Better question than the shitty OP:

Have you ever had a character who wouldn't even kill his enemies if it served no important purpose?

You know what I think? DHB makes characters who make better NPCs and villains than PCs.

Pacifist runs are really funny. Especially when you're not telling the GM.

"...But... Are you not going to kill them?
"...What for?"
"But you're a criminal!"
"...So?"

Let's talk about medieval cooking, and how the Golarions might do it!

Did you know that medieval and Renaissance eating was done twice a day, once at what is now Brunch and another at Dinner? Not only, hut records show there is little to no difference between what one ate in the morning, and what one ate at night; furthermore, quantity was valued over quality, as an understanding of nutrition was practically nonexistent (they did know that protein and fat was fucking delicious, however, and would consume that whenever possible.$
>>
Can someone list out all of the TTS characters w/ their alignment, race, sex, and class? Or should I just do it and make statistics on it?

DHB managed to not only start playing in a campaign on /pfg/, but played it all the way to completion and now is coming back for more. What's your excuse?

Interesting, but considering that Golarion has had far more time to develop and has had the aid of magic in its scholarly pursuits, anywhere that's remotely civilized would probably have some basic working knowledge of proper nutrition, even if they don't know why they should have it.

The best part is his backstory.

Campaign is about playing members of the local nobility in a game of grand politics and murderous intrigue.

Lord D'Agustine was a cruel, murderous bastard. To the point that he was commonly assumed to be a demon in halfling form and subjected to multiple attempted assassinations by holy water.
One day, D'Augstine simply failed to come back from a hunting expedition.
Then, a month later, he reappeared with his armor gleaming like new.
That was the moment of character introduction: D'Augstine showing up during a lord's meeting, and everything immediately going wrong when the assassins panicked.

Now, D'Augstine had been a moderately important NPC until he vanished. All the PCs knew, and hated, him. And he vanished because the party sorcerer murdered him, so the party sorcerer was shitting bricks.
So when D'Augstine won initiative and struck at the nearest assassin, everybody assumed he was going to murder this poor level 2 NPC. Nobody expected him to hit for non-lethal, then immediately demand surrender and offer a full pardon.
Even less expected was for him to go as far as taking an AOO at the guy casting Flaming Sphere, and jump into a lecture on the value of life.
I had the entire damn table, DM excepted, calling bullshit on this.

Everybody did calm down once somebody nailed a perception check to catch a glimpse of the inside of his helmet and see that it was empty, though nobody in the party has quite connected all the dots to figure out what's really going on. Most likely because they don't read Bloodforge Infusions and don't take ranks in K:Dungeoneering.
>>
>>53277139
That's what I'm doing too, anon! Very useful if you want to cook lavish feasts or sweetrolls.
>>
>>53277245
Because there are a number of people who think it's totally balanced.
>>
>>53277242
But why should barbs be the gold standard of martial ability?
>>
>>53277276
Because they are the class focused on getting mad and fucking shit up in melee combat.
>>
>>53277003
Fun fact: young Spartan women would shave their heads and have their husbands take them from behind so they can be mistaken for Spartan boys.
>>
>>53277276
Their only job is doing as much damage as possible in one swing. Initiators can do a lot more than just damage.
>>
So, Broken Blade and Primal Fury are getting reworks. Which other disciplines should also be redone from the ground up?
>>
Is there a better caster class for a shadow demon than sorceress, or should I just advance its HD?

Follow up question, if one had their pick of a specific class as a host, what's a great or unusual meat-suit to pilot around? What if they have the feat so they can use the host's class abilities?

Tempest Gale is good for control, but it's basically good for nothing else, and this is a very heavily damage focused game.

Golden Lion is in the same boat, just for buffs instead of control.

usually, i'd say you're right, but for the most part the different disciplines can accomplish more than one thing; even Iron Tortoise can be used for damage, despite being super defense focused. Tempest Gale has the next best thing to nothing offensively - it's just control.

Once again, lewd games get 50 apps here, prude games get maybe half that. The lewd games also get most of the best apps.

I actually think the people complaining about degeneracy or inside jokes are the 3 screaming autists. And it really confuses me why you dont just seek out a community with a culture more to your liking. 5e is pure and pfg is lewd because two kinds of players drew a line in the sand and congregated where they were more comfortable, why are you on this side of the line?

Even if you just strongly prefer pf to 5e, there are other pf communities on the internet.

They are, you need runestones (twice as expensive for the worse of the two casting types) for bards.

But the same wisdom can be applied, just cut the number of spells required to make wizardry rings in half. Also do not each ring means you can't have another so better get your +5 deflecton AC on another slot.

Ooh a direct, unsubstantiated contradiction. You serious people are really on another level.

Granted, I missed the last HV hot springs session, so something might have happened there.

>>
>>53278552
It's not like straight Pathfinder games don't happen here, they just tend to float under the radar. CotLT has been running so quietly most anons forgot about it, LoBaF has reported nothing but adventure on their green texts, an Ironfang Invasion game is recruiting with chargen rules I think are very interesting but most of the apps seem to be roll20 normies despite a daily link.

Lewd is just vastly over-reported on /pfg/. I really think there're just a few ERP hounds that like to wave their dicks in public accounting for almost everything.
>>

Still curious if anyone has any good suggestions. I'd like to make a neat foe for my PCs to defeat, and I know there's some people with good gestalt-building combinations in these threads. Two characters in the same body could pull off some neat stuff but still be defeatable by the PCs.
>>
>>53278624
...Of course nobody gets into the serious games, you ran out of this thread everyone that would be getting in. Because you just couldn't find a better place or even a private Discord server to talk about sexing up everything. You think they want to share their character sheets or ideas thinking you're immediately gonna go over it to moan how much you want to rape the PC while she's wearing a collar?

Also, SotJR has had nothing lewd going on, neither has Blingmaker.

Lewd is pretty much just a meme.
>>
A human woman getting pregnant with puppies, while incredibly stupid, doesn't bother me because of how far dissociated from reality it is.

The Cashmere "I got sexually abused by my father" roleplay on the other hand, is appalling. That shit isn't funny, it actually happens to people, and it ruins them for life. Trying to put it in your Dungeons and Dragons game is insulting to those people. The player should feel ashamed, but I get the feeling they're instead really proud of themselves for "serious character driven roleplay", which is even more sickening.
>>
>>53278724

>>
>>53278643
HV is mostly business and bantering, and is playing out like a friendly evil party with no lewdness so far.
HR is pretty silly and lighthearted, but otherwise pretty straight if a bit anime.
Shardwalkers has very little chance of being actually lewd given the players. It's also actually a pretty interesting setting.
And then you have stuff like Rhusae and WWW that while somewhat light, have pretty serious premises.

Lewd games are, imo, actually the minority. They're just more memed compared to the serious games that tend to fly more under the radar.

Games like CotLT and LoBaF where it sounds like lewd might straight up never happen.

Games like SotJR and Blingmaker where lewds aren't a focus but you know implicitly that the themes are in the air and the players at least will end up doing it in private.

Games like PLD and Overlewd where you can probably assume there'll be more erp sessions than play sessions.

I meant in the "stop an attack" sense, the action economy stuff of riven is really strong.

The RH counters of levels 5+ are all really good, but I don't usually comment on build options for character level 9+ since that's often end game, if you even make it there. And at those points, you usually can't go wrong. Stopwatch, however, needs the movement to negate the full attack, where as both Flowing Creek and Calm the Storm can negate full attacks. They might not negate it as assuredly, but they have a higher chance of working against one, since it's a single roll, and not a roll+movement to negate.

Not him, but: The 5e Psionics class is called the Mystic and it has 6 subclasses. Instead of picking individual powers, you now pick from a tree of powers called "disciplines". Stopwatch is alright, but the surprise counter is really situational, and not a good pick. Flickering Defense is maybe good, but seems to a bit lame compared to the success rate of other disciplines "Skill check to negate" and is a 3rd level to boot, and probability twist is a huge gamble if you don't know what the die result and bonus were because of GM hiding them.
>>
>>53279575

Flickering Defense is hilarious against firearms, but iffy otherwise.

Flickering Defense is a 60' ally counter, not personal, and unless if your target have poor defenses, works out to about a -8 to the attack. It also needs no investment anywhere.

On the other hand, skill checks only get ridiculous with investment and at higher levels. Sure, it's no Flowing Creek, but it's one of the stronger ones.

>>
>>53279601
Clockwatcher isn't worth the known slot, especially for a discipline whose skill is wis, implying you'd have a high perception, completely invalidating it.
Flickering Defense seems okay, but 3rd level maneuvers have a lot to compete with, and it's basically a 2nd level counter. Time Skitter, and things from other disciplines should have way higher priority.
Probability Twist has all those problems, except feels like a 1st or 2nd level boost.

>>53279662
So is Warning Roar from Golden Lion, and is a maneuver level lower so it won't compete against stronger maneuvers, and the original anon was on a warlord. He's going to have cha, and not the wis for stopwatch, and diplomacy is a good skill to invest in. What else would he take as 2nds? What would he take as 3rds? He only gets two of each, and unless he spends a feat, 3rd is more competitive

To warlord unarmed anon, take Thrashing and Riven, sprinkle in some Golden Lion to grab Warning Roar, and maybe a martial tradition for fun stances like Veiled Moon, Shattered Mirror, or whatever sounds cool to you.

I do actually care.

I love most of the apps character wise, but AP-wise they're not clicking for me. There's a few that work, but not enough to make a party that synergizes nicely and might have good interactions. If I can't form a decent party w/ compatible schedules, I might put TSS away, but I'm not setting that in stone: things can change, and some new apps might surprise me with how good they are.

Huh, so looking over Soulknife archetypes, you could have a Initiating soulknife with mindblade, mind armor, AND a mind shield all together... none of it seems to conflict if I'm adding it all up right.
>>
>>53280304
Yes, but you'd be better off being a War Soul Psychic Armory soulknife who picks up armor and shields via blade skills, if you still want them. The archetypes are underwhelming enough in actual play that they later printed blade skills that do 90% of what they do.
>>
>>53280360

>>
>>53280360
Hmm, looks like no one's added it to d20pfsrd yet. Which book was it in?
>>
>>53280387
It's not so much 'disgusting powerful' as it is, like, actually comparable to tier 3 classes in a way that the base Soulknife isn't.

It just looks really strong because it's got a Wis-powered longbow as a class feature instead of needing be a Zen Archer Monk and also buy a bow separately.
>>
>>53280443
War Soul is in Path of War.

Psychic Armory is in Psionics Augmented: Soulknives 1.

You'll also want to look at the "optional" sidebar for High Psionics, which (despite the name) basically just says "give the Soulknife the benefits of the Gifted Blade archetype for free because we fucked up and made the class too weak".

The first session of Overlewd was fun!
>>

This.

They're gonna burn out on ERP early in with the levels they got before session 0, even.

I just hope that boredom doesn't affect gameplay in any games I'm in, because I play with some of them in other games.
>>
>>53282449
Sure, because it was only ERP and nothing else. You'll burn out soon enough.
>>
Honestly looking at all this shit here makes me wonder if I should even advertise a nonlewd game here.

It seems that we've hit an endgame where people aren't just ignoring nonlewd games, but where nonlewd games are getting actively shittalked.
>>
>>53282597
What nonlewd game has gotten shit talked?
>>
>>53282597
Advertise it. I'm on the prowl for some fun games. Is it an AP or your own thing?
>>
What are the benefits for earning a knighthood after serving your king? What are the downsides?
>>
>>53282597
Ironfang hasn't been shittalked at all beyond a few obvious retards. Quite the contrary actually.
>>
>>53282693
What about Mighty Quest? Has that been shit talked?
>>
>>53282597
We shittalked Iron Gods because the chargen was the worst r20 garbage we've seen in months. Nonlewd is fine. We'll be all over it.
>>
>>53282767
Meh, i'm fine with the restrictions on Iron Gods. nothing in that list actually affected my planned build anyways.

>nothing in that list actually affected my planned build anyways.

That's not our real problem with it.

The issue is with the GMing style that a ban list that extensive and nonsensical represents.

You could ask him about it, rather than just assuming he's an idiot.
