I think one important thing people are forgetting about Melee in Starfinder is that there will be tons of options to counter it.

Flash Bang, Ice, and Sticky grenades.

Tasers and bean bag shotguns.

Countless Proximity Mines next to explosive vehicles.

Melee is strong, but getting to it seems like a bad idea unless you unlock teleporting.

Type up (or copy/paste) in advance all the spells you know. Or are likely to prep, if you're a cleric/druid/etc. Have a column that tracks how many instances of that spell you have prepped. Have another column that shows how many you've cast. A third column, that's prep'd minus cast. Somewhere up at the top, take the sums of your prepared column in the "Xth level spell" range. If you want metamagic, just add columns for your MM feats or add new spell entries.
Now all you need to do is slap numbers in boxes, and can prep spells in seconds.

Look up the Wayfinder item. It's an item that extends the functionality of ioun stones and forces the little bastards to do their job from a pocket instead of while annoyingly floating around you.

Read down the page. To get Weapon Focus, insert any Opalescent White Ioun Stone. A cracked one is X dollars and grants weapon familiarity in the keyed weapon.
