I consider Slivers the same as Kaalia. They're easy to kill if you target them early but a nightmare later on if you let them stick around. The clear option is to kill them fast, but then the player always complains about being targeted.

also there's no reason you shouldn't abuse the first ability too. i think you probably shouldn't build full-retard with the tribal effects, but going on a zombie focus with your creatures and putting in some of the good zombie generation seems very much worth it. scrying more than 6 per turn is almost like tutoring every turn if your deck is consistent enough.

I try to make my decks do one thing and one thing very well. My decks are very consistent.
The longer you play the more you realize theres really not enough room in your 100 card deck for multiple strats imho.
I also play competitive tables once a month with my buds so I assume that influences my casual decks too

I don't think they will ban him.The extra cost of sacrificing creatures puts a lot more effort on what you have to set up early. Griselbrand was just entomb+Reanimate, this guy needs that much support, plus he needs a token producer or a board big enough to get rid of to grab your combo. Earliest I see that happening is turn 4 or 5, plus an extra turn to actually play your combo.

He feels really win more. You rarely need more than 2 cards to combo out, and all that effort of reanimating him, getting him to yard, getting the creatures you need to sacrifice...

You could literally play shitty tutors like Diabolic and Beseech the Queen instead and receive better results. And when it comes to better tutors like demonic/vampiric there is no contest.

I'm confused. Where does Scarab god say anything about paying life? He hits your opponents, but nothing to you.

And his ability can hit your opponents' grave, so thats nice.

Other two good UB zombie commanders are Gisa and Geralf and then Grimgrin. Gisa and Geralf is pretty good, giving a reanimation once a turn. Grimgrin is a sac outlet with some removal.

Then Scarab is a pseudo reanimation engine at instant speed that can target your opponents' graveyard. He also hurts your opponent while scrying. Only real problem is he will put a target on you, since people dont like losing a handful of life a turn. Will that stop me from playing him? Probably not.

With at least 5 swamps and just 2 other creatures and no extra mana you can go:

It's not always better because the cards have to be exactly CMC=X

So if you cast it for X=4 and only have 2 CMC=4 cards in your deck then you only get to grab those two and if those two have the same name then you only get to grab 1, you don't get to grab less than cards.

Then you absolutely need Rings of Brighthearth.

It makes infinite mana with Basalt Monolith and has insane synergy with a lot of the other cards that you want to be playing such as Voltaic Key (you can go infinite with Rings+Key+ a big enough Everflowing Chalice), Clock of Omens, Academy Ruins, Mindslaver, etc.

Mirrorworks is a bit of overkill but it's fun and worth running. There's nothing like chaining mana rocks into more mana rocks and casting a Gilded Lotus that you tap to make mana to pay for a Mirrorworks copy of the Gilded Lotus.
