Quasar preview out
https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/5/19/rapid-deployment/

tl;dr - it's pretty fucking good and it's titles are pretty fucking good, and combined with Sloane the "staple" TIEs are going to be fantastic now. It's got the upgrade slots for some egregiously unnecessary levels of squadron firepower. The upgrades also help some other Imperial ships move up a notch, like the VSD-II and the Interdictor.

>I-Class
>54 points
>one weapons team, two offensive slots
>3/2/1 blue dice
>1 blue flack

>II-Class
>61 points
>two weapons team, one offensive slot
>2R 1U / 1R 1U / 1U dice
>1 red flack

>Both:
>2/2/1 shield
>6 hull
>1 brace, 1 redirect
>2/4/2 command / squad / repair
>max speed 3

>Titles
>Pursuant: discard to automatically resolve a squadron dial (you still can use your normal dial), 2 points
>Squall: when you activate, 3 unengaged friendly squadrons can move up to distance 2, but can't end that movement engaged, 3 points
>(Yes, Rhymer can now nosepunch you from the next table over)
>Stronghold: friendly squadrons with swarm at distance 1-2 count as obstructed while defending

>Upgrades
>Disposable Capacitors: offensive slot, small or medium ships only, discard to make your blue dice work at long range this activation, 3 points
>•The Grand Inquisitor: imperial officer, when enemy ship within 5 changes speed, you can change your speed by 1, 4 points
>Quad Battery Turrets: text not revealed, also will come (two copies) in the Hammerhead box, 5 points
>Sloane + Boarding Troopers from the wave announcement

I'm glad these have good upgrade slots and titles, if they didn't they wouldn't be able to compete with 2 gozantis for less points on squad pushing duty.

I thought they'd be cheaper though, given how squishy they are.

Looks like the Empire is right back to ships without support teams or defensive retrofits.
>>
>>53330172
>I'm glad these have good upgrade slots and titles, if they didn't they wouldn't be able to compete with 2 gozantis for less points on squad pushing duty.

Between the Quasar and the Hammerhead, I imagine we'll be seeing a lot fewer flotillas in Wave 6 games.
>>
>>53330208
>>53330172
Oh, not to mention the new anti-flotilla hotness that is a VSD II with H9s, Gunnery Teams, and Disposable Capacitors.
>>
>>53330242
I'm not entirely sold o that idea, but I'm willing to try it before bashing it. I'm just worried the the Vic lacks the speed and maneuverability to catch the flotilla in the first place.

Would it be worth putting Warlord on such a Vic for the damage boost?
>>
>>53330690
Maybe.

DCs give the Victory six innate dice at long range for one activation (or EIGHT with Dominator). That's enough that to compensate for it's shit maneuverability. With gunnery teams, that's one turn of massive firepower at a reasonable price. If you get off a fewer other red dice shots - or even just one medium range shot - in the rest of the game, it's been worthwhile.
>>
>>53330866
>DCs give the Victory six innate dice at long range for one activation (or EIGHT with Dominator).

Correction - Dominator specifies close-medium range.

In my defense, I play rebels.
>>
>>53330909
>In my defense, I play rebels.

You and everyone else apparently.
Out of our local group of six, I'm the only Imperial player.
Now that Worlds is over I've got 2 people netlisting the 1st place list, and it's killing everyone's desire to play because of how unfun that list is to lay against. But how dare I suggest they play something else when Rhymer and Demolisher OP plz nerf.

>You and everyone else apparently
Everyone wants to play the good guy.
>>
>>53333479

Also, my understanding is that rebel fighters are good - as opposed to X-Wing, where Rebel fighters are average.

(Not that if I could afford to also play Armada, I wouldn't also learn to run imperial fighters and shout "Fly my pretties" a lot)
>>
>>53333510

It's less that rebel fighters are good (they are), and more that the tool kit for supporting them has gotten obscene.
Torryn Farr & Yavaris boost their offense
Biggs, Jan, and Gallant Haven boost their survivability
Flight Coordination Teams and All Fighters Follow Me eliminates the traditional achilles heel of being slow
Then you've got Rieekan comboing with all of the above by making you alpha strike proof, and that's the really important bit - most Imperial fighters are glass cannons and NEED to get a successful alpha off in order to survive.

Luckily for the Empire the Quasar is going to give us a few tools of our own now.
>>
>>53334101

I mean, if FFG ever wants to put the fear of god into Rebel fighters (or really, any fighters) all they need to do is get the Lancer Frigate approved again. Just give it an anti-fighter rating of "YES".
>>
>>53334153
Are Lancer's canon anymore?

I thought the Raider was supposed to take the place of the Lancer in current canon.

>>
>>53334218

Canon doesn't matter - though it probably makes licensing approvals easier, but the recent X-Wing Wave will be mostly non-canon ships, and one thing LFL really doesn't do is spoilers. The Lancer Frigate has been printed in AoR, and originally FFG wanted it for what the Raider does (shittily) in XWM but the scale was way off (which is apparently something LFL cares about since the minis FFG makes are all supposed to be in scale based on their numbers).

So if they really wanted a dedicated anti-fighter boat for Armada they could probably do it, though if they have more interesting and relevant ships they'll probably do that first.
>>
I was having trouble thinking of a scene to introduce the 2nd arc of my game. I think I've got it now.

Scene: Lines of prisoners, some in Rebel uniforms, some in rags, some in various scum costumes. A few humans but many aliens, and one or two droids. The prisoners are handcuffed behind their backs. Most are injured.

An Imperial Officer of the classic Hux stock strides forward.

"By decree of his most merciful excellency, Emperor Palpatine, your lives are to be spared. You have been spared the terrible penalty of execution on one condition, that you identify among you the one called Skywalker."

Silence, and then Luke (who has been off camera up until this point), steps forward. The shot pans from about chest height upwards. He's about to speak when another prisoner (closer to the camera) steps forward.

"I am Skywalker," he says.

"I am Skywalker!" a twi'lek shouts from the back row.

"No, I am Skywalker," another prisoner shouts, and then another, and the stormtroopers, clearly uncomfortable, raise their weapons and fidget. The officer cries for silence, but the prisoners continue to shout. Some are laughing, some are crying.

The officer scowls, raises his hand, and the stormtroopers raise their weapons. The officer is the centre of the frame. The camera faces him, but behind him, from out of the setting red sun, a ship approaches, flying low and fast. Laser fire sprays outwards as the officer and stormtroopers dive for cover.

Thoughts?

The PCs are going to be mixed in with the prisoners or on the ship.

This is the "accidentally kidnapped Luke/ Leia, Han and Chewie were captured by Vader after Hoth, Leia is becoming a dark Jedi and the twi'lek pilot is drunk again" group.
>>
>>53334459
>recent X-Wing Wave will be mostly non-canon ships
It's actually half and half. Auzituck an C-Roc are canon (both appear in Rebels), Aggressor and Scurrg are not, afaik.
>>
>>53334518

Epic and Aces packs aren't waves per say. The devs don't count them as the same, for instance. C-ROC and new Syck will be in hands way before Wave XI will be (since I don't think Wave XI is even on the "upcoming" products tracker right now).

Also Syck still non-canon as far as I know (though there were some Kihraxz in the Darth Maul marvel comics) so that would be 3/5 still.
>>
>>53334518

Leia and Vader are on board the Executor, doing high level command things and/or brooding. They aren't present in the scene. And there aren't a ton of pictures of Luke available, especially if he grows a sexy beard.

>>53335136
They haven't gone on board yet. Their cunning plan is to draw the Imperial Fleet further and further away from the Core Worlds by using Skywalker as bait, then pick off supply ships and individual Star Destroyers as best they can until the fleet is weakened, demoralized, and isolated. Then, pirate armada time.
>>
>>53332485
D6
>>
>>53332268
It's boring to play, too. I'd much rather bring my "bad" liberty and have a fun game.

>>53333510
In Armada, Rebel squadrons are mostly pricey, slow, generalists. The Empire's squadrons are mostly cheap, fast, specialists. Rebel aces are usually super units that do their job way better. Imperial aces are usually force multipliers.

What kicks Rebel aces over the top is Rieekan, mostly - friendly units that die remain in play until the end of the turn.

Normally, squadron play is about sniping that one essential model protecting all the others, or buffing them, or keeping them from being locked down. With Rieekan, when you snipe that model, it stays in play, shooting back at you and still doing its job. Meanwhile, all the other squadrons bomb the shit out of you from their still-existing zombie protector's bubble.

Wave VI is shaking the squadron game up a lot, though.

>>53334459
>since the minis FFG makes are all supposed to be in scale based on their numbers).
I only play Armada, but it is definitely not to scale.

>So if they really wanted a dedicated anti-fighter boat for Armada they could probably do it

One of the few things George was good at was good visual design. Not just among all the CGI, but costumes and lighting decisions as well.

>>53337801
>Who knows, maybe there'll be a new starter box for ep.8 introducing the Resistance and First Order as subfactions.
I strongly suspect we'll get either one or two new core sets in the next wave or two.

The existing one shows its age, and monofaction boxes would give you way more value - when the core set came out, that was less of an issue, and there wasn't enough ships to justify two sets.

Thread's slow for a Saturday, so here's a sneak peak at my next podcast.

A lot of people suggested that I should have added visual aids to the last episode (giving advice on changing things is different than criticism, constructive or otherwise, and is generally shitty when not asked for, but I digress). I just generally disagree with using visual aids to reinforce or over-explain the very abstract concepts I was talking about in that podcast.

Might get to film a decent batrep today since I found my camera's tripod.

Its not shitty to suggest things people think will improve your content. If you are posting it here just to shill you can fuck right off. If you're posting it here for ideas on content and how to improve then expect that.
Also giving advice on how to improve is the fucking same as constructive criticism. They just leave out the "Its boring to listen to you talk about vague concepts which would be easier to understand if you physically showed them."
>>
>>53345781
advice =/=criticism
Telling people how to fix their mistakes is generally more detrimental than just telling them that they have problems and letting them figure out a fix in their own way.

>>
>>53346257
Right I get that. But over text its difficult to say "Its boring" without coming across as just a shitpost, and genuinely want to see something improve.
The line is fuzzy where "Its boring because its a static image" is basically the same as "show something"
>>
>>53345781
"You should add x,y,z,..." to your video is not as good feedback as "I didn't understand what you meant when you said this" or even "I was bored".
>>53346257 has it right when he says that it's better to give the creator a change to solve the problem in his own way rather than the critic trying to fix the problem with their idea.

Now, I've gotten a lot of "add pictures" but no "I didn't understand X" so on one hand, I think that my podcast stands without visual aids, on the other, I don't know WHY people are asking for pictures. If they're bored it's one thing, if they need clarification on ideas it's a totally different thing in terms of how I would/should approach it.

The loss came to a guy who made top 16 at worlds. He was running Jabba, elite Weequays, Onar Koma, Shyla Varad, Greedo, an elite Jawa Scavenger, C-3PO, Chopper, and Black Market. Score was 30-38 at time limit.

Don't get REUP. It's atrocious.

It turns rules that can be explained in 35 pages into a 300 page tome. People treat it like it's the end-all, be-all of D6, but it runs counter to what the D6 system is all about - simplicity, elegance.

Fuck REUP.

Alright /swg/, we're coming up on a pretty big moment in the campaign involving a nemesis the party has a history with, and I'm setting up the battle. Rather than it just being a massive slog of rolling to hit and shit like that, I've got a battlefield drawn up of squares/hexes and am going to be putting traps around the place.

Here's what I've got so far. Tell me if you think this is too brutal for a party of 5 around 1k exp:

Traps and risks around the Warehouse:

Holographic Ghillie + Heat unit set up with remote rifle
- 1R3P to spot while looking with Perception
- 1R1P to spot after one fires using Vigilance
If examined with scopes/sensors, will be an indistinct humanoid shape laying down, ghillie confusing visual scans, rifle sticking out (will appear real)

Tripwire weapons trap
- If anyone actively searches before tripping first trap, 2R2P with X setback based on lights, description, etc to find
- 1R1P to find if using action on turn to look after first trap is sprung
Roll on table below to determine what kind of trap set off

TRAP TABLE

1 - Blaster pistol trap: Short ranged light attack with 3G against 1P plus defence
Base damage of 6 plus successes, crit 3

2 - Blade trap: Melee attack of 3G against 2P plus defence
Target may roll Athletics check to avoid if successful plus 2 or more threat, difficulty 1R2P
If successful, they avoid trap and damage, but are knocked prone unless Triumph rolled
If failed, they take 5? damage plus failures, and if Despair or 3 threat rolled, take automatic Hamstrung Critical Hit

3 - Mine: No check needed if stepped on
Victim (or engaged ally) may roll a Mechanics check against 1R3P(+2S if ally) to disarm trap
Victim may roll Athletics check against 3P to leap away, halving damage taken
If they move off the location of the trap, the mine explodes (consult Explosives type on sub table below), automatically damaging them (halved if Athletics passed)

cont.
>>
>>53350183
4 - Net trap: Ranged light attack of 3G2B against 1P plus defence
Target may roll Coordination check of Success=Difficulty, Advantage=Setback, or if 3 threat rolled on initial check, may use action to cut net as it falls with appropriate weapon to avoid being ensnared (cannot perform maneuvers)
Stun Damage 6 plus successes, Ensnare 5, Knockdown
Target (or engaged ally) may roll Athletics check against 3P to free themselves from net, using their action for turn

5 - Flamethrower trap: Ranged heavy of 2Y1G against 1P plus defence
Victim and allies in short range take 6 damage plus success
Can trigger burn quality per target hit (2 advantage)
Automatic Disorient 1 if burned

6 - Laser cutter trap: Melee attack of 3G against 2P plus defence
Target may roll Coordination check to use weapon to block cutter, difficulty 1R2P
If successful, they take no damage from the laser, but weapon takes one stage of damage
If failed, they take 5 damage flat, and if Despair or 3 threat rolled, armor takes one stage of damage

7 - Bola trap: Ranged light of 3G against 1P plus defence
No damage if hit, but target knocked prone and Ensnare 3

8 - Grenade trap: Consult table below for explosive type
Victim may roll Athletics check against 3P to leap away, halving damage
OR victim may roll Coordination check against 1R2P to kick or slap grenade away, halving damage and potentially damaging something else
If despair is rolled target takes automatic Crippled Critical Hit, affecting limb used

9 - Pit trap: Athletics or Coordination check of 1R2P to avoid
If failed, victim falls into trap, taking strain damage = to any failures (or that and crit +20 if despair rolled - SPIKE TRAP VARIANT), and requiring 2P Athletics check to climb out
If success, target leaps to safety, but on result of despair or 3 threat is knocked prone

cont.
>>
>>53350196
10 - Log (junk( trap: Athetics or Coordination check of 2R2S to avoid
If failed, victim takes damage = to any failures (ignore soak) and on despair critical hit +30 to result
If successful, victim throws self to safety, and is knocked prone automatically
On success with despair or 3 threat, log trap swings back again next round, requiring check of 1R1P to avoid

Explosives type: (roll for results)

1 -Poison gas (1 - bearsloth 4P Resilience, fail = Crit, 2 - neurotoxin 2P Resilience, fail = 5 wounds plus 1 per threat and extra rounds per despair, 3 - Muon Gold add Boost to all Cunning and Presence checks until end of encounter, 4 - Longsight +1 Willpower/2 strain at start of each turn, 5 - Raqour venom 4P Resilience, fail = Stagger 2, threat = 2 strain, despair = immobilized 2, 6 - water vapour no effect)
2 - Frag (damage 8, blast 6, crit 4)
3 - Stun (damage 8, blast 8, disorient 3, stun damage)
4 - Inferno (damage 8, blast 6, burn 2, crit 3)
5 - Glop (damage 2, ensnare 3)
6 - Noise (damage 4, blast 4, concussive 1, stun damage, crit 6)

Any other ideas? Basically the opponents are a melee focussed brawler who will be hopping in and out of combat around cover, while a long range marksman will be popping shots off while displacing if they party shoots their way.

This is EotE, I guess?

I don't know your party stats, talents or equipment, and those make a major difference in the game regardless of xp.
Anyways, it looks decent, and if they're taking too many hits, you can always say that it was the last trap, so you should be fine.

ideas(I tried to explore skills that you hadn't used):
>Scarecrow looking like an enemy and filled with explosives. Ideally in a corner or a building so they are really close when they see it. Damage as AP mine.
>roll 2R2P against Cool to refrain from shooting it or 3P against Perception if they don't fire at it immediately.
I would describe it as "an human with its weapon pointed at you"

>Remote controlled automatic mortar
>proximity sensors (4P against Stealth to approach one undetected, 3R1P against Computer to access the mortar controls), 10m detection radius. Fires an heavy frag grenade (damage 9, blast 7, crit 4) that falls on the next turn. Better stay moving.
Can be shoot (8HP). Nemesis as an IFF tag and won't be targeted unless the software is messed with.

what's the difference between the two editions?
>>
>>53355068
Do you have the standard B-Wing expansion? Fire Control System or Advanced Sensors work great on Keyan.

Luke is quite expensive, I know you have R2 but x-wings are still quite fragile. At least slap an integrated astromech on there. Maybe if you make Luke a bit cheaper, say by dropping the torps, you could slap Proton rockets on Gemmer, who likes being at range 1. It's worth investing more in the A-Wing because it will be harder to take down. Make use of its title and two EPT slots.

>>53355088
I wouldn't put vectored thrusters on a standard x-wing personally, especially since your other ships can't barrel roll either. Intergated Astro works really well with R2-D6 because you still keep your EPT when you discard the droid.

I know it's only available from imperial ships but a comm relay instead of pattern analyser on the T-70s would be more efficient in this list than pattern analyser.
>>
>>53355068
Push Keyan is nice, ion isn't. Take FCS instead. Luke is way too expensive, dump the Expertise/APT for anything else, I prefer Lone Wolf. Gemmer may throw lots of dice but is not really hard to hit without autothrusters and doesn't do more than tickle. Autos, Push the Limit, and Proton Rockets.

Not a great list, just a collection of neat pilots. Good for casual play, probably not tournament ready.

>>53355088
R3 is garbage, Garven is trying too hard.

What are you trying to do with these? What are your parameters? There's good ideas here but the execution is a bit off.

Is it true that Fassbender is replacing Mcgregor in the Ben standalone?

(if one is even on the table still)
>>
>>53356004
It's not true. An Obi-Wan movie hasn't even been confirmed in the slightest, and McGregor has come back several times and constantly expresses interest in returning to the role.
>>
>>53355223
>>53355355
I don't have the B-wing expansion, but I'll get FCS on there as soon as I get a copy. .
I kinda like Advanced Torps + Expertise since it only requires a target lock to make it work. I know it comes at the cost of Gemmer's proton rockets, but to be fair Gemmer was only going to use em once and ditch em. At least Gemmer can punch and not get hit.
Ion Cannon on Keyan was to fill a slot. But FCS can replace it when I get it

As for the second one, it was a Swarm Leader list. R3 is for the evades necessary.
I'll consider the Comm Relay for the T-70 X-Wings and remove Vectored Thrusters and put in Integrated Astro
Adv. Prot. Torps there is to make it a seven dice attack.
I only have one HotR so I lack a third Inte grated Astro

And >>53355355 was experimentation with what I have. Like I said my dad made up the first one and the second was me trying to make a list with specifically Red Squadron. I did a little refining on both (trust me, the second list looked A LOT worse at first).

And fuck autothrusters

Okay i watched the video. Ill give feedback then.

Your video isn't super interesting. While your voice isn't completely devoid of emotion, its not super entertaining. You choose usually a nice picture, just 30 seconds in, its boring.
A lot of your viewers, specifically from here, aren't new players. We understand your concepts because we already understand the game pretty well. I showed a brand new player a couple of your videos and she was confused. Specifically the rush versus slow down, she didn't understand the value of a rush versus a hold.
As an experienced player, I don't see value in the video, because its explaining things I know. The painting one being an exception, because thats just flavor videos, which was nice.

There no advice, just plain judgement.

Thanks for the cogent feedback. It's extremely clear what you mean.

My viewers' levels of experience is something I've been actively trying to adapt to as I've found it hard to talk to players from all walks in the same video. I acknowledge that I have to make scripting tweaks to both sound more attention-grabbing overall and more useful to newer players. I'm going to do some more editing for flavor, with clips from movies, etc. like Matt Colville does in his videos.

As an experienced player, would you like to see more flavor vids like the repaint one? Obviously with better editing and more content than that one. That video has been one of the least popular of the recent videos, so I figured the format was kinda shit.

Another (somewhat off-topic) question: A lot of my approach to the series has been inspired by Wargamer: Fritz's youtube audio logs. How well is he received here on /tg/? I've been here for years and have never heard someone here comment on him, good or bad.

(sorry to shit up the thread with this off-topic stuff)

Gizor Dellso from BFII (the original) launches an insurrection well into the reign of the Empire

I'm thinking about writing something about this desu
>>
"in a remote and midnight vacume beyond the edge of the galaxy, the vast Rebel fleet stretched, from its vanguard to it rear echelon, past the range of human vision. Corellian battle ships, cruisers, destroyers, carriers, bombers, Sullustian cargo freighters, Calamarian tankers, Alderaanian gunships, Kesselian blockade runners, Bestinian skyhoppers, X-wing, Y-wing, and A-wing fighters, shuttles, transport vehicles, manowars. Every Rebel in the galaxy, soldier and civilian alike, waited tensely in these ships for instructions. They were lead by the largest of the Rebel Cruisers, the Headquarters Frigate." (ROTJ novel)

>Bestinian Skyhopper

First of all, what the hell are Skyhoppers doing during the Battle of Endor

Second, if we interpret "Bestinian" to mean from "Bestine, the city on Tattooine", then are they T-16 Skyhoppers?

Which brings on a whole other layer to the first question on why they would bring T-16 Skyhoppers
>>
>>53360851
I don't think you can get every person in your video. I just want a reason to watch the video, ya feel?
The flavor vids are fun to see as filler, but I don't think I'd want to watch them to frequently.
I hadn't ever watched that dude before, so I watched a video through and jump through a few more. What I think would keep me engaged in his video is his voice. The excitement, rise/fall, tone, and flow of his speaking keeps me wanting to listen, even though I have zero interest in 40k.
>>
>>53361420
Skyhoppers are cheap, have familiar controls, exceptional performance and are easy to retrofit guns onto. This is a rebellion, after all. Beating plowshares into swords is how they should be doing everything.

>>53361466
I agree with you 100%. I'm thinking that I'm going to step away from the scripts I'm using now and start writing looser outlines that allow me to speak with more character and cadence, in addition to all the editing stuff.
>>
>>53361420
Bestine is a planet in the Inner Rim.

Skyhoppers likely weren't actually used in the battle of Endor, but could have been used in cleanup duty on the moon afterward.

I've always pondered if the abundance of stormtrooper variants (or just Imperial trooper variants) we've seen is due to some Moffs/Governors/Organizations levying private armies (or rather, with Stormtroopers, allocating resources to develop specific types of troopers unique to that planet's specific environment) in addition/complement to to the "official" Imperial garrison

Honestly the closest thing will probably be local forces being recruited into the Empire's ranks a la the Waffen-SS auxiliary units

A sound theory. After all, elite units carry more prestige for the moff, and in some cases are more likely to be loyal to him rather than to the Empire.
If I remember my Legends correctly, even the imperial army puts its hands on stormtrooper armor in some cases, so it can't be too resctricted.

If the prequels era hadn't left untouched for so long, we would probably have seen a ton of second-hand troops equipped with leftovers from the clone wars.

If so, does that mean a droid could be a jedi? Not canonically of course, but by the rules.

So my "Accidentally Ki napped Luke Skywalker" group just finished up their latest session.

Borrowing a plan from /tg/, I think, they used an army of surplus battle droids dressed in stormtrooper armor to steal a Star Destroyer. They won't make it far, but they really don't need to, at this point. The Grand Imperial Armada barely has the resources to chase them down. It was great.

Also, the bounty hunter was revealed to be the Emperor's grandson, and is taking the Star Destroyer to build a counter-empire, Roman style. He's taking on the throne in fine traditional style by mixing Barbarian rebels with converted and disaffected Imperial troops.

Should be an excellent time.
>>
>>53365514
They do use normal class rules.

However, they cannot gain the Force Sensitivity feat or any Force powers. They also do not have a Constitution score and therefore do not get a Con bonus to HP when leveling up.

I have no idea. This game started with just A New Hope as canon and filled in the rest as needed. The battle droids, as far as anyone knows, were used in some distant wars, and the Clone Wars were another thing entirely.

So yeah, canon is a little... loose. And mostly ignored completely.

Nope. Like I said, I have no idea who that is. I mean, it's not /impossible/ that the canon will end up matching, but it's pretty damn unlikely. We've got a slightly eccentric bounty hunter setting himself up as the Challenger to the Throne, hoping to attract a fleet of his own behind his "legitimate" claim.

>>53365896
Nope, sadly. Luke is just too goddamn dense. Seriously, that farmboy will not take a hint. He spent years farming moisture but has no idea how gather it any other way, if you know what I mean. Maybe not Forrest Gump dumb, but kind of close.

She has been teaching a captured and converted TIE pilot a move she's calling "Raith's Revenge", so that's good.

Anyone here having success running Sato in Armada? My local meta (San Antonio) is hyper fucking competitive and over 200 strong-- I can count on one hand the number of people who run Sato lists. And I'm one of them.

I may have hit on something the other night. Two AFIIs with ECM, Ordanance Experts (yes really). One had Sato and the other was Paragon. A Pelta with Raymus and AFFM. And a GR75 with Tano and Bright Hope. All of that was pushing Jan Ors, 4 X-Wings and Norra Wexley ahead of it.

I really want to make a list with the new Vader, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I know that I wanted to have Vader and two of the same Elite Squad.

Currently, I'm thinking the following-

Vader(Extra Angry)-13
2x Elite ISB Agents-14
Elite Stormtroopers (Cross Training)-10
Imperial Officer-2
Ziilo technique-1

Is this a good list? Do you have any suggestions?

Some time ago, /swg/ inspired me to have an enemy NPC based on this WWII troll. This TIE pilot did a pretty good job of pissing off my players by chucking ion rockets at them anytime they got near a vehicle. A well placed flare also allowed a Scout sniper to plant a round in the Commando. He brought two players down to exactly 1 WT with an incendiary rocket.
The Medic forced a comms officer to send a message to Charlie, saying that the Rebels were here to take all his beer and that he needed to land somewhere. He replied "I'll drop down at the clearing out back." Medic went to the clearing where Charlie dropped down another incendiary rocket. To his credit, he felt very foolish.
The Ace and the Commando commandeered an AT-ST. Charlie flew straight toward it with an ion rocket. A triumph disabled the thing completely, but the Ace miraculously got the chin cannon online, fired at the TIE, and got a crit that disabled its engines. This caused the TIE to smash right into the walker. More critting started a fire. Players dive right out the hatch. Poor flaming Charlie crawls out a broken windshield and plummets to the ground. He was killed when the fires detonated all the remaining rockets.

The Lieutenant is pretty hilarious. Preventing any dice modifications whatsoever on blanks and focuses is really damn good. She's going to have a huge target on top of her head.

I'm not convinced on Double Edge, but we'll see I guess.

Pity the PS5 doesn't have an EPT.

Intensity is interesting but not that game breaking. Probably goes best on ships that already have good action economy with boosts/BRs like Vader or Jake Farrel. It's going to be goddamn nuts on Poe though.
>>
>>53373057
In fact, PS9 Poe with Intensity, PA, and Black one. Dial in a red maneuver, perform it, boost in the direction you want to go, strip an enemy target lock, and give yourself a focus. That is some damn good action economy there.

Given how many times FFG has tried releasing T-65-compatible upgrades (Integrated Astro, BB-8, all those torp-improving gubbins, etc.), I think at this point, it might just be faster and more cost-effective to release an XJ with some ported T-65 pilots, a better dial, and more action options. Less chance of accidentally making Biggs even more annoying to deal with.

Biggs is already the best pilot in the game, hands down. His ability is so powerful that it limits the design space for the T-65 severely. You cannot make it cheaper or more defensive without making him even stronger.

Hell, a huge number of the missions say "no taking biggs".

Since the T-65 needs a fix, you can either make it purely offensive (discounted torps?) or you can prohibit it being on Biggs, or you can nerf biggs.

Maybe "other friendly ships at range 1 of you count as obstructed"

>Biggs is already the best pilot in the game, hands down.

Not in the fucking slightest. He's decent, but he is far from the best pilot in the game. He's been around since wave goddamn zero, but he really only took off once integrated astro and a need for Rebels to dodge torp scouts came about. Which hilariously his nerf now makes him almost useless for, as evidenced by worlds final match. Also he did nothing to make Rebels viable in waves 1-3 when TIE swarms reigned supreme. He was also nowhere in two ship meta in wave 5-6.

Biggs is only decent in a meta where there's a lot of firepower but expensive Rebel small ships are still good in the end game. Poe, Miranda, Norra, and Corran being the big examples there.

>Hell, a huge number of the missions say "no taking biggs".

Most missions don't actually let you build a squad but instead give you one. Especially the earlier designed missions and the epic ship campaigns.

Also, besides the fact that Biggs has already received a substantial nerf that very much so limits his effectiveness, there's a third option: only give him a direct buff if he's protecting other X-wings. Though I haven't seen Kanan Biggs in a while, it would almost be refreshing to fight now.

Though at this point I don't really care. So many low-agility Rebel ships right now is making me break out my /D Defender lists and parking their list on rocks.

No he isn't. But if you're afraid of buffing the T-65 because that would buff Biggs, then make it a title that can only be equiped by a PS6+ pilot.
Nobody runs generic X-wings anyway.
What it needs is a repositioning tool that isn't limited to a mod or ept slot to make the aces valid again. Or maybe something else, I'm sure FFG will think of something cool.

Ancient sith holocron are still some great plot devices, since you can put all you want in them.

Full sets of mandalorian armors made of rare steel are also something I can picture on an Imperial collector's vault.

Also Jedi master's lightsabers, since everything Jedi-related is rare and probably forbidden in a post-CW era.
>>
>>53389409

Yeah, a holocron and a genuine khyber crystal are the things that are already in there - the jedi player has been hunting a khyber for a while, and when they found out a holocron would be in there too she was bouncing off the walls.

Old mando armour could be interesting - the party would 100% steal it and then fight over who got it, and that's always fun.

How about some sort of Droid chip, that if installed in a Droid / ship, reveals itself as a semi-corrupted, highly incompetent assassin Droid in virus form?

I'm mostly envisioning a mix between HK-47 and C-3P0, a condescending but incompetent assassin that is forthcoming about everything except its mission and origins, and is constantly complaining about being in a shitty, non-assassin body (eg, a ship), but is otherwise mostly compliant and harmless.

The force wars are a bit too far back for this guy's collection I think, but otherwise that's some good shit man.

>Rakata/Gree/Columi/Tionese/Celestial porn
Fucking kek.
Might put some in there for lels. Better yet, The Lusty Rakatan Maid, so they can spend ages trying to get it translated.

Fuck now I have to write some really really poor Rakatan erotica for the party to have when they finally get it translated.

Depends on how big a governor they are, some just run a planet, others a small section of space with some systems in it.
Also the type of systems and where they are. having a couple of important core worlds compared to a chunk of backwater septic fringe planets isn't really the same thing and tends to be where they stick duds and less well connected governors
That on a comparative scale also means they're not as well resourced or completely balling with cash, gear and other shit.
>>
>>53390620

Well for that detail, yeah, it's a rim world but a relatively peaceful one. The Governor in question only governs the planet and small section of surrounding space - not a full sector or anything - but he actively requested the posting. He has good connections and cashmoney, but he actively requested to be out on the rim.

It's certainly nothing to do with the planet being near Korriban, and definitely nothing to do with being able to try and secretly amass his museum of illegalities away from the prying eyes of the Core worlds.

Ah, the old pseudo-archeologist and general menace to themselves type.
Anything really sweet you might want to bury in a mass of stone carvings, weird sith marital aids, old burial sarcophagus and other random shit which isn't inherently valuable, but rare and mostly useless. Basically think of all those Sumerian clay tablets and shit which is shopping lists, writefag porn and other random recordings which most people really have no use for.

If they get a lot of success then maybe there's some really esoteric details for something like a ships drive, recipes for weird alchemical alloys, potions and maybe maps to other weird arse locations no ones ever heard of
Don't give them anything too easy.
Make the little cunts work for it

What would be an interesting thing for a sympathetic imperial governor of some kind to collect?
I've got an EoTE campaign and I had the idea of a decent enough imperial with no juice out in shit nowhere as a patron, who employs the PCs to solve various problems because he can't get the bureaucracy to actually DO anything
>>

The former: Exotic weapons based on primitive technology, like bowcasters or energy bows. The latter: food and medical supplies.

Make him a huge Rodian opera fan. Has a vast collection of holovids of them, will engage in lengthy debates about the different performance styles and artists at the drop of a hat, etc.

Really wants to have one of the grand touring productions visit his particular bit of space, but hasn't had any luck thus far.

He not only collects and paints model spaceships and creates dioramas of famous space battles, he's homebrewing a rules set to allow re-enacting those famous naval battles for fun and to enhance his strategic chops. He's eager for opponents willing to play the Rebel side. If only he had a Rebel tactician or fighter ace on hand to give him a challenge...

Antique droids, antique speeder bikes.

If the party are particularly nice to him / he develops enough of a liking for them, he will gift them X number of his more souped up (though less rare) bikes.
>>
>>53390836

Yeah, definitely not going to give it to them for free.
Probably going to throw a couple of preliminary missions at them once its made clear just how big a deal this haul could be - some missions to settle the supplies / contacts they might need for it.

Some smuggling, some side heists, maybe a full blown intrustion mission or two to set up.

Played in my first tournament today. It was just a small one, only 12 players. I placed 10th I think, I had to run before it was called.

I ran Norra Biggs Kyle, and I did okay.

Lost my first against Dengar/Old Teroch/Fenn Rau due to time. I was down by 15 points I think. Killed Teroch and half killed Dengar.

Won my second against Han/Wedge, but the guy was quite new so I didnt think it was too fair. I think it was either 60-0 or 60-33. I killed Han and Kyle was on 1 hull but I dont remeber if he died.

Last game was Asajj/Teroch/Fenn. I killed Teroch, Kyle got slaughtered, and Asajj was on 4 hull at the end. I had to leave though so I conceded, but it wasnt likely Id have won anyway. I had Biggs one hull and Norra on 5 hull, and Fenn was slippery and had full health.

There are serious flaws in bring Kyle but I love the HWK too much.

That reminds me, everyone has seen the new TIE Advanced/Interceptor, right?

What do you think its X-wing stats will be?

What do you think it will be called? (I'm hoping for TIE Advanced Interceptor, so it can use either title)

My guess is-

3/3/3/3

Upgrade bar is Tech, and if it's not able to use the TIEx1 title, a system.

My Dial guess is a TIE Interceptor's but with a green 5 straight, and either green 3 banks or 1 hards.

Kylo when not in the shuttle is likely PS 9, with an ability akin to "When attacking, the defender must roll defense dice before attack dice are rolled" or something about precognition.

Probably have a PS 5 or 6 generic as a Knight of Ren.

I just want empire to have a good new ace.
>>

Lt. Kestal's gonna do some work - though like every other "cancel results" card it'll need a day 1 FAQ.
>>
>>53398093
I mean an actual ace- someone that doges arcs and incoming fire to get behind other ships to kill them.

Kestal looks like she just takes Expertise and spams TLT shots into people.

Speaking of, how does 'capital' scale work when you're shooting them at non-cap things? As it stands, my GM doesn't know and because of that my capital turbolasers are doing less than my turret mounted laser cannons.

I was quite pleased with the results really. The two losses were against players much better than me, and they werent huge losses (though the concession counted as 100-0). Im pretty sure I won an acrylic evade token for placing 10th, though desu I didnt collect because I had to run
