The World [2G 6S 10B]

>Magic, Medium (1 Silver 1 Bronze) [2G 5S 9B]
I kinda like the idea of magic and tech being equilevant, should lead to interesting solutions. Of course, the High magic says that magic is just better than current technology, so maybe instead of sending probes to Mars, we could just teleport there. Choices. In the end, I wanted them equilevant. Plus it would concentrate world destroying powers in hands of relatively few people effectively chosen randomly, not good.

>Beauty (1 Silver) [2G 4S 9B]
This is a bit complicated too, since if you just shift the bellcurve, aren't the people at the end still considered ugly? But this should guarantee no fatties, so it's worth it.

>Magical Races (1 Silver) [2G 3S 9B]

>Reality (1 Bronze) [2G 3S 8B]
I think gradual change would be better but decades or centuries for changes to happen is just too long.

>Politics (1 Gold) [1G 3S 8B]
Communism is justice, comrade.
>COMMUNISM HAS NEVER FUC-
>Effective (1 Bronze) [1G 3S 7B]
Now it does.

>Intelligence, Remove Stupid (1 Silver 1 Bronze) [1G 2S 6B]
We are going to space. Magic space. With space magic.

>Peace on Earth (1 Bronze) [1G 2S 5B]
Considering the amount of changes suddenly enforced by Reality, it's probably better to enforce peace too. Not many people wish for war anyway so it's not large edit. I'm far more hesitant about removing the possibility of crime. It's rather large mindfuck to the entire population of earth. It basically comes down to two questions, I think. 1) are the laws enacted by government just. 2) does the freedom to commit crime justify the cost in suffering the victims experience. I think the answer to 2) is no but 1) is not guaranteed. I guess you could use other changes to ensure that government enacts only just laws but others can attempt that exercise.

>Growth (1 Bronze) [1G 2S 4B]
No more flat, death to lolicons.

Personal:

>Amazing (1 Gold) [0G 2S 4B]
Magic, Beauty, Magical Race, Intelligence. I'm a dragon now. Always be dragon.

>Perfect, Mind, Ageless, Second Time (1 Silver 3 Bronze) [0G 1S 1B]
Pretty standard "don't wanna die" package. Only thing missing is not getting hurt or sick but I guess magic can handle that.

I got 1 Silver and 1 Bronze left and not much to spend it on. I guess I could introduce mutants or remove some concept, like 4chan, but eh.

>Command, Powerful (1 Silver 1 Bronze) [0G 0S 0B]
Used to tell people to piss off if they are bothering me, don't really have much interest in controlling people. Also the rich people I know are far more attached to their cash than something like true love.

I wrote too many words about this, so I get the bonus Bronze coin
>No punishment
I'll use this to shitpost nonstop on /pol/ as Communistic paradise becomes both mandatory and functional. From each according his mana, comrade.

So that is my magitech communism. Above us, the red star awaits. I'm a dragon wizard.

Has PPP+ came out yet? Did Italic-chan ever say what she's going to do with these extra dimensional fuckers if the update includes stuff from Sun/Moon?
>>
Imagine I ever got off my ass and wrote a CYOA, what sort of stuff would need to be in there?

Obviously, I'd require the main power choice, then a bundle of quest choices. Then maybe a choice of worlds or timelines, though that could be bundled into the quest line choice. Species. Trinkets. Perhaps a strength vs sanity choice.

Anything else?

Shitpost OC. Remember, taking the option that lets you take a power twice costs a choice itself.

So you will basically only have 1 power, but twice. As your third choice was spent on the option to take it twice, and you had to choose it 2 times. Thus all your options are spent.
>>

Very important. The game part of a cyoa is making choices. If there is one clearly superior choice, then there is only one choice. Then it is no longer a game.

Actually, I'm probably gonna make waifushit.

I think I've settled on a premise: you're an expert at a certain field of magic and a bunch of girls would like you to be their mentor, and you pick one.

Haven't decided on how far I want to go on this though. I have some several twists in mind but I don't want to really ruin it. I think I'm just going to keep it as a mentor-student sort of thing and not go into fetishbait territory.
>>
>>53083456
>Actually, I'm probably gonna make waifushit.

YES
>>
>>53083456
>Waifushit
>Not fetishbait
>>
>>53083456

It'd be cool if instead of just choosing a student, you need to choose an adventuring partner and then pick a couple of quests to go on with them.

But please, no point buy.
>>
>>53083380
>>53083408
It does matter a bit, if the choices are "Magic [1 point]: do anything you want" and "Science [100 points]: eventually invent fire. God will torment you for eternity for inventing atheism tho", you run into the problem that there's basically zero reason to take the second choice, ever, no matter how much more you prefer it.

Rather than spending hundred years trying to make everything perfect, I suggest going with gut feeling that everything is about ok, releasing it and maybe fixing something if people complain it's wildly imbalanced.

>>53083487
Not gonna be point buy, and I like that idea.

But it's strictly going to be a "magical tutor" sort of thing. I do like adventures, though. You can probably take her on the field to do magical thingies.
>>

>Magical tutor

You mean "Tutor fucking his waifu" right? And pleace write that lewd archangel again.
>>
>>53083380

>>

The writing's going to imply you're rather young for an expert in the field so yeah, probably.

What else is CYOA for?
>>
>>53083524

She's a student attending the magical academy you're at and the profs want you to tutor her for one reason or another. I haven't completely fleshed out the context but that's be basis of it. I probably won't even mention anything about romance throughout the CYOA.

Like I said before, it's just gonna be short. My goal is to have it done by the end of the fucking weekend. I just conceived this now.
>>
>>53083427
But it's not a game with winners and losers, it can be a story. Remember that thread a little while ago when everyone wanted to be a legshark? It was more interesting and funny than being a Violet Lantern despite being a much worse choice if you wanted to 'win'.

Sci-fi > High Fantasy >>> Rest

Tho a lot of sci-fi cyoas just go "Ok, there's flying cars and guns shoot lasers and spaceships and maybe hackers idk??? You can have a robot arm" and zero consideration how this might affect society, everything is just basically the same as it is now.

At least when people write fantasy, they figure out that hey, maybe elves are different from humans and then this is how the relations between the people and the nations would be. And this is how wizards would be fucking it all up.

Magic, Medium (1b, 1s) - Its magic. I don't have to explain shit.
Politics, effective (1b, 1g) - Rational anarchy. Nation states go kaput - basically the Culture. Effective means there's no inevitable tragedy of the commons.
Peace, Crime (1b, 1b) - And these two mean it doesn't turn into mad max.
Beauty (1s) - The closer to 100% pretty anime land we get, the better
Heroes (1s) - It starts out at 5%, but eventually the entire human race will be super. And then no one will be.
Intelligence, remove stupid (1b, 1s) - I mean, who wouldn't take these two? It makes literally everything better.
Magic races, one gender (1b, 1s) - Monstergirls.
(if i get the bonus 1b) Reality - to minimize disruption
total: (6b, 5s, 1g)

perfect, mind, ageless, second time's the charm (3b, 1s) - and here's it is. With all the combined int modifiers and super powers, I should be well into supergenius territory. The singularity will be within my grasp! And if it isn't, I get a redo.

Seems much too stretched. I'd try two per line to allow more space. I'd also try adding a bit more flair to the title. Giving it it's own box, Squashing it closer to the center, and adding some type of little detail, like a knock over skull or a stick of Dynamite on each side to attracted attention. The other anon is right when he said it doesn't draw you, but I'm pretty interested to see where this foes after reading this.

plus his controlling nature might "control" me into getting my life together.
If he manages to "make a man out of me" then I will have a big reason to be grateful and to respect him, which will probably cover his desire to be 'worshiped'
His family and children makes it easy to prove to my GF(that he will get to choose in exchange for helping me to get) that he is just my mentor.
Him buying stuff for me will help me get financially secure enough to have investments of my own to manage.

Name: Aimi Amane
A short-haired, blonde girl in her mid-late teens, remarkably pretty yet slightly tomboyish. Her petite build makes her smaller than most her age, and she is moderately athletic. A relatively laid-back and nonchalant individual, Aimi's interests mostly lie in music and art. Once a boy by the name of Alex, his body was stolen by an unknown stand and replaced by that of his sister, Aimi. The experience allowed her to awaken a stand of her own, which she intends to aid her in her quest to find her sister, find the one who stole her body and return it to her.

Her stand takes the form of a humanoid female to roughly her own proportions, seemingly constructed out of a series of silver rectangular rods spaced apart from one another to make it partially hollow. These rods are what forms the stand's four-fingered hands, and fan out atop the head to form four prongs akin to a fork. They are connected at the hips, shoulders, elbows, knees, wrists and ankles by wooden blocks, all of which have "Made in China" printed in small letters somewhere on them. A wooden plate serves as something akin to a mask for its head, onto which a smiley face is painted in what looks like pasta sauce.

JoJo build? You got it! Here's a villain for you!

Stand Name: 「Re:Re:」

Stand Power: [http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Calendar_Manipulation]

Destructive Power: B (-2)
Speed: A (-2)
Range: B (-2)
Durability: D (-1)
Precision: A (-2)
Development Potential: A (-2)
「Re:Re:」gets 3 extra points, as a Villain's stand.
「Re:Re:」appears as a humanoid figure entirely wrapped in constantly-shifting ticker tape, which it uses as "tentacles" to grab others, as well as manifest its power. In animated format, this is accomplished by one roll waving over the screen, with the picture on it ultimately filling the screen. Right now, its powers are limited to changing the days of the calendar, making it so that the specific "day" it is is in constant flux. Right now, it's at a "National" level of influence, meaning that it can't affect the entire world by changing Christmas, but it can change the days of things like national holidays. Only other Stand users will find this unusual; Ordinary people won't care if they have every day off of work because of constant 4th of July parties, or consider it unusual at all.

It can also rearrange and change the day of the week. This doesn't change any events that have occurred, but it does change what is expected of someone on a certain day: For example, if the JoJo has a Jojob from Monday to Friday and he's out on Sunday, 「Re:Re:」can change the day to Monday so that the JoJo loses a day of work. His boss'll be angry, too, if it happens enough - provided he's not a Stand user as well and can see through it.

Finally, this isn't the end for 「Re:Re:」: It has tremendous development potential, inserting its ticker-tape tendrils into the threads of time, potentially learning to change other things besides the simple days of the calendar. A bizarre power for a very Bizarre adventure.

Stand User in the next post.

Exactly the Same (-0)
Villain (-3)
Do You Even Pose? (-1)
Sharp Dresser (-1)

Alain Parsons is a projectionist for a movie theater in Chicago, and his life has been one large series of disappointments. His parents divorced when he was three, and from then on, the only time he'd ever get to see both of them together was on his birthday. Thus, he would often wish that his birthday lasted forever, or happened every day, or something that'd make that brief slice of happiness last longer.

Of course, growing up in a divided home didn't do wonders for his social life, either. From elementary school onwards, he was a loner - how could he invite people over to his house, only to have them ask where his mom or dad was? Or why he was at a different house every other week?

Finally, in high school, everything broke. Quite literally - On a school trip to the Natural History museum, his mother showed up in an attempt to spirit him away after the trip was done. A scuffle ensued, and in the middle of it, Alain was tossed into a glass case containing examples of Ancient Egyptian weapons - including a very unique arrow, which ended up cutting him deeply.

When he woke up, a strange man stood over him. About as tall as an adult, he had no face - just a mass of ever-shifting movie tapes. He would just「stand」in the room, the doctors and nurses actually passing through him. Alain figured he'd finally cracked and created an imaginary friend, but his perception changed on the next birthday he had. When he made his customary wish for every day to be his birthday, violent tendrils of movie tape shot out from his normally docile friend - and his parents threw him another party the next day.

His new power was entertaining for a bit, but it never really impacted his life in the positive way he wanted it to. For example, he repeated his Senior Prom twenty times in an attempt to get a date for at least one of them, and failing every time. He only stopped when he read in the school's newspaper that the PTA was growing upset because of the repeated proms, and worried that there wouldn't be enough money for the graduation party at the end of the year. This eventuality, though, gave him another idea. If he couldn't make his own life better with his power, he could sure as hell make other people's lives shit!

Making them throw parties every day until they ran out of money? Easy! Having them work every day until they collapse? Piece of cake! He loved toying with other people until they broke, and nobody would ever know that it was him! Of course, he had no special skills, and he still needed to support himself. He took a low-skill job ad a projectionist at a theater, and now one of his favorite tricks to play is to repeat the opening day of a movie for weeks to sap people's pockets dry and net himself a nice bonus from all the cash flow into the theater. And he's still learning more things that he and「Re:Re:」can do...

If he gets any hint that someone's onto him, he'll try to stay as far in the background as possible while making their life hell. He can obstruct them with sudden parades, sap their finances and make them lose their job, and target their families to exhaustion. You've got to be willing to give up a lot to beat this guy.

>Gahahahaha! Your mother's in the hospital with exhaustion! You've missed so much work, no company in the whole country would consider hiring you! Your friends hate you for blowing them off for months! And you still dare to resist? You might... might just be the one I'll enjoy breaking the most, yet! Gahya!

I happen to be a winged naga. A very unusual creature born from an ill-fated love between the Goddess Ariella and a great serpent. I fly through the clouds searching for my place in the world and trying to do good things for people. I'm usually very peaceful, but can fight if I have too. Even though I seem immortal, I actually have a weak spot my belly-button.

>Incredible Vegetable
I travel to the plant and drive away the bugs with rain and lightning. Then I study it to try and unlock it's secrets. I use my knowledge of potions and what I learn from the plant to make a potion from one of the leaves that gives me Healer magic. I take the seeds to some monks who I think will bring the plants back and not abuse them.
>Whales in the Sky
I spend time with the whales to find out and fight out what's happening. Hopefully I can use what they tell me to make a potion to cure their sickness.
>The Kyphian Mines
To cure the whales, I need a artifact from the Kyphians. When I arrive at the old Kyphian mines, I here about the missing pioneers. I search for them as I look for the artifact to cure the whales.
>A Divine Affair
The Goddess Lenya notices my beauty and sees me trying to use my gifts for good. She tries very hard to convince me to live with her in her realm of flowers and cloud castles. But because of my wandering ways, I can't settle down for good. Not even with a Goddess. We part ways amicably and she teaches me more about healing magic before I go. This is where I get the Medicus ability.
>The Fire Witch
I follow the Witch from high above in the clouds. I discover her coven having a meeting that seems pretty sketchy. The next time she's alone I ambush her and wrap her up in my coils so I can question her about what's going on. I report the questionable coven to local paladin order, but conveniently forget to mention the Fire Witch and help get her back to her old job with Prince Kasper. She teaches me fire magic as thanks, since she didn't get along with the dark witches anyway. That's how I learn Fire Mage magic.

>Devil Without a Cause
I fly up to the Elemental and explain to him that he's causing problems for other people by staying here, and that there's other Elementals for him to talk to in other parts of the universe. I help get him to trust me by doing some tricks with the fire magic I already know. After convincing him to move on, he teaches me more fire magic to thank me for telling him where the other elementals are. That's how I advance to Lord of the Inferno.
>Always Read the Manual
To convince the Fire Elemental to move on, I have to learn about the plane where the great elementals live. Turns out there's a King who's looking for a book about ruling. It's lost a great ancient library. I figure I can find something about elementals while searching for his book. This helps with the other quest.
>Boss Monster
I use my powers to fight the beastman horde and their evil leader. People who I've helped join in the fight against evil. Ariella and Lenya give me a boon to help survive the fight. This is where I get Serpent's Reflexes. My storm powers increase to Stormcaller from me using them so much for this.
>A Peaceful Village
>Chesswolf
>Solve My Riddle
These 3 are a bit trickier. I do my best to solve each one as best I can, but as I'm not a great solver, I also seek the help of other heroes to help with these.
>Door to Door
Being a great heroine, I'm chosen as a ambassador to the new world. I travel through the door and have new adventure and meet new people. I return now and then to report what I find to the old world.

Could the door to another world be to another cyoa world?

If I went to other cyoa world as Palcadia, it'd be the Alt History one where I made Sitmut-Nefert and we had that rp. I'd fit in perfect there.

Elf-hating is a tangentially meme pushed by polfags and always has been.

That has absolutely not been the popular perception of Vikings, is not today, and absolutely is not with anyone who has the slightest modicum of intelligence. They were seen as barbarians during the time when they dominated all of Europe, and then were later romanticized for their strength. A game portraying Vikings mostly as cultured politicians and explorers in the post-roman period came out, like, a week ago.

Also, your historical understanding is *completely* inaccurate. For the actual Viking age they were largely viewed as iron-fisted, effective tyrants, because after the Norse conquered an area they generally adopted a split-off culture (normans in conquered areas of France, lombards in conquered areas of Italy, visigoths in Spain) while those who continued raiding from Denmark and Norway remained the vision of 'Norse'. In the romantic period, Vikings came to be viewed as a noble people who were highly cultured, which is reflected in many pieces from England that portray Vikings as 'noble savages' that filled the void after conquering Rome. The modern 'mindless barbarian' perception is the result of entertainment industries warping Vikings into generic mentally retarded badass #487123812, because trading, exploring, managing nations and politics are fucking boring and for stupid pussies who don't like putting on horned helmets and chopping the entire country of England in half.

>Pieces from England
I'm not surprised, considering the northern half of England is full of viking descendents. Seriously, apparently women in/near the Daneslaw loved some vikings, so it wasn't even a rape deal. Though as has been noted, it's fairly hard to distinguish Anglo-Saxon blood from Danish blood fully, due to those tribes coming from areas that overlapped with Danish ones.

Okay, first of all, almost all of Europe is 'viking descendents'. You know that 'Saxon' is the old term for German, right? The word 'Anglo-saxon' came about when Saxons conquered England. And then the Great Heathen Army conquered all of England for about three decades. And then Norse living in Normandy after Rollo conquered it conquered England AGAIN. Most places in Europe were conquered multiple times by multiple different nations. Southern Italy was held by Lomards, Normans, Muslims, Greeks, Spanish, and Germans at different points throughout its history. I've literally been on 4chan for nine goddamn years, and /tg/ for about seven of those. Next year, I will have been here for a decade of my life. Christ.

Expeditions: Viking. I bought and played it, the game is really very good (with the exception of a couple handwaves like 'you can just kinda speak the language here' and mediocre voice acting). It's got a very historically accurate setting and a great sense of place, with fun and rewarding gameplay. Would recommend, with the caveat that they released it too early and it's *very* buggy. Deaf people are notoriously arrogant and well-known for being insular and trying to form their own 'culture' and identity so they can prove they're just plain better than everyone else. It was a combination of things that made Rome call. Pointing to one single cause and saying "this is why Rome fell" misses this point. The barbarians certainly tore them a new one, but Rome was already rotting from within when the barbarians poured in. Feminism, faggotry, and the stink of corruption were rampant. It all came together and made Rome fall.

I would liken it to what is happening in Europe. Muslim invaders (the barbarians) are pouring in, while feminists, SJWs, leftist cucks, faggots, and other such scum weaken us from within. If our societies were not already rotting from within then we would annihilate the Muslim scourge with ease.

Yeah, there's irony to be had in Rome falling because of two things that were so instrumental in modern society, Germanics and Christianity.

It's really less about these things being innately negative so much as them being incapable of preserving the old society, and the lack of guarantee that the ones that replace the old one will be just as good. We can look to the Middle East now and tell that, for the foreseeable future, humanity is NOT in good hands.

>>
>>53089134
A new thing doesn't mean the old thing is preserved. We're already talking about Rome, so I'll mention that Rome's fall did not create any societies as great as it in the immediate, nor did anything like Rome persevere in the west (nor in the east after its later fall.)

If your argument is simply that human civilization will continue, then you are correct. Yet that doesn't mean the new civilization will be any good, or tolerable. Look at the Middle East now and say you want to live there.

Cause they weren't advanced. We're literally at a point where a dozen guys in the Western world could turn the Earth barren with a press of a button.

Emancipation of women leads to demographic withering, which is literally the worst thing you can do to your society. As long as a certain number of children is born, I don't care how it happens.

That said, placing women in positions of power is a great way to turn your society soft. There's a reason no relevant societies were matriarchies.

East Asians only edge whites out ever-so-slightly in average IQs.

Europeans in-general are the most creative / innovative people(s) on the planet.
Switzerland has been producing the most inventive technologies for years.

Intelligence is only a facet of what really matters. A big one, but not the sole contributor to why the West dominates still to this day.
>>
>>53089252
East Asians are retarded. They could have easily taken over the world but didn't. The Chinese specifically. Their naval fleet alone would have granted them global naval domination.

They had a good thing going in their little slice of heaven though so I can't really blame them.

Well Europe's rise happened to occur at exactly the same time that the new Chinese Emperor started to discourage exploration and technological innovation, which were going very well in China beforehand, and enter a long era of isolation and inward focus.

Basically, if not for that idiot Emperor, Asia and Europe would have both ascended at roughly the same time and would have been competitors, instead of it just being "Europe conquers EVERYTHING!" until recently.

East Asians and the Chinese especially, just can't project power out of their respective mainlands, like look at china for instance, you got nothing but desert to the northwest, mountainous valley of angry and rapey nomadic steppes people to the immediate north, disease ridden jungle to the south and the fucking Himalayan mountain range to the southwest. Sailing by boat is not so easy either, southeast is filled with little tiny islands that are worth nothing to colonize when the Chinese first make contact there, east is mainly cuntblocked by the Korean peninsula and the Japan, which are also pretty poor in resources.

The only border that offers a easy way of expansion is the northeastern plains of Manchuria, where all invaders that would fuck up the Chinks usually show up from.
>>
>>53089429
Good god you're a moron. He claimed the Great Divergence CAUSED Europe to pull ahead of every else. That's retarded because the Great Divergence is the term for Europe pulling ahead of everyone else. If we take into account the factors contributing to their rise above the rest, and label the 'Great Divergence' as the sum total of it, it being a phenomenon in itself, it kinda did.

Whatever caused the mass movement of the West was responsible for them running the planet in influence.
You're basically arguing the same thing.
>>
>>53089447
You're as much of an idiot as he is, maybe even more so.

The Great Divergence isn't even something one can properly define. It's still debated.
>>
>>53089473
That's the thing, though. As I said plainly before, the Great Divergence in and of itself is the phenomenon, not the actual causes the lead to it.

I am arguing that his terminology was wrong, that he can't claim 'The Great Divergence did it', because it isn't any of the actual causes/factors that lead to a divergence occurring. See what I'm trying to tell him?
>>

Does that matter? I'm sure my ancestors liked their culture but I have barely anything in common with anyone who lived 1,000 years back and the values they upheld are considered rubbish today by anyone with two brain cells to rub together, /pol/ included.

The only thing that matters to me is quality of life, if the quality of life continues to improve then after I die I'll be happy with that, and given that we're living in one of the most prosperous times of all human history with the exception of a few petty dictators and religious shitholes I'm sure people will be fine.

Culture isn't anything special, it's certainly not something to idolize. It's practically thrown away and reworked every generation. what makes this culture any different?

Yes it does. Because the main reason people wish to preserve their culture is because they want that standard of life, that set of ethics and beliefs, all of the things that make up a culture to be experienced by their children. People normally care about their children.

Will you have children? This is also an important question.

There's totally a reason for me to be upset about it. Islamic culture comes with a whole bunch of other things, such as the religion, the language, usually the Arab identity, etc. Those things are completely repulsive to me.

Furthermore, as relevant for >>53089418 :

Rapid reproduction and xenophobia are not Islamic values by any means. Only the West has categorically denounced these values - everyone else practices them to a greater or lesser extent. That's entirely inane, but I'll indulge you. Every individual must see society as a give and take relationship - they are required to give up some of their natural rights in exchange for benefits from society. Women must give up freedom to work in exchange for a lifetime without it, living luxuriously in the home. Undermining the give-and-take nature of society reduces its productivity and leads to collapse.

You think that this phenomenon is universal, that's cute. Many places are resisting the West. Eastern Europe is doing it. Conservative America is doing it. Japan has stayed as racist as they were in WWII, now they just don't invade their neighbours. Progressivism is not a concept known to Japanese youth.

This poison is yours.

If it's not to derivative, find an overall theme for your characters, then pick a subtheme per character. Kinda cliche, but it works.

Since you're doing a mage school, pick an element, major, extracurricular, emotion, or whatever. Then tie in other nuances.

Modern radical Islam is worse in terms of its treatment of women than any of those things I listed. I think that, at least, the current societal structure could be retained, if men were encouraged to serve in the military and women were encouraged to have a certain number of children - where fulfilling these requirements made you a citizen with full voting rights.

Man's greatest contribution to society is their aggressive, assertive nature, and Womans' greatest contribution to society - what I actually believe to be the most pivotal role of all - is childbirth. Both of these experiences also foster mental maturity.

Create a state that enables those who seek strength, and a culture that glorifies strength. Those who do not have the will to seek it out on their own initiative, due to being beaten down mentally or physically shall not do so and cannot be expected to.

He mentioned that the roman empire and Napoleonic france were good examples of this. I'm betting he would like nazi Germany (in relative terms) and hate welfare states (Why should we enable those without the will to seek out their own improvement, it only drags down the best and all of society as a result)

You're right, but Women's "low-tier labor" usually involves stuff around the home, which they tend to be better at - in economic terms, specialization of the household economy. Economic prosperity for men and women in a household usually goes hand in hand - men have to give up much of their income to sustain their families (in ideal conditions).

>>53090144
See, this is why no one can call themselves a Nietzschean, really - because to follow him blindly is to fail to follow his ideas of independence.

Nietzsche's ideals can be applied in any number of ways. In Rome or Napoleonic France (both states he admired) the irredeemably weak were directed by the strong in their labors. Nietzsche makes the reccomendation to the modern strong to live independently away from society as radical individualists like Varg.

The only constant to be held is that Strength is truth, and that weakness is to be condemned whenever possible. Men are to live their lives constantly seeking to improve, but never restraining themselves - instead being positive about all that makes them them. If you can embody that principle, and live as a strong individual that does as benefits him, then you get to decide how to apply Nietzsche's ideals - as you are the Ubermensch.

But most don't make it that far.

They improve upon their weaknesses. You're right, I should've been more specific - a CEO shouldn't feel bad for being good with money when faced with a liberal protestor, an athlete shouldn't feel bad for being strong when faced with a fat man. Both should despise their lessers for their lack of will and effort.

Any inherent and inborn negatives are to be overcome - Nietzsche outright states that "man is a thing to be overcome". But the positive impulses for strength, the "Will to power" that drives us to do better at what we are good at, to become stronger - this is what we must enable. This is what makes men great.

So my abilities have layers. First is that I can fly and attack with a bow, never missing and never running out of arrows, so I can be out of an enemy's range indefinitely unless they can either fly or attack with projectiles themselves. Secondly, I cannot be seen or heard. The only way I can be noticed is if something touches me, smells me, or has a kind of 6th sense (In addition, since I can tame wild animals I'm hoping they'll mask my scent). Thirdly, I have the largest team possible to hopefully keep enemies too busy to notice me (in addition to my hoard of wild animals helping them) and I have miracle level healing so they won't die unless we're in some terrible situation.

My 3 companions are a guy who's strong in person to person combat, a guy who's strong in person to group combat, and another person that's invisible but she can summon. In theory, the two attackers will be the main assault and if the enemy is clever (but without 6th sense), they'll notice the invisible summoner and think that's the trick to our teams composition. I'm hoping few, if none, would guess I have an ace in the hole buried under an ace in the hole.

This mother fucker lived in a huge fucking tub that he just over turned in some alley somewhere, nigger didn't have anything in there but his lantern and philosopher's toga. That right you faggot, a philosopher's toga. Why did he have a philosopher's toga? maybe because this hard ass son of a bitch was a fucking Philosopher, you special ed flamboyant. This fucker would go to the Forum and talk smack about all the other faggot's who thought they could speak in ass backwards riddles and sound all knowing. You hear of Aristotle? More like Aristoddler-dick. He once tried to define a man as a featherless bi-ped, and while all the other scrotum fondling faggots were patting him the back and fondling his shriveled up raisins Diogenes went out and found a chicken. He plucked that nigger and brought it back to the Forum and told everyone "Here is Aristotle's man!" Chances are he proceeded to cram that chicken so far up Aristupid's ass that it invented the term chicken shit, but no one wanted to wright that nasty shit down. Then Plato tried to go off on some double chromosome deluxe tangent about cups and cupness predating cups or some asinine bullshit like that. Diogenes wasn't having any of that shit. He went right up to Plato and his faggot cup and asked that shit face if the cup was empty. Being the ass munching dip shit he is Plato tells him yeah, that shit's empty bruv. So then Diogenes asks him where the emptiness that predates the empty cup is and Plato's OS just shuts the fuck down. Probably started smoking from the ears like some gay ass looney toons shit too. Good old Dio just taps the now brain dead faggot on the head and tells him "Here, I think you will find your emptiness. This Fuck invented the bird. you ever flip somebody off? Thank this guy. If the Ubermensch wills it, then yes. But again - such a condition is to be despised. To say "You deserve this, despite being weak" - this creates no incentives for men to grow strong. If anything, it glorifies and enables weakness - the exact problem we have today with the welfare state.

If on the other hand we encourage a total despising of weakness, we will put pressures on those that are weak with potential to improve themselves - a totally desirable solution. To allow for those that could bring themselves to greatness to be content with mediocrity - to cause weakness in those that could be strong - this is the only evil in the world.

The example of the Romans and the Hellenics serves us well - we see many slaveborn philosophers and generals. The same can be said for the efforts of Napoleon, who sought to create structures that would facilitate the rise of those with a great will through his Imperial system.

We can also see the failures of those who have legitimized weakness - within modern America, the welfare class has become entirely content. None among them experience pressure to aspire for more. The strong are made to feel guilt for their success, and have paradoxically become the slaves of this illegitimate society.

There's a difference between doing the motions and actually changing the discussion. See, it was old /tg/'s defense mechanism to always take troll bait and wholly repurpose it into a /tg/-related thread. What is happening here is more or less appeasement to excuse the presence of a completely unhelpful (and potentially harmful) discussion. Maybe the participants are too new to /tg/ to remember, but CYOAs have historically had a tumultuous existence, often being banned on /d/ or /tg/ when we fell out of favor of whatever mod lead was in power. We even had a period where both boards banned CYOAs but couldn't come to a concensus on which one should allow them again.

The fact that the discussion still goes full steam exposes how new they are to the board. The old guard doesn't want to risk having CYOAs banned ever again, but newfags don't give a fuck, especially the cancerous /pol/ immigrants who don't share the /tg/ spirit of honoring and promoting content creators. The health of the board doesn't matter to those who think they own everything.

tl;dr - Please make the CYOA but make sure it eats the current discussions.
>>
>>53090821
>tl;dr - Please make the CYOA but make sure it eats the current discussions.

Old /tg/ knew how to cannibalize trolls real well, but it largely depended on a bunch of elegan/tg/entlemen flooding the thread in whichever direction that ended up prevailing. It worked because a great deal of us played tabletop RPGs and know how to redirect conversations to meet our GMing needs.

Whatever old guards are left know that some of the immigrants are productive. But the vast majority don't promote the environment that essentially automatically promoted any content. Case in point, how often have you seen this image used in the last 3 years?

>>53090859
You guys have no idea what you're missing out on. STORYTIME threads were fucking amazing - search the suptg archives. Spontaneous rap battles were just a thing that would happen. And holy fuck do I miss people like Golden Neckbeard.
>>
>>53090923
Fair enough. Part of it has to be a necessary consequence of /tg/ getting larger and of /cyoag/ being /cyoag/ - there are many, many tangents to a topic so broad as CYOAs, and with many people here there are at least 1 or 2 that have the knowledge and the autism to go down any given tangent to this degree.

Ultimately, CYOAs will always serve as a platform to enable further discussion of any given related issue because that's what they were designed to do, in a way - give a person power to enact their values in a way that they didn't have before. Discussion over the validity of said actions is natural, in its own way.
>>
>>53090965
/tg/'s dissolution is actually a consequence of three things:

>Nazi mod (I think around 2009?)
>The /pol/ raids about a year before Gamergate
>A lot of old guard getting bogged down with real life and having families

/cyoag/ obviously wasn't a thing when CYOAs were first posted, but those predecessor threads were still steeped in /tg/'s content-promoting spirit. That's why Liminal's first CYOAs were well received, while now the response is dominated by shitposting.

The rate of OC now is higher than what it was in the first year. Back then we knew to shut our autism when it would choke out any willingness for OC. However, the rate isn't that much higher now - we still can't afford to choke out OC. And it's not like old /tg/ wasn't autistic. Hell, we were known to be fucking autistic, but at least we didn't bar the door shut whenever we felt like splerging it up.

Also my memory is failing me. It should be STORYTIEM, not STORYTIME.
>>
>>53091106
True, though I'd say that when OC shows up, people mostly drop their autism and focus on it.

And on the "/pol/ raids" - it wasn't just us, you had left-wing people trying to subvert /tg/ culture here too. I remember that year, with some dude starting an HFY thread on /pol/ because his one on /tg/ got shat up with people going COLONIALISM COLONIALISM COLONIALISM. Didn't believe it till I saw it.

Ultimately, it's just like 40k. The conflict has dragged on so long that there are no good guys, and no one side is totally legitimate or illegitimate.
>>
>>53091106
Minor correction, Nazimod appeared around the summer of 2010 right after a round of janitor application emails, I know this because Ruby Quest ended either at the end of 2009 or in the first few months of '10, and Joan quest started around the beginning of summer, the first thing the nazimod did was perma ban almost all picture/art based quest authors on /tg/ due to their furry content, Joan quest was notable for this considering one of the main characters was a sergal. Which in turn kicked off the exodus of the art based quest authors and the formation of /tgchan/.

For a time between '10 to '11, management quests became quite popular on /tg/.

I remember it taking place sometime in 2011, I think around November, I believe the nazimod banned him for avatarfagging with touhou pics and discussing min/max characters, at first it was a temp ban, but he had to start angry autistic thread shit talking about the mod, so he was perma banned, that only pissed him off even more so he kept copypasting this angry autistic splerg post over and over again 11 times before giving up.

Often, but not always.

I guess it depends on what we define as immigrant. I came here back in 2008, but my first board was /c/ back in ye olde days of 2004.

I'd been to 4chan off and on since 2007, just didn't really see enough threads to make it stick until early 2009.

But yeah. Most people here aren't going to be immigrants. A lot of people care about politics these days, more than at any other time in recent decades. Even most grognards are going to have some kind of view on that topic, and it'll be brought out when someone starts advocating for the opposite. This is especially true here because our shitposters have frequently liked to use SJW shit to attack CYOAs, like that time two and a half threads were consumed because someone threw a fit over a CYOA not allowing gay marriage and kept insisting the maker was a homophobe.

I'd like to say we had enough sense to not talk in ways that would disturb the beehive, but I'm pretty sure our autism back in the day wrecked threads sometimes anyways.

Also fuck 2004 was a long time ago.

Frog has nice boobs but you can't beat a chuuni loli.
Your text looks stretched out or like you saved and resaved a jpeg ten times. And why do you have so many spelling mistakes I thought you were from Florida
