Not sure why youre using an Errant-Questor. I would swap it for a Castellant so you can buff your dracoths to 1+ or liberators to 2+ saves. Then I would cut the gryph hound and add a Javelin Prosecutor squad

Just use your Longstrikes for that, they're really good at it.

Javen Prosecutors are pretty good. In my experience they do about as much damage as Prosecutors and cost half as much.

Years ago GW put out a boxed set with a winged Vampire Lord, as well as a boxed set of Chaos Demons for both WFB and 40k. Can't seem to find them on GW's page so they must be older than I thought.

They're in storage but since I'll be in that neck of the woods was thinking of digging them out and either giving them to someone at the local gaming shop or seeing how they translate into AOS.

Mine is Wanderers (female Glade Guard/Eternal Guard, Sisters of Avelorn, Sisters of the Thorn). You get I think 12 out of 16 female torsos for GG, and 5 out of 10 for Eternal Guard/Rangers. Spellweaver for wizard, and you could probably greenstuff boobs pretty easily onto a Waywatcher for a general.

Everything will probably have rules.
In hinterlands its just 50% of your heros points, and points/unit size for a regular guy.
So if your unit is 100 points for 10, each guy is 10 points.

Then you get 150 points for your entire army plus magic items etc.

So they will probably do something like:
Wounds capped at 3-5 for a single guy
No model worth over 150 ponts
leaders cost 50% of their points from the GHB
etc

Healing really shouldn't be in AoS, but if it has to be it needs to be limited to specific spells on heroes OR self heals on certain regen units.

Heroism seems fine but boring, i like Haste and Lethargy those are creative and useful without being too strong

Rule of One prevents casting the spell more than once.


Ignoring battleshock is very good for Destruction and Chaos armies that normally struggle with that sort of thing.

My Egyptian vampire coven is almost ready to field, just need to paint a few characters and done. 120 skelingtons already done, zombies too. Should be fun.

Sadly I'm completly new to the game, so got a bit of a kick in the fangs when realized that only the general can use a comand ability, making multiple vampires in the army utterly useless since RoE prevents use of their own spell aswell.

I can't seem to find a good explination of the mortal realms so forgive me.

Where are all the normal people? Are there living people in the Death realm for instance? Surely vampires needs subjects to lord over and feed on, same for Flesh-eaters that need starving mortals.

I've tried to look past the all the colours of the rainbow style of realm and see some depth in them to get inspired for an army or something, but things like >>53144894 honestly isn't helping.

The setting just feels hollow compared to WHFB's world, atleast for me right now, and it's a real hard time giving two shits about anything in the new settings, even though I want to.

Majority of the realms boasted some sort of civilization pre-Chaos. Yes, they had rivers of metal or walking dead, but there were, and are living people in realm of death- these days, only the ones that swear fealty to Nagash though, he kindly terminates the others to join his armies.

Chaos kind of fucked everything up, and either murdered or enslaved or turned into nomad refugees the people of the realms that did not find safe haven in Azyr (the only realm not invaded by Chaos).

Now you also have Kharadron, the sky-dwarves which avoided chaos by going up beyond the reach of most chaos warbands. Presumably you will have such pockets of civilization elsewhere. And as the Realmgate wars proceed, the people of Azyr, so humans, dwarves and elves who found refuge there, return to already re-conquered lands and are colonizing it again. It's a post-apocalyptic setting with a optimistic twist.

The Realm of Chaos is a realm of pure magic that exists parallel to the mortal realms. The mortal desires and ideas leave imprints onto that realm, and when sufficiently powerful or numerous they can coalesce into living beings typically called "daemons". The Great Horned Rat was birthed in this way by the nascent gestalt of skaven willpower.

It is fair to assume that the Chaos Gods were birthed the swame way and use human emotions/ideas like anger, hope, lust, etc. They reign supreme because there are so many negative emotions being reflected from the human heart into the realm of magic.


So where to Seraphon fit into all this?

It was left vague on purpose - they are supposed to be mysterious and enigmatic, only the Slann know the truth, etc.

The current understanding is that Slann conjure daemons like any of the mortals and chaos gods conjure daemons. The difference is that chaos daemons are reflections of mortal desires, corrupted by Chaos, while the Seraphon are reflections of the Slanns will, uncorrupted and devoted to eradicating Chaos.

They take the shape of the Lizardmen because that is what the Slann are familiar with and they believe it was the will of the Old Ones. The lizardmen were, after all, created directly by the Old Ones - the Slann believe them to be perfect form.

What do you guys think of taking 40 skinks in a single unit. 40 shots, hitting on 3+ wounding on 5+. I am already taking a stegadon so they can re-roll 1's and if I take a skink chief they can get a to hit 2+ rerollable. But with their horrible to wound stat that is still only 12 wounds before saves.

How do I make skinks work?

Your 30 man buffed deathstar is 60 wounds, 4+ save, 6+ invuln, reroll all 1s with sorc lord. Run and charge with destiny dice gives you a 20" threat range on average. Tzaangor coven lets them attack again in the hero phase. You have to hack down the whole unit before getting at the greatblades. Its like 97 damage before saves which is about the highest I've ever calculated for a max size unit.

If any other faction like say Ironjawz had that it would be 100% auto include.

With Mystic Shield, Demonic Power, and shield saves they shrug 2/3 of attacks, and 50% of rend-1 attacks. That seems pretty tough. They cost about as much as 9-12 skyfires and do like 10x the damage.

The list I was messing with still gets 9 skyfires and the LoC and the Shaman and Gaunt summoner anyway. That just seems more effective than the 15 skyfire list with worthless pink horrors and stuff.

Yeah it aint that simple. If they get killed "normally" they go back, but there's no telling a few things:

1. If they'll forget everything they knew before or forget who they were prior to reforging. A lot like making a copy of a copy, if you keep doing it, eventually it loses fidelity and it becomes nothing. Stormcasts have died, but no one's really died A LOT and no one's entirely sure how much they can die. That's not to mention if there's a limit to Sigmarite as a material (since it is made from the core of the Old World and that old world is finite) or if there's a limit to Sigmar's power to keep them coming back and bound.

2. If they die and a seriously powerful entity or force can stop their soul from returning, they're presumed dead forever or at least their soul is trapped in such a manner they can't return. This happens a few times in the books under various circumstances. A few get dragged through a rift in reality caused by a Khorne Lord's special axe. A few get sucked into Nurgle's domain. Nagash is able to keep about 30+ of them pinned down until he got surprise attacked and lost concentration, but later he is absolutely able to entrap one and basically rape it forever.

In other circumstances lesser beings have tried to trap Stormcast souls and failed, so it's safe to say it takes a certain amount of power - and moreover Nagash is PROBABLY going to figure out exactly what fuckery Sigmar is using and stop him because he is the most pissed about things dying and not becoming part of his domain.


3. Some Stormcasts have been permanently altered because of shit that happened to them before. Thostos Bladestorm for one was permanently changed to Sigmarite (as in, his entire body, skin, everything) after getting caught in a vortex of Tzeentch-fueled magic and has never been the same since.

Having Daemonic Power on a unit of Chaos Knights is potent and allows them to punch very hard, Warriors and Chosen are good standbys and the hellcannon is an absolute bastard of an artillery piece.

I am making an AOS "competitive" rule pack based on the recent 40K ruleset. Here's what I have so far:

>Units with Leader cannot be targeted for shooting unless they are within 12” (units with Behemoth are exempt from this rule and can be targeted normally)
>Units that are selected to attack in the shooting phase that have any number of enemy within 3” can only attack enemy units within 3”
>Charging units always strike first in the combat phase
>No random turn order

Im in favour of warmachine style LOS but its too complicated to implement because it requires standardized base sizes and heights.

Apart from being a logistical hassle that requires constant janitorial work to ensure it stays up to date with new releases and rule changes, it discourages conversions and that's a big Fuck You to the people that love the hobby aspect.

As much as I would like to see it happen, I don't see GW ever going down that road.
