So is it a bad idea to use orphans as a power source?
>>
>>52586509
Yes. You ever seen Venture Brothers?
>>
>>52586536
Nope. I mean nobody is using them so why not use them for energy? I can work them to death on giant hamster wheels then use their organs as magic ingredients or sell them for parts.

If I do good I can even use them to make more orphans!
>>
>>52586509
Yes, orphans are sub optimal. It is entirely preferable to create a new power source from the ground up.
>>
>>52586560
so kill people's parents then?
>>
>>52586509
Never use orphans, it is easier to enslave entire families and use the children as incentive.
>>
>>52586491
Delet This.
>>
>>52586560
It worked just fine in flapjack.
>>
>>52586509
Hey, Kirei did just fine with his orphan battery.
>>
whats there to do in fate?
>>
>>52586509
Yes, because then either one of them will escape or one of their family members will end up coming after you. And then you're fighting against narrative causality as the underdog hero struggles to defeat the evil orphan enslaver. You've practically ensured your own horrible defeat.

I kinda want to, but I'm currently planing on Arc/Arche and Gaia, so I kinda dun wanna. It would be like inviting a third cousin twice removed to you mom/daughter threesome.
>>
What have you accomplished today jumper?
>>
>>52587390
Real life or in character? Out of character I made a build for Exalted Dragonblooded, in character I made a design for a matrioska brain the size of a galaxy and have started development. Right now it's about the size of the solar system.
>>
>>52587450
>matrioska brain
What?
>>
>>52587390
I finished the samurai perk line for ffxi I think
>>
Hybrid Demons in SMT only use the best stats of each race, right? Non-unique things don't stack?
>>
>>52587482
A matrioshka brain (I misspelled it, god damn) is a superstructure like a dyson sphere, it surrounds a star and uses that energy to perform computations. My design isn't really that, but rather based on it. I have a different energy source at the center and am using a combination of technology from places like Supreme Commander to continuously make it bigger, and therefore making it capable of performing more calculations.
>>
>>52587550
I suggest hitting up Blame then and getting some info on how they made their dyson solar system.
>>
>>52587482
Think of a giant computer that's wrapped around a star for power needs.
>>
>>52587601
I've technically already been there, but I haven't gotten into Blame yet and every time it gets mentioned I'm reminded of how much of a gold mine it is for science jumpers. I'll go take a look.

Personally I've been looking up some stuff on Old Walkers because of a conversation we had last Thread. Getting a hold on some of the books would have been difficult but my sister had most of them so I got to read through the some pre-Mending books without having to shell out any cash. As far as I can tell there's no evidence to upport the guy who was saying that pre-Mending Walker Sparks were weaksauce/the same as post-Mending.
>>
So quick update on the Stellaris Jump, I've decided to remove the Empire Starting Tech sections and replace them with a generic gear and items section, both due to the almost impossible to scale nature of Stellaris technology, and the fact that I may not have the time to finish it.

That being said however the Jump should be finished by May if not sooner.
>>
>>52587834
What innate abilities do they have?

Actually, does the Spark itself generate mana? Because otherwise don't people have to draw mana from mana bonds that are time consuming? Why do they get an immediate power boost?
>>
>>52587865
Nice, thanks stella. Any hint on wether we will be getting some of that sweet dysin ring tech or wandering ball of AI tech? The ai one was neat, do some favors and he rewarded you with a research upgrade.

I'm pretty sure we don't have a mega man star force jump, but doesn't it take place 100 or so years after one of the others? Are there any 'stay for 100 years' drawbacks I can keep in order to go there the long way?
>>
>>52587662
It really isn't; all the stuff that is worth studying by a tech jumper is heavily decayed, extremely dangerous to mess with, in the hands of the Silicone creatures, and/or spawns SuddenlySafeguard.gif if you go near it.

Pre-Mending, those with an activated planeswalker's spark had additional innate powers; they were almost immortal (Ageless/immune to illness/etc), invulnerable (Could only be killed by another Planeswalker), granted vast magical power, and could shapeshift. This is in addition to the ability to just 'feel' other Planes, really helpful in the Blind Eternities, and Planeswalking in general, though I did find a passage about some Planeswalkers not being able to Walk further than the local area because they lacked the power to do so, because the Blind Eternities require constant output far outside the range of a normal wizard or witches' abilities to keep up or something along those lines. Post-Mending Sparks could get all of the above through other means but they didn't innately start out with it, which annoyed Nico Bolas something awful.

Pre-Mending Sparks seem to have able to produce their own Mana, which is awesome and terrifying if Gaunlet's whole one Mana is tapping out an entire land for days thing is for real. Drawing Mana from Mana Bonds seems to be a more efficent way of drawing Mana, because it doesn't effect your innate reserve at all to throw around the lands Mana, but until recently the Planeswalkers had trouble keeping bonds across multiple planes working, no idea why just that it was a thing.

I don't know the whys for the Pre-Mending power boost but I do know that the Mending itself changed the Spark in a number of ways, it was their explanation for Revisionist retcons which nerfed the Spark pretty hard in some places.

If you're looking for tech, Halo has stronger tech on all fronts, from superstructure construction to AI to weapons. The perk from Halo for science will stomp the entire setting of Blame flat into the ground.
>>
>>52588104
Which perk was it?
>>
>>52588104
>The perk from Halo for science will stomp the entire setting of Blame flat into the ground.

I don't remember Master Chief shooting through miles of a structure too dense to exist in normal gravity conditions, killing a being that can teleport chunks of a sun as an attack and surviving long enough buried in lava for it to have hardened.
>>
>>52588101
>invulnerable (Could only be killed by another Planeswalker)
Bolas getting shanked by Tetsuo Umezawa begs to differ.
>>
>>52588104
Also, Halo AIs go crazy naturally rather than because of weird gene cults ruining everything, and are nowhere near as good at interfacing with the physical world. As in, they can't turn people into clarktech robots seemingly with a touch.
>>
>>52588066
None of that is a problem, really. The most dangerous things in setting (as far as I'm aware) are the Safeguard, but they won't attack me since I've got the Net Terminal Gene.

>>52588104
Are you sure? As far as I can tell Halo has nothing on par with the megastructure nor anything close to the capabilities of the GBE unless we include stuff on par with Halo array, which are super weapons that behave in a completely different manner
>>
>>52587959

Oh, if you get FF1 finished, I'd love to start a chain using that. (Oh, please include a 'generic' companion option. Keep in mind we need three other companions unless taking the disad to 'solo' the game.)

Oh, right. I should probably give the head's up on my plans for the Heaven's Lost Property update. Ye who enjoy waifu robots, listen closely.

A few things is that this was made a bit before I began to actively contribute to the power creep (I am so, so sorry), and there's a few weird design decisions I made at the time due to my inexperience. So here are my plans:

>1. Give Angelroids a proper perk tree, and change their current perks into a subsection.
>2. Include an option/booster that makes you akin to Ikaros or Chaos. Probably an expensive subsection item
>3. Remove the weird caps on Pandora, but balance it a bit so it's not just a spontaneous altform generator for MK1. MK2 will work the same way it does it canon.
>4. Expand the perk trees for civilians, since they're a bit random and lacking in themes. Considering a 1/1/2/2/4/4/6/6 format, though I might not bother adding another capstone.
>5. Synapse Residents will get more tech options.
>6. Cheaper canon companion options with less conditions attached. I went a bit ham on the mandatory drawbacks on things that would otherwise be a given.

Any thoughts or input on what to do for the update will be welcome.
>>
>>52588104
That's cute, anon. You're cute. Pretty much everything you said there is a lie. And I know you won't back down from the lie, because you really just want to start an argument. Maybe because it's a Dirge jump and you want to make arguments be associated with hi, maybe just because you like to argue on the internet. I don't know. Either way, you're a sad little person.
>>
>>52588104
The only thing in HALO that comes near the City is the Rings, and considering the City's mass actually FILLS UP the solar system-sized space it's commonly cited to take up I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually much denser.

>>52588137
I have no idea what he's talking about either. At no point does HALO access alternate universe, unlike Blame@
>>
>>52588066
Have netgenes and you can just order the ai to give you info.
>>
Oh and I'd love to know how to get special dispensation for SDA to make a Stardust jump.
>>
>>52588167
-1/10, there was no effort this time.
>>
>>52588119
It's no perk, because the tech perk in Halo just gives you mastery of human science, which is incredibly far behind Forerunner tech, which is itself far behind Blame tech. The only way you can say it's better is if you supremely wank and say "well, the ancient species that the Forerunner were at war with were actual humans before they blasted us back to the stone age and wiped out any trace of our star empire, so mastering human tech means you have a mastery of that". Which is dumb.
>>
>>52588185
And even that's debatable, because if ancient humans had anything on par to what the City could do when properly operational-they would've won. Because they could've just drowned the Forerunners in Safeguard-level drones or something
>>
>>52588137
Halo Wars 2 confirms extremely large Forerunner Megastructures. And Halo Arrays do trump GBE handsdown but the Composer is probably a better comparison.

>>52588132
Rampancy has been solved by the Forerunner cosmic network. The second problem you brought up was solved by Cortana being given a body by the Forerunner enlightenment. The third issue is also solved by Forerunner tech with instant replication.

>>52588121
Halo Ring Activation > your GBE.

>>52588119
I think it should either be the Reclaimer jump in the Covenant jump or the USMC science perk in one of the originals, since all of the important tech is Forerunner.
>>
>>52588200
Also, and I just checked to make sure, it says you have a mastery of modern human technology, specifically. So yeah, no, it's impossible.

The Meteor Hammer spell was used by Tetsuo Umezawa to destroy the Imperial Shrine and thus rob Nicol Bolas of the mana base he needed to manifest in Dominaria whilst the dragon was in the Meditation Plane, trapping the dragon in a spirit world in question.

Bolas didn't die he was forced out of Dominaria by putting all his eggs in one basket. He was kinda pissy about that too and left to go beat the tar out of Night's Reach because she's the reason that Tetsuo existed on Dominaria in the first place.
>>
>>52588157
You sound like a dipshit wanting to bring up your Dirge for no good reason. If you want to bring him up that badly you should go over to SB where you can rave about him all you want.

>>52588159
That's not true, I'm not sure if you're up to date on Installation 00, but the ending scene of Halo Wars 2 confirms it making a Ring, and the Ring being about 2 - 3 % of the Ark in size.
>>
>>52588208
Do you know what the forerunner megastructures are called? I'd like to take a look.
>>
>>52588208
You just seem like a rabid fanboy for all things HALO, because absolutely none of this sounds terribly better than what's in Blame! other than the rings (which are far, far less practical than the GBE) and possibly the Megastructures, which you haven't convinced me are anywhere close to filling up an entire solar system's worth of space while branching into alternate universes, and having the potential to spread out even further.

>>52588255
Also, assume I know nothing about the Ark. Why is 2-3% of it impressive compared to the City?
>>
>>52588221
Reclaimer-800 CP: The holy relics that the divine forerunners left behind do not yield easily. They seem to lack any and all respect for the noble scions of the covenant. Only when many prying, inquisitive eyes have been laid upon them do they finally yield portions of their holy wisdom. Not for you, jumper. For the great god machines recognize you as a "Reclaimer"- and not only yield to your touch, but invite you further, to share in their knowledge and delve into their structures. Post-jump, all structures left behind by ancient, long-dead alien races shall recognize you as heir in much the same manner.
>>

>>
>>52588208
>Halo Wars 2 confirms extremely large Forerunner Megastructures. And Halo Arrays do trump GBE handsdown but the Composer is probably a better comparison.
Still smaller than the City. Installation 00 is the size of a planet, the City is the size of a solar system. Many orders of magnitude larger than the largest Forerunner megastructure. There are empty spaces in the City larger than it. And yeah, the Halo Arrays and Composer might trump the GBE, but the GBE is a personal weapon. Not even a main gun, it's a sidearm. Scale it up to the same size as those Forerunner super-weapons, and it will be more powerful.

>>52588276
Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about perks that give you knowledge of Forerunner tech inherently, which we don't have any of. If you just want to examine and learn from their tech, maybe, but it's still worse overall than the City's.

You did nothing wrong bro, Power creep was always a thing in jumpchain long before you were here. Also will those angelroids that the jumper can create still count as followers?
>>
>>52588271
The ark is one, its bigger than earth but its a flat earth kinda deal, I think thats the biggest thing the forerunners made.

But if you have good enough computer skills then you could just download all the info in the archive.
>>
>>52588246
Looking into that again, it appears that's true, and Planeswalker need enormous amounts of mana to manifest on a plane.

...That's actually worse than before.

Additionally, the wiki says he was then lain by Tetsuo in the Meditation Plane, without the access to stupid amounts of mana from Dominaria.
>Using the Meteor Hammer spell, Tetsuo destroyed Bolas's Imperial Shrine, while Bolas's body was inside, severing the elder dragon's anchor to Dominaria completely. The dragon had abandoned his body, unaware of the trap, and followed Tetsuo to the Meditation Plane, where he was killed by Umezawa in this weakened state.
>>
>>52588321
They...never did, to my knowledge? At least, I never really made a ruling on that, since everyone handles 'beings I created/my progeny' differently. If that's how folks wanted to do it, I wouldn't make a fuss about it.

tl;dr It's one of those universal rules I don't think much about, so that's up to you.
>>
>>52587865

>>
>>52588275
Its not as impressive. The city is the size of a solar system. The ark is the size of a planet.
>>

And you come across as a rabid Blame fanboy trying to wank your setting equally hard, so what's your point? If you want to get down to the details there are plenty of advantages, most of which you don't seem to want to acknowledge over wanking about your structure's solar system size.

>Dividing by Avogadro's constant and you get 1.66*10^58 moles

>stomp the entire setting

You seem to be unaware or absurdly optimistic about the difficulty of taking HALO rings to another jump, positioning and activating them.

Also I can't help but notice according to the wiki, the Rings operate by "harmonising all neurological frequencies" which, while impressive for the scale it operates on, is an apples and oranges kind of thing compared to the raw firepower Blame! tech is most sought after for.

>>52588354
Knew it.
>>
>>52588308
>>52588328
I think Blame might be a better deal for megastructures, then, considering both the size as well as the near indestructible nature of the material. Halo is probably better for hardlight, though, which I plan to incorporate in the Brain.
>>
so what I'm seeing is I need to include a City and a GBE for CP to replace the Blame jump, or just a science perk that gives them both.

>which you haven't convinced me are anywhere close to filling up an entire solar system's worth of space while branching into alternate universes, and having the potential to spread out even further.
They're objectively not. The largest Forerunner constructs are the Shield Worlds, which have a diameter of around three hundred million kilometers. Pretty big, sure. But the City has a diameter of thirty AU. That's over four BILLION kilometers. And the Shield Worlds are hollow, they're "Micro Dyson Spheres" to use the franchise's term. The City is a continuous structure throughout. It has hollow spaces, sure, but even if only a tenth of its volume was solid that would still make it three orders of magnitude more massive than the Shield Worlds.

It's not that it takes a lot of Mana to manifest but by splitting his spirit and body apart the only way he could manage the transfer back from the Meditation Plane would have been to create an entirely new body out of pure Aether, which takes power by the gallon because even way back when Bolas was a Dragon you could summon he cost a pretty penny to summon. See pic related.

>>
>>52588369
>if you want to get down to the details there are plenty of advantages

Get this through your thick skull: I totally believe you. I'm more than happy to accept HALO tech likely has greater versatility in other areas (the high end biotech seems more impressive, if nothing else, since the Silicon Life really aren't doing so hot).

But YOU'RE the one who threw down the gauntlet by declaring HALO would stomp Blame! Which is wank without a very, very good justification for a setting which has not demonstrated the ability to travel to alternate universes.

>>52588421
I would pay CP to be an NPC and stay out of that un-romance.
>>
>>52588421

>>
>>52588421
I'd rather be Infochan. I mean being a yandere would be fun, but Yanchan is fucked in the head in a not fun way.
>>
>>52588420
That's odd, because the description of the Imperial Shrine says he needs a ton of mana to stay on a plane.

>The Imperial Shrine was the place where the highest ranking officers in the Madaran Empire had their audiences with emperor Nicol Bolas. The elder dragon needed tremendous amounts of mana to stay on a plane for long, so he usually only manifested partially in the shrine, which was located in the middle of three strong mana lines: blue from the Suido River, black from Madara’s various swamps and red from the Gitte-Yatay Mountains.
>>
>>52588430
I don't actually know that much about HALO construction stuff but to be fair-don't they mainly make superstructures out of hardlight? So logically they wouldn't need as many drones in theory; I'm not the HALO advocate though

>>52588448
Infochan is pure evil

I can see the appeal
>>
>>52588414
How does it compare to, what was it, Red Dwarf? The hard light there is nearly indestructible, IIRC, it just had the issue of being easily short circuited.

>>
>>52588394
Thing is the City would have to be at least 600 CP or even higher and bringing it around is troublesome unless you're going to make it a warehouse extension. Cheaper or free GBEs will probably be pretty popular though. Best of luck anon.
>>
>>52588466
Well the blame bots have some really awesome stuff going on, but halo has much better hardlight.

On the other hand the ai in blame can physically create matter at will.

On the other other hand halo has much better ways of getting around, you can hop in a teleporter on any spot and just zip to another area, mc in blame has to walk. Halo also has a better setup for if shit goes wrong. If something screws up you can usually push a big red button or blow it up, the city requires super specific key genes to change a lightbulb.
>>
>>52588388
Pure firepower, too. However salty the other guy acts about GBEs, as I found out earlier the Halo array is just a radiation burst weapon. So if you need a door knocked down in a hurry, GBE's your uncle.

Heck, I'd still say Blame! has an edge when it comes to drone deployment. From what I saw of the hardlight AIs in the latest game, they weren't moving anywhere near as fast as the higher level Safeguards, nor spawning as fast as a significant breach, nor were they deploying similar levels of ordinance

>>
>>52588517
Yeah, that sounds about right. Blame!'s only answer to teleportation is sorta ambiguous and seems to look like stepping into the Net Sphere, and popping out somewhere else it's connected. I'm sure HALO teleporters are more reliable than it too. But on the flip side, again-transuniversal transit.

>Please don't actually replace the Blame! jump. I like my build for it as is
The replacement jump should be offering everything the original had at a cheaper price or through alternative means. If anything it'll help your build.
>>
>>52588546
It shouldn't, and I'm saying my build doesn't need to be helped. It's a joke and you're blatantly fishing for (you)s though, so it's a moot point.

>replace the Blame jump
Mixed feelings on that idea, on the one hand a Blame jump that is digestible and isn't longer than the manga itself would be nice.

On the other hand it feels somewhat dirty.

Tremendous amounts is likely eight Mana, again if Gaunlet's whole idea of just how much a single Mana is, though as his own page notes he was only using three Mana lines to manifest so... Also it seems that Bolas was there after a huge Planeswalker fight. Even when murdered twice the Elder Dragon still lingered, diminished but still very much alive even though his body and spirit were killed.
>>
>>52588575
Too dirty for my tastes honestly, especially when there's a summarised table at the bottom of the jump that makes the perks at least clearer. Not a perfect solution, but it's something and there's worse on there-like the Berserk jump, for example
>>
>>52588535
I've been thinking on how to replace it for a while now, the only thing is choosing which perks to keep and which ones to replace. Items wise there are other things to be offered like Builder bot or silicon life armies.
>>
>>52588601
Don't go through with this. I'm going to be frank: For all the flaws in the current jump, you'd have some big damn shoes to fill, and there's elements I suspect you'd nix entirely like the scenarios. It just doesn't seem worth it when those options you mentioned are already available in roundabout ways, and as >>52588590 said there already is a fix and there's worse stuff on the drive
>>
>>52588575
Yeah the existing Blame jump has too many problems for me to use it, so I thought I might as well give it a go to make something better. I don't know what you mean by dirty though, this is one of the jumps that was offered for replacement, just seems like a good opportunity for it.
>>
>>52588630
I've never had any problems with using it. What problems do you have?
>>
>>52588627
>big damn shoes to fill
I don't really think so. There's nothing that special in the Blame jump, maybe the only thing that's special is the scenario, and I can just write a paragraph to make scenarios if people want it that badly.
>>
>>52588337
So it seems like Planeswalkers are actually better off post-mending? Mana bonds are easier and you don't have to chug mana just to physically interact with a Plane? So Neowalkers need to just git gud and find a better method of immortality than selling your soul to four different demons.
>>
>>52588394
If you are being serious the only thing that has to be included is a GBE, otherwise go nuts.
>>
>>52588657
The design of the jump is really stupid if you think about it carefully, because if you don't take the scenario then you're locked to ten years which is barely any time in Blame perspective. Aside from that, the perks aren't all that strong and just feel like things that the backgrounds should have to begin with. It feels like a tired point but just the wordiness of it is a major problem. Most of the jump can be summed up in one or two sentences but instead we get paragraphs and paragraphs.
>>
>>52588670
I like how a lot of the perks are fluffed
I like the unique atmosphere the jump intro conveys
I like the formatting, actually.
And I like the customisable item, those are rare

You on the other hand sound like you have a grossly inflated opinion of your own skills. I like the big scenarios, and the character development they present. If you feel so strongly about this why not make the jump for yourself to enjoy rather than forcing me to have fun your way?

Not everybody likes the same thing as you. Just because you like it doesn't make it good, and everything you've brought up has been problems for other people in the past. I don't think I have a grossly inflated opinion of my own skills at all. No one is forcing you to have fun in some way, you can just grandfather clause it if you want.
>>
>>52588723
This is so incorrect it hurts

>>52588724
>you're locked to ten years

I dislike you a lot, but I have no counterargument at the moment.

>the perks aren't all that strong

That's hardly accurate or a valid criticism, plenty of gotten by with less than a jumpsuit and a GBE. You can get structures that can mass produce safeguards, for crying out loud. The gal Killy protects has NONE of what's on offer.

>just feel like things that the backgrounds should have to begin with

Is it too much of a stretch to interpret them as improved forms of what they do have?

>the wordiness of it is a major problem

I like the wordiness. A casual summary wouldn't convey the setting's atmosphere. You clearly do not, but it's a dark day if that's ever a reason to remake a jump.
>>
>>52588829
Take your own damn advice, then. You're admitting you want to remake the jump purely based on personal preference, so get off that high horse

>I don't think I have a grossly inflated opinion of my own skills

Look, I'm not petty enough to demand you reveal what jumps you've made. I'm just going to point out that this is a silly statement to come right after asking someone to be unbiased in their judgements, without any evidence to back themselves up
>>
>>52588835
>I like the wordiness. A casual summary wouldn't convey the setting's atmosphere. You clearly do not, but it's a dark day if that's ever a reason to remake a jump.

I don't see it that way. Jumps should be easy to read and easy to use. This isn't that at all. A casual summary can do a good job of telling the jumper what they need to know in order to make a story. This is pretty much bringing the Blame up to our current quality standards.

Any thoughts on >>52588145 by the by? This is probably going to change up a few builds, so I want to know if the extent of the changes might seem unnecessary or not.
>>
>>52588911
I think that's a stylistic choice for the jump maker and I think that Dirge's jumps are beautiful in that way and convey a deeper sense of the setting. Then most other jumps.
>>
>>52588873
I've pointed out several objective flaws with this jump and the only thing you've said in rebuttal is that you like those flaws. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to remake the jump because I see flaws with it, and it isn't like this is without the original jumpmaker's permission, so what really is so bad about a remake?
>>
>>52588911
Well, I agree that there's a balance to be fonud between flavor and ease of use; I am taking the position that in the case of the existing Blame! jump, the pros outweigh the cons and do not justify an outright replacement based on personal preference.

I would also posit certain jumps lend themselves better to casual summaries than others. To take some non-Dirge examples, Sword & Sorcery is straightforward because it's a generic with famous derivatives, and Supernatural is straightforward because its' premise is largely formulaic. On the other hand Ar Tonelico has a lot of unique setting features that need explaining in the jump, and only the other day people were asking lots about the less detailed Ciel Nosurge

You seem more concerned with your personal quality standards than anyone else's.
>>
>>52588421

I would like an option to import a yandere companion and a Sempai origin please
>>
>>52586509

Well, who's going to complain? Their parents?
>>
>>52588835
>I like the wordiness. A casual summary wouldn't convey the setting's atmosphere.
I remember dirge lamenting his inability to be concise. Though I also remember him lamenting the fact that he's better at communicating in English than translating Chinese to English.
>>
>>52588956
That all sounds good to me, Heavens.
>>
>>52588984
I don't think these are personal quality standards at all. It's not that hard to compare Blame to the jumps that have come up recently and see the problems that the jump has. Blame is a simple setting with a straightforward story, it never needed any complex explanation.
>>
>>52588969
Out of the ones you pointed out, I only consider the one about jump duration and background relevance to be objective. The rest-perk stength and wordiness-are value judgements, not statements of fact.

Don't see anything wrong? How about the fact that you've less than nothing to justify the confidence you keep boasting of when you're treating scenarios as an afterthought? Or that as hard as it may be for you to believe, some people actually like the jump and it was generally well received when first posted here?
>>
>>52588506

Mm, though it isn't really a big deal - there are already arbitrarily large warehouse attachments.

Ultimately it's just a location. Post-spark, you can just go back to the original city.

At worst, it might do with a limit on simply pouring an endless wave of killing machines and resources out of a portal - but you can do something similar to that with SupCom.
>>
>>52589074
>arbitrarily large warehouse attachments

There are? The only one I remember is the ocean from MGS, and that one mainly got in because everyone went REEEEE about their endless source of hydrogen suddenly becoming finite

Personally I don't think the City-the whole City-should be a purchase at all, when it's the setting of the entire manga. And that opens up the possibility of buying Middle-Earth in a hypothetical LOTR jump, or Primus in a hypothetical Transformers jump insert jumper waifu joke here
>>
>>52589069
I don't want any part in this charade and I'm still convinced this is a dedicated troll, but when have scenarios not been an afterthought? They're just drawbacks with more prizes than just CP. Didn't SMT or Desu do exactly that with their drawbacks even?

(Yozi) Eternal Essence. It's in Return of the Scarlet Empress.
>>
>>52589108
Different people do them differently. Some like ASOIAF and Harry Potter have even less than that. Some of the Kamen Rider jumps and Disgaea's Netherrealm DLC have more elaborate story-like sets of events. I personally prefer the latter, and the anon I'm hoping IS a dedicated troll apparently doesn't
>>
>>52589134
If Babylon hadn't coined the term scenario and made Light of Terra jumpmakers probably would have just kept sliding them into drawbacks, so I don't really see much of a difference between them. Most jumpmakers that are known for fluff already have drawbacks that read like scenarios to begin with.
>>
>>52589185
The way I look at it, a drawback is always written as some kind of obstacle. A scenario tends to be more beneficial, and comprise a more complex sequence events-usually with a specific endgoal rather than "avoid being killed by X"
>>
>>52589133

>>
>>52590363
Personally, I seriously doubt either
A) a replacement jump will be made
Or
B) It'll be any good even if it is made.

The jump that exists is fine, despite this wierd dislike some people have for it being long and not meeting their subjective arbitrary standards. Seriously, that's their only issue with it, that's they want it shorter and to meet *their* preferences.

In any case there is better uses for that creative energy than a rehashing or mutiliation of an already filled jump.

I have a suspicion, based on what i've seen in posts ealier in this thread, that the guy who is claiming to remake it is an arrogant gasbag. The quality of anything someone like that makes is more than a bit questionable to me.

Maybe I'm being unfair and maybe I'll be proved wrong, but I'll not hold my breath and keep using Dirge's Blame! jump until then and probably after in any case.
>>
>>52590506

I got this perk from dungeon seige that makes the plot happen as normal, and another perk from hero bbs that makes things butterfly and escalate along with a bunch of anti fate perks. It also helps if you can scry the area and open portals so people just happen to walk into your bar when they dont mean too.
>>
>>52590558
It's balanced within the setting since everyone is pretty strong. Besides, there's only eight companion slots by default. There's nothing stopping a person from making a companion using other means, so why lock it behind high CP costs?

>>52590587

>>
>>52590565
I think from their perspective you're the one who has subjective arbitrary standards. If you consider their gripes after removing most of the emphasis they aren't really wrong. A short and sweet jump that makes things easy to access has many advantages over a long jump where the jump itself is already a hurdle to overcome. So you could say that Dirge dug his own grave when he decided to make things unnecessarily long winded and complex. If this anon just likes Blame and wants to see a better jump it's not likely that creative energy will be helpful anywhere else.

Someone needs to fix that.

>>52590670
>Dirge can make some great work.
I don't think so. All of his jumps suffer from the same problem, they're all full of head canon and they're excessively OC. People accepted it back then because there was no other choice, not like somebody else was going to make a jump out of the things he's done, but if an anon showed up with replacements for FFs that had all of those flaws fixed I'd be all for replacing them. Maybe if the Blame remake goes well we'll start seeing other jumpmakers pitch in.

Blame is arguably one of his best considering how much worse the others are. At least it doesn't take several days and migraines just to read through and make sense of. In the time it takes to do one of his jumps I can do several other jumpmakers jumps, that's just fucking stupid.

It really didn't help that his self-deprecation was bad enough that any critique felt like kicking him when he was down. It's hard to give criticism with someone like that.

His jumps are all long winded and read like a technical document. The fluff and mechanics aren't very clear at all, and a lot of his perklines are weird gimmicky abilities which don't really come together to make a coherent representation of something in canon.

Just reading the jump doesn't give you a feel for canon at all, not helped in the least by his weird OC "Research Team" that he used as the introduction for most of them. He even shoved them into the fluff of perks in many places.

It's just not good writing in the least, even if I do like a good portion of his jumps and some of the stuff in them. They got some big flaws.

From what I understand the author left a lot up to interpretation, but to make a jump, don't you have to fill in some of those gaps.

I seriously doubt any new jump can avoid that either, and if they somehow manage it will be at a cost.

Me personally, I would not have a problem with a smallish jump to complement the big one, but replacing the big one just because you feel it's too long just seems like wanking to me. It's the replacement and arrogance that they can do a better job before showing anything like evidence that rubs me up the wrong way.

You can't give him any criticism because he never listened to anyone. He's too much of a narcissist to pay attention to anyone else, so it's pointless to even comment on his jumps. Goes hand in hand with how condescending and prejudiced he is against everyone.

Other people have pointed out how imbalanced his jumps are, and not a single one of his jumps is exempt from this problem. Either the perks are stupidly overpriced or they're all utterly useless except in niche situations.

I think it's been said before but none of his jumps ever feel like jumpchain at all, they feel like a really bad fanfiction from a grade schooler who just got introduced to anime. The language that he uses is painfully bland but so wordy that you just end up glazing over all of it, and that's the only reason he gets away with anything. I've never seen a good example of writing from him, and honestly he ruined the idea of scenarios completely for me. I get that we can't just delete the jumps outright, but honestly all he's done is take up space that another jumpmaker would have been able to do better at. If he hadn't made a shitty Blame jump we wouldn't have people giving anon grief over making one.

Problem with that is you need someone who captures the seriousness alongside the whimsical. Which Gintama is really famous for. Without that, the entire jump would be dry and not capture the spirit of the setting.

Godzilla or fuck generic Kaiju Jump would be awesome. Especially Shin Godzilla being a weirdo, it fires lasers from its dorsal plates. Its tail is evolving into another being, and in the end it's evolving into humanoid figures.

Also you have Toho-Universal Kaijuverse heating up. There's theories from Skull Island's after credit scenes where they show the various Toho Kaijus, like Mothra, Godzilla, King Gihira. Also the theory that there's two Godzillas, one that was activated by nuclear explosions during WWII. The other which has been around when man was young. Seeing how they painted a battle between King Gihira & Godzilla.

Perhaps but Dirge did a bit too much filling in of gaps, there is for example no evidence for having the GBE drain power from the user at higher settings. Sure killy is out of commission for a while after his full power shot but that probably had more to do with the fact that the recoil left him in a fucking crater.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this, I re read it recently but I could be forgetting something.
>>
>>52590892
>I seriously doubt any new jump can avoid that either, and if they somehow manage it will be at a cost.
It's not that bad, you just explain things directly. Like for the GBE it'll just be:
Graviton Beam Emitter 100 CP free for safeguard
A hand held weapon capable of firing a seventy kilometer long beam that can disintegrate matter of any density in its path.

Sweet and simple.

I have zero plans for this, apart from taking down the aliens, and literally purging the elites. I'll do this by making the two equal, and implying satanism. Beginning in Russia, (for the revolutionary irony/tradition as well as the ability to take down the consolidated power) form a populist movement to take down the jews (Marxist elites) and their allies (aliens) with the satanism being a purely movement-fed ideology. Take over. Spread movement to eastern Europe and the remainder of asia. Ally with Japan. Encourage a restart of their imperialism and expansionism throughout Asia. The jews fear the samurai.

Ethnic cleansing ahoy.

Continue to spread throughout Europe. Eliminate any nuclear option for America. We're going full space-nazi here. nukes are nothing but rocks if they're not armed. Then it becomes a stand of Eastern vs. Western hemispheres. At this point, there are undoubtedly strong nations in south and latin America. Constant warfare. Then eliminate anyone alien or elite/jew genes with magitech nukes via u-2-like nuclear bombers. Gone in one night. From there, weaken them from inside via grassroots movements. If they're not full fascism by then, I'll genuinely be surprised.

At this point, the majority of the world is united under a single- (cont)

>Sure killy is out of commission for a while after his full power shot but that probably had more to do with the fact that the recoil left him in a fucking crater.
This wouldn't make sense, because Killy's body is proven to be durable enough to withstand forces even greater than just the recoil and impact. I think it's just a way to set a power source that isn't just the gun itself, since there's no indication that the gun has a portable gravity furnace.
>>
>>52590961
Dude, Shin Godzilla's even weirder then that. Like, chunks blasted off of it become mini-Godzillas themselves. Hell, if I remember right, at one point it tries to grow wings. Shin Godzilla's the lovechild of Cell, SCP-682, and normal Godzilla.

Also, I think it's the same Godzilla. It probably surfaced to fight King Ghidorah just like it did when the M.U.T.O.s returned, due to the whole "protecting the balance of nature" thing.
>>
>>52591055
The setting doesn't have that many items to begin with. Safeguard Swords, GBE, The City, giant Robots, armies, gravity furnace. That's about all the important items there are. If the GBE is the main item in the setting it should be accessible.

>>1. Give Angelroids a proper perk tree, and change their current perks into a subsection.

Nice though perhaps have a simplified tree would be a bit better since their CP purchases would be split between the tree and their subsection/powers.

>>2. Include an option/booster that makes you akin to Ikaros or Chaos. Probably an expensive subsection item

Perhaps have it as the capstone for the Angel Perk tree you'll make?

>>3. Remove the weird caps on Pandora, but balance it a bit so it's not just a spontaneous altform generator for MK1. MK2 will work the same way it does it canon.

Okay then, why did you cap it in the first place is the Pandora power ridiculously OP?

>>4. Expand the perk trees for civilians, since they're a bit random and lacking in themes. Considering a 1/1/2/2/4/4/6/6 format, though I might not bother adding another capstone.

I'll be honest, I always considered the Civilian tree to be the tacked on option of the jump. If a Jumper wanted to go the whole human with Angelroids then they would go Drop-In, and if they wanted the sweet tech then they would go Synapse Resident or Angelroid origins. I would recommend scrapping that origin and placing the perks in the new Angelroid tree or creating a Perk section. But if your intent on keeping the Civilian origin I would recommend adding some luck, survival, and plot armor perks to help spice the perk tree up.

>>5. Synapse Residents will get more tech options.

Nice.

>>6. Cheaper canon companion options with less conditions attached. I went a bit ham on the mandatory drawbacks on things that would otherwise be a given.

Cheaper companion options are always appreciated. If your going to replace the mandatory drawbacks then you should add some flavor text like hanging around this person might draw the negative attention of this group (Synapse).

Perhaps a "You are Tomoki" drawback for Drop Ins and Civilians, so as to not destroy the plot wit canon companion or cuck Tomoki.

I'd give him props if he actually made any sort of innovation, but he didn't. His distinct style is a copy of Red and Babylon's style, and he didn't really do anything except come off as trying to be a special snowflake and shill his jumps. The worst part is that his jumps go against the idea of jumpchain and forces narratives on people which it shouldn't. If he wasn't so stuck up and used a google docs to make his jumps so that everyone else could pitch in, there'd be plenty of people pushing to delete all of the useless fluff that you call his distinct style.

Yeah man Shin Godzilla was like this ever evolving monster. It decided that it can't survive in the water, it grew legs, then when it began to overheat, it grew cooling fins, then it evolved into a more classical Godzilla. When hit by missiles it develops laser breath, when that wasn't enough it had laser beams from its fins, and later his tail.

It still wasn't finished evolving because they "killed" it before it could evolve another Godzilla or something. Not to mention the weird humanoids coming off of its tail.

I'd like to see if Shin Godzilla was really trying to kill off all humans or maybe replace them. By the end, maybe humans are godzillas?

>>52590975
So, what? Would you have the gun to end all guns have no-limits or cost to using it. And if you do, then what other form of cost or limit or ammunition?
Also, it sounds like a perfectly valid interpretation of what happened, just as your interpretation sounds reasonable as well, shy of the author saying one way or another, both are equally valid and reasonable suppositions.

It's been a while since I read it so i am really not sure if you're factually correct or not, i'm assuming that you are for the sake of the argument

>>
>>52591165
>Okay then, why did you cap it in the first place is the Pandora power ridiculously OP?

Long story short, I was afraid of my jump being unbalanced by its inclusion since Pandora is both a perpetual self-upgrade and evolution device, and lets you eat things to gain power and extra capabilities. This was my first jump and back when I had inter-jump balance on the mind, which is something I've learned is effectively futile around the time I made Disgaea. I still want to keep my jumps internally balanced, though.

>Nice though perhaps have a simplified tree would be a bit better since their CP purchases would be split between the tree and their subsection/powers.

It's gonna be a simple 1/2/4/6 tree while the Angelroid modules get their own point currency with CP conversions.

>Perhaps have it as the capstone for the Angel Perk tree you'll make?
Not a bad idea, but I'll give it some more thought when I get to it.

>I'll be honest, I always considered the Civilian tree to be the tacked on option of the jump. When I said Civilian tree, I was referring to both Drop-In and Student. But, yeah, they're a bit lacking so I'm going to give them both some more character and some oompf. I think non-Angelroid backgrounds might just get free/cheap Angelroids, though I'll need to give it some thought after I'm done reworking perks.

Gintama is basically the story of how aliens conquered Earth during Japan's Feudal era. Its a now quasi-Meji Era Shonen show with aliens and lasers. Also has a huge cast of characters, a hugly successful anime, and the fact there is no 4th wall, makes it a very fun series.

Agreed. Some amount of that is inevitable, even desireable.

And while you can have too much of a good thing, that point is subjective, differing between people. Those who feel it is going too far, i would just ask that they recognise that just because it is going too far *for them* doesn't make it objectively bad, or mean that others can't enjoy it.

I personally like the fluff and length, it's adds the complexity I need for immersion, but I can understand that others find it excessive or even detracting from their experience of the jump. But that's just people being different from one another, just life.

part of the game is having Difficult choices to make ,Making one of the better guns in the entirety of jumpchain available for 100 points Pretty much makes it mandatory since only an idiot would not take it, also there is the matter of it undercutting the original jump which is considered poor form at best and More likely to be interpreted as directly disrespectful to the previous jumpmaker.
>>
>>52590961
Not its dorsal plates, the sores on its back. Anywhere that Shin Godzilla's body has an opening, it can shoot beams from. That's why it has a tail beam, the weird tumor/mouth on the end of it counts.
>>
>>52591457
You might have a point in terms of making choices but talking about being disrespectful to the previous jumpmaker and undercutting the original jump is just bullshit when the previous jumpmaker was famous for being disrespectful to everyone around him. It'd just be karma if anything. I'd support a lower price just for that actually.
>>
>>52591374
Well, Anno did direct it, so...
>>
>>52590961
>Problem with that is you need someone who captures the seriousness alongside the whimsical. Which Gintama is really famous for. Without that, the entire jump would be dry and not capture the spirit of the setting.

It's not like even a fifth of the jumps manage to capture the spirit of their settings.
>>
>>52591349
>and the fact there is no 4th wall

Well, now I know that you haven't either read the manga nor watched the anime.
>>
>>52591485
>> I'd support a lower price just for that actually.
And, thus, you prove you're the wrong person to be making any decisions about the Jump. You're supposed to be doing the setting justice, properly representing the power and rarity of things inside of it, and offering significant choices from them.
>>
>>52591505
Perhaps, but it'd just be criminal in the case of Gintama. Unlike other series, the story telling is 100% the forefront most important part of the series.
>>

Isn't Isidoros not malevolent but is so power and oblivious to others that he's like a perpetual natural disaster with the attention span of a fourth grader?

Looking up upon the stars,
where various sagas are shining
Just like the constellations,
only by connecting them with lines,
does a Legend begin

Can’t Catch Me [100 - Free for Thief] - Odds are, you weren’t the lawful sort in your youth, because you’ve learned to be quick on your feet and just as slippery. You’re an expert at parkour and freerunning, and have the dexterity necessary to do that. Your agility receives a similar boost, making you much harder to catch in combat and much more deadly with small weapons like knives.

Eyes of the Hawk [200 - Discount for Thief] - Nothing can escape your eyes - no foe, no treasure, nothing! Your physical senses are much sharper, letting you see the distant horizon much more clearly, rain or shine. Your nose is sharp enough to pick up the smell of blood from a mile or more away, your ears able to eavesdrop on conversations a similar distance from you, and so forth. As a consequence, your ability to be accurate with ranged attacks is increased as well.
>>
>>52591522
If the original jump was supposed to do the setting justice, it wouldn't have a bullshit OC scenario, multiple OC items, and a bunch of perks that don't even reflect the main characters. So anything is an improvement here.

>>52590746
Aion has something for that.
>>
>>52591430
True but there should be a good offering of items, there is a bunch of cool stuff in Blame.

There are the many smaller guns.
Tech samples, blueprints.
Conversion Towers
Mind transfer devices
Survival supplies, which are important in setting
Supply caches like what Killy used to re supply/arm himself a few times.
A shield that deflects GBE beams such as those used by the safeguard and the Capitol
GBEs of course
Safeguard Swords
Clone tanks
Silicon creature production equipment
Builders
that device that can stop individual builders

Offering the City in the jump seems like it would be a bit much anon.
>>
>>52591617
The anon is replacing the jump either because he feels he can make a better one, or because he wants his jump on the drive. I'm not sure how any of that is contrarian or being a prick. Also this is the first time I've seen someone willing to replace the Blame jump so you should probably just chill out.
>>
>>52591675
>hey guys Im remaking blame
>gonna give gbe thats worded so it can destroy anything for 100 cp
>giving the entire city for 400 cp
>not being a contrarian prick
Sure thing buddy. Pull the other it has bells on.
>>
>>52591675
I really don't understand this, have I missed something? I thought we had a policy here of not replacing jumps without jumpmaker permission. Has that changed? Or has Dirge given permission?
>>
>>52591675
We've heard of people wanting to replace jumps all the time. We've had people claiming they've wanted to replace Bayonetta for years now, and it never happens. I don't buy it for a second.
>>
>>52591671
a lot of those can just be grabbed in setting, so there isn't any reason to make them cost CP, and again I said it already but items are supposed to be cheap if you want an expensive item that you can't easily get in the setting it will be the City

I could just copy the items from the existing jump and make them cheaper but then people will yell and a lot of those items don't make any sense anyways.
>>
>>52591702
He has not. But that guy really wants to replace it and he is willing to give out super powerful weapons and items for dirt cheap so he is going to get the ok.
>>
>>52591702
Dirge gave blanket permission for other people to make new jumps for all of his a long time ago.
>>
>>52591702
All of Dirge's jumps are up for replacement, permission was given several months back. Or if you ask some other anons, Dirge has no rights as a jumpmaker here anymore so it anyone can replace his jumps without asking for permission. It's one or the other depending on who you ask.
>>
>>52591711
Offering the best things in the setting for peanuts feels like a powergrab.
>>
>>52591702
Who cares? The only people who don't want to see it replaced are the irc nerf whores. That is why I want to get it redone, just to fuck with red.
>>
>>52591760
if people want the GBE very badly they will find ways to get it either way so I think this isn't a powergrab at all it just makes things more convenient
>>
>>52591760
It is a powergrab, that is all any of this is. Remaking a jump so anyone can buy anything for peanuts.
>>
>>52591612
>>52591587
Would it be possible to convince him and Szoroney to go somewhere else other than Creation with less shit to fuck up.
>>
>>52591785
So your reason is "Just because someone can jump through hoops for something I should offer it for next to nothing"

Screw you, with that atitude you may as well just give everything for free.
>>
>>52591785
Not really, a GBE is rare as fuck. Unless you buy one you probably won't get one. Also CP insurance is important for many people.

I have sort of lost interest in this due to the powergrabbing.
>>
>>52591711
I disagree. GBEs are difficult to obtain in-jump. You should have to pay a premium to get one without any effort. That's how a lot of jumps handle things that are obtainable in the setting but difficult to attain. For example, any perk that grants you incredible skill at magic instead of you just gaining access to magic and having to train it yourself.
>>
>>52591812
but it's not for free. 100 CP is a tenth of your CP which is already a good chunk. if you're that angry about it I can make it 200 CP with a discount for safeguards but I still don't see anything wrong with giving people cheaper things

>>52591819
jumpers will find ways to get things no matter how rare it is, and CP insurance can be gotten through other jumps too

>>52591548
Go through the dimensions flickering like auroras
And dive into that straying Parallel world

On the road, everyone is in the midst of a journey
In order to encounter their true selves

Like A Shadow [400 - Discount for Thief] - Why. Won’t. You. Hold. Still?! This ability’s effect is twofold - first, you are really good at stealth. Enough that you could find a way to hide in broad daylight after being spotted the first time (camouflage helps). This isn’t a perfect skill, but you’re quick and clever enough to duck in and out of sight that you could hit the unwary with a surprise attack not once, not twice, but several times. Second, you’re much better at avoiding incoming damage, having a second sense of where and when to dodge. Likewise, this isn’t infallible - things that are just flat-out too fast for your reflexes or mind will likely still strike true. Still, this will teach a few foolish enemies that the lightly-armored Thief isn’t quite easy pickings, right?
>>
>>52591879
I refuse to consider Hamtaro.
>>
>>52591876

Let’s keep on walking for now, for We’re all travelers
Everything’s spreading out right in front of my eyes
Just when will the 9 paths ever overlap
The road will probably change
to continue into a new dawn
Bear witness to it, Journey through the Decade

Looking For This? [600 - Discount for Thief] - You’re not a Thief, really. Just a treasure hunter!...pffft, who says things like that? You have a serious nose for wealth and those who have plenty, able to spot some worthwhile targets with just a cursory glance of a city-sized location, along with an idea of how much you stand to gain from ‘borrowing’ said wealth or items from them. Items of power? Loadsmone? A collector’s edition copy of Final Fantasy? If it’s what you’re looking for, you’ll sense it.

But your real power is in the ability to Steal items. You’re a skilled enough Thief you can steal from someone just by brushing against them for a brief second, taking an item from them regardless of how well-embedded it is on their person. Heavy suit of armor? Yoink! Magical weapon of legend? Yoink! A pocket universe?...erm, have fun carrying that if it unfolds in your hand. But you can take anything from someone’s person with a well-timed swipe, so long as you can survive close contact. Even better, those with weaker wills than you won’t even notice the item in question had been stolen until they attempt to use it themselves...and they’ll have to explain why they attended an important meeting without pants. Note that ‘important’ or incredibly dangerous foes will require more than one try or a long battle before you can take their stuff.
>>
>>52591915
because otherwise I probably wouldn't have an items section at all lol

Jumps shouldn't be designed around other Jumps, only the setting they're being made for should be considered when going into design or pricing. What's possible for someone who's taken X number of Jumps doesn't matter when pricing a perk or item.
>>
>>52591990
Okay, what about perks? What 100CP perks are there?
>>
>>52591785
There were only two GBEs shown that a jumper could realistically take for themselves, Killy's handgun and Sanakan's longer handgun she used while protecting Cibo. Others are built into Safeguards so it would be extremely difficult to take one.

>>52591876
>I still don't see anything wrong with giving people cheaper things
There are a few things; first it removes the weight of decision making, second it takes away from the weight of the item (makes it feel less awesome/special), and third for many people it would just feel wrong to get something so amazing so cheaply especially when it is so powerful/rare in the context of the setting.

I think 200 is still too cheap unless that is after a discount.

>>52591929
Fist of all special safeguards who have such weapons are really rare, second even if you could find a way to use one's severed arm as a weapon it would be far more unwieldy than Killy or Sanakan's GBEs that were designed for people to use.
>>
>>52592006
I agree with you and I agree that they're 'rare' in-setting.

Rare meaning that there are trillions (probably more) of them, but the setting is literally a solar system sized city.
>>
>>52592014
The ability to build structures like the city.

>>
>>52591929
Are you really arguing that it's not hard to get incredible destructive power because you just need to kill lots of things with incredible destructive power? You don't see how that could be difficult to do? I mean, if you want to fight a bunch of things equipped with GBEs, fine, but if you're at the point in your chain where that's "easy" I think your priorities are skewed.
>>
>>52592037
This is the first time I've entered this conversation. I don't have any real stake in this, I'm just saying meta/interjump balance shouldn't be a thing or considered, especially with the massive scale between different settings and the number of Jumps we have.

Not even close. Destiny as Creation normally knows it is very flexible. People can and do defy Destiny, and most people aren't very effected by it. Their Destiny is a minor thing, with little effect on their lives most of the time.

Saceverell would make one perfect unchanging Destiny for everyone and everything, and everything would happen as he sees it down to the millisecond.

Uh... Think you misread the question. It was which would be the LEAST harmful to free?
>>
>>52592216
You just figured that out?
>>
>>52592152
No. The Loom of Destiny in Exalted is really just causality. The Sidereals enforce the laws that say that causes precede effects in logical fashion. They don't command all reality into having a fixed pattern, the most they can do is make things more or less likely to happen. Free will and self-determination still exists, it is always possible to go against your fate.

Sacheverell, on the other hand, collapses the wave function. What he sees of the future is what the future is. There is no struggling against it, because he has not forseen you struggling against it and so that will not happen. There is no possibility, no probability, only perfect quantum certainty.

>>52592260

Fists of Iron [100 - Free for Black Belt] - You have trained hard to get to where you are, and you need no puny weapon or nerdy spellbook to fight! You’re a master of three mundane martial arts styles of your choosing, and your fists and feet are strong enough to substitute for strong steel or a powerful shield. This won’t mean much against magical weapons or things of greater power, but you won’t have much to fear from the average thugs with swords and knives from this point on.

Feet of Air [200 - Discount for Black Belt] - Quick, nimble, and deadly as the wind. That’s what you’ve become. Your movements are incredibly quick and swift, able to move faster than the untrained eye can follow. In addition to being a bit faster, you’re able to leap great distances and run along flat surfaces as though you were the wind itself, your body much lighter for the purposes of jumps and acrobatics.

Question, have you read Blame?

Yes there is quite a bit of high power things in the setting but they are ludicrously rare, they only show up a lot in the manga because it follows someone who has one of those things.

Sure most people are stronger than baseline humans but not by all that much. The stuff being offered for 100 CP is among the best things that you would expect to see in the jump.

The fact that you are offering one of the most powerful weapons in the setting for 100/Free screams power grab extremely loudly.

Exalted:Infernals- I will try to be as accurate as possible in his drawbacks/perks. Obviously he isn't here for just 10 years, this is trying to keep track of his deeds.
0/2100
Caste:Slayer(Malfias)
Favored:SWLiHN
Noble-He is a King
Free Infernal Governance
Discount Peer of Hell
Cult Leader- He converted his people to Yozi worship, it's a DAMN fine start.
Warrior's Mettle
Discount The King Is Here
Free Beautiful and Terrible
The Inner World- Not gonna lie, the following perks are not normal for him, since he plays by the normal game rules, but I love them too much to ignore, sorry.
Descending Hierarchy
Heart and Soul
Aegis of the Overlord- This is pretty close to the Artifact Armor I planned on having him craft, though that's made out of his personal MM "Black Steel"
Free Unwoven Coadjutor- Almathein Noybi(ST made first-circles, like like LotR Orcs) Citizen
Coven- Sweet Silence of the Howling Hurricane(Scourge, favors Kimbery, god damn insane and creepy as fuck)

Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain+100- He's pretty hammy.
Omen Weather+100- Not yet, but he's pretty close to causing this.
A Hellish Rival+200- Fucking Fiends.
Demon Hunters+200- He did kinda convert a nation to Yozi Worship, burn down a City-state and leave behind Yozi statues, and Shape the land and make two new gods because of it.
Return of the Inferal Jumper+300- This is stretching it, really stretching it, but it fits the story I want for him
Guard Duty+300- As does this.

It's a matter of inference and background understanding from Noise where they introduced the recognition principle between safeguards. When Killy reactivates his protocols sometime during the toa arc Sanakan immediately recognizes him as an irregularity. It's sometime after that when he gets contacted by the GA and it happens several times actually. Sanakan is his foil because she gets recruited directly by the GA whereas Killy is given some form of autonomy for no explained reason.

Nah. Sacheverell tells you what you will do, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Fate makes sure the world works. Without it, a traveller could come to fork in the road, and take both paths at once. Or fall upwards into the sky. Or a woodcutter could try to cut down a tree, and it would keep standing no matter how much he hacks into it, Minecraft-style.

Sure, Sidereals can fuck with probability a bit, but Fate is mostly just causality and making sure the world doesn't collapse into chaos.
>>

i honestly don't see anything wrong with that. I'm sorry were going to have to Agree to disagree here
>>
>>52592434
His jumps weren't anything special to begin with, but back then people ignored how much of a jackass he was, so they'd give his jumps the same attention that they'd give any prolific jumpmaker. Now that people have wised up there's not really any reason to keep up the pretense, and more people can acknowledge how flawed the jumps are.
>>
>>52592435
Are you the sort of person that changes their builds dependent upon what other people have chosen? Because honestly seeing all these people pick Szoreny is making me want to pick another Favoured Yozi, even though Szoreny fits my Jumper fairly well.
>>
>>52592308
Okay, the first one is something I know you're stupid about and don't get, but I'll say it again: Causality is good. It allows people to do things without random chaos happening, because they can make logical inference about the effects of their actions. No causality means that, for example, when you go to buy fruit you pay abysmally feed toes southwards. Did that sentence make sense? Of course it fucking didn't. That's what a world without causality looks like.

The second one is something that everyone tries to do. Literally everyone who exists try to steer the path of the future. You do, that's your favorite thing. You just jump into a world and start wrecking shit until it looks like a world you'd prefer. At least the Sidereals are subtle about it, and leave an out for people who don't want to go along with their plans.

Finally, a matter of degree matters immensely. Like I said, the Sidereals can only loosely guide the path of reality, and the bigger a change they make the more it bites them in the ass. Sacheverell just locks everything everywhere forever down into one path. If the Sidereals are pruning a bush into a certain shape, Sacheverell is cutting off all but one branch.

>>52592500
If it makes you feel better, I'm starting to feel the same. But this kind of thing is starting to push me away from the idea.
>>
>>52592528
You forget the fact that we don't fucking want reality to be the Wyld, and we don't want to be Raksha.
>>
>>52592498
That's because you're thinking of it as something that people would control. Of them deciding to take both paths at once, or fall into the sky, or chop down a tree but it stays standing. That's now how it works, it's a chaotic and random process. They'd have no say in the events of their lives. Is that the universe you want, one of ultimate futility where you can never be certain anything you do will have the effect you want? A world of chaos is just as oppressive as a world of perfect order. It's that in-between, of bounded chaos, where self-determination is possible.
>>
>>52592520
You might as well just toss your hat into the pool and make your own to replace the existing one.

>>52592518
I don't think it's spite at all. The people who have pointed out flaws about his jumps have a very good point, and even ignoring his shortcomings as a person, you can't deny that he can't write jumps to save his life. He's just writing fanfiction of fanfiction. It doesn't help that he's too stuck up to learn from better jumpmakers like the IRC, to the point that he ran away to SB instead.
>>
>>52592453
So... it's just because it makes sense to you that he is unique. No actual evidence to support the notion that he is unique.

Do I really need to point out that this is:
>Except the setting itself says Killy is unique,
is wrong?

Everything else that you've mentioned could just as easily be evidence that Killy is simply the most remarkable, or the one who gets into the most trouble, of multiple Killys.
>>
>>52592498
...Right.

>>52592514
I thought he at least understood that no one having any control over anything or even themselves would be a bad thing.

Like, it wouldn't even be Raksha in the Wyld. They'd just go insane and mutate.

>>52592528
Raksha aren't people. They don't have emotions or anything resembling a sane mind. They're just hungry clouds of ideas and story that pretend to be people.

You should not make people into anything like them.
>>
>>52592500
If it makes you feel better, I don't really see the appeal in the Silver Forest.

I usually go for Kimbery in order to mutate people into being Essence users ezpz or Hegra/Isidoros/Metagaos/Elloge for their Manses.

Current chain I likely won't have the CP to even buy any Yozi Perks/Items, so I'm thinking of going Ebon Dragon/Malfeas or Malfeas/Ebon Dragon because I like their Charms and mixing the nuclear hatred and black brass of Malfeas with the infinite shadows and lies of TED fits my intended Devil-Tiger aesthetic very well.

>wanting a more consensual reality
What you fail to realize is that modern science is showing our CURRENT reality is consensual(at least to an extent). Just because you don't agree with the consensus doesn't mean you have the right to tear it apart.

>people don't know what they really want
Those are the words that EVERY tyrant in human history has used.
>>
>>52592623
Eh, not really interested in that, although others may like that.
I'm just pointing out that even something as fundamental as whether or not our MC is unique or part of a series or group of similiar beings is legitimately unknown.
You could make decent arguments either way, but the sheer derth of evidence or dialogue means that in the end, you have to make a decision on which interpretation or persepctive you want to use for the setting, not just on that specific point but on a lot of others things that were left vague and never clarified.
As much as Dirge may be criticised for it, I personally see it as inevitable and part of the problem of making a jump of a setting this ambiguous.
If you are one of the guys looking to remake Blame!, please bear this in mind. Otherwise, good luck, you'll need it.
>>
>>52592645

>forgive me for wanting a more consensual reality
But by the very nature of your plan you're ignoring consent. You don't care what people think, say or feel. You're just projecting your own feelings on everyone else and forcing them to accept them.

>people don't know what they really want
It's pretty presumptuous of you to assume you know what other people want, and bad of you to force what you think people want on them.

Journal Entry # 36 – 1

You know a big part of being a jumper is pretending you know what you are doing and not freaking out when it looks like everything is going to hell around you…

I must be very good at this because I find myself being made the leader of a small caravan of humans here at the apparent end of the world. The sun has stopped moving, it hangs up there lifelessly in the sky. An ancient army of omnicidal stone men have awaken and are slaughtering everyone in their path and off in the distance we saw what I can only presume is the Midgard Serpent breaking apart a mountain chain.

Also we have just been turned away from the people we went to for protection and it seems they are prepping for a last stand of their own.

I have the people with me convinced I have a plan, really my plan is not to die and wait for an opportunity to present itself to fix things. I am sure the people with me wouldn’t appreciate it if they found out that was my plan.

(to be continued)

Journal Entry # 36 – 3

Thank goodness for Sans and Snowflame. It’s funny really but the biggest challenge we are facing right now is one of morale. Those two seem to be great at lightening the mood. I have been doing a fair bit myself with my songs but even I have needed a good laugh.

We are going to need them, we are headed to Sigirholm. It’s a big port city… which means it’s probably jam packed with refugees with similar plans to us if it hasn’t been raised already been raised. I am not expecting to find much but right now I am trying to keep people busy and hopeful while I try and figure things out. I know I am a horrible person for doing this but it’s for a good cause.

Anyways the way I see it I need to find out what the stone men are and how to stop them, a way to lay the Midgard Serpent back to rest and a way to fix the planet so it begins to rotate around the sun again. The first I am sure we can do, the second is probably also well within our capabilities… the thirds is out and out impossible and renders the first two kind of meaningless. Again for now the best I can do is take care of the first two and hope an opportunity presents itself for the third.

Journal Entry # 36 - 13

We fought our way through another army of Dredge… We are becoming known as legendary heroes for our small group seeming to be able to put down armies of these monsters without any losses. This has been a hard treck unfortunately we are almost to Sigirholm and I really don’t have much of a plan at this point. Our Caravan has swollen to quite a formidable number at this point However it’s mainly because my companions and I have been protecting them.

(to be continued)

No. She acts as an agent of the GA but she's decisively weaker. There's no real explanation for how she transferred over to the GA branch but the end dialogue confirms she has a limited amount of lives rather than Killy's sort of effective immortality. It's implied that agents of the GA spend most of their time in the netsphere waiting for deployment instead of roaming the City.

Journal Entry # 36 – 34

Well today we felled an immortal Demigod Dredge named Bellower. Akitsu really took him down single handedly she froze him in a bock of ice then used a spell I wasn’t aware she had developed… Ice to Steel. Immortal or not he is getting out of there.

Journal Entry # 36 - 58

So… we managed to talk to Serpant who is not Jormungandr… which is good, no instead it is a beast fated to destroy humanity during the final days… not so good. I convinced it to hold off on the whole destroying humanity thing if I could probe that it wasn’t the end of days. All I have to do now is stop the Dredge, and get the planet to start rotating around the sun again and we are clear… So all I have to do is the impossible and everything will be alright.

Journal Entry # 36 – 73

Ok So we have finally stopped the Dredge and I think I am close to figuring out the cause of the Sun freezing in the sky… I am working on Ideas to get it started again… this is going to take a while.

Heart of Dragon [400 - Discount for Black Belt] - Discipline your mind! Fear and doubt are merely poisons of the mind, ones you’ve gained a considerable immunity towards. After a moment’s concentration, you may enter a stoic state of ‘emptiness’, letting you focus on a singular task after calming all emotion, greatly increasing your competence at said task. This also has the benefit of letting you completely shut out illusions or attempts to control your mind, making you impossible to sway until you see fit to leave this state of mind.

Soul of Warrior [600 - Discount for Black Belt] - It really is all in the mind, isn’t it? The strength of your fists and your body have been greatly increased. This isn’t a mere boost of the muscle or an increase of power - your very soul is what adds impact to your blows, letting you shatter stone or kick down a castle gate after a few, solid hits. In addition to being much stronger, you will find that your physical capabilities increase with your own willpower, or things that represent the might of your soul. Perhaps with enough time and drive, you could make even Chaos stumble or break under your knuckles...though that time may be a ways off. The only way to improve is to both train your body and your own will...are you up to the challenge?

>isn't that what a mind is? that's how I've always imagined other folks Working, or at least the model I've been using o think of minds.
No. And if you think so, then you're either very, very mistaken. Or I did not explain it clearly enough.

Raksha do not have emotions. They do not care about anything at all. The only thing they "want" is to feed, otherwise they're purposeless and nameless. They can't understand that things they see are people, instead of constructs of their own dream.

At best, they can pretend to they are people.

And they're usually not great at pretending to be sane either. Like, a Raksha would "happily" allow itself to be tortured, if it added dramatic tension to the story, for example.
>>
>>52592860
Standard companion options, mostly. Those who opt to be Warriors of Light get three companions for free, the rest are bought.

(Well not only do I know nothing about the setting, I really didn’t feel like taking any drawbacks to make a hell hole even worse also since my jumper is not the kill them all type… so she wasn’t going to get our of there.)

Journal Entry # 37 – wrap up

Well I didn’t get to write a journal There so I am writing this after the fact. I wound up just fighting my way through some temporal hell hole for … I don’t know how long. Ok, most of the time was just spent in a holy barrier. I tried numerus times to fix things but it was a time loop and I had nothing to work with so it didn’t turn out well. I don’t think I would have died even if I had been killed but I refused to die. None of my companions seemed to have any power here so I chose not to risk their lives. Especially after seeing what happened to those who died.

In the end it was 10 years in near total isolation fighting horrible things. It wasn’t a pleasant jump and It was one I hope not to remember.

It shouldn't be unreasonable to get enough material from non-recurring characters to do more than one. If that turns out to be untenable, an option of which setting to actually go to could work.
>>
To clarify - I am NOT claiming Yandere Simulator.
>>
>>52592928
Mmmmm, well, if there's nothing to reeeeally distinguish one from the next perk or item-wise, it sounds like your best bet would be a single Jump with a choice of timeline. Otherwise it'd be really hard to make each Jump feel unique.
>>
>>52592936
What do you even think you're going to end up achieving besides cementing the idea that Dirge is associated with shitposting? That's literally the only thing we get every day, a hundred posts shitposting about a guy who left because of shitposting, and now you decide to add more shitposting on top of the shitposting.

Should we be feeling happy that you get to have a joke at his expense? Or are you trying to get everyone to take part on shitting on him, because I don't think you need to be helping the shitposter with that.

DDAnon.

We know he's still around because of that War on Geminar he dropped and preceded to act like this over.

In moderation I would agree, but that comment concerns me, as it seems you may (assuming i'm talking to the same guy) over-compensate in the other direction.

Actually that might be pretty neat. DDAnon was always pretty good at making jumps neat and tidy. He's pretty much Dirge's polar opposite, so if anything he should make a pretty good jump out of it given that Blame! isn't hentai.
>>
>>52592868
Anon, you're forgetting that their are other factions of Raksha beyond the church. There's the Duchy of Mirrors and the Princess' faction, both of whom want to preserve creation. The first has a habit of living among mortals and limiting their feeding, the later has a habit of ruling over mortals and keeping them alive, but kinda like pets or cattle.

>>52593014
Really? I always remembered DDAnon being super cocky about his Jumps which ended up being kinda blande in the end as he tried to tote some spiel about "people would accept anything I put out if it's good quality", while never delivering on said quality. Admittedly this was a long time ago though. Did he get better at some point???
>>

Only for the purposes of their Story anon. While the Raksha might be in different Factions, they can, do, and will drop their current faction for another at the drop of a hat if they think it makes a more interesting Story.

>>52593028
What? If you take a look at the Dragon's Dogma jump and compare that with a Dirge jump it's a pretty substantial difference ok. You can hate on either of them all you want, but you can't tell me that DDanon's jumps aren't short and sweet compared to Dirge's.
>>
>>52593040
Wait, those are all wrong...

>>
>>52592434
The shitposter loves to use him as fuel because he rarely defends himself, it upsets people, and when he DOES show up he's easy to bully into being upset.
>>
>>52593006
Yeah, not much chance of any of them being good. Still, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have been told that I am quite the optimist. I have also been called stupidly optimistic. Lets see which it the case here.
>>
>>52593056
Dragon's Dogma Jump sucks and I'll forever regret someone else not doing it.
>>
>>52593049
I've never seen why people call his jumps bland. Compared with other jumps they just seemed pretty normal to me. And I was talking about them as jumpmakers anon. DDanon and Dirge were both cocky as shit as people. They're not polar opposites in that respect, no.

Isn't that why the whole Dirge is the second coming of DDanon shit started getting spewed out.
>>
>>52593049
No, that's just the shitposter continuing his anti-dirge crap. DD still makes vague, fluff-bare, and unexplained jumps them yells at you for asking him about what things mean. He's still just as abrasive as ever. That's why Geminar isn't on the drive despite it not being lewd, he refused to respond positively to criticism or even questioning.
>>
>>52593014
DDA did make short jumps of things.
I wouldn't say they're neat and tidy Dragons Dogma had some messy lists in it, but they certainly weren't doorstoppers. Honestly some of them felt almost unfinished. Like that Heroic Age. That was like half a jump.

I don't really get the utter revulsion some people seem to have for him, but I don't think he was all that great either.

Got a batarang from every Batman I could and hung them up, a load of posters of weird bands that only exist in one setting or another, signed pictures, etc.

It's pretty much why I never really bother with warehouse aesthetic upgrades. I like my warehouse as it is - with a whole lot of crazy crap on the walls and a couple of stuffed dinosaurs in the corner.
>>
>>52593164

I don't remember him being cocky back in the day though, seemed like an alright enough guy. Might just be people repeating shitposter memes.
>>
>>52593209
The point is the dragons dogma jump is terrible. He offers a wakestone in items but at the same time you can buy the exact same item with another item purchase for a fraction of the price.
>>
>>52593223
No I remember him quite clearly being the exact opposite of cocky.
OAA and him share this trait.

Dirge did pull a Sakurai a couple times when people gave him shit over inconsequential stuff, but that's really the only thing I can think of that is even close to cocky.
>>
>>52593182
Yeah but it would just discredit them more than anything, they wouldn't be that stupid. Associating Dirge to DDanon is believable to more people because people didn't know what either of them are like but know that they're jumpmakers that are not well liked, and they can play up the whole both of them are douchebags thing. But Mommy only tried to make Black Butler and that spongebob thing, so she's not really known for jumpmaking.

And they can't try to play the angle that Dirge was active on the thread because that would go against how the shitposters say he was too stuck up to give anyone the time of day. Trying to associate Dirge to Mommy would be like driving head first into a dead end road.
>>
>>52593270

I'd say terrible is going too far since we have some real stinkers out there, but Dragons Dogman could have been much better for sure.

So guys after Fallen London and Sunless Sea how many souls do you guys think I'd have? Just asking because I kind of.. well I have lots of soul/Soul-things in my warehouse nowadays.

I'm just asking... you know... for reasons.

Fullmetal Alchemist Jump 093:
CP: 1000
Drawbacks:
Tremor [+300]
Rival of the State [+300]
Location:
Origin: Drop-In
Perks:
Advanced Formula [-100]
Simplified Formula [-100]
Alkahestry [-300]
Gear:
Throwing Knives [Free]
M1913 Cavalry Sabre [Free]
Red Stone [-600]

Brotherhood [-500]

So, my ability to do cool stuff is slightly limited by the locals trying their damnedest to take me down. Thankfully I'm useing Matter-Energy Transmutations and over time I gain a bit of rep for being fucking crazy, they even gave me a super edgy title 'Black Ice' because of my hallmark uses of sudden darkness and ice in my techniques.

I haven't noticed a difference since he left, pretty much everyone on the IRC knows their stuff when it comes to lore. If you want to engage in loreposting just throw up a topic.
>>
>>52593382
Oh is that the stuff you're talking about? Yeah, lots of people are opinionated about how to go about Jumpmaking though, especially in the IRC which is made up of a majority of people who have made a Jump at some point or another.

I know some people questioned whether Cat's scenarios should have been called story prompts due their length, or where Capstone Boosters were applicable if ever when someone's making a Jump and thinking about including one. I wouldn't call it something unique to Dirge, definitely not a sign of being cocky.
>>
>>52593396
His opinion isn't popular, because he is lying about Dirge being cocky. He's just making excuses to cover up his real reason for disliking Dirge, or just because he's trying to outdo shit-kun.
>>
>>52593382
I've talked to him about jumpmaking before. He was helpful the whole way through.
I don't know where you're getting cocky from. I mean if he gave advice and you didn't like it I guess that might have bothered you but that doesn't make him cocky.

Well, so long as we're posting builds:

>I know some people questioned whether Cat's scenarios should have been called story prompts due their length
It's funny that you bring that up when Dirge was probably one of the most vocal people about what scenarios should be, even though he cribbed the idea from Babylon and Cats to begin with. I mean that's why his opinions come off as being a cocky bitch to begin with, all of them were just things he had cribbed off of other people and yet he acted like he had any sort of authority on it. You can write it off, but to me he had no right to that attitude.
>>
>>52593463
I struck a deal with Isidoros and Szoroney. We would escape together, they would open their Charms to me, and then we would wage War upon Heaven. The corrupt and petty gods would lie on the ground at our feet, broken an bloody, as the Black Boar had once lain at the feet of their Exalted. And so it began.

For 500 years, we fought together against unbreakable bonds. For 500 years, I pounded on my own soul. For half a millennia, my Yozi partners... changed as my perks took their effect. Their binding oaths were sworn on their own unchanging natures, but now they were no longer the same beings as all those ages ago. Their bonds were loosened enough that I was able to make a Deal with them, binding the oaths in another magical contract. And they slipped free the bonds of the Demon City.

All of Malfeas felt it, and turned their gaze on me. Where the Yozi had stared upon me with disappointment before as a spent centuries seemingly wasting their gifts meandering with the Black Boar and striking my own soul, they now stared in disbelief. They sought to capture me and demand I free them as well. All of Hell closed in on me, but I drew out Boosted Gear. My oaths were more flexible than that of a Yozi, a necessity due to my fluid mortal nature merely changing wouldn't result in my freedom, as it was only natural for me to change. So instead I hsd wielded the power of the Noble Eightfold Path to strike directly at the chains on my soul, slowly cracking the bindings on me. I struck my innermost being one final time, mangling my soul, but destroying my bonds. My soul would heal, but my chains would not.

Huh, wished I'd had more to do with him while he was here. Sounds like he's a nice guy.

Pity certain assholes are doing their autistic best to retardedly shit all over someone who isn't even here.

I mean seriously, Dirge made it clear that if anyone here wanted to make jumps in the settings he'd already covered, like Blame!, then they were free to do so. There is no need to criticise him to try and justify making another jump, just do it... oh fuck.

I just remembered why I found this behaviour familiar. Perfect Lionheart and his Worm fanfic.

He shat all over Wildbow every time he had a chance, like he couldn't justify making a fanfic of a story unless the author was some sort of fool. He could just take things his own direction, he needed to criticise the author as if they should have written his fanfic right from the start!

He did the same thing with JK Rowling with Partially Kissed Hero and Kishimoto with naruto, he was just more subtle about it.

Anons, you are behaving like Perfect Lionheart. Wake up. You don't want this. Save yourselves from Evil!!!!!!

>>
>>52593569
... You know, I guess it would.

I originally had it different because I was going to buy the other Yellow perks and the Crown of Thunders.
>>
>>52593521
Dirge did scenarios before I did and always credited Babs.

I started doing my scenario things after thinking I could do a page of alt win conditions for ASoIaF after seeing the drawback in Tropico about staying in charge of your island for 300 years (which is why one of the scenarios in ASoIaF is exactly the same as that drawback).

I hadn't realised dirge had done scenarios earlier because I'm generally not that knowledgeable on weaboo stuff so hadn't looked into his jumps.

It's kind of like a convergent evolution thing where we stole the idea off different people.
>>
>>52593521
Alright, I mean you're welcome to your opinion and everything, but at this point it's starting to sound like you had a personal problem. Most of the people speaking up now are speaking from personal experience talking with him. Everything alright?

Yeah he was nice enough. I think more than anything he was a workaholic. Just seemed kinda perpetually tired, I think he slept in his place's offices a few times.

>Can I just… not use the sword?
You could try.

>Does it have agency of its own if I just leave it in its sheathe?
It can teleport into your hand whenever it feels like, it can telepathically smack-talk you, it can force you into contests of wills to fuck you over (even if you override it, that still gives you a penalty), and it's capable of limited movement (though not full autonomous flight).

And that's if it doesn't have any other Charms to use, besides the teleporting one. Which is unlikely, considering it's called exceptionally powerful.

>>52593604
>>52593622
The point was more that he didn't have a right to his attitude period, but as long as he doesn't come back this isn't really an issue.
>>
>>52593521
Assuming all you said is factually true, which in this thread is a big assumption.

I can see where he was coming from, having had arguments like this in the past.

He wasn't being cocky or arrogant or even standing for himself. He was acting as a proxy for Babylon and Cats. He was trying to represent them and their vision as he saw it.

Basically, White Knighting. Well-intentioned, but flawed. Being as he would be basing his beliefs of what they stood for on incomplete information subect to personal bias and misinterpretation.

It's an easy mistake for certain personality types to make, worse since they can't compromise, because they are just, in their own mind, acting as a agent for another person.

I usually mesh pretty okay, when I deign to work with a team and not just be a lone wanderer type.

I was part of the Crystal Gems in Steven Universe, and somehow managed to pull our weight despite being a Dysfunctional Conversation. Azurite did research things and Turquoise tried to keep things mellow. They both had their issues, but they worked with the rest of the team pretty okay.

I was part of Superman's side in Injustice. A cat-themed villain scientist called "Downfall", I mostly worked on gadgets and automation equipment in the background while I waited for that one drawback to slowly do in the rest of the team.

I traveled with Inuyasha's team during the titular jump, as a priestess. I kindof took the place of Kikyo in the story (particularly in the way I utterly vaporized that witch, preventing her resurrection), except that I traveled around with the team and kinda hung in the back as a sortof retainer, and only occasionally showed up the other characters with a massive display of power.

The trick see is to not just immediately take over the plot. You gotta let other people feel like they're important, too.

Principals must be consistent Bancho, denying the rights of anyone no matter how reprehensible their beliefs is among the highest injustices. You cannot punish someone for something they might do, you can take precautions against things they are likely to do but even that is wrong if done heavyhandedly (which I assume any measures you're likely to take would be).

Also punishing people for their beliefs is to create thought crimes, which is pretty much the most anti freedom you can get.

I have nothing against killing Nazis, but you don't retaliate with physical violence against someone speaking out and demonstrating their beliefs. That'll lead to you being Regime Superman or even worse. You'll betray your own principles. He Who Fights Monsters and whatnot. Now, when they attempt to harm someone else, that's a different story.

But even then, while punching Nazis would be incredibly satisfying, I'd recommend instead making them a different ethnicity and seeing if they can come to terms with it and be a better person. Moral? Hell no. Entertaining and cathartically satisfying? Definitely.

There's also a nice little large-scale memeory manipulation power in Touhou. Use that to make everyone forget their rallies and propoganda, while also reprogramming them. Make the world forget modern Nazi-ism.

American textbooks to this day pretend the war started after Pearl Harbour rather than having been going on in Europe, started by the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany, with America sitting on it's hands for a good two years.

Bancho, good and evil are human constructions. When you have power over every mind and what they believe, then morality is a dial you can turn as you please.
Besides, how can it be evil to remove toxic beliefs like Nazi-ism, like racism and sexism and so many other kinds of bigotry? And even then, people are just so stupid at times, why not make then smarter, more capable? But people have so many hangups and imperfections, why not do them a favour and iron them out? They will thank you in the end. And the world will be a better place for it, with lasting peace and sensibility and stablility.

Pretty sure we have perks for that now, actually. At least, for creating peace. The most recent Fire Emblem jump has a perk that allows you to create peace even between two warring factions, through a number of different tactics, including a common enemy (which can be you). Grab a bunch of fear perks, push mankind to their limit, and then have your companions or a clone of you work behind the scenes to form bonds between people and unite everyone, not only for survival, but for true brotherhood. I'd recommend maintaining a constant threat even after they unite and beat you or whatever monster/minions you sent to terrorise them back the first time, so that you remain a common enemy and threat. All the while, keep having your companions and/or your clone work on deepening the existing bonds and promoting brotherhood and peace between humans. Reward mankind's morally upright actions with victories and punish their evil acts and disunity with defeat. That'll encourage them!

Erm, at least, in theory it will...

You can keep them in larger numbers, making it easier to have fun with them. You can also make sure that they are healthier making it safer for you to have fun with some of them.

Larger number also allow for them to thrive, under your guidence, more readily and achieve many great and useful things you can borrow for your own needs.

I respectfully disagree. Harming others for their beliefs is what people have been doing for time immemorial. Every time you argue with someone over their beliefs, you are 'harming' them by arguing, stressing them, forcing them to put effort into defending their position.
And in any case, some people just need a good old reprogramming, for their own good.

*Distastefully pinches bridge of my nose and steps over the huge mess this thread is right now*

Anyway, do these Hamtaro perks look OP or worded strangely?

Also somewhat half-contemplating making a gauntlet option, but I'm stuck on rewards. Possible rewards include bringing all your hamham friends along as companions that can optionally share the same slot if you take it (although there will be a 100 CP canon companion for one hamham) or some other reward like a hamster army you can bring with you

This Calls For Ham Ham Power! (400 CP, Discount Hamham)
Oh no! You’re in a scary situation! Your fat little body got stuck in a crack and now you can’t turn around and get out! This calls for Ham Ham Power! There’s a lot of willpower for tiny little thing like yourself (In fact, some would say it’s compressed as a result.), and you’ve got ingenious solutions to hopeless situations if you’re stuck in danger or someone else needs help! Such as crawling up the walls and nibbling a hole in the roof to get out. With you and your buddies, you’ll find most problems can be solved, if you plausibly could. Let’s all work together!

Tunnel Digger (600 CP, Discount Hamham)
Everyone needs a base...and now you can make one! You can’t install advanced weaponry or other self-defense mechanisms with this skill alone, but you can make the comfiest, nicest place to live underground. With pillows, carpets, and everything! Provided you have help from your friends, of course. Heck, digging tunnels is such a fun and easy hobby for you that you could set up a nice, stable underground series of tunnels. They’ll never collapse on each other, although the occasional one or two person might fall in them from the outside, they’ll never get hurt.

I knew someone would open that can of worms in /jc/

now for a better question, how much cp would a perk that lets you create sapient life cost?
>>
>>52594509
Depends on which jump.
Geneforge has that for basically free for example, but cloning tech is rather expensive in some tech jumps.
You'll want to price it relative to it's value and rarity in the setting.
>>
>>52594497
I like it! Looks nice. Oh, by the way, I've been meaning to ask you about this, what's the upper limit on Starseed Awakening?

>>52594509
Depends on what other perks are on offer, really. Could be 600, 400, 200, or 800, it all depends.
>>
>>52594509
For an already existing jump? Nothing, Geneforge lets you do that for free do to the Shaping magic that is the core of the series. There are at least five Sapient beings that have been made via Shaping.
Serviles, Dracons, Eyebeasts, Dryaks, and Servant Minds.

For a new jump? It depends on the jump in question. I personally feel that prices should be appropriate to how the power ranks in-universe, as opposed to comparing it to other jumps.
>>
>>52594497
>emotes
What are you, twelve?

Well, your perks are solid at least. Not sure about a gauntlet. I mean, it makes sense but gauntlets are the devil and negate the whole point of jumpchain. Unless you do the Mad Max op-out choice that is. I'm still in awe of how good that move was.
>>
>>52594509
Give me a woman and I can do it for free.

Jokes aside, define creating sapient life. A new species? New humans? Uplifting a dog? Also, how good is it in the context of the setting? If everyone can do it with the press of a button it should be on the cheap side, if not probably on the expensive side
>>
>>52594509
There's a lot of variables that need answering for that. What form does the sapient life take? How smart are they are they exactly? How much sapient life can you make at a time? Is it difficult? Simple and easy?

>>
>>52594445
>there also necessary
Are they though?
Time is, I would agree, because without time, how cold we have progress? How could things be born, live and die codl and alone without Time? Time is absolutely necessary.
And Lame, yes, it too is necessary, for what is Lame but a comparison between two distinct things where some is found comparatively lacking. Lame is the fundamental of distinction between things, allowing for quantification and qualification through comparison at the same time. Truly Lame is necessary.
Good and Evil being necessary, I do not agree, with certain provisos. Culture needs Good and Evil as they are sub-sets of Lame, where comparisons are made between behaviour which benefits and harms the community. Good deeds, actions behaviour are all benefical for the community and as the needs of the community change then so to does the definition of Good. Similiarly for Evil.
But if Good and Evil are comparisons used to distinguish whether behaviour within a culture is beneficial or harmful for that culture, can either exist outside the culture?
Time and Lame can exist even in a singular lonesome individual, while Good and Evil require comparison between persons and enough persons to form a community/culture with it's own standards for behaviour.

And what happens, Bancho, where the community/culture is subsumed into one singular individual, one person who has clearly their own preferences, their own judgements as to what acts are Good or Harmful? Have they not sidestepped community/culture through subsuming it, just as alonesome person has? And if so, then for them Morality is a chain that no longer binds them, but is instead their will and self-interest made culturally manifest.

We have an opportunity here in jumpchain, albiet within the realms of our imaginations to discard the unncessary and understand better our own culture and community by seeing it from the outside-in.

Besides, the most important thing is not taking a stand against Evil, but doing so while being effective at it.

I can, through my suggested means, erase Evil to the point where both it and Good become irrelevant and meaningless or subject entirely to my perspective and will.

You can punch a guy in the face and hurt your position worse than if you did nothing at all. Making Nazi-martyrs doesn't reduce Evil and in a way helps it due to your thoughtlessness.

>ideas lead to actions,by infecting people with Nazi ideology in a democratic society . They set the stage for that society becoming a Nazi society.
Incorrect, desperation creates Nazis.

In order for a large group to become Nazis they must first be subjected to harm (crippling poverty), have someone convince them that they can fix it (Hitler, other Nazi leadership), and have that solution include the eradication of undesirables (Jews, gays, etc.).

Without these factors the Nazis are harmless nuisances, unless this changes and they start causing harm they must be granted the same rights and freedoms as anyone else. Including the freedom of expression.

>>52594756
>it is a good to allow the continued existence of evil
No, I am saying it is evil to inflict harm on others even if they themselves are evil. It may be necessary to inflict harm on others, such as when they pose an active threat but that is still evil. Necessary evil but still evil.

You don't get to allow someone to be evil, the idea that you should control that is evil and anti freedom. They have every right to be as evil as they want to be and if others choose to follow them they also have that right.

Until they act in a manner that creates an active threat other people inflicting violence on them is evil, more evil even than the people who hold the evil idea.

>violence is in of itself a tool of evil?
Closer, violence is in most cases evil. Often necessary evil but still evil.
Suppression of other peoples rights is always evil. Occasionally necessary evil but still evil.
Violently suppressing the rights of others when they pose no present and active threat to you or others is extremely evil.

The beast (600 cp): You are more than just an average demon now. A great power has been granted to you, perhaps you inherited from your progenitor, or you always had that potential to achieve this power. Regardless of how you did it, you are one of the beasts of chaos like the ancient Leviathan and Behemoth. This comes with many advantages such as the ability to change into a giant beast of air, water or land or a humanoid form if you prefer. You will dwarf armies with your strength, and their weapons won't be able to pierce your skin. You are a force of nature on its own right bending the climate to bring famine and destruction to the land. But don't believe you are invincible, catching enough attention will bring forth the armies of God or one of his many saints who will be able to damage you and if you are overconfident, unprepared or don't fight smartly, there is a high chance that you could die.

Garden of Eden (600) Discount human: You have been granted access to a place that nor your ancestor nor your children would even dream of: The ancient garden of Eden is one of the most beautiful places in God’s realm. It has the size of a small country and is a perfect replica of the original garden, except the tree of knowledge of life and death, which is just a normal apple tree here. The soil is always good and things you plant here grow twice faster than they would usually do. It has all kinds of animals, all docile to you and obeys your commands, though you cannot take them out of here. The garden can be accessed from your warehouse, or you can choose it to appear in a remote part of the world.

Hm...dragons are pretty strong. But they're not as strong as the old dragons, as the old dragons also lost their power when the Legendary Weapons of Elibe fucked up the natural laws

(It's also partially why they left. Partially. Elibe couldn't sustein them for whatever reason so they went to another dimension where they could live. This is why Ninian, a half-dragon who comes through the Gate into Elibe, dies in only a few years if she stays in Elibe and marries Eliwood. The dragons in Arcadia don't suffer this fate for some reason, however, so who knows.).

I don't know what I should compare it to in terms of strength. But I'd imagine you'd easily be a fairly powerful tank when it comes to mundane weaponry.

Drop in capstone actually, the demon one is this

An apple(600)Discount demon: Quite a strange apple you received from that snake, you simply see it as a regular red apple, though you find that when you want to eat it, the thought vanishes from your mind. Upon showing the apple to someone they will see instead what they desire the most, of course, a person that wants his dream house will not find his dream house on the palm, but instead, he will see a deed to the house. For obvious reasons, people will want to get their hands on it, and that is where the second ability of the Apple will come handy, no matter how much they are willing to sacrifice to get what they want, killing you won't be the first thing that comes to their mind. Try to use it with care, after all you only have one of it and you wouldn't want for people to start to fight over it just to realize what they are seeing isn't real. Is it violent, or even a sort of attack to simply give people, against their unwitting will, a handful of nanomachines that will improve their immune system, general health and enhance their longevity.
It wouldn't be moral to just help their bodies, one must take the opporunity to help their minds. If you can call giving everyone in the world a college-level education at least and enhancing IQ by several points, while also encouraging productive trains of though as 'silencing' them, well then i guess I am.
You have to understand though, that it is a just a matter of opporunity cost. To become better you have to leave behind the trapping of how you used to be, those flawed ways of thinking that holds so many people down.

Giving people gifts is not attacking and redirecting their enhanced faculties towards productive directions is not silencing them from speaking their old views as those views are no longer relevent.

I respectfully disagree with both of you.
Sometimes people just don't know what is good for them and an authority figure or uniquely well-positioned person is obligated to help them gets their heads on straight, either by literally straightening their heads or by terrifying them into reasonable compliance.
It is far more efficent to terrify a large group of people by the televised torment of one person than having to use one per person. You'd quickly run out of people in that case. Besides, brutalising a population is very useful for sociological control and manipulation, especially if you wish to shift a peaceful and ineffiecent society onto a war footing, where resources can be put to more prudent use.

But wouldn't it be so much more... moral, to just reprogam people to match what you wish. There would be no need for torture or any other external stimulus beyond a remote control. So elegant, such efficency, much wonder.

Forgot to answer this, and for that I apologize. I would say that it's a touch below the power of an Inner Senshi.

For comparison's sake, if you wanted to get a clear image (of course this is really splitting hairs here, I consider the difference in power to be minuscule barring obvious exceptions like Sailor Saturn or Sailor Pluto), the difference in powers here is about...

Awakened Star Seeds at max potential without shounen power ups > Inner Senshi > Outer Senshi (They had to be stronger to protect the solar system) > Sailor Moon

Technically she doesn't show up anywhere else in the bible. She's the result of an inconsistency in genesis, that the two versions are different on how Adam got a girl, one made with him(Lilith), one made from a rib(Eve), and a Jewish group that decided that there can be no inconsistencies in the holy books.

Which is, in my opinion Silly.
God ,might exist, god might be all powerful. But the books were not written by God, or with God looking over people's shoulder as they wrote.
They were written by Humans, and humans are not Perfect. We misunderstand things, or view them through the lens of a bias.
Of course there are going to be inconsistencies, because Humans are not Perfect and God let us write the book rather than writing it himself.
>>
>>52595567

Well it gives control of the four fundamental forces which can be trained up to a grand scale. Even at scrub levels you can still disentigrate houses.
I'd say that's a little bit better than some admitedly sizable stat ups and a cloning technique.

I guess if you really like getting every method of empowering other people you'd rather take the vial of blood, but other than that I'd say the supercapstone item/power is better than the regular 600cp item
>>

>>
>>52595753
>I think I am misunderstanding something, wasn't Lilith the first woman for Adam that became a succubus/demon? Maybe I should research more about it
Something like that, yeah. She was made from the dirt along with Adam, but refused to be subservient to him or something. She fucked off, and God made Eve from Adam's rib.

I, uh, think. Not too clear on the details either. Most of my knowledge about her is second-hand or wikipedia.

I mainly just wanted a companion made from one of my ribs, and was kinda confused about the 'trying to kill you' part?

Also, other ideas, reading back over Genesis:

Perk for the really long lifespans early humans had? Like with Adam living for 930 years and Methuselah for 969 years.

Cherubim and a flaming sword to guard some property we have?

A copy of Noah's Ark (with or without the animals/food)? Perk to be warned of such things as the flood?

Something for the original language before Babel?
>>
For the record, when the bible says that Eve (or whomever the fuck) is made from Adam's rib, it's not referring to the ribs in the belly.

Eve is made from Adam's penis bone. Which is why humans don't have one.

That doesn't have any effect on anything, ?I just wanted to use the phrase penis bone in context.
>>
>>52595753
>>52595856
Lilith's story is...complicated, and depends on what book you're reading. As far as I know, the story goes something like this:
>Lilith is Adam's original wife, made from dirt like him, but refuses to be subservient to him
>She leaves the Garden, despite God and his angels trying to convince her to stay and work things out
>Eventually, she hooks up with the fallen angel Samael (who some people believe to be the Devil), and upon hearing about Eve, convinces her new husband to go as the Serpent, trick them, and get them kicked out of the Garden
>She goes on to be the mother of many demons and monsters
Something like that.
>>
>>52595906
The proper term for a penis bone is baculum. Just in case you didn't know that.
>>
>>52595906

>>52595856
>>Perk for the really long lifespans early humans had? Like with Adam living for 930 years and Methuselah for 969 years.
That's going to be a free perk by default if you take the long way option and I am going to include it in the 200cp for humans along other things
>Cherubim and a flaming sword to guard some property we have?
Capstone item for angels:

The flaming sword(600)Discount Angel: When Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden the archangel Uriel placed his sword on the east of the garden of Eden, its flame turned every way preventing any human from entering it. Whether you obtained the original sword or one of your weapons gained similar properties to the original one, your weapon is now covered in holy flames. The flames can only be put out by the owner’s will and do not affect the owner nor do to the one it designated as allies, the flames also deal double damage against creatures of evil. Lastly, the sword has another function, when planted upon the ground like the archangel Uriel did, you can designate an area around the sword (its maximum size being a small city) to deny access to anyone that does not meet the conditions you set. Teleportation and going underground would fail as if the area was covered by an invisible wall. Only beings that have greater power than you will be able to break the wall and enter the surroundings.

>A copy of Noah's Ark (with or without the animals/food)? Perk to be warned of such things as the flood?
400cp for humans
>Something for the original language before Babel?

That scenario idea could work. Maybe have it focus on stopping the Tower of Babel's construction, or perhaps have it focus on uniting mankind despite the different languages and returning them to God, thus earning his forgiveness for the whole Tower thing and causing him to restore the original language? Or maybe have it be a trip through Heaven to speak to Metatron, the Voice of God, and have him teach you the language in exchange for helping Heaven out with something? Like, recapturing some Grigori that have escaped or hunting down some Nephilim?

I start my journey in a nuclear powerplant, with a autist playing a videogame. For lack of anything better to do, I break out my own console and hack right into cyberspace. This is now a 2-player game.

After a few modded games of Sonic Adventure, I've joined young Pete in battling the Gaiaphage. This is pathetic. At least Scion had the decency to sit down quietly and die until influenced. This thing hit a powerplant and is trying to blame circumstance for its' sociopathy.

Pete's starting to struggle; the game's getting intense now the thing's playing for keeps. The god-monologues have started. It's time. I tell Pete I've got this handled.

And once he's safely out of the way, I start absorbing ALL the radiation in the plant. Death would be a mercy to the little monster. I heal it, so that it understands exactly how well and truly it failed its' purpose, and then I melt the building around it into the shape of Ligier's punishment spheres. The moon-fragment cries and begs to be allowed to fulfil its' original purpose even as the burning metal cages it. Forever.

Nobody believes Pete when he complains I hit my level cap early, and stole his kill. Life goes on.

Later, I find a completely unrelated excuse to kick Caine in the balla so hard his pelvis is fractured.

I'm not sure what loophole in Vers nobility makes me the official PRINCESS of the empire, so to avoid confusion I think I've finally found a use for Islinde.

My other third circle souls start going on joyrides in space to make the asteroids dance and weave around each other. Interestingly, as a whole they keep edging slightly in one direction but jittering-probably confused where my exact location is.

Anyway, I don't quite know what's going on here so I'll probably visit Earth incognito to check it out. While Islin-ahem, Princess Islinde does all the actual princess work I'm not nearly as good at.

>Their leader's wartime incompetence.
It's no where near as bad as people make it out to be.
One of the biggest things people comment on about his "incompetence" was the fact he didn't want more MG42s sent to the Eastern Front, he wanted more single-action weapons sent there.
What these people fail to realize is that the biggest logistical problem on the Eastern Front was the fact they were running out of bullets, more MG42s would have just made the problem worse.

>>52596549
Japan only exists in 3, there are two Red Alert games before that.
>>
>>52596549
Um...no? Red Alert is the timeline where, due to Hitler not being around because of Einstein travelling back in time and killing him, Stalin starts WW2 and tries to conquer Europe and Asia. Red Alert 2 is about his successor and his psychic advisor/puppet master trying to take over the world. Red Alert 3 starts with the Soviets about to get squashed, and them travelling back in time and killing Einstein, which causes Japan to become a powerful empire with mecha and psychic little girls.

Red Alert 3's a pretty weird game.

Maybe don't associate the Beast perk with Leviathan and Behemoth. Leviathan and Behemoth are actually just really big livestock, God created them (and Ziz, too) so that he'd have a main course big enough to serve every righteous person in existence come the end of days. Kind of embarrassing to be a legendary meal.

The fruit of Eden likely wasn't an apple. The original text never specifies what sort of fruit it was, but was probably a pomegranate given that this was the ancient Middle East. It appears as an apple in post-Roman depictions because the Latin for "evil" and "apple" are homonyms.

That's Wrong.
In-fact RA2 has Kain trying to get the timeline back "on track" so to speak, C&C is based on "our" timeline, before Einstein time-traveled.

Oh, thank you.

Alright, Aldnoah Zero. God, this was a bad show. Cool concept, terrible execution. Hey Val, can we assume that no one in this universe has even a basic understanding of military doctrine? Because the plot kinds of hinges on that, but I'd feel bad just assuming that I could conquer the world so easily without getting jumpmaker confirmation. Kind of cheating to take advantage of flaws in the writing when going to an actual universe.

The jump is as the series depicts it. Not sure why it wouldn't be.

It might change, sure, but in the short term? That doesn't mean you shouldn't be cautious about the people with these beliefs coming into your country, particularly when your government considers them a replacement for the population. Both aspects bode very ill for you and your nation.

It's also never going to happen if the US and its allies won't stop bombing the shit out of the place and leave it alone, of course.

>>

Yes, yes it does.
Me and my friend, who bought me the entire C&C series for like 5 bucks so we could play multiplayer(and because he was shocked I've never played any of them), played that mission. He was the bear.
It was an amazing mission. I went out of my way to save the Man and the Bear on the follow-up part of the mission, and had them sit in my base safe and sound while we finished the mission.

He had a completely overwhelming fighter turned into a bomber because he thought one big plane was better. This went badly.

He enforced a hard no retreat policy, this went badly.

He fucked with the tactics of his generals, this went badly.

He invaded Russia, this was a bad idea for so many reasons. Other than the obvious invading Russia in the winter problem there is also the fact that he was splitting his forces when he couldn't afford to. This went badly.

He declared war on the USA, yes he had promised to do this but his word was worth shit at this point and it pretty much ended any hope of a German victory. They had already lost their west front advantage and this was the end of what little hope they had left of recovering on that side of the war. This obviously went extremely badly.

I mean seriously if you see a country with a massive unemployment problem and a dormant industrial sector do you really want to declare war on them? They have as many troops as they need and the weapon production would completely restore their economy! Literally creating an enemy superpower, how stupid do you have to be!

>Seriously?
Yes. The writers wanted to make Inaho this super-smart technical fighter who defeats far more powerful foes with clever strategies. The problem is that they were not good at coming up with clever strategies. So Inaho instead wins with basic tactical skill and a high school-level knowledge of physics, with every other pilot just standing around and shooting aimlessly while they get mowed down by the Orbital Knight of the Week. Instead of making him look good, it makes everyone else look bad. It's all stuff like "lasers can't do indirect fire, get a spotter in position and have them call in artillery" or "figure out where the invisible enemy is by tracking the angles of their shots, and then mass fire in that direction". He is the only one to ever figure any of this out, and until the very last battle is the only Terran pilot to win a single fight with a Martian Kataphract.

Which two? Sure they couldn't fight the Brits on the sea but that was obvious, even then they almost won if not for an incompetent mine layer.

As for the Americans the Axis pretty much created that problem. "Would you like a way to fix your economy and become the world hegemony? Right let me bend over.".

>>
>>52596844
Yeah. The Martian units are powerful, but until near the end of the second season they only have a couple and the pilots are all way overreliant on their gimmicks. And the Terrans have the problem with all being idiots that I've stated. The only time they did anything clever on their own initiative was when they tried to track the invisible enemy with a smokescreen to reveal their position, I'll give them credit for that one. Of course, the electric Kataphract just zapped the smoke and got rid of it, something about colloidal ions.

>>52596871
...difficult to say, but I'd tentatively say the ones without auto-surprise negation and perfect defenses couldn't, while those with them would just ignore it
>>
>>52596871
The Yozi abused Time fuckery constantly and still lost to the exalted. So they can deal with it.

That said time fuckery was cosmically banned later so you can be sure it was enough of a pain for them to re wright the laws of the universe to ensure they wouldn't have to anymore.
>>
>>52596871
Not very. With the right charm combos they can still peftect block/dodge/tank either right before you timestop or the split second after it ends. but there's not really any available time manipulation in creation so most would fold to it.
>>
>>52596871
Fairly well. They have Charms to turn surprise attacks into regular attacks and getting targeted by multiple attacks in a second is already something they deal with regularly.

Basically, it wouldn't be anything new to them, even if the method was exotic.
>>
>>52596817
Every time I see this, I wonder how much people are skimming over. There's certainly some dumb moments but even during those, people seem to conveniently ignore that those Martian weapons almost always massively outmatch the humans in every way, in addition to their special ability. Inaho isn't just thinking up ways to beat them, often in seconds or a minute during the middle of the fight, he's also keeping up with and beating machines with stats at least tens of times higher then his own machine in every way (Though there are a few exceptions, Orytgia for one).

There is some dumb stuff, a couple of the battles really should have been solved much easier, but the level people exaggerate it to makes the series out to be populated by mental retards. Even then, a lot of stuff like Orytgia can easily be explained by just the confusion and fear made by these machines that are basically fucking magical, especially since a large portion of the soldiers are literally just out of high school. Instead of the reality, which is that most of the time, the human side gets killed in a few seconds before they even realise what their enemy's power is and that the MC is thinking up these simple tactics in absurd amounts of time while also being an absurdly skilled ace pilot on top of that.

Actually wait-during the civil war before the founding of the Solar Deliberative time broke at one point, and some Exalts fixed it. So most likely all of them probably can deal with a mere timestop if causality itself unravelling just meant they had to make sacrifices.

The Incarnae have sworn, under confirmation of the best truth-detected Charms, they didn't secretly fix it. This means very little though, because defence trumps offence and some of the Incarnae have effectively indefinite mental perfect defences.

It would be a good way to lock someone down. Of course some could still fight back with perfect attacks you might not be able to deal with, but since charm combos are costly and not everyone is running a hyper paranoia build you could go pretty far with something like Lunar Dial until you have to fight something ridiculous.
>>
>>52596925
Every time I see this, I wonder if you were watching the same show. Yeah, there are occasions where the enemy surprises everyone and they're too panicked to respond, I admit that. But there are plenty of other fights where they either go into them knowing what the enemy is capable of or the fight drags on long enough that someone else in the group (which does include many adults, only one of whom freezes up in combat due to his PTSD) should have thought of something.

For the Nilokeras they had time to retreat and regroup before engaging, Inaho was the only person who thought of blinding it. The Argyre they fought over several engagements, Inaho was the only one to think of using reactive armor (why aren't the Kataphrakts equipped with that by default, anyway? Everyone uses reactive armor) to deflect the plasma swords. Hellas the fight went on all day, Inaho was the one to figure out that when the hands were moving they would have to be less armored. Dioscuria was literally "every other Aldnoah unit they had fought before put together", so even though it was a surprise they should have remembered the old tricks. For Elysium his plan was literally just "heat things up and the cold field will be draining that instead of me", so he figured out that "fire bad for ice monster", something pretty intuitive. Solis had been fought before, they knew its capabilities, someone else should have thought to use spotters hours before Inaho got on the stage. Scandia the other Terrans were actually kind of clever for, I'll give them that, but Elektris was dumb for many reasons. And then that just leaves Ortygia, for which his strategy was just "shoot them all a lot really fast before they reform", which was exactly what the Kataphrakts were doing before, he just had them coordinate their fire for better effect. These people don't know how to coordinate fire, what the hell are they doing on a battlefield?
>>
>>52597003
Mote tapping should be your strategy with any of the more powerful entities in Exalted and yes that is likely a good way to do it.

Hmm. Using the seeds of potential from the Infernals jump to cultivate Barbadium trees might be a good idea. Especially since demon city terraforming techniques are big on vitriol-based soul infusion reinforcement, so watering the grove with molten demons would probably give Creation something more resilient than wood and earth combined. Then cultivate a breed of demon that lives in symbiosis with the trees-and voila, carnivorous soul-eating forest terraformation for the win! Drain the bordermarches!

I'd suggest Cuendillar for better strength, but it seems a lot harder to spread and make more of and Barbadium seems to mesh better as being part of a living being's organic content.

Most male mammals have a baculum, which is a bone in the penis that helps it function.
This bone is basically vestigial in great apes, and entirely gone in humans.
Apes are also one of the only mammal groups missing lucidum tapetum, which is that weird shine you see in mammal eyes at night, helps with night vision.
Apes are also one of the few mammal groups that can see the color red; it lost function in most mammals millions of years ago as they evolved away from their reptilian origins, but somehow got reactivated for the Great Apes.

tl;dr – Apes are weird, humans doubly so.
