By breaks, how long do you mean for? Hours, Days? It's hard for me to do that because I'll probobly end up forgetting about it completely or starting something else I'll likely never finish.

I'd say around 30 minutes to an hour to let your mind calm down, if you feel like. If you think you'll forget something, finish that beforehand.
If you have a concrete goal to your writing it can help to have a rough plan how to get there. Those can also help provide points to start/stop.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I would like to work with the Chinese one for a few years so I could speak a few languages (Japanese, Russian, maybe a few more). It says after one year of working with it you gain fluency in that language permanently. Most CYOAs are honestly not worth the time and effort investment of reading that much shit, and by most I mean like 99%. Originally all CYOAs were one page, no exceptions, and that was the comfortable length for them because they're just silly little things. But nowadays so many people seem to think bigger is better and if twelve options is good then 1200 options must be a hundred times better, and there's just no consideration for the fact that the audience might have other shit to do in their life.

And now you know why I quit. Well, that and I wrote page one in one of my feverish inspiration moods that I haven't had one of for months.
It was going to be five pages.

>Page 3: Equipment (specific mechanic I know would piss off a lot of people), lots and lots of different merchants

Looking at the dresses without reading anything, I like the classical and the steampunk ones. Horror is cute too though.

Not really, some of the things in the CYOA don't make sense.

The costs for monsters are fucked up and some of them aren't really profitable to take over other ones.

And it takes so long for some of the monsters to mature that it doesn't really make too much sense to take them.

The career choices are pretty bad too. IIRC the thief option combined with one kingdom gave you a ton of gold so much so that it didn't make sense to take anything else.

Those are my gripes with it. I actually liked the older version better, but besides that it's still my favorite lewd CYOA.

No, anon, you're wrong, there are many works which are near-universally considered good by anyone who bothers with them. Like literature.

Fantasy wise: Book of the New Sun, The Worm Ouroboros, Gormenghast, Earthsea.

Le Serious Literature: Borges and Tolstoy are good for beginners. Dante and Mallory can be good given how cool it is. Start with the Greeks (Illiad, Odyssey) if you haven't already. But honestly? Just read anything you find interesting (that's also considered good).
