I chose to lure an iron golem our jackass cleric had infused with fire magic out onto a rickety pier, hoping it'd fall into the water and...I didn't know what, but hopefully be unable to swim.

The golem didn't break the thing with its weight, and so I took one swing too many before our sorcerer managed to take out the support beams. The golem was destroyed when it got submerged in the water, but my character had been pulped the turn before.

The entire app would be much better if she was still in the act of raising money to buy the priest's freedom. The problem with the app is that it has FAR too much detail on things that are completely irrelevant (who fucking cares who Hafsa is?) and doesn't give enough detail on things that ARE very relevant. Some surface thoughts:

How old is Borgor? We know he's at least 14 years older than the character. It's easy to picture him being a kindly, elderly priest, but we don't know for sure. If he is elderly, did the authorities ever stop to think about how he might have lived a double life as an art thief talented enough to steal from several homes? Why would an old man be put into slavery? Who would buy an old man slave? Who would refuse to allow an old man slave's debt to be paid off? Is refusing to allow a slave's debt to be paid off something that can even be done?

I was envisioning him in his late 20s when he originally found Essa. Then by the time he was imprisoned he'd be in his early 40s.

It's atypical to the point of being exactly between single steps on the Paizo chart and size steps. 1d8 to 1d10 is a single step on the chart, but the only way to go from 2d6 to 3d6 on the chart in one step is for it to be a size step. Basically I don't think the SoM devs understand how the size increase table for dice works at all.

Not pathfinder specific but my chronicler in Mutant Year Zero made the ultimate sacrifice for the people of the Ark.

Pushing through an angry mob guarding a pregnant mutant, the first pregnancy in the Ark anyone can recall, I only scored one success on a move roll the GM asked me to make to get clear of the crowd safely.

I elected to use the roll on my ally, which saw me trample out the other side of the crowd to eb gunned down by the boss I had worked for all campaign, he ws fearful someone was making an attempton his life.

It was a great way to end the campaign in my eyes as aside from the lack of a new generation being born, play had stagnated and become too easy as we built a huge amount of resources and stabilised life in the Ark to keep people mostly content with full bellies and clean drinking water.

Most deaths I've experienced as a player have been huge dice knocking me and/or allies down and then the party failing to adapt and stabilise the situation.

I'll always remember this campaign, more tha just murder hobos.

Level 1 is a bright-eyed youngster fresh in the business, level 3 is someone that's got some experience under their belt.

Level 5 is hardened and pretty much a pro in their field, level 7 is they're a pro even among others in their field.

Level 9 is when governments start asking for your expertise in your field, and level 11 is when you start to become a national symbol for that field and how others should aspire to be like you.

I want to say it was actually a really hard process to whittle through the applications and settle on party composition. I liked way too many of the characters you guys posted and had trouble deciding on which ones I wanted to go with.

I'll admit upfront that I'm kind of a biased person, and that a good portion of these picks are based on what put a smile on my face or seemed genuinely interesting. Others are wildcards I tossed in to ensure the group dynamics would be interesting.

The first picks are collectively, meant to be a high-fantasy riff on what I feel would be a good heroic group.

I honestly wish I was a shitty NEET, because the backups and honorable mentions were really quite good as well and I'd love to be able to do a second group.

It's been exhausting, but I'm looking forward to running this group of misfits.

I have long held a philosophy that you should always bet on bad odds, it feels better when you win and you can't be bothered when you lose. Except I'm actually very very upset about DHB not getting in here.

When I've DMed in the past, I've always liked to get the characters together and then arrange the campaign with them in mind. I understand it wouldn't work under this character app format, but every time I read DHB's characters and look at his builds I really wish I got to DM for or play with them because I think in terms of what I could do with them, so I'm disappointed when I know he won't get in after one read.

How does your character interact with others in their party, /pfg/? For Elsbeth, the other level-headed member of the group would be the Gunslinger, of whom is one of the original party members left. As such they've more or less developed a sort of sibling relationship; a cynical and over-thinking little sister and her good natured and bullish older brother.

So are they kill or no?
