Jump #276: Kamen Rider Heisei, Part 1
>Knight of Swords, reversed: May portend the swift initiation or conclusion of conflict, through the calamitous invocation of force.
Yeah, that sounds like Kamen Rider, all right.
>Age: 49
>Location: Tokyo, 1999
>Identity: Police
I thought my rider days were behind me. But I don't have to be a rider to protect the innocent... do I?
>Drawbacks: Repainted Legends (0), A Strange Mirage (+300), Most Dangerous Gegeru (+300)
So I'm the primary target for an entire tribe of critters, and to top that off, I'm ALSO the primary target of something strong enough to be a Big Bad? Good thing this isn't my first rodeo, even if I'm not as young as I used to be.
>"Luck" (1400)
This probably fits everything else about me up to this point. Perhaps more sleight of hand than psychic, but it keeps people guessing.
>First Responder (Free, Police)
Being able to plot the most direct route to where I need to go is helpful in the event that I can't teleport. And in most cases, I can't, obviously.
>I Trust Your Aim To Be True (Free, Police)
A nice little boost to handling weaponry, here. I'm okay with this.
>The Line of Duty (1300, Police)
Distract or push back enemies that are otherwise not vulnerable to what I use? Teaching this skill to others? Oh, ABSOLUTELY.
>The First 24 (1200, Police)
I am a police officer, of course investigating is crucial to my job. Anything that helps without having to go "I know this because I have clairvoyance" is a good thing.
>Weaving the Pattern (1000, Police)
And then there are times where clairvoyance is simply not enough. If you try to look ahead to the point that you figured everything out, you lock yourself in a predestination paradox.
>Their Greatest Weakness (700, Police)
Now here's an important one - figuring out the enemy, and learning how to defeat them. Anything that can aid that is important.
>>
>>52340807
>Deep Breath (400, Police)
I like this one. Brute power is no longer guaranteed to win on its own, skill and wit proving to be a match. I may not intend to be an action hero, but there are times where it will be useful.
>"It's Kuuga!" (Free, Police)
The same symbol I've been using through my chain. Three circles, with a line between them. Simple and distinct.
>Gun (Free, Police)
I'm a cop. Of course I have a sidearm. Pity I don't have the special bullets, though.
>Project G4 (0, Police)
Instead, I've got this. The stakes were raised, and I have to meet them accordingly. And so, Kamen Rider G4, apparently. We've got G3 and G3-X, so it stands to reason. Sure, I've got less toys than they do, but if I need to break out the big guns, I make sure they are the BIG guns.

I actually didn't initially intend to be a kamen rider again, but it seems that in this world of injustice, there's no choice. Someone must protect the smiles of the people. I am not the only one, but a burden shared is a burden halved. I'm not going to go into overmuch detail - there's far too much happening in my time here, and the thread has made it clear that they don't like seven or eight posts when I make a build - but that which is important remains true. When threats to humanity come, we shall hold the line.

Seriously, if I were to go into detail I'd end up writing blurbs for each episode of a series. It'd be as long as the Naruto build.

Jump #277: Kamen Rider Heisei, Part 2
>The Sun, reversed: Loneliness and uncertainty.
Sadly fitting, here.
>Location: Tokyo

...actually...

I... look. I'm not going to post my build for this jump. Nor details.

What happened happened, and couldn't have happened any other way. It was inevitable.

But... this is not the way.

I can't honestly blame the man for why he did what he did, but I can blame him for how he executed it.

If he'd only...

But no.

They are together now. He and his true sister, not the mere memory of her. Even if the world crumbles, the whole of it revealed to be a sham, there are worlds other than these.

So shines a good deed in a weary world.

Onward.

>When have you ever blatantly acted against the tone of a certain setting purely to fuck everything up? How did you do it?
Infinite Stratos. Turning a harem comedy into a drama was fun. I manufactured a fake alien invasion and blamed Tabane for it in the process. Having almost all of the worlds IS systems turn off in the opening hours of the invasion plus me publicly accusing Tabane a year earlier of sending AI controlled IS systems after me in retaliation for me hacking my IS core to remove the backdoor that allows her to remote control any IS really helped paint the picture of her being an alien collaborator. Her "plan" was pretty genius, create a weapons system based of of alien technology that changes warfare overnight so much that every country focuses almost all their efforts in developing it at the cost of ignoring the rest of their military only to have that weapons system stop working when the world needs it most. Of course I was there to "fix" them allowing the invasion to be stopped.
>>
>>52341082
Why the heck isn't my name on that post? That's weird.

>>52341101
Because it's narrative driven, and honestly I would have broken the narrative too much with my stay there. The world wasn't just time looped, it was empty aside from the riders. The people... if you stayed and observed for too long, they weren't people, they were just pale imitations.

Tobias is 11, and the day his parents eagerly awaited has finally come. His entry into Hogwarts, where they much expect him to 'finally learn some proper wizard sensibilities'. No more of this wild, filthy frolicking and disregard for their authority.
If only.

Bright eyed, messy haired, Tobias was excited for the first time in months. A new place to explore, with new experiences, new creatures to study. Perhaps even a genuine challenge. Imagine his disapointment year one. Boring classes, simple spells, pandering, and frankly, the fellows of his house Ravenclaw seem rather stuffy and bookish. None seemed truely interested in field study. On the other hand.. there was that tremendous forest right next to the castle... a massive lake... mountains! It is incredible. Ravenclaw house didn't understand. What were house points next to the sort of field study oppertunities at this school? NObody yet knew he was an animagus, they were merely aware of him as someone with an uncanny knack of dissappearing and going places he shouldn't be.

Year one house point earnings : -190 : They do not appreciate wanderings into the forbidden forest.

Year two, most students were terrified, but Tobias could not be more excited. What could this creature be? What was it causing so much trouble. The monster of slytherin... what he would give to get a glimpse. To understand what it is. To know more about it. Unfortunately, he goes the year without so much as a glimpse at it. For the second year in a row, Gryffindor had managed to engage in some rather fantastic adventures, and his year as well! Perhaps they were worth talking to. If only to hope to learn more about this 'Basilisk'. Evidently one professor fell victem to a charm that eliminated their memory. This bears further study, if only perhaps to minimize his punishments.
Year two house point earnings : -250 : They appreciate you up at night searching for slytherin's monster even less.
>>
I hate Wildbow so fucking much.
So I went to Worm(having rolled it, since I honestly don't like going there because of the whole Golden Morning thing) , hoping I could, well, avoid Golden Morning by not taking a Shard and just torching Jack with Dual-Casted MDef ignoring 170% power Firaja spam or something that would leave nothing for Bonesaw to raise, so I could fuck off and try to have some measure of "fun" being a hero or something, maybe use white magic to heal people so Panacea can stop being angsty.
Of course, Bonesaw managed to get a hold of some of my blood. The jump after Bloodborne.

God I like the jump and all, but the setting doesn't lend itself to anything because it railroads you so hard.
Any ideas on how to bypass all the bullshit?
>>
>>52341347

Year three, and it was the first time he felt truely threatened by a creature he was researching. Even Tobias did not seek out interactions with the Dementors surrounding the school, but he certainly took notes when forced to. The village of hogsmede was leastwise pleasant to visit, and it gave him a chance to spend the day searching for flora and fauna in the surrounding mountains. Not only that, but to start Care of Magical Creatures. He had built a quick kinship with his profressor Hagrid, and now was studying the most fascinating things. If only he could have gotten that hippogryph pardoned. A shame and a waste of life, had the beast not escaped. His DADA teacher was also the most fascinating man, introducing him to dark creatures he might never have encountered.

Year Three house point earnings : -50 : A little care and an obliviate spell aids in minimizing witnesses and reports of wrongdoing.

Year Four, and what a shock. What force in the world conspired to include him in the TriWizard tournament along side TWO other hogwarts competitors?! Suffice to say, the other competing schools were less than impressed that Hogwarts had its own 'tri-wizard participation'. However... it was an experience he could not possibly pass up. Imagine his dissapointment when all his attempts to enter failed... than his surprise when his name came out anyway!
>>
>>52341247
Buy Mode from Counter-strike if you are looking for weapons.
>>
>>52341360

The first competition seemed surprisingly easy. The third year Ravenclaw earned top marks from a panel of baffled judges as he retrieved his egg unscathed, seeming to almost... tame the dragon, then lull it to sleep. The lake proved equally simple for him, recognizing mermish from earlier explorations, and putting his time instead into researching magical methods of breathing. Perhaps if he had not gotten so distracted... he would not have stayed in the lake until the judges came to look for his corpse. No marks for the second task... The third also proved rather simple... had he not met with the most gorgeous sphynx. Once he solved her riddle, he could not help trying to ask her one in turn. At this point, marks were.. rather redundant, though Tobias had made a new friend.

Year Four house point earnings : 70 : Hagrid couldn't resist a rather large donation to Ravenclaw's house point totals after his spectacular work with the dragon, and he was too busy this year to break any rules. Well... at least often enough to get caught.

Year Five saw the return of umbridge... and his most trying year yet. Inattentive, easily distracted and prone to skipping classes... he was a DADA detention regular, and his loathing of the woman grew in such a way he had never before experienced. He often felt detatched from others, amicable but distant.. but this woman truely drew his ire. He earned the respect of teacher and student alike with his pranks. Nifflers in the office was indeed the least of this woman's problems. The school would be talking for YEARS about the baby dragon she found in her wardrobe.

Year Five house point earnings : -140 : Umbridge in particular rather loathed Tobias, and they had something of a rivalry. The other professors tried to.. erm.. balance... his point losses. At least somewhat.

Year Six came with Outstanding OWLS in Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology and Charms, Exceeds Expectations in Potions and Transfiguration, and who really cares about the rest? His only failing grade was in History of Magic. As far as hogwarts years go, this one was relatively calm for Tobias. He spent most of his free periods either studying for COMC or in the forbidden forest, even applying for a special permission pass to study in parts of the forest once Hagrid returned. Indeed a shame he had snuck into the forest the night of the attack on hogwarts.

Year Six house point earnings : 105 : Care of Magical creatures went well, and at this point, he often found out what creatures they were studying before they started classes, thanks to his friendship with Hagrid. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer.

Year Seven and there was a strict regime change at hogwarts. As a pureblood, he had little to fear from purge and persecution, but this is not to say he, or even his snobbish family, approved of the subjugation and persecution going on. Happy to join Dumbledore's Army, it was at last his status as an animagi would be uncovered. The death eaters could not contain him, and it was his last escape from 'detention' with the rest of the student body that gave him away. His creatures wreaked havok on Snape's regime... and when it came time for the final battle, it was he who escaped into the forest to rally the centaurs and other creatures of the forest against Voldemort's army. Tobias was proud to be part of the winning side.

Year Seven house point earnings : Sort of irrelevant.

With the dark lord fallen and the wizarding world returning to calm... he became a magizoologist. He applied to Headmaster McGonnagal to stay an additional three years studying and catologing the creatures of the forbidden forest for the schools records, earning himself room and board and advising on matters of creature preservation and safety.

It was at the end of this study he intended to go abroad... when there was a nasty incident involving a rubber band, a liquid lunch and a time turner. To those present, he seemed to vanish out of existance in a swirling vortex of sand.

What became of Tobias? Tune in next time for...

Alright first off I don't think Jack has a "170% power Firaja spam" or whatever, he just cuts good.

Secondly, it's simple: Don't rely on Shard powers. The entire cycle is founded on the idea that the species relies only on Shard powers to do superhero things. Focus on keeping people alive and shoring up defences; one or two people sitll whole and hale later on could make a world of difference. When you move against a villainous super, whenever possible try to come at an unexpected angle and hit first-it's the difference that let a girl who controls bugs hospitalise a cape who can brawl with Endbringers and Scion.

Hey so about Vision Tech from the Hero Duel World...

I understand that it basically takes any device and turns it into a spell-like ethereal construct. Say a portable shield generator into a forcefield or better yet, a plasma weapon into the power to shoot plasma from your hands or an armor into actual super strenght and durability.

But can we layer these things? Say i modify and put on bladedge's (or chaos) armors for speed, then turn them to spells, then put on Doomguy's armor and also turn it into a spell for its dakka and power?

Luffy isn't cut out to be a marine. No way his grandfather allow it, and no way the Navy would allow the son of the most wanted criminal in the world join. Plus he's dumb as rocks.

Luffy should stay a pirate, he does a lot of good that the Marines can't/won't. Remember the Marines are puppets of the World Nobles.

Fate/Stay Night was jump 377...

I had already Jumped all the Dragon Ball jumps, various Exalted jumps, Hero BBS, Fate/Zero with a companion caster, Seven Deadly Sins, Digimon and Cyber Sleuth, Anima Beyond Fantasy, among many others.

Putting other combos aside, just the fact that I could bring the enemies that I had killed on my way on those jumps back to fight for me put my on the higher cosmic scale in any setting.

>No way his grandfather allow it
>and no way the Navy would allow the son of the most wanted criminal in the world join.
>Remember the Marines are puppets of the World Nobles.

Have you even tried to read the manga?

Luffy would work as a Marine just as good as Garp did in his youth. Punching villains and doing whatever the hell he wants most of the time.
>>
>>52342022
Yet he left both Ace & Luffy with bandits. Further research, yeah he would've liked him to have join the Marines. I was wrong on that account, yet Luffy was raised by bandits, BFF with a notorious Pirate (Shanks) and even Luffy himself said that he dreamt of being a pirate since he was a kid. If he wanted Luffy to really join the Marines you think he would've left him & Ace with bandits? Or to chum it up with Shanks? His idea was that Luffy's harsh upbringing would've made him join the Marines, like him.

Yet as Nami points out. Strong ego runs in the family. You really think Luffy can handle rules & regulation?

>>52342108
Garp has more wits about him than Luffy. Also punching villains & doing whatever he wants, is what he's doing now. Plus he isn't forced to play nice with the World Government, or the Shichibukai.

I don't think I've ever blatantly acted against the tone. I usually either play along with the tone, or else use the tone against itself to cause havoc.
In the times I ignore tone completely, it's usually because I decided to hell with the plot because I was just gonna do jumper things.
"Jumper Things" being a tone all of itself, which most jumpers are familiar with.

> GATE
Does Gate count...? I sided with America, and then utterly crushed Japan with outside context bullshittery.
So America took over the plot.
They were really high on the AMERICA FUCK YEAH scale, basically loud and screaming assholes. But, y'know. Fuck that setting, y'know?

At my suggestion, the President renamed Japan into "Area 11".

Later I started hijacking nukes from around the world because I just wanted to break everything.

> Code Geass
I actually did fuck with the plot just a little here, by constantly pranking Lelouch. I replaced all his furniture with pink lacy princess furniture, and all his clothes with pink dresses, and I put a bunch of stuffed bears with little dresses and parasols in his mech. And I'd leave little notes behind, telling him I changed things to better suit him.
He got really obsessed with trying to catch me for awhile.

Finally I showed up on that island, you know, at the end of R1? In a pink flamenco inspired Zero costume, during the confrontation. Holding a rose.
And called him a pretty girl.

The amount of hatred in that "YOU."
I'll never forget it.

>He was raised by bandits
They were easy for Garp to exploit, but both Luffy and Ace regularly interacted with Foosha Village.
> Or to chum it up with Shanks?
He didn't had anything to do with Shanks being there during some months while he was away. If he had been there, he would have crushed Shanks in 0 time. He even hates the guy for putting the whole pirate idea in Luffy's head.

>You really think Luffy can handle rules & regulation?
He would do it as well as Garp does. See pic related.

>Garp has more wits about him than Luffy. Also punching villains & doing whatever he wants, is what he's doing now. Plus he isn't forced to play nice with the World Government, or the Shichibukai.
Pic related again.

The whole Shichibukai thing can be prevented by simply removing the Yonko's of the board. No big pirates that can destabilize the world and they're no longer needed since the Marines can be on charge again of hunting pirates before they grow too strong.

And for the World Government, we don't know what their whole deal is yet.

Bouncing off my own response here,
Hey, /jc/, I have two only slightly different questions here!

A) Have you ever "played along" with the tone of the plot, and still managed to screw up the story? Was it by accident or on purpose? How did that happen?

CONVERSELY,
B) Have you ever decided "this plot is dumb, I'm gonna do my own thing!", and just gone off and done "jumper things", and had those things completely derail the plot by themselves, even though that wasn't really your intention?

What happened?

While I was in Injustice, I made it a point to redeem many of the people on the Regime side to the point that they'd willingly give themselves up. Stocking up on redemption and charisma perks was necessary for this.

I had to start with Wonder Woman, because her dumb ass is part of the reason Superman went so extreme in that setting. Although I think she had fallen for me near the end due to harem perks... I'm still not sure whether or not I should waifu her or leave her to face the consequences of her actions.

>A) Have you ever "played along" with the tone of the plot, and still managed to screw up the story? Was it by accident or on purpose? How did that happen?

It happens more that I would like to admit in my early days on low-powered jumps. You get drunk, get on a car accident and manage to kill part of the main cast of your show. Of course, you being a Jumper are perfectly fine, but the whole resurrection business is always tricky, if you even want to do it.

>B) Have you ever decided "this plot is dumb, I'm gonna do my own thing!", and just gone off and done "jumper things", and had those things completely derail the plot by themselves, even though that wasn't really your intention?

Eh, not really. Usually doing my own thing means rent a building and spent most of the jump reading comics and watching TV. Occasionally going out and speed up the MC's training by acting as 'monster of the week' for them to train.

>Nechronica: 40K meets Nanoha

So, I was put in charge of this village of dolls right? You know how it goes, you start off just wanting to carve out a little piece of heaven for you and yours. Then you realise the pollution and raving abominations are getting in the way with that, so you decide you need some sort of militia.

Things start to go well, and we get a lot of immigrants. Then a tide of shambling horrors signeled the attention of a necromancer. After the initial casualty reports I'm drowning in more angry recruits then I can shake a stick at; we improved the terraformers and started broadcasting inspirational music to induce spontaneous training montages in the populace.

And before you know it, you're deep striking the continent with Dolls equipped with Sailor Scout ordinance.

>Elfen Lied: Identity Politics drama

I knew leaking the diclonius experiments to the public would've had an outcry, but even I didn't expect Faecbook alone to indict Director Kakuzawa. #DicloniusLivesMatter trended so quickly it took while for the human antipathy thing to actually be recognised as a psychology factor instead of overprivileged human xenophobia.

Also, Lucy released a record-breaking pop album! It took a lot of convincing and she was still really camera shy-especially around her young diclonius fanbase. By day I was her record manager, and by night we visited her former captors' jail cells to go nyer-nyer-nyer at them.

>Infernals: The Hallmark Christmas Movie

So there Szoreny was-all properly dug up, righted and reflecting Ligier's light while the Green Sun perched on top of him. The skies rained Hegran frost that induced childish joy in the demons below. All of Cecelyne's priests wore little red hats and drove sleds through the streets of Malfeas.

There was also a lot of devastation from the confused but merrily carolling Yozis, but nothing the christmas spirit couldn't fix.

Delve in Madness is the most confusing one.

Although this line in Endless Lore:
>you will find your mind filled with thoughts of the foes you may face.

Could use some extra wording.

Okay, current fixes:
Notes section has added:
>Normally when you fuck up using a psychic ability, cthulhu (or a minion of his) notices and the ability fails to work. Delve in Madness means that they doesn’t notice, the ability just fails to work. It also hides you from those beings even when you don’t mess up using psionics, so, stealth up against eldritch abominations, I guess.

as an explanation of to Delve in Madness, and Endless Lore has replaced that line with

>you will find your mind filled with lore pertaining to the foes you may face.

Hopefully it's clearer?

Fuck, it looks good. Not Ufotable level hype for sure but still more then I honestly expected for the anime.

When the visual novel is finally translated and released in about a month, a month and a half, I'll start on it. Not even kidding, preparing for that is why I've forced myself to not work on anything but my claims, even minor side things. If only my keyboard didn't break AGAIN I'd have another two jumps out by now.
>>
>>52342547
I mean. It's GURPS? So as powerful as the GM wants to make it? Generally though, think mid-level D&D, since that's the thematics it's drawing from.

I don't think Cthulhu has ever been statted in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy (Him showing up is he shows up, everyone makes a Fear check, then he goes away, IIRC), so no idea about that one, but due to how the system works, allied demons are usually about as strong as you are, +/- 50%. Because, you know, GURPS.

>>52342583
Sure, I'll go ahead and and add races when I have time (I'm about to be smacked in the face by three essays and a couple finals coming up, so no promises for how long I have to spend on this, and writing race descriptions is /really/ boring). But I'm pretty sure that Demons are one of the races? Or half-demons at least.

I usually don't. At least, not purely just to fuck everything up for the sake of messing things up. Although the Coordinator basically turned Ring of Red into a Harem Anime because it amused him. And I went along with it because, if anything was going to make fighting a war more bearable, it's Harem antics.

>>52342233

Strike Witches. I played along with the tone, was the little girl, engaged in silly antics about bugs in sensitive places and panties being stolen, but by the end I really managed to screw up the plot. Mostly because I could /NOT/ stop tinkering with my Striker Unit and weaponry. See, I too the drawback that limits you to WW2 technology. But I had previously been to Ring of Red, which is alternate WW2 tech, so of course I immediately start incorporating most of what I learned there into my Striker Unit.

In the end, my Unit was several times larger than any currently in use and I was hauling around a clip-loaded full tank cannon for weaponry. The ended up creating a whole new classification of Striker Unit just to fit me into, Destroyer Class. Because of this, I ended up spending the last four years grounded and teaching others how to use and make this technology, which suuuuuuucked.

>B
That basically described all of my time in Archer. I set up a competing intelligence agency, viciously cheated with magic to know things no spy agency really should, shut down ISIS and ODIN due to just being better at everything, kicked Archer in the nuts, hired pretty much everybody from ISIS except for Cheryl and Archer, kicked Archer in the nuts again, paid Cheryl to become a country music star just so she would stop coming into our building... and lots of other things I can only half remember because of whatever Kreger was lacing my coffee with at the time.

Anyways, all the plot gets entirely derailed. Literally all of it.

>A)

I tried to be a responsible big brother in Panty & Stocking. I did my angel job going around hoovering ghosts and such. I actually got along pretty well with the demons because I naturally followed most of the ruurs anyway.

Then-SOMETHING happened that lasted a few months, and turned most of the city buildings into spirals.

It was as if every Gainax work suddenly tried to exist at the same time.

I woke up in a sauna full of chocolate being licked clean by my sisters. Someone had handcuffed an Scanty and Kneesocks to each of my hands, and they were both drunk. It quickly became apparent we were in a space station falling to Earth. Which was a giant donut. To this day, nobody can quite agree how we ended up there.

All I know is the last thing you ever want to hear from your sisters is "Last night was PERFECT".

>B)

In 8-Bit Theater me and my companions set out to stop the Light Warriors from-well, doing anything basically. Conventional force quickly proved ineffective to their bullshit so we ended up pulling weaponised, deadly pranks on them to finish them of.

Morathi lured Fighter into a van full of swords, and gave him candy instead before shooting him in the face.

Thief stole all the traps we set for them, and tried to ransom them on the black market once he realised the fine print made him liable to debts from across the multiverse. Then Medea remotely detonated the traps.

After an intense animal husbandry duel, I had a long argument with Red Mage that he logically shouldn't exist anymore, and he agreed after I convinced him nonexistence would give him stat advantages. Right before he disappeared, he freaked out when I reminded him under the current edition nonexistence was defined as a permanent effect rather than a status debuff.

There was nothing fancy when it came to Black Mage, though. Elodie just beat him unconscious, cuffed him with magic jamming manacles and hauled him off to jail.

>>52342379
Looks good so far but-is it set in any particular D&D setting? I get that dungeons seem to be a major focus, but what's the world in general like? Or will that be added to the intro later?
>>
>>52342664
It's... uh, it's GURPS Dungeon Fantasy. There's a town. There's wilderness around it. There are dungeons filled with monsters. You go into the dungeons, occasionally passing wilderness on the way, you kill the monsters, and you drag their loot back into town to sell for gold with which you buy equipment to repeat the process. It's basically Generic D&D. Except GURPS.

Teach Scion to paint. It worked for me.

Seriously, he's an old widower going through a crisis because he lost his job and his wife. He needs a hobby, and saving a species he doesn't care about isn't cutting it.

Oh, and get Eidolon psychotherapy. He doesn't need worthy opponents, he's already a fantastic hero.
>>
>>52342599
>Dies Irae jump becoming a reality

Is this real life?

Speaking of the anime, I wonder how much will they skip. The VN is long as fuck and I doubt most of the main plot can fit in a single cour.
>>
>>52342741
Well, Eidolon's problem isn't just some inadequacy complex. It's that he worries that he won't be strong enough to face down Scion when the time comes, and his desire for worthy opponents is him wanting to train. He can feel that whenever he's at an Endbringer fight, he's a lot stronger, and since he's part of Cauldron and knows about the conflict drive that shards have, he figures that's his powers reacting to a tough fight. His hope is that he'll be able to break through the limit some day and regain his old strength and then some. What's actually happening is that his shard is refueling by being near a bunch of other parahumans dying. Psychotherapy will be important to keep him from being broken when Scion tells him the truth, but to get the Endbringers to stop he needs to know how to actually recharge his powers.
>>
>>52342713
>What kind of tank cannon?
Specifically it was the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48.

I would have loved to use the larger barrels from the four legged AFWs, but I only came out of Ring of Red with one AFW hanger attached to my warehouse, which I ended up storing Captain Beverly's "Oleander" in for sentimental reasons.

And since this was before I started equipping my warehouse with spacial compressing storage cubes, I had limited space to store other AFWs, even in pieces.

>kicked Archer in the nuts
Admittedly, I did do this a lot more often than I stated. I just thought listing it half a dozen times would get annoying to read.

I had the same thought though, that it would make a fun running gag.
>>
>>52342793
Pretty sure they're going to do an abbreviated version of one route, maybe if they go for a twenty four episode run we can get a full route?

Worst case scenario, Fate Stay Deen happens again and we can all enjoy the frankenstein of every route smashed together.
>>

If you don't mind me asking, how are the Noblesse and F/GO jumps going?
>>
>>52342908
Noblesse should be done in one-two days, if I can get a keyboard tomorrow. Only a couple items and drawback descriptions left for it. Would have been finished day before yesterday if not for the current breakage.

GO is not going to be done anytime soon. Don't even believe it'll be done in the coming month, maybe the one after, though that's mostly because I actually do need to focus on classwork soon and GO is just hard, long and difficult to fully handle, so it'd take me a while even without lots of stuff taking up my time.

>>52343023
There's always Dragon. All her complete shit moments are because she can't obey orders by legal authorities.
>>
>>52343138
Yes. They're people who were handed enormous power and willingly chose to place severe checks on that power for the sake of if not necessarily helping the rest of humanity, at least avoiding frightening them. They fight to protect the world, and if they're failing that doesn't mean they're wrong for trying. The Protectorate are the good guys, Taylor is just incredibly biased because she's a stupid teenager who refuses to acknowledge that she's a stupid teenager, so when she does bad things and it backfires on her it's obviously the fault of corrupt adults with their awful institutions that ruin everything for decent people.
>>
>>52343090
That's a terribly picture of Weld. He is supposed to look good, like an Adonis, not like someone used metallic paint on a vaguely amused monkey.

>>
>>52341849
Sure?
>>
>>52343023
It really depends on what you mean by not total shit, but.

We don't see too much of her but Narwhal probably is too. She got to know Taylor well enough to share book recommendations apparently. Dragon definitely is, considering the constraints she's operating under. And Chevalier's the closest thing they've got to Batman. DCAU Batman, that is. And Ms. Mitilia is their Captain America. Assault's pretty cool for a former villain.

Faultline and her crew are pretty chill and tight with each other for a band of mercs, even though they're presented as rivals to Tattletale. Which means a lot considering two are effectively special needs cases.

Outside the total, irredeemable that is Shadow Stalker the Wards are generally pretty cool. Especially Flechette. The funny thing is, it's implied Gallant was especially nice because his Shard indirectly compelled him to be a cool guy by giving him supernatural empathy.

Hero seemed like a...hero from what little we know of him. Half the Triumvirate at least took his death poorly.

Eh, it's not totally broken. It's actually relatively minor. A bunch of keys have become sorta unresponsive, last time it fixed itself but this time it's just bad all round. Pretty much all the number keys, backspace/enter and varying letter keys on the lower lines now need me to hold them for a few seconds in certain ways that change to work...except when they work normally? What you can do is probably a lot harder than altering your own body to make yourself look like someone else. Looking like a specific someone else tends to be something people use polyjuice for though and I can only guess that's because while you can change your facial features easily enough it'd be difficult to get the features exactly right with magic.

It's probably like the difference between drawing a portrait of someone specific and drawing a portrait of any face you can imagine in that it's more about attention to detail than how well you put pencil to paper. Point is you'd need to have an eye for it.

It's not specific to WFRR, various Looney Tunes, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, etc..
All had a similar theme of cartoon-characters-mixing with real-life humans with the "toons" being the "actors". The first instance of that was actually a black and white cartoon/film which featured Porky Pig and Daffy Duck quitting Warner Brothers and trying to find work in the real world. Before that, there were other cases of mix-media films/cartoons.

Fantastic Beasts Doxies are weirdly cute, and Runespoors are great fun with Parselmouths.
>>
>>52343882

>>
>>52343916
No, please remove the drawback based on future jumps. Also, please remove references to WFRR as well, it's a bit rude to have stuff based on that when we already have a jump of it and your one is already dubious.

Well the dung beetles we don't seem to have an appropriate in-setting name for and the marmite is called a marmite (and we know very little about either). Doxies could have gone in though, Grindylows too given they're at least seen.

The real reason though is that I had to individually printscreen some of the beasts and got really sick of doing it so I mostly limited the beasts on offer to creatures that are in the movie and are seen actually doing something.

There's no need to strip them out. Each of those have been in similar cartoon worlds before.

Hell, the Portable Hole is a classic from the Road Runner days. Admittedly, the Toon Gun and Bullets is a little bit harder to think of an example off the top of my head, but I'm sure there was one.

You're not impinging enough that it's worth stripping out content for.

Depends on the setting.

Most of the time my Jumper is pretty chill, but put him into a setting he absolutely despises and he'll go MAXIMUM EDGELORD just to spite everyone in that universe.

Such as Marvel Comics. I went full supervillain just to torment all the heroes.

Hm. Fair enough, I suppose. Just seemed odd, since they were seen as much or more than some of the others like the Fwooper.

If you ever decide to update it, I'd love for Doxies and Grindylows to be in there. And I'll just hope that a sequel shows off more cool beasties (especially Marmites and Runespoors, even if I'm not sure what's magic about them. Aside from the glowing and extra heads, I guess. Or dragons. Dragons would be amazing too).

Sorry anon! But 70% of my builds are all just me doing retarded things for shits and giggles, and I gimp just about everything I do.
It doesn't even matter if I win or not. In my head I actually half-ass things enough that any protagonist in any given jump always has a chance to thwart me. As long as I don't actually die, I don't care if I lose. And if I accidentally overshoot their skill level I actually dial it back a bit to give them a handicap.
I like to hover around Dr Robotnik cartoon villainy threat levels.

Oh, and the remaining 30% is needless emotional drama.

I really thought about buying a Nundu as a Zoologist and then keeping it as a snuggly pet because I'm immune to disease and poisons, but then I decided I didn't want to keep track of a bunch of pets for the rest of my chain.
I mean, I already have so much trouble just keeping track of perks, I don't want to end up having a bunch of dead pets laying around because I forgot to feed them for a thousand years.
And all I really wanted was the 400CP perk.

So then I figured I'd be an auror because then I'm someone who used to be kindof a bigshot before she turned rogue, y'know, instead of just some random dipshit. Comes with a thumbprint on society.
And then I'd teleport between countries just conjuring up hordes of goats and shit to try and show muggles magic exists, while the wizard equivilant of Interpol chases after me, presumably while Benny Hill music plays.

If Mardukth is around... what do you think a Bard of Blood could do?

All the Classpect analyses I could find on it focused mostly on what a Bard of Blood would be like and how they could grow (or backslide) as a person which... made it incredibly appropriate for me.

But none of it actually gave any ideas for what abilities one'd have.

[Prologue: Earth Prime]
"Do you think if a human life is more interesting, it has more value?"

That was a weird question from a lady in a coffee shop. I couldn't quite remember her name or what I was doing there, but I felt compelled to sit down and talk to her. I blinked. "Like, more value to them or to those around them?" I asked, humoring her.

"Objectively. If someone is a terrible person, but is completely fascinating to watch and hear about, does that make them more or less valuable as an individual?" She asked, tilting her head quizzically like a cat. Something about her didn't feel right. The odd way her head moved, the way her eyes stared unblinkingly, but she seemed so enchanting that I couldn't avert my eyes or walk away. What was this?

Again, I answered honestly, without thinking about it. "I think it'd be more about their actions than who they were, at that point. I mean, actions speak louder than words, don't they?"

She just smiled and said nothing. The way she looked at me was unsettling, like a tiger waiting to jump for its kill. Still, my muscles didn't respond. I couldn't move. Was I dreaming? Was this a nightmare? Everything was so surreal, and I couldn't remember what I was doing here-

"I already knew the answer. It's just nice to see what the smaller ones think. It's never quite the same as just reading it myself or making you parrot back what I'm saying. This has a chaos to it. A charm."

Unable to do much else, I just nodded absentmindedly.
>>
>>52344978
"Would you like to test that theory?"

Test what?

"Your value as a person. I can make you the most interesting person in this world and beyond. All you need to do is be entertaining enough for me to watch. And I'll warn you - I get bored easily. But work with me, and I'll make your life shine like a brilliant star. How about it?"

Of course I said yes.

Even if I had known the consequences at the time, even if I was in control of myself, I would have said yes. That's the sort of people she looks for - the ones with nothing to look forward to, nothing to lose. So you can be somebody. So you can be interesting. So you can have value.

So where did I fit?

I guess that's up to you.

It may not be the best, but the Kirby series has some surprisingly capable tech if you're willing to leave the relative safety of Pop Star to go find it.
Just what's shown in the actual games is pretty cool enough, but pretty much all of it is being used by the antagonists, so it ends up getting wrecked by Kirby.

Yeah, abilities tend not to be a focus in most Classpect analyses. Here's my thoughts on it (just suggestions and personal ideas as always):

Bard of Blood would would allow the destruction of Blood, or invite destruction through Blood... Bard's a bit of a weird class. Anyway, Blood's associated with Leadership, Relationships, and Unity.

So, you'd passively cause relationships to break up around you, unity to be lost, and leaders to be abandoned. You wouldn't necessarily affect emotions (that's Heart or Rage), but people would stop working together and do their own thing, instead of listening to their leader.

Someone rallies together an army for a revolution, and your influence just causes it dissolve and fall apart. On the other hand, you could allow a rebellion to form, not by rallying people yourself, but by destroying the unity of the nation/organization you destroy. Have the kingdom of Derse go through riots and revolution for example.

It'd also work for more personal 1-to-1 relationships like marriages or friendship of course.

It seems to have /some/ connection to great causes/goals (what with the Blood imagery when WV does his rebellion), so you might also be able to influence people to abandon their ideals?

Inviting destruction through Blood seems more likely to be benevolent, allowing you to destroy your enemies by 'inviting' your allies to work together (like facilitating teamwork with your fellow Players in Sburb itself, or others elsewhere).

You'd likely be damn good at setting up combo attacks, though more focussed on the support/enabling role in those.

But that could be turned lethal too. Consider how blind obedience to a group's leader could make sure that any mistakes, no matter how big, wouldn't get pointed out. Especially devestating if you make sure their leader isn't actually good at his job.

And that's all I can think of for now. Seems a bit of a manipulator class? Bard are always weird for me.
>>
>>52345730
I remember him saying a couple days ago that he's working on a DLC.
>>
>>52345694
Most likely not since such things weren't referenced and that's the second time it's happened. The trip was a complete failure since the energy needed to migrate to the new planet is gone and the planet they were going to was unable to support them since the scouting squad were said to have died of, mostly.

No problem, happy to help.

Incidentially, this:
>Liable to get me killed considering the teammates I'm currently thinking on if I don't get a good hold of my powers
Seems to fit well with the Bard class' description of single-handedly being a wild card that, in the extreme cases, can be single-handedly responsible for their party's massive downfall, their improbable victory, or sometimes even both.

That doesn't really answer the question, does the perk allow you to do other forms of self transfiguration as safely/easily as turning parts of yourself into animal parts?

Like turning yourself into a chair or (not necessarily accurately) into someone else. I imagine that might be why Hermione used a polyjuice potion to become Bellatrix while Ron was just turned into a random other appearance with a spell.

There was no ceremony behind the 'jump' to another world. I just snap awake, as though I was dreaming, with saltwater splashing against my face and into my nose, making me cough and sneeze as I struggled to find shore. I was on a beach of some kind, shivering from my clothes getting wet. My…clothes. They were a little bit different from when I was in the coffee shop. I glanced into the reflection in the water and saw a young Japanese man staring back at me. I touched my face, and the reflection did the same.

>"Consider this the bare minimum I've done to settle you in."

Her voice rings in my head, and I rapidly put two and two together. I had been changed and taken somewhere - another country, another world? It was both, as I'd discover as I wandered towards town - kanji and the locales quickly tipped me off as to where I was. Even stranger, I could read it just as easily as a local could, even though it gave me a headache the first few times.

My wonder, confusion, and alarm gave way to the sound of my stomach growling. I hadn't eaten anything and really needed food. I then realized I was broke and had no one to really go to for things to eat. I ended up stumbling through a lot of the city I ended up in until I managed to win the pity of some folks in a café, giving me a meal on the house - I had to work it off, though. Apparently, I seemed dim-witted to them in the endearing way, even though I wasn't sure I did anything to warrant that response. I made small talk and got to know them - the waitress was named Kikue, the manager was named Kanji. I asked if I could stay if I worked hard enough - didn't really take, unfortunately, and soon I was on my way again.

Whatever possessed me to go along with this, I was considering it a worse and worse idea. A few weird things happened - like me finding a motorcycle in the middle of nowhere that had a full tank of gas and the keys still in it, before awkwardly attempting to ride around on it. I had never driven one before outside of video games, so, uh…I hurt myself more than once. Thankfully not at high speeds, but my body somehow felt tougher than before. Like I could take more than one crash. Not something I really wanted to test.

Then, I suddenly got warning of danger: Someone was going to die. Someone was dying. I felt afraid, and I hesitated. My first instinct was to run away, but…if I could do something, isn't that something I'll regret? I steadied myself and then forced myself to run to the scene. I then saw it: A monster with many eyes and a spider's web snapping the necks of several police officers. Then it turned to face me.

>>52346268
I didn't realize where I was until a bit later, but seeing a Grongi up close and 'real', without the fake costumes or the terrible special effects, is a moment of terror I will not soon forget. Any courage I had faded away and I quickly began to retreat, only for a web to grab me off of the Trychaser and drag me back. I panicked. I screamed. I tried to break free, but the web was too strong…

For a few minutes. Right before I snapped the webs off. As I stood up, I realized my body had changed to a sickly green, insectoid form…disgusting to look at, but I felt - powerful-. Stronger. Like I stood a chance. My voice came out as a guttural growl. I slammed myself into the spider monster and it collided with a wall, slamming through the brick as though it were wet paper.

I felt triumphant, up until the moment it got back up. The thing crossed its finger over its own neck, as if to signal a challenge. Feeling just as monstrous and powerful as I did before, I began to fight. I was clumsy, but I didn't need to be skilled - I was strong enough to knock the monster off of its feet, but it was strong enough to do the same to me in turn. I felt pain, but I felt like I could keep fighting. It might have gone on forever until the sound of sirens approaching interrupted the fight, and it leapt off into the distance. The police approached and drew their pistols. As my will to fight disappeared, so did my new form.

Right in front of them.

Hastily, I raised my hands in surrender. I was soon in handcuffs - among other things. Seems they didn't want to take any chances.

[More coming in a bit.]

Cats, that still isn't an answer to the question. The examples are just examples, not what I am really asking about.

Human Transfiguration, and especially self transfiguration is dangerous. Anyone who has completed their magical education would be capable of both to some degree but what I am asking is if the part of the self transfiguration perk that makes it easy and more importantly safe to preform also applies to self transfiguration other than partial animal transformations?

mainly cause they are not afraid to straight up murder people onscreen in rather painful-looking ways, like that one grongi that dropped needles from above that pierced from the top of your head through your heart and embedding into the concrete below via your foot

I doubt it, because this guy is a SBer himself, he should know about the SB jump, unless he's trying to push for Cities to get approved here. He just posted the exact same line over on SB.
>>
>>52346752
For a WIP it was jumpable. It just was never approved to get into the drive and the jumpmaker never bothered arguing for it.
>>
Hi, everyone.

I am currently working on a Charmed jump. I was wondering what the thread would like to see in it.

I have been working hard to try and get a decent power section for the jump ironed out. Making a Unified Theory of Charmed is as frustrating as it sounds.

Hopefully not too many people will be after my blood for making an abomination of a jump over a beloved franchise.

So, whatever you guys would like, just let me know and I'll try to work in as much as I can.
>>
So I will likely add an addendum on how the Companion's fate is up to you depending on how your jump goes, but how does this drawback read?

Felsoul Pawn (+??? - Requires Companion(s)): Kil’jaedan’s tongue spins many false promises and grand lies, and yet there are those individuals who have fallen for them since time immemorial. And unfortunately, it appears as if one of your own has let his honeyed words into their head. Heartbreak is in your future, adventurer.

One of your companions has sided with the Burning Legion, and with it they have brought their knowledge and skill. The Legion knows you now, and their invasion will occur within the first year. The mo’arg and gan’arg work tirelessly to outfit their forces with what your friend brought to their side. The shivarra and felsworn will twist their newly-gained knowledge to nefarious uses. Azeroth faces a different Legion now, and to say they are sorely unprepared is an understatement.

What caused them to sway so easily?

I was interrogated. How I transformed, what I was doing, if I was the one who assaulted and murdered the officers. The lack of records about me didn't help matters, or the fact I had acquired experimental police equipment that there shouldn't be another copy of. There also weren't any witnesses at the scene to testify on my behalf, so it was my word against several dead cops. My pleading looked like I was falling on deaf ears, and I was soon locked in a maximum security cell.

My situation was both confusing and hopeless until Kaoru Ichijo arrived to question me. It was only then that my memory jogged and I realized where I was, and what I had transformed into prior. I answered as honestly as I could, and while he was sympathetic to me, I was still going to be locked up. Desperate, I name-dropped Kuuga and said that I could help, but only if they let me. With how many casualties the police were suffering and Ichijo's work with Godai still off-the-record, that was just enough to convince him.

Soon, I got the nickname of 'Mad Dog', Unidentified Life Form No.5' - something the police called in as a defensive measure. I transformed into a monster and fought the Grongi until Kuuga arrived or a retreat was called. My memories of the events of this world were scattered and didn't seem to play out in the exact way I remembered - I was too busy alternating between a prison cell and a battlefield. It definitely doesn't feel as badass when you're the one being used as a weaponized jack-in-the-box. My sentence was made lighter for cooperation, and my cell began to feel less like a cell and more like a low-budget hotel room.
>>
>>52346863
Is Billie Piper's power going to be an (appropriately expensive) option?
>>
>>52346871
Too easily powergamed.
>>
>>52346885
I later learned Godai had insisted I get lighter treatment, since I had saved both his and others' lives. I didn't actually meet the man behind the costume face-to-face proper until Ichijo brought him in for a visit. Meeting one of your personal heroes in the flesh, giving you a thumbs up and telling you not to give up, and to do your best…it sounds so cheesy here, but it was something I desperately needed.

I didn't discover the light of Agito until I my insectoid form finally became insufficient, and I tried to reach inside for some kind of greater power, some way to turn the tide…and I did. The Agito Driver materialized around my waist, and I did my first proper henshin into a true Kamen Rider. I took me a few tries to get the Rider Kick right - I had no experience beyond what messy skirmishes I got in battle. I felt pretty good about it, even as I made the Grongi explode from the impact.

I felt a mix of pride and horror at my own growing power - but I didn't have time to contemplate if I was happy about it, because lives needed to be saved and I wasn't going to spend the rest of my life in a prison cell. Turns out my fears were unfounded - my sentence had been lifted, and I was 'off the record' like Godai was after a point. Still had no home or food - I had to ask for help on that front, along with getting some kind of proper citizenship. Paperwork in Japanese is somehow even more boring than paperwork in English.

Ironically, my involvement in the Agito incident just consisted of people interrogating me on the powers of my belt and then leaving me alone - I made it clear I wanted to retire and figure out if there was some kind of way home for me. Not that I mentioned the second part out loud.

Then, as the second year ended, everything…became a blur.

I wasn't out of the fire yet.

I wouldn't be for a very, very long time.

How was that, folks?
>>
>>52346895
I take it your referring to Projection (Reality Warping), then yes, very much yes.

I might lower the price from all the CP, if I can find a way to reasonably nerf it so I am not basically giving omnipotence away.
>>
>>52346921
I thought it was pretty cool, though I feel bad for your jumper. Especially since he has no idea that the ride is nowhere near over.
>>
>>52346788
Yes I asked here and on SB because I didn't remember where I saw it.
>>
>>52346922
As I recall, hers was actually extremely limited in scope and power and extremely draining compared to other users of similar powers. It was nowhere near omnipotence and was actually a lot weaker than the Charmed Ones casting a spell in unison.
>>
>>52346912
...

Well I mean thank you but all that's telling me is "the drawback's not worth adding."

Anyone else?
>>
>>52346871
Is it random, or one of your choice? Do they just go for whoever makes the most sense?
>>
>>52347266
Whoever makes the most sense otherwise.

Would it be better if I put it on a d8 out of a selection?
>>
>>52346871
>>52347253
...okay, I'm going to be honest: I've read over the drawback several times and for the life of me I don't know what the heck that guy is smoking.

Drawback seems fine, anywhere between 200-300 CP depending on excatly how great the tactical advantage gained is

>>52347274
I would advise against a d8 though, in case it lands on your adorable imouto when there is a perfectly treacherous evil chancellor wizard in your party
>>
>>52342599
Wait, someone is actually translating the novel?
>>
>>52347286
Well I'm guessing from his Point-of-View, you could just throw, say... a goblin from Warhammer Fantasy into that drawback's position and come out of it with essentially free points, depending on his definition of "powergaming."

Anywho, thanks for the input. I'm gonna reword it to mention Kil'jaedan's favored kind of targets although if we're being honest, he would totes be the type to try and twist your imouto against you. Look at Velen's reaction to his son's death.
>>
Okay, lets say I account for Sauron's flaws in his Ring.
>>
>>52347360
Huh. Not sure if that even would be interjump balance but I hadn't even thought of that. Oh well, up to you I guess.

Goes for the spoiler too, I'll admit. I mostly remember him working with evil wizards.

>>52347388
You realise it's more trouble than it's worth, and/or advise Gandalf to use the goddamn eagles by carrying Frodo HOLDING the ring so neither gets totally corrupted enough to not be shoved into the volcano. Smart man.
>>
>>52347103
Projection is basically a swiss-army knife power. It can do, at least in theory, what any other power can do.

So, yes, omnipotence was a bit of an exaggeration, but I have to consider carefully whether or not to offer it, because there is a real risk that including it would make for a 'one true build' situation where no-one would want to get anything else, because it is so useful and versatile.

Even if it is a strain to imitate a power through Projection rather than buying that power, the strain is something a jumper could easily handwave away with the right purchases.

I don't want to remove it, but I do feel that it needs careful treatment. That said, I am open to other opinions. Do you think it would be better to remove it from the jump?
>>
>>52346921
Disappointed that you're going for the "Sadistic Benefactor" yet again. Really, when a nigh-omnipotent cosmic being is explicitly evil, it raises a lot of questions and eventual bullshit is a forgone conclusion. I feel like you should be able to create drama without relying on cheap diabolus ex machina, though even if you wanted to go that route, there are much less overt ways of accomplishing it. Frankly, it just cheapens everything and makes them seem childish and simplistic.
>>
>>52346921
>>
>>52347422
Nah, it's neat and it's not like it's something that can't be imitated or outdone by most decent magic systems. So just make its limits and the fact that it'll never outdo another power at that power's speciality and that it's not something you can just spam without a ton of magical energy to throw aorund, then price it appropriately.

Also, something just occurred to me. Don't know if you'll want to or be able to us with at all, but how about something based on... shit, I can't remember the characters or the plots exactly. It's been a long damn time since I watched the show. But anyway, that kid who brought magic back after it vanished or something? A perk that lets you bring magic into a world without it?
>>
>>52347422
>with the right purchases.

This is a non-issue if the purchaces you talk about are outside the Jump. This is because we balance a Jump only within itself, thus if a power is balnced inside the setting due to power costs then it's fine to offer it. Doing otherwise is and example of interjump balancing and thus should not be considered in offering the power or not.
>>
How dangerous would Remember Me be for a doctor without out-of-jump memories? There are terrorists mentioned in the document, but would they actually attack me?

No. Time travel & time clones are part of the Speedforce's weirdness. Its unconnected to concept of linear time.

I'm gonna update it to allow minor time travel (few hours backwards) & time clones. Doing it too many times inbetween breaks will cause timeline to break, ending your chain. So you can't pull a Zoom, kill your time clone over & over. You can pull a Barry once in awhile. Going too far back will change stuff drastically, breaking the timeline, ending your chain. Which is why it'll be limited to few hours backwards. I know he can go forward. It was by accident. I might make this coat extra because its already adding goodies on top of an already great powerset.

Arrowverse Jump will be updated after CW shows end for the season. I don't think it'll get too major of an update. Then I'll be doing Supergirl.

Bouncing few ideas off, I was thinking.

Drop-In idk what to base this off of, maybe the daxamite. He's a party going, culturally ignorant, perfect "drop-in".
Alien Hunter - Based on Kara's sister, I know she doesn't hunt aliens but polices them.
Reporter - Based on Kara.
Business Mogul - Based on Lexi Luthor & Cat Grant.
Scientist - Based on the tech (I forget his name).

Races will be Human, "Alien", Kryptonian/Daxamite, & Green/White Martian.

Kryptonian & Martians are gonna cost a lot. You won't get full suite of their powers right off the bat. For Kryptonians/Daxamites it'll be about Mon-El's level. He's strong but not Kara strong. He's as durable but doesn't bounce back as fast. No flight, heat beams, or frost breath. You will develop those the more sunlight you take in.

Martians will have trouble coordinating shapeshifting, self density manipulation, Telepathy & TK together. As you're young by your races standard, but like Kryptonian/Daxamite you'll be fully functioning probably around year 7-8 w/o any help/learning perks. You'll cap at J'onn & Superman's level. That will take awhile but again learning perks help.
>>
>>52346648
Agito, too. Less so, since we usually see the Lords after they've killed someone, but the weird places the police find the bodies ("Christ, how did he get halfway through a wall?!") makes up for it. Though at least with G3 they can finally fight back without help from ancient magic.
>>
>>52347867
Why not just allow time travel post jump? Time travel isn't that big a deal at this point and this version isn't particularly good; time wraiths and flashpoints and Savitars oh my!
>>
>>52347939
>Why not just allow omnipotence post jump? Omnipotence isn't that big a deal at this point and this version isn't particularly good.
Just saying something doesn't make it true, anon. Since when has time-travel not been that big a deal?
>>
>>52347867
If you choose to start in 2012 and buy metahuman powers, do you start with them or do you have to wait until the accelerator explosion? Also, what happens if you were to prevent that from happening (such as if you used out of context, or maybe even in-context timetravel to send Eobard back to his time period before the explosion, or just let him find out that you had that ability before the explosion )?
>>
>>52347867
>No. Time travel & time clones are part of the Speedforce's weirdness. Its unconnected to concept of linear time.
I know that, but that's the excuse you used for why you couldn't do that post-jump.
>>
>>52348010
>Since when has time-travel not been that big a deal?
Since there are so many ways to get it.
>>
>>52348024
You start with them. Unless you're on the island with Oliver in beginning. If you prevent explosion from happening, eventually someone will build one & it'll explode. Same thing has happened in every universe.

Also sending Eobard to his own timeline will reconnect him with speedforce again. Reason why he wasn't connected was because he travelled back in time, changed things drastically, or something like that. Sorta like how Barry was weakened in Flashpoint & was losing his powers.

>>52348088
Then other with those. I'm not comfortable in allowing unlimited time travel. Not even with the Waverider.
>>
>>52348088
I don't give two shits about time travel, but you're argument is literally founded on interjump balance. That's like saying just because mages can nuke continents in Negima, the Sherlock Holmes jump should have an option to be a archmage.
>>
>>52348123
Real talk here, I would totally read a book about Sherlock Holmes: Wizard Detective.
>>
>>52348152
That would be pretty fun.

>>52348107
Bother*
>>
>>52348123
Eh, not that anon, but if archmages were a thing inn Sherlock Holmes, then that might be okay. They're not, and this is restricting a canon use of an ability that has been shown in-universe. Also, while no inter-jump balance makes sense for available purchases, how does it make sense for restrictions? Why would jump-chan bar something to you that she allows you to obtain through multiple other paths? It just doesn't make sense.
>>
>>52343633
Could you update the ability to import existing items into bought CP items to be a blanked statement in this or later jumps. There are some existing capes cloaks (like Sword and Sorcery's Wanders Cloak) it would be nice to import into the Invisibility Cloak as an example. Or importing the Skyrim Knapsack into the Fantastic Beasts Case (or vice versa) so edible cooking ingredients spawn in the habitats daily. And importing an existing Magical Crown into the Aetherial Crown.

>>52345214
>Each companion gets 500 CP of Skills and Abilities
I know you don't allow companions to buy Items, but could you make an exception for Companions who take Spell Maker to let them buy the Spell Alter? It is a 300/600 CP capstone that is useless without one.

>>52345609
You have Green Dreams and Warg as separate abilities in different backgrounds, but I think one is a higher level of the other.
Maybe taking one makes the other discounted?
>>
>>52347867
How strong are Supergirl and Superman in that show anyway?
>>
>>52348152
You'd probably like the Johannes Cabal series of books.
>>
>>52348107
Fair enough, I disagree but it is your jump.

>>52348123
>I don't give two shits about time travel, but you're argument is literally founded on interjump balance.
Actually banning post jump it is the interjump balance; it exists in the setting, is available in the setting, but is banned post jump to balance it against other jumps.

>That's like saying just because mages can nuke continents in Negima, the Sherlock Holmes jump should have an option to be a archmage.
No, it is like saying that since mages can nuke continents in Negima a jumper should be able to do the same with that magic regardless of the fact that it is impossible for people to do the same in a setting like Sherlock Holmes.
>>
>>52348165
From what I gather about the restrictions they have something to do with how Flash time travel is about some sort of weird energy field called the Speedforce interacting with fractures in space-time. So just the fact that you keep the normal super speed's already a boon, because there's no reason for it to work outside of its' universe like how there's no warp outside of 40K, or like how you can continue to awaken spirits using Codex Alera's magic.
>>
>>52348123
In canon the Speedforce is tied to time travel and is used as a plot point. The only reason that it's being blocked out is because the jumpmaker isn't comfortable with the canon material. So your example is stretching it by quite a bit, when it's the jumpmaker who is tampering with the canon in this case.
>>
>>52348184
I shall give them a look, thank you.
>>
>>52348236
>it exists in the setting

As I said, based on what I understand about how time travel works there the issue is more the difference between being able to cast a fireball and carrying around the magical elemental plane of fireballs with you wherever you go.

I disagree with that analogy, because said magic nuke is powered by your own mojo.
>>
There's an omnipotent God in several jumps.

How come their CP purchases don't reflect this?
>>
>>52348275
Well, for the third time and by all means correct me if my understand's off base-what I recall is that the time travel works because of the machine's disruption did to allow the Speed Force to do that. So "merely" retaining super speed outside of the jump is still an upside when you'd normally be out of range of the speed force.

>>52348289
You, on the other hand, clearly love the taste of cock.
>>
>>52348242
>>52348282
Anon. . . buying access to the speedforce means you have access to the speedforce. The Jumpmaker is restricting a key part of that access post jump for interjump balance reasons.

He has every right to do so if he wants but lets call it what it is.
>>
>>52348180
J'onn, Kara, & Supes are among the strongest beings in their universe. Perhaps even all of the Multiverse.

>All Kryptonians are known to possess the ability to lift and press an indeterminate amount of weight with similar force, sometimes with little to no effort. With their bare hands, they are able to break stone and metal with their bare hands, to stop moving vehicles, or to send objects and people flying through the air. They can also apply this strength into combat as well, allowing them to easily overpower and restrain people, to break bones with one hand, and to injure or kill humans, as well as some aliens, with as little as one strike. However, a Kryptonian still must physically exert themselves when using their strength to lift, push, or pull objects or structures that are far larger than themselves, such as planes, freighter ships, trains, or even collapsing buildings. They also exert themselves when fighting other superpower beings of similar levels of strength and durability, such as other Kryptonians. This kind of exertion makes them vulnerable to strain, soreness and fatigue, as humans experience when they exert themselves, though they can recover from it much faster than humans can.
>>
>>52347867
Honestly, arbitrarily nerfing a power just because you don't like it or it's too powerful is simply stupid. Just don't offer it at all if you don't like it, but don't insert your own opinions in the jump and try to edit the source material.
>>
>>52348343
>Well, for the third time and by all means correct me if my understand's off base-what I recall is that the time travel works because of the machine's disruption did to allow the Speed Force to do that. Nope, that was just what Fist said to justify it the first time. No canon basis.
>>
>>52348343
No, by the logic of "this Speedforce has to have time travel because of how it abuses in-setting metaphysics," I want to know why I can't buy my omnipotence.

Hell. We clearly see Sinbad become such a being in Magi, as an example.
>>
>>52348343
>Well, for the third time and by all means correct me if my understand's off base-what I recall is that the time travel works because of the machine's disruption did to allow the Speed Force to do that
How does that make sense when the machine was made by humans, and you have entities like Time Wraiths that basically act as Time Cops? I don't see how a machine made by a human retcons the abilities that other Speed Force manipulators have.
>>
>>52348343
Anon, the perk makes you a speedster with access to the speed force. You are never out of range of the speed force because you paid CP for it, thus ensuring access going forward.

Your argument only works if you gained access to the speed force in jump without paying CP, in which case you would lose access when you leave for obvious reasons.
>>
>>52348346
>>52348409
>>52348415

Huh, just checked the wiki and-you guys have a point. Fair enough, not going to die on this hill when I was mainly skeptical at the start because someone tried to justify his opinion with "but other jumps have it already"
>>
>>52348405
Why is not having a power better than having a weaker power

You're stupid. I may not like the idea much either, but that's like saying you'd rather chop off your hand than get a splinter.
>>
>>52348123
Speedforce literally allows for time travel by itself, no machines or other stuff like that required. Him nerfing it is a prime example for actual inter-jump balance, because the only reason he does it is because it is stronger compared to options in other jumps. His reasons may or may not be legitimate, but don't try to twist the narrative here. What he is doing is definitely interjump balance.
>>
>>52348405
Manyfist has a history of doing this though, from the Benefactor getting stomped to WoW equipment limits, this is par for the course for Fist. The only reason why people are defending him is because they assume he's an expert on the subject material and the thought of time travel is seen as powerwanking by some.
>>
>>52348405
That's not what he's doing. He's restricting a canon use of the power, you know, like we have in Exalted, Mage, Stargate and others. It's not like Asura's Wrath where he's permanently tainting the setting by adding a bunch of fanfiction to it.
>>
>>52348461
Dammit, these post timers really make replying awkward huh?
>>
>>52348242
Dude, are you high? If you buy something you should have access to it outside of the jump as well, period. Otherwise you wouldn't have Harry Potter magic, a Stand, the Force, or anything else cool really that relies on local metaphysics. So us having access to super speed in other settings it not a boon or anthing like that, it's the least what's expected.

Journal Entry # 9012

So sometimes being a jumper means being a third wheel. I was in Pasloe for the Festival and realized I was just in time to catch Holo and Lawrence if I wanted to. I thought I would tag along with them so I hitched a ride. At first Lawrence wasn’t too happy but I could pay my way so it turns out he didn’t mind the extra coin.

Holo seemed to like me, I think I may have reminded her of her family up north or maybe it was just nice to see another god. For a while traveling with them was fun but I kind of realized I was in the way of them getting together so I have decided to just make my own way. It’s for the best really I miss my wives and my companions who I can’t really bring out here.

Journal Entry # 9015

Wow I actually wound up help Lawrence and Halo escape from some thugs tonight and helped them get to Milone Trading Company. I saw some thugs chasing after some people on my way back to my room from playing at the inn. So incapacitated the thugs and it turned out to be those two that were being chased. Apparently they were in the middle of some economic thing that turned bad. I am really surprised that Economics is so dangerous. Well I guess anything to do with money is enough to get some people wanting to kill you. Hell it’s a better excuse than a lot of the people that come after me have. Anyways I escorted the love birds to where they were going. They were a bit in shock that I had taken down all those thugs myself but I just told them that as a traveler one must be able to look after themselves.

I just don't like having to be content with a shitty knockoff. I really like speedster stuff, so this feels really shitty. There's been plenty of jumps that have followed the practice of not allowing full suite of powers until after sparking.

The time-space continuum is weak in Arrowverse. Then there's the whatever it is Waverider rides through. I don't feel comfortable in offering full access to speedforce.

Post jump the speedforce follows you. However because time-space works different in other universes & the fact you're not getting full access to speedforce until post spark.

Think of it as a hose. While in the Jump, the hose is full blast. There's consequences but none the less it's going full blast.

Post jump, the benefactor has squeezed it. Enough that you can still function normally, but not like it was during the jump. When you spark, the pressure is released and the water pressure is turned to maximum. Which means full access to comic style speedforce & speedfeats post-spark.

Waverider is still a great starship. Also thinking maybe allowing the library access of Gideon to update based on the universe.

But anon, Isekai is basically what Jumpchain is. It's going from being a normal person to being dropped off in another world, a more fantastic world, and gaining powers because of it.
>>
>>52348614
>There's been plenty of jumps that have followed the practice of not allowing full suite of powers until after sparking.
So to defend against a guy claiming precedent you use precedent to justify your call of feeling uneasy about offering something. Then you try to justify it again by saying "oh it's ok because you can just Spark".

So basically you're suggesting that we solve the problem with all of your jumps by sparking and ending the chain?
>>
>>52348614
On the one hand this makes Speedster a lot less appealing to me, on the other hand that means I have more CP to spend on waifus. . . . not sure how to feel about this.

Since we can get Supergirl in Arrowverse I could end up getting two of the same version of Supergirl when that jump comes out!

Holo is a wolf goddess and Lawrence is a merchant. I am not really sure why that's the title of the anime/manga/all the other stuff... probably because it sounds better than Wolf and Economics. There is a slight title drop after one of Lawrence's deals where he takes his payment in pepper instead of silver but I think that's the only time it's ever mentioned. I could be wrong.
>>
>>52348673
I mean is there a way to just copy the Speed Force? Manyfist can't rule on it if it's attained through means that don't use his jumps. Seems kind of stupid that he ends up encouraging this sort of behavior, but I guess this isn't the first time.

No no, don't misunderstand me I have nothing against those because they actually bring up interesting things about the setting. I like learning about what Essence is or what conceptual weapons are because flaws aside, it genuinely smacks of people being interested in thes etting for its' own sake.

The thing about Isekei is-as far as I can tell, people always, always talk about the power fantasy aspect. At least Exalted maintains a pretense of mythic heroism, tragedy and apotheosis. At least Fate's power systems are interesting to hear explained. But with Isekai it just smacks of things I can't bring myself to care about, like trash waifus.

>>52348713
There is, actually. Creative Composition from Ar Tonelico, though I imagine you'd probably need a whole tower to do the scanning, and then project the field of song "magic" to get it to work in that range. Actually I think in canon there's a specific wavelength that lets people travel between universes?
>>
>>52348713
Companion someone with the proper full speed force, wait till post jump so that you can be sure theirs keeps functioning out of DC, and then use any of the assorted methods for taking/copying other people's abilities. Like Sacrificial Bestowment or one of the Deal perks.

Of course if you don't care about fiat insurance you could just do it the easy way, it is a fairly frequently replicated power. You'll only be able to use it in DC though.
>>
>>52348614
>However because time-space works different in other universes & the fact you're not getting full access to speedforce until post spark.
This makes no sense. You justify that the speedforce doesn't have its fully array of powers because time-space works differently. Sparking doesn't change time-space, it doesn't magically normalize every world to support the magic found in every other world. So why does sparking suddenly mean that speed force now works?

If you're going to cap things off can't you at least think carefully about how it works instead of just slapping on the spark label?

It's not easy to travel between universes in the EXA-PICO setting physics, last time it happened someone lost their body and they had to essentially 'steal' a local princesses body. No to mention due to how different the wave composition of of someone from another universe is, it causes an upset of the balance in the universe.

Just look a Ciel noSurge, the sun Bezel was growing quicker than normal and that's why they ended up destroying the planet.

Path of the Skull Knight begins.
Chain's Rules:
-No altforms, human or otherwise. The only shape this warrior has is that of a skeleton.
-Slow ramp-up. Low power -> medium power -> high power.
-Possibility of one rival following from jump to jump. Still considering.
-Other rules are to be considered as chain continues.

#1 Generic Universal Monsters
Undead - Skeleton
Starting Location: Cairo, Egypt

Perks:
-Weight of Ages (Free)
-False Life
-Back from the Grave
-Hidden Depths
-Occult Research
-Plucky

Items:
-Coffin (Free)
-Hypnotic Ring

I awaken in a dusty old tomb. No memory of who I am, only a jeweled ring and a faint scream ringing in my skull. No name, but a purpose - a promise another made long ago.

There's another scream in the hall just beyond my tomb. It takes effort to push these bones into action, but I'm out.

I don't know what drives me until I see the explorer, lying in a pool of his own blood and this... MONSTER, crouched on his chest.

Cold anger.

>Next jump, need 8 low-powered settings to roll from.

So when it comes to defending your own rulings, the Speedforce is omnipresent. But when it comes to your rulings, the Speedforce is nerfed. In the end all it comes down to is that the Speedforce is your toy and you don't want other people to have it without playing the game your way.

What about this.

Those who bought the Speedster power is the Chosen Of The Speedforce. The Speedforce has chosen you to represent itself in universes where it may not exist. However with some cadveants, to prevent breaking the time-space continuum, universes that do not allow native time travel, you may not use the Speedforce to skirt that restriction. Those universes that do allow time-travel you may travel through time as if following by the same rules of Arrowverse. Abusing timetravel and messing with the timelines too much will alert the Time Wraiths. These antibodies of the Speedforce are fast & deadly, they can disappear and reappear at will as well ability to follow you through time. If you're unlucky enough The Speedforce will send the Black Racer after you. While blind, it can sense the Speedforce. It can't be killed only delayed. It'll always be as fast if not faster than you, and will hunt you down until you cross over to a new universe or until fix your changes. Likewise travel between multiple dimensions is similarly restricted, minus the Time Wraiths & Black Racer.
>>
>>52349345
Undertail for the "monster magic"
Might be a good place to start since the Jump is "Pacifist-run" frisk. Something I had been thinking about is that all the monsters also have some sort of soul-popping-out magic and can directly attack souls... So pop in as a monster...

Then go to the Harry potter universe and see if you can pop souls out of Horcruxs/Harry Potter. Attack the horcrux-soul-chunks with soul-attacking monster magic and "maybe" regain the items that the horcruxs were sealed into.

Bartimaeus Sequence - Also grab a name protection perk here, important before you go to the next jump of...

Dresden - One particularly nice perk makes you immune to magic cast directly at you.
Which is all sorts of fantastic.

Demons of Astlan - You could also pick up a Demon-body here.

Also Overlord for "stupidly powerful magic"

How about you just do what was done for Kabuto in that universes without constant time travel (during your chain) can only allow you to go a few hours backwards or forwards, while other universes let you have full access to the time travel. For the multiverse travelling just let it be only between the local multiverse (that you still have to find your way around) until post-spark

Radio and books. Radio series particularly, if only to rescue her from getting forcibly married off (though it gets a bit confusing what with possibly happening in an artificial universe).

Film I wouldn't, unless Arthur wanted to come along too (because I don't want to NTR them).

I'd prefer the workshop to planetary architect, but you could offer both since some jumpers want skills while others want bling (and then there's the ones who max out on drawbacks to buy everything).

I'm worried that the level of defence you get is dissproportiante in this jump.

It's not just "take a beating", it's "conceptual immunity to blunt damage". Rather than "you don't age", it's "all time based attacks are completley innefectual on you" (which is totally not how cartoon logic works anyway - Bugs Buynny would totally turn into a baby), and mmuninty "to any instant-death abilities, magic and disintegration effects" (Why are disintegration effects listed anyway, that doesn't quite fit the pattern. Plus there's just a general sense of "Lose any body part, head, brain heart and so on, without any ill effect whatsoever - you don't die or fall unconscious".

I'd suggest you tone the language back in some places, and just generally make sure the perks contain an example of their limitations.

An alien grabs you for a beer and a ride. Thrown out of an airlock into the depths of galactic space? Rescued by a passing starship. Get ambushed by trigger-happy space cops and blasted? Inexplicably find yourself at the end of the universe. Trapped on a starship diving into a star? Malfunctioning teleporter sends you to prehistoric Earth.

Some of the monsters are pretty scary.

There're your typical Medusa, then Dopplegangers who can just flat-out imitate anyone with all their powers (probably doesn't apply to Jumpers - but it'd be a good one for a drawback), Watchers at the End of Time who are very fast and very tricky.

Dungeon Fantasy is basically medieval post-human supersoldiers VS everything. Skills of 20-24 are routine (from "world champion" to "Golgo-13").

>>
>>52351097
Well, Digimon is a generally higher-powered series where monsters the size of small buildings are the mid-level antagonists. The big bad of the series is a rogue program that eats half the city powered by the sadness of a small girl who saw her digimon partner brutallly murdered.
>>
So, for Ciel Nosuge, would moving the planet to a different location be a viable way to stop the majority of the shenanigans? What about merely moving the population? I don't recall anything my jumper knows that could fix the star(though it is entirely likely that such knowledge has been acquired)
>>
>>52351173
Oh, and it has the potential to eat both the digital and real worlds, which could apparently cause the digimon multiverse to collapse. This is fairly standard for Digimon series, though.
>>
>>52351171

Oh they're serious alright. The final enemy, D-Reaper, is an evolved government program that was tasked with destroying the digital world if it became a threat. Then it fell asleep and evolved like the rest of the Digital World, being woken up from its slumber near the end and going full eldritch horror on not only the digital world, but the real world once it noticed that it also met the criteria for destruction.
>>
>>52350521
Sure, but immune to conventional damage is something generally avoided in the chain without some form of limitation.
>>
>>52351171
Seriously. The show starts with "you know, the monster battling genre of video game is actually pretty fucked up, you're forcing living creatures to kill each other, you should feel bad" and only escalates from there. Sure, there are cute moments and fun moments, too, but the overall tone is very much focused on making the kids feel despair.
>>
>>52351171
Yeah.

Jerri the cute girl who just wants to do cute things, and wanted to be a tamer so bad. She finally got her wish. Then her digimon was killed by a digimon that she thought was her friend. Then she got absorbed by D-Reaper, the BBEG of the series, who then used her body to mess with her relationships & ruin her reputation. Just everytime she tries to get up, she gets kicked down.
>>
>>52346863
>Unified Theory of Charmed
Don't push yourself too hard, the setting dropped and added rules as the plot needed. I think they never really decided if your actions are what decided if you're evil, or if some magic is just inherently evil regardless of how you use it.

Can't think of much I want to suggest, sorry. Apart from maybe a snark perk, a "family emergency" perk that helps you duck out of work and etc. for supernatural occurrences, and possible a capstone perk/power that lets you no-sell stuff by just being way stronger than the other guy. Maybe a drawback where you keep ending up in relationships, or strong platonic friendships if that's not applicable, only to discover that they're actually evil/good and planning to kill you, and it just keeps happening.

I just want to let you know I support you and am looking forward to this jump.

Stable Master Ya’qi (200 CP):
“Mon, I’m no’ sayin’ ignore da bite mahks I got all ovah meh. I’m jes’ sayin’ give da liddle guy a chance!”
Ya’qi is... enthusiastic, to put it lightly. A jungle troll with a lot of heart, particularly for those beasties that one should not be taming lightly. Core hounds, kodiak bears, devilsaurs, he’s tried to hug them all. One could almost regard him as an expert zoologist despite his lack of scientific knowledge - his expertise in beasts, and ability to study and quickly learn of new creatures, are second to none. As well, should you have some kind of stable, exhibit, or similar type of enclosure, you’ll find he will immediately name himself it’s caretaker. And you won’t be disappointed.

For another 100 CP, Ya’qi can discover a hidden potential within his soul - and can potentially take the old Zandalari path of the Dinomancer. Pursuing this road will give Ya’qi to call upon the spirits of the ancient saurian beasts that prowled the world, calling them as spectral allies or requesting their aid in taming and controlling similar creatures.

Oh it is. There's no blood or crass language and they're all drawn like your average cartoon. You just also end up having extreme trauma inflicted on several characters and the thing pictured letting out a cacophony of "Destiny, Destiny, Destiny, Destiny" from all of its mouths in a little girl voice that isn't nearly as horrifying for children as it is for adults.
>>
>>52351498
You'll definitely enjoy the movie then. It's meant to give childhood nostalgics a wake up call.
>>
>>52350486
>Uh, no. Those are definitely mid-power.

Samurai Jack isn't. Putting Aku and some overgods aside, everything else is just street level.

And even Aku isn't that strong aside from him having a large empire to support his evil. He can go one man army or be a few stories tall, but that's it. Oh, and he can breath fire, but he can't even melt steel shields.

Not really sure that SDK really fits the term 'mid-power' in the context of jumpchain.

>>
>>52351565
>Putting Aku and some overgods aside, everything else is just street level.

Doesn't that cartoon have armies of ninja robots? And tank robots? And various other robot armies of destruction? That are only street level in the sense of "and then everything in the streets were leveled, and the remains were on fire"?

>>
>>52351565
I mean, if Demons of Astlan fits the term "mid-power" for this anon, SDK probably does as well. And Samurai Jack is near the higher end of street-level at least. Probably one or two tiers higher than RWBY.
>>
>>52351603
Large armies can be found in any setting, anon. And most of those at top can destroy a small town or village and they're just killing their inhabitants. And those are the really strong ones that Aku uses to try to kill Jack.

There really aren't that much 'leveling a city' entities aside from the Gods and Aku.
>>
>>52351565
Jack is a casual bullet timer and can jump into the stratosphere with a bigass boulder on his back.
>>
>>52351459
It is. But it makes those themes accessible to a kid audience. I never felt like it was too much for me as a kid, it was dark but not in a way that scared me. It came across more intriguing than frightening, things were strange and mysterious and I wanted to know more. See, Tamers takes place in a world where Digimon exists as a franchise. The kids all know it as a game and anime. But then one day...reality just breaks. All the kids receive their partners in these logic-defying ways. Takato gets Guilmon when a little sketch he made of his own fan-creation Digimon comes to life. Henry gets Terriermon when the Digimon in the game he's playing suddenly attain sapience, and he pulls Terriermon out of there to save him from this violent world it's trapped in. Rika gets Renamon when she's visited by the ghosts of every Digimon that's ever died in one of her games, and Renamon saves her from their vengeance. It's some trippy stuff. And then weird fog starts pouring out of rifts in reality while monsters emerge to wreck the place and act on dark desires they've learned from humanity. As much as people compare it to Evangelion, I actually feel like it's got a lot in common with Persona, in a way. And it only gets weirder from there, every plot point making you wonder more and more what the hell is going on. It was my favorite show as a kid, because I thought I knew what Digimon was at that point and it constantly proved me wrong.
>>
>>52351604

The Deva I just ended up enjoying like any other Digimon, although Makuramon's uncanny valley stye disguise was weird and yes, he was definitely a dick. D-Reaper's creepy factor comes mostly out of the implications involved, since this is still a kid's show. It abducted a little girl, is feeding on her trauma while inducing more trauma, speaks with her voice, has umbilical chords attached to all the monsters it's producing, uses an entirely different animation style and is looking to exterminate all life in existence.

>>52351618

Episode 42 onwards is where D-Reaper starts to feature prominently. I think 47 is the one where mouth thing features.

To me it feels like this jump has been made because they want that power. There's such a huge focus on perks that increase your survivability (seriously, it feels like every other perk is something to prevent dying), and every perk is worded to be as broad and as powerful as possible.
>>
>>52351937
That wasn't my post. Your comment of "But Worm does it better" was silly enough to make me bite. I could not care less about what people try to avoid in chain.

>>52351966
That wasn't my post, either. Yeah, but the context of the post you responded to was responding to inter-jump balance with inter-jump balance, so I don't see why you're singling it out as "silly" when it's just addressing the point brought up by the post it was a reply to. Context matters, anon.
>>
Hey CCDT. In Fantastic Beasts, does taking Off to School affect your end-date? As in, I take that and go through school all over again, but does the Jump end ten years after that or is it still ten years after the events of the movie?

Still seems like a double standard when the argument for trying to change a power is "lol better one in Worm"
>>

>>
>>52351994
>the context of the post you responded to was responding to inter-jump balance with inter-jump balance
Yes, and that's why it's so stupid. Instead of just pointing it out, they decided they'd join in with an equally idiotic argument. The first time it gets brought up, individual idiocy. Joining in on it willfully? That's a deeper level of stupidity, because it's validating the original flawed point.
>>
>>52352027
>double standard
Do you even know what that phrase means? That's what the power already does. The argument against it is "lol worse ones in other jumps". If anything it's a double standard in the other direction, considering that arguments using inter-jump balance for it are dismissed.

To be clear, I'm not saying this power should allow complete immunity to physical harm for such a price, but there are ways to express that without twisting the facts.
>>
>>52352037
Thread would crucify me if I didn't, so I kinda have to.

However, buying a secondary class + one specialization does not get you discounts, merely the knowledge and power associated with it. Your first class dictates your discounts, like an origin.

I think Manyfist tried to shut down the replication part by saying that the Speedforce was basically an omnipotent entity like the Benefactor, so you wouldn't be able to copy it or reproduce it unless you had the equivalent power of making universes or something similar to that. It gets pretty absurd with God Tiers. Even without being a god tier, there are examples of people using planets to fight each other through telepathy.

Pic related an example of the first God Tier seeing in the series using his powers. These are the basic powers, mind you, without getting into the whole conceptual/metaphysical ones.

>>52352201

Question I had reading through the wip with the classes... Are the warlock's demons going to be treated much like the Hunter's pets? Non-companions and all?

Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing the perks of them in particular. Though going by what's already been shown, there's going to be a lot of good stuff amongst the rest too.
>>
>>52352183
Um, not even close. The top-tiers are planetary at lowest. But to be fair, Worm is generally street-level with a few notable exceptions.
>>
>>52352073
I think the best way to express it is to look at within the context of the jump itself. Are the powers out of line with the setting itself? Is the pricing fair looking at what else is within the jump?

I think some of the perks here are too broad in scope, and too absolute, considering the ow price. For 200CP, any orgin can essenially became immune to losing any body parts, ignore any amount of blunt force, ignore "critical hits", or alternalty they can make things have sound effects.

And within the jump itself, every caveat given by a perk is directly contradicted by another perk. It makes me question the motives of the jumpmaker, and suspect that this was designed as a powergrab, which is not a good sign.
>>
>>52352183

>>
>>52352183
uh, no. quite the opposite. There's someone that shrinks small planets into basketball sized orbs for easier carrying. There's one spaceship that is powered by chaining one guy inside it and having it TK it to its destination. One person has aerokinesis strong enough to drill into the core of one of the aforementioned small planets. One motherfucker straight up destroys the universe with a mcguffin ring. there's like four or five people with temporal manipulaition. One of them is the BBEG which passively controls all possible timelines so that he always wins and is invincible without mcguffin bullshit. Also, bullshit tier precog. Seer/Mage of Light is pretty much Path to Victory without it setting you on autopilot, so you know everything you need to win, but have to perform the steps yourself.

Yes and yes, the sun Bezel only started becoming a problem since two girls from Earth were transported there. You'll need to send them back before these shenanagins happen again. Though moving the planet might work, there would be the problem that nearly the whole planet has been burnt to a crisp thanks to the sun's flares. Moving them to another planet is a bit problematic since the only other planet that has been shown to support their 'waves' was too dangerous as shown by the scouting team that died.

Hm, true... Not sure about the gravity, actually. Considering the kids' houses don't topple despite by thin as fuck towers, they might not...

But then they generally seem to have normal gravity otherwise.

The laws of physics might also be different, since it's a bubble outside of the universe floating with the eldritch space of the Furthest Ring.
>>
>>52352351
Most of that is Homestuck/Green Sun shenanigans, which aren't a part of the general Sburb jump without a drawback.

I was thinking move the planet to an orbit around a younger star. I suppose I could doormaker the two troublemakers home(and possibly put the planet on the other side of the sun).

Also, too dangerous? How so? Bad atmosphere? Deadly creatures?

Reminder that Adventure 2 was going to introduce the idea of cosmic horrors attacking the worlds but they dropped the plot line.

109. Digimon Tamers
Location: Shinjuku
Background: Digimon Partner, Age: 6
Perks: Dangerous Eyes, Just A Toy, World Tunneler, Empathic Connection, Bio-Merge
Tamer Partner: Impmon
Items: Scaling Belt and Jeans, Sentimental Gift (Plastic Guitar)

-Impmon the Tamer: Building Bridges, Empathic Connection, Bio-Merge, D-Ark, False Blue Card

-Digimon Customization
Special Characteristics: Full Speed Ahead, Big Things Small Packages, Weapon Emphasis (Stradivarius), Elemental, Sustained

Impmon was immediately strapped with the Power Lock Wrist Brace for this jump, just so he can experience what exactly being a normal human is like. He didn't like it. I let him have my goggles from last jump, but it didn't help. He was really mopey. It was less than a month before he took it off and gave it back and spending most of his time as Impmon.

The two digimon being each other's tamer thing got some odd looks, especially since neither one of us stayed in champion or ultimate level and both our rookie forms were pretty unimpressive. Teamwork was a pretty alien concept here, as we were expected to eat each other to grow in strength. It just got worse when we adopted Calumon. Rika and Renamon started off by calling us weak but I just stayed sarcastic. Oh yes, teamwork is weakness, that's clearly how humans conquered the earth and made digimon. By beating each other in the head with rocks.

The local Impmon tried too, but we befriended the shit out of him and got him to go home to his tamers. It took some work. We had to get him up to speed before the Devas attacked. His path took him through Wizardmon, then Baalmon, and finally Beelzemon. As a consequence, Jerri was never traumatized, Leomon never died, and events went on a slightly different path. We had to teach the Tamers how to biomerge, and local events still provided the pressure for the kids to develop. We even saw some new biomerges. There was even a red card I had to use that sent me to the digital world for a few months.

Awesome. Now if only I could figure out what race to be, I'd be set...

Speaking, I'd like to take a moment and thank you for the Mixed Heritage option. Because a Two-Headed Murloc-Ogre is too ridiculous not to companion.
>>
>>52352525
What movie is this?
>>
>>52352456
That would work.

Technically the two girls were kidnapped against their will. The first one coming 5000 years before the plot and the second just half a year before the plot begins. Also if you going to send them back home, at least tell them to sung at the center of the universe since they both com from parallel versions of Earth as ststed by when they say different on the 6th axis.

The planet is very different from Ra Ciela and due to that the scouting team couldn't fight against the disease plus they were stranded after losing connect in with the ship.
>>
>>52352525
You realize most of the people who would watch the movie in real life range anywhere from middle school to mid 30s right? Or are you just spewing out the Japan Suicidal Salaryman meme because that's the only headline you can think of? If you're talking about the movie that just shows you're shitting out of your ass, considering they're in high school, not out working as salarymen.
>>
>>52352498
So how do they make stuff with it?
>>
>>52352562
Digimon Adventure tri is the five part sequel to Digimon Adventure 02. It focuses very heavily on the idea that everything has a mortal lifespan, even digimon.
>>
>>52352583
Look anon, the movie shows the death of wonder and joy for the sake of responsibility, then shows absolutely no benefit to that responsibility. It's a miserable message, when combined with how critical it is for nostalgia towards the first two.
>>
Would the following Pokemon be valid as starters under "actual starter" due to being a rival's starter?

Ralts(Wally: RSE/ORAS)
Marill(Lyra/Ethan: HG/SS)
Corphish(Tierno XY)

Eevee(Blue/Green: Yellow) and Pikachu(Trevor: XY) are specifically covered in the jump, and Type: Null(Gladion: SM) presumably counts as a legendary, thus unchoosable as any starter type, but I feel like there's valid arguments both for and against these three.

I personally like the idea that Eevee is an option either because it was Blue/Green's starter in Yellow, or because it was SUPPOSED to be your starter in Yellow rather than being an option because of XD because if you allow the Gamecube games then technically you'd be allowed to chose to start with two Eevees because of Colosseum, and that's obviously not right.

Pretty much what I mean by that is that through song EXA_PICO will accept their offerings and send them home, without sacrificing a planet or the rest of the people.
>>
>>52352701
Maybe make it some sort of undiscounted perk off on the side, and/or a capstone booster at about 600CP? That way people can still buy it, while having a few points left over and a choice of how to spend it/ which background to pick up?

Make it tied to you being apart from a specific companion? Either taking up a companion slot and relying for power on someone you dislike, or being away from someone you do? It's not like it doesn't have a few significant canonical drawbacks.
>>
Just checking to see if this is a good proof of concept for the jump, I had the idea as a hare brained scheme after seeing Heroes and hopefully I can make a good follow up
>>
>>52352713

>>
>>52352745
Mhm. This gon be good.
>>
>>52352618
>the movie shows the death of wonder and joy for the sake of responsibility, then shows absolutely no benefit to that responsibility.
You come off as trying to make this bigger than it is. Things die, people grow up, responsibilities show up whether you like it or not. Honestly the way it came together made a lot more sense than if everybody still acted the same way even after several years of separation. It's a realistic message reminding people that Digimon was never some feelgood anime like Yokai Watch or Pokemon.
>>
>>52352787
If you're making it it'll be flawless at the end, so just go for it.
>>
>>52352787
That feels way more disconnected then heroes does actually. For Heroies, most of the jump is pretty clearly connected with just some of the items/companions seeming a bit off. But that intro just seems like shoving together the 'fantasy' cards without any real care as to whether they're actually in the same theme.
>>
>>52352632
You have to be Hancock's "mate" to be one of the "angels".
>>
>>52352841
Just give him a chance to put it all together. Digger's jumps always seem disjointed because he puts them together in parts, but he's probably one of the best if not the best writer we have, so it'll all come together in an amazing package at the end.
>>
>>52352468

02 in general was just an ocean of wasted potential and stupid ideas.
>>
>>52352801
Also if you want to make sure that something like that doesn't happen again, destroy any and all research of genelogic devices and whatnot since they're the kidnap person from another dimension tech.

Other than that, that should be everything on how to solve it. Just be glad that there isn't a continuity drawback in the Ar Tonelico jump, you would have made everything so different its not even funny.
>>
>>52352841

Yeah, I'm not gonna say it's a perfect fit. The Heroes one was easy simply because they were a single giant archetype, but early vanilla ygo was kind of all over the place in both aesthetics and themes

I'm not doing Duel Terminal(which would probably be more coherent but I wanna help SMTAnon with it rather than snatch it out from him) and there aren't a whole lot of wide-reaching archetypes out there. The best that can be done with this era of the card lore is to just kinda try and make it fit.

I get what you're saying, there's just not a whole lot of ways around the problem without just dropping the idea(which isn't exactly off the table) or finding a way to better streamline everything together
>>
>>52352408
>anon's pic
Do you mean this?
>>
>>52352878
That's not the sort of disjointed I'm referring to anon. I'm saying that the jump idea makes no sense because unlike Heroes, which is obviously a setting with everything together, this one seems like it's just being thrown together by unrelated cards.
>>
>>52352886
Yes, I just didn't have a Hancock photo.
>>
>>52352787
Oh shit, will the dragon option let you be a Red Eyes?
>>
>>52352881
lol, so it's the ar tonelico verse? means I could probably use doormaker from there to find the universe I altered. Destroying the research would only slow them down though, not stop them.
>>
>>52352807
It's a realistic message, which by its nature is a miserable one.
>>
>>52352884
Some ideas just don't work out. This is like putting a square peg into a round hole. If you want to do YGO stuff, I'd recommend trying to find something more like Heroes, a set of cards that is actually connected rather then forcing it just for the sake of having a YGO jump made. Probably the crux of the problem as I see it- there's not a necessity for this jump to be made and it being made doesn't make much sense. So my recommendation is to try and find a more fitting one or focus on another one of your jumps.
>>
>>52352930
>there's not a necessity for this jump to be made
No jump is necessary.
>>
>>52349556
What do you want do block off, just the time travel? How about:
The Speedforce is a Sentient & Sapient part of the DC universe. By paying XXCP you gain a connection to the Speedforce that the benefactor will allow to maintained in later jumps instead of being left behind and locked in time as normal for sapient non companions.
You may not Pod the speedforce unless you have can compress part of the physics of a multiverse infinite in scope into something the size of a telephone booth. Without destroying it and/or the multiverse. The Speedforce is not inclined to compress itself into something that small without a lot of convincing, and never at the expense of reality. The Speed force likes you, but does not like LIKE you in that way. Sorry there champ. If you think you have the skills or perks to change either of these initial conditions, good you and happy wanking.

If you become a speedforce speedster, you are getting the Arrowverse version, and can only do what is done there, And in the arrowverse, using time travel gets you hit in the plot with bad stuff until you get the point that changing the past is BAD, um'kay? The more you want to make a specific change to the past, the more some cosmic crap tier writer will go to great lengths to make things as fucked up as they can be to make you suffer wangst. Is does not have to even make a great deal of sense, it sure doesn't in the show.

But that is the time travel the show has, so that is the time travel you get. You can probably go back a bit in the past to weak a villian of the week or do some inane Dr Who Time Tourist crap, but benefactor help you if you try to really change the world for the better or same someone you really care about, because whatever reject from the screen writers guild sure won't!

>>
>>52351243

Bee, question about that Digital Progenitor perk.

You can use it to bring programs to life and give them human intelligence.

However how would I go about getting them to physically manifest in the real world?
>>
>>52352922
It's the Ar Tonelico setting yes, though it introduces a few retcons. Consider it different if you want.
>>
>>52352930
Is there anything like Heroes? I haven't kept up with yugioh for a long time but I know they're constantly making new mechanics so?
>>
>>52352903
I think it's too early to make a call on that, not with just an intro and some backgrounds. Digger's jumps have so much detail put into them that not having the perks and items probably means we're missing most of the real package. When he gets them all in we'll probably see a better picture of what his vision is.
>>
>>52349798
>that sounds more like a potential drawback
Why, the poetry doesn't hurt you to hear, but is pure agony to anyone else who has to listen to it who is not an equally bad poet.
>>
>>52352955
Maybe something based on ancient Egypt? Y'know, how it was a huge deal in the original series.
>>
>>52352945
That's even worse.
>>
>>52352943
Indeed, yet all jumps are at least based on something solid. It could be an actual setting or a specific genre or a connected set of things like the Heroes YGO jump. This one doesn't have any solid foundation and even just the origins are a mismatched pot with no connection beyond 'early YGO'.

Digger's a good jump maker but even a skilled writer sometimes can't do much with a poor idea as the starting point, which is why I think he'd be better off working on something else that would have a better, more coherent finished product.
>>
>>52352909
I'm thinking over how to handle the draconic power options in it. this was more of a proof of concept of the jump, than an actual WIP.

>>52352903
The Jump idea is pre-Fusions era YGO lore with the idea that Heroes jump represents the fusions era. It's an admittedly weak idea, I understand, but I feel like a sense of nostalgia for when Blue Eyes and Dark Magician were cool/relevant(...Blue eyes never STOPPED but fuck him)
In any case I'm not 100% married to the idea. I've had a few stronger ideas
The biggest one would be one that consolidates the various space-based archetypes such as Kozmos, Aliens, Bacterion Empire Ships/Gradius shout outs, and some of the more sci fi concepts such as the psychics into a single setting

But, that may also carry a bit of issues with it as well.
>>
>>52352922
Yeah its in the same verse as Ar Tonelico, which is collectively called the EXA_PICO verse. Plus what you did would have made sure Reyvetails and all other tech found there wouldn't even exist.

Thats fine, the only reason they were able to do it a second time was because they found some ancient tech and notes on how to do it. Just destroying it would be enough do to how long its been since the first attempt which was 5000 years ago, stuff is essentially lost tech.
>>
>>52352947
So now I can't even praise a jumpmaker I consider irreplaceable without a shitposter showing up? If you've got nothing good to say shouldn't you just stay silent?
>>
>>52352985
It's accurate tho (at least about the whole time travel in the arrowverse thing)
>>
>>52352993
Yeah, 'pre fusions era YGO' is even worse as a base then 'fantasy'. Heroes had an underlying setting hinted at through various cards but when you're just looking at cards from a specific time period, especially in the early days when the game didn't do the focused themes like with heroes, it's just...feels like a huge stretch to make this into a jump, no matter how good you may be.
>>
>>52353009
The praise is actually a bit suffocating and seems to ignore what people are saying in lieu of 'he's good so it'll work' even if the problems being talked about aren't linked to skill.
>>
>>52352993
I like it. The nostalgia is nice.
>>
>>52352924

>>
>>52353009
>implying any jumpmaker is worth praising
>>
>>52353055
The vast majority of people will live unhappy adult lives, yes. The depression rates show this.
>>
>>52352930
Yeah, I get ya. Like I said, I'm not married to the idea. I put together the intro as it was to sort of show the concept and see what reactions it got. It seeming like a jumbled up mess is a definite hazard I had in mind

>>52352955
Duel terminal is an actual attempt at YGO card lore. and there are various other "Lore' things such as the master card guides, though they tend to be a series of stories rather than a single 'verse' like Duel Terminal.

>>52352990
I really appreciate your candidness, I was posting it for exactly these kinds of reasons.

The only way I could see it feeling better is if I took a set amount of cards and made a large effort to worldbuild from that, then present a summary of the worldbuilding before displaying it as a jump
But that'd be the only way
>>
>>52352953

I imagine you would go about putting research in Digimon, the Digital World and how they're able to cross the boundary. This isn't an insurmountable task if you go Drop In and put in work while in-setting due to the research and subjects of focus existing there.

Alternatively, if say, you're buying Digital Progenitor as some other origin and aren't as technologically gifted. . . I think PC technology from Pokemon and convert stuff back and forth between data and normal matter, huh? That could be something to look into if you kept it or Pokeballs around. (I really don't know otherwise)
>>
>>52352993
It seems more like you just want to make this to get certain characters or powers, rather then for the non existent setting.

Why don't you just make a jump of one of the actual yu gi oh settings and do one that has the cards become real instead of this hackjob?
>>
>>52353072
I want a Dark Magician Girl waifu.
>>
>>52353009
>If you've got nothing good to say shouldn't you just stay silent?
No? This isn't pre-school, anon. Criticism and dislike are entirely valid sentiments here. This isn't SB where hugboxing happens to cushion your fee-fees. And honestly, the way you're "praising" him almost seems like your intent is to mock him.
>>
>>52352993
I get the vibe you're being attacked by someone who just wants to deny us jumps.
>>
>>52353042
Why am I going to repeat what other people say especially if I don't agree with it? I'm not Digger, I don't need to address everyone else's concerns. You should be grateful that he does in the first place. I do believe that his skill is enough to make up any foreseen problems for that matter. He's had more experience with making unique jumps out of repetitive settings than anyone else, which definitely says something about his ability.
>>
>>52353072
At that point you're basically creating OC is the thing, since there's not even a set theme. It might work, since it's more like 'semi OC' but it's also probably going to face the same problems that OC jumps/attempts at OC jumps have in the past.
>>
>>52352985
Well tough, It is accurate you dumbass. You get EXACTLY what the person who the perk is based on gets. You were bitching at Manyfist because you are an idiot who did not realize he was trying to cut the trap out of the speedforce.

Serves you right for wanting some super special abilities that were not part of the jump at all.

you think it is worse because you never actually had a point, just a beef with the jumpmaker.

>>
>>52353124

>>
>>52353029
Mostly it'd be focusing on fantasy with the mechanical stuff derived from Drop-in, but I get your point

>>52353084
Eh, you'd be surprised. There's not really any settings for yu gi oh? The only two things that really come to mind are Falsebound kingdom and War of the Roses. and really this is kind of me wishing that there WAS a setting for early ygo, honestly. Hell, Id' even be up to the down and dirty business of making a world for it if it meant there was one, a lot of cool designs were present in the early cards that never were made into coherent themes.

I'll consider about something like Falsebound kingdom, though. It's just a disappointment to me there aren't any really in-depth settings for the cards, I would love nothing more than for there to be the YGO equivalent of MTG planes
but, alas, we gotta do it ourselves.

>>52353091

No one knows and no one will ever know because the jumpmaker is gone. Find another place to get an AI creation perk like Generic Virtual World or the new Digimon jump. I mean if this isn't shitposting and you're just new, here's a rule of thumb, don't ever bring up any jump that was made by Dirge.

I meant look at the actual Yu gioh series, which have at several points had cards become real things, and do one of those. We have a guy doing ARC V I think, so that's really the closest thing you're getting to yugioh card settings. I'm pretty sure there's at least one time they go to a fantasy world where the cards are actual characters in the original series of yugioh

Not much but better that then making up OC just to get this and we'd get individual yugioh jumps

Question for the experts.

If I took the evolution perks from EVO: search for eden and then eventually went to the Naruto Jump, could I use the evo to evolve myself bloodline limits (like scorch release) and eventually evolve sage mode to six-path sage mode or the Rinnegan to the final form with the commas?
>>
>>52353224
Except the difference is that Dirge's jumps are so obscure that most people have no clue what the settings are. Try explaining to a person what the Hollow Night is for example, or even thinking up of which of his jumps have that. Then add to that how confusingly overwritten his perks always are and how wide their range ends up being because he writes them that way. Dirge's writing makes those three jumpmakers you mentioned look like simple instructions with how flowery it is. And that isn't a good thing.

You can't make any sensible ruling because you don't know what his intention with the perk was. You make a ruling, and if someone actually bothers to ask him to clarify, he'll probably have had something completely different in mind. Blame! wasn't even one of those that had plaintext perk descriptions at the end.
>>
>>52353245
No there is a perk that makes AI spawn around you in the programming line of blame. Not artificial life, its more like a virus that makes AI.
>>
>>52353269

Sure anon.

>>52353272

That certainly seems more viable for what you're trying to accomplish.
>>
>>52353292
Double Cross, I know nothing of this but it sounds fun to build for. A new 3 would be helpful.
>>
>>52350119
>No but you don't need a spell altar to make spells, it just makes them better.
How hard is it to make a Spell Alter?
>>
>>52353201
Asking questions is bad now?
>>
>>52353262
Yeah. I could probably change the focus and use the existing card storylines

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_storylines

The Gagaga Academy Tospedia storylines could also be stitched together pretty well, though the problem would be making them all feel focused, yeah. In general this entire deal is finding a way to whittle down the excess into something good.
>>
>>52353297
>Dirge's writing makes those three jumpmakers you mentioned look like simple instructions with how flowery it is.
The only one that's even slightly relevant for is Wild_Card.
>>
>>52353318
Questions are shitposting.
>>
>>52353233
If you're using Early YGO as a theme...maybe I should give an example to illustrate the problem I see with it.

Walk into a bookstore. Pick 100 books from every genre and aisle. Take those 100 books and make a jump out of them with a single coherent setting, giving at least some representation to the majority of those books.

Imagine what a mess that would be? Early YGO won't work as a theme because early YGO gave no fucks about themes. They made whatever was a cool card and so they ranged over every sort of type and theme possible. You might be able to make a jump filled with attractive perks and items, but you're not going to translate 'early YGO' into a setting that isn't a mess.

Focusing it more, something like 'early YGO fantasy' and it becomes possible to make a single setting that isn't schizophrenic. But as it is now, no matter how good you are with making cool perks, it's going to turn out messy.

Of course, there's still the other problems people brought up and it's never going to be even close to Heroes jump but it'll be a lot easier to sell if you cut out and narrow the focus.
>>

>Digital Progenitor
Is it wrong that i want to throw this at that videogame design jump, and as a dating sim?
>>
>>52353301
>That certainly seems more viable for what you're trying to accomplish.

Indeed it does.

But being honest I'm trying to bring certain video game characters to life which transforming their data into a Digimon wouldn't exactly do?

However would buying the Bio-Emerge capstone for Wild One, diving into their game, and sharing that ability with them work?
>>

Did you send Ra Ciela to the same universe as Earth?
>>
>>52353269
I just put it in the uploads a couple minutes ago.
>>
>>52353318
I explained myself pretty clearly here >>52353297.
If you want to be the expert on how Dirge's jumps should work you go right ahead. The way I see it you can't possibly make a ruling on one of his jumps without it becoming a clusterfuck. I doubt even Brutus, who technically has the rights to the jump, would know how to rule on Dirge's perks, especially when so many of them have elements stretched from the canon.

>>
>>52353333
What are you even trying to say here?
>>
>>52353391
Certainly a lot more focused. I think there'd be trouble making it larger then a normal jump without heavy reliance on making stuff up but those storylines definitely solve the problem above, since they're 'settings' rather then 'collections of cards' and its a heroes situation then. Digger's certainly skilled enough that I think he could manage at least a basic sized jump for some of those storylines, potentially bigger too perhaps?

Alright, so I got a good gauge of it.

Would it be safe to say that it kinda boils down to "If you can make the theme more consistent(example given: keep it to early Fantasy YGO such as the era of Dark Magician and Celtic Guardian) and make the "setting" a more apparent thing, it could work and would be fun. Otherwise, don't bother"
cause I can work with that easy.

>>52353396
Imagine if one person from a different dimension was displaced and in turn caused the sun to go out of funk in 5000 years now multiply by however many people there are. You effectively gave that many people Oversight.

I can't even begin where it all went wrong.
>>
>>52353435
Eh, now that people pointed it out, I think it'd be better to go with one of those storylines that got linked rather then the OC stuff, since you're still working with stuff that isn't really linked otherwise.
>>
>>52353298

This is a 121 page Jump I've never looked at before. Could you look at your builds or whatever and give me a name? Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger sounds like what you were talking about but I need to actually know what you're talking about to answer the question.

>>52353364

It'd be the most realistic Dating Sim ever, but I'm not sure how people would react to suddenly having to act like relatively normal people on dates instead of following routes and flags and junk.

>>52353366

If you have some method of entering video games and sharing Bio-Emerge with a newly sapient video game character, it would certainly give them the power to enter the "real world" from their game world.
>>
Alright, the problem with my main chain is that I can't decide which order to take jumps in. So I've decided to try rollfagging. Can I get 8 jumps?
>>

>>
>>52353469

The description I think pretty clearly mentions it's OC unless you choose to use it as an import for a pre-existing companion. You may not use an imported companion as a second partner.
>>
>>52353492
Yeah just a small rule, don't take anything with a soul out of their universe. Do that and it should be fine. I'd go into it more, but that would go and just have me tell you to o watch the 58~ hour translation of the game.

To sum it up. Oh boy.
>>
>>52353429
I don't think size is an issue with Digger, he's made some of the biggest jumps on the drive both in terms of page count and complexity. If you combine the Kamen Rider jumps he's definitely made the biggest jumps on the drive.

As long as he's motivated to do it he'll find a way to make it work.
>>
>>52353448

True that. I'll see which ones are more coherent. Bujin and Six Samurai stand out as gelling rather well, and hell those two might be capable of filling a jump together.
>>
>>52353521
I don't think it explicitly says OC, but it does have a 'you can import a companion' thing at the end.

Darn. Any particular reason?
>>
>>52353523
Well, I'm sure I would have kept it in the same universe(if only to keep drain from moving the planet to a minimum). So while I moved it across from an earth it would have been the local earth which might not even have a population.(or at least a local earthlike).

Anyways, I'll mull over the ideas. Thank y'all who talked to me honestly about this
>>
>>52353435
I mean, I'm pretty happy with he concept either way.

In my eyes the more interesting question to me is what ELSE would you otherwise be making, that would be pushed back for this jump. Admittedly, it's not really fair for us to demand certain jumps to be made - only to say whether it ends up passing the minimum standard. And I think this certainly does.
>>
>>52353528
Two things. One, Digger makes smaller jumps in page count then you realise, given he usually uses a much bigger font then anyone else. It's not half the actual size but it is a significant reduction in pages.

Two, it doesn't matter what the guy's done with other properties. Those Kamen Rider jumps all have more then a wiki page to them to draw from. If you're going to praise the guy, please at least try to realise the context this is being talked about in and how it differs from past things.
>>
>>52353545

Digimon Tamers doesn't really have any precedence for anyone with multiple Digimon Partners like most of the games (or even Digimon Adventures where the movie had the one guy with Gummymon and Kokomon before Kokomon was spirited away). The closest was Impmon technically having two Tamers.
>>
>>52353560
What the fuck are you smoking? We already agreed that his issue is a matter of direction and focus. I was responding to the guy talking about making a basic sized jump or bigger out of it. Go take your fanboyism crap and fuck off.
>>
>>52353528
>If you combine the Kamen Rider jumps he's definitely made the biggest jumps on the drive.
Fucking really? If you combine the Final Fantasy jumps, dirge is literally untouchable. And lmao at Digger making some of the most complex jumps on the drive. No, they're generally just standard jumps that are fleshed out really well.

I think there may be some miscommunication due lack of insight here.

Earth is in a completely different universe, in the same one we are in. They kidnapped people from our Earth, albeit a different parallel version of it, to send people over to the EXA_PICO universe since doing so will give people the power known as Oversight.

Oversight is essentially the equivalent of taking the Schrodinger's cat experiment, deciding you want the cat dead, and then using a gun to shoot the box to obtain the outcome you wished for.

Or in video-game terms, it would be the equivalent as to understanding the 'stats' of an enemy as well as 'saving' and 'reloading' to get the outcome you want, as in finishing the game.

Please tell me I'm the one not understanding here, my head hurts from trying to understand the meta-physics.

Ow.

>>52353555
The perk refers to the literally green dreams Jojen has which aren't quite the same as any of Bran's dreams.

I think the bracketed text is wrong and that green dreams refers to the sorts of dreams Jojen has in which everything is green. It's possible that what Bran can do is also referred to as green dreams despite the dreams not actually being green but I don't think they are.

Mmm, from a quick check of wikimon, you could technically designate Omnimon as the Mega Form if you're fine with MasterTyrannomon or MetalGreymon being the Ultimate. (or as wikimon puts it, Omnimon as the "Ultimate" Form with MasterTyrannomon or MetalGreymon as the "Perfect") Otherwise yeah, you'd need to go pick up DNA Digivolution.

As for Zwart, it looks like you'd need some sort of OOC methods in this case to get that form, from what I can see, sorry.
>>
>>52353681
Okay I think I understand now. Sorry, but its a bit hard to go along with the context of what your saying and me trying to understand in the context of the setting due to how fragile it is.

Is there any thing that allows you to "impersonalize" knowledge? I want to do a shit-ton of studying, but I don't want to feel when I look back as if I spent an inordinate amount of time studying. Hmm... I think I can work that? Though, given the parallels - there are literally an agumon and gabumon 'black' all the way up to War Greymon and Metal Garurumon, and then Omnimon - can I basically just fanwank it?

Augomon (Black), Greymon (Black), Metal Greymon (Black) or Skull Greymon, and then either War Greymon (Black) or Zwart?
