The camera takes a picture, then an internal program converts what it sees on the license plate into letters and numbers, which are then fed into a database.

Most of /tg/ will agree that bad railroading, the kind that replaces player agency with passive cinematic-like storytelling, is terrible and defeats the purpose of even having players in the game. However good railroading is the kind that is almost invisible. The invisible railroad is the one that only the DM can see. In the best of scenarios, the players are laying the tracks themselves without even realizing it to get from Point A to B.
