No, he's just naturally stupid/cringy.
>>52904552
I think a lot of people overestimate how bad it is to deal with something once a week/year. I was kind of intending a lot of people to just pick level 3 in strength/scales or breath and then just metaphorically take the trash out once a week by picking enemies weak to their combat style.
>>52904773
>>52904988
Actually, I think that NEETdom is something which we should all aspire to, but I wanted people to have to work for it a little because I always enjoyed a good challenge in my CYOAs.

My next CYOA is going to be an academy CYOA that gives you lots of powers for nothing, so hopefully it won't fuck up too badly. Although you'll have to balance your academics/new powers with romances instead of just getting handed both, so who knows. I honestly just don't have it in me to make something with no bite or experimentation to it.

Yo, anyone who's read the Necromancer CYOA, can you clarify this option for me? Does the number of attacking undead apply to undead Companions? What about any undead that might be summoned by necromancer Companions?

How? You can just choose neither? Seems counter-intuitive but I don't know what else it could be.

What is your favorite CYOA?
>>
>>52906213
Selfless Life
Selfish Eagle (time travel is cool)
Selfless Little Girl
Selfish Wizzie
Selfless Mai Waifu (although my motives are not selfless, if everyone had their waifu they would be happier and that would mean I would be exposed to a lot less fucked up shit)
Selfless Tubes (fuck viruses and global electricity is awesome)
Selfish Space BB
Selfless Slam Jam
I really don't want either for King Guy, but I guess I'd go for selfless because fuck being in charge of something like that
Both for sacrifice sound bad. If I were the god of a pocket dimension I would inevitably fuck it up. I also don't really care for saving the world, as it is at least. But I guess I'd pick selfless anyway because muh trippy time loops life is now the twilight zone.

I'll give the Enterprisers my cold fusion reactor in lieu of the holodeck, since they'll accept something of similar value. That leaves me with unlimited electricity, food, water, and a holodeck inside a cave in the middle of nowhere. THAT Guy won't be an issue since I'll never interact with real people. I can live whatever life I please through holograms, forever and without bother.

We could start collecting selfies and biographies of random posters in this thread, then cobble them together into the CYOA all the shitposters obviously wanted.
Husbandos, total lack of need to put in effort to have people talk about one, comfy/shut-in CYOAs and low power levels.

Anything else?

Apparently the purpose of this was to try and see what people with choose when classical options are presented, but with their drawbacks massively highlighted instead of their benefits. We've agreed that some of these options fit this prospect (Otaku, Innocent, Adventurer, Socialite), but the others aren't.

How would you change them so that the theme is "massively emphasize the drawbacks of the classical option" instead of a more arbitrary flaw, but while still making them meaningful to choice (i.e. most people won't give a shit if, as the inventor, "you wouldn't get recognition for your inventions" etc.)

Nope, it is. Kaleidoscope is straight up "you win everything forever."

That's why I always refuse to pick that one. Or Power Manipulation, since that one just lets you steal the powers of every single parahuman, Endbringer, and Entity without even the most trivial challenge either. At least Alexandria requires you to nominally exert yourself, you know?
>>
>>52908145

Selfish Immortality. Fuck making anyone who participated in our last election immortal.

Selfish Flight. Sorry, guys, but all of time and space are calling to me.

Selfless Girl. I don't want to be the little girl, so you can have this one.

Selfless Wizard. I spend a few thousand years practicing magic, I'm still going to be capable of mighty and earth-shattering spells. May as well let everyone have some fun.

Selfless Waifu. Fuck the author for saying I can't take my waifu with me with Selfish Flight. Have some waifus, guys.

Selfless Internets. I have no interest in Google. I do have an interest in free universal wifi.

Selfless Space. I'm immortal, what am I going to do with eternity if I already know all the answers? Plus the future is going to be real boring if humanity doesn't get off this rock.

Selfless Sports. See my answer for Wizard. Seriously, no matter what option I pick I'm going to be immortal, you should come up with something better for the selfish options than "git gud."

Selfless King. Sorry, too busy being a wizard and running around in time and space.

No Sacrifice. Fuck both of these.
>>
>>52908830

>>

>Selfless King. Sorry, too busy being a wizard and running around in time and space.

Selfless King chooses the best person for the job.
You are now an immortal time teleporting wizard.
Odds are you are getting chosen anyway.
>>
>>52909111
It specifically says someone /else/, though.
>>
>>52908301
Do you want to know what the extra uncomfortable part is? The guy that made it admitted that they're all based on his friends in real life.
>>
>>52908830
>What's your favorite CYOA setting and why?
Dark City, Beyond Sanctuary. Both of them are by Liminal and sound like interesting places.

The first one isn't that miserable in tone, it's basically dark magical girls, and the second one is full of darkness and abuse, but it offers you at least one glimmer of hope in the dimensional ships, so it doesn't have to have a sad ending in your imagination.

I also like Space Refugee, which is just good pulpy space adventure fun with your crazy companions.
>>

Both. Each character has a few fetishes and one or two turn offs.

You can choose to add one or two more, or remove turn ons/turn offs.

Which personality type would that replace? Obedient-Masc?
Also what's that? Batman's butler?
>>
>>52910973
Ok, there's interest. Gonna spit ball some concepts here before I get writing.

Finances cover how your organization makes money, but also influence which international spy agency is going to give you the most attention. This could range from gun running to stock market manipulation.

Bases are varied and provide security, which is resistance to enemy operations. These could range from moon bases to volcano lairs to fortified sky scrapers. They also provide terror, which is used to purchase minions.

Henchmen are your highly capable agents. Each has a "Number One" bonus, but you can only have one number one. They require loyalty to purchase and provide security, operations (their ability to succeed), and terror. Some might be femme fatales.

Minions are your nameless/faceless goons. They come in groups which you can mix and match. Some types perform better in some bases, for example, Gillmen do well in areas near or under water but suffer in other areas. They provide security and industry.

Your goals have requirements, but also influence which spy agency is after you.

Those spy agencies have different methods and agents you need to look out for.

>>
>>52911239

And reading through this stuff, I think I'll switch terror to majesty. Sounds better.

I gotta brainstorm the resources you have, how you get them and how you spend them.
>>
>>52911125
Oh shoot I already came up with a plot for our story!
You have to deal with the dragon that has been bullying the Princess for the last few.
You're fighting the dragon but it looks bad. You're all biting your fingernails as one of you rolls the die for the last hit... it's a Nat 20!
You roar in excitement and defeat the mean dragon!

But then you learn the dragon was only bullying the Princess because she has a crush and doesn't know how to confess to the Princess.
Then you derail my beautifully crafted campaign to help the Dragon confess

Secretly I hoped this would happen. I noticed one of the girls in the group had a crush on another. I wanted to help her get the courage to confess! If even a strong dragon is scared then it's okay that she is too.
Our game then shows the girl that there is nothing to be afraid of and the rest of the group and I watch as she confesses.... and the other girl says she feels the same way!
Oh my poor heart! Nothing is more pure than girl's love!

So with the other choices there's already free electricity and internet for anyone, anyone can just fly to wherever they want, nobody ages past 20 and FTL travel is just around the corner. Leaving it to the most suited individual would make the world into a straight up utopia.
>Sacrifice
Selfless, I can live with not having magic or my hypothetical waifu once a month and killing everyone sounds awful. It's a bad thing to do, but not an edgelord thing to do. Edgelord thing to do would be getting money for killing your family members. A lot of people are indifferent to the deaths of random people they never knew and there is thousands upon thousands of people killing others for money either directly or indirectly by running profitable industry that they know is giving people cancer because of chemicals or something like that.
>>
>>52913572
>killing random people for 10 dollars isn't edgy
>>
>>52913572
Being indifferent to vague deaths and being indifferent to your directly own murders aren't quite the same things, anon.
>>
>>52913572
>here, let me give you a few edgelord excuses for why I'm not actually an edgelord
>>
>>52913528
Best choice. I'm with you.
>>
>>52913674
>>52913643
Are you telling me a a hobo who kills another hobo for 10$ or a terrorist mercenary who blows up a hundred people for a hefty cash are edgelords and not just bad people?
>>
>>52906213

>Selfish
>Selfish
>Selfless
>Selfless
>Selfless
>Selfish
>Selfless

>Selfish

In that exact order.
>>
>>52913720
I think the person who rationalizes that murdering someone for enough money is okay but not okay if there isn't enough money (assuming risks involved like prison or revenge murders are not an issue in either case), is a huge fucking edgelord.
>>
>>52913771
I don't think people are trying to rationalise it morally. They're just putting a price on their morality, essentially. Not edgy unless they angst about it or try to justify it too much.
>>
>>52907450
Not nearly enough delicious brown, and all the brown choices are rather suboptimal.

I guess Arielle, if these are my only choices.
>>
>>52906589

RWBY is pretty good, and Persona was alright too.

But I'd say that my overall favorite is Accidental Magical Girl. At least I think that's what it's called.
>>
>>52913771
Maybe this example is easier to understand for you.
Consider someone who would suck a single dick for million dollars.
Then consider someone who would suck a million dicks for dollar each.

Which one is bigger faggot?
You.
>>
>>52913720
I think you're an edgelord because you're justifying killing someone for ten dollars.
>>
I am. If you presume there are people in the world dying of curable diseases they don't have enough money to cure, then you can do math.
Push the button, lose one human life, save a number of human lives equal to the money divided by the cost of treatment. This becomes a utilitarian positive when the saved lives are greater than one.
The interesting moral question becomes, at what net benefit does the personal culpability in the one death become worth it to an individual.
>>
>>52913912
Or, how many people have to be tied to the first track before you switch tracks and condemn the one guy tied to the second track.
>>
>>52913771
Killing one person for 1 million $ and killing 100 000 for the same amount is a huge fucking difference.
>>
>>52913912
>utilitarian positive
Anon, only psychopaths consider utilitarianism anything other than an interesting thought experiment.

So if that's your moral justification, i dub thee edgy the hedgehog.
>>
>>52913897
I explicitly said i wouldn't do it for 10$. I was justifying killing someone for a million dollars.
>>
>>52913912
Who are you talking to?
>>
>>52912713
Can I use the character creator to become an eldritch abomination, or is it just limited to the realm of human possibilities? If so, then I'll take the door so long as it can't open to somewhere immediately lethal.

Yes. But saying that it's not morally reprehensible because you get a lot of money for only one murder makes you an edgelord. Not the actual willingness to kill, but the lack of morality.

Sorry. Also coming up with goals is turned out to be hard. And for some reason finding Demon types is also hard. So I have 4/10 girls written except I still need goals for 2 of them and I don't have any idea for girl #3.
I'll work on it again SOON*. Just demotivated right now.

And the later Demons are less focused on waifu-ism and more power which is also hard to balance. Except Will 6 because gosh darned is she cute and I will make her a waifu somehow.

>We are an anarcho-syndicalist commune
Actually she's a kibbutz girl. They're kind of a bizarre political/economic system invented by Zionist communists in the 1930's or something. It's hypersocialist within the commune (the most famous detail is probably that they don't even allow for FAMILIES to exist, since that would lead to unfair legacies. All children are raised communally), but as a large scale political system they don't believe in a centralized government, which I suspect what the guy who made this thought about when he called them anarchists, even though that's not the correct definition. They believe that each kibbutz should be largely self-sufficient and they should work together to accomplish national scale missions that can't be completed on the kibbutz level.

They also tend to be gigantic sluts.

Turns out that when you remove families from the equation and have all the children grow together in one big "children's house" basically raising each other most of the time (since the whole community is busy farming or shooting the local Palestinians) they start fucking each other for fun as soon as they hit puberty and never develop any mores. For kibbutz kids, having sex carries the emotional impact of a handshake. And "straight" is barely even a concept, everyone's bi unless noted otherwise.

They're also said to breed some of the best officers in the world so long as you put them on the battlefield alongside the troops.

>They're also said to breed some of the best officers in the world so long as you put them on the battlefield alongside the troops.

It's the mentality. Imagine early Soviet propaganda films. Muscular, shirtless man standing in a field under the bright sun, shovel in one hand, sickle in the other, rifle slung across the back, sweat glistening on his chiseled chest?

That's the culture kibbutzers are born into. It's what they live their whole lives. From the day they're old enough to speak they hear nothing except cooperation, hard work, brotherhood, and to "love the land you live on". They're insanely patriotic, they call everyone "friend/comrade" and actually mean it, and as military officers they're known to take personal, emotional interest in every detail of their soldier's lives. The saying goes "An officer from the kibbutz is not a father, he's a brother".

On the other hand, they tend to either break down BAD or get taken advantage of if they ever have to leave the kibbutz or the army and actually begin functioning in the outside world. It's rare for them to become business people or academics, for example. Those worlds are just not kind to people so rabidly trusting, honest and idealistic.

Not anymore and not for long. As a social experiment the kibbutz culture was a brave failure, but a failure it was. Most did not survive the turn of the century. Either they collapsed economically, fell into collective depression or (most commonly) were forced to compromise their values and just become "somewhat quirky vaguely Soviet-ish agricultural communes".

Read her description, though. Shani is from Ein Shemer. It's one of the few kibbutzes that has managed to survive and prosper just fine as a settlement of lunatic supercommunists. They invested in agriscience before it was a thing, developed many profitable species of fruits and now have successful orchards in the middle of the desert.

Crazy kibbutz customs to take note of:

1. Children's houses. Families are antisocialist. All children are raised communally in the children's house. As soon as a child is old enough to begin taking care of younger children, they do.
2. EVERYTHING IS COMMUNAL. There is no private property in the kibbutz, at all. Your clothes are not your clothes, your room is not your room. Don't get attached to any physical object because you don't and cannot own it. In some kibbutzes personal objects and rooms are actually cycled among members, just in case anyone does.
3. All decisions are made by public vote. As a result, nothing ever gets done. Since everyone thinks of everyone else as family they have family tier arguments that bleed into "politics". Oh, three years ago Shimon made plum jam and didn't give Revka a fair portion? WELL, NOW REVKA'S BROTHER WON'T VOTE WITH SHIMON. No new tractor for the kibbutz!
4. Mess hall. Everyone takes turns cooking for everyone, and everyone eats together in the central mess hall. This has lead to the creation of "kibbutz cuisine", characterized by being very simple to make (since even the stupidest kid in the kibbutz has to be able to cook it when it's their turn in the kitchen) and suitable for a demanding agricultural lifestyle while utilizing local produce as much as possible. The iconic "kibbutz breakfast" has omelette of two eggs, cucumber and tomato salad, cheeses, bread, coffee, and orange juice.
5. Everyone is Jewish, but nobody's religious. It's weird like that.
>>
>>52916684
Oh, and more and kibbutz mentality:

Everyone is friendly to an uncomfortable degree. Just arrived at a kibbutz you've never been before, a total stranger? Expect to be hugged, possibly kissed and talked to like you were a brother by complete strangers. Kibbutzers are stereotypically super optimistic, super idealistic and super helpful. Their arms are always wide open. No matter where they are and with whom, if anyone needs assistance they will provide. You don't have to ask, they'll provide anyway. Are you troubled, friend? What ails you? You can talk to me. I listen. Do you need help? Is there something I can do? I've been up since 4AM and haven't helped anyone yet, how very antisocialist of me. Maybe I should make you food? Have you read any good books? May I recommend the great works of Karl Marx?

etc.
>>
>>52916684

>>
>>52916879
Too bad you're not allowed to complain when other girls fuck your shota too.
>>
>>52916807
Nah, they do that Communist Manifesto thing where it's recommended people don't specialize overly much. Depending on the specific kibbutz, there's generally some form of cycling through the various agricultural duties, and for day-to-day duties it's usually daily. One day you cook, next day you do the laundry, after that you clean, after that you take care of children. This month you're taking care of the cows. In two months it'll be your turn to pick fruits at the orchard. Six months after that you move to the fields. In times of "unrest", people also take turns guarding the kibbutz, which once upon a time resulted in a lot of pretty young kids strolling about with guns. Nowadays it almost never happens since the kibbutzes are part of the state of Israel and just send soldiers to the IDF. Because kibbutz kids are so crazy motivated and patriotic they make good soldiers and because they're so empathetic and value cooperation so much they make excellent officers.

Considering people function better with it than without? No. These people need regulation or they fall apart, which is certainly not how early humans lived.
>>
>>52917208
Don't get me wrong, kibbutzers are not luddites. They're all for advanced technology and education. It's just that since all the money for sending someone to receive higher education belongs to the community, it only works by vote so most of the time it won't be approved unless they're going to study something beneficial to the kibbutz. Agricultural sciences are highly valued, but could also be anything from geology (if the kibbutz may have mineral resources) or architecture (more efficient houses and irrigation!). It's interesting Shani was allowed to go study communications, her family must be very "modern" by kibbutz standards. If Ein Shemer is indeed "commercialized" it's possible there's some system in place to allow people to collect some small amounts of personal wealth, it could be what either she or her parents have used to finance her schooling. Alternatively, she could've taken advantage of Israeli soldier scholarships. As an infantry combatant, she'd have received a sizable one.

Tribal is not 'nobody owns anything you have to do this specific duty then there and now and family doesn't exist!', that part is completely artificial and blows right back into the face of your instincts.
>>
>>52917348
No, but stereotypically there's such rampant cheating nobody cares about it because they're doing it too. You don't grow up in an environment where it's okay to fuck anyone anywhere at any time then settle into a healthy monogamous marriage.
>>
>>52917234
That's true of any society, though. You'd probably completely fail to become part of their society. Hell, if you're part of this thread, you probably completely failed to become a part of our society too.
>>
This might be a good place to note that, especially nowadays after much of the system has broken down, each kibbutz basically has their own philosophy and unique lifestyle (back then it was because, like all communists, they each thought they had THE PERFECT INTERPRETATION of Karl Marx' ideals and whenever there was a disagreement they just set up another kibbutz and split)
>>
>>52917374
>cucking is a part of the culture
Excuse me for a moment I need to book a flight to Palestine
>>
>>52917367
Ownership is not something that early humans cared about, or even knew about most likely. As to specific duties, everyone had the same duty (get food and survive), so that falls through as well.

What we have today is what's extremely against human instinct, which is why we see so much mental anguish among people. We aren't living in a way that's natural to us. Which isn't strictly wrong or bad, it's just that we'll need a good number of generations more of this for the average person to be comfortable like this.
>>
For a less rose colored view of kibbutz life, watch an Israeli film called "Sweet Mud". It was controversial in the country for showing the kibbutz movement at its darkest, grittiest, and most disturbing, focusing on how perverted and insane the whole system can be and how, for all of how sweet and idyllic it seems from the outside, it will CHEW, SWALLOW, AND VOMIT anyone who can't fit into the mold.
