This is probably bait, but they do say it's reinforcement. And let's be honest, thr situation isn't the same. Mankind isn't ROFLstomping species by the dozen and conquering worlds faster than remembrancers can keep up with.
SM don't have the luxury of spitting on any kind of reinforcements, they'll always be needed, so no chance of them being phased out, and finally, fucking nobody knows about the Thunder Warriors in 40k except maybe the Custodes.
Remember that even SM have a very spotty account of the HH AT BEST, so the Unification Wars is just plain unknown to them.

Pretty much my opinion too. Cool final battle, you don't see that often, and for once togglable plot armour. Also, based Tudyk continues to make everything better. First two acts were REALLY meh, though, and I didn't even bother to learn any of the names the characters were so forgettable. It depends a lot on how Synapse works. Smaller might be better to help mitigate battleship and spread out your assaults though, especially since blasts can only hit 1 unit

If you're going for a 100 hormagaunts (wew), 5 or 4 swarms of 25/20 each sounds ideal.

Well, you have a couple issues:
A) Go back and read each unit datasheet. You can only give chimeras to the ones that say "This unit can take a dedicated transport"
B) You have no HQ. A platoon Command Squad is not an HQ, its just part of the troops slot of the infantry platoon it leads. Your looking for a company command squad or a tank commander
3) Never squadron tanks of different types unless that squadron has a tank commander leading it.

Trying to decide which army I'm going to play for 8th. Right now I have Eldar, Harlequins, and Dark Eldar (usually played as Ynnari).

My current top picks are:

-Forge World corrupted by Nurgle (to take advantage of the new starter), cultists, plague marines, maybe a renegade knight.

-AdMech - I just really like the models and almost played a WarCon.

-Tau based around the models that make up an Optimized Stealth Cadre

So this weekend saw my Guard go against some grey knights. Featuring apparently the world's most forgettable Leman Russ ever. If the speculation about how weapons are translated to the new rules pans out, that's probably going to be 2D6 shots, S 6, AP -1, D 1, Ignores Cover.

But a battle-cannon will be 2D6 shots, S 8, AP -2 and probably D3 damage too, making it better against literally everything. In the old rules the exterminator was better against targets with really good cover saves and middling armour, but with an extra point of AP effectively giving you ignores cover it doesn't seem to have a niche any more. Hopefully it will be good value or able to fire on the move or something.

I mean, not exactly a joke, but they're certainly capable of going against something like the Eldar or Dark Eldar and probably wiping them out if they're willing to use some of their toys. Bear in mind the 55pt Grav-kataphrons that melt pretty much everything including Guilliman are Troops choices because they're expended by the tens of millions carelessly, since they're the Admech's Heavy Weapon equivalent. Their Baneblade equivalent can tank a Warlord Titan for three Alpha Strikes while tossing out sonic waves that kill pretty much anything not a Titan. The Admech is one of the only factions with a proper sense of scale, and thousands of worlds dedicated entirely to research and industry is a truly insane production base. They command the entirety of the Titan Legions, have their own specialised ship squadrons and can probably use most of the Navy in a pinch. Everything Cawl has done was one Archmagos. Another rebuilt a ship that one miss kills Eldar battleships and his nemesis rejuvenated and snuffed out suns. The Synod of Mars alone has thousands of Archmagi and High Magi, each with their own secrets.

And none of that will ever be used because the writers have absolutely no sense of scale themselves and thinks that the fate of the galaxy is best decided by four or five people hitting each other with sticks, while Cawl does all the actual work commanding sieges, fleet actions and the entire rest of the battle.
