focusing makes you very good at a role, but have holes in your strategy. that's good for game balance because it means the GM can arrange for other characters to shine, and it fits literature that's all about mages being focused specialists like summoners and necromancers or whatever.

Th Hybrids are only superfluous because their full-caster counterparts tend to be superior already in Core, especially the Divine Casters

Really, if Cleric and Druid had been built less beefy/gishy, the Warpriest and Hunter would've been perfectly justified.

Also, Arcanist is how Wizard should've been from day one.

Really the only Hybrids that feel superfluous are Swashbuckler and Shaman (even though its one of my favs), since they bring nothing really good or new to the table. Also, Brawler is almost superfluous thanks to the UC Monk, and is barely saved by Shield Champion and the fact that Martial Artist archetype is incompatible with UCMonk

Since the hunter has martial weapon proficiency it can be significant. A dwarf hunter going from a 1d10 dwarven waraxe to 2d8 is getting 3.5 higher damage on average, or about 1d6 like you said, but when you add that to an actual size increasing effect it starts adding up quick. It's unfortunate that they nerfed Animal Soul since that used to be a great hunter feat.

Do you have a spec school?

Typically that helps decide your spell build at the start. You would really do best to grab sleep, color spray, mage armor, and magic missile at level 1. It lands you with everything you really need to begin, but then you can use your extra spells to pick stuff that might be interesting to you.

I would say swashbuckler more than Bard song. A duelist and a true gish with great flexibility, utility, heavy status effects (buffs and debuffs especially), surprising bursts of damage were always hallmarks of the Red Mage depending on what game you played.

In FFXI they were one of the few classes able to solo some world bosses via debuffs and buffing themselves into the stratosphere. In other games they would get stuff like Dual Spell to chain cast nasty damage spells together though most classes stole this feature for themselves for maximum cheese and in general they've always been decent at poking with a variety of melee weapons.

To some extent, yes, but she mostly spent her time being a literal healslut and raising children. Nobody had names, just "Geneseed" and a number. To some extent they were taught to use magical power and whatnot, in order to test their abilities to see who was the better bred individual.
She had trouble with names, and kept calling people by their race in rusty common. She'd swear like a sailor in elven and act like a stern matron disciplining her children against the party's half-elf. Having lived in isolation with only drow around her she was pretty curious about other races; when she was done healing the party's centaur Cavalier after a fight, she started examining her inside parts like it was putting on makeup.

Nonsense! All you need to do is take the Eberron approach; divine magic exists, divinity probably exists, but the nature of God and that divinity is uncertain. Level 1 get 1d6 pool strike thing that progresses +1d6 per odd level, spend arcane pool for level d6, pick element when cast, maybe provokes like normal casting, also bonus feat of either Weapon Finesse, or Power Attack
Level 2 and every even is arcana, also spellstrike
Level 3 is spell combat
Chassis gets 4+int skills, casting and proficiency with medium armor.

Pretty great, if a bit masturbatory towards the player characters who swiftly become veritable demigods. There's a moment in Book 5 featuring Iomedae (as in, the Goddess herself) showing up and bothering the PCs, but any reasonable DM with a reasonable party will never run issue with that.

Overall, I'd give it two thumbs up, if the first book was handled well and the DM acknowledges the shortcomings of Mythic in the hands of powergamers.

Just like people say Irabeth sold a Holy Avenger to buy a gender change potion for Anevia when the truth of the matter was she sold a bog-standard +2 Cold Iron Longsword for it, and the Holy Avenger they talk about (known as Radiance) was stolen by Cultists after his wielder waged a One Woman Crusade against the Worldwound.

They also like to say the book's in your face about Anevia having once been a man when, in truth, that was always a deeply buried backstory thing you'd only find out if you got engrossed enough into the character to sit down and talk it out with her.

You shouldn't go by what people say here, especially when all they're saying is "the thing's shit" without giving details. Mythic's problems are trap options and an overpowered path, the former being an issue we've had since feats were invented and the latter being quite manageable with a sympathetic caster who isn't a huge cockmunching faggot about their power fantasies.
