(I don’t know much about this world but I really like the jump so hopefully I get stuff right)

I hate killing, I hate war and yet I keep finding myself in the middle of things. Normal humans have an ability to stop considering the enemies as humans, it’s really the only way most people can fight a war. After a while jumpers loose that luxury. We have been on too many sides we know if but for the toss of some cosmic coin we could be fighting for the other guy.

This war began for us on an Island on the southern coast. It was small and lightly guarded. My companions and I could have taken it in a single night but we needed to include the small band of revolutionaries in this and show them they could win.

Our Motley band took the island over in a single night and the wizard brought us a couple hundred soldiers as back up… We were going to need them.

Apparently the Queen wasn’t a complete idiot, even though the island meant nothing to the empire, it meant hope to the people she was oppressing and that was something she had to snuff out.

A huge army soon was set upon us. Like a massive storm it swept over us. We suffered heavy casualties but we managed to rout the army with out of context power. We had to show more than I wanted but we beat back their demons, dragons and undead.

From there we went on the attack going on the mainland taking towns and cities as we went, our armies growing… growing so much in fact that we soon had to split up and take separate locations at the same time… this meant splitting from my companions.

There is an old saying about not splitting the party but we had little choice.

While we were fighting a war, there was a separate one brewing within our ranks. Adam Jensen has been one of my oldest and loyalist friends on this journey… However he did not trust or like Doom-chan in the least. He always felt like she was going to turn on us and stab us in the back.

It didn’t help that Doom had taken more of a secondary leadership role and fallen in to her old heavy handed tactics of leadership. This lead to me having to have a conversation about it with her ( I knew I was probably the only one she would listen to) She again thought I was foolish since we had a war to win but agreed to relent.

I wound up having to Split Adam and Doom to make sure they were in separate parts of the army.

Things seemed to be going as well as can be expected, it was still a war, lots of blood letting and killing. I was grateful I had left my daughters out of this, they didn’t need to be a part of this ugliness.

It was around this time I heard my wives muttering about Doom chan and my relationship with her. Apparently Arcueid, Tamamo and Yubel were concerned with as close as we had grown… Akitsu was happy about it and looking forward to adding her to our big happy family… maybe that was more troubling. I knew I would pay for it later but I chose not to dive in to that mine field while there was still a war to win.

In our journeys we defeated some scarcrow monsters that were terrorizing the countryside, we also captured the witch creating them. The people she had terrorized put her on trial but just after the death sentence was handed out I realized that she was actually an innocent girl being possessed by an evil spirit. I banished the spirit from her and managed to talk down the people through a small miracle. Bardic BS at it’s best. Anyways she told us she had learned a little magic in her time of being possessed and wished to help us. She also threw herself at me wishing to thank me for freeing her. I had to turn her down cold here. Though I did begin setting about training the girl in magic.

Years passed and kingdoms fell to our rebellion until all that was left was the capital and our meeting with the Black queen herself. None of us really knew what we had in store for us.

We marched on the capital to be met with a huge army of demons, dragons, undead and monsters of every type. It turned in to a brutal and bloody battle but at the end we emerged triumphant but as I was about to strike her down I noticed the Black Queen herself was being controlled.

Instead of killing her I freed her and the true mastermind, her court wizard (of course) revealed himself.

A single wizard against Two armies seemed to be a done deal but he used his own blood to summon something… something big and angry. Apparently he summoned the king of the underworld a creature that could have taken both armies…

It was Huge and it strong A being like a god of this world… and yet we stepped on it like a bug. There was no more holding back or trying not to abuse our powers. This thing caught the full brunt of a Jumper and their 8 companions.

After defeating the King of the Underworld, the Queen abdicated her Throne in shame. They tried to give the crown to me but it had taken enough out of me just freeing the continent. I turned it down.

watched a few episodes of aldnoah zero and the Martians so far seem like self entitled cunts. How to knock them down a peg?

40K is Psykers opening their mind to the Warp, which is a parallel dimension. Depending on the skill & power of the Psyker determines how much of the Warp they can call forth safely.

Fantasy is different because Magic is basically the mage grabbing hold of magical wind which come from the poles. The poles are chaos wastes which are direct & open portals to the warp.

There's no risk for Fantasy mages to summon demons by accident. However there is possibility of them exploding from drawing in too much magical wind.

So naturally right after the most sobering experience I've had on the chain so far, I'm put in a world that's all about striving to become stronger to fulfill one's desires. It starts with a theme of 'hard work can overcome anything' and then promptly shoots that lesson in the face several times as those without a magical kaiju in their bodies or a special bloodline tend to be left completely in the dust. I'm not any exception either, even if I was without the advantages I'm afforded here.

I decided to adopt a gimmick while going (mostly) incognito. Everyone knew I was a Senju and thus the last of a major bloodline, expected to marry ASAP. For obvious reasons, I am not okay with this and just plan to ignore all claims to the contrary. So I put on a rabbit mask and do my best Tendou Souji impression. I make quotes while citing my (dead and possibly nonexistent?) grandmother to all of it. I also jobbed a lot except where it counted - had to act the party and look like a talented ninja, but not talented enough to warrant special attention.

Of course, the woman who walks the Path of Heaven is the woman who will rule everything.

It's not super-difficult.

SupCom exponential construction technology, Ar Tonelico Sound Science, and any kind of interdimensional portal ability that can be improved (or just Doormaker), and you can pretty much make your own Shards.

An exact equivalent to the Endbringers are a bit trickier, as they're firmly based on specific dimensional bullshit - but you could emulate their durability easily enough.

There's really nothing special about them, except that they do almost everything via dimensional overlays and kinda-try to be scientific.

OCP powers bypass all that hassle. Give someone Conduit powers, and they can be their own ridiculously potent kinetic - using only their own body and brain, which is a massive improvement over a planet-spanning generator array. Turn them into a Reyvateil, and you can feed them technical skills, grathmeld/alchemy access, and powerful blaster powers.

Using SupCom, and the System Shock perk that makes your capabilities match your computing substrate, you can become a computer-mind spanning an exponentially-growing network of parallel dimensions, building your own Shards with OCP power generation and actually intelligent slave-AI to seek out targets for empowerment. Or just have an AI do all that while you laze around a beach somewhere, enjoying the results.

So, by Super Saiyan 5, you'd have...800 times your normal strength. Which is impressive. However, keep in mind that Golden Frieza had a power level of 100 quintillion, and he's still weaker then Beerus. Super Saiyan God Goku fought Beerus at 70%. Therefore, Super Saiyan God is most likely far below but still relatively close to Golden Frieza's power level. Goku went from millions/billions to that high of a number, far above what 800x would get him.

New generation of edgy anti-heroes become more popular with the public, being willing to murder criminals like the Joker and so forth, Superman retires in disgust. Their popularity wanes fast however when they start fighting amongst themselves and killing civilians in the crossfire. The old generation eventually comes back with Superman at the head to enforce order, with Superman still being a boy scout for the most part, while Wonder Woman has become much harsher and tries to get Superman to cross that line, because she thinks it is necessary. Eventually, it all leads up to most everyone dying and Superman nearly going on a rampage of revenge, only barely being talked down in time. No really, for one thing Superman coming OUT of retirement is what kicks off the events, and he's shown struggling a lot with what's happening around him. You get a feel that he's trying his best...but with Injustice you get the feeling he doesn't really care anymore and that he's forgotten his ideals.

The worms are a reference to System Shock 2, though they technically existed in the first game's time. They're SHODAN's most successful experiment, a lifeform so mutated that it can't even be recognized as descended from terrestrial biochemistry. In the time between the two games they mutate even further, becoming the Zerg, basically. They parasitize other life forms, absorb their genetics, and mutate into twisted bioweapon monsters controlled by their telepathic hive mind. Some crazy stuff, there are actually some items in the game made from reverse-engineered Many (as they call themselves) biology, could be worth taking for the research opportunity if you can keep them contained.

As for it being worth it to buy a SHODAN nerve bundle, no. No it is not. That is a trap option, anon, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or has a really weird fetish. Do not waifu the scary robot lady.

Well...that's your opinion. Certainly better than Injustice, and it was written in response to the edgy antiheroes of the 90's. Edginess is the bad guy here, as Wondy who is pro-murder is generally seen in the wrong.
Overall, I feel like it isn't really an edgy story, but one about hope. Yes, it can get dark, but I feel it's far from really...edgy.

But I can see where you may come away with that.

also I fucking hate how Luthor got away with doing that shit to poor Billy. I know killing him would be against the spirit of the comic but he deserved way more than a slap on the wrist working at Batman's hospital.
