I’ve always wanted to do a Ordo Hereticus Inquisition army after first seeing pic related but I’m not sure what models to get exactly. So far I’ve got Greyfax and two squads of Tempestus Scions to use as inq stormtroopers. I was thinking rhinos for transport but I have no idea what else I would need. I only really want a small force of about 1k points or so.

Can't really speak for him but I think we both had a good time, but I can't help but wish my Boyz had performed a bit better. I was able to surprise him by jumping my 30 boyz unit into his backline and charging his Captain and Librarian but I wasn't able to get many attacks off and the Librarian lived on 1 wound with the Cap taking no damage. My Dakkajet was almost destroyed turn 1 and then took 3 wounds off of a Razorback before dying. All in all I had a hard time concentrating any force onto his side of the board while he was able to pick off my stuff one at a time. I was also rolling pretty poorly that game, but I don't want to that at fault for everything. I guess it didn't help that it was the Hammer and Anvil.

Well, I think the COD loadout is better than the carbine, because a) they have an easy time getting into melee and b) using the Shock Grenade is less counter-intuitive than having to move a unit with 24" range up to within 6" for it.

The choice between Grav-Chute and Grappling Hook comes down to whether you want something that is just decent and reliable (Chute) or something with higher risk and higher reward, namely the chance of either appearing within grenade range or appearing completely stranded.

The single cheapest dreadnought is a mortis with four heavy bolters, at 109 points.

3 of them leaves 173 points. A Blood Angels librarian dread, a chaplain dread and Bjorn are all more expensive than that. Of the three named character forge world dreads, only Titus, at 170 points, qualifies.

So yes, you can just barely play a dread army at 500 points if you take three quad heavy bolter Mortis Dreads and Titus.

I was reading about Skitarii Transonic Weapons and was thinking that they'd create some pretty cool fighting styles if you extrapolated their properties.

You get megaslice "fuck your Termie armour" capabilties, but only after the first time you hit something, so you'd have to implement moves designed to tag your enemy as quickly and safely as possible to activate Transonic, regardless of the actual damage that would do to start with. In mutual Transonic duelling, you might wear some kind of layered mesh/leather/whatever armour to mitigate the damage one hit could do so you could have relatively safe formal duels to second or third hit.

I kind of feel like this would be some kind of Malagra sporting activity, we need more Admech fluff dammit.

Eventually moved up into rapid fire range but even outside rapid fire 10 overcharged shots will do about 8.89 wounds to a razorback and that's not even accounting for rerolls.

The heavies are neat, they're honestly like super sniper rifles that can overcharge to hurt vehicles. I'll have to see what their points cost is before I really commit to them.

Considering that in nearly any other book on the planet a human male will be written such that his motivations are either getting laid or getting more money/power, marines that do nothing but pray and train all day so that they can die horribly to alien/daemonic nightmares don't come off as all that human to me. They certainly have human traits and embody certain ideals but to say that they're anything less than deranged even in their stereotypical portrayals is purposefully ignorant.

Slaanesh can work very well if she wants to dedicate to it. Lets ignore taking anything CSM for right now and go over the basic daemons:

First note that all of them effectively swing first, or alternate if they get charged, so this is a big boon in melee.

Your psy powers are: Do moral wounds based on LD vs 2d6", nearest unit is -1 to hit, free fight phase for one of your units

The masque is pretty deadly vs enemy troops and such, A keeper murder pretty much anything and heralds strengthen your other units (very important!) Heralds on steeds are better, normal chariots are even better, exalted are kinda trash as you can be singled out due to wound count.

Daemonettes are fast, cheap and reasonably deadly. Take lots, give icons and instruments

Fiends are strong, but only slightly better than daemonttes. Good as they hold the enemy in place, also damn fast.

Seekers are faster daemonettes. Can take or not, no real loss

Your daemon princes will destroy things, axes are very useful to solve big problems, dual claws are good otherwise, points value for the sword is bullshit compared to claws.

Ignore chaos furies unless you want some. Only good thing about this is having higher strength than daemonettes and they are faster.

Soulgrinders are great fire support, but you're going to be speeding into melee with everything else. Would suggest flying daemon princes over grinders, but I would wait for new codex before going after soulgrinders heavily.

Only other thing to mention is obliterators will serve you well for fire support if you want CSM stuff. They are also daemons, so it fits.
