Alright, so all of Wave XI is spoiled, and we've got like 6 unannounced SKUs. I feel like it's time to take a strawpoll on what people think will show up in Wave XII.

Did this before Wave XI and some people actually guessed right!

I'd take crackshot over Mk. IIs honestly, especially on Ryad.

Had some really, really silly games today. I ran Two Tansarii Vets with Fearlessness and Arc Caster being supporter by VI Serissu with TB. List was rounded out with a Genesis Red with VI and HLC. I utterly destroyed my opponent on the joust, which he really didn't have much say in because of the TB.

Next game I took out an old list with Carnor/Zertik/Kagi. It used to be a Palp list but I instead swapped out those 8 points for other upgrades on Kagi, inspiring recruit, Rebel captive, and some other jank. Turns out mindlink doesn't work when your entire list is range one of Carnor. Which then doesn't get its range modifiers, and Kagi says hi to those K4 TLs. It did alright, going to have to try it again.

Also I watched a game where Sunny rolled three crits, which then became four. Needless to say the HWK did not survive. Sunny is honestly a pretty damn good use of 12 points.

So guys I keep seeing people talking about how great Integrated Astromech is, and I dont get it.

It's free, and that's nice, but at the same time being able to throw away the bonus from an astromech to negate one damage doesnt exactly seem mind blowing to me.

Yeah, check out the OP for some starship combat fixes.

What is the most cumbersome (as in requires the most brawn to use) weapon in EotE/AoR/FaD? Our party has a droid who is gunning down a heavy weapons guy tree and he's wanting to wield the most unreasonably large weapon possible eventually. We're just starting out but he can get up to 4 now, 5 soon with burly, and more with mods. His tree has burly 2 more times which means he can get up to 7 without mods, 8-9 if he bumps his stats.

He's talking that he wants to literally rip a weapon off of a starfighter and use it.
>>
>>53963964

I'm running a tie swarm this weekend for a store championship.

I hear the bog-standard list is Howlrunner, 2 omega pilots, and 3 black pilots all with crackpot, but I want to have some fun with it.

I haven't seen the math on it, can someone run some math on rage and focus versus normal howlrunner and focus?

Black crack, wampa, youngster with rage, scourge crack, mithel crack, Epsilon leader.

It might constrict me to a tighter dial when I go in to kill with rage, but Epsilon leader ensures I could do it every turn, or k-turn endlessly to combat defenders.

If I lose Howlrunner, I lose rerolls. If I lose youngster, I lose rerolls. Only difference is pilot skill and crackshot access. Although rage lets me get full refills at R1 and can activate if I detach a blocker.
>>
>>53961677

Well, for a start, you only really use it for REALLY bad crits, or because to not use it would kill you. If it's a diferrence between losing a 1pt Astromech or a 21+ pt X-Wing, you'd take the Astromech every time.

Secondly, you choose to use it AFTER you see what a crit is. So, you can better choose when to use it.

Thirdly, it works on Kylo Rens ability. So you can prevent him from blinding your Poe right before an important attack.

Fourthly the Droid that gives you a free EPT slot has no real purpose past the squadron construction step of the game and you can dump that guy for an extra HP on demand whenever you like.

Plus, what ELSE are you going to put into that mod slot? Guidance Chimps maybe if you're running Torps?
>>
>>53963394
The only houserules I can think of being common are the starship combat tweaks, either Shipfag's or someone else's, and making cover more effective.

EotE really isn't a mess nor is its starship fighting, it's just as >>53963605 said it's a deadlier system than people realize and starship combat is particularly deadly and when you first run it it's fairly confusing. Loads better than D6 and Saga's space combat though if you've ever played them.
>>
>>53968642
I'll run the math when i'm not on a phone, but it's not mutch better, and that stress is *brutal*

You need crack to punch through most shit as well.

Lastly, if you are seriously trying to have a Kturn contest against a defender, you just lost. You need to flank those things to stop their action economy. If you let them 4k forever, focus+evade+3 defense dice means they will outlast you.

Here are the numbers-

At range 2/3, you go from 1.83 to 1.875 hits on average.

At range 1, you go from 2.68 hits to 2.81 hits.
In exchange, you have a greater action dependency, a different howlrunner (Epsilon Leader instead of Howl) and a much more predictable dial.

I would stick with the howl+3 black crack +36 points of whatever, it's tried and true.

good suggestions include

- 3x Academy pilots
- 2x Omega Squadrons with Crack
- Scourge and Mauler with Crack
- Black with Crack and Zeta Leader with Crack.
- 36 or less points of ace.

Unless you're in a sanctioned event I would be blown away to meet anybody who gives a shit.
>>
>>53972636
>>53969283
Even in a sanctioned event, you can likely borrow the cards you need from someone else. The only reason someone would say no is if you are asking for something like nothing but Palp/R3-A2 priced cards and they don't trust you.

a couple weeks ago, I mailed someone in this thread a copy of PTL because they needed one, and he was able to get someone to give him a copy of BB-8 at his first tournament.

It's not like the cards are worth much money aside from a few exceptions.

Should we try to set up some sort of card trading system?
>>
>>53971917
Is crackshot really better than wired on zeta leader? What about including wampa?

I'm leaning on 3 black, mauler, scourge, howl a'll with crack, or 4 black crack, howl crack, zeta wired.
>>
>>53973246
If you can afford a tech slot, wired is better. It's more of a late game card.

neither is better than the other. If you can afford Weapons Guidance, Wired is probably better though.

The reasoning behind this is that Zeta usually shoots first, and he has a focus. You'll probably only roll 1 focus most attacks. Rerolling it when you have a focus is just gambling, and unless there is a good payoff there (Weapons Guidance means you might save a focus, as if you roll it into a blank you will be fine) it's not worth it.

This does beg the question- Why not a comm relay for durability? Wired works here as a "oh shit I had to re-evade to turn my Comm relay back on" card here- more late game survival.

TLDR- Crack Shot for punishing people early game, Wired is late game but more situational.
>>
>>53973436
Thanks for the analysis. What about wampa? Is it better to have the crackshot, or does his ability with a reroll make a difference?

>>
>>53973600
Wampa is 1 point cheaper, deals less damage on the alpha, draws more aggro, and is there to fuck corran horn's day up.

Whether Wampa is in there or not is up to you. I don't put him in that often, mostly because regen ships tend to be my "chase after this at first and crackshot it to death" choice, and without Palp (and old-palp at that) backing, Wampa is unreliable.

If you get fucked by regen aces or insane amounts of token stacking, put wampa in there. If you see shit like YT-XX00's a lot, wampa isn't that great.
>>
>>53974615
That's a lot of points- My TIE/SF's cost 31 minimum, for a free-ept Omega Specialist with gear.

He had six ships? What was he running? Did you mean TIE/FO's?
>>
>>53973046
I more just mean it's part of the rules of the game in tournaments. My experience parallels yours in that lending cards is very common. In Armada around here we do a lot of card/model lending (who actually wants to buy 4 Nebulons to play a gimmick list?).

A card trading system would probably be a good idea.
>>
>>53973046
>Should we try to set up some sort of card trading system?

Nobody really wants to trade X-wing cards, but everybody seems totally okay with loaning and proxying. It's a bit weird, but it seems overall less toxic. Nobody is haunting organized play just to make advantageous trades with casual players that don't know any better.
>>
>>53975666
Should we try making a google doc or similar? Make a want list of cards you need, and a list of cards you have spare?

As of now the only cards I need are Primed Thrusters and Thug Droids, but I have a lot of stuff I don't need- promo cards too.
>>
>>53976134

>Have: Deadeye x15
>Want: Gencon Lando
>Willing to trade 1 to 2

Been there, done that.
No merit in the barter system. It's zero-sum.
>>
>>53976079
Yea my friend asked to buy one of my cards that I have several copies of and hardly ever use and I still hesitated. I mean I wound up just giving it to him free but I guess I just like having a collection.
>>
>>53976165
I meant more "here is shit I have if anyone wants it (ion projectors, PTL, VI, Stealth Device, assorted garbage), does anyone have these..." not really a barter system, more a 'pay it forward' type deal.

Either way, i'm only trying to get cards because while i normally provide all ships for my playgroup, we sometimes do go to tournaments, and I have to get cards for all 4 of our lists at once, lest someone is anal about it.
>>
>>53976241
>i normally provide all ships for my playgroup

You are the problem.
Your playgroup is also the problem.

I don't mind, and apparently neither do you.
If you are affluent enough to support an entire group of X-wing players and not care, I can't see any reason why the extra handful of purchases should matter to you. Upgrades are mostly cheap and plentiful on eBay.

If you are not independently wealthy and you are supporting a playgroup you need to stop and never do it again.

If you are independently wealthy, hobby games simply don't matter as an expenditure no matter how profligate you care to be.
>>
>>53976388
I built up my collection on my own while I was at college, and then moved and loaned out my collection to friends. I play more pickup games at my LGS than I do with friends, but since I have 95% of x-wing stuff among us, i let them borrow lists from me. Mostly since my collection is over 80% empire though, i lack some cards. Having this many TIES is good for hotac though.

So I've been playing a SAGA game as a Trandoshan smuggler. The GM let me start out with a ship and a very advanced droid as the crew (a very advanced fembot that my character won off a renegade scientist in a card game) who stays on the ship. The idea is he was the runt of the litter that barely survived childhood, and he hates all things traditionally Trandoshan.

That sounds like fun, what is the overall plot? The family thing? Also if palps wiped the jedi archives, what info does your girlfriend's character have to go on?

My players are:
>an ex clinetrooper turned bounty hunter, returned to soldier for the rebels
>a chiss smuggler thats outcast by the ascendancy
>a tech thats skipped out on his imperial dayjob with classified intel
>a noble whos family didnt agree with palp's new regime, and is now on the run
>a quirky r3 droid, who noone understands but the tech, since hes the only one who took binary.

They are supposed to be travelling to all the former separatist worlds to try and see if there are any old capital ships the rebels could scrap and use for their own fleet. It takes place right after yavin 4 so the rebels are really scattered in the race to establish echo base.

They just made it to vinsoth by escaping imperial interdiction forces, and decided that carrying cargo under a legitimate freight licence might save them some hassle with the Imps. The smuggler however decided that if he was hauling freight, he wanted to make real money, so he tried for illicit cargo. What happened next is completely SNAFU. and since combat rounds in saga are 6 seconds, BURNED DOWN a crack den/ryll den in about 7minutes top to bottom. Now they have the imps and space cartels chasing them.

they are the best, and did exactly what i thought they would

Shove him on a Raider and bring a thousand ties.
>>
>>53982695
Point reduction needs to be bigger- his double mods are only really useful on punishers and bombers, meaning he will end up eating a crew slot and only saving 1 point on average in most lists, all while requiring you to take a crew-capable ship. You can't even spam acadamies well with it- howl, a bomber, and 6 PS 1 TIEs is all you can fit, and that's just a worse pattiswarm.

He would have to be appearing in somevsort of bomber or punisher list to have any useful gimmick.
>>
>>53984500
>>53983562
>>53982695
He needs to need to decrease the cost of mods on TIEs- most ties go modless anyways due to mods being inefficient points for them- why would you take a mod like shield/hull/engine/etc when TIE/fo's exist, and so on- mods are usually only taken on either very expensive large ships, or on small ships where the mods are auto-take (autothrusters, chips, IA, etc).
>>

So, Wraith Squadron epic game.

Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, 4 Red Squadron pilots, CR90 corvette with ordnance tubes for the Loran Spitball.
I have no other specifics for it yet - other than maybe swapping out a couple of the X-wings for Sabine TIEs (proxying in a normal TIE model)

How can I get even more thematic my dudes
>>
Quick question /swg/. Is there any rule that says you can't activate two Force powers in one turn? Like, if you have a Talent that lets you use one as a maneuver. Would you be able to use one as a maneuver and then use your action to make a different power check?
>>
>>53985985

I think as long as you're able to spend the appropriate action/maneuver you can do it as much as you like - assuming the GM thinks it makes sense.

You can totally Leap as a maneuver into a lightning bolt.
>>
Speaking of lightning bolts...

/swg/, how are you supposed to describe Unleash if they don't have/aren't using the Mastery upgrade? Cuz the Mastery upgrade is the only time they describe it as actual lightning. But there are also other upgrades that let you add Qualities. Sure, you can probably justify Unleash as whacking someone with the Force, but how would that attack have Ensnare? How could that attack have fucking Burn 2? And don't give me some 'force flame' bullshit, that's like the snowflakiest Star Wars thing I've ever heard.
>>
>>53986210
Pure force energy. Although for burn I think pyrokinesis is warranted.
>>
>>53986210

Perhaps at low levels it uses and amplifies the target's bioelectricity.
It gets Ensnare because the random rerouting and rejacking of their nervous system's impulses by their own body's electrical impulses causes their muscles to lock up.
If done with enough force, it can cause Burn as the impulses arc down paths they shouldnt.

With Mastery, it does that and then also allows you to draw from the force and throw in full blown lightning bolts to add into all that power you were using before
>>
>>53986210

Well, judging by the Baran Do alt tradition in Disciples of Harmony, you could go the "warp native electricity route" and like, call bursts of current from nearby objects and environment.

But yeah, they call it "Unleash" so you don't have to think of it just as lightning, it can be whatever you want or need it. Bolts of black energy, white fire, radium-green energy that eats people like acid, w/e. I don't think the mastery upgrade is meant to imply it only hits full blown lightning at that point - just that you're reaching the power level of sith hate bolts of legend. All it does mechanically is reduce the crit rating.

I'm assuming you're talking about FFG's RPG system. The stats for it actually exist, in Dangerous Covenants. It's Rarity 9, just make your players roll for it.

Alternatively, it's not -that- amazing of a ship stat wise, so giving one away is not a big deal. You could even make it a story point, obligation for managing to land a rare ship.

Imperial Veterans, TIE/SF and TIE/FO for imperials

K-Wings, Ghosts and Heroes of the Resistance for Rebels.

Not really- if your opponent sees it, they will spread out on the deploy, or suicide a scrub/send in a 10HP ship to break through the fort, and then your 3 no-weapons (just unguided) punishers need to fight something like 2 aces+crippled palp shuttle, or Fenn+asajj+injured manaroo, etc.

X-wing question-

as a thought exercise / to generate discussion about MoV, I'm thinking of trying to win a local store championship with a 1-ship build-

My go plan is to make the Fattest Miranda something nearly 60 points. I'm talking

TLT
Advanced Slam
Sabine
Bomblet Generator
Cluster Mines
Extra Munitions
Homing Missile
and a torpedo (Ion torps? Advanced Proton? Plasma? Proton? I already have a homing missile so IDK)

I intend to try to kill 1 ship and then just SLAM like a retard away from fights/dropping Bomblets every round for the remaining portion of the 70 minutes.

Is this worth it? It's all a thought exercise to prove that MoV is a seriously flawed system.

I remember that someone did this at an Australian national/regional in 2015 with just PTL/Autothrusters/Stealth device Soontir and went 3/2 or something.
>>
>>53991116
I'm pretty sure most pilot dedicate classes get at least one combat skill of some sort unrelated to ships since the pilot specializations tend to be offshoots of the combat oriented professions.
>>
My brother bought EoE and he's putting a group together.
I've got my backstory mostly together, but I'm not sure what race and class would be fitting.
>Parents ran a library or a museum or something
>Empire executed them and razed their work to the ground under charges of Rebel Sympathy and Anti-Imperial propaganda
>set off to the stars to try to save historical artifacts and such from destruction so the Empire can't rewrite history, so to speak
>Obsession with artifacts is his Obligation
What do you think? Am I subconsciously making Nico Robin?

Not knocking you here anon, but the idea itself is tiresome and way overdone. Some things can be too cliche and dumb even for Star Wars.
>>
>>53995610

The dead parents thing sure, but at the same time the Empire did a lot of messed up shit.

Besides, putting people to death for Rebel sympathising and anti-imperial propaganda ist them being 'evil moustache twirlers' - you're thinking of Alderaan.

Putting people to death because they spread histories or information you dont like is something that real dictatorships do all the time, why does the Empire doing it make no sense to you.
>>
>>53995756

Every government does messed up shit from time to time. Backstories making the Empire seem like a 24/7 edgy evil murderparty are what's stupid.

I think we're heading for another Empire v. Rebellion morality debate or at the least an Alderaan debate, and as fun as those are they have a tendency to draw in shitposters from both ends of the argument while neutral fag-nons endlessly moan and complain about Star Wars lore discussion in a Star Wars thread. It's more trouble than it's worth.
>>
>>53995943

I mean, it's a huge galaxy with a lot of shitty local moffs / governors who want to exercise their control.
This isnt something where they just blew up a ship for fun, or glass a planet or whatever.
They shot some people who they view as terrorists and dissenters.

Hell it's some of the least 'edgy evil murderparty' reasoning ive seen.

And, much as people dont like it, the Empire did a lot of fucked up shit.
Whether you think it was justifiable or not, whether you think they're the good guys or not, they killed a *lot* of people.
For some of those people to have been the PC's parents isnt exactly a stretch.

That said I do agree that yet another argument about the morality of the Empire is pointless and retarded.

Another Store Championship in the books. Here's what I ran.

T-70 X-Wing: •Poe Dameron (HotR) (45)
Autothrusters (2)
•Black One (1)
Push the Limit (3)
•R2-D2 (4)
Pattern Analyzer (2)

A-Wing: •Jake Farrell (33)
Autothrusters (2)
A-Wing Test Pilot (0)
Push the Limit (3)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Proton Rockets (3)

TIE Fighter: •Ahsoka Tano (22)
•Captured TIE (1)
•Sabine's Masterpiece (1)
Veteran Instincts (1)
•Rey (2)

Total: 100/100

I got 2nd this time, my only loss being in the final. That's 4th, 3rd, and now 2nd in Store Champs this season. All I'm missing is the trophy.

Playing my 4th attempt through KOTOR2. So far I haven't lost interest but damn is it slow going. I played and beat KOTOR 1 in under a week. Why is this game so dull?
>>
>>53997730
Because the game was rushed as shit and it shows.
>>
>>53997764
>>53997730
Also because Chris Avellone and company tend to get absorbed up their own asses when they write. Usually, they tone things down or at least create a gradually escalating ramp of ass-sorbtion, as in Bioshock Infinite. KOTOR 2 goes right up its own ass within the first hour and stays there.
>>
>>53997730
It was rushed as fuck and Avellone tried to rub his dick all over it.
>>
>>53997730
I hope you're playing KOTOR II with the Restoration Mod. That adds all the good story content they cut from the game due to being rushed as fuck, plus it fixes a shitload of bugs they left in after patching out the most critical bugs and glitches
>>
>>53997146
How did that 45 point Poe do? in lists where I have ~40 points left over i keep trying to add in poe, but I always have to cut something down from that build. How useful was the PS 9?
>>
>>53998620
He was great. PtL and pattern analyzer means I get double actions and no stress on greens at PS9, plus whatever extra action ahsoka gives me. Focus/lock on every attack is very consistent and a PS Infinity boost with black one helps minimize the impact of ordnance.
>>
>>53995943
See, no one makes a fuss when the Imperium purges xenos and heresy, but if the Empire does it it's gotta be a huge debate

In this case, rewriting history and wiping out anti-Imperial rhetoric is canon as fuck
>>
>>53997730

>>
>>53998773
>>53998620

I've had similar results from goin PTL - BB8 - Primed Thrusters - IA with PS9 Poe. You trade regen for extra movement options but it's tremendous fun.
>>
>>53999216
I can't wait for intensity to get realised to run it with this build instead of ptl
>>
>>53998773
So how useful was the PS 9 vs the PS8? How useful was Black One?

I have a 42 point hole to fill (Bringing a Superdash) and I'm not sure what type of ship I should bring. I could run PA+R2d2+PTL+Autos, or maybe run IA instead of Autos.

Inb4 Miranda, I don't have a K-wing.
>>
>>53964719
Can confirm, played a Heavy, used a heavily modded version of that.
The HOB is okay, I guess.
>>
>>53999330
PS9 is good to go after Omega Leader. Black One is huge against ordnance and Omega Leader, plus is a bit of a check to the efficiency of FCS.

Without Ahsoka you'll be in for a rough go against scum alpha, so PS8 is probably sufficient. Definitely always rock autos.
>>
>>53999478
I was thinking PS8+Lone Wolf+Sensor Cluster+Autos+Black One.

The issue there is that Lone Wolf means I would effectively never use Black One to remove a lock from Dash.

Would you think that this is a good use of the 42 points leftover to hang out with a Superdash?
>>
>>53999506
That looks fine. I'm not crazy about it but my buddy uses Norra with Dash. I'm toying with the idea of Ahsoka running with Dash plus a cheap A-Wing running around.
>>
>>53999806
The PS8 to me i'm thinking might be an issue- is running VI instead of Lone Wolf a good idea?

That way I can boost after OL locks me, and less opportunity cost with being close to Dash to remove locks from him.

I know i mentioned it earlier, but would giving every TIE interceptor PTL for free without using an EPT slot, alongside allowing a discount hull upgrade as an extra mod, fix the ship?

Every single Interceptor takes it, and if they can't they are relegated into garbage.

It both makes them better and opens up their builds for more flexible options. Want to take Juke or Predator or the like? Now you can without gimping yourself. Want to run Alphas, avengers, or sabres? Now you can. Kir Kanos isn't garbage. Aces not named Fel and Jax might see play. Autothrusters are already auto-take, but letting them also take hull at a discount actually gives them some decisions to make regarding taking mods on PS 5 or lower ships.

Thoughts?
>>
Hey /swg/, what are some good NPC's to keep in mind for the starting world of a Edge of the Empire game? I've filled out the gallery pretty well, from arms dealers to black market doctors, but what are some essential underworld or legal figures that any world needs?
>>
>>54003193

I mean, interceptors do really need action economy to work - or they need just fucking more of them (which doesn't work in the 100/6 format).

I suspect FFG will not go that route necessarily, but an effect to give them more without using an EPT slot, or the ability to gain an EPT slot (and maybe not doubling up if you already have one so it's not A-Wing Test Pilot) would not go awry I think.

That, or we need an AT like upgrade which can mitigate bomb damage (and probably also mitigate obstacle effects, since AT has multiple uses).

/SWG/ Discord when?
>>
>>54003337

I'm going to hold on to this image for reasons.
>>
>>54003296
Even without bomb-cancer everywhere, only Jax and Fel saw any use, and Jax only when token stacking went too far.

Due to the first ept slot on an interceptor being the most valuable one (since PTL is MANDATORY) It's not exactly gamebreaking.

Interceptors were clearly designed around PTL, but with only half of them even able to equip it, they are better off being replaced by Backstabber or the like for the points. (Green hard turns go to waste without PTL, as does having 4 actions on the bar)
>>
>>54003514

Early wave design is nuts. The EPT slot was clearly always super valuable - and that makes a lot of veteran players kind of mad that a lot of modern ships (especially in scum) get low PS EPTs but at the same time it is so clearly important that they do so a lot of the time. Otherwise you end up with the "Who the fuck flies generic interceptors?" problem.

Early X-Wing took that Elite thing way too far. Though I've heard that historically FFG designs the highest PS aces with their abilities first, then reduces down to generics so maybe that is why you get so goofy and bad with a lot of early ships generics.
>>
>>54003337
I'd be on one if we had one.
>>
>>54003624
That's why i'm thinking PTL for all Interceptors and a discount Hull Upgrade as an option is a good fix-

Now you can put Predator or Juke or something on your Interceptors without saying "this is a joke list/made by a monkey with a handful of darts"

By doing this, you remove effective mandatory choices that aren't just "we needed more rules text" cards (TIE/SF and ARC titltes, etc) and actually let them decide what they want in their EPT slots if they have them, and get PTL for viability if they don't.

Had my AoR players take an Imperial rocket assembly plant with an infantry company. They felt like the session was a bit on the easy side until I had four of these fuckers show up. The party's stealth guy ate an auto-fire volley during the breach and clear. The Marauder had to run through a hail of bolts to extract the incapacitated stealth guy while the Trailblazer gave sniping cover and took sniper rounds himself. The Instructor was shouting words of encouragement to keep everyone going. She survived an auto-fire volley by grabbing a nearby droid as a shield. In the end, the Marauder and Trailblazer escaped with 1 WT left, thanks to Trailblazer's AoE that gives friendlies bonus soak while in cover.

1/3 of the allied infantry company was killed in this mess.

I actively sought to kill at least one PC. They did well this day.

Vague and arbitrary. Who are you to speak for the majority of the fanbase and which critics are you citing? And what of the events that aren't well-received but still taken as "canon" by the vast majority of later works and authors? The books dealing with the Caamas Crisis weren't smash hits, but every Legends work written after them assumes the crisis still happened.
>pick and choose
Then what's the point? If every side of the argument can cherry-pick, circlejerk over confirmation bias, and plug its ears when something goes against its narrative, then this argument goes nowhere, as it has always done in these threads.
>>
>>54013092
>this argument goes nowhere, as it has always done in these threads

Internet arguments never change anyone's minds, they only entrench fags in their own arguments and embitter them.

Every time these arguments begin and end in earnest no one sees anything different and be you an Imperial or Rebel fag all you gain is bitterness for the other guy and more bias in your own viewpoints.

Not gonna baw about lore discussion - I welcome it - but I'd like to see lore discussions that lead somewhere. The Empire good/bad debate has existed since the 70s and has only ever accomplished making everyone hate each other and shove their heads further up their own asses. There's just no point to argue one way or the other.
>>
>>54013118

We are going to start playing a Force and Destiny campaign and I am thinking about playing a Seeker Hermit to be kind of a beast tamer. Hard part is how difficult it is to use my powers on beast. To create a bond the animal needs to be the size of half my force rating, and a horse is at least 2, so I need a 4 Force Rating. Forget about even trying for a Bantha or something bigger, I'd need a rating of 8. I'm having a hard time finding critters of size 1 that I would be able to keep at a pet as is.

Is this not a class I'd want to start a character on and maybe down the line take it as my second class? Guess I could be a normal jedi on horseback but it is less exciting not having that bond.

Ways of forcibly adding Weapons Disabled tokens to things might be the next big mechanic for the game too. So we could be getting things like Heavy Ion Cannons that do this, or Buzz Bots that might have this ability. I'm not sure, it'd need to be balanced as being hard to do.

>>
>>54026704
What type of ships, and to what extent?

Mostly you need a small brush and good paint.

for most non-super-cool paintjobs, just get some Citadel paint from your LGS and a couple incredibly fine brushes.

Rememer when painting, you should thin your paint to the point that it is over 50% water.

If you are in the chicagoland area, I have a spare brush set and a bunch of paint that's sitting around, since I finished repainting my fleet.

You can always go to the /wip/ general and ask for advice.

Also, tip for empire repaints- The GW/Citadel color 'Mephistion Red' is the exact same shade as Royal Guard/Glaive Squadron ships.

That's what made me question it, that'd be way too good of a card

I'd work on my spare ships, so x-wings, starviper, a-wings, tie fighters, and maybe a few others. I really don't like the color scheme of the tie defender from the imperial aces pack so definitely that one.

Imagine this on a PTL-carring Lancer (asajj) that has had a long fight against Kylo or just got a good combination of cards-say you have 3 face down and 3 face up damage cards. Sure, you have 1 HP, but you have 6 attack and 5 agility on a 2 action chassis with a mobile arc.

If scum gets a ship that has 2+ crew besides the YV-666, you also get to add Gonk to this hellhole.

Or give this fucker to Tel Teruava. Come back to life, make yourself have 6 red dice on a turret with 100% consistency.

Don't try for anything inordinately complicated or fiddly when you first start off, keep it really simple and maybe just change the colour of some of highlights, throw a thin wash over the bits you want darkened, dry brush back in highlights with pale colours etc.

Starting off, get your primary colours, a black and a white. Thin, fine detail brush, one thats about 2-33x bigger for dry brushing, water container and something to mix the paints on- old interior tiles or plates work well

They've already been primed and painted, so if you do paint over the top make sure its super thin to avoid any lumpy bits or rough patches.
If you're going to make a really serious go of a complete re-paint back to bare plastic you can soak them in some paint remover* and wash it off with something like a toothbrush

I was trying to make something completely stupid because it's Jaxxon the Jackrabbit, teh pregenitor of Bucky O'Hare and Apogee Games Jazz the Jackrabbit and was created by Lucasarts and Marvel Comics to remind people that Star Wars isn't meant to be taken seriously.

Another idea I had was a reverse Letts Razzi, where you could remove stress from your target to add one <hit> result to your attack dice results. Make it Firing Arc only.

Make a Jar Jar card!
You have Jar Jar on your ship, there's a 50% chance he causes something accidentally terrible to happen to the enemy ship, or a 50% chance that something terrible happens to your ship.

Nah, dropping bombs out of the front is fine.

I mean, mechanically speaking, you drop a Proton Bomb like that at just the wrong moment you're fucked, but the gameplay is sound.

Basically infinite bombs. But it's Jar Jar who is controlling the button.

Anyway, I've cleaned up some of the text a bit along with the formatting. How does this look?

>Jar Jar and Vader on the same Decimator
>I'm not saying it would be a good combo gamewise
>I'm just saying it would be funny
>"Heyyo! It'sa MEESA! Jar Jar Binks on this eighta hour journerino to Sullust!"
>Vader: [DO NOT WANTING INTENSIFIES]

So IIRC, on at least one occasion in Legends, a bunch of Jedi channeled their power into one other Jedi to temporarily supercharge a Force power, albeit at the cost of the latter's life. Seeing as those Jedi were, to my knowledge, still rookies, would it be plausible for a more experienced Jedi to survive performing the Force equivalent of a Spirit Bomb? And is there any non-Dark Side precedent for normies being able to give their energies, however meager, to that sort of bullshit? It's for a lighthearted, campy sort of FaD campaign so no need to be super serious about Force shenanigans.

Just a spelling mistake- Senator

To be fair, Jar Jar pronounces it this way.

Take themn to a water world.
Imply it'll be Quarren or Mon Cals theyre dealing with, so they go in prepared for making ITS A TRAP jokes.

Then spring the Gungans on them.

Silly smuggler, you thought it would be a fish?

Not the anon you're replying to, but consider this idea stolen.

Looks like FFG is planning on selling more dice, they're releasing a generic version of the system they use for Star Wars it seems. Wonder if it'll have any mechanical tweaks applicable to SW?

So it's the equivalent of running rainbow with nothing but 1ofs goodstuff in card games?
>>
>>54035403
yeah, it would be the equivalent of running a MTG deck comprised solely of 1-drop spells of a bunch of different colors.
>>
>>54035549
my followup question: Would that list actually function here? Because it sounds like a fun list.
>>
>>54035613
a better summary would be a mono- or dual color deck that has no duplicate cards, still only comprised of 1-drops.

It would work a lot better if you took more of the same ships, or more of the same Pilot skill at least.

It's not a bad list, but it's not good.

A more traditional swarm of multiples of the same ship is probably better for empire.

Rebels and scum tend to have more of the "random mix of ships", but they are also more reliant on upgrades.

Good to see there's no force die equivalent, means they're not trying to completely shoe-horn SW mechanics where it may not fit.

Part of the basis of why it's so easy to hit somebody else is the fluff claim of targeting computers being to good, as well as the general design goal of emulating the feel of the movies. So with those limitations off, and the inclusion of the Steampunk/Weird War/Modern Day settings (where it's harder to justify the hand-wave of awesome targeting computers), it could potentially mean that there's some vehicle combat adjustments that makes smaller vehicle piloting more survivable. I mean, I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath, but the potential is there.

>making it's a trap jokes
>turns out it is the players who have had the trap sprung on them
Find a way to get them stuck on the planet for a while so they must deal with the gungans.
