Just so you know, you can't use the re-roll strategem to re-roll your opponent's rolls. I know the wording makes it seem like you can re-roll anything you like, but apparently that wasn't the intention, as clarified by the lead designer of the game in pic related.

No, go ahead and do it. Chaos often mix and match bits of armour as their old suits break down in battle and they have to scavenge.

The Lord of Contagion in Dark Imperium for example has Indomitus shoulders on Cataphractii armour, the interview with the sculptor reveals he did this on purpose to represent how Chaos has to cobble their equipment together from whatever they can find.

>>
>>53738224
It's on the community site, VOX-CAST: THE SCULPTORS, less than a week old
>>
>>53738110
As balanced as it can get, there are winners and losers but a good player with a crap army can still win games.
>>
>>53738238
If you've already paid, why do you feel guilty about pirating?
>>
Rvarna or yvahra
Which do you think will be better?
Unless you think all Tide variants will suck
>>
>>53738198
It's a bit iffy depending on what army you face. 8th edition massively buffed melee armies by removing literally all of the charging restrictions from 7th.
> Everyone automatically splitfires
> Shoot any weapon at any target, followed by charging anyone you want. You are no longer required to charge whoever you shot
> Charging after disembarking from any vehicle
> Charging after disembarking from a vehicle that charged some poor bastard on the previous turn, thus locking them down for the entirety of their own turn.

Armies that can take good advantage of both the shooting and assault phase tend to do really well against armies that can only do one or the other. Orks can't take good advantage of the shooting phase(except with flamers), and Tau can't take advantage of the assault phase.

Tau are also now only slightly above average in shooting, while being SIGNIFICANTLY worse than every other faction in melee. Sure your crisis suits can disengage on a whim from melee combat, but it doesn't apply when a Contemptor with his 9" move and S14-D3 melee attacks just ripped all their suits in half and threw the now-dead pilots all the way to the opposite end of the observable universe.

On the other hand Orks don't have good shooting, so you can counter them by just kiting the poor bastards for 2 extra turns.

>>53738281
Yes? My point is why is there a 2 week delay before dispatch for 8th? It was preorderable 8 days ago, but it won't even be dispatched till next Saturday? Why was there no release this weekend? What are they doing that means they have to delay dispatch by 2 weeks?

Hey What do you think about my chaos list? My plan is to have the termies and raptors deepstrike on to the board and delete problem units with rapid fire plasma and heavy bolters. Then cast warpspeed on the units that deepstrike to make it an easy charge. I have predators in the back to fire and take out any tanks, and the bikes can turboboost and still fire their melta.
>>
>>53738306
If you follow the reply chain, you'll see my problem is why there is a 2 week delay before dispatch when it's never been that before. It's always been 1 week.

Pretty well balanced. So far there are no stand-out super broken armies or builds, except for the conscript meme. Anyone with actual game experience can tell you that an all conscript army won't be half as effective as mathematical averages might suggest.
They'll be great as a screening unit for a real IG army, but nowhere near as game-breaking as people here seem to think. They're just overreacting because foot hordes are actually useful for once.

Odd, I've never posted or even browsed /r/music, reddit is a fucking shit. I get all my music recommended from other metalheads, as well as anything youtube mix throws at me that I think sounds good.
>>53738568
I only have a small set of their songs, like there's only two of their songs on my mp3 player. The vast majority of my collection is a combination of Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, and a smidgeon of other miscellaneous bands to mix the sound up and provide some decent cushion between heavier tracks. I don't like to listen to multiple Power Metal tracks back to back, same with Death Metal, they need other kinds of tracks to keep things varied and interesting.

>>53738589
I would always recommend Blind Guardian to absolutely anyone. You should especially look into some of their earliest tracks(such as from the 1980s) when they were going through their "Hair metal" phase, and having just left their days of early-era black metal.
>>
Do most people who play 40k pretty much stick with one faction the entire time they play? The prices of even one army are so high that it seems like you kinda have to stick to one faction. Looking at e.g. miniwargaming's people they pretty much all stick to one or two factions, and they do this for a living.
>>
>>53738600

>>53738589
Not super great for noise marines because for some reason I think a bit of synthetic mixed in would be best due to the sonic guns. My friend had a little bass cannon sound bite on his phone he played when he fired his blast masters rofl.

If they ever go back to glam metal marines then a band I think is rad and ridiculous is The Sword. It's not for everybody, but give cloak of feathers a listen. Fair warning, the music video is pretty shit.

Oh, and Genestealer cults. It's really all up to preference. I've always been the kind of guy who wants to try a little of everything

All well and good. But listening to music that's GW approved is like putting the jingle for a commercial among the tracks you listen to. It's... not cool.

Slayer is honestly shit. It's very light on the technical side of metal, and has no true roots in any other previous masters. They're a trend-setter in their own genre, but are otherwise one of the worst examples I could possibly give. At least mention what kinds of genres you listen to on your commute to the gamestore.

>>53738699
I meant Dragonforce, I'm well aware that they're considered a 'meme band'. Which is pretty unfortunate because I actually like the Speed Metal genre, but it's completely dead and has no good music if you aren't willing to listen to their one good band.

I have the entirety of Realms of Chaos(Bolt Thrower) though, as well as Deceiver of The Gods(Amon Amarth). I also have Symphony of Enchanted Lands 2(Rhapsody of Fire), and Nightfall in Middle Earth(Blind Guardian). All original CDs, except for NiME, which I gifted to a friend for his birthday. The only thing I have left of that album is the direct-from CD rips on my mp3.

My buddy has stuck with his guard his whole life, and has a bunch of everything. When a new ruleset rolls around and we're scrambling to find our favs he just iterates and rolls out whatever's the hotness.

Trawling through forums for rumors. Some people talk with FW people to find out approximate release dates. Another got an early email notification for it by mistake it seems.
Supposedly it was retooled to launch with 8th, and 8 is well here. I think it was supposed to be a digital launch so I wouldn't expect the massive buildup or run up to a physical launch.

That's great and all, except that Blind Guardian is completely unknown to any and all normies. The only people I speak to that even know the band exists are other metalheads that already listen to similar genres, and are widely considered to be social outcasts. At least where I live in the middle of fucking redneckistan 'murika. Even youtube won't speak of it since it has nothing in common with any of the normie bands that entry-level metalheads listen to. Legacies of Glory in general and both versions of Secutarii.

The former were cool ways to add a lot of variety and flavor to a vehicle and I hope they stick around in some form or another. I can see them getting axed or entirely reworked though since 8e is pretty stringent when it comes to special rules.
The latter is a mixed bag however. I like the both units but their rules were both pretty horrible, albeit for opposite reasons. Hoplites were pretty damn expensive for what they were while Peltasts, no matter how much I wanted to deny it, were ungodly OP for how cheap they were. I hope both units are much more balanced in 8e because I really like the models and I want to use them to guard the Knight I'm thinking about getting.

I actually have met a shithead kid that bought $2000+ of models every month. He was like no more than 13 years old, and his mom dropped him off at the store with a credit card and didn't come back until the store closed. He was a shithead that cheated on the rules, fudged his list numbers, and even used loaded dice(some mixed in with the regulars, some kept in his pockets for important rolls).

That being said, I'm curious as to what the 'fun level' is of necrons. For much of this game's history, they've been relegated to the "Neither fun to play as, or against" category of armies. Do they still occupy that niche in 8th edition?

So 4x player makes you think of normies. and you say "fucking no one" when you only mean normies?

Do you also think of polar bears when you hear 'cat', and call 16 wheelers pickup trucks?

I live in REDNECKISTAN. Understand this, absolutely everything is "satanic" where I live. Kids aren't allowed to watch pokemon or power rangers, or play D&D, or listen to absolutely any kind of music that wasn't either country or 'christian'. Where I live, absolutely anyone who listened to even the 'entry level' metal bands is considered a sinful degenerate that needs to be ostracized and banned for life from any sort of significant social engagements. If it has a guitar hooked up to an amplifier, it's satanic. End of discussion.

So yes, where I live, blind guardian isn't a normie band. Normie bands in redneckistan play acoustic guitars while they croon over jesus.
>>
>>53739303
Never said impreasive just said possible and i do agree with you. Personally id prefer to run them bare bones at 67pts and have the worlds greatest distraction
>>
>>53739313
With that collection, you've got enough fast-moving stuff to run down things before they get more than two turns of shooting-barring memes, of course. Maybe one unit of thropes in with the prime and two blobs could work, but i dunno whether itd be better than just more warriors. Between the Swarmlord kamikazeing into whatever he can reach and the Shrikes tying up priority targets, i feel most enemy shooting would be blunted pretty quickly.
>>
>>53739302
This is basically what I've been trying to fucking say. Normie preteens on 9gag have adopted """classic""" metal and essentially turned it into the new scenecore in their effort to be as pseudo-counterculture and le wrong generation as possible.

I lived in Redneckistan, it's shit. That's also small shit towns that aren't where large amounts of people live. In actual cities metalheads are normies, it's just the music they listen to. Unless they act like a cunt about it most places don't give a shit.
>>
>>53739159
I'm honestly not sure. I can't seem to figure out what's really good in the book. Our things that have strong, reliable shooting (Destroyers, Tomb Blades) are extremely expensive. Troops with RP seem good until you go against an army with really strong shooting at which point they just kinda die and don't have much impact on the game because they're slow as hell. The vehicles are pretty solid but again expensive.

We got a lot of boosts and a lot of setbacks.
>The things Crons sucked against, aka Deathstars and Superheavies/Gargantuans, are dead.
>RP is now way worse than before
>Still don't deal damage in the amounts that other armies do
>Most foot units are still too slow, and even slower now with mostly 5"

The main issue we always had and continue to have, is that we have really good basic guns and a couple very expensive heavy guns, but we don't have any Special or Heavy options for most units. Warriors have Bolters++, but we don't have Missile Launchers, Lascannons on reasonably priced dudes, Plasma, Flamers, Grav, Melta, etc. So while we win in attrition because our basic guns >>> your basic guns, our answer to Rock is often "well Necrons don't really have a Paper but our Rock is slightly bigger. But the change to RP means that we don't attrition as good.

It's an odd time. We're not bad but the game is still shaping and it's hard to say if we're good.
>>
So whats some good shit to put in a drop pod? Devastators or Deathwatch seem to be nice but what else? Company Veterans?
>>
>>53739363
I wouldn't classify a place that disallows pokemon as being any indication of 'normie', for the sheer fact that Pokemon Go got to ultra normie status within a month and is generally seen as a super normal kid thing and a normal thing to have some nostalgia for.

Sounds like where you live is just weird.

No, I'm from Jacksonville. Both the largest city in north america, and simultaneously one of the least populated cities. It's also universally reviled as one of the most boring places in the world to live. It's a whopping 2 hour journey by highway going 80 mph to get from one side of the city to the other, and 99% of it is semi-rural "Small town" nonsense that barely even qualifies as city life. I can even count on two hands the number of 40k players that live in jacksonville.

So, Just got done with my first game of 8th edition 40k. Since we only have the piecemeal rule books and the Indexes, we just threw together some lists and fought to kill. From experience, this is what I've found:

Skitarii are in a weird spot, but their loss of relentless really made things weird. Their special weapons are good, but not as good as prior, and the faction on a whole has been reworked in a very strange way. Arc Rifles are better at tackling Medium infantry, while Cavaliers are a bit weaker due to their loss of a shot.

My list looked like this:
1 Onager/w Laser, Stubber, and a Stubber
1 Dominus/w Vulkite and Macrostubber
5 Sicaran Infiltrators/w Goads/Flechettes
1 Dragoon
30 Vanguard (3 Arc Rifles, 3 Plasma)
6 Acolytes
1 Inquisitor/w Power Armor, Power sword and Plasma pistol

Inquisition is way worse, and works better on their own as a Plug-in Psyker, as a way to help deny enemy psykers, or cast Smite. They do also help with Moral quite a bit. The way plasma works really fuck's with their one advantage, being that they have 3 wounds a pop, which is actually pretty good.

Neutron lasers are a god-send against Armor, and two of them will easily wreck the day of any tanks outside of Monoliths or Land Raiders. The Sicarian Infilitrator's loadout really depends on what you're fighting; Once again, Hordes will suffer against Flechettes and Goads, but they seriously suck against anything +3. Dragoons are decent; If they get into melee, they will hurt, but they work best in packs it would seem.

Canticles are fairly useful; Not exactly as good as the old canticles or doctrines, but re-rolling 1's and adding one strength can be really good. Plus, if properly set up, Electromancer can actually be a bit of a ace up the sleeve if your really stuck in.

All in all, a lot of things have been changed, but we're not all bad.

When determining damage from multiple wounds, do you roll once for all the damager or each one individually? For example if I wounded twice with a weapon that does d3 damage, do I roll 1 d3 and both of the wounds do that much damage, or or 2 d3

>No, I'm from Jacksonville.
...

OOOOHHHHH boy did you just fuck up, boy. You done fucked up.

Hello, Anon. Somebody else from the 904 area code here. And I'm here to tell you that YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT!!! Jacksonville is a lot of things, and granted it's close to Georgia but it's a FAR CRY from REDNECKISTAN

Especially when you got the plethora of niggers and their shenanigans up on the North side.

Where the fuck do you live in "Jacksonville"? Some shitkicker neighborhood on in the West side? That's got to be it because that's the only part of Jacksonville that comes anywhere close to what you described and even then it's just a matter of hopping on the Interstate and It's not fucking 2 hours to head over the St. Johns River to get into civilization (granted, it's 45 minutes one way).

You are a drama queen over-exaggerating what's going on in his existence and you need to get out more often. There's no way you graduated high school yet, and you use your own anecdotal experiences at home and your school and think all of Jacksonville is like that when it's FUCKING NOT. If you ever get a car of your own, you'd know what the fuck I was talking about. Just do a Google Map search for "Jacksonville, FL" and look at all the places you haven't been to yet.

>I can even count on two hands the number of 40k players that live in jacksonville.

You mean your school? Because I count much more:

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Games-Workshop-Deerwood-Village
http://www.coolstuffgames.com/jacksonville/
http://www.yourfriendlylocalgamestore.com/
And don't forget BorderLands

...and you can add me to the list of people you know who play 40k

Are you up for a game next weekend? I'm supposed to get my books next Friday
>>

From what I can gather of crons right now...

Mandatory always is a 20 warrior, 10 immortal, 1 O-lord. Prob do another 10-20 warriors or 10 more immortals.

Heavy guns seem to be a debate: either go 1 triarch stalker and 2 Dday arks or the equivalent points of destroyers/heavy/d-lord

There's talk of shenanigans of deciever/lychguard/flayed ones porting in and fucking shit up

Stinking shit tier is spyder and command barge

Also, thinking about making a 200$ purchase, but I'm really not sure: If I want to boost my Admech army, I'm thinking about doing this:

Box of Kastellans
Box of Sicarians
Start Collecting! Admech

So that comes out perfectly to 200$

But, if I want to chip in about 5$ more, I could get:

A Start Collecting! Dark Eldar
1 Box of Scourges
2 Boxes of Wych's
1 Raider

This comes out to 205$, but with no prior army. Still, it would be pretty slick to paint and build.

As for my other army, Necrons, If I wanted to be cheap, I could actually nab some pretty easy additions to my army:
3 boxes of Lynchguard
1 box of Wraiths
1 box of Immortals.

and that comes out to 179$

Any thoughts?

In fluff? A dreadnought will be treated in a similar manner to a commissar in that they are outside the chain of command and their advice will be heeded by everyone, including the chapter master. In general they do not command but rather share their experience.

Novamarines have an HQ dreadnought but that might change come Forgeworld Index.

>and adding one strength can be really good
Really? I find that one is useless a lot of the time
most of our melee is in the sweet spot of even mid-high numbers
going from s6 to s7 does nothing for infiltrators unless their attacking medium tanks (which arc rifles are so much better at)
going from s8 to s9 does nothing for dragoons, unless your attacking heavy tanks (which neutron lasers are so much better at)
rust stalkers are fishing for 6s to wound so don't care about their strength (which is why transonic blades are lame)
and power sword infiltrators would do better against marines with that canticle, to be fair, but thats about the only use.

I'm sure the evaluation of +1s works different for cult mech, but from a purely skitarii point of view, I have yet to chose that canticle.

How do I make a lightning orb effect that does not look like ass?
>>

South-west side. My neighborhood is roughly 80% niggers, and my Tuesday commute is frequently interrupted by hordes of hundreds of tiny nigglets jumping out into the road.

Saturdays at the FLGS on Roosevelt?
I just started going back to the FLGS after a long hiatus. Rod kicked me out of the geedubs since I was trying to play 8th edition games on the 2nd, which was like 15 whole days before the game is even released. But yea, I'm planning on being there Tuesdays and Saturdays. I'm normally also there on sundays and wednesdays, but that's when I DM a pathfinder campaign.

Try doing this
> Paint abaddon black
> Highlight with leadbelcher as one middle dot, and some lines snaking out.
> Use Soulstone Blue. Your abaddon black and leadbelcher is the pre-highlight that gives it its definition

Sorry of this is a dumb question, but what can I reroll with the command re-roll?

Straight lines don't really work for lightning. Neither do thick lines. You're going to want to work with small amounts of thin paint just on the tip of your brush and be really gentle with it, doing a little streak at a time almost like you're trying to make it look cracked.
>>
Another question.

How far can you take counts as, in your opinion?

I can't play Kill Team with the models I do have right now, and I can't play normal 40K either. So I'm thinking of doing a shitton of counts as and hoping for the best.

YEAH BUT IT LOOKS COOL HEY
>>
>>53739664
But yea.. I do actually have a car, which I drive across St. Johns every weekend to the geedubs, and I carpool with some of my party members for pathfinder.

What army do you have? I probably know exactly who you are if you say what it is.
>>
>>53739642
Should I take any ranged upgrades for my raveners? Their role is to get in a charge as soon as possible and not worry about shooting correct?
>>
>>53739881
Nope, GW confirmed it can't be used on your opponent's dice. I'm not scrolling through the comments to cap it but it was their answer when directly asked.

As long as you can remember what it counts as, and don't mind writing it down for my benefit, you can literally counts as anything. I'll play a heavily painted army of nids against your collection of stapler tanks, plastic army men conscripts, and old DnD miniature commisars.

>>
>>53740118
You get them in addition to all the arms. The weapon option is actually represented by the Ravener's torso, which either has spikes or a hole that 'shoot'.

So you don't give up any CC ability. The alternatives are the Deathspitter, which is strong, but way to pricey for something that wants to be in combat as much as possible, and the Devourer, which is 1 more point for 1 more strength and 1 less shot, and also loses out on the Pistol utility.

Even for dedicated assault units I think the points for spinefists could be worth it. A squad of 9 costs about the same as a squad of 8 with spinefists, but you trade off those 5 S 4 attacks hitting on 3s for 36 S 3 attacks hitting on 4s. Not a bad tradeoff, especially since you can shoot something other than your intended charge target to help clean things up.
>>
>>53740184

Reading some of the Tyranid entries right now and I keep seeing these tail weapons on the monstrous creatures and some say that one of your attacks MUST be with this weapon but the weapons profile is garbage compared to their other normal weapons.

Why did GW do this exactly? Some of the MC's can't even have the option of not taking the weapon.

Like let's take the Tyrant for example. It has a prehensile pincer tail. It has no benefits to strength, no ap and does d3 damage. Now the monstrous scything talons have -3 ap and do d6 damage. That's a lot of potential damage you're giving up because you have to dedicate one attack to that useless tail.

I might be missing something here but I'm pretty confused.
>>
>>53740773
It depends on which system you're using
> Power Points
You only pay for the points listed on the sheet. This includes ALL wargear, including the ones you normally pay for. What this essentially means is that in Power Points, *everyone* is running a mini war-convocation. Both players match a set number of Power Points, and keep things as wizzywig as possible. You win by being better as a tactician, so learn your counters well, and figure out proper timing/positioning. Each individual Meganob costs exactly as much as 5 ork boyz, but the difference is that the Meganob will shred heavy armour to pieces, and tank small-arms like nobody's business, while the Boyz take on any and all infantry.

Power Points works better than Matched Points for casual games, since you can just agree with your opponent to say, "65 points", and your opponent matches it on the spot. It takes no more than a minute to setup games, and these games tend to go by quick.

The *normal* points are Matched Play. You pay for the basic dudes with no wargear of any kind, which is a nice improvement over 7th edition. That way when you buy a devastator with a Lascannon, you are no longer paying for a bolter that doesn't exist anymore. However it also makes Matched Play very unwieldy for casual play. Since you have to write out your lists beforehand, and they take about an hour to write as a direct result of how unwieldy the new points are.

>30 Cons

Eldar list themed around the whole black guardian thing
>>
>>53740953
It took me about 10minutes to create a 1500 point list in 7e or 6e.

8e has made list building significantly harder because wargear costs aren't on the same page as unit statlines which aren't on the same page as model costs. Additionally in 7e I only had to do simple math for a squad (ie ppm*squad size+upgrades) in 8e the formula for a squad is like (ppm*squad size + item1*units with it + item2*units taking it + upgrades) vehicles are made worse by this as it used to simply be x+upgrades and now you have to look up every single piece of wargear on the vehicle and every single weapon on it to determine the initial price before you go upgrading it.

8e really fucked up when it came to organizing the indices. Some codex layouts were very efficient once you knew what a unit could do and didn't need to look up their rules and only needed points costs for models/upgrades. Now they don't even give you the decency of listing their wargear on the same fucking page as their points costs.
>>
>>53741100
or you could just use the 40k list builder

>>

>>
>>53741161

>>
>>53741100
It's not that difficult.

You put a tab on the points cost page, a tab on the wargear list page, and then go to your unit entry and flip back and forward as needed using your tabs. By your third or fourth list you shouldn't even have to look up half the shit, you'll have it memorized already.

The memes are becoming dumber because people are moving towards a post-post-ironic phase. After how badly burnt out memes were post-2016 with Pepe being reclaimed from the normies and then slowly being bled back into their realm again, a lot of people are just sick of really putting emphasis into the "original" part of the original content. These days I just shit out OC that I think will be provocative. Pic related never fails to gather (You)s. Do I actually believe a single word of it though? Not a chance lol.
>>
>>53741428
Yep, 4chan has devolved into the most extreme logical conclusion of post-irony. Genuinely liking things and actually trying is not allowed, unless you disguise it behind self-aware irony, memes, or the appearance of not having tried.
>>
>>53741448
It's sort of because for the last few years meme growth relied on happenings. That's why people here care so fucking much about shitposters and attention whores in this thread, even if it's a one time shtick like that stupid chink, it's our own mini version of a happening, or at least it's as close as we'll ever actually get.

The problem is not that no one has ideas, it's that memes just aren't fucking catching on at all. You need an actual event to push the meme and turn it into a proper idea in the minds of the collective. Meanwhile old memes are slowly being devoured by the great black hole of cancer that is reddit.
>>
>>53741359
I'll make something actually funny tomorrow when it isn't too early
>>
>>53741489
this is actually pretty accurate and not just for memes on 4chan. Why do you think so many past trends are coming back in style? Recycling shit from the 60s, 70s, now the 80s and 90s.

Our current generation is almost entirely devoid of creativity. We only produce short-lived fads that never catch on nor do they achieve "cult status" that have small, obscure but dedicated fanbases.

We're all goldfish with mere seconds attention span.
>>

>>
>>53741513
Well it's not like people in the 60s or whatever were better, it's just that culture was more cohesive back then because the media was so small.

This has to do with the overwhelming information that the internet and digital technology provides. It desensitizes the brain and causes it to only be triggered under the most extreme conditions. This leads to a culture of mediocrity. One with sinking birth rates, one with stagnating families, one with directionless people, one with an entire generation with no purpose. Why do you think NEETs are a thing? They have no goal, no true desire.

No, I'm not an anarcho-primitivist, but just think about it. Think about how much information you're bombarded with just with, say, these generals on 4chan alone, and then you'll begin to understand why nihilism and depression are the new norm.

Merely another aspect of humanity's increasing tribalism. Everybody is fighting and shouting at everybody who is even a little bit different, or has a little bit different view on things. Where the fuck do I find weapons for my Guardsmen? I need some plasma guns for my Hakaroni Tempestus Scions.

Honestly, GW should start selling weapon upgrade kits or something.

You could use the plasmagun set with 5 of them for marines GW sells. Just cut off the marine hand attached to it and glue it to a flashlight guardsman.

Did mozart's poems dominate the entertainment industry as well as the minds of the people? Were the Greeks' oneliner jokes representative of their entire range of humor?

The shows you mentioned are highly subjective in quality (personally I could not despise teleivion programs like that enough), and scientific advancement isn't the point here, in fact part of what's to blame is the either intentionally malignant manipulation of science to promote such decadence or a cultural black hole that we have dug ourselves into.

Literacy was not as widespread in Mozart's time, and I'd hardly say Vines are dominating entertainment any more than say, knock-knock jokes were.

Humankind has always had short snippets of comedy as a frequent form of entertainment alongside the grand epics. It's just that most people are average people, and not paid writers, and thus don't have the time to put in more than those basic short jokes.

The fact that more people are literate now, combined with how widespread and accessible internet access is, means that now instead of a portion of the population being able to share a joke with their friends or write something dirty on a bathroom wall, now nearly everyone can shout their joke to the heavens and nearly everyone else can hear it if they listen.

It's not that human culture has somehow gone downhill or gotten worse. It's just that now you can hear every single one of those random oneliners every minute of every day.

So because cheap entertainment is wildly available, that somehow counters the existence of creativity? please you speak like someone with no clue as to what is going on. Penny theaters were extremely popular during the Victorian era, and dominated the cultural zigiest, along with great works of science and culture. however, cheap and easy humor is rarely remembered by the history books, so anyone who dosent actually look at history would think that only great creative works existed.
also,
>scientific advancement isn't the point here

>It's just that now you can hear every single one of those random oneliners every minute of every day.
Do you not realize that it's exactly that which makes it so much worse than the past? It's not just culture which is vapid, it's also the fact that the easy accessibility of all this information could very easily be used to make it even more shallow, or to project false facades of meaning.
>>
>>53741713

So be a more meaningful person. You are part of culture. By imparting something original you enrich the whole collective. The people who bitch about it like you are only a single step up from the vapid ones you complain about.
>>
>>53741728
You're missing the point. It's not about creativity as a whole. It's about culture. Or rather, the culture that ties into entertainment.

Penny theater was nowhere near as disgusting sexualized or obscene as the average ghetto vine or youtube video. It was shallow, stupid humor, yes, but it was not degrading basic human decency. No one is debating that culture has always had shallow aspects. That is a dead argument. We are debating how much of the shallowness truly dominates our society, and how negative that shallowness actually is.
>>
>>53741740
It's not just the internet. The fact that you choose to focus on the idea that this is some sort of 9gag le wrong generation mentality is probably an indicator that you're not worthy of discussing this or any other topic with.

Ironic how you rely on logical fallacies and then spout "YOU JUST GOT #DESTROYED TAG YOUR FRIENDS TO TOTALLY #DESTROY THEM TOO" as if it's some sort of trump card in an argument. You literally tried to bring up "horseshoe theory" again like it was a defense after I just got done telling you that had nothing to fucking do with it at all, this wasn't about nuances of political philosophy, it was about how you emotionally behave in the same reactionary manner as the people who I can tell just from your transparently parroted arguments about society you consider to be political opposition. The picture you just responded with proves you didn't understand what I was saying because it attacks the exact problem with "horseshoe theory" that doesn't figure in any way into what I was saying.

So nevermind, I'm not going to continue trying to make a point to you because you're already, in your mind, arguing with something totally different than what I'm actually trying to communicate.
>>
>>53741829
And where did I imply that the status quo will maintain?

That's arguably the dumbest possible thing I could say. No, I'm a strong believer that change is coming, and I intend to make sure it comes sooner than later, and in the form that I see to be most beneficial.
>>
>>53741835
>it was about how you emotionally behave in the same reactionary manner as the people who I can tell just from your transparently parroted arguments about society you consider to be political opposition
Which literally is what horseshoe theory is. "All reactionaries have the same basic ideology and general method of functioning" is literally the entire concept of horseshoe theory.

You're basically saying A, and when I point out that it directly translates to B, you deny it because of the negative connotations associated with B. Sad.

people have been getting freer and less repressed since the 20's. we now challenge our politicians in ways that were unthinkable 100 years ago. I can have relations and marry whomever i please, without the state intervening. I can have non-sexual relation ships with members of the opposite ex without my girlfriend getting paranoid, or my parents asking when i plan to ask her out (pro tip, THIS is something very recent)
the sexual revolution has also allowed men to addressing their feeling and talk though them instead of repressing them, especially in the cases of trauma

So what exactly kills Necrons? Specifically Warriors. They are basically Space Marines and you get 20 for the cost of 10 tactical marines.

So far I have had trouble doing anything to them as once you lock combat with one, you kill like 3 - then that group falls back and suddenly his other three units rapid fire any of my melee units.

And in range they are just straight up better than most ranged units with the -1 AP and insanely consistent 3+ to hit, usually 3+/4+ to wound.

The best I got done was using Stormboyz to try to whap them to death and use the consolidation to encircle them, but I need a complete circle otherwise they always seem to get out.

In the Chaos index, on the entry for the Chaos Rhino, the optional wargear list says 'havoc launcher and/or combi weapon'

From the wording I assume you can take a havoc launcher and a combi-weapon, but it doesn't say it replaces the original combi-bolter

So where the fuck does the extra combi-weapon go on the model?

The other hatch next to the other pintle mount.

Personally, I preferred the old wording where you could get the basic combi-bolter, a second combi-bolter, a combi-weapon of the other 3 types, and a Havoc launcher if you really wanted.
