I'm playing Blood Angels. I want a stormraven, with a dreadnought inside. Should I take a Death Company dreadnought, or a redemptor chadnought ?

The first is 232 pts, more fragile, but stronger up close.

The second is 202 pts, sturdier and shootier.

Just got back from the store with this big ol $60 pile of paint.

How does this look? I accidentally bought Straken Green instead of Niblet Green, but I think I might use Straken Green anyway, I'm trying to pull off the Pre-Heresy Salamanders Look, which is why I got bronze instead of gold, but I'm not sure exactly what paints I would need to make that shade of green.

Skavenblight is for Salamander skin, small details and highlighting black.
Stormvermin is for highlighting the Skavenblight.

Mephiston is for helmet lenses and purity seals, and also flame details (I still need an orange, yellow and white for fire, but I'm not worrying about those since I want to improve my general just painting skills before I do any freehand stuff.

Copper is for my metals I think, unless I want something else, I'm sure the store will let me trade out colors because they are cool, so I could get like Balthazar Gold or something, but I think Hashut Copper will look fine.

Screaming Skull is for purity seal parchment.

Waaagh! Flesh, Warpstone Glow and Straken Green are for armor. Like I said I meant to get Niblet Green which I was going to use to highlight the Warpstone glow, but I'm sure what I'm doing now.

I'm going back to the store on thursday or friday to pick up Nuln Oil and Leadbelcher and maybe some more colors, because they're getting a new shipment in and I asked them to set those two colors aside for me.

What are the best shenanigans you can pull with Reivers? Does vertical distance count at all for the purpose of determining gun range? My local meta loves to include really tall scenery because it's fun, with grapnel guns you can just zip straight to the top of a three or four story building to escape melee combat, then bully your enemies with bolt carbine fire.

Does the Black Library MEGA still exist? I can't find anything.

I've got the workflow down to be pretty simple now so I can give you a run down.

Open the epub up in Scribe

Extract all of the fonts and find the full version equivalents

Check the font family name of your replacement font and the font from the epub with Font Forge and adjust as needed.

Swap the fonts in the epub with your replacement ones.

Export with Prince

Check it over by viewing the original epub with Readium.

Double check your pdf in either Sumatra or some other dedicated pdf viewer.

That's really all there is to it. It took some trial and error to figure it all out, but now I can get one done in about 10 minutes.

So, I have some campaign stuff to finish up for a local store campaign first, but after that, I'll get right on them. The question is, where should I start?

I don't have mkv armor, but I do have MKIV in spades, including a bunch of recast MKIV assault packs + arms. I also have 10 tartaros I'll be making into mostly LC termies. I also have 2 drop pods I was planning on using for HH, but it's a dead game (especially around my area now), and with their points drop, they seem useable. I also have plastic contemptors I want to use because I feel like that's something sharks would have.

The other question is Primaris. I read the bit where sharks have access due to insider stuff, and reivers really fit the whole sharks thing. However, I'm not sure.

Yeah do some test models to see how you like the blend of parts. Scouts are actually very fluffy for sharks but if you get reivers it might be redundant to invest in both.

with their new 15 point reduction, at 60 points per model they're actually quite good and 3 of them will kill 4 MEQ at 18" which is pretty decent for 180 points.

We dont know the cost of their plasma option yet but its only slightly better against marines due to the lower amount of shots but its quite strong against medium vehicles, giving the inceptors strong versatility

It specifically mentions in the next paragraph that only infantry can go through walls and floors, RAW meaning that if there's such thing as a non infantry, non vehicle, non monster, non bike unit, it has to actually climb the outside of the building. Kinda neat.

Looks like the best way to break armor (even with AM detachments available) is to load up some Aberrants in a Goliath Rock Grinder or ambush some Acolytes with Power Drills.

Even better than my IG detachment options. Just need to figure out my anti flyer now. I don't see a Tyranid Sheet yet, how does GSC or Nids deal with flyers?
