First for remove kagh!
Are there any alternate timelines in Beta Canon where the Romulans conquer earth?
>>53852714
Less conquest and more mutually beneficial allegiance. The romulans show up just after WW3 and give humanity a krogan uplift...
>We'll get you off your post-apocalyptic Mad Max-themed radioactive deathworld in exchange for your service as out mercenary soldiers.
...and weaponized them against the vulcans.
By TNG era, humans had gotten a lot more societal power, if only because we bred faster than once every seven years so we were beginning to outnumber the native romulans and pull off a Merkel's Mistake conquest on them.

There's that one time where Sisko went back in time and fucked with the timeline. The Defiant was protected from temporal changes and they detected Romulan signals from Alpha Centauri.
There's also a book where the Romulans screw with the timeline so the Vulcans end up in charge of a much smaller Federation. Pretty much just so that one Romulan Commander could get with Spock.
>>53853065
That's basically what the Founders did with the Jem'Hadar, but with less genetic engineering.
>>53853065
I don't think the Romulans do the whole Pon Farr thing. If anything they act like turbo sluts a lot of the time.

So Earth never developed space travel on account of a single civil rights protest? Seems a tad extreme?
>>53856799
you're talking about that one TOS episode where McCoy saved a hippe activist that made Hitler win the war and never bother with space?
>>53856799
Well the only way they developed warp travel in the first place is because some guy converted a nuke into a space ship after a world war, and then happened to fly that ship at light speed when an alien survey ship happened to be in the area. Any number of factors could've changed history, such as maybe Cochrane was killed in a later riot, or the increased civil unrest led to the US losing WW3, or even they developed warp travel but it was delayed just long enough that they encountered the Romulans first instead of the Vulcans.
>>53856859
The DS9 episode where Benjamin Sisko helps precipitate a major civil rights movement on Earth that ultimately leads to major reforms in the US. Your example is good too, though.
>>53856859
trufax: there really were anti-war activists in the United States that opposed intervention in World War II to that degree. to the point where a constitutional amendment made some decent headway:

most of those voices went pretty silent after Pearl Harbor happened, tho.
I'm pretty new to the whole painting minis thing, but I saw on Modiphius' website that they had a preorder for some models and I'd be stoked to paint some trek stuff. I've been searching with no luck for other star trek minis. Surely there must be more? I'm looking on ebay at the FASA stuff but they don't have much
>>53858832
Nah, most Trek minis are ships. You'll find loads of them.
>>53859409
Not that anon, I do have to say it's bizarre that the Modiphius line isn't including a couple of ships. I've got my FASA set, but I kind of want an Akira that isn't badly painted like the Attack Wing ones.
>>53860205
You can get an acceptable Akira from the Eaglemoss magazine line.
There's also scale models of various sizes and quality out there. Lots of resin ones that is. Kinda surprised that stuff doesn't come up here more.
>>53860205
Perhaps it's something they'll consider in the future
