I mainly use it to summon mindless undead and communicate with spirits if I absolutely have to. Dealing with thinking undead is a chore. It's a pretty neat way of building a workforce if there's no Cleric types around to bitch about how I'm defiling the dead.

Been thinking of specializing in necroentomology and necrobotany though.

For Marvel Magic, a god of conquest could steal power and such, shouldn't they? It seems great, but someone whose whole shtick is beating others into the ground and taking their stuff should be able to, right? And not just power, but anything that's connected to them, I'd say. Magically bound servants, personal dimensions, et al.

How is it a shitty workforce? Undead don't tire. You can have zombies pick cotton all day & all night. You can have them till the land. You just need like one necromancer for every so many zombies, to keep them on task.

Even if you don't put them to farming use. They can be used in the mines or building roads. It doesn't take a genius to lay down stone roads like the Romans.
>>
>>53395130
No. Domain isn't "free reign to create whatever OC power you want", it's "gain a few abilities broadly related to a concept". The only god or god-like entity in Marvel that can steal powers like that is Atum, the sun of an Elder Goddess and a Primordial; Amatsu-Mikaboshi, basically a universal embodiment of evil; and the Necrosword, which can only steal "power" in general, rather than anything specific. All of these are anomalies, and the abilities do not stem from their domains. All of these are considered threats to basically every god in existence. There are actually gods of conquest in Marvel and none of them display such abilities. They'd probably be extremely notable, and almost certainly likely to kill at least someome and notice their newfound strength if they could do so. Hell, find a god of conquest in actual mythology who can steal powers. I'm not sure if you can.

The same thing they did before I came along, for the most part.
Evelyn reads and manages the library. I suspect she's also writing an account of our adventures.
Natalya practices shooting, works out, and and goes on walks around the various properties.
Mera tries to teach Nat how to sword, then gets over-confident, challenges her to a gunfight, and usually loses.
Rachel reads, meditates, and practices various forms of magic.
Izumi builds things. We're usually not sure what's she's working on, but it's usually interesting when it escapes.
Just kidding, my Jumper has no companions. ;_;

>What is the best kind of skeleton?
Skeleton Robot.
Thin profile of parts bundles easily for compact storage, but skeleton motif keeps it looking cool.
>>
>>53395314
Robots break down & require people who know robotics to repair them. They're also highly dependent on manufacturing of the parts.

Golems are very expensive upfront to make. They require no maintenance but they're only crafted by artisans unless we're going the Eberron route. Look how well that worked out.

You can get undead rather easily because someone's gonna die eventually. Have some flesh eating insects to clean the bones, some sunlight to kill any bacteria. Only thing that's required is a necromancer to reanimate & control.

So… actually writing jumps is on a slow burn right now, so I’ll just start jumping like I was planning to. Actually posting it in thread now too.

In any case, we start fairly normal. The basic deal with a suddenly appearing benefactor known as Jump-Chan... On the condition that I do the jumps I wrote first. In the order I wrote them.

Gritting my teeth, knowing what is to come, I accept. At least I get the BodyMod and Warehouse beforehand with this arrangement.

Body Mod:

Build: Medium
Body type: Charmer [100]
>Stats:
Appeal 3 [50] Nice. No worries about skin or hair, ever.
Shape 2 [Free] Sounds good to me?
Sense 4 [200] Sheesh. That's pretty ridiculous.
>Perks:
Endowed x3 [Free] ...Could I just swap this for Evercleansed or Color or something?
Evercleansed [100] This. This is just amazing.
Genderswap [150] I… just think it’d be interesting.

So… I’m going to look pretty damn good. And I’m going to be clean. This is good.

I also have wildly superhuman senses. That’s the pretty cool part.

Warehouse:

>utilities:
ForceWall [20] I’m sure this’ll save my bacon at some point. Also just nice to have some peace.
GravityLink [10] This seems fun, if perhaps not the most useful? But I had 10 points left, so...
>structures:
Shelving [Free] Sure?
>miscellaneous:
Portal [30] Nice. Perhaps not the most efficient for moving big things in, but eh.
Stasis Pod x3 [60] Pods! To bring people!
Free Space [30] And now I’ve got loads of space in here.

Seems like a decent-ish base. Pretty bare, but I’ll fill it up eventually.
>>
>>53395458

Jump 1: Viscera Cleanup Detail

Aerospace Sanitation Inc. Janitor [Free] I feel like going Drop-In here is a good idea.
Age: 20 years [50] Eh, sure.
>perk:
Cleanup Detail 101 [Free] Seems important, considering I drop in.
Dr. Janitor, If You Would [300] Seems pretty good. SCIENCE! I mean, we’re in space. This is bound to be interesting, right?
What Kinda Party Was This? [100] I’m gonna NEED this, if I have to be a janitor.
Nerves of Steel [100] This can’t hurt either.
>items:
A-Series Space-Mop [Free]
MuckGyver Sniffer [Free] Sure.
R2 High Energy Plasma Laser Welder [50] I mean. A laser at jump 1. Of course I'm going to take it.
Mr. Two Million Dollars [50] At least I'll be comfortably wealthy for a while?
Keep It Secret, Keep It Safe [100] Huh. Interesting.
Big Banger Radio [50] Music's good. A little monotone to start out with though.
Slosh-O-Matic Bucket Dispenser/What-A-Load Disposal Bins Bin Dispenser [200] Useful.
X-Butanateor Incinerator [300] As is this.
>drawbacks:
…huh. None.

This... was never intended as a first jump. Which is reflected in the lackluster drawbacks.

Anyway. There’s… not much to say of my time in this place? I cleaned up whenever I got called in to another disaster zone, and got occasional reassignments to other stations. But when you’ve seen a dozen places with severed body parts and blood everywhere, the next few dozen tend to blend together.

...I do have to say that I regret putting 4 in senses. That was… not well-thought out.

In any case, I incinerated stuff, threw stuff out the airlock, had entirely too much fun with my laser, and tinkered a little with the technology here… That’s about it.

It was pretty cool, but kinda… monotone. It doesn’t really seem like the start of an epic adventure?

But I bought a crowbar with my stacks of money, and furnished my Warehouse a little. It’s still kinda bare, but the part set aside for living space is now pretty nice and cozy.

It's a neat hentai series. You might enjoy it.
>>
>>53395694
Actually, it's not an official Mario game. It's basically a fan collaboration. That's why the heroines are armless, cycloptic beings who gain power by eating vegetables, enemies like Koopas have been replaced by shell-wearing alien worms among other bizarre things, and the overall setting is highly meta.

Which is all easy to do with more robots. Do who know who makes robots knowadays? More robots. And golems don't need all that much work, just a lump of clay and some magic and boom, a tireless worker that won't break down unless attacked
>>
>>53395757
>>53395780
Huh. That's a thing.
>>
NuBee, if you are there, would it be possible to modify the Quirk Enhancing drug? As it stands it seems kind of overpriced for 600 CP, considering that what you're offering is something that thugs can get in the streets. Could removing some of its downsides be possible?

Also, how long does it last? There were various kinds of drugs of the same time in the setting, some lasting for hours (the best ones) while others just last mere minutes.

Alright, so… Canon companions, I suppose? Don’t have anyone to import yet.

Let’s see, I’m a Trolls so I’ll pick from them… Team Scourge with Vriska and Terezi of course, but then… Aradia? I do need a Time player. Let’s try and get her a robot body to blow up a bit earlier, so we can get her alive again.

...Ignore the urge to murder her again after that.

Anyway, first, prototyping… Well, I do have all these souvenirs from Cleanup. Let’s… NOT throw the facehugger in there.

In any case, my drawbacks are pretty bad… But I should be able to deal and make a decent Genesis Frog, and still have some fun. As long as I don’t fall asleep on the job.

Knowing what needs to happen, I’ll just do the Ectobiology myself. I have no idea what I’m doing there, but the way it’s set up… you really don’t need to know.

Do the quests for the game, awaken the Forge, speak to my Denizen, try and keep Vriska (and perhaps the others) from murdering theirs, die on my Questbed… Get to the Battlefield in time for the final battle with the Black King, and confront the Queen.

Just… you know, keep everyone from being stupid, and all will probably be well.

Fairly short time spend in this jump, all-in-all. But it was one HELL of a lot more exciting than the first one. I have become the Heir of Space, and created an frog-shaped universe with my friends.

Now if I could just figure out my Strife Specibus… Anything but mopkind.

Yeah, sorry about the dissonance with the items. I tried my best, but I had a lot of trouble getting enough balance between the different backgrounds, as some had far more items associated with them. For some of them, like the Koopas and Toads, they only had a few small yet memorable appearances, limiting the items I could attach to their background.

My solution was to balance things out somewhat by giving three items to each background. Problem is, some of the items are much stronger than others, so the prices are kind of variable.

It's kind of a shitty genderswap option, since you have to wait so long between uses. Like, if I'm going to be flipping my genitals all over the place, I want to do it whenever the mood strikes me. This option requires enough forethought that it sucks out all the fun.
>>
>>53396067
Evangelion and Infinite Warfare are the first to come to mind with actual tone changing. I think Overwatch and My Hero Academia have something for inspiring people to be better too? Fist of the North Star has a great perk for inspiring large-scale hope which could be useful.
>>
Since I've never played Shadowrun and don't know a whole lot about the setting, can anyone tell me what I'd be getting into if I mad a deal with a dragon?
>>
>>53396151
There is not much else to invest in the Bodymod, unless you're some kind of manlet monster.

There are better gender-swapping abilities out there, but getting the ability to pick female origins from the start without needing to be one is pretty interesting on its own.

Jump 3: Kung Fury

Viking [Free] Because why not?
Location: Nazi Germany, 1940s [Rolled] Okay then...
>perks:
Technobabble [100] Well. Why wouldn’t I get this?
Coming Down From The Mountain [Free] Not bad...
Epic Pecs [Free] Epic indeed. Goes well with my other purchases too.
Laser-Raptor Hunter [100] Not bad.
Norse God [400] I think I’ll go with fire as my element? Throwing bolts of that seems good.
Nazi Science [800] Nazi kung fu robots. Yup. I want ‘em. Maybe I can improve them a bit with janitorial science too...
Aesthetics! [200] I simply couldn’t resist the vanity purchase.
>items:
Gun [Free] Yeah, a viking minigun sounds good to me.
Clothes [Free] Sure.
The Crotchshot Pistol [300] Excellent. Just excellent. I shall enjoy using this later.
>drawbacks:
Hamtastic [+100] When in Rome...
Kung Face [+100] This is my face now.
Valley of the Laser-Raptors [+200] Well, alright then. They’re fun things, if vicious.
True Survivor [+200] It really wouldn’t be Kung Fury without them.
Kung Führer Wants To Claim The Throne [+300] And fuck Hitler. With a rusty chainsaw.

So, from a horned, green-blooded, psychic not-vampire, to a giant viking god with a minigun.

It’s a bit of a change. Still a god though, if a very different one.

And… just about everything here wants to violently murder me. Joy.

At least I can grab some peace and quiet in the Warehouse and in between the action. Also, throwing a tank in Hitler’s face after ragdolling him around with my telekinesis was... very nice. Would recommend.

Also, the ludicrously-sized minigun is just… overkill on pretty much everything I use it on. Damn.

In any case, the Trolls seem to be dealing… decently with this place? It’s more the ham that’s throwing them off, the violence is almost expected, coming from Alternia.

My Hero Academia

>Musutafu, Japan
>Student
>14 years old
Went Student as it was free and between it and Drop-In neither really help with Pillar of Peace. This way though I get to join U.A. High and earn some publicity in the Sports Festival. I figure as long as I can fight crime at night and can have operations in place during the day through proxies I should be able to keep a lid on the increased criminal activity. Then if I have to leave school early to be a symbol of hope and peace at least by that point I will already have spent a few weeks antagonizing Katsuki.

>Superficial Mutant
Dark haired male with yellow eyes as usual. Maybe an unnaturally broad grin as it'd make me more annoying and thereby empower my Quirk.

>It Might Be Destiny
Is really nice. Increases random encounters with people who need help with stuff which is a nice angle for a making friends perk.

>Push Through
Is about working when damaged and fighting through pain which should help with One For All although between Enhanced Mastery and regen stuff it's not all that necessary. Remaining focused while damaged is good though.

>Do You Ever Do Something UN-Cool!? 100
Makes people more inclined to like the cut of my jib. Pretty good for the scenario and cheap at 200 CP.

>Plus Ultra 400
Capstone based around thinking things up on the fly which is cool for heroism and fits the build nicely enough. There were Hero and Villain capstones I liked just as much but I didn't have the budget, liked the Student cheap stuff better and wanted to go to superhero school at least to start with.
>>
>>53396513
>Quirk: Stop Hitting Yourself 900
> [Affliction: Tier 1] - Absorb & Release + [Affliction: Tier 3] - Rage
My Quirk is called Stop Hitting Yourself after someone suggested the name in the IRC. I'm keeping the two components largely distinct as I like both effects but they're not all that related. Rage makes people experience lag and headaches proportional to how angry they are which gives me a pretty great counter to angry types (and there are always a lot of angry types in anime stuff). Absorb & Release lets me absorb physical blows and energy blasts and then release them (although provides no durability), with durability and regen from elsewhere though it's really nice and doesn't have a lot of downsides. Obviously the idea is to smacktalk anyone I'm fighting and if someone does manage to land a blow on me despite the lag and the migraines I can then punch them back with the additional power of their own punch. And if that wasn't annoying enough...

>Backup 1000
>Nuala: Student, Superficial Mutant, It Might Be Destiny, Push Through, Superficial Mutant, Quirk Marriage 100, [Affliction: Tier 2] - Black Cat + [Mutation: Tier 3] - Dark Shadow 600
I imported my companion and spent their entire budget on their Quirk combining Black Cat and Dark Shadow. For her though I decided they'd work well melded so from the age of four she's had a cat made of shadow following her around. When the cat's eyes glow and it scampers up to an enemy the Black Cat weakening effect starts on nearby targets causing their shit to stop working, chandeliers to fall on their head and general misfortune to occur to them. When Nuala is particularly angry, upset or anxious the cat closer resembles the Dark Shadow quirk and grows into a much larger and more feral looking shadowy cat monster at which point it proceeds to maul shit. Combined with my Quirk this all amounts to make us incredibly annoying to fight as there's a kind of feedback loop between bad luck, rage, headaches and lag.
>>
>>53396422
Well, for a CCC gauntlet, it could probably be something as simple as "help defeat The Voice and/or wake SiIva up" or something.
>>
>>53396525
Also could do with a Quirk name for hers. Currently calling it Smudge as think it'd be funny if her Quirk has a normal cat name.

>All Might Memorabilia
Is kind of nice as it means I was a huge fan of All Might before getting One For All which adds a nice story element. It's also the exact sort of tacky shit I like sticking to the wall of my Warehouse.

>Pillar of Peace
Really wasn't sure whether to take this as I wanted to do the Student angle and having watched the first series I'm invested enough in the setting that I mind making stuff worse. One For All was too much of a draw though as it's just so good. Plus it's always worth picking up whatever the shonen protagonist was supposed to get as you know there's going to be a lot of potential there.

Felt bad for Izuku so I made sure to give him a superpower and a utility belt. I was strapped for time as I needed to stop villains from getting getting a stranglehold so decided a random Gamma ray experiment (using the perk from Avengers EMH) would serve. This resulted in Izuku having a surprisingly powerful ability of generating and blasting large quantities of glowing and extremely sticky (but non-toxic) green slime out of his hands and feet. Was pretty embarassing getting thanked by a kid for giving him a power when this all started because I stole the much better power he rightfully should have had but at least he still got into UA.

I really like this jump, Quirk building is a lot of fun.

Boku no Hero is one of those difficult situations.
Where, you want to heal All Might, but you also want Deku to be the next in line for One for All.

I guess I'll just have to hold off on healing him till it happens.

Yeah doing both is possible. Just wait till he hands down One for All, then heal him. It'll be pretty great, and All Might isn't the type to demand it back.

Of course you might butterfly it so he uses up all of the 'embers' of One for All even faster than in canon, and everyone is fucked against All for One.

Of course you could always go with Option C-
Wait till he's drained from fighting All for One, then heal him and give him Magical Girl powers.

Maybe just absurd defense instead of outright invincibility? It's too easy to get a way to attack without moving.

Heir to the Munchiness: I was trying to be faithful to the games, as the Muncher-Yoshis, much like the Munchers in the Nintendo games, are impossible to defeat. Maybe if I emphasize that you cannot attack, period; you are able to hurt anyone that touches you after you've rooted yourself down, but you can't go on the offensive in any way.

One Touch: Good point. I mostly added in that part since I wasn't sure if the first part about successfully hurting anyone you physically touch was enough for a 600 CP perk. On the one hand, I could take out the armor ejection part, or I could say that the ease of removing armor and power-ups varies (standard clothes and buffs are easy to remove, but greater enhancements would take multiple touches); which do you think would be better?

Enemy Swap: Okay, I can give a Mario power level limit to this as well; since Mario also accounts for the RPGs, it still gives jumpers a decent variety to choose from in different jumps.

It's cheaper than robots I guess? Actually wait no. No it isn't.

Anyway, there's two reasons I make undead. The first is to actually talk to the dead, which is super useful for both crime scene investigations and science.

As for the second-The battle-undead I make personally have an eldritch holiness spin on them-ghosts crackling with halos of cold lightning, Terminator-litches burning from the inside-out from nuclear hearts, skeletons plated with molten gold etched with Norse runes, ancient zombie trees that crawl around like tall spiders. And zap people with spooky tree energy.

Traditional undead are kind of crappy, so I tend to just roll them at the enemy into a big Katamari Damacy ball because it's more cost effective than watching them walk into gunfire.

He's talking about that time you sterilized an autistic girl who couldn't read social situations, for being a "pedophile".
Despite the fact she's younger than the person she was groping.

Dragon Ball AF's "Reduced Form" allows you to effectively do what Freeza did and scale down your power level to whatever percentage value you want it to be at.
I think there's some limitations on how small the jump between forms can be? But as a bonus, you get bigger boosts on training the more your power is limited.

To a more limited extent, there's a perk in Jet Set Radio that lets you lock yourself at 10% power, which is what I USED to use before I got Reduced Form.

I'm not the type to contend with someone else's interpretation of a character but probably because of the whole "edgy hero of justice" thing about him.

although I feel in that situation EMIYA would just go for a quick kill instead of torturing them. As much as he denies it, there's still a part of him that wants to save others (His profile in F/GO says so, but it's heavily implied that's post character development so take that with a grain of salt) so he would find torture distasteful. Not to mention it's inefficient and irrational.

Hey Cool Cats. I've got a Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts question for you. How does the Leglimency compare across the jumps? Do they have different strengths/weaknesses, or are they just the same? Is there any advantage to buying both? Thanks.

>>
>>53397825
Attempted rape is indeed serious, and were she an adult I'd be inclined to agree you did the right thing. But she is a child.

Her age does not make what she did okay. It does not make it acceptable. But the human brain isn't as developed at 15 years old, and the last part of the brain that's developed is the decision making part of it.

What did had serious consequences to someone, and taking away a child's libido just sounds damn skeevy. You should have sat her down and told her about why it wasn't okay.

Also it was a doujin.

It's less that Aku is stupid and more that he's so evil he ends up fucking himself over. He's treacherous when honouring his word would serve him better, he's needlessly cruel which ends up turning people against him, and he's so lazy that he'll end up not following up on things that could actually help him if he just took the time to work on them. Rather then just killing the Emperor, he imprisoned him and made him watch Aku as he destroyed his home. Aku's own nature as a being of pure evil is what ends up causing his defeat most of the time.

He's actually a pretty cool guy, or at least he was until his friends and family all turned on him or died. He twisted his nightmare materialization magic around so he could heal Kamahl... only for Kamahl to say "this is against my religion, bruh." and literally burn the healed flesh off. He gave the Mirari to the Cabal Patriarch as a bona fide gift... and then the Patriarch had Chainer's teacher/foster father killed ("Make it look like an accident!") so he wouldn't have to share Chainer's loyalties. This went about as well as you'd expect.

He also manages to actually use the Mirari a few times to no ill effect, while most others blow themselves and everyone around them up on the first try. I'm pretty sure only Karn ever surpassed him in that regard (and maybe Memnarch, but I'm not sure he counts because Karn built him around the Mirari).

I explored it as a viable option during my years in Shaman King and Forgotten Realms. I had always had a fascination with the practice, even before I started Jumping. They proved useful when numbers were more valuable than skill, but other than that they are relatively lacking at the lower end.

That said, Hellsing Vampires are not to be trifled with, even the third generation ones I can personally produce. Of course, they cannot be controlled as well as the lower undead and have generally proven themselves more trouble than they are worth. Rip Van Winkle is a notable exception. Alucard is not.

But after Nechronica I swore off the practice. There was just too much pain and madness there for it not to affect me. Even though I know how to make Dolls, I've never done it. Not even when I desperately needed troops in Ogre Battle.

I have to disagree. You probably only seen the anime. However in the manga he was able to block city busting energy blasts. He's 6/5 in every category, because he is that powerful. When he went up against One For All, he was able to cancel out city-busting energy waves. That was with just a dying ember & a collapsed lung.

>Really, taking that scenario is being a real dick.

Its not that hard. Honestly if you just follow the main events & improvised you should do fine. Biggest thing would be reforming the Hero system. Right now they're more like celebrities than actual heroes. They should be working hand & hand with the police instead of leaving just incarnation to the police.

>Graffiti + Queen Bee = SprayBee
= The ability to summon and control Bees that have small spray nozzles instead of stingers. Each has their own color and follow mental commands.

A pretty useless power, but great for tagging the sides of entire buildings with epic murals. I might not be able to be a Hero with it, but I like it.

>Hay Fever + Blood Manipulation = HeartStopper
= The ability to exude pollen infected with tiny droplets of the user's blood, which after being inhaled can be hardened in the blood stream to induce blood clots, stroke, and heart attacks.

Way more suited to a villain power than a hero, but I think it's a pretty inventive combination

>Erasure + Snake Hair = WanderingEye
= The ability to shut of the Quirks of a large number of people at once and keep them off, thanks mostly to the fact that snakes have no eyelids and do not need to blink. There are a number of weakness to this power, including its weakness to cold and the snakes tending to shed their skin painfully if the power is kept on too long, but the combination allows them to "track" targets by their heat, which works even through walls in limited situations.

This one is actually going to be Raven's Quirk when we eventually get there. I'm not quite sure if it's too powerful or if it needs some kind of extra limitation, but I'm running with it as is for now.

Which is actually a good reason for why Bancho doesn't just sit down and talk to them. He wouldn't be able to get the message across or be taken seriously.

Hmm, Starseed Awakening come to mind. You could even ask him what sort of power he'd like. Eleventh Commandment plus Kryptonian or other amazing alien/meta-human physiologies. Cultivation, which could be shared with other quirkless would-be heroes.
There's a lot of potential there.

What, the aphrodisiac? Kuroko acts like that already she dosen't do anything out of character and doesn't seem to be without her facilities. Attraction between young adults is common, as is the understanding that your social norms don't apply universally upon others. To do such is to overextend your freedoms upon another. Misaka is capable of controlling her entire bio-electric rhythm to the point that mind control is not able to get her to change her mind, this in addition to the fact that she is still friends with Kuroko hints at facts and understandings that you are not privy to as an impartial observer of only some of the characters lives.

Your views on punishment are solid, when taking a fully developed adult into account, but you are not taking into effect the various oddites that JAMMING CHEMICALS INTO THE BRAIN DURING ITS DEVELOPMENT CYCLE might have on some folks along with a number of other factors, just saying the Power Development Curriculum IS experimental. Misaka could be considered a fully armed person at all times, she uses a taser effect to punish her erstwhile companion and has the girl mostly in hand.

Aside: as a Law Student defend your positions with statements other than world you've made up please.

I don't see why that's a bad thing. We don't let crippled people become cops because they couldn't adequately defend themselves, in a society where superhumanity is the norm it would be equivalent. Someone without a Quirk trying to be a superhero would get murdered so hard. That rule is there to protect them, not to discriminate against them.

>>53398615
That makes perfect sense to me. Quirks are dangerous, regulating use of them is like gun control. Hell, at least with guns you can make predictions about what they can and can't do to judge their potential danger, Quirks could be anything. I see nothing wrong with society expecting that people with super powers should have to undergo intensive training before they're allowed to use them in public.

That's the part I'm talking about, you retard. Self defense.

And no, you're not getting in trouble unless it was YOUR gun that you didn't have registered. If you wrestle away some killer's gun and shoot him, you're not in an trouble.

Hell, the Quirk issue is more akin to needing a gun LICENSE, not a gun registration, and gun licenses are far from universal, nor are they exclusive to law enforcement like these quirk/hero licenses are, which is another big issue with their legislation. I'm not even against Justice's suggestion that there be a basic civilian Quirk license for their daily use by non-heroes. I'm just against the idea of self defense being illegal.

It might be. That's my point, you can't know just from looking at a person how dangerous they might be. Even Quirks that look unimpressive can be very dangerous, there's a guy named Best Jeanist whose power is to control denim, and he's fucking terrifying. So fine, I guess the comparison was wrong. It's the equivalent of waving around something that looks like a bazooka, and no one is sure if it's a real one or a prop. Either way, you're going to scare a lot of people unless you have some way of reassuring them it's not a threat.

And it's pointless for purposes of this analogy, because you can't grab someone else's Quirk and kill them with it unless your name is All For One. Your false equivalencies (and name calling) are not conducive to an open discussion, anon. As for self-defense being illegal, it's not in either situation. It's the circumstances surrounding it that are illegal. It's not against the law for you to defend yourself, it's against the law for you to use your gun/Quirk.
>>
>>53398880

A Quirk is not a gun. It's like a Fist, it's a natural part of your biology you can't be rid of(outside of VERY specific Quirks like One for All). It's against the law to punch someone who is trying to kill you.

More than that, EVERYONE has a Quirk. 80%, and growing, of the population has a Quirk. It's not like guns were only a minority of most populations bothers to get one, you are born with a quirk or develop one within the first few years, and 4/5 people have one. And that number is growing.
>>
>>53398984
Frankly, their law seems to be unenforceable. It's not possible to stop 80% of a population from doing something, especially not in their own homes.

>Also, they're trying to ban sharp-tipped knives right now, so the knives will only have their blunted cutting edge.

>>
>>53398956
No, I asserted that possessing an unregistered firearm was illegal. I explicitly stated that the self-defense part was not illegal. It's never illegal to defend yourself (in sane countries, at least), it is illegal to possess certain things without a permit. The reason you get in trouble for defending yourself with an illegal weapon isn't that you defended yourself, it's that in the process of defending yourself you have revealed your illicit possession. This isn't complicated, anon.

>>53398984
>A Quirk is not a gun. It's like a Fist, it's a natural part of your biology you can't be rid of(outside of VERY specific Quirks like One for All).
All the more reason to restrict its use. Guns can be disarmed. We're talking about a weapon, one potentially incredibly powerful, that can never be taken away from its wielder. And as you point out, more and more of the populace in My Hero Academia's universe possesses them with every passing year. You need laws to restrict their use, or else things will be utter chaos.

The answer kind of comes down to how much the Fantastic Beasts movies count as canon as Legilimency is pretty different in the movie.

There's even bits in the film where the characters say "don't read my mind" when in the books Snape explicitly says that only muggles talk about mind reading and that Legilimency didn't work like that.

For the sake of consistency I'd probably say that the perks both give you your full set of legilimency powers (although in Fantastic Beasts you'd probably be better due to being older and having more experience) and leave it at that.

Just a reminder, for those of you who took the Boku no Hero jump and want to get into UA, the entrance exam involves fighting robots. If your quirk doesn't work on robots, make sure to either plan accordingly or buy the Scholarship item discounted to students.

And, because I know people will complain about how the test works, a teacher flat-out states that he thinks it's a crummy system that's biassed towards flashy destructive powers and lets people slip through the cracks.
>>
>>53399779
Basically. Quirks appeared in the 'modern' world, but tech hasn't advanced much in the over a century since then, as people are surprised that All for One could still be alive when he appeared around the time Quirks first did, because society broke down from in-fighting.

That's hard to say, really. It's probably a toss-up between AGE, 00, and UC. 00 has the strongest, I'd say, but given how much of its tech is just GN particles coincidentally having exactly the right properties they need I'm not sure I'd call it advanced. It's like saying a society has advanced metalworking technology when they're really just mining naturally-pure mythril.

Well, Turn A, via Mobile Jump Gundam has the titular Turn A and its counterpart, the Turn X. Both of which can unleash a horrifying amount of civilizaiton level destruction with the Moonlight Butterfly nanomachine attack.

In more practical combat, 00's machines are pretty hax. GN Drives are basically the gundam missing link between real robots and Green Power Super Robot cores.
>>
>>53400020
I'd rather see you do a specific movie than a Generic for your Jump. You'll get more attention that way and it won't be such a hassle on you.
>>
>>53399968
That also form telepathic links, teleport people out of danger, evolve those exposed to them into superhumans, and cure cancer. All this, despite Celestial Being never once designing a system to do this until after the 00 Gundam had already pulled a new superpower out of its ass. Oh, sure, they'd reverse-engineer its abilities after the fact, but every weird ability that the 00 uses is something that's just innate to GN particles and not the result of a technological device using the GN particles to do something. The particles themselves come with those functions built-in. And don't you fucking tell me that Trans-Am Burst doesn't count, and is something that was a designed technology, just because "Trans-Am Burst" appeared on the 00's cockpit screen when that happened. No one knew that was a thing that could happen. Not a single person involved in the 00's design had any idea that was possible. It wasn't Veda sneaking in a piece of technology since Veda was disconnected from the Ptolomey crew when the 00 was designed, and it wasn't hidden in Aeolia Scheinberg's designs because he died three hundred years before the Twin Drive was even conceived of. It's just something that happened all on its own, and the fact that there was a cockpit readout for it makes GN particles all the more magical and stupid.

That's the Trace, which is set over general muggleborn areas, not over the whole of britain, or on wands or anything. So any magic gets done at a location tagged "this muggleborn", this muggleborn gets blamed, whether they did it or not. But of course pureblood homes are outside muggle areas, and they don't have the trace on them. Because it'd be going off constantly if they did. It's a law which exists for the benefit of the purebloods.

If you're worried about having to do an update with each movie, just limit your Jump to a few of them. Maybe limit it based on time passed in-universe? I thought significant chunks of time pass between each film. So just have it include all the films that take place within the normal ten year stay.

No? It gets removed from individuals when they turn 18.
>>
>>53400276
I've been thinking about that lately. I think a good way to do it would be to have twin origins, like some of Val's jumps. One would be your motivation. You know: destructive monster, guardian of Earth, simply territorial, etc. Then you'd have another origin for where you come from: mutant, alien, ancient civilization, avatar of nature, that sort of thing. I have no idea where to go further with it, though.

>>53400491
Huh, it looks like there really is no fire breathing. I thought there would be. Oh well. Take Lighter instead, (Generation Quirks, Tier 0, Quirk 2), and pump it up a few levels. It already runs on producing flames using the air in your lungs, so cranking it up a few tiers and turning it into Fire Breathing isn't much of a stretch.
>>
>>53400365
Items: I don't what you mean by uneven in number; I specifically made sure each background only had three items to balance things out. The trouble, you see, is that certain backgrounds were featured more strongly in the games than others. As a result, I could barely find three items for some of the races, so I limited each item set accordingly. The trouble is, this meant I couldn't be too choosy in picking the items, and some of them were clearly worth more than others, leading to price disparity.

Treasure Chests: I made it 40 LP to make up for the Multiplayer Option later on.

Kanji Factory: Sorry, I'm sometimes not the best judge for prices. I can cut it down a knock.

Goopa Shells: In ASMT, just like the Yellow Koopas of Super Mario World, Goopas that enter a yellow shell go into an invincible, berserk mode. Then again, there are a few clever ways to kill it, so maybe I can say that it boosts your attack power and defense but doesn't necessarily make you invincible.

Multiplayer Option: Sorry! I wanted to make one "faulty" section as a tribute to the haphazard organization of the games. Since each level was made by a different person, you had some that were awesome and some that were just trolling the player. I can get rid of the joke if you want.

Drawbacks: Actually, the 1000 point drawback would be very dangerous in this jump. There's a reason I specifically said you could have extra lives in this jump. Watch one of the playthroughs for the games, and you'll see that there are levels where even an experienced player will just die and die and die until everything is just perfect. Therefore, I considered that drawback a suicide option.

Lives/Demos: No, I specifically said in the notes that the extra lives stop counting once the jump ends. I'll see if I can make it even clearer.
>>
>>53400229
>limit to mario power levels

There are more than plenty of jumps that don't have perks limited to in setting powerlevels. That's literally why fiat is a thing. You're basically arguing that fiat shouldn't be.
>>
I'm surprised there's no Ape Escape jump.
>>
>>53400837
Guess you should make it.
>>
>>53400229
Time Out: Okay, I'll make it one second.

Similar Powers: You see, in A2XT, you get to play as characters other than ABCDs. The thing is, the game lore says that the ABCDs are notable for how they can have multiple lives and how they can gain power from veggies. Yet the other playable characters, who are not ABCDs, can also gain veggie power-ups and extra lives as well.

Forget About It: I wanted to include it because it's an integral part of the last game. At the end of A2XT, the universe gets destroyed and everyone gets killed - except for Sheath, who remains ignorant of what happened and that she should be dead. The reason I have 800 CP perks is because I thought that was the appropriate level for some of these perks.

Super Demo: What if I said they all had to stay within a limited range of each other, and that there was a time limit for using the perk?

Munchies: I could put a time limit in.

Screen Play: What if I said it just causes victims to accumulate damage instead, and that people trapped instinctively recognize the danger?

One Touch: I could try to scale it down maybe.

Swap: I plan to adjust it with a limit to Mario levels.

Harmless: Sorry, I thought it was a pretty decent 100 CP buy. If I move it up, what should I have instead, since you're moving up the other perks in the branch.

Babysitter: It's largely based on one part of a level where you visit an item "nursery" where they say they raise baby items. In a later level, you go to a different nursery and have to take a young item on a walk without touching it (it dislikes stranger danger and will kill you if you do so). I was sort of interpreting it as you being able to start the equivalent of a Pokemon daycare, only with items; you'd be able to breed them, make them animate, and give them intelligence, at the risk of them not being entirely loyal.
>>
>>53400815
Well, I was going to assume that RPG-style Mario games would count for the levels, so that would extend the range of powers somewhat.

Even so, I can see your point. I'm not sure which way to go.
>>
>>53400748
>Items
Then you need to find a way to fix that or increase the costs of the origins that get better items

>Treasure Chests
Then at least make it 60LP so you don't need to buy 4 of these chests to equal out.

>Multiplayer
Why would you purposefully put in something just to be annoying? There's a point where homages cross into the negative and this option was one of it.

>>53400815
Right, let's just allow you to automatically become the strongest creature in any jump's copy. Fuck off with that BS.

>>53400884
>Similar Powers
Like I said, some examples of it would help to be in the perk itself.

>Super Demo
Would help but the main issue is that you can't be killed as long as they're present. That's a really good effect given you get so many of them.

>Screen Play
That would fix it.

>Harmless
I don't know. I haven't played the series. All I know is that this perk is better and has more uses then the other 100cps. If you made it so particularly hostile or evil foes still tried to attack you, that would fix the issue.

>Thinking about Jumps
>Overwatch Jump has God Program AI as an option
>God Program uprising drawback with suboption of them gaining Jump powers and tech as well
I'm gonna guess that it wouldn't be much of a drawback if the God Programs were on my side, so I can't lead the uprising with my own. I certainly could, but in spirit of fun, I'm not going to do that.
I'm trying to figure out what'd be more fun. God Program option and becoming the enemy of every Overwatch agent, or taking the drawbacks and fight the AI uprising with my own God Program and use the hacking upgrades along with Techomancy from VtM and become an internet cyborg vampire hacker.

On a related note, if I went full ghost in the shell but I had shapeshifting or vampirism or whatnot that would sort of logically depend on still having an organic(ish) body, would I lose my powers? Once again it doesn't matter since I can write however I want, I just want the general opinions.

Does the Lexcorp item from the Injustice jump give you a copy of their stuff or does it just let Lexcorp set up headquarters in other worlds?
>>
>>53400952
Treasure Chests: Sorry, I got mixed up and thought that this would neutralize the 40 other points - I forgot that it would be the other way around. Though it's a moot point; I'm going to take your advice and give Multiplayer a more reasonable number, so I'll make the Chests 50 CP.

Similar Powers: Okay, I'll give a more direct example in the notes section.

Super Demo: Huh. The potential of that power didn't really occur to me when I was writing it up, as in the game it just helps you survive a difficult gauntlet in one level; by the end you'll be lucky to have any left. Although, you could actually get killed, if I adjust things slightly. If they're just independent, weaker copies of yourself and there's no guarantee that you won't be hit as long as they're around (it's just less likely with all those shields), the safety aspect would be a lot lower, I think.

Harmless: That...could work. There was one level in the game when the playable character eats a Toad, so the defense isn't perfect.

I know that a number of this style of jump have already been made, but if anyone's working on a jump for an anime/visual novel setting with a harem theme to it, I have a suggestion for a drawback:

You're the Derest- Your persona in the jump has been molded into a stereotypical dere of your choice - deredere, tsundere, etc. No matter which type of dere you choose, though, your heart is locked on a specific person in the jump, and your dere programming will surge in your heart and soul whenever you see, hear, speak to, or even think of that individual. For an additional bonus, the exact dere type would be completely random.

There's a lot of cases where you attract various dere personality girls, so it would be neat to see things reversed.

I don't think that sort of drawback has appeared in past jumps, so it's something to consider if someone is working on a setting this would fit with; unfortunately, none of the jumps I'm working on right now would match well with the imagined drawback, so I'm hoping someone else has a way to make it work for a jump.
>>
>>53401779
Would there be a way to actually make this happen?

Well, I was figuring that yandere would be one of the dere options to choose/roll from, but an upgraded bonus is another option, I admit.

Whatever dere you ended up as, though, you'd be an embodiment of that trope, such that a theoretical viewer could identify your "dere type" just by watching you for a couple of minutes.

Well, I'm working on ASMT right now (I'm Cataquack, by the way), and I also have jumps for Wee Sing and Bone (the comic) that I plan to post for review at some point. I'm also at rough stages of drafting for The Great Muppet Caper, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, and Kemono Friends. Plus, since I got the go-ahead from the writer of the miniseries jump version, I'm working on a jump for Dinotopia, book-oriented; it's taking longer since I want to make sure it stands out from the other jump, but I did get the Chandara book at last, so I'm finally making some headway.

And if it's about posting early drafts of jumps there for feedback, it's because, for the most part, I consider /tg the final authority on jumps. So I do posts there to get early feedback that I can fix before coming over here.

Case in point - I initially wanted to do a save-function perk and a "glitch" perk for ASMT (both are canonically powers of certain NPCs), but the feedback I got convinced me to ax that.

According to Sun/Moon, it feels like screaming, insufferable pain, hatred and madness that you need the utmost control to handle, or else you will go on a rampage and tear your trainer to shreds.

Aight bois. I need supervillains for BTAS: Rogue's Gallery. The Jumper is, at jump 7, a wholesomely innocent catboy with the makings of a spiritual leader. Has a superpowered vampiric dark side, a sun-gun, and a knife that heals what it stabs as well as seems to be growing like a whack-ass weed. deargodhe'saGaryStu

Currently, I got these other guys for villains, and need either five or six more depending on when my skype-guy gets back to me.

>-Mindbird: The telepathic stalker who lives and thrives by living vicariously through the stolen memories of others. Is addicted to the “taste” of memories now, and on discovering Wren is a multiversal traveler, is now literally stalking him. May or may not be also lusting for Jumper.

>-Sticky Fingers: Kleptomaniacal thief with the world’s absolute worst luck imaginable - he will get his mark, one way or another. But shit will happen, either before or after. He goes about his heists with a glue gun, and a pair of adhesive-secreting gloves and shoes.

>-<Name Pending>: Moscow slum-girl with true eidetic memory and a wicked trigger finger. Was born on the bad side of the law, and though she dislikes her work now as an assassin… It’s all she’s known. Preferred weapon is a sniper rifle.

>-Delta: Megalomaniacal AI that wants to use Wren as it’s proxy to godhood, recognizing the volatile dimensional energies that develop both before and after the jumper’s exit. Has an obsession with escaping the horrors of entropy. Is currently trapped in an unassuming laptop, but can manifest a robotic body.
