unique ice dragon species. They make underground lairs among the frost, and sleep for centuries, before going on a gluttonous feeding frenzy. Nearly extinct.
>Fmir: Fmir mostly use the Storm of Magic retcons, and lore, but there's a few additions, mainly, indeed, the Fimir are willing to make pacts and alliances with the Norscans as client warriors (for they share common cause), but relations are very heated, as their still very envious of how much favor the Norscans receive. They speak in the black tongue in-game. (It's really, really badass, as they still have hints of Nordic accents while they speak)
>Marauder Champions: They are NOT aspiring Chaos Warriors like people thought they we're going too be. Their just Marauders who wandered to the Chaos Wastes, and successfully competed challenges from the dark gods, and have received much favor. They have no mutations, their just highly skilled, long-lived champions. So I guess their a different path to Chaos Warriors (Huscarls if you will). Hopefully they appear as an elite career path in the new RPG.
>Everchosen: Archaeon's apparent destiny of the one true everchosen was a massive, pathetic lie. Wulfarik and Throgg can claim the title, and the game mentions, after destroying Archaeon, the gods themselves have now bestowed the power and title to their new champions. Belakor was made of shit.

I'll add more when I find more.

It's not like they all start at the poles and head for the center. That's probably how some started out and moved to where they are today, but others probably just sprouted up there as part of mutation and Chaos taint, or were artificially moved in rare cases like slave-taking.

The only guarantee, if any, is that they tend to live in forests, but they also live in mountains and plenty of other areas, mostly being nomadic.

The map also combines fanon with assumptions, taking that page in your pic for example of there being mysterious ape-man sightings in the Southlands and turning it into gigantic roving hordes of Beastmen living there.

Neither Beastmen nor Chaos have strong influence or even a presence in every single part of the world. I recall (and may be wrong) that traders or travelers from Nipon and Cathay have no idea what the forces of Chaos even really are.

Well, the lore page is an in-universe perspective and leaves things up to doubt with most of what it says - which is fair, some people may enjoy goat Beastmen more than trying to kitbash lizards for their warherd in Naggaroth. But I think we have to assume the map is accurate, since I think it's an out-of-universe perspective - I don't see how anyone in-universe could get that knowledge. Even if there's still wiggle-room to have some herds not in places or in places they aren't marked, it's still clear where the big clusters of them are.

This bothers me because there are already other dragon-like creatures present in the game, like wyverns, merwyrms, and sea dragons. They're distant kin to dragons, but they don't need to be 'entirely unique' to still be very different from dragons.

Other stuff seems pretty cool, though I still don't get how Fimir survive that far north. They live in marshes and bogs, they look pretty amphibious or lizardlike to me - I don't think they're made for frozen north temperatures.

The real problem (as has been discussed before) is that there's no actual canon anymore. With GW initiating the End Times and closing out the saga of WHFB there's no governing body, and GW's opinion on canon is always Black Library and Armybooks, with the most recent publication trumping anything older than it, because to warhammer (40k and FB) the canon is the least important part of the hobby. What's important are stories specifically newer stories which get people interested or excited into buying more models. Oh gee this dwarf novel is super cool time to build a 3000 point dwarf army.

As has been pointed out before the TW "canon" is largely guessing at a lot of pre-established grey areas, it's hardly official by any stretch of the imagination, but because of the end times it doesn't matter, only you will care about your headcanon because canonically the world that was is just that. The world that was. Not is.

Zhufbar and Karak Hadrin always get their shit pushed in by Von Carstein and call to me for help, and Barak Var and Karak Azul always get their shit slapped by the Orks. Meanwhile Waagh and Beastmen hoards are spawning constantly, everything is expensive, and Grimgor likes to roll up on me with 3 doomstacks full of elite units and RR's while i'm still rocking Warriors and Quarrelers w/ Grudge Throwers. Why is Age of Sigmar so popular? The artistic vision looks pretty shitty to me aside from a few units. The blending of 40k and upping fantasy elements to the limit just looks works.

Plus, the setting seems boring. Gods vs. Gods. Not really something I enjoy.
>>
>>54812177

It totally eludes me. I would like to think it's failling, but thieir discussion has lasted up until now so I can only assume that it actually is capable of holding a growing fanbase.

Seeing the aesthetics, I'd either be offended and go back to Fantasy or realize that 40K does a better job and go there. AoS seems to hit a sweetspot between the two that I cannot perceive.
>>
>>54812177
As someone who likes/doesn't mind AoS:

Really high fantasy, which is somewhat unique. Usually "high fantasy" means wizards and knights and shit. In this case it's construct angels using magical crossbows to blast lightning bolts at each other. That at least is unique.

It was new, injected life into the franchise

Downside: All the nuance and charm of the old setting was obliterated to make something much simpler, pretty much just WH40k but not.
>>
>>54812159
Just focus on the Badlands. Don't worry about Zhufbar and Kadrin unless they fall completely, so don't enter any defensive alliances with them until you secure the Badlands.

What I did was just march down the World's Edge mountains to the bottom, then slowly worked my way East. Also help out Barak Varr since they'll help take orc pressure of ya.
>>
>>54812225

I recommend at the beginning within the first 5 turns, get defensive alliances with Zhufbar and Barrak Var, and war coordinate them reclaim the orc-controlled lands near them as soon as possible.

Best case scenario is that Barrak Var and Zhufbar get total control of the lands near them, you can trade with Zhufbar, and they start doomstacking anyone near them. At the least, you want Barrak Var to claim Barag Dawazbag, so orcs near there don't deter you, and you wanna get yourself on a road to good relations with Zhufbar so you can military alliance them to get in contact with Karak Hadrin, and start war coordinating them to deal with their threats.

By turn 6-8, you wanna have a second lord and build a stack of at least 10 units, and at least 2 quarrellers, and both of you move onto the Greenskin capital, Black gate or whatever.

Also, in combat, try to set up on hills or inclines to tire out and weaken an enemy's charge, and have your quarrelers focus fire on high-threat, non-armored units, followed by goblins (again from biggest threat to lowest). Keep your army's position rather boxed in, formations 3+ lines deep, and don't have all your melee infantry engaged at once. Have front lines get caught in the donnybrooks, and then shift-right click drag paths for your "inner" infantry to flank around the enemy. And with your Grudgethrower, have it hit heavily armored, big-threat troops or wherever multiple groups of enemies are clumped up, and have it focus on Broken units to keep them Broken or Shatter them.

Khazukan Kazakit-ha!

Fast forward a century. Now you have the New World

More tidbits I found

>Ice Trolls: A sub species of regular Chaos Trolls that come from far beyond Troll Country in Kislev, originating from the dark north. Really stupid, even by troll standards, but are still considered useful shock troops for the Norscans. Instead of throwing up acidic bile, the up chuck iceshards from their insides, as they prefer their dinner frozen and chilly.

>Skin Wolves: Same as Storm of Magic, but with some additional lore tidbits. There affliction can also be caused by a witches curse, not just Chaos corruption. Once unleashed, the beast inside, completely consumes the person they used to be, physically, and mentally, and they can never take human form again.

>Berserkers: Not much, but they consume vast quantities of alcohol before battle to reach their inner rage state.

>New Dwarf Lore: Northern Dwarfs engage in brutal, genocidal hunts that have wiped out countless herds of ancient mammoths, just for the heck of it, and too boast. Dawi are evil.

>Cathy Slaves: Female Cathy Slaves are heavily valued by the Norscans, and the implication is their given out to be rape and used by the warriors that prove themselves in battle.

You realize in Warhammer, Mammoths are universally corrupted by Chaos right? As in they're all malevolent and evil chaos beasts?

Presumably by trading with Kurgans. They could get Cathay slaves themselves but that would involve having to sail around multiple continents which would explain the rarity, they are exotic. It would probably also include Nippon women in the level of value.

'Chaos War Mammoths are a tainted and savage race of Mammoths that have been transformed by the raw and mutating powers of Chaos into beasts of destruction. These massive creatures, whose footfalls shake the earth like thunder, are capable through sheer bulk and roused fury of demolishing buildings, trampling forests flat and crushing anything smaller than themselves into an unrecognisable, bloody smear. Although not actually evil as such, they are entirely belligerent and uncaring beasts that cut a swathe of destruction wherever they go, a factor magnified a thousand-fold by the fact that when they have young they travel in communal family herds, are fiercely territorial and respond to any other creature that manages to gather their notice by smashing it into the ground, or if it is a large enough monster in its own right, impaling it with huge tusks the size of mighty tree trunks."

Honestly if any game were to do it, it would be Total Warhammer. Chaos Spawn, Giants, Harpies, and Manticores are already shared between a few different factions (Dark Elves will probably get Manticores when they're in), and it'd be child's play to allow WoC to recruit some Beastmen or Chaos Dwarves.

I'd be sketchy about throwing Skaven into that though. They don't seem to play well with other Chaos types, since they don't serve the Big Four.

I think there's enough lore discussion to keep WFB here, and I don't think there's enough discussion in the game alone to keep it on /vg/, especially when there's already a Total War general thread there. The main reason there's so much game discussion now is because of the new update, but that will fade as time passes, or just get more regulated to /twg/, since lore discussion is generally more popular here than modding or game stats.

I don't think there's enough discussion to keep a WHRP-only general going, especially since the newest edition is still maybe years in the future. And there's also still aspects of the wargame to talk about - the occasional painted model and a couple of battle reports, as well as other rules-related questions for people who still play. That and the lore keeps the general alive and kicking, even if the added game discussion makes it fast.

are you guys dumbasses or what? I already explained this in older post from another thread.

Be'lakor will simply reset the timeline like every single time Archaon died or usurped because Be'lakor wrote that ARCHAON is the guy destined to end the world. Not Wulfrik, not Throgg, not anyone.

It's the sheer, literal plot armour that's the problem, it doesn't feel like Archeon achieved anything because death to him is pretty much meaningless, even Abaddon, for all his failures, ahieved what he has on his own.
Also
>Caring father
>Be'lakor
Pick one
>>
>>54815221
I pick two. When Be'lakor bisected Archaon during their first battle, Be'lakor down on Archaon's dying form with what's been said to be a "father's regret".

And Archaon bloody achieved everything he set out to do. Be'lakor simply deleted all his failures and death from the timeline. This makes Archaon the most successful Chaos warlord on all of warhams setting since there is no point in the main timeline did he fail. His failures being erased, doesn't erase the effort he did. Be'lakor did not hold his hand during of this. He just simply picked him up whenever he fell down and pushed him forward again towards his destiny like every father should.
>>
>>54815262
>every father should cover your ass for every failure you do

you don't really understand parenthood
>>
>>54815262
The fact that the timelane was erased Morr knows how many times means that Archeon couldn't do it all all by himself, he needs daddy Be'lakor to erase them.
Also erasing and ignoring failures(maybe other than deadly ones) is bad parenthood, child must learn from them
>>
>>54815304
Actually, IIRC, he is aware of some of the resets. When he attempted to suicide himself. He found himself back alive again and he screamed in despair.

Question for the Archy and Bel fanclub; if Bel can reset timelines and Archy goes about destroying universes, do they encounter alternate Warhammer universes on their way? Will Archy and Bel have to throw down against another version of themselves?

Or is the Belly retcannon ability just enough to ahift him into a different timeline and not a hard reset?
>>
>>54815333
It was a stupid retcon story to try and salvage SOMETHING out of Archaeon, don't try to find logic in it and don't pretend there ever was. The whole 'plot' was just a means to an end of forcing the end times so they could reboot into Age of Sigmar, absolutely no thought was put into the implications.
>>
>>54815333
From what I read there are no such thing as parallel universe that similar to one and another. Each universe is unique. That's why daemons are one and the same in the 40K and fanrasy universe. There aren't an infinte number if Be'lakors. Only one.
>>
>>54815355
>>54815348

That's my biggest hassle. Why does Belly have power that is blatantly greater than even the Chaos Gods?

The lack of mention of parallel universes is why I feel it's the most sane answer. Belly thinks he's this genius schemer, but Tzeentch has just booted him off to be a different Tzeentch's problem.
>>
>>54815424
>Why does Belly have power that is blatantly greater than even the Chaos Gods?

>>54815750

I tried putting some concept work into a Tilean faction. What I figure is that Tilea should have some core cheap units that are militia, so they are mediocre and suffer from poor morale, but get a leadership bonus when garrisoned. Then, the majority of their units should actually be mercenaries, who cost a dickload of money and upkeep but have a low recruitment/training time. To compensate, they only have one recruitment building (each tier letting them recruit more and more exotic units from more far off locales), and a bunch of economic buildings and a tech tree focused around making mercenaries cheaper or ameliorating cost somehow. They should also be expert looters, getting bonus gold for looting/sacking settlements, possibly even a scavenger agent who can loot ruins.

Horde faction that only appears when hired by another faction (yourself included). They can operate independently, be ordered about like how you can coordinate with allies and vassals, or 'confederated' so they can serve directly in your force. However, they will always eventually disappear and need time to be rehired, sort of like the Green Knight. They suffer attrition if not regularly paid, but you can order them into raiding stance to help make up the difference from the enemy's pocket.

The basic army will always include a Mercenary Captain lord, a Paymaster hero, and a few generic units of some sort - spearmen, crossbowmen, etc. Those generic units disappear when confederated, since they're really only for helping keep up with TWW's preponderance for large forces. The real meat is the unique units, usually three or four to represent a split-up larger unit. With enough coin, you can have multiple Dogs of War in one army.

They totally would.

You start off as one of these new "Rogue Armies" and go from there, selling your services to other factions and picking up smaller mercenary bands into your army to replenish losses, also you would naturally suffer very little terrain attrition anywhere you go.

Your army would function as a mobile camp, but play your cards right and you can actually gain territory of your own.

Getting high rep with factions would be a notable facet and grant your army many bonuses depending on the group in question.

So I assume these dogs of wat act nothing like dogs of war and you can never have multiple factions fielding said mercenaries
>>
>>54816076
Dogs of war were an actual army book in addition to their regiments of renown.

Also are you being deliberately obtuse? Said unique character RoR's could function just like they did in the tabletop during a non-Dogs of War campaigns, being available for hire to multiple different faction depending on the unit in question.

Or, the simple explanation is that she became barren after all those thousands of years.
Wasn't Malekith like ~2000 years old when he got burned?
I doubt they fucked before he went insane.

I seem to remember she had multiple sons from numerous races.

maybe it has been retconned, I don't know.

If you wanted to be boring you could just make the Dogs of War and all their Special Characters and Unique Units the army of Tilea since they use so many mercenaries, two birds with one stone in adding the Mercs to TWW and also making Tilea a proper faction, maybe unique gameplay mechanics to represent their city state nature.
>>
>>54816098
Dogs of War as a Horde faction could work, they would need special negotiation/hiring mechanics or otherwise be hostile to everyone.

>>54815837
>>54815879
This is correct. There is a Leonardo Da Vinci guy and his works are much prized in Tilea and beyond. He also helped found the gunnery school of Nuln.

There IS an Old Rome style city state, Luccini. Lorenzo Lupo, it's ruler, would be one of my picks for a legendary lord.

>>
>>54817221
They can't be, savage orcs are those tribes with no goblins, and forest goblins and night goblins also have no orcs, and squigs are a night goblin animal.
This is impossible with orks as the fungus, squigs, snotlings, gretchin, and orks are all the same species and will produce more of the other.
Another factor, orks instinctively know how to make weaponry and the grots are just slaves but orcs are too stupid to make more than rocks with sticks and need the goblins who are capable of actually making shit. Even feral orks will start making guns sooner rather than later.
>>
>>54817272

Credit where credit is due, while Mat Ward did drop the ball on O&G 7th, a lot of the magic items in it were *fun*. Wollopa's One-Hit Wunda, Maad's Map, the Brimstone Bauble. Fuck man, there's something hilarious about a Goblin on a wolf strapped full of dynamite trying to go after Elven heroes, while supported by bunch of Doom Divers going Wile E Coyote on the foe. Beepbeep.

Shame Madcap Mushrooms were nerfed though. Though they had the amusing effect of making it safer to slingshoot Fanatics through your own ranks.
>>
>>54812225
Would it he been better if AoS was set so far in the future that it was the halfway point between fantasy and 40k? Like make it WHF20K or somthing? With so much tech and genetic engineering (skaven genetic engineering dosnt count, that's literally sew two things together and apply warpstone librally) it's just a stepping atone. We could have kept fantasy, had AoS, and 40k if GW really just wanted to launch that garbage.

But here we are. No one plays tabletop anymore and the games, while fun, just arnt the same as throwing dice and cheating fate.

That wouldn't make sense with any of the existing background.

That said, if they wanted to do something mad, they could have spun off Age of Sigmar as a kind of Warhammer Planescape. Warhammer still exists, Sigmarines are some kind of Sigmarite daemons, there are other worlds out in the aether (parallel or otherwise) that contain whatever weird shit they want to come up with.
>>
>>54815096
As stupid as this is, in the context of the game it actually makes sense, since everytime you start a new game the world resets
>>
>>54817836
Or even make the winds of chaos subside altogether, and the northern realm of Chaos stabilizes into a gate oncemore. A subsequent dramatic decline in magic flowing into the Old World results in crop failure, starvation, Orcs not properly able to commune with Gork or Mork, etc...and every group now is rushing to explore what might lie beyond. The Lizardmen want to contact the Old Ones, the Skaven loot such a gate for themselves, etc?

Hell, you could even refluff Stormcasts as a "prototype voidsuit" designed by Balthasar Gelt. Would explain the Trumptastic Gold Motif. Ewww.

I wouldn't hugely object to a certain amount of fantasy space exploration. I enjoy the weirder stuff that's present in the setting.
Howver, it would be a departure from the normal themes of Warhammer. With the possible exception of the Lizardmen and maybe the Skaven.
>>
>>54818031
The real advantage I could see is this would have let GW do their "not spelljammer" experiment without nuking their existing lore or fanbase, and hopefully keep things "somewhat" grounded in reality. Stuff like Dwarven Airships already existed in WHFB's lore (Gotrek & Felix) and could be both a uniquely "nufantasy" and oldhammer release at once. Plus I doubt there are any notable competitors making Dwarven Airship Pirates...

Sadly, I find most the AOS minis fugly as hell. The foot Kharadron Arkanauts are good for converting a Dwarf Warband for Mordheim, but those portable balloon packs are just goofy.
>>
>>54815134
I don't know what causes it but it's usually a sign of bad devmanship when the campaign map is sluggish.
