Ok /jc/, we've had talks about Worm, what to do there, etc, but there is something I'm wondering.
For those who visited the Wormverse, what Power Classification and Threat Ratings did the PRT / Protectorate give you and why?
>>
>>52733580
I think that unless you're a very early-chain jumper, the sheer width of options you have access to means that you'll be given a Trump rating. Even grab-bag capes only have so many powers, the only explanation that would make sense to the PRT would be that you're a Trump in the same style as Eidolon. Probably a pretty high one, given some of the things you can have access to.

>Question: Seeing as they're in your soul, would someone in your Inner World count as "[being] on the same plane of existence" as you?
I'd guess not.
>>
>>52733631
Yeah, when asked about it, I pretty much refered to myself as a 'discount super-Eidolon','discount' because I don't have the sheer number of available powers as Eidolon and 'super' because I can access much more than 3 powers at the same time and some of these powers are extremely powerful on their own.

Okay , here's what's happening so far with Destroy All Monsters

three months time limit

three origins three different possible rewards.

Here they are from least to most expensive.

>Earth military

You are a military leader of the planet Earth, your goal is to keep your nation from being conquered by the Kilaakians and minimize both casualties and damage, you choice of United Kingdom,USSR,French or Japanese Governments, but if Any government suffers a higher percentage of Casualties in military and/or civilian losses or greater percentage of property damage you lose.

the reward is that you quickly find a equivalent position available in a local country Every future jump If you wish .

>Kilaakians

Kilaakians comes with free Alternate form as a Kilaak Planet Person. no, that does not necessarily mean you will automatically become female although you will definitely Be perceived as one by Earth People who can't tell the difference because of your Disguises. you have roughly 30 ships including the fire Dragon and enough science to remotely control both monster and human minds as well as some fairly good space travel, your goal is simple, conquer the Earth and found the beginning of a new scientific civilization

the reward is you Get a new warehouse attachment big enough to house everything and everything you started with, is replaced along with A free data terminal with complete records of the art and science of your species

>Kaiju

>i'm still working on this one definitely need help and ideas and probably going to scrap most of this .

here's a twist of you take this origin Godzilla never finds the Kilaaks underground base but ,You andGodzilla must defeat not only the Kilaakians, but all the other Kaiju to At least the point of unconsciousness to free earth, the reward is an extra 700 CP and you keep your Kaiju form as a alternate form.

It's like watching two strangers argue about jelly on sandwiches when one's from the US and the other's from the UK.

To original question anon: my guess the reason you're having trouble is because the author is defining "mind control" as shorthand for "total mental takeover" while you're defining it as shorthand for "any degree of control over the mind". The Notes section makes this clearer - if you missed it there's actually one more page after the Ending page...

Or to put it in D&D terms, the author is saying "it's not mind control because it's Charm Person, not Dominate Person". So yeah, it's a mind-affecting effect but not an absolute one. HTH.

You're thinking of sharing is caring from black bullet albeit limited to one companion. Personally I'd suggest going to wish upon a shenron.

I don't remember what that one was but for bestowing perks try lip service from Medaka Box or the power copying stuff from young justice although you will need to build power armor for them

>>
>>52734939
Actually it says "If you ate a devil fruit in your time here... you no longer get sapped of your strength while in water" and their question was about what happens if you eat a devil fruit after your time here.

Going by the wording of the paragraph the weaknesses only goes away if you eat the fruit while in One Piece.

welp, looks like its time to come out of hibernation for this one

official word of god on this one - any devil fruit purchased with CP no longer saps you of your strength in water, but still refuses to activate while submerged, regardless of if you continue your journey or decide to stay in the world. any devil fruit you obtain and eat while within the world will be beholden to the same conditions if you move on or return home, though will retain the typical 'sink like a brick' drawbacks if you decide to stay in-world. taking a devil fruit beyond the bounds of the world before eating it puts this protection/removal of drawbacks outside of the benefactor's control, making them act as they typically would regardless of whatever world you decide to eat them in afterwards (ie - you will still have the water weakness).

as for the idea of gene-engineering devil fruits for your own purpose, it has been done in-canon with zoan fruits, though as far as i know, not to any spectacular effect. if you have the perks and equipment to understand devil fruits and how they work, yes, you could feasibly artificially replicate them, though i'd put it at the same degree of difficulty as trying to infuse yourself in other bloodlines in naruto - probably an absurdly high failure rate unless you've been stacking these kinds of perks for a while.

now, while im here, anyone else got any other questions about one piece or monhun?
>>

questions about the decade gauntlet

1.why is key to the kingdom. A prerequisite for gate Guardian? it was all cards in the Canon version

2.Do the cards you get at the end have to be cards if you took key to the kingdom or can they be whatever gimmick they were?

Last time on writefag: Jump-chan is an over-excitable teenager and after some loser fell into a wormhole leading to her room, she decides to send him on an adventure. In the World of Ace Attorney, Anon had recruited (or rather, been recruited by) the adventurous Katrina Wellengood, and managed to bullshit his way into ten years of a defense lawyer career.

At the turn of the decade, he considered going home, only to be persuaded by Jump-chan's sad face and the temptation of adventure to give a few more jumps a go.

A downpour falls onto a dreary street. A tired, old radio plays in the distance, the lyrics barely heard over the falling rain.
>"..ouds of mystery pourin'…confusion on the gr-"
A gunshot echoes into the street, an open hand falling down onto the ground, lifeless. A pair of boots run into the rain in a hurry, splashing
>"…good men through the ages…"
A pair of shadows emerge from the darkness and leap to the assailant. He fires a shot. He does not fire a second, falling down into the pool of rainwater on the concrete.
>"…tryin' to find the sun…"
A masked man holds down the culprit before slapping a pair of handcuffs on the thug. A shorter figure in a mask looks down inquisitively, her outfit colored a red and black with a flowing cape behind her.
>"…and I wonder, still I wonder…"
High above, a signal light shines into the sky, marked by the symbol of a Bat.
>"…who'll stop the rain."

This is going to need more than a few posts. Full version forthcoming.

>>52735461
you can only copy passive powers on touch (like, say, mimicking the clear clear fruit or rubber rubber fruit). anything more complicated or damage-oriented (ie - most logia types) require you to take a hit of it in order to replicate it, which means if you can tank something like whitebeard's quake or ace's fire, you'll be able to replicate it. you keep these powers as long as you have a slot to keep them in, but once you get rid of one of them, you have to grab it/tank it again to use it again

>>52735639
no, you keep them if you die in the chain, much like with any power you pick up. its the benefactor's consolation prize for being amusing as long as you have been

>>52735654
explicitly, you can repilicate what you got hit with, but depending on what it is you got hit with, it could also let you use other aspects of the fruit's power. getting hit with ace's fire fist doesnt mean you can JUST use fire fist - you can essentially use most of his devil fruit from that attack simply because 99% of his arsenal is throwing his fire around in a certain way. for whitebeard, if he punches you and cracks everything, youll know how to do the crack punch, but something like how he ripped the air sideways to completely fuck up an entire island and the surrounding ocean might be a bit beyond you unless you're creative. essentially, the very OBVIOUS/easy applications of a fruits power when you tank it are probably going to be easier to replicate than the more specialized ways it is used in

...This comes up in the Modern part of Shards of the Exalted Dream, actually.

I had an entire lifetime of memories poured into my mind. A life where I had bumbled my way through the career of a defense attorney. A life where I had been living in a simple, unremarkable home for most of my life. And then I remembered that most of that was where I had just come from, and the life I had lived in Gotham was both backstory and setting-dressing.

I feel like I should be having a serious existential crisis right now, but I decide to chalk it up to 'reincarnation lol' and not think about it too hard. Overthinking things is what gets me into trouble, anyhow. So I'm the last living heir of an expansive technological company, rival to Wayne Enterprises, called Voyager Industries. The similarities are uncanny, except while Bruce Wayne's parents died of a gunshot in an alley, mine had died in a car crash caused by hedonism and poor life choices. I suppose that's why 'this' me doesn't feel much angst over the whole thing.

I can't help but wonder if that's just my benefactor showing mercy to me.

Anyways, the company practically runs itself and I get to live large in a mansion. But naturally, I felt obligated to do something about the crime on the streets. Past me, or 'this' me was inspired by the debut of the Batman to construct a bird-themed costume and train to become a vigilante and clean up the streets of Gotham. Internally, I couldn't help but mock the notion. "Yeah, and there will be kittens and puppies and sunshine forever." I knew damn well things wouldn't get any better in Gotham and it was likely beyond my power to fix.

Still, it would be a fun distraction, right?

Hey Worm, do abilities gained by Thanatos stack or does it just take the best version?

Say you killed a fire mage first and got the ability to do fire stuff. Then you killed a more powerful fire mage. Would it just replace the power of the first with the second or would they stack together?

Not Worm, but I think Thanatos works more by learning from what it kills than straight copying, so I think it depends on why the second mage is stronger.

If they're literally the same apart from powerlevels, there'd probably just be overwriting because it's learning from a better version of the same thing. If the second was stronger because of something like different techniques, then they'd probably stack.

After years of wanting to punch people in a silly courtroom, I finally have the body and training to do it. I try out my new martial mastery in training and find that I'm definitely a lot better coordinated than I've ever been in my life, feeling an adrenaline high from the experience. It was…intoxicating. Before, I had to work with what I had gotten and had to make do. Now, all the right tools were in my hands. I can do this. I can win against whatever they throw at me. Just like Batman, right?

Of course, stupid me had forgotten that Batman had been in plenty of unpleasant spots, especially in this iteration.

But luckily, I didn't have to face it alone. I would be joined by my trusty sidekick who was both smarter and more hot-headed than I, Katrina W. Good. The two of us, we'd take to the streets of Gotham and turn criminals in wherever we found them. It was, simply put, exciting. Running along rooftops, getting new tech to tackle the crooks with, the thrill of a chase and being a costumed detective and having a cozy home to return to…it was a dream come true.

Of course, no superhero story is complete without an archenemy.

There was a third childhood friend in my backstory, from a rich family. His name was Michael. His family's company was a pharmaceutical enterprise called NuLife. We had consulted him a few times on things like the Joker's laughing gas or biological agents some of the more colorful rogues used. One day, he disappeared without a trace. We searched high and low, but couldn't find him anywhere.

Almost a year later, he returned…different. His facial blemishes were gone, his appearance looked almost angelic. I remember him having a calm smile before he tore an innocent man's throat inside-out with a lazy grab of his hand.

Whatever happened to him, whatever he did, he had become a serial killer with an almost serene calm behind him. His supervillain name was 'Smile'. His body could heal injuries almost instantly, and change shape and biology at will. We soon began a game of deadly cat-and-mouse with a supervillain who knew our secret identities and had become a complete monster. And what tore at me the worst is that I had no idea how it happened. If I had been someone watching this on TV, I would have seen a backstory episode, some kind of scene showing his fall. But I didn't. It just happened, and had created my first -real- enemy.

Batman had the Joker. I had Smile.

It came down to an out-of-costume fight to the death as Smile burned down the manor around us. He had stabbed Kat in the stomach before tossing her out a window. I remember me crying out in both rage and despair at everything happened, before I began to fight the shapeshifting madman. It went as well as you'd expect - close range combat with Smile was like trying to catch a gust of wind with your hands, and I was on the ropes as I tumbled back. And because of my own hesitation, I couldn't bring myself to even attempt a killing blow, even against a monster like this. Why, why, why did I have to spare someone like this?

I didn't have time to contemplate this as my body was pierced by several flesh-needles, along my arm and my knee, restricting my movement as Smile approached. I asked why he was doing this. Why he had turned into this. True to his name, he just grinned at me and tapped his sharpened fingers, showing me that he was going to take his time.

"Oh, that is just messed up."
>"I have faith in you! Give us a good show for the end of this story arc!"
"A good show?! There's a Nobody who has ALL OF MY POWERS! And I can only use one at a time!"
>"Not ALL of your powers. Just the ones you most commonly used lately. And the gear you commonly use."
"YOU GAVE HIM THE GAUNTLET?!"
>"NOT that. That's something like twenty different things you somehow fit together anyway, that would have been pushing it and I don't want two of those in the multiverse."
"Oh thank goodness. Now take a deep breath, everybody, this next part is going to be fucking LONG."
>Tema Del Jumper (Free)
More soundtracks for myself! By now I'm pretty sure I have enough music to play for DAYS without repeating.
>Tema Di Mondi (2100)
I kind of feel like this is worth paying the extra points to keep post-jump. A sixth sense via music, and having that music fit everywhere I go... it's just neat.
>A Heart To Call My Own (1900)
Being able to pay enough attention to something to give them a heart... a soul... that's an interesting power. I've sort of emulated something like this but it was far from easy. Now, I have it outright. It will take years of investment, certainly, but... yes.
>Double Jump (Free, Drop-In)

Being here without this is probably not a good idea, to be honest.

Luck was the only thing that saved me. I had dragged the fight on long enough that a burning piece of wreckage from the roof had collapsed on top of him. There was no outcry, not lament of pain. Just laughter. He said something I could barely hear over the roaring inferno as I limped out to my escape, burned and wounded, trying desperately in my haze to find Kat.

I found her on the grass, motionless. No heartbeat. No warmth. Nothing. Desperately, I carried her along to the walls surrounding the property even as the mansion burned down behind us, setting her down in the Medbay before I collapsed into the bed opposite of her, letting the machines do the work as I struggled to remain conscious.

I remember the 'dead' status screen flashing over her bed. Nothing in the Warehouse but the sound of my own labored breathing, the fire outside, and the sound of a flatline. Only when I had no more strength to spare and prayed the equipment would do the rest of the work, I mercifully gave into unconsciousness.

When I woke up, the only thing I could feel was soreness and pain from my wounds. The lights of the Warehouse ceiling glaring down at me as I felt the strain of trying to sit up. I looked over to the side and saw that Kat's bed was empty. I blinked in confusion before rubbing my eyes and trying to figure out what had happened, before someone cleared their throat next to me.

"I hope I'm not disturbing you." Batman said.

I screamed.

"Hey, what are you screaming about?" Kat asked, opposite of me.

I screamed louder.

Since I had left the Portal open overnight and Batman had been tracking Smile's activities independently, he had shown up just in time to see me limp into the Warehouse with Kat in tow. Apparently he had figured out who we were and what we were doing a while ago and saw this was a good time to act on his hunch, and now I had inadvertently revealed it went further than that. He hid the Portal from view and let the police do the rest of the work in the background.

As for Kat…I felt this weird mix of confusion, fear, relief, and happiness all at once. Is there a word for that? I'll go with 'overwhelmed'. The last thing she remembered was talking to me in the mansion about where Smile's movements were heading, and then she was suddenly in the Warehouse. She didn't remember the half-hour leading into her death.

I dodged the subject.

So, with no other way to explain the interdimensional portal thing, I explained the 'Jumper' thing to Batman. He was incredulous at first, saying this wasn't a game, but relented by citing the amount of good we had done on our own. Though, I feel like he had sympathized with us due to similar situations…at least, 'backstory' us. He suggested we get out of the superhero business and move out of Gotham, because we wouldn't be safe from Smile or other Rogues. Go figure, no one had found his body.

When we refused despite his protests…that is, Kat refusing despite his protests…he made it clear it was too dangerous for us to be working alone. More than just out of concern for us, I think he wanted to keep an eye on us out of suspicion from the whole 'Jumper' thing. All things considered, I'd probably have done the same thing in his position.

And that's how we got strong-armed into the Bat-family.

From there on, things felt more…episodic. We met colorful foes, brought them to justice, had to deal with Arkham's revolving door problems, and then fought again. Smile would go on to haunt us for the majority of the jump, and the fear of death had been drilled into my mind after that harrowing experience. Crime-fighting wasn't an exciting thrill anymore. It was a job, and a very risky one. Kat still wonders why I looked so miserable most of the time, almost like I was foreshadowing the jaded cynic Batman would become years down the line.

And still, one thing still haunted me, above all else. The words Smile uttered to me before the mansion finished burning down…

"Life is but a dream."

That concludes my time in Batman.

So would it be accurate to say that it fully copies the abilities of the fruit but you probably won't be able to use their full capacity since you won't have as much experience/skill with the fruit? Limiting you to the basic applications unless you put in the time/work to figure it all out?

i suppose if you want to think about it that way, sure, it sounds pretty close. the thing is though, you still lose all your progress if you overwrite it for another fruit ability. still, if you were to copy a specific fruit and keep it, you could theoretically train yourself up to such a point as the original user with enough time and effort, though i'd say it would probably be a bit more difficult to do so simply due to the nature of your fruit and its tendency to cycle through what you can absorb rather than keeping stuff permanently.

I found myself wandering around Traverse Town. Much of the wandering I was doing was basically aimless, though I got more than a few odd looks, at first. But of course... although confusion lingers, the quiet never lasts. It wasn't more than a couple of hours of wandering through the city admiring the sights before there was an attack by some sort of strange... shadow creatures. There were a small number of people defending against the attack, certainly, but there's no harm to jumping in to try and help. And despite that I had a staff strapped to my back, I found myself jumping into the fray with a baseball bat.

And despite some people yelling at me that it wouldn't do anything... it did, in fact. The bat was sufficient to dispel the Heartless, as they were later identified to me, and after momentary surprise by the other defenders, the attack was routed handily. I pulled a mega-potion from my pouch to see to it that everyone was able to rapidly recover from the worst of their injuries, before some locals came over to help everyone else.

One of whom I recognized.

"Aeris?"
>"Aerith," she corrected gently. "Do I know you?"
My head... stung. In the same way that it stung as I looked at the bat in my hand. It slipped from my fingers and fell onto the pavement, and I followed suit. "I... don't know. I don't know where I am."
>"This is Traverse Town," she offered. "Are you all right? Did one of the Heartless knock you in the head?"
"Heartless? Is that what they were?" I shook the cobwebs out, frowning at the bat... and then banishing it into the nether. I had no idea how I did that, but such thoughts didn't even occur to me at the time. "They didn't seem... right. I... ugh. Where's... Cloud and Zack?"
>Aerith cocked her head, perplexed. "I don't think I know a Zack. Cloud is... trying to find himself. You know him, too?"
I frowned, shaking my head again. "I think... or someone he used to be? Blonde, spiky-haired, has a big sword?"
>>
>>52736801
>"That's the one," she said with a nod. "So... who are you?"
"I'm not sure," I admitted. "I... something with a C. Chris? Crux? Yeah, Crux, I think."
>"Crux it is then." She offered me her hand, which I took, standing back up. "You helped beat back the Heartless, let me show you around, we'll see if we can get you someplace safe to lay your head."
I chuckled. "As long as the beds aren't worse than they were in Kalm, I'm fine with that."
>She looked back at me and quirked a brow. "Kalm?"
I nodded. "Small town outside Midgar, we went there after we left the city, met the rest of the gang and... this doesn't make sense... ow. I don't suppose you have any aspirin?"

And so it went.

As the week progressed, I was able to put more details together. I summoned the bat again, and I knew where I got it. From Christopher Robin, in the Hundred Acre Wood. No one from there was in Traverse Town to confirm it, but... I started putting pieces together. Pieces that didn't fit. The Hundred Acre Wood maybe, but... I wasn't a stuffed animal, I was a person. I started remembering more about my time in Midgar and Aeris-not-Aerith, and none of those details fit either. And I had this... vague sense of others out there, somewhere, looking for me.

It was very strange.

Stranger was the second attack by Nobodies - less that they attacked, but more that one of them dropped some sort of gem. It seemed strange, but something about it reminded me of Midgar again.

And then I picked it up, my eyes glowed, and I felt unnatural power in my muscles.

The rest of my memories of that place flowed back. Memories of working to save the world from giant creatures, Aeris laughing off being impaled, Zack and Cloud cutting Sephiroth to ribbons, a world-dominating corporation growing a conscience.

Memories of telling the others where I was from. Where I was going. The others with me on my journey. It all snapped into focus, and my vague sense of my companions was suddenly a sharp one.

Worm was my third jump so I was rated mostly around my parahuman power. Which was Doormaker so I got Mover 12 (Shaker 6, Blaster 6) which was assigned on the basis of my ability to move around on a global scale (I kept the interdimensional part secret) and manipulate the environment with portals/blast dudes with high pressure water jets by opening portals under their butts aimed at the bottom of the marianas trench.

I didn't give them any inkling of my Sailor Moon villain powers, and the precog I'd picked up from Familiar of Zero was used subtly enough that I was never given a deserved thinker rating. I did use the Familiar of Zero magitech perk along with Sailor Moon's revivication to make healing items, but claimed they came from a silent partner tinker friend.

I thanked Aerith for her generosity, gave her the short version, and set out to find the rest of my friends.

Four years later... I found myself standing on a battlefield. Companions behind me. Friends I'd made along the way backing them. All of them wielding the any number of artifacts that I'd kept stored in the warehouse in case of apocalypse. All of them wielding universal materia that they'd taken the time to learn and become proficient in.

On the opposite side of the blasted landscape... a Nobody. One who'd left me near death the first time we'd skirmished, and that was when I had the strength of a Soldier of Midgar, my only saving grace. Him and a none-too-small army of Nobodies of all shapes and sizes behind. Sure, Organization XIII (those goddamn edgelords) had been eradicated by the keyblade wielders by now, but the lesser nobodies that had been their foot soldiers had needed somewhere to go. And the opponent on the other side of the battlefield, the one who loomed far taller than anyone else, had been the one to gather them until now. To draw us out to a battlefield of his choosing.

The poor bastard would never know what hit him.

A pair of wands, wielded by a pair of pink-haired girls, pointed across the battlefield. The rest of my companions followed suit with their wands. A cheerful chorus of "Explosion!" later, the front line of nobodies abruptly strewn about, and the battle was joined.

I left everyone to focus on what they needed to focus on. My focus was on the large one. The one who, despite being pale, wore my face. That swung the same sword that I had in my left hand, the only thing that would let me fight him as an equal, and the reason I couldn't let him disengage me and attack anyone else. While he had little other special equipment... I had my armor. Green power armor, hard-won from Mars and upgraded thoroughly, though used sparingly unless the situation merited it.

He had power unified. I had a full head of memories, a woefully incomplete catalog of abilities, but I had the warehouse and that at least meant even odds.

With the summon gems that I had in my possession, I switched between them with a speed that belied belief. Our battle raged across the field, and I did my level best to keep steering him away from my allies as they steadily worked to defeat the squads of nobodies, supporting each other.

"You don't get it, you're a shadow of who I might have been," I told him, teeth gritted, even as his sword cracked my armor, the battlefield seemingly grown silent but for us, our blades glancing off each other after that blow. "I know what you draw on, and I haven't been that person in centuries. You've embraced the monster I never was."

The Nobody's voice was a sibalant hiss, reminding me uncomfortably of Voldemort. "Companions... barely useful as tools. It would be better to simply use clones and empties!" And with that... dozens of smaller replicas of him appeared. The rest of the combatants rejoined the fray, fighting the weaker versions of him as I kept pushing him across the battlefield, the grass reducing itself to ash around him.

"No," I said, more calmly than I felt, slicing him arm but failing to disarm him. A black ichor leaked from the wound, hissing and bubbling where it landed on the ground. "My companions are my friends. My family. My-"

"Convenient holes!" raged the Nobody as he slashed, shattering the glass of the armor's helmet, cleaving a horrifying wound across my face that the helmet barely saved me from. I stumbled back, throwing the helmet away, lifting the sword once more to deflect what would have been a killing blow. It seemed angrier now than it had been.

>>
>>52736972
"You're just jealous that you don't have the hardware!" I taunted, then stumbling back again as a kick from the Nobody shattered the chest of my armor. "I love them. They love me. Especially Gaia and Ceci. I've had a wonderful life with a wonderful family and if I died now my only regret would be not getting to spend more time with them!" And with that, I started flicking through the catalog of powers, abusing abrupt bursts of speed to try and strike him from different angles, aiming to whittle down his defenses. He was raining blows upon me, but I was giving as good as I got.

"No one has value except me! I am what you should have been! Remorseless! Relentless! I'll murder you, I'll murder THEM, and take your place! She'll grant me her favor, and I'll murder this world and every other that I step foot in! Crack them open and suck them dry of life! What you WANT to do, but your morality won't let you do!"

Apparently the Nobody had the Boss Speech down. And I had to admit he wasn't entirely wrong, at least as of recently. And it seemed that the rest of the battle was dying down, but the others were keeping their distance. And for good reason. I'd warned them that this was an opponent that I had to fight alone, no matter how it ended.

"You remember the monster you used to be," it taunted, slashing at me, casting magic to try and sap my strength, even as I parried and countered his attempts. "Don't tell me you don't remember how their blood sung in your veins. How their souls still empower you... how they should empower ME! How many lived have you ended to heal your wounds? Tell me, how many breads have you--"

"One thousand, nine hundred and eight-one!" I shouted at it, swinging the sword, snicker-snack. The blade glanced off the bone of the Nobody's face, chipping it, sending it backward screaming. "I remember every single one of their names," I continued as I advanced, unrelenting, a blind blow from it cracking my armor into uselessness - a quick switch of powers let me dismiss its remains to the warehouse to give it time to repair - and kept switching powers, pushing my advantage. Slashing its tendons, crippling its speed. "You don't know remorse. I do. I've done MUCH that I regret, but always, I was first and foremost a monster that preyed on other monsters. Monsters like you! Monsters I swore I'd never be like!"

The Nobody shrieked wordlessly, slashing at me with claws, carving shallow holes in my skin and shredding my shirt. I refused to relent, even as I swung one final time at the duplicate of my own sword, shattering it and throwing mine to the side. Assuming one final set of powers.

"You want me to be a monster," I told the shrieking Nobody, my form growing dark and indistinct, fog spilling across the battlefield. "Fine. I'll give you a monster-" As it swung at me again, I grabbed its arm, snapping it with inhuman strength, listening to the Nobody howl in rage. "You, who dreamt the usurpation of the lives of everyone and everything in the multiverse! I am the Eater of Dreams, you pathetic waste of flesh!" The Nobody howled once more, a weaker one, a denial, as I continued to bat back its attacks. "You didn't want a monster. What you wanted was oblivion. And I shall give it to you."

The fog obscured the battlefield, but the Nobody's horrified shrieks could still be heard until they were cut off abruptly.

The fog cleared as I reverted forms, panting, looking down over the vanquished form of my opponent. After a delay, the Nobody's form faded into oblivion, and I fell backward to the ground, landing painfully. Though my companions rushed forward, some of the others stayed back.

"Is that really true? Has he really killed people?" asked Aerith. And that was one that really hurt to hear.

Ceci helped lift me to my feet, my daughters casting spells to heal my wounds, though the slash across my face refused to stop bleeding. And, after a delay, I nodded to her. "I was not always a good person," I told her, "But I will say that I've never killed an innocent soul. I've been both saint and sinner in my time, but..." I trailed off and sighed.

Sora... bless his heart, he had already lowered his keyblade, and his voice was quiet. "Two thousand people? Why?"

I closed my eyes, wiping some of the blood off of my face. "You have to understand... the worlds that you have here... compared to some, these are paradises. Even WITH the threats you face. I'm a very old man, even if I don't look it, and my journey is far from over."

"How old?" Aerith asked. And I smiled. Leave it to her, even her analogue is direct, even if she's less playful and more supportive.

"Less than a thousand centuries, but not by much," I answered. "I... am both more and less than human. But I started out as a man, and I hope to end my journey with as much of my humanity intact as I can. That's why I have my family, here." I motioned to Ceci, to Elodie and Louise, to Gaia and the rest. "They've traveled with me, they help keep me grounded. Heck, two of them WERE me, once. Long story. As I said... they're family."

I'll be leaving here in about six years to continue my travels. Maybe see if there's a little slice of Costa del Sol hiding somewhere and get a tan?"

"You... you killed that thing, and now you want to go to the BEACH?"

Ceci chirped, "We shall capture it for Chaos!" The rest of my companions all stared at her flatly, until she broke into giggles. They were contagious, nearly everyone else started laughing as well.

Costa del Sol wasn't anywhere to be found, but Sora was kind enough to find us a beach to relax on. He never quite looked at me the same way again, though, and that made me more than a bit sad.

Oh, speaking of Nintendogs.

Jump #311: Nintendogs
>Six of Wands (Victory), reversed: Impudence and false pride in meaningless achievements.
Hey, now, I can sit, I can speak. I don't dig up the garden. Much. I am a good dog! Don't be mean.
>Age: Puppy
>Location: Country Home
>Identity: Pedigree (-100)
>Breed: Corgi
Corgi's are a British bread. I am delicious.
>Drawbacks: Dirty House (+200)
If I'm going to be a puppy, I am going to play it up as much as possible. Which includes barking at the evil vacuum to try to protect my human from it! They don't know what wickedness these things are capable of.
>Cute! (1000)
>Fluffy! (900)
I'm a corgi. Cute and fluffy go hand in hand with me.
>Sit Down (800)
Oh the fun I shall have with this later...
>[Name]! (700)
It's not quite the Taboo, but it's close.
>Speak (600)
Well, being able to actually talk to people might throw them for a loop, but I'm cute enough that they'll just accept it and move forward.
>Fetch (400)
Playing fetch is fun. Being able to fetch things? Now that's just plain useful.
>Spin (200)
A corgi enjoys running in circles and being generally silly. The fact that this also means I can change the direction of objects in motion is increasingly hilarious and I intend to use this on people who fly to send them in different directions.
>Drop It (0)
Cause people to release what they're holding? I can think of a few situations where this is relevant.

I'm not sure I'd call this a vacation jump per se, but it's a hell of a pleasant change of pace. I'm a corgi! I am cute and adorable and I keep everyone safe from that Roomba that keeps running around being crazy.

Also someone broke into the house and did not expect a corgi to get them to try to talk them out of it. And when they accused said corgi of being the devil, they did not expect to suddenly drop the gun, sit down, and for the dog to call the police.

The only thing left now is to solve the conundrum of who the good boy is!

Fuck it, time to do more Stalwart Tiger

Last time on Tiger's Adventures: We first arrived in Ghost in the Shell and proceeded to team up with Ammy to hack ALL THE THINGS. Before kicked kicked to 80's Action Movie, very close to Tiger's idea of heaven. Though many people were terrified of him using cars as battering rams. Then onwards to Dead Space, where we fought evil moons. And finally...we did stuff in Dota2, fucked if I know what though.

Gonna need a replacement for this roll.

Last Time on Restarted Chain!
Yorokonde was the protagonist from Bioshock. Got the Good Ending, rescued all of the Little Sisters, then sank Rapture after Sofia Lamb decided to take a pot shot at him.
This Time on Restarted Chain!

The seas off the coast of Maine were as black as the skies and possessed an anger that seemed an almost tangible force. Even with the short distance across the bay mostly covered, I still wondered if we were going to make it. A rowboat is an uncertain craft in the best of weather. In the storm surrounding us it became all but suicidal. But the man who had offered to row me out to the lighthouse sitting at the edge of the reefs had promised me it could be done. In fact, he was insistent the trip had to be undertaken that very night.
He had also brought along his sister for reasons I could not fathom. She did none of the rowing and her main contribution seemed to be engaging her sibling in arguments that made little sense to me. Snippets like…
“This is not the way this usually goes.”
“A little change is said to be the spice of life.”
“But too much spice spoils the soup.”
“Then if you can’t trust my judgement in fifth dimensional rationalisation, trust my skills as a chef.”
“You’re a worse cook than I am.”
“But I have a better sense of taste.”
And it went on like that. For my own part, I spent much of the trip ignoring them.
A stream of warmth leaked down my face, shocking in the cold wind. I absently mopped it up with a handkerchief that could not get any wetter for the blood. The nosebleeds were getting more frequent. Tenenbaum had no idea of the cause, but many theories. The coded phrases implanted in my mind might be degrading and causing damage along the way. Or perhaps it was a side effect to the Adam I had injected into my body saving the Little Sisters and sinking Rapture. It could also be cancer. She always was a cheerful one.

Eventually the lighthouse was reached and the boat pulled up against the dock long enough for me to clamber up a short ladder. The man in the yellow raincoat too clean to be the fisherman he claimed to be shouted at me over the storm as he maneuvered the boat away.

“Do be careful this time around.” The sister added something to his words, but they were lost in a sudden crash of thunder much too close for comfort. I flinched from the light and sound. When the sparkles finally cleared from my eyes, the two were gone. Not dead, not sinking below the waves while their craft was burning from the lightning strike… just gone. As if they had never existed.

I shivered from more than just the cold rain, but made my way inside. Crates filled to the brim with bibles were stacked just inside the door and littered the floor all the way to the top. A radio crackled nothing but static on a desk just in front of a map with a line of red marked on it. So, it was all true. Fifth time’s the charm. A breath I had not realized I was holding escaped in a loud gust and was followed quickly by a short laugh.

Finally, I found it. On time, in the right place, with the key in hand. I was headed to Columbia. Tenenbaum had only sketchy details on the place, but described it as a sort of sister city to Rapture. Different experiments, focused on one child instead of many, but she doubted it would stay that way for long. Especially considering how old her information was. I idly mopped a few drops of fresh blood from my upper lip as I moved to climb the stairs.

Back outside into the rain, then around the outside of the lamp to a door with a unique lock. Musical buttons, pressed in the right order, would call to the city above and open the way. The raving old man was quickly proven correct as I entered the code and the sky above let loose a mighty blast from a fog horn of an unimaginable size. Three times the lighthouse traded couplets of notes with the sky.

So, I was headed up, not down. A fitting parallel.

As the lamp of the lighthouse transformed into something else entirely, I stepped up and into a seat that unfolded itself. A woman’s voice, gentle and kind, instructed me to take a seat to prepare for ascension. I obeyed and wondered if I had made the right choice as restraints snapped into place on my wrists and ankles. There was a rumbling noise below that erupted into an explosion that pressed me into the cushions.

And then I was above the clouds. Bursting from the darkness of the storm into the beauty of midday sun. Black became white and I was blinded by the light. As a parachute opened and I floated like a dandelion puff on the wind, I couldn’t help but stare. A city at the bottom of the ocean, sure, wild but believable. The dream of a madman and surely impossible for all but the richest, true. But the sight that greeted me was nothing that any sane man would take for the truth.

Columbia floated. Against all laws of physics, defying gravity like a stubborn child, Columbia stayed aloft. Great chunks floated and bobbed as if the air currents were a sea much calmer than the true one below. Entire buildings held themselves aloft with nothing more than a few fans and balloons that seemed more decorative than functional. I saw a marketplace as I descended, rough chunks of earth held together with bridges that shifted places even as I watched.

And then my descent came to a stop. With a thump and a few scraping noises the pod slid inside the top of a building as if it were made for such a thing. It probably was. The door opened. Darkness and soft candle light filled my eyes as the smell of fresh, clean water invaded my nose. The ground was covered with an inch deep layer of water. It dripped from the walls in small rivers that slowly flowed down the stairs at the other end of the room.

Make Tiger the Princess, then take the "incompetent" drawback.

So now you have a Malfaean Princess who's telling everyone they are useless but she fails at stuff as well. Like she's trying to be all conquering and shit, but she's not all that terrifying and she's like a friend of cuddly nature itself.

Make it a world that he refuses to talk about and his companions will never stop ribbing him over.

Then have that Princess show up as one of his Demons.

A man in white robes stood next to those stairs, head bowed, a prayer escaping his lips so softly that I could not make out the words. The intent was unmistakable.

“Excuse me, have I arrived?” The words tumbled from my lips before I could stop them. The answer was so obvious.

“Yes, my Brother, you have arrived. Be blessed and proceed below.” His eyes never left the patch of floor and water in front of his feet, even as his lips moved.

“Below?”

“All who enter Columbia must be cleansed of the sins of the world below.” No other words followed, except for those of his prayer, which I still could not understand even as I proceeded down the stairs.

As I looked around, I realized this was a chapel. A church dedicated to a man named Father Comstock. They called him a prophet. The one who had led the sinners from below up above into the promised land. Columbia was their new Eden, safe from the horrors of life and war down below. An ethereal chorus sang softly, beautifully, hymns from somewhere I could not locate. Stained glass windows set in the walls caught the sunlight and told of the beginnings of Columbia.

It was… simply beautiful.

But then I saw one carved stone banner. “The seed of the Prophet shall sit the throne and drown in flames the mountains of man.” A chill crawled up my spine. It reminded me of the first time I had seen ominous words paired with a stern statue. I wondered what horrors I would find lurking behind the saintly imagery and lovely song. I wished I had not been forced to leave my weapons behind.
Of course, Rapture had given me weapons far more deadly than bullets or grenades. I dabbed away a fresh drip of blood from my nose and proceeded down the stairs. Running water and stone stairs made for a very slippery descent, but I managed it without embarrassing or injuring myself.

Down one more flight of stairs brought me to a path of waist deep water with candles on all sides. They bobbed in the water, flames just fractions of an inch from being swamped and put out. To my left and right were even more paths, though they were vacant. As I strode towards the end, a final stone banner stood carved above a figure in black robes and a tunnel with sunlight at the end.

“The path of Forgiveness is the only way into the city.” The white haired priest echoed the banner as I neared. “As someone from the Sodom below, you must be cleansed of your sins before you can enter the city of the Righteous.” While his body was old, his voice held a strength and conviction that all but threatened to push me backwards like a storm wind.
“I’m sorry?”

“No need to be sorry, my child. Just step forward and be cleansed in the waters of Baptism. Embrace the Sword, the Key, and the Scroll. Believe in the Prophet. Come.” His wrinkled hands beckoned me forwards, face eager and excited.

I went to him, climbing up a few steps then back down again into the pool the priest stood amidst. His smile was kind as his arms grasped my shoulders and eased me down into the water. The words of blessing rang out as I lay beneath the water. I was raised up, then dunked twice more before the priest’s eyes turned to me again. They were clouded and white.

“I don’t know. You don’t look clean to me.” Then his hand was gripping my face, shoving me back under the water. He just… held me there. As my lungs started burning, I struggled, but the priest possessed a strength I would not have credited him with. I clawed at his arm. Cloth ripped, drops of blood stained the water, but still he held me in place. Black slipped into the edges of my vision. Finally, water invaded my body. After all the years I had survived under the sea in Rapture, I was going to die by drowning above the clouds.

I wanted to laugh. Instead, I felt my heart slow, then stop.

Jump 26: Bioshock Infinite

Drawbacks:
+ Amnesia (+300, 1300) - Yorokonde cannot remember anything other than the few years he spent in and around Rapture. Even that gives him nosebleeds.
+ Songbird (+100, 1400) - Due to his being accompanied by a version of Elizabeth, the Songbird occasionally gets his programming mixed up and thinks Yoro’s Elizabeth is the real Elizabeth.

Private Investigator (Age 28)

Skills:
+ Sleuth (Free) - Hunting for clues to Columbia has given Yorokonde a certain skill at picking up on clues, tracking and trailing people stealthily, as well as a bit of skill at interrogating others.
+ Shield (200, 1200) - A magnetic-repulsive shield around your body that protects from bullets and more or less anything that would do you harm.
+ Vigorous (300, 900) - Vigors are significantly stronger for Yorokonde. Timed effects last twice as long as you can expect them to be a great deal more potent. Salt costs are also halved.
++ Undertow
++ Murder of Crows

Vigors:
+ Return to Sender (100, 800)

Items:
+ Sky-Hook (Free)
+ Broadsider (Free)
+ Cigarettes (Free)
+ Infusion (x3) (300, 500) - 2 Salts and 1 Shield
+ Elizabeth (500, 0) - An alternate Elizabeth that already met Yorokonde once and failed to keep that one alive. Prefers to be called Lizzy. Has dyed her hair, and picked up a dark blue cloak and cowl from somewhere. Comes with the Lockpicking, Codebreaker, and Tears Perks.

“Come on, breathe damn you!”

Go away.

“I said breathe!”

Pain in my chest. Just let me sleep. I’m tired. There’s nothing that way but pain and heartache and-

“I… said… live!”

A loud crack sliced the blackness with a red flare of pain.

The world spun and we were in the void again, the Warehouse floating in the middle of Nowhere and Fucked If I Know. She was standing there, still wearing a heavy jacket that covered a lot of her body, and baggy jeans to compliment it. I could hear Kat groaning in disappointment. "Aw, come on, we were in the middle of a case!"

"I could send you back to live there?" She offered with a friendly smile. I immediately raised my hands in protest. "No, no, that's fine! Gotham's fine without us! B-besides, time doesn't move while we're gone, right? Ahaha…haha…"

Kat folded her arms and tilted her head. She looked at me curiously and poked her own chin once.

"You look tired."

No shit I was tired.

"Maybe I should've started with something a little easier…I'm sorry. I saw you wanted something more exciting, so I picked a big superhero place. I was gonna send you to Metropolis next, too!"

Oh sweet mother of God, no. She must have seen my reluctance or read my mind, because she immediately changes gear.

"Buuuuuut if you wanna take a break for a while, I know a nice and cozy place to send you next!"

"Cozy is…cozy is good. Yeah. Let's do cozy." I said. Kat rolled her eyes behind me, folding her arms and mumbling something. Unlike me, she hadn't lost her hunger for adventure or excitement. The difference had driven a slight wedge between us.

"Alright, how abooooooout…Central Asia!"

"I mean I can get beh-wait, what."

Too late. The void around us spun and the world changed once again…

Burn the Terrifying Argent Witch!

...More seriously, it does feel a bit empty without the Intro and such. But I like it, particularly the Casteless tree.

...Actually. That part of Chimerical which lets you externalize some of your body mass. For the purposes of granting your Moonphase Aspects control, are those externalizations still part of your main body?

Also, what the fuck with the Catklave. I mean. I know what it is, but. What the hell?

Now, see, the thing about this place is that the hamsters are running around doing all kinds of crazy stuff al of th etime, but they have to watch out for all the troublesome things in the world. There's traffic, there's the weather, there's a cat that likes to stalk them!

I like to stalk the cat, wait until it thinks it's won, and then sneak up behind it, lean in, and whisper, "Wurf."

After watching the cat leap ten feet in the air and run to safety, I typically like to offer all the hamsters a ride to wherever they need to go! It's fun. While I'm not getting as involved as hamsters might, having a distractingly cute dog involved can help their plans!

Also, since hamsters can talk, there's no reason that a corgi can't also talk.

Also, since hamsters can play the piano, there's no reason that a corgi can't also play the piano. Hamsters CAN play the piano, right?

Hamtaro is silly, and I should blend in just fine here.

Also I did a little digging and now there's an underground hamster city.

I am a dog.

...I really wanna writefag these shenannigans, but I'm drawing a blank.

Most of Ammy's 'villainous' schemes involve doing things that end up benefiting everyone, without anyone being harmed. Kidnapping Elsa? She's trying to make friends with her and cheer her up. All that 'dark magic' that is causing clouds to gather? She's building up a rain storm to stop a drought a few kingdoms away.

Nevermind the nonsense that is Mushu as Tiger's sidekick, who never leaves him alone. Or ever shuts up.

>Power Classification and Threat Ratings did the PRT / Protectorate give you and why?
Took the Taylor Power disadvantage.

I have powers like Give it a boost from Unholy Heights, (lets you physically stack items for increased parameters)
The alloy perk from Avengers, EMH (combine materials and the resulting alloy has best properties of each component)
Visions of the Future from Duel Monsters (turn Tech into intangible magic that does not take up space and is powered by will)
Oathkeeper from Kingdom Hearts (Items can be summoned/unsummoned and repair to intitial condition over time when unsummoned, including restocking ammo)
High energy reaction from NGE, to just reproduce the effects of tech with ATE fields by thinking about it.

She looked like a tinker with a specialty in quantum science, who could use her specialty to make meta-materials that could be used in others creations, even non tinker applications. Or take existing tech and quickly boost its parameters to tinkertech levels. And use quantum uncertainty to sidestep the tinker creations need maintenance issue.

This eventually got her a tinker rating that kept going up the more power her creations showed.

I also let her use the warehouse, but it was more portal opens, finished product comes out, so it looked like it was created from quantum uncertainty. Also did empowerment of stuff like psionics, which was fluffed as quantum science stabilizing higher dimensional energy matrices.

Her rating ended up being whatever Hero's was, plus some, and Tinker that effectively makes her everything else.

Lost Castes is problematic. I thought the 3 castes were an artificial construct caused be the Moon Silver Tattoos, but the should have no effect on the casteless, who already did shift between the 5 original castes depending on the phase of the moon. One of the reasons casteless would make tatooed Lunars uncomfortable is the mutilation of the old castes in not something that happened in antiquity, it is something that happens every time a new lunar is tatooed.

I would think this should let a casteless keep his caste from changing if he wishes it, so he could keep a caste indefinitely if he wished, and have it be different from the one currently in the sky.
>>
>>52737457
Why are Lunars blocked from Essence 6+ custom charms? It sort of made sense for Dragonbloods and Infernals but if this holds true for other exalts it makes Infernals objectively the best exalts.

>Hm, maybe. They wouldn't be better than you normally, only when the opportunity to do something better than you comes up.
The problem is, that's really vague, an it basically applies to any time a jumper does anything at all. As worded, it makes challenging Solars in any area or enacting any meaningful change to creation completely hopeless, because a Solar will just say 'nope, I'm better than you' and instantly undue whatever you did and then one up you somehow any time you happen to be involved. That's worse than having to fight literally every Lunar in all of creation, because at least that's possible, but this drawback makes even a single solar literally invincible and omnipotent, and says they will always find a way to reverse whatever it is you do.

They are.

>but the should have no effect on the casteless, who already did shift between the 5 original castes depending on the phase of the moon.
But they don't, actually. Casteless shift between the three castes of the Second Age.

The castes were broken, the No Moons fixed them as best as they could, and now every Lunar's stuck with only three castes.

>>
>>52738282
>Why does it make more sense for Dragon-Blooded than for Lunars?
Because Dragonblooded don't really have a good number of E6+ charms to serve as benchmarks for what their E6+ charms should be capable of. I am to understand Lunars do.
>>
>>52738336
You do realize Lunars start doing things like shapeshifting into honest-to-goodness landmasses at that point?

>>
>>52738388

And? Power levels were never the problem. The problem was that people could wank +6 charms as much they wanted without benchmarks. With many benchmarks wanking is reduced thus the ruling is unnecessary.
>>
>>52738388
Not good enough to lock custom 6+ off from access.
>>
>>52738388
...And? You aren't locked out of Essence 6+, just custom charms.

Honestly, I think locking every Exalt out of custom charms is dumb, because it just makes Exalts with more high end support objectively better, but the ship has sailed on that argument, so I'm just going to have to accept that.
>>
>>52738282
Alright, after looking through the wiki a bit, if you take Elder of the Pact, you are about 800 years old. Is that right?
>>
>>52738455
This. Essence 6+ should just be locked out in general if you aren't going to allow customs, because allowing them for Exalts that already have more E6+ charms is just saying 'fuck you, these Exaltation are just better, the others are useless'.

Thankfully, this time didn't involve having a lifetime of context shoved into my brain, except now I only have a vague idea of where I am. Kat appears next to me, a little bit younger all over again, and immediately complains about the heat of where we ended up. Good old Kat. We head in the direction of civilization before a young man on horseback approaches us. I understand enough of his speech that he introduces himself as Ulmes, and offers to be our guide along the plains. Convenient.

Ulmes is taciturn, even when I take the time to learn the local language more fluently. He's direct, to the point, and usually handles any cultural or navigation problems we have with gusto. When I asked him about why he had approached and decided to follow us in particular, he answered with something along the lines of, "The stars guided me." Apparently he thought it was destiny he joined me and Kat.

Anyways, we wandered about Central Asia and near the Middle East, something I was amazingly leery of because of how much of my modern memories had followed me. But aside from The Great Game and periodic troubles with some riders, things were relatively calm for us. So we wandered.

Now that heavens mentions it, could you add an option for being a dragon as your base form? I'd be willing to pay out the ass for it even if it doesn't offer much or any mechanical benefit. Just want to keep my jumper's theme of only ever choosing dragons whenever any option for animal aspects comes up. It'd be kinda weird to suddenly be part wolf or snake or parakeet or something after so long of only choosing dragon motifs.

To be more precise, here are the actual ratings and the reasons why.
Mover 10: mainly Eliatrope portals and Raildex teleportation, with some dash of FISS 5.
Shaker 10: various kinds of TK and elemental manipulation with a Reality Marble and similar powers.
Brute 10: the aforementionned FISS 5 (6 in the damage resistance area).
Breaker 8: various energy forms and esoteric self-applied effects.
Master 11: mainly psionics at 'Fuck You' strength along with self-replicating artificial minions.
Tinker 12: mainly from all the various techbases my jumper had accumulated from the years.
Blaster 9: mainly from all my long-range abilities.
Thinker 11: from the sheer breadth of modifications and precog stuff done to my mind, either perk-based or self-made.
Striker 8: various kinds of touch-based powers and close-range abilities.
Changer 12: from the nearly completely unbound freeform shapeshifting methods acquired during my years.
Trump 12: from the sheer number of powers in my possession along with some direct dimensional fuckery with the shards themselves (not that they knew it was that).
Stranger 10: mainly from my shapeshifting but also some illusion powers and perception-hacking.

A few oddities happened about a month into my stay, I received a note detailing the current wealth of Voyager Industries and that their technology was ready for delivery again. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was wrong with that sentence, because I thought it was going to be left behind me in Gotham. It even came with an address to my mansion, which had been transported a day's walk nearby, and no one paid it any mind. I try thinking about how this property fuckery works. After the migraine kicked in, I decided not to question it further.

Kat kept insisting we help the locals or fight crime like the good old days. I had to chastise her that superhero antics wouldn't fly in this world, but it just served as fuel for more arguments. It didn't help that as I tried to unwind, I could still see what happened in Gotham in my sleep. The Joker. Smile. All of it. The fire. It's still there when I close my eyes, and I wake up with shivers and shakes.

I'm scared. Call me a coward, but I'm scared of running into something like that again. I just want to let go and not worry about it. Things will resolve themselves without me, won't they? I'm a Jumper, just the same as an uninvited tourist or a background character. I shouldn't be throwing myself headlong into danger. It's normal to be scared, right…?

The only thing I remember from these threads is that the food is good, and that there's huge energy attacks at the end that definitely wouldn't fly.

You could import a non-supernatural dragon. Apparently the dragons in How To Train Your Dragon somehow aren't anything supernatural, though I'm convinced we have to have more than those in all the jumps we already have (though a Reign of Fire jump would still be nice).

We wander and mark the stars, sometimes going back to the manor, something journeying around the surrounding areas again. Ulmes and I made it a habit to compete together in archery contests, trying to see who could make the farthest and most accurate shot on prey. Even though I had amazingly good training and perks backing me up, he managed to show me up consistently enough that I was convinced he wasn't human. He just smiled and said, "Good string, good arm." Or something like that. I was too flabbergasted to process it right. But no matter how hard I look, I can't find peace or a place of rest.

"Life is but a dream."

It's just the end of an old children's song. So why has it stuck with me this whole time…? I shouldn't give thoughts to the words of a madman, but…

Why does the same crowd whine about the custom charm lock every time? You'd have to get multiple jumpmakers to go back and change it to make it 'fair' now, to maintain fairness between exalts currently the propagation of the same rule has to happen.

>Personally, I don't really think it's sufficient reason to change it when all three of the other Exalt jumps do this.

That's not actually a valid argument.

Alchemicals in particular will be rather hard to justify this with - as they have zero Colossus and Municipal Charms statted up outside of fluff descriptions, and their Charms are literally magitech bolt-ons mostly designed by mortals and there are thousands of designs in their database.

Being a Magitech Giant Robot or Magitech City is cool, and City Jumper is a cool concept.

So they actually want exalts to be unbalanced by making sure only some of them can't do e6 custom charms?
>>
>>52738978

You'd only need one jump to allow it, with a note saying "and woohoo, any Exaltation you have can now do E6+ Charms, just like they would be able to in canon! Yay!".

Which completely bypasses the "unfairness" of being fair.

And yes, that's a jump treading on other jumps... except if the only reason you can supply is that it can't be changed because "other jumps did it that way", then that's already "a jump making rulings about other jumps".

Your not getting mad is appreciated.

It being stupid still doesn't change it's basically the same situation though.

At best, it could be argued to raise it to retricting every stuff 7+ instead of 6+, since there's as little Lunar Charms above 6 as there are Dragon-Blooded charms at 6+. And that'd just cause weirdness with this >>52738960

All of them are valid.

True Vampires get stronger with age (as proved with Seras). They get the skills and powers of those they eat. And Alucard was 'enhanced' by Hellsing.
>>
>>52739046
Yes.

A lot of his power probably comes from both his age and the fact that he has so many consumed souls that he can use as pawns, familiars, and sacrifices. Your jumper probably is going to have a difficult time becoming Alucard 2.0 unless they take a lot of jumps or a jump with a long time extension.

Note: It’s always nice to take a jump from one of my faborite jump makers and since I took one of his jumps for my last 50th jump I figured I would do so again. I must say though this was a tough jump to make a build for. My budget cried tears of blood.

Journal Entry # 50 - 1

There are few worlds that I have been too that make me want to squee like a fan girl. Undertale was one but I hope Sans never reads this. This is certainly another. Rather it should have been. I was all set to go fight crime besides the god damn batman in his most awesome incarnation.

However batman doesn’t like me, he was mean to me. I will be honest being rejected and told I was a danger to myself and everyone around me by him hurt. It was made worse because you do not want to hurt my feelings in front of my wives. They tend to go a tad overboard on protecting me and my feelings. To them Batman is just a clown in a bat suit how dare he speak to me that way. It took a minor miracle to stop a fight right then and there. Not how I intended to start my first week as a hero.

Journal Entry # 50 -4

So not only is batman trying to sabotage me, now I am being attacked by the league of Shadows. Oh and I have some bored rich guy naming himself the huntsman is hunting and killing criminals, and for some reason he seems to think I am the big game he is destined to hunt.

Journal Entry # 50 - 8

God Damn It!!! So I was fighting the joker… as you do as a vigilante in gotham. He was holding the Mayor hostage. Things went wrong and the mayor went splat, as I was raising the Mayor the Joker got away and I finished just in time to get a lecture from Batman about abuse of magic and how I had fucked up royally. Well gee you think Captain Obvious?

I mean I have tried everything I could to show I am a good person. I have tried to go above and beyond to be a hero and honestly I wonder if I am doing more harm than good.

Half my time seems to be spent trying to keep some of my companions from just killing the bad guys and the other half seems to be spent dealing with Batman or the League of Shadows or one of the new nutjobs that popped up. I have talked to my companions they are saying they are cool with whatever I decide but they have all on their own come and told me they don’t think I should give up just yet and the believe in me. Of course they do, they are my companions.

Journal Entry # 50 - 12

Well take that you flying rat! So Batman got caught by the Riddler and guess who saved him. Yeah I don’t care how much you bitch Bats I saved your ass. I didn’t rub it in I just took care of the Riddler and his men and made sure that everyone was safe.

He actually told me not to think that this changes anything, that he still thought I was a menace. You know it’s funny but I don’t care anymore.

Journal Entry # 50 – 15

So even some of the bat family have become reluctant allies to me. They don’t know what set Batman off on me so much either. Well whatever the case I have moved on from just dressing up like a bird and fighting psychopaths at night. I still do it but I realized there needed to be a different approach if there was going to be any changes, so I have started sponsoring after school programs to keep troubled kids off the streets, I have donated money to securing the prisons and to getting people better access to help with mental health problems. Of course all of this would be tough to do alone with even my wealth so I have wealthy friends contributing. Strangely Lex Luthor is contributing heavily to my causes. I don’t know if I can fix Gotham but I can sure make it better than it was.

Is that an in story thing, because I assumed the casteless only shifted between the three modern castes because the writer didn't think, and only included the rules for the modern ones. Once we had the old castes in the Lost Age supplement, you could use those.

Because the fact the No Moons only incorporated 3 castes into the moonsilver tatoo system having ANY effect on the Lunars who don't have the tatoos makes no sense at all.

Is Hero BBS magic really that powerful? I know Sage can do some whack shit, but even canonically, others view him as a far-out anomaly.
>>
>>52739674
Crusader
>>
>>52739589

Personally I add a houserule where:

>Each Exalted Jump you complete raises the custom charm cap by 1.

As a middle-ground between respecting the jumpmaker and disagreeing with their decision.

By the time you have five different Exaltations all bolted to a Devil Tiger chassis, with custom subsouls - Essence rating becomes a rather nebulous quality.
>>
Have you ever hurt someone on behalf of your companions?
>>
>>52739750
There are a lot of folks more powerful than him in the manga though.
>>
>>52739750
Jumpers look at max limits, not standard baselines. Otherwise most jumps would be pretty weak since usually the protagonist is leagues above what other people can do.
>>
>>52739750
Sage is level 8. There are two levels higher to go still and each one seems to be an order of magnitude better.
Theoretically Hero BBS magic is supreme bullshit, but it takes for fucking ever to get there and tons of work even if you've got something boosting your learning rate.
Sage is an outlier because he was lucky enough to get access to the resources and time to facilitate his way to the high tiers, but it's not like other people couldn't have done that if they were also in his position.
>>
>>52739750
>Is Hero BBS magic really that powerful?
Its power comes in terms of how flexible it is, and you can pretty much make a magic system to do whatever you need it to.
>>
>>52739750
You're talking about jumpers the setting. Yes it's definitely that powerful.
>>
>>52739674
Well my chain was themed on Bard so I would have to say I am a bard, not only because I have been specializing in music and buffing but because I have such a wide range of skills and abilities. Even with my companions that's the role I fill, some of them are better spell casters or fighters than me but I am quite capable in both regards; what I excel in is buffing the hell out of everyone so my small group can crush whatever we are fighting.
>>
>>52739750
That's kinda tough to answer considering what little information there is about BBS magic. On one hand, Sage got his power through an absurd amount od studying for a fer centuries, and there are also other examples of people who are even more powerful than sage, either through being freaks of nature or through serious study.

On the other hand, it's kinda tough to quantify BBS magic as a whole since it's not one magic system but an entire multiverse full of different magic systems. so the power may be limited to what magics you come across in your time there

I can only answer with a definite maybe.

the safest assumption is that by having any knowledge of magic, you can eventually reach the same feats as other characters, but without outside perks you might not have anything close to their growth rate. But that's just my interpretation, there's not much of the manga to go off of, so it's kinda unclear.
>>
>>52739845
>how flexible it is
But we hardly see any of that, right? It's mostly fireballs, teleports, and enchanted swords - at least, that's what I recall from the manga.
>>
>>52739885
>so the power may be limited to what magics you come across in your time there
Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but is there any way of getting to different settings without taking that one drawback?

>Is that an in story thing, because I assumed the casteless only shifted between the three modern castes because the writer didn't think
>Because the fact the No Moons only incorporated 3 castes into the moonsilver tatoo system having ANY effect on the Lunars who don't have the tatoos makes no sense at all.
It is an in-story thing. Fixing the Castes involved more than just making the tattoos, the Exaltations themselves were altered when the three original castes were lost to the Wyld.

Every single one of the Lunar Exaltations already had its castes fixed into these three during the early period of exile in the Wyld anyway, with the only other alternative being to allow them to dissolve entirely/become chimerae.

>and only included the rules for the modern ones. Once we had the old castes in the Lost Age supplement, you could use those.
Also, rules for Waxing Moon, Half Moon, and Waning Moon castes were alreaedy included in Manual of Exalted Power: Lunars
>>
>>52739892

>different settings

I assume you mean the different universes in BBS?

I don't really see any other way. In the event you were summoned, you could finish your quest and be sent back to your "home" dimension, but it's very unlikely that you could go anywhere else from there. The only other possibility would be to have absolutely bullshit learning perks, take the time extension drawback, or some feedback loop bullshit to beef your magic up to the point that you could make the trip on your own, but that brings us right back to your original problem. It would also probably work fine if you entered the world with those type of powers to begin with, but considering your question, I doubt that's the case.
>>
Would dark wisdom from overlord allow one to get to rank five in all the arcana in Mage the Awakening magic?
>>
>>52739988
I don't think they ever do that in the manga. Instead they just tend to dance around the subject because that's how Japanese people fucking talk all the damn time, talk about how they don't know, and then maybe one of the higher leveled heroes will take pity on you. Maybe.

Oh, and Student will show up and give useless comments.
>>
>>52740039
No, because it' a fiat-cap, not something actually represented in-setting.
>>
>>52739574
Well, maybe A is worldwide, and EX could let you conquer alien species just by talking to them?
>>
>>52740067
But there isn't. There are two fiat caps. One on your gnosis, and one capping your arcana at rank 5. The only reason you can't rank 5 all arcana with just the jump is that arcana are dependent on your gnosis, which is capped.

Though, since I tended to stick with the blast-y persona and avoided the less savory magic, I only had a few levels in Mover to round out my file.
>>
>>52739433
>Barbarian Tribe
Ok, this is cool.
I'm going to assume the 'more then a hundred miles' is the full 30 mile diameter circle for wyld spacial manipulations in creation/involving creation born, but the perks lets it go even bigger if your Barbarian Tribe goes big enough that is not enough room to accommodate their lifestyle. If that is acceptable?
I would also let this perk let companions inside the wyld area not count against your companion limit. And let all your companions choose one Beastman alt form of choice (you get to be a beastman, you get to be a beastman, everyone gets to be a beast man!)

>The Pack [100/600]
That is... wow expensive.
Could we get a 50 CP each here, or 100 CP each, 200 CP for 4, 300 CP for 8 or something?

>A Whisper Upon The Wind
nice, reminds me of the one in Sidereals that tuggs at your heartstrings wanting to exist. What all is it / can it do in plainer terms though?

>The Silver Seat
this is neat, but I do not like the limited height it can rise to. I have the temple of Heaven from Kubo and the two strings, and would place the silver seat up there orbiting it, making it mart of the celestial sphere of the archipelago. And a colony of genetically engineered moon monkeys (overwatch) might be placed there depending on how big it is on the outside.

>Catklave [200, discount Casteless]
This just sounds awkward and weird. Are you sure the person this comes from is a Lost God of Creation, and not one of the fae, because the description sounds like something a fae really fixated on cats would do.

>Solar Bondmate [400]
Also really expansive. I would drop the price since they don't get any CP or perks.
>No matter whom your bond draws you towards though, you have gained one last benefit, as you may choose the strength of your Bond yourself.
Not enough, the bond can be used to by a solar to abuse the Lunar, I would have the Lunar gain as much benefit from the bond as a Solar does, and protection from it being used as a vector of attack

>>
>>52740117
It's due to the idea of politeness in Japanese. It's considered rude to just outright tell people what's wrong with them, so you dance around it with implications and advice that doesn't really go anywhere. In that way, the other person is supposed to be able to pick up on what they're doing wrong without necessarily losing face, or the person telling you to man the fuck up not coming off as a dick, even though they are totally being a dick.
Of course, that's in real life. On the internet people are much more direct, and you're just as likely to get someone telling you to shut the fuck up already. Which will probably happen.
But it actually seems less pronounced on Hero BBS, probably because everyone seems to have static identities, more like a forum than 2ch, though that still doesn't stop everyone.

And frankly, I don't see what the issue is even if there aren't many charms above 5. Like what exactly is your problem with letting people look at the difference between essence 1-5 charms and using that to determine e6-10 charms?
>>
>>52740376
It's literally just Mardukth kowtowing to our resident nerfbitch.

Well Exalted broke new ground as far as jumps go. If the thread agrees on it, it can break new ground as far as jump balance goes too. It'll be funny to see how people critique jumps based on other jumpmakers at least.

Really high essence charms do things that aren't just scaled up effects from smaller charms.
It's the kind of thing you're supposed to have an ST handholding you through the whole way when you make them.
I can only assume Mardukth doesn't want to get 20 questions every time he shows up about whether this or that charm is ok or not. Because the reference material to compare towards those charms is barren to nonexistant it's basically 100% homebrew at that point.

In Uncharted Waters, I had my crows just kind of swoop down into other Pirate's Ships and carry out all their treasure to bring back to me, leaving only stories, a flag in the crow's nest, and a newfound reputation for crows. Over the next seven years, I accumulated all the treasure in a small Caribbean Island, then on year seven I released a document with a poem, that when deciphered, would lead to a puzzle, which lead to a clue that lead to a ship that lead to ruins which lead to the island full of treasure.

In my villain chain, I kinda took out all my nerd rage at the current state of Marvel Comics on Earth 616. I made a point of making certain characters more 'interesting' by fucking with their lives.

For example I murdered Aunt May, and when Spider-Man came after me I told him about One More Day then showed him what his life could have been like if he hadn't made that deal with Mephisto. I just rubbed his face in the fact that he gave up marriage to a woman who truly loved him and accepted both sides of his life for an old woman who should have died a long time ago.

There's more than that but honestly that's just the main point.

I choked Kayneth to (near) death in Fate/Zero in my main chain for being a shitty master to Diarmuid in canon. I also threw an entire box of angry bees in Fionn's face for letting Diarmuid die. >Ok, this is cool.
Nice.

>I'm going to assume the 'more then a hundred miles' is the full... If that is acceptable?
That is acceptable.

>I would also let this perk let companions inside the wyld area not count against your companion limit.
I am unsure. It was meant to be about the tribe itself, not the area

>And let all your companions choose one Beastman alt form of choice
That seems fine though.

>That is... wow expensive.
>Could we get a 50 CP each here, or 100 CP each, 200 CP for 4, 300 CP for 8 or something?
It's expensive, but it also nets them Celestial Exaltations and a bunch of CP.

>nice, reminds me of the one in Sidereals that tuggs at your heartstrings wanting to exist.
The presentation was inspired by that, yes. Though I'd probably have included her anyway.

>What all is it / can it do in plainer terms though?
It's mainly a source of wise advice, and a hideout beyond normal time and space.

>this is neat, but I do not like the limited height it can rise to.
It's limited to that height, because a floating manse can only rise up so far.

As a manse it still has to remain connected to the demesne it caps, the sheer inefficiency of a fully Mobile Manse would require require power from at least 5 of these exceptionally poweful manses dedicated to it, just to for it to remain in the air, nevermind it having any other effects.

>I have the temple of Heaven from Kubo and the two strings, and would place the silver seat up there orbiting it, making it mart of the celestial sphere of the archipelago.
I confess that I am unsure how that would work, with the Temple of Heaven apparently halfway being between Earth and a spiritual plane?

Perhaps you could set up the manse on wherever the Temple would be, and have it orbit that directly?

>And a colony of genetically engineered moon monkeys (overwatch) might be placed there depending on how big it is on the outside.
Probably large enough for a small colony.

In PotC and Road to El Dorado, we went around capturing slaver ships, liberating the cargo, and taking them back to their homes.

In Clone Wars, this went a step further. I used funds from a few accounts I had set up during KOTOR to buy some ships. We went about the galaxy freeing slaves and righting wrongs. Every time we found a group, they had a choice of being taken home, joining one of my crews to as an employee, or being taken to Haven, a colony made up entirely of freed slaves that I had set up way out in the ass-end of nowhere. There were near a quarter-million people there by the time the Jump ended.

>Also really expansive. I would drop the price since they don't get any CP or perks.
They do get a Solar/Abyssal/Infernals Exaltation though, which is not really a small thing.

>Not enough, the bond can be used to by a solar to abuse the Lunar,
Only through Sun and Moon Method/Lunar-Taming Leash, which just sets your Bond to max and doesn't really do anything else.

I could note that the strength of the Bond can't be altered without your permission.

>I would have the Lunar gain as much benefit from the bond as a Solar does
Solars don't get any benefit from the bond, it's only the Lunar that gets the benefits and drawbacks from the Bond.

Well, for my initiation into the emerald circle-I decided to mock the system. So, I looked up what the most fashionable hairstyles in the Realm were at the time, cultivated a luscious head of hair that shown and wafted like the God-Emperor's own but was purple. I whipped my head back and forth occasionally at boring political hobnobs for a while, and then gave myself a haircut, sacrificing my trendiness. Well, at least I thought I did. The cut hair itself turned into a minor sentient artifact from all the work and magic put into it, but that's another story.

Anyway, for the sappire circle I was running this dinosaur piss cartel, good money to revitalise the economy with-or pay for commissioning those compromising pictures of Ahlat from the Equitable Market. Until the Bronze Faction started snooping around, trying to discover the sudden increase in Beasts of Resplendant Liquids populations. Nothing held them off forever, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone sealing a few eruptions of Gaian essence in them-and then remotely cancersplosioned the beasts right in the fate ninjas' faces. And that is the story of how I sacrificed my economic prudence in order to outwit the architects of fate.

The solar circle was terrible and simple: I sacrificed my regret over my wife's...dissipation. Or rather, I sacrificed my hopes of finding peace through marriage. Ever again.

Okay, I'm going to need to ask you to back that up, with at least the names of the settings you're referring to, 'cause that sounds shifty to me.
Unless you are seriously low-balling the Great Old Ones.
>>
>>52741148
Which jump in the future will have that option, may I ask?
>>
>>52740376
>And frankly, I don't see what the issue is even if there aren't many charms above 5. Like what exactly is your problem with letting people look at the difference between essence 1-5 charms and using that to determine e6-10 charms?
Because people are shits.

Like a couple threads ago, someone tried to start shit about a jump, saying that because it didn't have a drawback cap, that means the jump allows onmipotence. Nevermind that this was a lower powered jump and taking every perk in the jump would not actually grant you limitless cosmic power, or anything like it.

Finding something to pick apart and put down jump is what they do. And 6+ charms are basically fanwank territory. So once you have them, then step one is to post something like E10 means you win at everything forever, and no one can say any different.

Then step two is saying Lunars is just Powerwanking and should be rejected, with a side of Mardukth should go away.

So 6+ charms beyond the published ones are not allowed because they are not represented enough in cannon to be accurately represented in the jump, and especially not by casual jumpers who are not intimately familiar with the setting.

Neato. Consider it changed for now. Need to get around to actually changing it but I'm on a roll with Majikoi writing and don't want to stop.

Not worried either, just pointing out that you do still need the factor. Also that the war ending that way isn't guaranteed. Still, achievable, no problem with it.

Grand Order. Maybe Apocrypha might have something, not sure. Might be a scenario. Hollow Ataraxia might have a sort of option like that, probably isn't too hard to guess why it'd be a sort of option if you know the game.

For the Emerald Circle, well, I took a drawback in Infernals that resulted in a certain part of my anatomy being some type of demonic stinger dick. So I ended up giving up demon hookers.

For the Sapphire, I realized that being constantly off my rocker was not conducive to escaping my Oaths and the bounds of Malfeas, so I gave up demon coke.

For the Adamant Circle, I gave up... – well, look, it may seem weird to view this as a sacrifice, but I was trapped in Malfeas for centuries and it was fun with all of my healing factors. – my relationship with Adorjan. Which, uh, she didn't really "accept". And I was still trapped in Malfeas.

I honestly have no idea if those would be valid or not, but they were funny to me.

You should at least have the no Essence 6+ charm thing apply to other entities within the jump. If only so that someone who wastes cp on the capstone booster isn't COMPLETELY crap compared to other Lunar Elders. Movie adaptation? You mean that OVA? Yeah, that's the one.

The villain is probably the strongest villain out of all the Fates, barring maybe CCC. Not sure on that since BB/Kiara goes for more hacky bullshit then pure power like Solomon/Goetia.

You won't be able to stop GO's plot from at least starting, since it's been in the works for a long time and you start off at the start of the story, but you can interfere in some ways depending on what capabilities you have.

Blame the Jackal.

During Superior-Spider Man, the Jackal broke into Mr. Sinister's DNA stash he made pic related. She had the ability to transform into a giant spider monster and shoot red eye blasts like Cyclops.

It's never explicitly said whose DNA she was made from. Given that she's blond, the Jackal has made clones of Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy in the past, and Mr. Sinister DEFINITELY has a sample of Cyclops's DNA with his obsession with the Summers family...

Peter Parker, Scott Summers, and Gwen Stacy are the most likely genetic samples used to create this hybrid clone.

Of course she only appeared in one issue as a giant monster for Otto to defeat and never appeared again on-panel , with Beast carrying her off after she was subdued to join the Jean Grey School. She had the mind of an infant because the Jackal didn't bother putting any sort of info or skills in her head. Tom Brevoort later made a random off-the-cuff statement that she flunked out of school or the something.

GO's movie is more of an alternate continuity that takes place very, very early on and doesn't really get into the ridiculous escalation. The most notable thing that happens is Caster Cu somehow being a million times more competant than his Lancer mode. Question about this. If I give something up for like one jump, then start again the next, do I lose my ability to do Sorcery?
>>
>>52741283
Honestly, anything you could make as a high essence charm you could make as an essence 5 charm and nobody would bat an eye, because the majority of canon high essence charms have their minimums artificially inflated just so they can advertise having e6+ charms in the book.

Why is a Hood on Death (create a moderately powerful disease god servant and cure that disease over a large area) Essence 7 when Demon of the Third Circle (summon a top tier spirit but temporarily with a chance of breaking free) is only 5? Or why can Lunars only turn into geographical features at Essence 7 if Infernals can do it at Essence 5? If you want to get away with making high essence charms, make one and then set it's essence min to 5 instead. Nobody will know the difference.

The high essence ban does stop people from powerwanking bullshit charms, but it also stops people from creating equivalents for high essence canon Solar and Lunar charms, because we can tell that those effects belong to higher essence ratings, but we aren't allowed to make our own equivalents because paradoxically we "don't have anything to balance them against." I guess the problem will finally go away when we have jumps for all splats, but it's annoying until then.
>>
>>52741283
>So once you have them, then step one is to post something like E10 means you win at everything forever, and no one can say any different.
What's wrong with this? If they win then they win. The chain ends, and they don't have anything to do with this place anymore. No different from Sparking.

>Then step two is saying Lunars is just Powerwanking and should be rejected, with a side of Mardukth should go away.
This is equally stupid. More jumps are rejected because of the jumpmaker (case in point SJ-Chan, DDanon, Dirge) than because of powerwanking. For every person you have arguing powerwanking you'll have another argue nerfwhore, and the jump will still get on the drive regardless.

You're making a big fuss over nothing.
>>
>>52741417
Examples of First Age Elders (who are still at least twice your age with the Elder perk) are statted up in some of the books, without any custom charms.

...Well, except for Leviathan's Selenographic Transmission Technique. But that's only essence 3 and hyper-specialised for his purposes.

It's explicitly noted that it's assumed that "even characters with only core Charms are capable of the world-shaking power appropriate to a Lunar elder of Leviathan’s stature."

But sure, you can assume they're not going to bust out Essence 6+ Charms.

>>52741486
You can't lose the ability to do Sorcery, no. (well, at least not without losing your Exaltation somehow.)

The sacrifice isn't really supposed to be a temporary thing though, at least, not planned. Swearing an oath you don't intend to keep wouldn't work for example.

But then, there's the whole 'cut off a finger, and regrow it' thing, so do whatever?

There are several perks that allow you to become an eldritch abomination. A lot of Valeria's jumps are key to getting up to the same power level and tying yourself to the world through magic effects. Many people here are obsessed with taking things beyond whatever limits they feel they have.

>>
>>52741526
Those examples aren't good, to be honest. Infernals can't turn into geography indefinitely, unlike Lunars, before E8. Demon of the Third Circle is a sorcery, which has the hype of being the Primordials' Creation-forging tool, whereas Charms are meant for smaller scale applications-and Hood does cure everyone for miles of that particular disease as a side effect. It is primarily a Medicine Charm, not an Occult one after all.

And then I froze myself in a giant ball of ice and stone and meteored my way down to earth.

I don't mind the ridiculousness here, but what I do mind is Doc McNinja constantly reminding me that I pussied out of medical school. And we're second cousins, which is family enough that I can't seem to get rid of him, but can't punish him for reasons like pointing out my legit failings.

I mean, outside of getting his family on his ass about becoming a doctor more or prank wars. I'd set down a whoopy cushion when he got a date, he'd switch out the sugar and salt in their shakers, I'd move his car into the lobby of his office, he'd drug me and leave me in Mexico, I'd conduct dark rituals to get ancient evils to plague his life, he'd mail me a pipebomb with a cheeky note, I'd replace all the shoes his size in town with squeaky variants, etc.

All of this was just in the background to the actual weird shit going on. Paul Bunyans and future dinosaurs and ancient temples and invading alternate dimensions. At least my companions and weird high-tech archipelago weren't out of place and were actually where Doc went on a vacation once. Just like I wanted him to...

So? The effect should still fundamentally be achievable at Essence 5, just make it a Solar Circle spell instead of a Charm.

The point is that when people think "high essence charm" they're thinking of Shimnaic Callibration or broken Sidereal Martial Arts, and most high essence charms are nothing like that.

>I am unsure. It was meant to be about the tribe itself, not the area
More about making this usable as a inactive companion waiting area, instead of being non-existant/stuck in stasis in the warehouse. I normally request that for pocket dimension type places, and this is pocket of the wyld seemed like a good place to relax. You know, go hunting, follow the herds, etc. and the beast man alt form would help them fit in no matter what mix of critters you chose the barbarians to be. So if you have more companions then you can afford to import as Lunars or beyond the companion limit, they can take leadership positions in your tribe, and still have fun.

>Perhaps you could set up the manse on wherever the Temple would be, and have it orbit that directly?
Yeah, if I put the temple in the Archipalego, and place the Demesne on top of the temple grounds so it moves around it, that might work.

>It's mainly a source of wise advice, and a hideout beyond normal time and space.
What does it look like once you get there? Amenities, grounds, what does the scenery look like, etc? Are there stars in the sky, or have the stars gone out? Because right now I am getting Ceceline vibes here with the Pyramid, sands, and hidden paths.

>It's expensive, but it also nets them...
I kind of think that should not matter that much, because you are not getting the power. Companions imports are about letting them grow with you. This makes it possibly to expensive to buy when they need it most.

Also, you made the Infernals more expensive because there were so few of them, and they gave you a lot of political pull in the think infernal. But that is not the case here, where there are 6 times as many Lunars, and voted are not equal, a Elder counting far more than a fledgling cub.

Nah, it's a super-racist Lunar.

He failed to protect his Solar leader, and his leader's wife (who he was having an affair with), and so went kill-crazy on all Dragonblooded nearby, sank the city in the picture and went off in a huff.

The survivors were trapped at the bottom of the ocean, and became mutant sea-creature-people, who hated the surviving Dragonbloods.

Eventually, Leviathan returned, saw their racist Rapture, liked the cut of their institutional apartheid, and set himself up as their god.

So there's a First Age battlefortress, sunk underwater, with a partial complement of First Age warbirds and striders (that the natives have forgotten about) and a few hundred essence turrets, who all worship a crazy asshole and oppress a tenth of their population for being descendants of Dragonbloods (even though it's very rare for any to Exalt now, after a millennia of executions).

The Lunars, being kinda shit at the whole "making a better future" thing due to their territoriality, suspect that Leviathan might actually be Whale Hitler, but they can't be arsed to check up on it.
>>
>>52741710
Since >>52741634 doesn't want to be helpful, if you're looking to work your way up the ladder instead of taking a detour path to get the eldritch abominations, you'll first need eating perks for getting powers based on eating. You could use the Amazo Eating as a shortcut through this and work your way from there upwards.

You don't necessarily need an alien physiology to become Azazoth like, but Evangelion works well if you have no fallback option. From there run through Valeria's jumps and focus on all the high power options like Infinity and True Magics. If you have a chance visit the Gamer and abuse mechanics from there to help speed up growth, setting up the super accelerator helps as well.

You can use philosopher stones or just consume entire universes outright with a bit of extra work, jumps like vacation jumps (ARIA, Catastrophe, SoL) are good for this since there's little opposition. If you want to do it safe, grab the power consumption and growth kit first, burn through all the low power jumps to collect souls and power, then go through Valeria's jumps for the Elder God part.

>A question: Does Windows to the Soul only work with standard orb eyes? Because way back in Terra Formars (remember when Mosaic Organ Operations were the big thing everyone obsessed about? Good times.) I got Ophiocoma Wendtii as my surgery base. It's a type of starfish that is basically one giant eye, it's got fiberoptic cable for a skeleton and skin made out of Fresnel lenses. Would be cool if I could channel my eye magic through my whole body that way. Not a huge problem if I can't, I can just shapeshift some more eyes, but it would be cool.

Because your jumps provide the power base and the means to reach what anon was going for with the least amount of extra combinations necessary. It would take multiple jumps to achieve the same results of things like the True Magics or Infinity. If you're going to min max efficiency is key.

Well, this place is a bit of a crafters delight. Definitely a place to grab upgrades for a variety of equipment. Not to mention, I can make containers with infinite supplies of various liquids. I also have a vending machine that gives me liquids to prime said containers with. Infinite liquid gold, adamantium, vibranium, any metal, any potion. This is perhaps the single most broken toy I have acquired. Over the course of my stay here, I will set up a crafting corner in my warehouse. My newest dimension will be jungles and rivers. I'll also need to conquer my latest netherworld isle. I'll have a lot of fun dealing with Terraria worlds though. Upgrading my stuff as far as I can.

Doubt it. Goetia is probably the only person in Grand Order who would hate jumping, because it invalidates everything he ever bothered giving a shit about. You'd have to mindfuck him quite a bit to get him out of that loop, pretty much rewrite his character from scratch.

>More about making this usable as a inactive companion waiting area, instead of...
Hm, alright. I'll think about it.

>Yeah, if I put the temple in the Archipalego, and place the Demesne on top of the temple grounds so it moves around it, that might work.
Cool.

>What does it look like once you get there...
It's definitely a Cecelyne vibe, yeah. (Writer commentary mentions that they believe it to be the sands of Cecelyne's Endless Desert long before that truly existed)... So, yeah, the stars have gone out.

In any case, Phrye's a living monument, and pretty much looks like the Eye of Providence floating over an unfinished pyramid (and something at the heart of the monument, which only Luna has ever seen).

You'll find comfortable living amenities in there, though you might want to import some extra furniture (since I'm not sure she would have that)?

Phrye can probably also show you some pretty funky stuff, considering she took Luna on "a journey of the cosmos".

>I kind of think that should not matter that much, because you are not getting the power. Companions imports are about letting them grow with you. This makes it possibly to expensive to buy when they need it most.
You're still getting a group of Lunar Exalts to help you though, I'm not sure why that wouldn't benefit you?

>Also, you made the Infernals more expensive because there were so few of them, and they gave you a lot of political pull in the think infernal...
That was my reasoning for the 200cp a piece Infernals, yes. I only lowered it to 300cp for the first four to get a full Coven going.

It's not like Lunars actually vote on stuff a lot, they don't have anywhere near the organisation the Infernals have.

Hm. I think I'll add the option to do 300cp for four instead too? I don't want to go to 50cp per though, because they're already the best purchase in the jump, in terms of what you get for your CP.

Generic energy blasts, most of the time. Concussive Essence Cannons of various sizes are the most common variant and just smash into people pretty hard.

Like, the pistol-sized version hits with the force of a rocket launcher, and it scales up from there.

Kind of shitty. Shards of the Exalted Dream gives us stats for non-magical energy weapons for use in the sci-fi alternate settings it has. Concussive Essence Cannons don't stack up all that well compared to them. They've got better range, that's about the best you can say for them. If you want good Essence-powered artillery, go for either Implosion Bows or Lightning Ballistas. I guess being based on more-familiar crossbow technology meant the Exalted were better able to figure out how to refine them.

Pretty much, except it's made pretty fucking hard by him leaving his trident on the control console - needing 60 dice on a strength/athletics check to move it.

So you need to keep him alive long enough to move it, or invest far too much time into improving your ability to lift.

Though, that said, it's just a trident left across the armrests. You could probably shapeshift around it to fit in the throne.

Duplicate a weaker version of any non-omnipotent character:

>(1) Self Duplication
We're spawning empowered (fractional) clones of ourselves to get the starting point.

>(2) Kids Next Door Girlifying/Boyifying Rifles
Use these to toggle the target to the appropriate sex, and blank their memory in the process.

>(3) Immersion (Infinicon) & Dress Up (Peter Pan)
Both powers that let you become what you dress up as. Immersion gives you 50% of the target's power, which can be compensated for by other relevant stat boosting perks outside the scope of this combo

>(3.5) Real Eater - Because Immersion only lets you have a single target, you need to be able to change it for each clone.

Now, if you slip too deeply into immersion, you lose yourself to the character you're being. But, these duplicates selves are already lost to the rifles. So, it shouldn't take long cosplaying/roleplaying someone to become them.

And, because they're derived from you/started as duplicates of you, no Pods/Feathers/anything else required to take them from world to world with you.

Could possibly be enhanced by a retained drawback that weakens your willpower/sense of self.
>>
>>52742441
Or you could just get the Heart Wand from Sonichu (I know, ugh, but still) and skip that process entirely. Just hand them the wand. Bam, gender-swapped (so I guess the Girlifying/Boyifying Rifles would still be useful) companion clone of anyone.

Ehhh... Concussive Essence Cannons still have higher damage than the sci-fi energy weapons, in addition to the better range. Even compared to the magical stuff.

Mostly, they just fire slower and need more maintenance... Which makes sense, considering they're meant as artillery instead of personal-scale weaponry, in a fantasy setting instead of scifi.
>>
>>52742441
That's pretty risky and more than a little disturbing, but a well put together combo.
>>
>>52742490
Ah, but even if I (and keep in mind, I just advocated brainwashing clones of myself) were willing to sink to THAT level, that creates companions, which are bottlenecked.
>>
>>52742528
I was comparing to the human-portable versions of Essence cannons. Which do the same damage as mundane blasters (assuming no charms to convert bashing to lethal), have slightly better range, worse accuracy, and cost a much, much more expensive resource to fire than power cells. Any mote you spend on your ray gun is a mote you're not spending on charms.
>>
>>52742540
>that creates companions, which are bottlenecked.

No, you don't. Because you don't have to be a Kami to purchase the perk. Having an option even mention in-jump purchases is questionable. No other perk in the jump is affected by other perks in such a way. You could literally have it range from "completely and utterly useless" to "one of the best purcahses in the jump". Perks should be self-contained except in the instance of capstone-boosters. The way it is now, the reflections wouldn't even have memories and skills obtained elsewhere.

She's generally a bit friendlier and relaxed, seems less murder-y too. I'd say to check out the Quest itself to get a feel for her personality, because I'm really bad at describing that.

>Also, more of a general Exalted question but I noticed a discrepency in Total Annihilation-says once it's exploded, it can't be parried even with Charms. Goes on to single out perfect dodging and soaking working fine, but not parrying for some reason.
>Just curious, does perfect defence primacy still take precedence, or are there any other examples of spells that are effectively treated as being an Imperfection unto themselves?
It's basically just an Unblockable attack. There's a few of those, and you need a perfect defence that states it can parry unblockable stuff to do so.

So, Heavenly Guardian Defense and such would work, but other Perfect Parries might or might not depending on whether they have that clause.

This apparently means a perfect dodge doesn't need a clause that it can dodge the undodgeable though, so that's kinda weird. But not really a problem as such.
