Got some time on my hands.
We did the story of Elric to its tragic conclusion.
But now, we got the other favorite. DOING CORUM BITCHES.

Feel a bit bad about that one. Was hoping more of a discussion was gonna happen since it was the end of the Elric saga.
There's a link to the entire series in there though so go ahead and have it.

No problemo
What do you think of it?
>>52402949
I like looking at mignola using big blocks of red but not as intensely stylized as in hellboy. The sea creature armour looks neat. Probably going to slide Mabden in as the next roving barbarian threat I have in a game. Dinosaur riders are cool, and the implication that flying technomagic cities use to be a thing is cool. The different interpretations of aricoch are interesting.
I haven't read the books though, so it seems like Corum learned how to fight really quickly. Not sure how that's represented in book.
How long until he accidentally kills his gf? Power necessary to get revenge also killing your friends and loved ones seems to be a common theme.

You'll have to show up tomorrow to find out!
By the way, the Arioch here, is the same Arioch in Elric's world but with different levels of strength because Chaos is truly chaotic and inconsistent in this multiverse
>>52403190
The Mabden are pretty much the source for the Warriors and Marauders of Chaos. In the second book, they summon some of their gods, which I believe were the Bear and the Wolf.
>>52404022
The Dog and the Horned Bear. They also have the first typical chaos horde: giant flying demon shark leading half-beast men. So much of Warhammer Fantasy came straight from the Corum books.
Even 40k has a lot to give them credit for. Prince Gaynor the Damned of the chaos horde in book two, he's the original version of... that Slaanesh champion who can't die. I forgot his name.
And a lot comes from the Elric books, too. Chaos' typical "red and brass" look was Elric's nemesis'. He wore "flame red" plate armor.
And chaos runeswords, even chaos chariots pulled by giant reptiles!
Even the newer Warhammer factions pull ideas from works that are heavily influenced by Moorcock.
I think only the last incarnation of the Ogre Kingdoms was original enough to stand out. The ogres vs giants bit, was my favorite part. The imagery is clear and the motifs are crisp.
Did Hawkmoon ever get the same comic treatment as Elric and Corum?
Corum was my first foray into Moorcock's work, but Hawkmoon, that's where my heart is.
And damn, I wanna steal all of the Eternal Champion cycle for my campaign.
