Try getting a game with Nobz in a Naut. No-one, not even footslogging DE (and we know how fucking busted they are) is going to give you the time of day. Even Nobz outside of a Naut are going to get you dirty looks.

The list I typically take is Trukkboyz, Kommandos, Burna Boyz on foot, Zagstrukk for a HQ, two Blitz-Bombas and the rest split between Kans and Flash Gitz. People still bitch and moan though. It's a hard life being an Ork player in 8th, especially since we swept the LVO for the 3rd year running.

Looking forward to being able to play my Tau vs Orks and not hate myself.

So I got an army idea for you guys, need some feedback.

Ever since the new Sisters of Silence lore came out I'm considering doing a guard force built around the idea they are recruited from the normal human population on these planets where SoS enclaves are located and used to support Sisters when they go out to kick psyker/daemon ass (because SoS by themselves is so fucking limited).

Due to what is basically immersion therapy they don't feel the same disgust that normal humans feel since they live their entire lives near pariahs and Sisters basically use them to breed the Pariah gene. As a bonus bit of grimdark(depending on your perspective) any male Pariahs that are born can't leave the planet and are used solely for breeding, since men can impregnate as many women as it takes for their dick to get hard but women can only get pregnant once every 9 months. There is also a belief, not directly supported by the SoS or the planetary government, that Pariahs are the true evolution of mankind, not Psykers. Thus, the men and women of this planet an extreme dislike, or even hatred of Psykers, seeing them as what's destroying Humanity as well as the Galaxy.

Because they live on a planet full of pariahs they don't have to do the whole "Faith in the Emperor keeps me safe from Daemons" thing the rest of the human race has to do, so the Imperial Truth flourishes on the planet, heavily encouraged by the Sisters themselves. They basically follow the same values as some of the SM in that they view the Emperor as the height of the human species, but not divine in any way.

I'm also considering making the planetary society Matriarchal based, just because the whole planet basically serves the Sisters and maybe society developed towards "women are leaders" direction.

Maybe each Guard squad led by a SoS wannabe (not a pariah, but a SoS/Guardsmen conversion or something). Army-wise I would always have a SoS detachment, even if there aren't any psykers in the other army.

Typically GW shops receive any orders on the same day as their regular weekly shipments. Unless it's some direct-order thing they didn't have in the main warehouse, you'll never have to wait more than two weeks for an order being shipped to a GW store.

If the planet isn't in Imperial Control, and isn't an Astartes recruiting world, then it is heretical and to be purged. Only Forgeworlds and Astartes worlds are exempt from the Ecclisiarchy's influence, and even then it is only grudgingly. There's a warband that will use raptors and assault fortresses to kill everyone inside and take it for themselves, then fortify it as they wait for the bigger invasion force that was going after the original inhabitants. An example being that they once slew an entire chapter, stole their fortress monastery, and waited for the Tyranids that were on their way so that they could mow them down from defensive positions, guaranteeing blood was spilled.

Not him, but you're only partially right. Melee IS the best form of combat and the quickest way of ranking up favor, but guns and artillery are still appreciated for their tactical value.

And Berzerkers aren't 'angry all the time', the Nails cause them an extreme adrenaline rush when in combat which gives them a combination of rabid, animalistic rage and the euphoric joy of a warrior who knows all is right in the world. After battle ends they're left like broken husks from the exhaustion for long periods of time. After a while though, they become extremely restless and hyperactive, with increasing danger of going out of control if not presented with glorious battle in time.

They're all of course followers of Khorne, but very few are fanatical to the same degree Kharn is.

There are three major factions in the Caliban uprising. Luther is just a "Make Caliban Great Again" proponent. Army fluff time?

The 422nd Marcossan Infantry hailing from the Hive World of Marcossa Prime, a moderately sized Hive World that still consists of a population numbering in the hundreds of billions.
The Imperial Guard find themselves commanded by the Nobles that disowned or too poorly-connected for a Navy career and that minute portion of the Hive that might be considered 'middle class'. The rank and file are the masses. Gangers, factorum workers, beggars, entire families. The promise of regular food gets a lot of applicants. When meeting their quotas the recruitment office is not picky, having two arms and two legs get you in. If it were up to the ruling caste, that'd be it, chuck a lasgun in their arms if that and send them off. But unflinching Administratum standards for a tithe mean they have to at least spend some amount on the training and equipment of those desperate sorry bastards.

Regiments supplied from Marcossa Prime alone make up roughly half of the active regiments in the entire subsector. there may be a Vostroyan Mechanized regiment that carries the day on one world, or the Jes-Rai Airborne Death Squads that provide the crucial victory on another ... it is almost always the Marcossan that does the majority of the fighting and dying on these planet-wide conflicts.


I've gone for a Brit-WWI vibe. Mass infantry, extensive fortifications, sandbag barricades and razorwire wherever I can. Spare Catachan (and the occasional female) heads allow some variety, like gang colours. Naming each individual guardsman and their squad denomination as I paint them has not worked as a coping strategy, but I continue.

Played a nice, easy 750 point "Not really shooting for any particular victory condition" game of Guard vs Dark Angels. Guard won, though in hindsight I feel I should have knocked off a tank instead of the infantry platoon off my list to lower my 1000 points list to a proper 750.

It was a curbstomp, but to be fair that was at least partially the dice's fault. Example: 3 Terminators when to work on a Chimera with power fists and a chain fist. 9 attacks at strength 8, AP1, and in one case armorbane. End result? 7 attacks missed, 2 connected, rolled double 1s.

Yes. 3 Terminators failed to kill a single IFV in close combat. It was...humiliating...for those particular troops.

If it makes you feel better, this game I had about 12 conscripts overwatch a tzeentch sorcerer on a disk with 24 overwatch shots, hit with 10 wounded with 6 and killed him. Then I charged another sorcerer, he killed one of my priest and 5 guardsmen before he got pushed to death by 8 guys

My Green Beans and their Space-Shermans come from a very successful Agri-world known for it's constant political strife. Most of the vegetables, fruits, and even some grains are artificially grown in hydroponics labs in large manufactorum complexes scattered across the continents. Meat is farmed from Grox that are grown more traditionally in the fields outside the manufactorums. The political strife is, naturally, a result of the various pesticides, phosphates, and preservative byproducts made in the manufactorums poisoning the water and foliage that the grox herders rely on for income. It's a bit of an issue, when the same city-dwellers ruining your livelyhood keep showing up to demand your best meat to go with their vegetables in the MRE's you send into the depths of space never to be seen or compensated for ever again.

So these are the guys culled from the PDF that must patrol the semi-open fields and put down regular farmer rebellions and collect the Meat-taxes for the planets famous MRE's.
